The Jily Fandom Rec List 2024 is a compilation of Jily stories our readers want to keep an eye on for this year's awards.
AUGUST
A Matter of Fairness (completed, 3.9k) by @yallthemwitches. Rated E.
James' Quidditch match is derailed by a very distracting Head Girl.
stitch the wound (completed, 15.7k) by @loverscrossmp3. Rated T.
moments on a battlefield and in a home. there are only so many things you can do when in hiding before you begin remembering.
101 Padfoots (completed, 4k) by @tedwardremus. Rated G.
An accident in potions class results in 101 Padfoots running around Hogwarts while Lily and James work together to round them all up
swimming through sick lullabies (completed, 4.7k) by @gigglesandfreckles-hp. Rated T.
“So, I’ve got a question,” James says, leaning forward slightly. Lily nods without looking at him, busying herself with wiping the puddle of water from the condensation of the glass. “If you were meeting Kallus for a date, why’d you bring a book?” She looks up sharply, her cheeks flushing a soft pink. “What?” He smirks, letting his eyes flicker down toward the book in emphasis. “Were you anticipating a rubbish date?”
the dance of mischief and duty (completed, 3.5k) by @gigglesandfreckles-hp. Rated T.
Lily Evans is an infuriating mosaic of traits—beautiful and she knows it, captain of the House Quidditch team, and the loudest voice in nearly any room. She has this way of floating through the school, her laughter ringing out as she moves between corridors and classes, one arm usually slung around Sirius Black’s shoulder and the other gesticulating wildly as she spins tales of misadventure. But she also sort of has a point, and that’s possibly the most infuriating part about her.
the road to reunification is not so smooth (WIP, 10.2k as of 31 August 2024) by wisterial. Rated T.
Other than her persistent guilt and loneliness, Lily Evans is doing perfectly okay. That is, until her friends give her phone number to James Potter, an old schoolmate she would very much like to avoid. If that wasn't enough of a problem, Lily meets a boy in the local library, who appears just as lonely as her, and she begins to realize that he may be the son she gave up for adoption eight years ago. Or: The story of how Lily, James, and Harry reunite, and eventually learn how to be a family (with the help of time, their friends, and a lot of ice cream).
bad day wall (WIP, 14.8k as of 31 August 2024) by apalapucian. Rated M.
lily calls it the bad day wall. it's like this weird communal one-liner diary thing. every time i think i'm over her something happens and it hits me just as stupidly intense as all the other times. i'm SICK of it why can't people just LIKE by default the people they LOVE? why do they have to be separate feelings? it would make things so much less complicated or: in sixth year, lily starts talking to a stranger(?) through messages on a wall. she also befriends james potter. these two things are completely not related.
Guilty as Sin (WIP, 56.7k as of 31 August 2024) by ohevans. Rated E.
This is not sustainable. He cannot keep being so god damn perfect or it’s going to ruin her. It sort of already has, really. Lily Evans is a practical young woman, and having sex dreams about one’s best friend that leave one waking up hot and bothered at 3:32 in the morning is decidedly impractical. Especially when said friend—self-proclaimed early bird—started Mamma Mia! together over facetime at half-past eleven solely because she said she couldn’t sleep, even though he likes to get up early and go on long runs before work. And then she went and fell asleep mid-lyric to Dancing Queen and he sent her a string of text messages and stayed awake long enough to finish the movie, all the while she was passed out on the couch dreaming of his face between her thighs. Again. For the third night in a row. (It would be the eighth, but there was one night she had a stress dream about missing her Eighteenth Century Women’s Lit exam.) This is not sustainable.
Check out the previous months' recs too: January, February, March || April || May || June || July
And don't forget to check out the Jily Week 2024 masterlist!

THINGS TO LEAVE IN 2023
presented by your friendly neighbourhood jo ✨🩷
✨ being an arsehole: this doesn’t just apply to your fellow writers, gif makers or readers, but also to yourself. if you talk crap to yourself, you’re giving permission for others to talk to you in the same way.
✨ writing things you don’t like: so, you’re mid-series and you’re not feeling it. the worst that can happen is your wip is abandoned, and some people might be a touch annoyed? I know it feels bad, but also, by pushing yourself you risk burn out, writing sub-par work you hate and feeling disinterest in the thing you loved doing. overall, not good for either you or readers, so.
✨ feeling guilty for putting yourself first: there is only one you. sometimes we have to draw a line in the sand and put our hands up and go “I cannot do this rn” and that is okay. we also need to know which people to walk away from, which things to give our time to and continue to protect our energy. it takes a second to deplete our batteries and several business days for it to return—remember that.
✨ things that don’t bring us joy: whether that’s your mobile theme, a fandom, a pairing, a character, the list goes on, but let’s do the things we want to in 2024. let’s also surround ourselves with people who lift us up and let’s choose things which make us smile. let’s also celebrate ourselves a bit more, cause we’re all fucking amazing.
✨ the notion of “to write X you need to have Y”: the beauty of fandom is that we’re all playing around in a playground with a bunch of swing sets, slides and sand boxes. you want to write X!character going to space, go for it. (pls be sure to label and mark warnings for people tho, it’s not cute to blindside people).
Tumblr media
and because I’m a believer of growth, here are some things I’m gonna promise to do more of in 2024:
➡️ begin accepting compliments and not moon-walking away: because I know by not accepting them, I’m both telling myself they’re not true and also possibly running the risk of telling those who are complimenting me their opinion doesn’t matter. be easy on me though.
➡️ apologising for silly things: I’m gonna slip up, but I’m going to try and stop apologising for writing too much, being a bother (more so when I say hi and strike a convo) and for my mental health.
feel free to reblog and add on one or two goals you hope to do in 2024 ✨

note: sorry for answering so late anon 😭 this is a very old wip that i dug up from my drafts but i hope u guys enjoy it
warnings: fluff, modern au
Tumblr media
tanjirou kamado : his first thought is that maybe you didn't hear him.
he stops dicing up the vegetables he was working on and turns to you. "did you hear me, darling? i said i love you."
"yes, i know." you have to fight to keep a straight face.
you can see the gears turning in his head. "is everything okay?"
"yeah, everything's good."
"are you mad? did something happen- did i do something?" the frown on his face almost makes your façade crumble.
you glance at your phone, hidden away on a nearby shelf where tanjirou can't see it recording him. you struggle between two options, drop the prank and reassure your loving boyfriend, or continue and make yourself feel guilty...
