School bus graveyard headcanons :D

First sbg post, lets go!! No fastpass spoilers. Formatted on a laptop.

Aiden used to be a really light sleeper. Like if someone were to breathe within his vicinity, he would be up or at least aware that they were there. I think it was because he either had to move around a lot due to his parents and he wasn’t really able to get comfortable in one place, or because he was left alone often and he was aware of his surroundings. It has gotten better after this final move. I do think, though, after the whole deal with Savanna that he sleeps heavier just because he is exhausted

If a store has a sale where it is buy-one-get-one-free, Ben will take full advantage of it. Like the sales at Walmart where you buy a shit ton of single color tank tops or t-shirts for like ten dollars. It would explain his outfit variety, or lack thereof.

I like to think that Logan is stronger than what most people think when they see him. Not like visible muscle, mainly usable muscle that doesn’t really show up. He works with his grandparents like a florist(?), and I think that he does a good chunk of the heavy lifting considering their age. Large bags of dirt, fertilizer, and heavy pots require at least some muscles in order to do it effectively, and if he did it often it is pretty much a work out. [we love Logan here]

Taylor has curly hair, but just straightens it. I have no reasoning for this, I just think it fits her, just trust me on this one. I also think that she always carries a couple hair ties on her wrist or in her bag at all times. Being in the mechanics club she would likely have to have her hair up so that it stays out of her face or so it doesn’t get caught in tools. She also has a couple just in case anyone in the group needs them, mainly for Ashlyn, but I also think Aiden would use them to tie his bangs back or something.

Ashlyn just dies in the summertime because of her hair, mainly due to the heat and the humidity. I used to have long hair, and in the summer it caused me to sweat so much to the point where I felt disgusted whenever it touched me. It gets worse at night too because I’m pretty sure she sleeps with her hair down, at least when she is at home. Don’t get me started on the frizzing, with that much hair it seems like a nightmare.

Tyler is a hallway crush, it is honestly funny. I think it has to do with him being in the baseball club, and the fact that I like to think twins are popular (people just like to talk to them/Taylor is charismatic, and Tyler is considered a “jock”). He knows about it, but he does not get it or do anything about it. He is already too busy with school, his family, and now his friends and the Phantom dimension. Several people have come up to Taylor asking for his number, and she hates it every time.

Both of the twins have several moles/beauty marks on their face, and just in general, however, I like to think they are mirrored. For instance, if Tyler had one right above his right eye brow then Taylor has one above her left. Is this realistic, no clue but I think it is cool.

Summerville, despite the name's associations, was the lamest place in the world. Certainly not the endless summer paradise that was suggested on the tin. There wasn't much to do over the summer except go to work, sleep, or fuck around in one of the many dumb fields around. It wasn't even a farming town anymore, why were there still so many goddamn fields?

You were in Walmart, preparing for a quiet night in. A pint of ice cream, a face mask, some new nail polish; you were all set.

"No way, I, um, love that stuff," A voice said from next to you. You chanced a glance at the boy next to you, towering over the shelf and all gangly limbs.

"You love nail polish?" You asked, raising an eyebrow. The boy cringed, caught in his own ruse and exposed by his obviously untouched nails.

"I just mean, uh--"

"You just wanted a reason to talk to me?" The boy nodded, seemingly resigned to his awful failure. To his surprise, you introduced yourself instead. You figured he was new to the town, and couldn't be any worse than the people you already knew. "What are you doing tonight?"

An hour later Trevor was in your car, driving you both out to the outskirts of town. He'd begged you to let him drive, apparently he'd never been allowed or something where he lived, and you figured your ancient piece-of-shit car could handle one more reckless driver.

You turned the speaker all the way up, blasting whatever tape you'd last put into it. You hung out the passenger window, singing along as Trevor raced down the empty dirt roads.

The car was parked in the middle of another field. Far off in the distance, you could see a few artificial lights, but other than that you were alone.

"Why'd you come to Summerville?" You asked Trevor once you'd shifted positions so you were both on the hood of your car, staring up at the dark night sky.

"My mom's broke," He replied, "We got evicted from our apartment and all we've got left is that stupid horror movie house and a bunch of old dusty shit inside."

"Shit," You agreed, coming up with an idea, "You want one?" You offered him a cigarette from the packet inside your jacket.

"I, uh, haven't smoked before," He said sheepishly.

"Neither have I. Cigarettes are stupid hard to come by here, they're only sold at one place and he's tough on kids. These're my brothers from college." You brandished a lighter, hot pink that you assured your mom was just for candles, and got to work.

You counted down together, inhaling in sync. You both choked out coughs and splutters, laughing at each other's embarrassing moments. You stumbled through the process, giving each other advice on how to do it properly despite both of you making it up on the spot.

