JOHN CONSTANTINE MEETS DBD TELL ME ABOUT IT BESTIE
Hey bestie!
Okay, so basically it's just this funny little thing of John spotting the boys whilst they're on a case and tailing them confused why two ghosts from different decades are hanging out together doing magic stuff like he does. I haven't worked out how it's going to end yet but it's basically just like a funny "Well I guess these are my ghost kids now" vibe basically XD
Okay, as for a snippet, here's one of my favourite moments so far:
After a few more random loops, it would seem that the two ghosts found what they were looking for, as they sped up their pace and started practically running. It was getting far more difficult to tail them, certainly without getting noticed. Thankfully, John wasn't an amature. He went a different route to the two ghosts that would still end up in the same area they were headed to, and once again thanked his knowledge of London when the two ghosts appeared again. Clearly they'd found what they were looking for as they began frantically searching around the little alleyway. John watched from a safe distance down a connected alleyway, thankfully hidden by the shit lighting. The 80s ghost was pulling a bunch of random stuff out of a backpack that probably shouldn't have been able to fit that much crap in it. So the ghosts had a pocket universe, interesting. The smartly dressed ghost started skimming through a book the other ghost had handed to him, which John recognised as arcane of some variety. They were still searching around, tapping bricks and listening to walls, when suddenly the 80s ghost yells out to the other. “I've got it, mate!” He then pulled a brick out of the wall and reached into the cavity. John frowned and leaned a little closer, curious to get a better look at whatever it was the two of them had been looking for. He watched as the ghost pulled a small baby doll out of the wall, small enough to fit in the palm of a hand. It reeked of evil. Even at this distance John could sense it, so strong it almost made him back off. The well dressed ghost flinched a little but then held out his gloved palm to take the cursed thing. “Right, let us put a stop to this, Charles.” The moment the object was in his hand, the ghost began reciting a spell that John was pretty sure he recognised. In fact, on closer inspection, he was pretty sure he had a copy of that book the ghost was reading from. The creepy little doll burned up in the ghost's hand, and he dropped it to the floor, watching it burn. “Well there we go, mate. Another case closed.” The 80s ghost grinned as he spoke, and then went over to pat his friend on the shoulder. “Indeed,” the other ghost responded. “And one less creepy baby doll in the world.” The 80s ghost laughed at that, and they turned and left the way they arrived. John followed again, even more curious about what exactly these two ghosts were up to. They were doing good, no doubt about that, but it didn't make John any less curious. Usually he was very in the know about these sorts of things, he wasn't sure how these two managed to slip past his radar. He continued to follow, until eventually the pair turned down an alleyway and walked straight through a wall. “Bugger.”
Okay so maybe it's more than just a moment but I love this whole scene sooooo yeah XD Thank you for letting me talk about this fic! I really need to get back in the saddle and keep writing <3

Bluejay's Horus Heresy Rec List
Horus Rising: this is it, the big one, the one that introduces the entire 30k setting
Know No Fear: yeah okay I'm biased as this is my favourite, it works really well at showing the 30k world starting to shift into the 40k one
Scars: it's just a great book all in all, possibly the best Horus Heresy book, besides digging into the White Scars, it's not a bad way of figuring out what's going on with the Magnus/Thousand Sons thread, and some stuff about the Shattered Legions
Betrayer: shows the "other side of the story" to Know No Fear. I have a lot of conflicting opinions on it as a novel but it's one I would absolutely recommend
Angel Exterminatus: a much better intro to Fulgrim than his novel. Also it's got this other guy in here that a lot of people fanboy...(I'm joking, I'm joking)
Shadows of Treachery: yes, this is a short story collection, HOWEVER it fills in a lot of missing spots, it's very good, and I think it's better at digging into the Imperial Fists and the Night Lords than any of the full novels (that I've read, at least)
books that don't quite make the cut
Angels of Caliban: I originally had it on my list but also, look, it's not very good. However it is extremely funny
Unremembered Empire: it's not a bad book, but it really reads like a middle book, and you have to have read a huge number of other books in order to follow all the plot threads here. Also I'm still salty about the climax being a fight between two characters who didn't even show up til the partway through the second act
Pharos: I loved Pharos, Pharos is great, but again it felt like it was another one where you need to have read another book in order to follow it (in this case, Unremembered Empire). It's also an early book by Haley, and it shows.
The Buried Dagger: look, I love Mortarion in it, I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone trying to get to know his character, but the subplot on Terra should have been a novella or short story, and to be honest some of Mort's writing goes into the silly zone
Galaxy in Flames & False Gods: yes, really! they are pretty essential for the setup. The problems is. They're bad. They have a lot of good moments but. They're bad books.
The Path of Heaven: very, very good. However it's pretty bleak, even for a 30k novel, and I really wouldn't recommend reading it without reading Scars first.
I dunno if I'd call them bad, but...:
Slaves to Darkness: it's peak John French being John French, which means there's 10 million things going on at once. Like there's some really good stuff in here but it's basically the stories of a bunch of side characters stuffed into a trenchcoat, nothing inherently wrong with that as a concept but it's not for everyone
Vengeful Spirit: I wouldn't call it McNeill's worst novel but it's kind of incoherent?? It has a lot of good moments though. And it's the one novel where he's not that weird about the female characters
Praetorian of Dorn: it does have one of my favourite characters and I suppose it's not bad, it's just not a book I really enjoyed that much
I wouldn't recommend reading these but if you're sure...:
Fulgrim: at least it was funny, if not intentionally in many places. If you think "I really really want to read about Isstvan V" I mean, ngl that's a major reason I read it, I can't stop you just...you have been warned.
A Thousand Sons: the prose and the characterization are a bit better than Fulgrim but man does it drag. Also, unlike Fulgrim, it has The Muscles. If you enjoy reading when people are horny over muscles well again I can't stop you.
Wolfsbane: there's nothing wrong with the prose, but the entire thing is "x person tells Russ it's not going to work (this happens like 5-10 separate times), Russ thinks 'it's not going to work', Russ tries it...it doesn't work". The best part is the Cawl subplot, I guess read it if you're a Cawl fan?
Flight of the Eisenstein: I hate it for so many reasons. It does have some good Death Guard stuff though at least.
Don't read it:
Vulkan Lives: literally the only reason to read this one is morbid curiosity. And I guess if you're desperately curious about that one loyalist Word Bearer who shows up in Unremembered Empire. But look. Life is too short. Don't read Vulkan Lives.

