#but i have no idea how Seb at that age would treat a proven WDC as his teammate

As Vettonso merchant, what's your thought of the scenario if Fer and Seb was teammates in their prime (early 2010s) on the top team like Ferarri or RBR, knowing both men are equally fast, entitled, and on-track menace.
Will whatever happened with McLaren 2007 happen again, or another 2010-2013 RBR, or you might have other thoughts?
Hmmmmm, yeah I think it would definitely be similar to McLaren 2007! They are two incredibly competitive, win-at-all-cost, ruthless, driven drivers. So I really really dont think one of them could ever be forced into that secondary role. Obviously Fernando as the older driver and proven WDC would probably take priority and command in the team, but even then, I can't see Seb taking that easily at all??? It'd definitely explode 😭
But yeah, I think it would propel their rivarly to being even more intense, because they're actually in close proximity, rather than having the option to be distant like they were irl. On one hand, man I wish they were teammates so badly, on the other, would that have corrupted their relationship even further? Could they come back from that? It's really difficult to balance between so much rivarly that it damages the relationship from ever evolving, however does the intimate knowledge you gain as teammates automatically mean they have more familiarity with each other and thus have more of a chance of softening??? I don't know. Its just such a weird relationship, because as I said in my previous post explaining them, Seb noted that it was so tense between them that it prevented them from getting close. So I really don't know if being on the same team would further that or not.
Also. Here's the thing. I love Mark, and I think he's a great driver and pretty determined, HOWEVER. There's just something...subservient about him I guess????? I just mean, I think he would only be top dog on a team where the other person isn't as motivated, as someone like say Fernando or Seb. On a team with someone as bloodthirsty as them, I think Mark was always destined to play second fiddle. So I really can't ever *ever* imagine either Seb or Fernando being okay with taking that role. Though, then again. Did Seb feel comfortable being as ruthless as he was because both him and Mark were unproven? Still though, he really is not the type to just take it, especially at that age, he would probably start committing war crimes against Fernando on track at an even greater pace than he did against Mark.
Maybe ill have to draw it sometime! All I can say definitively is. Lots of hatefucking.
#the problem is#we know how Fernando atp would have responded to a rookie w a lot of potential#so yeah i think hed probably treat seb a similar way#but i have no idea how Seb at that age would treat a proven WDC as his teammate#i just rly feel like he wouldnt gaf#he'd be like. oh you have two wdcs? dont worry ill match you soon enough! *smiles with all teeth*#and fernando would choke him out#aaagghh but yeah i mean this is basically what i try and do with boy king au. just in a different context#what are they like if they are forced into close proximity#the fact it was already bad enough when they were on separate teams is 😬#though maybe if they actually had to talk more often they would understand each other better#and STILL hate each other for it hahah#but then again they are both evil in a very similar way so maybe theyd get it and respect it a bit#catie.asks.#vettonso

Opinion Time
okay so im not gonna say anything about seb because that stresses me out so much and im too pretty for my skin to break out over this
but i do👏not👏want👏carlos👏in👏ferrari. for multiple reasons (i have no idea of the inner workings of the teams so this is just opinion time lol).
ferrari is a big ass platform and uhh i dont think they could just ignore any 'funny anecdotes' that are told under their name and in affiliation with their sponsors names (ok lets be real they totally could but theres loads of fans who wouldn't)
then, charles has a long term contract. and charles will not be satisfied with being 'equal teammates' for long. he would be the senior ferrari driver and would want to be treated as such. meanwhile carlos is older and has been in f1 longer so he'd not be happy to be reduced to second driver, he'd want to be first.
so by the time the first team orders roll around there would be a new ice age between them. and even if theres no team orders theyd be pissed if one believed he was clearly quicker but the other didn't let him by/didn't get the team order to let him by.
also theres not that much chemistry between them? like, charles might be quirky and funny when goofing around on twitch but hes dead serious on track. thats also the thing people said is different when comparing charles to jules, that charles has more of an edge off-track.
yes, carlos got on well with max who is competitive and serious af but that was in toro rosso and not Ferrari, the pinnacle of motorsport yadda yadda yadda.
like, seb and charles went head to head a lot but seb didn't have to prove himself, that man has four wdcs to his name and yes, a ferrari wdc would be very sexy of him but the car and the mercedes domination played a part in why it didn't happen.
while seb wasn't happy to be upstaged by charles, he wasn't on the same starting grounds, he had the security and confidence of a champion.
charles and carlos do not have that and they could tear each other apart because in the end there's only one top step on the podium and they need to prove their worth.
That is why the seb/kimi pairing worked so well, kimi was a solid base and just happy to enjoy the ride, he had his championship and was fine with being second to seb.
Weve seen nico rosberg and lewis both wanting to be number one and look how that ended, and charles has the steely determination to see it through to the end. that man takes no prisoners.
in my opinion, charles would come out on top, he's proven himself to be incredibly resilient and talented before and carlos would be a webber to charles' seb.
in conclusion, carlos to ferrari would be shit and if they don't keep seb then it should be giovinazzi for ferrari.
thank you for your attention