You figured it out soon enough, and fell into a peaceful quiet, listening to the cicadas and rustling grass.

"Do you hate it here?" Trevor asked to break the silence and you looked at him, considering the question.

"I used to a lot more, I think. I used to be so fucking angry that this was the lot I was given. I've grown up a lot now, make my own fun, and it's not so bad anymore. Now I only hate it every other day," You joked, uncomfortable with the serious conversation. Thankfully Trevor laughed and you were back to more playful conversation.

You'd been out there for hours, burning through a few cigarettes and whatever booze you had stashed in the trunk.

"It's not funny, Trev, we were in deep shit--"

"What'd you call me?"

"Trev? Is that not alright--"

"No, no I liked it. Really liked it." You look over at him, were you always this close? You could feel his breath on your face, hot even in the summer air.

You think you were the one to kiss him first, but it honestly could've been either of you. Something in the air between you was electric, pushing you towards the boy you'd only just met.

The kiss was kind of awkward at first, both of you craning your necks from your position on your backs. Trevor was the one to move, pulling himself on top of you and framing your face with his forearms. He tasted like a bizarre mix of cigarettes and beer but it didn't repel you, rather encouraging you to open your mouth for him, the two of you getting even closer. You explored his mouth, bringing your hands up to tangle in his curls, pulling on them slightly and giggling into his open mouth when he moaned.

Maybe Summerville wasn't all boring, and you were pretty sure you'd just sorted out your summer plans.

I read something about adult/teenage Phinabella going back to Paris to redo their little trip to the "City of Love" that went wrong in Summer Belongs To You, and... I don't know, I just kind of hate that?

I hate it because it's boring. I can literally grab any book from Walmart with a shirtless man on the cover and read about a whirlwind romance in Paris or turn on the Hallmark channel and see the same thing set in some Christmas town, and blah blah blah, it's the same shit I've seen my entire life.

The whole point of the Phinabella arc in SBTY is that Isabella realized wanting a storybook, traditional romance out of Phineas is wrong. It's something she expects out of love, but not something she should expect out of him. Narratively, this is reinforced because every dynamic in Paris goes sour. Candace and Jeremy don't have their kiss until they're home (because he met her halfway, get it?), Vanessa leaves Ferb alone on the Eiffel Tower, Phineas is more interested in bolts and blowtorches than romance, and that's good because that's who he is.

He's not the kind of guy who's going to sit down, relax, and watch a beautiful sunset with the girl he loves, and Isabella doesn't want him to be that person. She loves him for his weird-shaped head, and how he uses big words to explain simple concepts, and even in her birthday song about wanting to be alone with him for one day, Isabella is perfectly content to help Phineas on one of his projects by handing him the tools he needs.

Phineas doesn't show his love by getting someone flowers or chocolates or a spontaneous vacation to Paris. His love language is acts of service and quality time. He is perfectly content to spend a whole day with Ferb, doing nothing at all. He will make an entire styrofoam town at the mere suggestion that Buford can't risk getting any bruises. He fretted like crazy over Isabella's birthday gift and felt so bad when he thought it had been ruined.

Phineas literally goes crazy when he can't invent, and Isabella would never want him to change that part of himself — because if he did, he wouldn't be the boy she loves.

He would just be another normal guy, and their romance would be another normal story.

And I think Phineas and Isabella would both hate that.

a spontaneous review of my perfume collection 🌹

i was about 14-15 when i picked up a bottle of Japanese cherry blossom from bath & body works. i practically wore it all the time & my fav thing about it was the way the glitter shimmered on my skin throughout the day. i haven't been to b&bw in a while so idk if they're even still making glittery perfumes. there's of course the floral notes but i remember it being kinda soapy too? like it kinda smelled like u just took a bubble bath with flower pedals lol. the memories aren't very clear but i get glimpses of summer camp, field trips, & when i & other girls wore wire cat ears, flower crowns & we popped the lenses out of shades cuz we liked to wear just the frame, y'all remember that right?

as for sweet cotton candy ( bodycology ) i don't remember buying it but i know for a fact i got it from walmart years ago. if japanese cherry blossom was in one hand, sweet cotton candy was in the other. idk why i took the sticker off tho. scc is almost sticky sweet, but not very overwhelming. i was stuck on these two for a good while as u can see i'm almost out. i refuse to use them now cuz jcb holds so many repressed memories & i scc has been discontinued by bodycology, they're very sentimental pieces to me.