'i might hate myself after this,' you think to yourself before getting your act together.
"no, why would i be mad, tanjirou?"
he's put the knife down by now, and is shifting closer to you, concern lacing his soft features. "are you sure?"
"yes, tanjirou." you nod. your boyfriend freezes.
"what?"
you haven't called him tanjirou since... well, he can't even remember. it was always either an endearing petname or nickname.
you play dumb, tilting your head innocently. "what, is something wrong, tanjirou?"
it seems your boyfriend has finally had enough, "yes, something's wrong! why are you calling me tanjirou? and why haven't you said it back??" his expression is downcast, like a kicked puppy and you finally break.
"i'm sorry, baby." you throw your arms around the brunette, "it's just a prank, don't worry." you point out your phone and tanjirou audibly sighs in relief.
"you really scared me, love. i thought you were mad at me.." he's quick to squeeze you tight to his chest.
"i love you so much, tanji. i'm sorry for pranking you," you say sincerely.
"i'm just glad everything is okay. i don't know what i'd do if you suddenly stopped loving me," tanjirou mumbled against the crown of your head.
you pull away in shock, "'stop loving you'?? as if that's possible?? i'll never stop loving you, so don't say things like that."
tanjirou giggles, "i'll never stop loving you either, darling."
Tumblr media
inosuke hashibara : immediately thinks you've lost hearing or something. because why else wouldn't you say it back??
"did you go deaf or something??"
inosuke is staring at you with his hands planted on his hips and a pout on his lips to show his frustration.
"hm? no, i heard you, ino." you mumble without looking up at him, instead focused on a scrolling across the screen of your phone.
inosuke grunts in confusion, "are y'sure?"
"mhm, i heard you." you shift on the couch where you lay so that your back is to inosuke.
and this gesture shocks him. seeing you turn your back towards him.. now he's convinced something's wrong.
"hey! why're ya acting like that??" he pouts harder, his arms moving to cross over his chest.
"like what, ino?" you sigh, turning up the volume off your phone to tick him off.
"i said i love ya and.. y'ignored me!" he moves from where he stood by your head at the armrest to stand in front of the couch, your back still facing him.
"oh, did i?" you shrug, barely acknowledge his movement with a look over your shoulder.
"y..yeah, y'did!" he grumbles, resolve crumbling.
you finally turn to face him, "so? do i have to say it back?" your resolve is crumbling too.. this act is getting hard to keep up.
inosuke's jaw drops, "yeah! f'course you do!" his pout becomes less frustrated and more disappointed, "how am i s'posed to know you love me back if ya don't say it..??"
and that's the final blow to your mask. you sit up hurriedly, standing up to pull him into your arms, "aw.. i'm sorry, ino. of course i love you.. i promise it was just a prank, sorry love."
inosuke melts into your hug until the word prank. he pulls his face away from where it was buried into the crook of your neck. "a prank..? i- i knew that! i just wanted to.. prank you back." he says, knowing that both you and him are aware that it's a poorly strung lie.
you rub his back soothingly, deciding to fuel his ego a bit. "ahh, i see. well.. you really got me then, ino. you had me completely fooled, baby."
Tumblr media
zenitsu: poor guy thinks you're gonna leave him 😭
"y/n.. i said i love you." zenitsu looks up from where his head was laid in your lap.
"mhm, i heard." you murmur flatly, eyes on the tv.
his expression twists into concern, "you heard? so.. why didn't you say it back..?"
you shrug, expression still blank. "didn't feel like it, i guess."
zenitsu scrambles off of your lap to sit up on the couch next to you, "you don't love me anymore?"
"i didn't say that," you finally turn to look up at him, schooling your expression.
zenitsu stares at you, wide eyed with worry. "but.. if you don't say it back that means you don't love me.. and if you don't love me that means you don't want to be with me.. and if you don't want to be with me that means you're gonna leave me.. if you leave me..--"
he goes on until you cut him off with a hand on his knee. "zen, it was just a prank. sorry baby."
zenitsu looks down at your hand on his knee before looking up at you, expression confused. "so do you love me?"
"of course i do."
zenitsu lets out a breath that seems to have held all his stress. "oh thank god.." he shifts to pull you into a bone-crushing hug, "don't do that again! what if i had a heart attack??"
"sorry, zen." you grin as he buries his head into the crook of your neck, hand coming to run through his hair. "i love you, zen."
"that's good." he murmurs against your neck, "i love you too."

I loove in the reflection, WHy did you get bad comments ? Are people mad?
Alright so I've been thinking since last night whether or not to answer this, but I got a comment this morning that cemented the decision for me, because I want to explain what I mean and you asked very nicely.
First of all, thank you for your kind words, im super happy you like my writing! That makes me genuinely happy, because when I write, I write so I can bring at least a piece of joy I feel while writing to the people who are reading my works.
Thats very kind of you to ask about the comments, too, and here we go.
When I said i got bad comments, i did not mean outright hate or "your writing sucks". That is obviously not true and wouldn't impact me, plus, only registered users can comment on my fics and people are much less inclined to be hateful when not on anon. It was comments like these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These were left on a couple of my wips, and there are more like this but these are the first two i could find. These comments are bad in a sense that they are entitled, demoralising, and prone to make me much less inclined to write anything any time soon.
Writers and authors live on feedback. We feed on it and there is nothing that makes us happier than knowing that people enjoy our work. When the readers tell us this, it genuinely feels like we are on top of the world. A simple heart emoji in the comments is enough to make my day, and not to speak of in-depth analyses that I cherish with my whole being and re-read every time I'm in a slump or need a pick-me-up. All these comments, short and long, are inspiring and make me want to write more. People discussing my fics with me makes me want to write more. Anyone saying "this brought me joy" makes me want to write more and give more joy out in the universe. The loop is neverending.
However, comments like these have the exact opposite effect. I (and other fanfiction writers, but let me talk about me here, and my writer friends may add whatever they want, if they are so inclined) do this for free. I do this in my free time for the sheer joy of sharing a story in my head. I write for myself and for the story I'm telling, but I appreciate knowing that that story brought someone joy, or relief, or a way to put names to the feelings they may be feeling. What I do not appreciate is being made to feel like I am a content producing machine. What I don't appreciate is demands for updates cloaked in seemingly harmless compliments that really aren't that. I "forced you to leave a comment"? What does that mean? "My heart dropped when I saw [this was a wip]"? Why do you project your feelings on me? Why do you think I would be flattered that you left a comment that is, at its basis, just a demand for more content? I am taking these in as good faith as I can, but impact always trumps intent, and the impact of these comments on me personally is "I don't want to write anything in these universes again".