The Ninth Day of Julius Caesar
As a person who enjoys looking at retrospective diagnoses maybe a little bit too much, I have read quite a significant amount of works regarding Julius Caesar. He is traditionally said to have had epilepsy (though we don't know for sure if it's true or not) and so many people have done medical speculation over him over the years.
However, no one's perfect!
My favourite source on this topic will always be Julius Caesar's Disease by Francesco Galassi and Hutan Ashrafian. It's a very neat book about the history of this topic and it looks at bunch of other people's theories, but mainly it argues that Caesar did not have epilepsy but transient ischemic attack. I don't like it because I hate the epilepsy theory and really like this new theory (I consider myself to be neutral in this topic because we can never know), I like it because it is the first thing I've read on this topic that actually had some common sense and wasn't making mistakes all over the place!
However, it's pretty recent, from 2015, and people writing between 2004 and 2015 couldn't use it, so they all went and used a source I don't really like.
Enter "Dictator Perpetuus: Julius Caesar—Did he have seizures? If so, what was the etiology?" by John R. Hughes.
A hint about what I dislike about this source is that it was published in a medical journal. If a retrospective diagnosis work is published in a medical journal, prepare for good medical information but bad historical information. And if it is published in a history journal, vice versa. Context matters! Everyone publishing stuff about this are either doctors or historians and usually it's easy to tell which one the writer is.
Anyway, this one... it could be worse. It's certainly not the most diabolical thing you could read in the whole retrospective diagnoses of Caesar topic (that would go to "Searching for Neurological Diseases in the Julio-Claudian Dynasty"!) but there are a few parts of it that are very poorly done. And for some reason, the only parts that had any influence at all are the poorly done parts!
In the abstract, there is one silly sentence that is the bane of my existence: "His son, Caesarion, by Queen Cleopatra, likely had seizures as a child, but the evidence is only suggestive."
The evidence is only suggestive? I didn't know that was a euphemism for "I cited a modern historical fiction novel," because that's where the evidence came from. Historical fiction!
At least Hughes is pretty honest about where his information comes from and he does say that the only source for that is historical fiction and not ancient sources. But, why put it in?
Anyway, probably from the vague wording in the abstract, it's become a common misconception that Caesarion had epilepsy. People keep saying that and citing this work but if they had actually read it, I don't think they would've been impressed or convinced. Because in the text itself, it's clear that the source is historical fiction! It's only ambiguous in the abstract.
Maybe Caesarion did have epilepsy, we don't know much about him, but there is no evidence at all because historical fiction doesn't count as evidence.
This is actually mentioned in Julius Caesar's Disease! Unfortunately I cannot find the book right now, but I remember that it basically said "I like Masters of Rome, but I don't cite it!"
The author of one of the historical fiction novels actually said in the author's note "This detail about Caesarion I made up and there is no ancient sources that support it. It's not completely impossible, but don't cite this," and guess what happened? I feel so bad for her. If I was unwillingly the cause of a misconception, either my ego would balloon or I'd run away and become a hermit.
(Did you know that once an AI plagiarized me? I was talking to a chatbot about ancient Rome and I was really agreeing with it. I was like "wow this is literally exactly what I would write about this" and then I realised that it was literally exactly what I wrote about it because the AI had stole my words! Seeing my idea somewhere else certainly made my ego ten times bigger so maybe if I start a misconception it'll have the same effect?)
What's funny is that if I had a nickle for everytime this happened (someone citing a historical fiction book in which a male teenager who had a famous father and could've been heir to him and who is a part of Roman history during the first century BC to the first century AD had a medical condition in the historical fiction novel that is not supported by any ancient source and then a bunch of people citing the person who originally cited the historical fiction book until that detail becomes a misconception), I'd have two nickles. How does this happen twice? And how it that the two historical figures are so similar too? This misconception (not the Caesarion one) made its way onto Wikipedia so that's fun!
I know this misconception isn't actually about Caesar, but Caesarion. It's somewhat relevant to Caesar so it's fine! Alright guys remember, historical fiction is not a good source. This theory about Caesarion doesn't have "suggestive" evidence, but no evidence at all.
I'm sorry that I've really been slacking with my series. And I'm sorry that today's post is probably completely unreadable (I was really struggling to make words make sense). I promise I'll finish eventually, because once I finish this series, I'll finally be free.

8, 9, 11, 20?
8- When did you hear of them for the first time and what was your impression?
I'm sure I heard of him before this since at the very least he's mentioned in Les Mis a bunch, but the first I remember hearing of him was November of '22 when I read Candide and became absolutely insane over it (they should make more depressed 16yos read Candide). I honestly don't remember my first impression of Voltaire himself; I think I just decided that I loved whoever wrote Candide.
9- What is your favorite depiction of them?
Maybe a basic answer, but I have to go with the Largillière portrait from when V was around 30, it's just pretty lol
And here's a drawing from a 19th-century book of V getting the portrait painted while Susanne de Livry (the source of the "amant à la neige" quote and whom the portrait was for) is standing next to him/fixing his wig:
11- What is your favorite portrayal of them in fiction?
The only fictional portrayals I've consumed in full are A Visit from Voltaire by Dinah Lee Küng and Friedrich das Musical. The musical I couldn't understand seeing as it's in German, and AVFV is.. bad. really bad. It's the kind of thing you typically either a) keep on your anonymous Wattpad account, or b) burn. It's basically Küng's memoir about moving to Switzerland with her family, except the ghost of Voltaire is just. hanging out with her and giving her bad legal advice and stealing her computer to rewrite letters to his niece. So I guess my answer to this question is I don't really have one.
20- What is your favorite posession that relates to your favourite historical figure?
I have two for this one lol. First, a 1775 copy of Histoire de la Russie sous Pierre le Grand (part of the 1775 Œuvres Complètes that was published in Geneva) , which is just beautiful. I love the marble endpages and the border around the text. I also love how thick the paper is, not only because it's probably how it's held up so long, but also it's just such a nicer texture. #bringback18thCstylebookmaking2k24
Second is this illustrated edition of Zadig:
Thanks for the ask!! (and sorry this was so long 😬)
#asks#voltaire#honestly a visit from voltaire is worth reading#it's like 3hrs max and it's fun to laugh at#also there's a ton of random voltaire trivia so it's like little easter eggs lol

@merryandrewsworld tagged me to this ask thingy, thank youuu 💖 Challenging everyone who wants to do it!
Were you named after anyone? Nope, my parent just liked how it sounded and didn't think about it much -> I have of the most basic names in my country :D
Do you have kids? No but... we'll see.