i happened to find this one day & bought it on impulse. big mistake. it smells similar to the one i got from b&bw AT FIRST, but when it dries down its sweeter ( like splenda sweet, i hate splenda ) & the floral note fades quicker. also there's no glitter.. which is no fun. pretty bottle tho but i don't see myself wearing this anytime soon, it's not terrible just very bland & it's just not the same as the one from b&bw like i hoped it would be

i've made a post about this one already when i found it. i absolutely adore this scent, smells exactly like the one from bodycology. 🩷 it smells like pink sugar crystsls & it's not too sweet either. it's more like cotton candy ice cream rather than actually COTTON candy which is fine with me. btw i think this is perfect for bubblegum coquettes.

i got these years ago & i remember loving cupcake swirl at the time but it's just wayyy too sweet for me now. it's like disgustingly sweet which i guess is good if u like that kinda thing but i only wear it from time to time just to try to like it again lol. i tried giving it away to my friend but she didn't want it either. i think someone gave me cookie butter & it's also kinda strong but i like it.. it's slightly buttery like those Danish cookies. if i had to choose between the two i'd choose cookie butter, that's the one i used the most out of the two. unfortunately i haven't seen cookie butter anywhere since then. if i happen to come across more i'll definitely get s'more, i'm practically out. for some reason it reminds me of cool sunday mornings

ngl i saw my mutual post about this one in a mini haul & i went & got it. it smells lovely, sweet, floral, powdery. kinda reminds me of a night at the beach during a full moon, perhaps even a date night. this scent has an androgynous feel to it, i think it can be appreciated by coquettes & faunlets alike. now that i think about, maybe i'll get my bf to wear this... i think maybe dark or grunge coquettes would like this one

if u were around for Melanie Martinez's crybaby era but was never able to get her milk perfume ( i feel ur pain :ccc ), i think this a good replacement. i know i know, the notes are mainly powdery, not lactonic, but i think she'd wear this especially during that time, don't u agree? even the reputation this perfume has reminds me of melanie to a degree, not sm the slogan but the advertising & the way the models were dressed up ( also if there's anyone out there that has/had the crybaby milk perfume & u know of a perfume that's very similar PLEASE let me know.. ty :* )

i think this is the most recent one i got? i don't remember, but this is lovely. it's a fresh bouquet of lilies & jasmine & vanilla/syrup mix, i'm thinking more ethereal coquette with this one. this reminds me of marc jacobs commercials, it's what angels smell like. this is great if u want something sweet & simple.

strawberry pound cake is the scent i reach for the most as of right now, partly because my bf really likes it. you'll be walking around smelling like a strawberry pound cake of course, & who doesn't want that? while for me, strawberry pound cake is an everyday perfume, pretty as a peach is usually for occasions or when i'm dressed more mature/androgynous than usual. it's not everyday that i go around smelling like fresh fruits, but when i do, this is what i'll be wearing

this one isn't only the most eye catching of the bunch, it's also a classic coquette perfume that i'm so glad to have finally gotten my hands on. this is the most complex perfume i have so far. top notes are very sweet, fruity, mostly cherry, & at times can be nutty & smell of almond extract. needless to say, if u love the classic coquette look, this is a great finishing touch

last but not least, pink sugar! this one i find lasts the longest, i wore it to sleep last night & i woke up smelling just as good. this too is great for bubblegum coquettes & is great if u want a perfume that lasts all day. i swear i've used this exact same perfume even before japanese cherry blossom & sweet cotton candy. it was in one of those small roll on fragrance oil bottles. my mom bought it for me & i was so sad when i ran out. so glad i've finally reunited with this scent <3

Because you know a lot about nature - what tips might you have for beginner gardeners? I've been growing for a year or two now - my first year, I used a small pop up greenhouse to try to grow some plants, and had little success. Last year was lettuce in some planters on my porch, which was much more successful, and this year I expanded the planters to include cucumbers, parsley, bell peppers, and basil and I had mixed levels of success - the basil was great, and my pepper.plant gave me a few peppers, but the rest past that was really kind of sad.

This coming year, I plan to expand again to the box gardens we have in the back yard, and I've started composting to try to get things to go better.

All this rambling to say - what could I do better? What might I have done wrong this year? (Besides left town and forgot to have someone water my plants - I think that's what made things go so poorly)

You can do everything right and sometimes your plants will still die. If that was not so, "Will the crops fail??" would not be like...the dominant human concern throughout time since agriculture. Luckily, you don't starve when your crops fail!

This year, the raccoons got to ALL of our corn before we could harvest it. They knocked down entire stalks and left corn cobs gnawed and shredded everywhere. We didn't get a single ear of corn. However, the tomatoes were so productive that about half wound up rotting on the vine because it was simply too many tomatoes to handle. We had to put off our summer vacation by a day to get the canning done. The okra and pole beans got neglected, but the hummingbirds loved the beans in flower, and birds come to peck seeds out of the dried out okra pods. Nothing gets truly wasted...

