Wednesday is my day for fanfiction and fanart and I hate how much fun I have collecting ideas for a TKK x Outsiders crossover I plot for a while now instead of focussing only on my running fics, but I can't write 3 stories at once so I'm only making moodboards and stuff and note plot ideas for now. It will be set in the 90s, (don't wanna reveal the setting further, yet, but it will be something rooted in my own teenage years so it feels special to me X3) Also it will be inspired by "Das Doppelte Lottchen" again. (A favorite childhood story of mine, written by Erich Kästner) I already did that years ago for other twins but I love the lost twin trope too much, I actually use that too in my original Manga XD, so I can't wait to write that for Daniel and Johnny C.! =D I gathered a few different ideas and settings for them, but this one will be the one I'm gonna write. It won't be the main plot and much different from the one I wrote for a different fandom but it fits in nicely. I mostly can't wait to draw art for that idea and setting I have in mind.. X3 But since I grew up in Germany and my setting is L.A. I want to do some more research of that time and scene in the USA before writing.

the end x3 and last act are pure angst all the way thru. last act is definitely my fic with the darkest or angstiest ending (and also my least popular fic, interestingly) (I don't blame u for not wanting to read about aki dying we read to get away from that ok)

happy does not exist in chainsaw man world so the gale fic I recently wrote has to be up there. gale please marry me so we can live happily ever after

not on my fics on ao3 I don't think but I've had anonymous hate mail telling me my writing sucks or whatever, it's to be expected at least once on tumblr so it doesn't bother me in the slightest haha

i’ve actually read a lot of fanfiction since i was young and actually attempted to make my own works (which im pretty sure are terrible HWJHSJSJ) but in the context of when i started posting, i was obsessed with the romcom music & lyrics and really wanted to give it my shot in writing a sunwoo fic with a similar premise (take note though i had some other wips before!) and it rotted in my drafts for almost a year 😭 only found the courage to pick it up again and finish it after reading beam’s fics <3

my current user is based off of day6 (even of day)’s the book of us: gluon — nothing can tear us apart which is such a personal album imo… dropped when members went on hiatus and where the sea sleeps still makes me feel so much emotions despite how long its been. ive used similar user names on other platforms like twitter and ive always just loved the sound (glue-ion) and how it looks!!! i do miss using zzoguri but i feel like gluion has always been such a big part of me since i used it back in 2021

Bestie Meetup!!!

So as I'm sure most of you are aware by now, me and @calcium-cat are very close best friends. We first started talking to one another when she was was finishing her first fic A Little Bitty of Hope a few years ago and we've basically been talking to each other on an almost daily basis ever since haha.

However she lives in the US while I live in Ireland, which are quite far from each other as you probably know, so we've never seen one another face to face before...

But finally, next Thursday after over one hundred days of counting down and planning, me and her are at last going to meet and hug and do all those things besties do when they get together X3.

Both of us will be travelling to London to attend MCM Comic Con for the weekend and to say I'm excited to see my bestie and attend the con with her would be a huge understatement. Thursday seriously cannot come fast enough (though the Con starts on the Friday I am meeting her the prior day so the jet lag will hopefully be gone by the time it starts haha).

As a fairly shy, quiet adult, I still cannot get over the fact that someone is willing to travel several hours overseas on a flight just to see me (attending the con is a nice bonus tho) ... Especially as bestie has never been on a flight before like, girl what? Are you sure about this XD? I still can't get over it honestly, but I'm hugely grateful for it <3.

Rest assured Bestie that I'm going to make sure that this is the best weekend ever for both of us :3! You're super duper awesome once again and I can't wait to meet you at the airport... Even if we'll both be slightly out of it from both tiredness and jet lag XD.

And I promise one day I'll come see you in America!

2024 Creative Wrapup and Look Ahead

This ended up very long and rambly but. I just wanted to get it out. Say my piece out to the world on my tumblr where most of my usual followers don't know I even am x3 Look Back

2024 was a hard year. I have no idea how 2024 started. But what I know is the moment I got unexpectedly terminated from my employment in early 2024, everything changed.

I think I was, in many ways, lost, for most of 2024 as a result of not having a job. But it was more than that. I was creatively aimless. I was struggling artistically and didn't have a purpose.