Use sarcasm a lot? More deadpan humor than sarcasm but yeah, sometimes, if I know it'll be understood in the situation x)
First thing you notice 'bout people? Hair, I think, if it's something that stands out? I honestly don't pay much attention to how people look – for example, someone I met in a group three or more times a week was like 8 months pregnant before I noticed it, and I only noticed after I heard her friends commenting how big she is now. And she really was. :"D I just have 108362 things in my head all at once, can't pay attention to everything!!
Eye color? Know the ship dynamic meme about the big, beautiful brown eyes and the blue eyes that stare right into your soul? Yeah I'm looking at you
Scary movies or happy ending? I've only seen a handful of scary movies and I don't like them so x)
Special talent? I do a bunch of things adequately or enough to get by but I don't think I have talents that most people wouldn't be able to learn with studying and/or practice. :D I'm not really sure what special talents actually mean. But I guess I've gotten compliments on the speeches I've given this past year, so maybe public speaking?
Your hobbies? Writing fics and poems, reading (mostly audio books in the car at this point), roleplays (larp, dnd, text rp), video and board games, karaoke (not as much as I would like)
Any pets? Two cats <3
Playing any sport? Not that actively anymore but baseball!
How tall...? 160 cm
Favourite subject in school? All languages (I've studied almost 10 languages in different schools at some point but I've forgotten most of them) were my fav but I also liked religion and history (different cultures + ethics), psychology (until we had to learn about brain chemistry and then I quit because I wasn't good at biology lol), art (never was good at it but still fun) and cooking (extra food hell yeah). I absolutely hated math, physics, chemistry and philosophy :D
Dream job: I'm already in the job that I dreamed of since the age of 15 but if I wanted to do something else, I'd try to pursue writing, either fiction or academic research.

I am assuming the Tumblr God decided to eat my ask. Therefore, I will be re-tipping my previous ask if my brain would kind to remind me of it.
You have said that you are a literature lover. I was wondering if it would be so kind of you to share the books that you have read. The books that you disliked and why? Which are your favourite books
Who is the author/book that you love and one that you dislike?
What Era of literature is your favourite?
And finally, which piece of literature had an immense impact on your life?
Hi love! How are you? No no, I still have your original question. Sorry, I'd been quite busy and when that happens I try to focus either on writing the little I could so I can update or drawing so I space out a bit from work.
I'm going to be honest for a sec, University has forced me to read almost nobody that doesn't involve research papers and biochemistry books lol. So I've not read any recreational books in a while. The last two I read were "The Portrait of a Lady" by Henry James and "the handmaid's tale" by Margaret Atwood.
Mh books I've read? I don't think I remember them all haha But I can tell you about my overall I guess. My unpopular opinion is that while I'm a huge horror lover Stephen King books are… so boring for me. First, I find his female character so empty. If they aren't the villain, they are a devoted mother, or some hot love interest. Of course they are exceptions but it's too frequent for me to deal with it.
The handmaid's tale HBO show? amazing, mind blowing, gorgeous. The book? … Huh… well… It was decent. First time that I can say that a book adaptation was better than the book itself.
John Katzenbach thriller books are really good but he has a "patron" to create thriller and once you read more than one they become predictable. I highly recommend "the analyst". While I've not read more than the original and apparently there are more parts to it, the first book was good enough for me. I think it's a really easy going thriller and entertaining.
There's a book from my home country, Argentina, that I adore. "El elixir de la muerte y otras historias con veneno'' by Ciencia que Ladra (in English, the death's elixir and other stories with poison). I think it's an amazing book for those who like to write books. It's basically a summary of the different poisons used in history and, also, medicine that was "used as medicine" and actually was extremely poisonous. I love that book to get references for my own stories.
Books I have like: Les Miserables, Foucault's Pendulum, Tales of two cities, 1984, Brave New World (This last two are books I think that ANYONE should read, it's just perfection). I've read a bunch of Jane Austen books, I enjoy them. Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. I'm actually quite boring with my books haha I'm into the classics. I've read a good couple of Charles Dickens, Edgar Allan Poe and obviously Sherlock Holmes. Wuthering Heights
That's why I think my favourite Era in literature is Romanticism. I remember that I personally adore how heavily detailed the description of places and I'd always loved heavy literature. I get bored if I feel like I don't need a dictionary while I'm reading.
Recently, I've been interested a lot in Anarchism books hahaha I don't know how appropriate it is to say that. But yeah, for example: The Conquest of Bread by Kropotkin, Malatesta. LMAO I feel like people would feel like I want to put bombs into buildings after this.
A book that I like mmh eh I guess that any of the above. My guilty pleasure is the one about poison because I adore finding weird History details. Like the story of "búcaros" during the Spanish Golden Age, that's just… chef kiss of history details haha.
A book that I dislike? I remember I hated every page of Robinson Crusoe and I really didn't like "the portrait of a lady". I learned a lot of English vocabulary reading the last one but I felt like it cringed me out a lot. However I added a quote from it in Holy ground because I remember reading it and thinking "god, this is for Levi,"
which is: “If one is strong, one loves the more strongly.”
A piece of literature that marks me, probably 1984. I read it when I was… perhaps too young to understand and once I read it again as an adult it really changed me. But probably Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. My father was a buddhist so my home was full of … let's say interesting books lol. This book is short but left me with a quote for the rest of my life "Recognise your own limits and truly enough they will be yours," maybe in English the quote is different but this is how i remember it in Spanish.
I think that's it! sorry for the late reply. I hope this is somehow useful! Lots of love!

I have officially completed the first week of my AS levels, and I'm not going to lie, things are going much better than I expected them to?
I have been very close to mainly one group of 3-4 other girls, and I told them I was bi today, and they all accepted me, which was really such a huge weight off my chest. I casually just mentioned it in conversation when one of them said that they never had a friend who was gay, so I just immediately for some reason replied with "well, I'm bi, so-" and then they all just stopped for a second and went "oh, that's great" and stuff, there wasn't much of a discussion to it which I appreciated SO much.
We also played badminton today, and it was so much fun. I became much closer to some of the new students with the game too, because we kept having to take turns and we were playfully arguing about if we were out yet or not and it was all so much fun.
I don't think this new class is better than our old one, honestly. The dynamics in our old class were genuinely the best, and all of my bestest memories were from there, but this class is definitely incredibly great and special in its own way. For one, we finally have more girls than boys in our class, and that is still so surreal. And the people from my old class who I was actually close to, I'm still in contact with, so I'm not in that deep of a state of mourning anymore.
Our studies have ramped up so drastically too, though! I have no idea how to even start revising for Biology, and we've already completed the first 15-20 pages with almost ten pages of notes, and a bunch of diagrams which I'm not quite sure what to do with yet. I'm just hoping I'll figure it out soon, and not actually fall behind my studies at any time. Fingers crossed!