It happens. Now is a good time to start planning out what you want to grow and sourcing seeds and sprouts etc. If you have access to a farmer's market, maybe chat up some people in your community? I received three big sweet potatoes in exchange for some farm work, and baked and ate them, and saved the sprouted end of one of the potatoes to grow it into a new plant. It's in a big pot now and it's a 2ft long leafy vine. Exciting.

And the neat thing is...they were purple. The sweet potatoes, I mean. The vegetables you buy at the store are very generic-ified, so most people are only familiar with a couple varieties, but there are SO MANY weird variations of them.

The sheer novelty was so fun, but it also tasted great too. Very starchy and smooth textured. How many of us think we hate vegetables because we've never tasted any but the Walmart-sold variety...

Every plant has its own oddities, but you're almost guaranteed to get something out of a garden if you do the basics of sticking seeds in the ground and watering them...but water is often the deciding factor, yes.

It takes practice and trying new things. Try growing a great variety of stuff and you'll find some plants you vibe with that don't die if you look at them funny. Sometimes a particular type of plant just doesn't like your soil, or doesn't like your shade, or doesn't like your humidity, or doesn't like your zodiac sign and/or mother's maiden name. Basically, learn from your mistakes (maybe it was because they weren't watered when I was out of town?) but don't interpret every failure as a Personal Failure.

i really feel you on the heat exhaustion in the summer and losing weight, i have it too. in my case i cannot regulate my internal body temperature due to medical issues so i'm always a human furnace and it makes summer awful to endure. i'll end up drinking a lot of flavoured water, eating yogurts and sandwiches with varied fillings etc and never anything hot. not even coffee, it's all iced coffee until like mid-october.

that being said, from one human furnace to another, do you have any tips to stay cool, especially for someone with no ac? i tend to drink ice water and have the "damp flannel in the freezer for 15 minutes on the neck" thing as well as cold showers, but do you suggest anything else?

Oh god the summer is tough for those of us who don't have AC and have medical conditions. You have said some good stuff here, but I can provide some tips of my own

Sugary drinks. Everyone is terrified of soda in this day and age, but I find it's actually a useful tool with chronic illness - and one of the main reasons I haven't lost more weight. Drinking low calorie or 0 calorie vitamin water is good, but sometimes it's good to drink liquids with higher calorie content in them. You get hydration and you can make up for calories that you miss during meals if you have to skip meals due to heat induced nausea. Liquid is always easier to ingest past nausea. And this goes for soda, juice, and even ice cold smoothies.

Ice. Ice, ice, ice. This may seem super basic, but I have to press it home. Buy one or two silicone ice trays on Amazon and always keep them full in your freezer, or invest in an electrical ice maker (this would be something to put on your Christmas list and ask for as a gift - the one my mom got for me and my sister was $160 on sale, so you can look out for sales too) - but having ice cubes in drinks makes a huge difference. Even putting ice cubes on your skin makes a huge difference when your body doesn't regulate heat normally.

Double walled tumblers. This is paired with ice. I know the Stanley trend seems stupid, and I don't even like Stanleys - I fucking hate the concept of paying $200 for a water bottle. The ones I use are $5 or $10 from Walmart - but make sure the one you buy is double walled and marked as insulated. This is proven effective to make cold drinks last for longer. So when you are exhausted from the heat, you don't have to keep getting up to refresh your drink and put more ice cubes. And it helps your drink stay cold from start to finish, helping your body temperature stay even a little bit lower.

Cold showers or baths. Again, this is kind of basic (and something said, but I am making a general list) - just be careful because if your medical condition means that you can't regulate body temperature, then exposing yourself to water that is too cold could make you sicker. The water should be tepid - room temperature, or slightly cool. And don't stay in for too long. Set a timer and listen to your body.

Putting cold items - cold cloths, ice packs, etc. - on target areas. There are target areas where coldness on your skin is more effective: the back of your neck, the top of your head, and your spine. This targets your central nervous system and helps you get cooler faster.

Air circulation. Again, this one might seem obvious, but I thought I would say it. Being a hot stuffy room is bad, so opening up windows and using fans to circulate air - even if it's warm air - is better than sitting in a room that is basically working as an oven toward your body. Also keep in mind that air needs a path to flow - if you open a window in your bedroom, open your bedroom door and a window in another room to help the air flow. You might be surprised what a difference this makes. Also, even if it's hot outside, it will likely be hotter inside your house if there is no air flow in your house.

Pet cooling pads. They sell relatively cheap cooling pads for dogs and cats (we got one for my cat at the dollar store) and sometimes I randomly sit on it even though it's for my cat. I recommend getting one of these to sit on or keep inside your pillow case to make sleeping easier.

I keep thinking of many other basic things: light clothing/minimal clothing, lack of activity, eating cold food (like popsicles), stick your head in the freezer...