Fic writing is a community. It's a two way relationship between writers and readers, and, like any ecosystem, it thrives on mutual recognition and appreciation. I do not feel appreciated when I get a comment like this. I feel guilty for not writing, which is insane since I am and adult person with a full life who does this for fun and for free. I feel angry, because it makes me feel like I should be putting out 20k works every other day to stay "relevant", and what does that relevance even mean? I've been writing fics for years. AO3 is an archive. It's not an algortihm driven site that favours only new "content". I read fics from 2009 and comment regularly, because that's how an archive and fandom works. It's not tiktok, it's not instagram. So I refuse to bow to the demand of "write something new immediately or basically fuck you". It makes me feel disheartened, because I am a writer, and I hold myself to a certain standard, and a good story takes time.
Now don't get me wrong. For every one of these comments I get at least two lovely ones. And I focus on those because they are the ones that give me inspiration and joy. But I am also human, and sometimes, I am so fucking tired, and I can't just ignore this.
Did you know, well, you didn't, you can't, but I'll tell you anyways. I have been itching to write lately but I never got the time, and so I cleared up my day today to deal with some administrative things I need to do in rl and left the rest of the day free for myself to write? I thought I might finally finish this one chapter of a wip I've been writing on and off. And then I wake up to a comment like the ones above, and guess what? I'm not writing shit :) all my inpiration flew out of the window and burned in the heat of this obscene summer, and that's it. That's what these kinds of comments do. That's why I call them bad. Because they are bad.
I am lucky to have faith in my skills as a writer, so I am not worried about that. I know I am a comparatively good writer, and I personally like the things I write. But I wonder what comments like these do to people who are less certain and more insecure in their writing skills? I wonder how it impacts them? I wonder how many people stopped writing because they couldn't cope with the guilt and the pressure these kinds of comments produce?
So there. That's my answer. And I want it stated clearly that I didn't post these comments to call anyone out personally. I posted them because I needed to show them as examples and to explain and maybe make some people understand what your thoughtlessness and entitlement does. Food for thought, innit?

20 Questions for 20 Writers
tagged by @baronessblixen and @randomfoggytiger
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 24
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 364,789
3. What fandoms do you write for? Only X-Files, although sometimes I have thoughts.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Chicken Dinner, Pause, The Kaleidoscope, The Boy on the Beach, The Marriage Spectacular
5. Do you respond to comments? Not every time. I do in bursts. I feel guilty if I respond to some and not others, so sometimes I just respond to none, especially if it's a long story and I'm posting chapters everyday. I wish it were otherwise, because I sincerely do like engaging with comments.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I've answered this question before, and I think I decided it was either (1) Opposition and Synthesis, which is a post-Requiem fic that no one has read, written between season 7 and 8, on Gossamer or (2) Ice Water, which was a fic I wrote for an exchange, also beginning of season 8, which is on AO3. Both of them have the same source of angst, which is the season 8 overall angst: missing Mulder.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Most of my fics have happy endings. I do try not to sew things up too tightly--I prefer to keep it a little open-ended, with the possibility that things could still be complicated, because I guess that feels more real to me. And more in universe, I suppose.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Not very often. Sometimes. There was someone recently on a fic who went on a rant about me hating Mulder, but it mostly made me laugh. (Y'all. Let me assure you. This girl does not hate Mulder. She is a ridiculous Mulder champion.) I haven't been that upset by hate on my fics. I've been more upset by seeing hate on other people's.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I have. It's always a struggle for me, possibly because I'm not a super visually oriented person. I have betas who help me with this a lot, and I'm grateful to them. I do tend to want smut to feel organic to the story; I don't like when it feels tacked on. (Although listen, I don't judge anyone who wants that either; fanfic is for fun lol.)
10. Do you write crossovers? No.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? I don't think so.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Someone asked me if they could translate one of my fics to Russian once. I assume that happened.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Not yet, but mulling that over with some co-authors now.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship? Mulder and Scully. Sometimes I admit I will also read some Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I have many WIPs. Maybe 8-10. I don't post WIPs any more because that experience is too stressful for me; I prefer to wait until the whole thing is done and post then.
16. What are your writing strengths? I revise and rewrite a lot. Dialogue. I used to think I was bad at plotting, but I'm getting better.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I get certain phrases and words in my head and keep reusing them without thinking about it. Then my beta makes fun of me for saying "scowl" 150 times in one chapter. Also, I struggle with visualizing a space and how characters are moving in it. My betas are always like: "What side of the table is he sitting on?" "Where is her leg?" "Is she on the side of the couch with the fish tank or no?" I don't think of these things very well naturally.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? All of my fic is in English, my first and best (by far) language. I would never write in another language unless I had a native speaker willing to help me with this. I included a few lines of Spanish in one fic, but I double and triple checked that. (And it was almost nothing! )
19. First fandom you wrote for? X-Files, unless you count things I wrote as a kid about books.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written? This is hard, but I do love Boy on the Beach, which I researched quite a bit and very carefully plotted out. I also like We're Not Here To Talk About Personal Problems, which was the first fic I wrote for an exchange, an X-Cops post-ep, and really felt like me getting back into new fic.
Randomfoggytiger's additional questions:
1. Is writing a hobby or way of life?
A hobby, but also kind of a way of life, as it's tangential to how I make money, and it's always something I've done regularly.
2. A journal full of writing notes or a clean, completed manuscript?
Is this what I prefer? Clean, completed manuscript then. I don't like paper journals at all, so while I do have notes, they're only in Google Docs.
3. Who (or what) is your writing inspiration?
I don't have a specific event, person, or work of art. I will say I think I am influenced by having had some training writing for the stage. I often write dialogue first and then fill in everything else around it. And I think about plays I've read or seen a lot when I write.
4.Which is worse: someone you "idolize" reading your first draft or listening to you sing?
First draft. I revise a lot. And I'm an amazing singer, or at least I am so far as you know.
5. Has writing from someone else's POV ever changed your own perspective?
I feel like I should say yes, but no, not that I can remember specifically.