I love sociology so much too! It's one of the new subjects I have this year, and I love the classes so much. Our teacher is so much fun, and I get to yap for 45 minutes every day, which is never going to be something I complain about honestly. We have to research on cults as homework for friday, and I'm researching on the cult of cybele, which is basically this ancient religious cult that predates the roman empire, and became infamous FOR how popular it became, where it was a threat to the actual roman leaders. If you can't tell already, I'm having a lot of fun.
I went through my Wattpad today too, and I found this old therapy book that I unpublished in the year of our lord 2023, which was originally just a bunch of motivational speeches for my very mentally unstable followers at the time. I kinda want to do something like that again, but I have no idea how. Maybe if I do, it's going to be private, but we'll see, I guess.
My favourite song right now is red wine supernova by chappell roan, and it's been on repeat for days now, so I will most definitely reccomend it to anyone reading this right now.
I don't know why exactly, but I'm really missing ninth grade these past few days. Maybe it's because my brother has just entered it, or maybe it's because it was the first year I had offline with the people who would become so important to me in just the span of a year or two, but random memories from 2022 are just playing in my head, but I'm not sad about it? I don't know, I'm a little glad I'm not the girl I was then, no matter how much nostalgia she's bringing me right now. She had a lot of stuff to work through, and she's gotten me so far, but this is where I have to leave her now, if that makes sense? I'm so grateful for all the progress she's made, but she's not there anymore, and I don't think that fact is something I mourn actually.
Even if I don't want to admit it, my personality has changed a lot with this new class, but in the best way possible. I don't have to be unnecessarily mean to be scary anymore, and I'm telling people I love them and saying compliments whenever they're at the tip of my tongue, and I'm smiling so much more now and laughing so loudly, and somehow, I've stopped caring how my teeth or my neck or my jawline look when I do so? I've made friends much more easier than I expected to, and they're all so nice and smart and funny and pretty, and I don't have to get them scared of me to listen to me, because they care about me and understand where I draw my boundaries anyway. It took so long for the people from our older class to get that sometimes (not that I didn't love them just as much), so it's actually kind of surprising how safe I feel with these people considering that they're practically strangers, you know? Maybe I'm just rambling now hahah.
Okay I really do have to get back to my sociology and psychology homework now, so this is where this entry will have to end. If you're reading this, I hope you literally have the best day ever, and I hope that your favourite person gets you flowers and you go outside on an annoyingly hot day only for it to start raining, and I hope you only have good hair days for the rest of your life. I love you!
Love from Skye <3

Book ask! 1, 10,19, 20! 💙
book answers <333
book you’ve reread the most times?
excluding the series that shall not be named... i have a few ~comfort reads that i've found myself revisting over the years. the watchmater of filigree street (natash pulley) is one of them. shocker i know, none of you expected this!! i've also read the captive prince series (c.s. pacat) a few times, esp. kings rising the last book. i really don't like diana gabaldon as a person (i think her stance on fanfiction is not only stupid as fuck but also hypocritical considering she stole her male lead from old doctor who episodes and didn't even change his name.) but the first outlander novel remains a favourite of mine in the historical romance department and i've read it many times. the series got lost along the way (at least i lost interest) but the first one is really entertaining! also time travel and scotland, you know i'm there for it. i've read red white & royal blue (casey mcquiston) a bunch. 3 or 4x ? it's got that classic romcom vibe and i deeply connected with the way it approaches grieving someone when you're young/for the first time. i've also read cyrano de bergerac (edmon rostand) a lot. both in the original french and different translations. it's excellent.
10. do you have a guilty fav?
i don't know if i believe in guilty favs tbh! as long as it's not hurting anyone, why should i feel guilty about art that i enjoy? but for the sake of the game/for the sake of argument, i'll try to come up with a list. i guess i read a lot of star wars novels (big nerd over here) and they're very quick adventure-y types with a sprinkle of character study so it's hard to consider them as literature sometimes? so a few of those would be on the list. i really enjoyed the padme trilogy, padawan, master & apprentice, all of claudia gray's sw novels, the rots novelisation, brotherhood etc. there are a few het romances i also love a lot that i suppose i could include here? outlander is the first. but i adore emily henry's writing too which makes me feel pretty basic bitch, but she writes a lot of fun romances with bookish themes and that's like catnip to me. any of the darth vader comics ?? that counts, right? oh! i recently read an arthurian retelling that cast merlin as a queer teenager coming to camelot impersonating her brother and meeting young arthur and kind of falling in love with him. i suppose that had a cringe cover but i had so much fun with it. one of my fav ya i've read recently. it's the other merlin! idk that i'd describe it as a favourite book overall but....
19. most disliked popular books?
i loathe the all for the game series that was popular on tumblr a few years ago? there was nothing compelling about it to me. it wasn't that well written, the characters weren't that compelling, the sport was boring and the romance just didn't have the ooof i needed from it. i truly never understood the hype. i tried reading the kiss quotient (helen huang) which was huge in the romance circles a while back and never finished it. ok this one comes from the depth of my childhood and will not be relatable to many of you but les chevaliers d'emeraude (anne robillard) is SO awfully written it gives me hives. i don't know if it counts but i despise jules verne too. fuck that guy, i know he's ~classic but his writing is so fucking dull. and i haven't read albert camus since high school so my opinion might change if i revisit him, but i remember him making me soooooo angry. i think everything written by cassandra clare is pretty awful. i hate her style. sooooo many people were gushing over boyfriend material (alexis hall) and i hated that. the main character was annoying and immature and simply not charming at all to me. i don't think i laughed even once. i need to laugh in a romcom, come on!! it has a four stars rating on goodreads and i simply do not get it. it was boring and i hated the writing style. and apparently, there's a sequel too ??? talk about the most unnecessary book written ever. sorry to fans of it, it was just no my cup of tea.
20. what are things you look for in a book?
not necessarily all at once but:
a historical setting (i esp. love the first half of the 20th century)
some fantasy elements. it doesn't have to be high fantasy (though i like that too) but a little sprinkle is always fun.
romance !!!!! i love a good pinning, swooning, soft, tender romance!!! (duh) enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, strangers to friends to lovers. it HAS to be a slow burn because instalove turns me off.
i love a good found family/a good friend group!!
time travel is not a must but it's an easy way to seduce me
my main character type is heart of gold/noble intentions/heroic but struggling with anger issues... so a bit of that and i'm sorted.
snarky female characters. (actually just well-written female characters in general, which feels like a very basic ask but we allllll know it's not that easy)
i looooooove a good mystery. not a murder mystery, i'm not super into those. but i love a book that presents us with something to solve (like the shadow of the wind)
i'm not super into unhappy endings (tho. i don't mind them once in a while) but i love melancholic stories and Drama. just something that makes me FEEL.
it has to be atmospheric/it has to transport me.
i love poetic writing/beautiful prose.
also it (almost always) has to be gay. lbr.