What originally started off as an attempt to learn more human anatomy to better draw furry stuff ended up snowballing into loving art more and once again. I stopped trying to be something and someone else. I stopped trying to fit into a box to appease a certain group, where many didn't even care anyways. And god everyone noticed. The amount of people who were commenting about my art glow up and how much better I was doing. That motivated me so much. And for the first time in a long time. I could see they were right. I Knew they were right. I understood the power of doing something I loved and how much that reflected in what I did.

That shift ended up cascading. It evolved and carried forward. It multiplied exponentially. It ended up culminating in me just locking up and moving on from something for my own mental health. While it was the catalyst for my artistic creativity, while I met many amazing people from it... there was also some truly awful things that happened to me. I cannot ignore the scars, regardless of how situations and myself as a person have improved. So it was time I parted ways and I am better of for it. Whether my departure from that part of my life will be for now or forever, only time will tell. For now I am happy it's locked in a box and out of sight. And my happiness matters most.

In the last months of 2024, by a series of chances I rediscovered by love of writing too. A realization I was driving a rare-pair ship for a large fandom, combined with a release for a game started it all. I focused on those fics with a renewed sense of purpose in October to November. The best month to do so given history and the writing events during it. In December, the last month of the year. A simple desire to say "thank you" - to someone who I had seen being so helpful to writers and creatives, helping in moderating and running events in a server - blossomed into something amazing. I made plans to watch She-Ra and the Princesses of Power with the express intent of writing a fanfic as a gift for that mod. I'd watch the series over November into December. Write the fic in December and then go back to my own fandoms. None of that happened. I binged the series in less than a week. I started writing the fic and I also started drawing art for it. I actually had Spop fanart BEFORE the fic was finished. A quick sketch of Catra as a trucker, roughly coloured based on conversation from my gift target. (How he didn't sense something was up at that point was beyond me lmao). I fell wholeheartedly into this lovely series and have a long fic completely outlined that I've already been picking away at. It's probably gonna be my big 2025 project. On top of fanart sketches and other fun things. Also on the note of binging, I just finished binging said gift targets 300k word fanfic in about 6 days. Because apparently when I fall into something I just fall whole heartedly into it. Full send out for a rip bud. Peak Canadian hours I guess. Go read Defiance by TheNotebookWizard xD.

I picked up things old and new and with a renewed sense of how I creatively work best as a writer and artist. I've published more written words in the last two months of 2024, than I did in the past 2 years combined. I have a new canvas to work on for words (Scrivener), and the same trusty canvas (ClipStudio) I've come to love for art. My art growth has never been better and the 2024 wrapup shows that wonderfully: (Also Frith-rah I drew alot of Lisbeth/Rika in 2024 lmao)

Most importantly. I found the joy in creating both words and art again. I re-discovered fully the love of creating something.

Look Ahead

As I look ahead to 2025 I'm still scared and anxious. I've taken the first steps already into a career shift courtesy of a fully funded education to employment program. It's in a completely new field for me too. Scary. I wonder how much time I will have for creativity. If I can balance being a student and also being a creative. I want to keep creating but I fear school will eat all that.

Who knows that will come however.

All I can hope for is that I will ride the momentum I have built up creatively at the end of this year and carry it forward to 2025. I am going to try my best to do just that. If i will it into existence, it should happen. If I tell myself to do it. I will do it. I have a whole new large fanfic story to start sending out to the world. Old fanfics to wrap up on. I have creative artistic ideas that I just want to get fufilled. Some of these are wombo-combo in tandem things. Art for these fanfics. It's gonna be fun. I am excited as much as I am nervous and anxious. I got this.

the fic with the angstiest ending must be taste the ambrosia on your lips because although the ending itself is happy there's a loss that still hurts me to this day

Bulletproof, for sure. it's the ending with the best character relationship redemption arc (?) of all the ones i've written and the one that makes me really happy

I actually wrote the first sex scene back in august when I was on holiday in Turkey, but then writers block and you know, all the rest of it, and now its March, and somehow today was the day I decided that I was going to finally finish this fic. I also have a good idea on what's going to happen in chapter 3, and the epilogue is already written, so hopefully not another year before an update.

RIP Worth It

First off, I want to give a shout out to all the friends I’ve made along the way, you know who you are. I started this side blog during the peak of Worth It and the fandom, in 2017. And it was a much needed hobby for me to plug in to. 