6. Tumblr, AO3, LiveJournal, or FFN?
AO3
7. AO3 wordcount, and are you satisfied with it?
364,789 - Am I satisfied? I don't know. Do I win something at a particular number? Assuming no, the number doesn't really matter to me. I would be sad if I never posted anything again though, because I enjoy it.
8. What movie/book/fic gripped you irrevocably? I really loved From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler when I was a kid.
9. What's the highest compliment you could ever be given, and have you been given it? I've received such generous feedback on my fic of every kind, and honestly I could never hope to say which kind was the best. I'm grateful for that. I will say that someone told me on Pause that my D.C. geography was spot on, and I was really thrilled about that, since I spent quite a bit of time "driving" from Georgetown to Alexandria on Google Maps / Street View to see what it would be like.
10. What defines your writing style?
Dialogue. Angst. I don't know. What else? It's hard for me to see!

How’s everyone doing? I’ll go first, I’m bad!
I have been ~*~struggling~*~ since mid-September and in the last two weeks it has just gotten unbearable. I feel like I’m drowning all the time. I’m having trouble keeping up with and reaching out to people I want to talk to. And that’s like, on top of always having been bad at getting back to people. *stares forlornly at the ask Chaz sent me like, literally two years ago that I think about daily but just. haven’t. RESPONDED TO.*
Things are just. Closing in on all sides unfortunately. I’ve been sick several times. I bounced this month’s rent check. A thing I had NEVER DONE BEFORE IN MY LIFE before this last move. My job is literally never going to pay me what I’m worth. Or anyone what they’re worth, frankly. I broke down in front of my boss the other day and just sobbed for an hour because after I pay my bills every paycheck I have just enough left over to buy groceries for two weeks, if I’m careful, and little else. Which means I’m putting stuff like gas on credit cards, which isn’t helping the debt that makes me feel like drowning in the first place.  I’ve been at this job SEVENTEEN YEARS. A steady, corporate job. And I’ve never once in my entire time there made an actual cost of living raise!! The cost of living just keeps raising without me! (And also everyone else, I know!)
I’m super overdue on getting people the art they commissioned from me, but my brain just hasn’t been in a good enough place to create much of anything, and I keep thinking I have to get this done and then thinking they deserve better than this, around and around on a loop ad finitum. And there are a couple of other things going on personally that just fucking blow that I don’t know how to fix and I’m just gonna choke on it.
I haven’t done any fandom stuff since NYCC. I haven’t written on my WIP. I haven’t read fic. I don’t check in on the madness happening on twitter. I’ve barely popped my head into my favorite pirate group chat over the last five months or so. I miss doing all of that so much and my stupid brain is so broken that even when I try I can’t enjoy it.
Shit. I’m having a hard time getting work work done. I just sit down at my desk every day, answer emails, and then spend five or so hours frozen with anxiety because there’s too much to do and doing nothing is only making it worse every day.
I need to be back in therapy ASAP, but unfortunately you can’t eat therapy so I can’t pay for it!!
And I feel guilty saying any of this to almost everyone I would usually talk to. (Congrats and condolences to the rest of you!) Because they’re having a harder time than me. Or because they’d just want to give me a bit of money about it, which would fuck me up even more. Or because it’s just tedious and boring and no one wants to listen to me talk about this over and over again, even though it’s all my brain does every hour of every day. It’s a wonder I’m ever able to talk about anything else.
My boss is pretty great, in spite of it all. She’s constantly supportive (to the extent she can be), and she just. She tells me all the time how creative and wonderful and smart and cool to know I am. And every time I just like, tear up, because none of it feels true. But I also tear up when my friends and my partner say those things too. Because to me, a full grown adult without a savings or a 401K or the ability to like, go get drinks just because I want to, I feel like a complete and utter failure.  So like. Whatever I guess!!
I need to find a new job that pays me way more. Then I can get a therapist to fix my brain and save money to pay down my debts and have money to have fun with my friends and not feel like a constant financial burden on everyone. Then I can have the brain power back to maybe work on my fic or complete that art or like, I don’t know, talk to the people who actively want to talk to me. You wouldn't think that part would be so hard, but it really, really is.
I’m working on it. I’ll keep working on it. I have LinkedIn open right now. I’m gonna fucking sob through it, but that doesn’t mean none of it will get done.
In the meantime, if anyone knows of a good way to make a quick $30 grand, I’m all ears.

20 questions for fic writers
How many works do you have on A03? 25
What's your total word count? 454 434 words
What fandoms do you write for? Supernatural. My first english fics were about Teen Wolf. Before that, I wrote in french about House MD and Stargate Sg1.
Top 5 fics by kudos:
Baby One More Time (sterek): 4 142 kudos
Carry You Home (sterek): 2 157 kudos
Fancy and the Tramp (destiel): 1 147 kudos
But she's the Devil in Disguise (sterek): 1 030 kudos
Grace my Soul (destiel): 891 kudos
Do you respond to comments?
Not all of them. Mostly because sometimes I'm not sure how to respond and feel ridiculous saying the same thing again and again. I appreciate them all though. They all make me so happy and I'm grateful to those who takes the time to leave one. They always make my day.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Like Clipped Petunias (destiel). This is my darkest fic. I've had people telling me they had PTSD from it. The end is really angsty and horrifying. It was not supposed to end this way, but this is where the story took me. In the end, I think it fits.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Grace my Soul (destiel) comes to mind. Baby Jimmy is such a delight and the last chapter of that fic is my favorite one.
Do you get hate on fics?
I don't remember ever getting any. I did have a few problems with people stealing my stories or posting them elsewhere. In the past, I also had a few stalkers/stans sending messages that creeped me out (especially for my french fics).
Do you write smut?
Yes! I didn't used to for Teen Wolf, but I've realized that fic with a higher rating tends to get more views (which I get because I rarely read pg13 or under myself), so I started writing it. I both love and hate writing those parts. It always feels kind of awkward to share those imageries, I'm never sure what words to use or how far I should go.
Craziest crossover?
I have a WIP that was a Psych/Teen Wolf crossover.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes. More than once. I've had a few cases of people putting their own name on my stories, but mostly people repost it without my consent on other websites such as wattpad. Ao3 is the only place I post, so if you see one of my story elsewhere, it's been stolen. Please warn me if you do.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! It's such an amazing thing to think about! I have had translations in spanish, russian and chinese.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Once or twice. To be honest, I think I'm too OCD for it to work, I want it exactly as I want it lol. Help from betareaders is precious though, sometimes they write a couple paragraphs for me, or help me reformulate some things better, or just brainstorm the stoyline with me and give me brillant ideas. Fics are always better with some help.