1, 12, 19, 20 are here so I guess I'll entertain you and answer the rest here. But since you decided to be a menace I feel I need to put it under the cut
Ask game if anyone else wants to play but i'm answering all of them now i guess LOLL
2. top 5 books of all time?
AH um ok so it's going to be one of the ACOTAR books (could change depending on the day but it basically just flips between ACOWAR and ACOSF), A Rogue of One's Own (you already know how near and dear that one is), Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage (the best portrayal of loneliness I've ever read and came to me at a time when I really really needed that), Beartown, and Fangirl.
Subject to change wildly
3. what is your favourite genre?
Flip flops between Fantasy and Romance. Right now I'm solidly in my romance era but it comes and goes between the two.
4. what sections of a bookstore do you browse?
I LOVE the endcaps and themed tables those are absolutely my favorites but I usually skim the romance aisle and general fiction as well
5. where do you buy books?
I mostly get my physical books from Barnes & Noble & Book of the Month. A ton of the books I read are from Libby though so I don't own nearly as many as I've read.
6. what books have you read in the last month?
Since April 15th (my birthday <3) I've read
House of Hollow
The Wall of Winnipeg and Me
The Dinner
Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover
The Atlas Six
The Bromance Book Club
Teach Me
A Good Girl's Guide To Murder
And I'll probably finish Gild today
7. is there a series/book that got you into reading?
There have been a few over time as my reading habits have fluctuated. The Warriors Series was a big one that got me into reading as a kid, Divergent got me back into it in my early teens, ACOTAR and Throne of Glass didn't really get me into reading since I was already into it at the time but they did make me excited about it again after that excitement had kind of faded for a bit (like late high school).
But the thing that got me MOST into reading again was COVID LOL. I was too busy (and also clinically depressed lol) for much reading in 2018/2019, I read 18 books in 2018, 36 in 2019, 77 in 2020, and 100 in 2021 lol. So even now that I do have to leave my apartment again I'm still reading more than I ever have before so that's stuck around (honestly though it's probably also bc I found my bookish people on the internet <3)
8. what is the first book you remember reading yourself?
BAHAHA oh my god this question. I don't remember the title but we had this picture book where there were a bunch of stuffed animals in a classroom that taught themselves to read from the posters on the wall LOL. It was kind of meta bc it was like a book about learning to read but I loved that book and felt SO accomplished when I could read it to my parents instead of the other way around so that was probably the earliest memory I have of reading a book (although to reference Nick Miller maybe I just memorized the words LOL I don't remember). For chapter books the earliest I can remember is either a Junie B. Jones or Magic Treehouse book but I don't know which one I read first
9. when do you tend to read most?
On weekends bc i have a job >:( so weekends and evenings. I also try to read a lot when I'm at the airport/flying or riding in a car.
10. do you have a guilty fav?
Not really, I feel like I try to avoid the idea of "guilty pleasures" in general so nothing comes to mind. Like. Maybe ACOTAR bc I acknowledge it's kind of a dumpster fire these days but I still wouldn't classify it as a "guilty" fave obviously.
11. what non-fiction books do you like if any?
I do enjoy non-fiction from time to time! I absolutely ADORED The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green and Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer they both are so special to me. I've also read some really great memoirs like The Glass Castle and I'm really looking forward to Jennette McCurdy's memoir coming out this year.
13. do you have a goodreads?
I do and some of you have found it. I don't write reviews on there so have fun guessing how i felt about a book from my star review only LOL.
14. do you ever mark/dog ear books you own?
No. I used to dog ear like SUPER tiny but I don't anymore bc there are too many cute bookmarks in the world for that. I don't write in my books either, I tried that as well but it didn't feel like it added anything to the experience for me. The farthest I've gone recently is tabbing a book and that was only ACOSF and that was only so I could get back to my favorite parts faster LOL
I'm very much a "a little wear and tear is fine but I'm not going out of my way to make this look beat up" reader so no marking or dogearing and no spine cracking unless it happens on it's own. I try to respect people who purposefully beat up their books but I also sometimes i feel like they do it for outrage bait on tiktok LMAO
15. recommend and review a book.
I don't feel like writing a review but the last book I recommended to someone was The Wall of Winnipeg and Me so we'll go with that (i recommended it to my boss <3)
16. how many books have you read this year?
32 right now, will be 33 before the end of the day since i'm almost done with gild
17. top 5 children’s books?
Gah I don't even know. I liked Warriors, Little House on the Prairie, Harry Potter, Magic Treehouse & Diary of a Wimpy Kid as a Youth but I don't know if i would say they're in the top 5 like bold of anyone to assume I remember who I was as a child LOL
18. do you like historical books? which time period?
I obviously have a recent soft spot for regency romances <3. Other than that I do read historical fiction but I don't tend to gravitate towards any particular time period.
there's the end of the list, hope you're satisfied gigi

Ok, I think I'm ready to give it a try! I saw that matchups were open, so I'd like to request a romantic matchup! I absolutely adore your writing and the way you analyse every detail - you're a huge inspiration to me in terms of writing.
So, I'm a russian bisexual cis girl. I don't think appearance matters much, but I'll write down the basics just for fun! I'm quite short(5'2) in comparison with most of my peers, considering, that I'm 23. I'll be lying if I said that it doesn't bother me, since all my life people were making fun of my height and weight. I was always very short, thin and pale due to bad upbringing. I'm learning to love my body, but it still bothers me from time to time. I have very long deep brown hair (down to my waist) and green eyes. I'm actually quite proud of my hair! It was always my dream to have long hair, but my mom would cut it short each time. She still makes comments about my hair, and that it's 'gross', even though I take very good care of it. I've also been wearing glasses for my whole life, since I was born prematurely and my eyesight is just HORRENDOUS. But it doesn't bother me at all, since I've been living like this my whole life.