I had just finished grad school, I had moved for an internship and I was alone and far from friends and family. I was getting over a major heartbreak too. I came back to my small apartment to my laptop to work on gifs for the fandom, chat with friends, or read fanfic (still some of the most quality fics I’ve read). I started my mornings before work watching Worth It in chronological order. I am so so grateful for this show and how it got me through my loneliness. So thank you Worth It fandom and thank you Andrew, Steven, and Adam and the rest of the Worth It team.

hhhhhello hey hi !!!! I'm the podficcer that asked permission to podfic your ghost series and -- I had a strange question for the sangcheng one!!???? I keep thinking about nhs alive in 1920s NY speaking in some 1920s slang and I can't help but uhhhh picture him talking in a 1920s NY accent but is he FROM ny?!!!! 😂 a NY accent keeps popping up every time I read his lines out loud, and I'm not sure if that's weird, so I wanted to ask for some feedback!!!!

Hello, my dear! 💜💜💜 I'm so excited to hear your podfics--prior to getting into MDZS, the only person I'd ever heard read my own work was me, so between you and the person recording "this humble fox" I'm practically basking in the exciting novelty of it.

Anyway, that's not a strange question at all, it's a very good one! No, despite his tendency to hang out in fashionable areas of New York City when he was alive, Huaisang is not from New York, he's actually from New Hampshire. The Nies emigrated to the USA significantly before any of the other cultivation clans and initially settled down in the White Mountains, where they made quite a lot of money as trappers. They eventually opened up the butcher shop rather further south in the actual populated areas, and Huaisang attended a private school, so I think the most appropriate accent for him would be what's called a Mid-Atlantic. If you're unfamiliar, look up clips from Bringing Up Baby on YouTube--Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn are the shining examples of the early 20th century Mid-Atlantic accent, which was a very mannered, deliberate way of speaking. (The house Mingjue had built for him, the one into which Jiang Cheng eventually moves, is in Georgia, because Huaisang hates to be cold and loves to garden and placing him in Georgia meant the Jiangs could maybe keep an eye on him.)

The Yus, meanwhile, settled right outside Boston, in Newton, and Yu Ziyuan did her level best to instill her children with the value of speaking "properly," so Jiang Cheng speaks with...about half of a modern upper-class Boston accent, which shades into a more classic Southern when he relaxes, since he did grow up in Georgia. (The Southern accent gets noticeably more prominent when he's talking to/arguing with Wei Wuxian, who was born in Kentucky and spent the first seven or so years of his life learning to speak from Cangse Sanren and Wei Changze--Cangse had a thick accent, it was one of the things Yu Ziyuan disliked about her and her son after her.

As for music, the other three fics don't have specific playlists--"Jiangzai x3" was fully written in a sort of mad hallucinatory dash, and the playlist sprang up as part of that--but I do have general WangXian and XiYao playlists, if you'd like to look through those for inspiration, and of course all of the chapter titles for "Gimme Shelter" are themselves song titles. Unfortunately, I have sorely neglected Jiang Cheng and Nie Huaisang as far as playlists go, and I do need to remedy that. In the meantime, if it helps at all, Huaisang listened to a lot of jazz when he was alive--think Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, any luminary of the Harlem Renaissance who was recording before 1927--and loved to go out dancing. I'm honestly not sure what sort of music Jiang Cheng listens to, or if he habitually listens to much at all.

do you have any tips or advice for writing full length fics? i have about 3 fics which i have completely planned and i know what i want to happen in them but i'm really struggling, it's like i can't execute the vision in my head and it annoys me because i'm proud of the ideas and i want them out in the world but it's not going </3

Anon I am sitting here laughing at the idea of ME doling out advice on writing full length fics! Me- who was terrified at the thought of this just a couple of years ago! I was literally going to @drinkurkombucha “yeah, I can’t do that….”!

So if you have THREE full length fics completely planned, that is AMAZING! That’s 2.5 more than I had when I started writing fic! Are you letting the little voices of doubt in your head stop you? Tell them to fuck off! You’re probably being very hard on yourself.

I think the first thing is being excited by the story you want to write, and it sounds like you have that x3. Then the only way to do it is to just start writing. I write everywhere on my phone - buses, parks, bars. I wrote a bit of Poses 2 in the queue waiting for my Covid vaccine! I wrote the first sex scene of Cellophane House on a train! Waiting for the perfect place and time to write usually means you don’t.

I always write chronologically start to finish, then I look forward to getting to bits of the plot I’ve really been super excited by. Other people have a really different process, and I find that really interesting. I don’t really work with other writers (but I can’t post anything without superstitiously getting @drinkurkombucha to read it and feed back first!) but maybe that would help you?