All-time favorite ship? Destiel forever bb
What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Frozen Inside (sterek) is the only WIP I've ever posted. I feel terribly guilty about it because it's been more than half a decade now and people are still asking me for a sequel. Sometimes I read it over and try, but it's just...done. Thankfully, the last chapter could be taken as a end. Kind of. God, I feel awful and I'm so sorry.
I also have tons of unpublished wip that are nearly over. I wish I'll be able to end them, because there are some stories I really really like.
What are your writing strengths?
Hyperfocus. My best stories come out that way. I'll write fifty thousand words in two days or not at all. Sadly, I can't control it. Inspiration also tend to come at the exact moment I can't possibly write, which is sooo frustrating.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Description and world building. I tend to focus too much on the action and dialogues, but forget to tell about where they are and when. I let readers fill the blank way too often, which is something I really need to work on. I've been trying to rewrite some of my fics into original stories and that made it very obvious to me.
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
It depends. Sometimes the translation is in the end note and it can put me out of the story, especially if it's an important part of the dialogue. If it's just a few words or if it's done in a way you understand it anyway, it can be beautiful!
First fandom you ever wrote in? Stargate SG1.
Favorite fic you've written?
The Guy Next Door (destiel), I think. I laughed, I cried, I squealed, I facepalmed. I must have looked like a maniac writing that story. Castiel was very fun to write for that one. Dean...I wanted to slap Dean so many times while I wrote. I had no control over him, I swear, he kept on being an idiot and made me scream at my screen.
I was surprised earlier, that this fic is not in the top five stories because it's one of my personal favorite.
This exercise was very fun to do. I won't tag anyone, if you feel like doing it, just do it, I'm curious to read about all of you!

@avengers-resident-idiot
From one to five stars, how would you rate your writing? (No downplaying yourself!)
About a 3 I think, I hav𖤓 liz 𖤓en’t written anything in a while because I’ve been busy with work and school. I struggle with actually finishing anything, I swear my drafts is a graveyard of WIPs. Once I get done with my finals I plan to actually try and sit down and actually write a fic or at the very least headcanons
2. What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works?
I feel like my writing is very self indulgent, I fantasize for literal days or weeks about what I personally would want to happen and imagine myself as the reader in the fic and just run with it. I have tried a few times to write an idea that a friend gives me and I just struggle cause I get stuck in my own head wondering if I’m writing it how they personally would want it.
3. Are there any writers that inspire you?
Literally everybody in the server, the fact that y'all are so imaginative and are so motivated to write fics on a consistent basis never fails to amaze me, I am on my knees begging for a crumb of the kind of motivation y’all got.
4. What’s the fic you’re most proud of?
Honestly probably the very first fic I ever wrote, which was a Zayn Malik fanfiction (I was a HUGE One Direction fan…honestly I still am). It was terrible, and so ridiculously cringey but to middle school me, I was the next Shakespeare  and was just proud that I actually wrote something and put it on the internet for the world to see and I regret nothing.
5. Which character(s) do you find easiest to write and which do you find most difficult to write?
The easiest is probably Peter Parker cause he’s such a sassy little shit and I love him. The hardest is probably Dr. Spencer Reid, I’ve tried before and I just can’t get his mannerisms right.
6. Who or what do you find yourself writing about most?
I feel like my most of my wips are friends to lovers with misunderstandings galore
7. Tell us about a WIP you’re excited about!
I’ve been planning this fic out in my head for the past month, idk for sure what I’m gonna call it, but it’s gonna be an Evan “Buck” Buckley x reader fic, I’m considering adding Eddie Diaz into the mix cause honestly it’s what we deserve. Basically the reader is going to open up a bakery across from the fire station and our lovely firefighters can’t resist the smell of warm bread and coffee in the morning so they go and meet Reader (considering giving her a nickname) who is dancing to 80’s music and may or may not be covered in flour, and from there hijinks, first dates, and love confessions ensue.
8. First fandom you ever wrote for?
One Direction and I regret nothing
9. Any guilty pleasure trope(s)?
Ooo  misunderstandings that can be easily resolved if they JUST TALK, found family tropes almost always make me cry, fake dating never fails to make me laugh because the characters never think it through and I love that for them with that being said idiots to lovers is another big one, especially if they share exactly one brain cell.
10. A trope you’ll never, ever write for.
Probably anything dark, nothing wrong with dark fics, I just don’t think I’d ever be able to write a dark fic well enough where it was actually understandable or good for that matter.
11. Wildest fic you’ve ever written?
Another One Direction fanfiction, but this time Liam Payne, it's since been deleted but basically gang leader!Liam and the reader were highschool sweethearts and broke up cause Liam betrayed her, if i remember right he gets her brother arrested? Years later she comes back to town and is part of an all girls gang and Liam's gang (One Direction) start fighting over territory, there were drunken confessions, a secret child, and attempted kidnappings and literally every other chapter one of them almost died. Middle school me was very proud of it.
12. Favorite pairing to write for? (platonic or romantic!)
Steve Rogers x innocent!reader, knight!Bucky x princess!Reader, Evan “Buck” Buckley x reader
13. Do you listen to anything while you write?
Yes, I have so many playlists, everytime I get an idea for a fic I run to Spotify and immediately create a new one and add songs that fit the vibe I’m going for, doesn’t matter what genre or language so long as I think it fits it gets added to the playlist.
14. One-shots or multi-chaptered works?
Definitely both, I am not picky whatsoever.
15. Have you ever daydreamed about side adventures/spin-offs from your fic? Tell us about them!
Omg yes, I honestly think this is part of the reason it’s so hard for me to finish writing anything. The second I get a new idea for a fic I start imagining all sorts of different scenarios I could put them in like trips to the zoo, grocery shopping or like the same scenes from the fic, but from another character's point of view. Even if it’s not going to be part of the fic I imagine what the proposal would be like, what their vows would be, or how they'd react to their first child being born. My mind goes a hundred miles a minute when I get a new idea, but the second I sit down to write it out poof all the ideas are gone.