Okay... I think that's enough for appearance! As you probably guessed, my familiy's really not the best one out there. And that's putting it lightly. I don't talk about it much now, since I don't live with them anymore and I got over my trauma, but... My childhood was VERY rough. Sadly, it really affected what kind of person I am now, so I'll go over the basics. My mom was extremely abusive: verbally and physically. My dad was always busy at work and she threatened me not to tell him anything, so... I never told about it to anyone. I never cried, since she would get angry at me for 'looking scared'. I used to be proud of that, but now I know how much it was ruining me. Long story short... My dad found out, they divorced and he and took me away. I suppose, that's a happy ending, but I was already 12 at that moment and the damage already has been done. I have some trust issues, although I've gotten WAY better, and I'm still working on myself. Still, it's hard for me to open up, since I'm always expecting the worst and I don't want to be hurt again. There's also some triggers that I have to avoid in my everyday life, but I've learned to deal with them in my own way. Still, they're there, and sometimes they can get the better of me.
My tragic backstory aside, I'd love to share some more positive details about myself! Currently, I'm studying psychology and working part-time at a bakery. I guess my experience with trauma taught me a lot, and so I decided that I want to help people the way, that I wished someone would help me then. Sure, I've managed to heal and move one by myself, but it didn't have to be that way. I want to help people and make them feel heard and understood. I love my work as well! I find something comforting in this kind of routine, but maybe it's just because I enjoy cooking so much. Yeah, cooking is one of my passions! As I mentioned before, I barely ate when I was a child, so now I'm trying to eat as many different things as I can! God, I especially love korean and japanese cuisines! And I'd love to cook for my partner every day. Or, maybe, we could cook together! Although, in terms of intimacy, it's hard for me to be open with someone. Not because I don't want to be close to my partner, but simply cause I have no idea what I'm doing. I was never even hugged as a child. This kind of affection is... foreign to me, even though I do crave it. I totally don't mind physical affection, but my partner would probably have to take the lead at first!
In terms of hobbies... I love writing. Although that's a very personal one, than I keep mostly to myself. Oh, I'm also a huge science nerd! I was one since childhood, haha. Instead of toys, I was always reading some kind of book. My favourites are probably biology and paleontology. I'd absolutely love to share with my partner many random facts about animals or other stuff! People always told me that it's boring and lame, so... It means the whole world to me if someone actually appreciates my interests. Oh, I'd love to watch some nature documentaries and add my own knowledge here and there! I'm also a huge animal lover. When I was a kid, finding a connection with animals was always way easier, then with other kids. Gosh, I used to spend the whole day with a bunch of chickens, haha. Everybody always told me that they're stupid, but I found that they are actually quite smart and caring animals! And it's not just chickens: I've had a tendency of 'taming' street animals, such as cats. Everybody hated them, and called them 'rabid', but... they were just scared. Sure, it always took some time to earn their trust, but I don't mind that at all. In fact, every single animal that I have today has been previously abused or abandoned. I guess... I have a personal connection to them in some way. Nobody wants an aggressive animal and nobody wants to give them a chance. It's not like they WANT to be this angry all the time. I also really want to own a parrot in the future! A cockatoo, to be exact. They are a very difficult bird to own and that's why I'm waiting for the moment, when I will be able to give it the care it needs. It has been my dream for a long time! Now, in terms of kids... I don't know if I'll ever have one, so that's important to consider. And even if I will, I totally don't want to go through pregnancy itself. I'll probably adopt. But... then again, I'm not sure if I ever will. I love kids, sure, but actually raising one... it's such hard work, and I'm not sure if I'll ever be ready for that responsibility. I'm fine with my animals, haha. But, I appreciate someone, who could take me out of my comfort zone from time to time. I have a tendency to chicken out due to my self-doubt, so a small dose of occasional tough love would be welcome. Oh, I'm also currently learning korean! I plan to study there after I finish my degree here, so that's something to think about, haha.
Music is also one of my passions! I'm ALWAYS wearing headphones, so that could probably be annoying, I guess lmao. I listen to pretty much everything: from musicals to pop. Although, I definitely prefer to have some meaning in songs I enjoy. In fact, I tend to overanalyze the stuff I enjoy to ridiculous extend: from music to characters in shows I watch. People often find that stupid, sadly.
My ideal date would be... something, that has a special meaning to us. It doesn't have to be something elaborate or loud. For example, going to the specific place in the park, where we first held hands or something. It sounds ridiculous and cheesy, but... I love to show people I care about just how much they mean to me. And that means finding deeper meaning in everything we do.
Okay, I think that's wayyy to long, but I'm done lmao
I'm very interested in reading your take on things!
I match you with...
Zen!
You've got a passion for what you love. It means a lot to you to lose yourself in the music and imagine all sorts of things. it just makes you feel good inside. Even if others don't understand that you're in a world of your own... it's everything to you. It makes you feel nice and being able to share that with others means that you trust them. And, despite what you've gone through, you've got a positive outlook on life ahead of you, you just want someone that understands your limits and your desires.
The reason why Zen stands out here is that you need someone who understands you. Your love of music is so much like his love of arts and the theatre. When you talk about what makes you happy, he just starts to smile and laugh. He's always wanted to hear someone who is as passionate as he is. He could listen to you for hours. He wants to watch the stars with you and talk about everything and anything at all.
He also empathizes with a parent hating at your looks. He wants you to know that you're lovely and beautiful, even if your parent told you otherwise. It's not true. You've always been lovely. He wants to make you feel special and seen. Think about all those selfies he wants to take with the two of you!

✨💛✨hii I was wondering if you maybe want to talk about some of your writing?💕I've seen you talk about /that/ you write and I'd love to hear anything you want to share about it! (no pressure though I really don't mean to stress you in any way lol just..express my curiosity) alternatively: do you have any pets you want to gush about? or a favorite food?😁✨sending you a hug if you want itt😘😉
Ooh, hey!
I have started talking about my writing lately (omg someone noticed what), and I’m so happy you asked (even though i have no idea what to say lol)
Alright, um, yes, I do write, mainly my own pieces or small snippets that come into my head that never turn out into a full story. Occasionally I add bits from books (I think that’s me trying to put myself in there or something) or create my own Au with completely different characters in a different timeline, but in the same world, finding a different viewpoint, I guess. Honestly, I almost never finish my pieces, since I’m too lazy to write anything but that scene that came to my head in the first place - there’s too many options and I’ve never been good at deciding.
In a HP or fanfic sense, though, I’ve never really written anything. I do have ideas and headcanons and think I might be able to write a legible thing, but...idk. Too much time, I guess. Plus I get distracted really easily - part of the reason why my stuff is unfinished.
I’ve also been thinking of, if I have time, to create an acc where I post those WIPs, snippets and such in one place. Not sure if I will, though...