Sometimes posting to AO3 helps as well - knowing that people are out there waiting for you to update is good discipline and the feedback is really motivating. Then again, don’t let that be a pressure. You don’t need to post every week. Over Covid I could do that- I def can’t now! But that’s ok.

I think as well your confidence will grow the more you write. If you have a plan, you know you have a whole story. You could loosely divide that into chapters but know that your plan might change. I used to have to have 2-3 chapters banked that I hadn’t posted yet. By the end of “Lost Boys” I did not have that, which would have fucking TERRIFiED me before, but I think the more you write, the more you know you can and will finish the whole fic.

Also tho, it’s fic! There are no rules! That’s the beauty of it! You can totally indulge in yourself and at least one person, probably loads, will think it’s the greatest thing they’ve ever read!

I love doing OC ships, so I love seeing Messmer shipped with people's OCs!! I've seen some lovely art and fic snippets in this vein and it's giving me so much life. I have something going with him and my OC Anya, but it needs a little more time to marinate before I start writing it (read: I have to finish the DLC first I have so much to explore pls help sdfhdf)

Not sure if this is unpopular or not, but here we go: Messmer has pathetic tendencies for sure (helloooo mommy issues lmao), but like hell is he going to show them in front of most people or in any situation where he needs to exude authority. Not exactly a good look when you're reigning over the Land of Shadow and have troops to command. I think some people forget that he can roast a bitch alive if he wants to. That said, I'm all for him letting his walls down around someone he trusts, especially an S/O <3

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

That we could marry him instead of fighting!! Please!! Or at the very least recruit him to help us out, I'm dying over here!

He's not a total pathetic mess! War criminal? Yes. Conflicted about his place in the universe, especially after having his ass handed to him by a machine multiple times? Of course. Going through the most horrible and existential point of his existence? You bet. But totally pathetic and useless? I think the fuck not. There's a reason Gabriel went undefeated for so damn long, and he didn't get to that point by being completely useless. It involved dedication and control. I love the memes about him, don't get me wrong, but some out there get the memes twisted up with his true personality.

Also, personally I don't think he would ever have a thing with V1 unless it was grossly one-sided and probably toxic. I know that's not popular but this is my personal opinion and people are 100 percent free to ship what they want. The GabV1el shippers are living their best lives and I'm happy for them! Just not my cup of tea, is all, though I do enjoy the memes about it.

4.) Top 5 fics by kudos? The Android Left Behind, Down Came the Building, Gods to the Rescue, Please Don't Take Off My Mask, and A Blessing or a Curse! The sad part is I don't think I like any of them anymore

5.) Do you respond to comments? I try to respond to every one but some definitely slip through the cracks and I feel guilty about it every time

6.) What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? That would have to be Queensguard. And yeah I did get rude comments because people didn't read the author's notes

okay, so. firstly, the first and last here are events i made art for, not stories. secondly, i'm adhd (but can't be medicated for it bc of other meds i have to take) therefore VERY not good at deadlines etc... bc of that, i don't take part in anywhere nearly as many events as i'd like to :'( #babyviolins

BUT i did manage to take part in the cool af @spndystopiabang, making art for the super talented and very lovely @nessa-t who wrote the awesome destiel au fic PROJECT ANGEL... go take a look!

23. FICS YOU WANTED TO WRITE BUT DIDN’T

ugh, loads! but mainly a sterek au long fic with a working title of RED HOOD GOOD.

claudia stilinski doesn't die when stiles is aged 8, but at age 16. (there has been no scott getting bitten in the woods etc so nothing that happened in canon has happened here).

stiles is trying to grieve, to mourn his first best friend—his mom—while trying to still be a normal teenager... all while attempting to keep his dad afloat (and away from the whisky bottle).

so he starts spending lots of his time alone in the woods—at least, he thinks he's alone...

there's a creature always watching. waiting.

wolf!derek has been in wolf form (along with laura) since the hale fire. it's safer that way, laura, now the alpha, decided. and derek loves being a wolf, he really does. he's practically forgotten what it's like to be human.

then, the kid with the red hood who he's been spending time with is in danger and everything happens so fast...

derek ends up revealing himself as a werewolf. but will his new, human friend bail? or stick around to help derek become half human again?

BASICALLY, if i ever finish it, it'll be a coming of age/dealing with grief/falling in love story with our two favourite beacon hell bois :)