16. Is there anything you’ve wanted to write, but you’ve been too scared to try?
Honestly smut. There are so many talented writers out there who do a great job at writing smut, but whenever I try it just comes out to stiff and doesn’t sound write, so I always end up deleting it
17. What’s the nicest comment you’ve ever received?
I was once told I was very good at descriptions, they said they could picture the night sky in their mind and it was like they were there.
18. Have you ever gone outside of your comfort zone for a fic? How did it turn out?
Eh not really, I usually stick to fluff, humor and slight angst, I want to try step out of my comfort zone by writing smut, but it’ll be a while before I post anything
19. Tooth-rotting fluff or merciless angst?
Oh my gosh how could I possibly choose, most of the time it just depends what kind of mood I’m in but lately it’s been tooth-rotting fluffy with a tiny bit of angst mixed in
20. Do you have any OCs? Tell us about them!
At this point in time I do not have any oc’s, but I’m considering creating one for my Evan “Buck” Buckley fic.
21. If you could enter the universe of any one of your fics, which would it be and why?
Probably my WIP Knight!Bucky Barnes x Princess!Reader because who wouldn’t want to be protected by an extremely handsome Bucky who acts like you're a nuisance, but would do anything to protect you no questions asked if ever necessary?? And also I just love the idea of running down a castle hallway at night wearing a floor length ball gown.
22. Is there anything you wish your audience knew about your writing or writing process?
Just that my process involves creating the perfect playlist for that specific fic and tons of daydreaming, and while it may take me a long time to finally finish writing, I’m always excited to share it and get feedback!
23. Copy and paste an excerpt you’re particularly fond of.
This is from my knight!Bucky Barnes x Princess!reader wip
“Do you think I am inadequate because I am a female, my Lord? Is that what you’re saying? You think that I am unfit to rule because I'm a little emotional right now?  Well you’re right, I am a little emotional right now. From the moment I was born, it was known that I, and I alone, would be next in line to assume the throne. My entire life was spent preparing for the moment that my reign would begin and I intend to use all the knowledge my father, may God rest his soul, taught me.  Just two weeks ago I watched as they lowered my father’s cold, dead body into the ground and not a week later a crown was placed atop my head…. a crown I thought my father would be giving me.  I am emotional because right now at this very moment there are rebels out there, only God knows where, hatching plans to storm this castle! This castle has stood here for 300 hundred years and I intend for it to stand for many more. I refuse to let the rebels take my country and everything that my family has worked for.  Now, we have much more pressing matters to deal with than your fragile egos, don’t you think my Lords?”
24. Ramble about any fic-related thing you want!
Have fun with writing! Don’t worry about whether or not the idea you want to write has been written before because it most definitely has been, but it’s never been written by you!
I’m excited to finally be done with my classes and I hope to to write more and post my fics throughout the summer!

Potentially controversial opinion but the way to reduce the number of fics being deleted and to increase the number of fics that you want to read is to:
Support WIPs if you like the concept, even if it's just with a bookmark (bonus points for reading along and commenting on every chapter, even if it's just with emojis)
Comment and tell the writer you love it and WHY, or just express thanks for them writing it
Share the fic with others and encourage them to comment
Appreciate fic writers instead of taking them for granted
Recognize that fic writing is gift culture and not content creation and that writers get zero compensation for writing other than interaction with readers
Request the kinds of fic/dynamics you'd like to see rather than demanding anything. (IE: You write so and so together so well! Have you ever thought of exploring X? Or: This backstory is so interesting. Would you ever flesh it out more? Or: I'd love to see your take on X.)
NOT
Guilting writers for deleting a fic and saying it's a crime or that you feel "cheated" if someone takes down their work
Making a writer feel guilty because some hypothetical somebody somewhere who never told them so might have liked that work
Criticiizing fic to the author's face or in public (either constructively or not) when feedback wasn't explicitly asked for. (Discussing the merits of a fic in private is fine)
Only shouting about fic in private and never telling the author you love their work
Only reading completed fics and never commenting/otherwise supporting. There are plenty of valid reasons to only read completed fics, but realize that if you don't support fics as they're being written, you will get less of the kinds of fic you like and fewer fics will be completed
Generally acting entitled to fic
Whining that you hate when fic writers do X or that there isn't enough of X dynamic or otherwise trying to dictate what authors should and shouldn't write
Just be positive, folks! Fanfic is a community. I will churn out thousands of words a week if people tell me they're enjoying it. If I get no interaction, that fic is a lot more likely to never be completed or even deleted.
You don't have to unconditionally support all fic writers. It's totally fine to just to kind of like a fic and not comment (though if you read it all the way through, I think at least a kudos is warranted.) But if you DO love it, please please please tell us so, even with just a heart emoji.
The silent enjoyment of fic with no expression of that to the author is what slowly kills fandom - as does positioning us as content creators who get something simply by posting, or by criticizing what and how much we write.
This is especially important if the fic is a rarepair, or a weird concept, or otherwise offbeat. If it's your kind of thing and you don't see very much of it, shout about it! I've definitely deleted or abandoned fics that were a little weird because I felt embarrassed by the fact that no one else was matching my freak.

Hello! I was wondering how you feel about Bingliushen, since you like Bingqiu and Liushen separately.
hello hello! in theory, i love bingliushen! i'm a very big fan of "sqq has two hands, have bingqiu and liushen both at once" !!
...in practice, i tend to not like it so much 😂
i apologize for my crimes, but i just don't like bingliu at all :') i'm pretty into multishipping sqq, but when it comes to lbh, i really only like him with sy/sqq...
so, when bingliushen is done old-fandom style where it's more of a sqq harem, i'm very into it! but generally, bingliushen tends to focus on where the tension naturally lies in the pairing - aka "making bingliu get along" - which tends to shift a lot of bingliushen's focus to bingliu itself.
i'm guilty of this too, btw, so i totally get why it happens!! i have an old abandoned bingliushen wip in my folders that i let grow dusty specifically because it was difficult to find a way to write it in a way where i could sideline the bingliu. they aren't the sort to naturally share in general, let alone share with each other, so every plot i could think of was forced to address that, and address it in a slow and steady way.
i have recently thought up a different bingliushen plot idea that i do think could let me just focus on the bingqiu/liushen V-style ship with bingliu as simply united over their care for sqq and only barely friends outside of that, though, so maybe i'll take another stab at it someday soon!