Pets? No. Still gonna rant, though. Used to have a bunch - fish, rabbits, two dogs that my parents got rid of bc they had to take care of me (there’s more to that story tho), birds (one of which got its head clawed off by the cat next door, don’t even talk to me about that one) and even tho this is also a bird and before I was born, if anyone reads my tags, I mentioned the gala that just flew down the trees from nowhere and started hanging around my parents like a trained pet (that’s got a bit of a story too)
Favourite food? Too many. I love my dad’s chicken wings, KFC and rau muong (what is it called in English help) ok I just searched it up apparently y’all call it water spinach and basically anything but bitter melon and something we call muop but I’m not bothered to google translate it ok search it up it’s some weird soft vegetable ew.
Hug? If I want it? GIVE ME ALL THE HUGS I NEED HUGS RIGHT NOW
And thank you!
#look alright i know they said alternatively but i want to type shut up#nah ily guys#oof yay i got an ask#comaraudery#reblogging comaraudery again sue me#even though its not really a reblog its an ask#rant asks#Also can u tell im not rlly australian do you see me using google translate LOL

OwlCrate Unboxing
The Dark Heart of the Forest November 2022
This is OwlCrate's penultimate box of the year, and the theme is "The Dark Heart of the Forest". Again, we have a bit of hit-and-miss with these items.
The book is "The Luminaries", by Susan Dennard. I've seen this book all over the place, it's being pushed by every bookshop, and it's also Illumicrate's book this month. It does look pretty good, but I'm always wary of books that are over-hyped, because they can go either way. The OwlCrate edition is based very closely on the standard cover, but it has obviously been redesigned from scratch, not just cut-pasted. It's got solid sprayed edges - normally I wouldn't be impressed with single colour edges, but it's been so long since OwlCrate bothered, that this is a win! The foiling on the hardcase is nice, but very basic. It's got interior artwork on the dustjacket, and really gorgeous artwork endpapers.
The first item out the box is the final Lord of the Rings bowl! This has been my favourite collection I've ever received in a book subscription, and I wish we were getting more. I guessed this last bowl would feature Gondor, and I was absolutely right. It's a beautiful design, and it goes really well with the theme of the box.
Next is a soap dish, inspired by "The Bear and the Nightingale". I'll be honest, I didn't know what this was until I looked at the spoiler card - at first I thought it was for frying an egg into a leaf shape or something! I don't use bar soap, I think it's gross, and I certainly wouldn't want some plastic tray sitting around collecting gooey soap residue and getting manky. But, the little bag it came in is so cute! It says "perhaps there is magic in the forest", and it's a nifty little sized bag that I'm sure will come in handy. So I'm going to chuck the dish, but keep the bag.
Next is a hand warmer, with quotes from "Lakesedge" and "Among the Beasts and Briars". I'm thrilled by this, my hands are always cold, and it's absolutely bitter at the moment, so the first thing I did was pop this in my coat pocket for work in the morning. I love a useful item, and they've timed this one just right, with winter setting in. I just wish I had two, one for each pocket!
We also have a toothbrush, inspired by "The Raven Boys". This is so cute! The toothbrush says "Visit Cabeswater" on the handle, and the holder says "The trees speak Latin / Arbores loqui Latine". It's a really nice design, but again, ew. I change my toothbrush every two weeks, because it goes in my mouth. I do use a toothbrush holder pretty regularly though, so I will probably use that part of it, at least.
Finally, we have next year's reading planner. It's really pretty, but it doesn't look like it would mesh well with my reading habits. I think it would work really well for another person, though. I've never used a reading planner before, because I do most of my planning/tracking online. I also have a reading tracker section in my diary, so I've never felt the need for a separate planner. However, I thought I might at least give it a go in 2023, and see how it goes! All three of my subscriptions usually do a reading planner each year, so I'm glad to have the choice, so I can find one that works for me. We've already had Illumicrate's, a few months ago, which so far is my favourite, and I'm expecting FairyLoot's this month as well. I have a couple of friends who will really appreciate the extras, so they won't go to waste.
This month's pin is based on "From Blood and Ash". I'd probably quite like this if we hadn't had an entire year of nearly identical pins. This month's is nowhere near my favourite of the bunch.
Overall, a pretty impressive box, even though there are a few items that just really aren't for me.

🍒Soft Bias Tag🍒
I was tagged by the lovely @pikachulein to do this tag! so thank youu hunnn 💕💕
🍒Who is your bias? 🍒
My bias is a hardworking man who I have nicknamed as 'Mango'. He's an amazing vocalist, dancer, rapper, and has probably the cutest laugh I have ever heard. He always makes me laugh and its of course, Lee Minho 😘
🍒What made you notice them?🍒
I mean, its always been Hyunjin that I've considered my main bias in Stray Kids. At first, Hyunjin was my bias but I'd always liked Minho for his dancing and singing, then i watched 'Hellevator' and his visuals hit me right in the face. I started considering him as my intense bias wrecker and it took lots of gifs from my gc to make me bias him. even though I still didn't. I don't know what happened, but one day I just said, "fuck it, he's my main bias" and here we are today.
🍒What's your favourite thing about them?🍒
e v e r y t h i n g. I do have a real soft spot for his laugh though. Like its so cute and funny and its one of those laughs that make you laugh because of it and I just find that really lovely. Its no secret that he was born to dance, and I think the passion he has for it is another thing I love about him. Minnie is so hardworking and determined and that's another thing i love about him. One thing that made me start to bias him even more is his sarcasm and sassiness. Like its really funny seeing him sass the members and, TBH, I'm kinda like that too, so that drew me into him as well. And Minsung. I cannot leave out Minsung because I think my friend would kill me lmao.
🍒Who would initiate skinship more?🍒
I mean, most probably him. Have you seen the way he is with Jisung?😂 All seriousness though, I do love hugs and if I got the chance, I think I'd non stop hug Minho. Like follow him round in a backhug, actually, I would probably just want to backhug him 24/7 because he seems really cuddly to me. Minho's also always trying to kiss the members, so if I'm behind him, he wouldn't be able to do that :).
🍒Who would hog the blankets more?🍒
I tend to roll around a lot and the blankets get caught up in my legs because they're so d a m n long and annoying, but sometime during the night, I'm going to end up basically on Minho's side, so he can take the blankets back if he wishes. Mind you, I'm a hot, temperature wise, person, so i get warm really easily, so he can have them all. Apart from in the Winter, because they're all mine then.
🍒Who would be more clingy?🍒
Hmm.... that depends. I feel like him? I'm not a naturally clingy person when it comes to anything, apart from hugs, so I feel like he'd always be trying to give kisses, like he does to Jisung. But ngl, I'll accept them anytime of day. Even if its past midnight.
🍒Who would be more flustered?🍒
Me 100000x. The boy doesn't even blush s l i g h t l y when he's trying to kiss or hug a member. I also think he likes to do secret aeygo and his American dancing. B o i , if he does his American dancing anywhere near me, I'm going red as a tomato and running out of there. Plus, I'm five years younger than him which is the age gap between my parents just saying I feel like he'd like getting me to blush because he's that type of person.
🍒What cuddling position would you two have?🍒
Well, we're the same size as each other, so I believe I'm going to permanently back hug this bean. I also really want to like play with his hair because he seems like he'd fall asleep to that and I want my boy to get rest. But then, i also like my hair getting played with, so the classic lying head on chest thing, because I fall asleep like that a lot. So basically, any cuddling position, I will not care, because its my baby mango.
🍒What colour reminds you of them and why?🍒
Pink. Not because of that video where had changed all his bedding to pink, but because he just seems so soft and and his sassiness reminds me of pink. So lets say like a light pink, because that's a good colour, and I think it matches Minho well in my opinion.
🍒Which season would you like to spend with them?🍒
Well my favourite season is Autumn and his is as well, so why not Autumn? You can go for walks in the parks and I would really like to do that with Minho tbh, and I always see cute dogs running after leaves so I'm going over to stroke them all. And then we can go to a café and order a takeaway hot chocolate and walk back through the woods and just have fun.
🍒Who would bake the cookies and who would steal the batter?🍒
I mean, I'm clumsy af, and I think Minho is as well. So, uhh, how about TRY to make the cookies. I mean, I can cook, I just burn myself a lot, so I feel like Minhi would be in the kitchen to make sure I don't burn myself and in the mean time, start eating the cookie batter, to which I throw flour at him for. Then I'd probably start eating the batter, so we ain't gonna be having cookies.
🍒Which one of you would make bad puns and how would the other react?🍒
I mean, we all saw how he reacted to "Lee Know, You Know?" and bad puns make me cringe so we'd both probably avoid them. Although, i will say one from time to time, just to annoy him. He'd probably just stare at me like he did with Chan, so I'll just walk off and do something, sniggering to myself because I'm lowkey evil.
🍒Who would want to adopt 50 dogs and cats?🍒
Minho already has two cats, and I have a cat and a dog, so probably both of us. He'd probably want the cats so I'll take the dogs and just cuddle them instead of him because I adore dogs ask anyone in my gc @uselessflower-pan
🍒Which one of you would nearly burn down the kitchen trying to microwave a poptart and who would come to the rescue?🍒
Lowkey probably anyone of us. I tried putting a plastic cup in the microwave when I was half asleep, so I'd probably try a poptart and then he comes in and is like "I don't think we do that babe" and I'm like "sure whatever , I'm going back to sleep"
🍒Who likes to lean over tall railings and who pulls them back?🍒
Well this is obviously going to be me. Minho, the poor baby, doesn't like heights while I don't actually mind them. I do have a habit of leaning over railings but I feel like he'd just pull me away because he's more scared for me than I am for myself😂
🍒What would watching a horror film with them be like?🍒
I l o v e horror movies. I can watch them all day. I feel like Minho isn't the biggest horror movie fan, but because I'm such a loving person, I'm gonna make him watch them with me. However, I am a very jumpy person, so he has to be prepared for me nearly knocking him in the face with my arms and nearly making his hand lose all blood circulation.
🍒Who would be the cheesy flirt and who would be the smooth flirt?🍒
Him for both. I can't flirt to save my life, so he's gonna be doing all the flirting. Sorry Mango
🍒Who is more competitive?🍒
I mean, both of us? I feel like we'd be competitive with each other. Also, I'm going to be doing Just Dance with him. Just saying.
🍒Who would have to be given reminders(remember to eat, don't forget your keys, etc.)?🍒
Both of us? I feel like it might just be a thing we do, like I'd remind him not to forget to eat and take breaks, he'd remind me what books I would need and that i do need to drink more than one drink a day. I guess it would just be a couple thing.
🍒Who sends memes and who sends cute things like "I miss you" texts at 3am?🍒
You see, this is where I said that me and Minho are similar, comes into play. I feel like we'd both spam each other with memes and then he'd say something like 'I miss you' and then I'd say 'I miss you too' and then its 'nah i don't actually' and then me calling him about fifty swear words and then spamming with a bunch of love hearts because I'm soft for one man, and that is Lee Minho.
So that is it, damn this was long, but i ain't lying when it comes to my special mango.💞💖💓💘💕💗💝
And Chan or Seungmin or any of you, if you're reading this, tell Minho I love him very much and am proud of him. Thank you 💗

anyway I'm seeing a new guy kind of and he's great like I honestly like him so much 🙃 he's a high school biology teacher and director/producer of pretentious artsy films inspired by STOKER and he like ... loves Lana Del Rey and wants us to have a LDR holiday party and is the only person I've ever met in the flesh who watched The Leftovers (he was like "the finale!!!" and then we both gasped "IT WAS A LOVE STORY THE WHOLE TIME") and he lent me a book and then found me doing a periscope live stream video in a bra after taking a bunch of ambien & kept commenting "did u read my book????" and this morning we were talking in bed and he was like "were doing a genetics unit in class and we're starting sex-linked disorders this week but two of my students are trans and I try to use the most inclusive language but sometimes I slip up and I feel like it's taking a toll on them" and then thirty seconds later he was like "so how much weed do you think we'd need to hotbox my walk in closet?" also he is bipolar too and I had a manic episode and dumped him & a bunch of other like two days ago and he ignored that I did that 😭 last night we were cuddling and he was asleep and he exclaimed "you're so TINY" and fell back asleep. he turns 30 in march and was like "so I'm gonna have my quarter life crisis!" this motherfucker wants to live to be 120 years old 😭 he calls me "ghost boner girl" because I messaged him on tinder about how when you yawn during October a ghost sticks their dick in your mouth and he keeps introducing me to his film friends because they all hang out at a hipster bar that has SWINGS and he's a functioning adult ... he wears lip balm and washes & moisturizers his face lmao he has the basics of hygiene down? anyway I haven't liked someone this much since the Scuba Dude incident of lasts December and I have no chill and bought him PRESENTS today like I just wanted to buy him gifts I guess? anyway that's my #life & im thriving. when we first met I asked for his wifi password and he was like "oh ... it's really embarrassing" because the network was named after his favourite movie (Upstream Colour) and the password was BestFilmEver which I guessed on the first try. he's excitable like a puppy and made me listen to his favourite Miley Cyrus song twice. also the sex? no TMI but it is good 😊