20 questions for fic writers
Hey @cha-melodius thanks for tagging me in this!
How many works do you have on ao3?
23
What's your total ao3 word count?
329,905
What fandoms do you write for?
RWRB and A Marvellous Light (The Last Binding trilogy). I've been thinking about writing for We Could be So Good by Cat Sebastian since I read it last week. I loved it so much I binge read 3 other books by the same author straight after, and then turned right back to WCBSG. Book rec for everyone who's not read it!
Top five fics by kudos:
Deep Blue
Just Like That.
Oxford Days
In His Wildest Dreams
A tie for fifth! Have One (On Me) and Tumbled Down and Tangled Up
Do you respond to comments?
Yes! Unless they're a bit dodge lol
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
This is the question that reminds me I've done this game before hehe. I'm only interested in happy endings so this is hard to choose, but Don't Wanna Be A Fool For You is quite angsty and ends just as they're getting over the angst, so I have to go with that.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I always write happy endings, BUT, if I must choose, I'm gonna go with a non-RWRB fic here. in your room, like a temple is an epilogue of sorts to A Marvellous Light, and it makes me SO HAPPY to have written this settled future for Robin and Edwin.
Do you get hate on fics?
Not usually, though I did get a couple of annoying comments on my first threesome fic from people who thought their own vision of monogamy for Alex and Henry was something they had to come and tell me about 🙄
Do you write smut?
hahahahhaaaaaaaa yes
Craziest crossover:
Never done one
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I know
Have you ever had a fic translated?
No! Someone did ask me about translating Deep Blue but I don't think they've followed through with it. I'd love it though
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No
All time favorite ship?
Alex and Henry
What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Oooh, I don't have any WIPs on ao3 to feel guilty about. What sits on my hard drive is between me and my atheist god (also me)
What are your writing strengths?
Yikes, ok! Here are things I like about my writing: I like the way I write smut that's super emotional AND super hot, and all the different ways I've come up to make smut scenes different from each other (because writing them can sometimes feel repetitive from my perspective). I like the way I play with rhythm in sentences and build tension in scenes. I like the way I build emotional and sexual tension in a piece overall. Please no one drop into the notes to tell me they disagree 😂
What are your writing weaknesses?
I CANNOT come up with external obstacles! Whenever I'm trying to plot something out and I'm trying to come up with BIG PLOT REASONS to keep people apart, my brain just freezes. I love internal obstacles, the emotional reasons why people choose to do the things they do, but as for external things to move the plot along (think Jeffrey Richard leaking emails, Queen Mary telling Henry how to live his life) I'm just... ultimately uninterested in them. Which is fine if it's a choice, and I love a lot of writing just like that, but I wish my brain could at least TRY.
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
Like it.
First fandom you wrote in?
RWRB
Favorite fic you've written?
Haha good one. Changes all the time. Current fave: Paper Chains, I think (a personal stab to my heart how much it's underrated). I tried something new for me with the structure, and I think the emotional punches hit so hard, I'm so proud of it. Or maybe the new one for RBB, called Foxden Park. Coming soon!
No pressure tags (and sorry if you've already done this and I've missed it!): @thesleepyskipper @firenati0n @welcometololaland @inexplicablymine @sparklepocalypse
@onetwistedmiracle @tintagel-or-cockleshells @historicallysam @cultofsappho @14carrotghoul
@suseagull04 @magicandarchery @itsmaybitheway @porcelainmortal @anincompletelist and anyone who fancies joining in! 😘

20 Questions for Fic Writers
thanks for the tag @jattendschaton and @miabrown007!! blowing u guys kisses
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
8 💪
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
105,963
3. What fandoms do you write for?
miraculous ladybug<3
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
this question is great bc nearly all of my 8 fics make it in👍
golden (like daylight)
call it even
at our wedding
circles & cycles (right back where you started)
no other shade of blue, but you
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
sometimes!! I try to!!! not as often as i wish i did :( I was pretty consistently replying on call it even for a while but then i fell behind and it got overwhelming😭 there are so many lovely ones I go back and reread all the time though!!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
no other shade of blue but you maybe? not sure if it counts as angsty it's very short and ends with marinette just being sort of sad and wistful. i'm not built for angsty endings<3
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
probably golden (like daylight)! that's definitely the one i'm proudest of at least.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
no not really!!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No👍
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
haha not yet but i've had an anastasia inspired fic in the works for soo long. one day i'll dust it off and finish
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that I know of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
nope
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
AHAHA YES I co-wrote call it even with my sister @sha-nwa!!! one of the most fun experiences of my life, abby's such an incredible writer and she did marinette so much justice.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
lovesquare (shocking)
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
i have tooons of wips in my google docs but i am wary of posting anything on ao3 that’s not a one shot/something i’m sure i’ll finish. one i think might be lost to time is my ladrien greek mythology wip💔
16. What are your writing strengths?
a lot of comments I get are related to prose/description so maybe that? I tend to spend a lot of time trying to pick out the exact right words for each sentence so that it has the sonic/rhythmic quality i'm going for. golden is probably the best example of this; I worked and reworked those sentences for many months until I was satisfied haha. I remember wanting it to feel sort of like the building of a song
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
my writing can be sort of dense and hard to get through sometimes!! I think I have a tendency to try and pack a lot into every sentence, which is fun for me to write, but can be difficult to get through as a reader. it's sort of the polar opposite to how I approach drawing silly comics, where the goal is to deliver the point/joke as clearly and effectively as possible. writing puts me in a much more contemplative headspace, which makes my fic not quite as digestable I think
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I admit i am guilty of peppering in random french words in ml fic whenever I feel like it 💔 I usually use italics though
19. First fandom you wrote for?
dear evan hansen I think? (<-I was a very specific type of annoying in high school)
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
have to give it to my og adrien essay golden (like daylight). it has all my favorite stuff. adrinette. what could loosely be called a plot. the word "something." I said what I needed to say
tagging anyone who wants to!!

WIP WHATEVER
i forgot to do a wip thing yesterday but i wanna see what y'all are working on, so here's just a general "show off some of your wips" tag(ish) game! if you see this in the fandom tag or because you follow me, consider yourself tagged <3
anyway here are things i'm primarily focusing on right now despite The Sleepy
I've Heard About People Like Me (TBITB)
The rumors begin almost immediately. Joe, with his customary anxiety, wonders aloud if he's ill. Johnny thinks injury is more likely.
"Family emergency, maybe? His folks live in town; he could be with them," Bobby says, muffled as he pulls his undershirt over his head. He emerges ruffled and frowning, rotating his shoulders with a wince.
Shorty carefully looks away from the flex of tendons in Bobby's slim neck. He doesn't believe any of these proposed theories - to him, they all sound like something Ulbrickson would have addressed immediately. Whatever's going on, it's worse than the average personal tragedy: it's the kind of tragedy you don't talk about.
Love You Like That (TBITB)
He barely thinks anymore about how unconventional it is to have Bobby sprawled next to him on the bed as he reads portions of the letter aloud, offering helpful and acerbic commentary in turn. But of course they’re on the bed - in was a special occasion that Bobby has never indicated a desire to repeat. Don would if he did, no questions asked.
Unconventional or not, Bobby is adorable like this, kicking his feet in the air and letter held at arms' length above his head. It's a distance from which Don certainly couldn't make out words, but Bobby has always had sharp eyes. Don only hopes they're too focused on the letter to notice how often Don has to tear his own gaze away to focus on his updated draft.
He's so consumed with not looking too obviously and making Bobby uncomfortable that he doesn't realize Bobby has reached the end of the letter - and, more importantly, that Bobby has stopped talking.
Then, after several minutes of silence, Bobby says, hesitant and hushed, "I'm your best friend?"
Tell Me (ATPM)
“It wouldn’t kill you to stare a little less,” Carl murmurs, as Sy Hersh slips into the men’s locker room and out of sight, white tennis shorts stretching across heavy thighs for just a moment before they’re gone.
“What?” Bob says, distracted.
Carl rolls his eyes, once, before looking Bob up and down illustratively and not a little lecherously. “He’s not the kind of guy to keep quiet if you hit on him too obviously. You’re lucky I didn’t rat you out.”
“Because you’re so free of sin,” Bob scoffs, to cover the discomfort of having been caught looking. He and Carl are by no means exclusive - far from it; privately Bob thinks the only reason they’re fucking each other at all is that neither of them have time to meet anyone else. But he still feels guilty.
Carl cocks his arm as if he’s about to throw his fluffy white towel in Bob’s face, only to change course and playfully scrub it over Bob’s sweaty hair, succeeding only in disordering it even further. “He who speaks first is a witness,” he says philosophically, echoing Rosenfeld’s wry mantra ever since John Dean scooped Magruder in the race to join the Watergate prosecution.
“He who speaks second is a defendant,” Bob agrees.
What Extraordinary Vehicles (ATPM)
“Why me? Why not Anderson, or Sheehan, or - hell, everyone knows you're leaking to TIME. You've clearly got a direct line to Sandy Smith. So why me?”
Bernstein's eyes are squinted, his voice sharp and uncompromising. He's suspicious - both in this moment and, Bob suspects, by nature. Good. Bob made the right choice after all.
He shrugs. “You’re putting in the work.”
“Yeah, I am," Bernstein says matter-of-factly. Some of that suspicion melts away, to be replaced with a reluctant smile. "Glad someone around here appreciates me.”
Damn it. Yes, Bob made the right choice. He can work with Bernstein. But he can't let himself grow to like him.
“Make something out of what I give you, and we’ll see if thats deserved," he says. He doesn't watch Bernstein's smile fade.

20 questions for writers
Thanks for the tag @wildsofmarch :)
(Answering most of these questions about wingdingery but including some counts from other accounts because I was curious.)
1. how many works do you have on AO3? 24 DC (78 total)
2. what's your total AO3 word count? 283,276 DC (795,332 total)
3. what fandoms do you write for? Dick Grayson (I’m usually tunnel visioned into one fandom for years at a time)
4. what are your top 5 fics by kudos? I don’t perceive stats/counts on my works or others’ thanks to a site skin so this is a mystery to me!
5. do you respond to comments? I try to! But I don’t have time consistently so I usually fall into the trap of falling behind → feeling guilty about replying late but also feeling guilty about replying to newer comments when I haven’t gotten through the older ones yet → paralyzed into not replying to anything → force myself to finally clear my inbox months later → run out of time and begin the vicious cycle all over again.
(But I do read all of them as they come in and appreciate them so much! The number of times I am driven to reread old works/write more due to a kind comment cannot be counted.)
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? once upon a time, maybe?
My non-happy endings are usually more ambiguous than overtly angstsy (on main, at least – the darkfic endings are equally angst, I think).
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I’ll pick hospitality for dummies just because I think that’s my lowest-stakes/happiest DC fic so far. But I do tend to write happy endings in general.
8. do you get hate on fics? The standard fare ship hate.
9. do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yep! I’m not really sure what “what kind” means… I’ll write pretty much anything if I’m in the right mood for it and I can make it make sense for the characters.
10. do you write crossovers? I like writing fusions but I’ve only contemplated writing one crossover in my life and never actually did it, so I think the answer is no.
11. have you ever had a fic stolen? Not as far as I know!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? right through my walls has a Spanish translation courtesy of Luck__y!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? I’ve done a lot of co-slinging-ideas-at-the-wall but I’ve never actually co-written a fic. I’m interested in trying it but my writing process is so wild that I’m reluctant to ask anyone to get near it. 😂
14. What's your all-time favorite ship? All-time is so hard to say! I shipped BruDick a long time ago and I’m back here now, so BruDick, I guess?
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will? If this question is referring to published WIPs, I will finish all of them. This year, even. You heard it here first.
(If unpublished… way too many to count, lol.)
16. What are your writing strengths? From what people have said, I think my top 3 are dialogue, characterization, and generally having wild/unexpected ideas (otherwise known as crack played so straight it develops angst).
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I think my writing is pretty plain. I have next to zero visual imagery (some people read or write like they’re watching a movie and seeing the scenes go by, but all I think in are words) so consequently my writing isn’t particularly descriptive unless I really try and figurative language is hard for me to come up with.
I used to stress about this a lot, but I’ve heard that this makes my writing feel easy to read, especially for non-native English readers, so I’ve made my peace with not being particularly poetic.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I always write limited third POV so I’ll typically use a phrasing like “…,” they said in [language] or They said something in [language] if the POV character doesn’t understand it. I only ever write it untranslated if something about the exact wording is relevant to the plot (but even then, I only highlight the specific word(s) after).
19. First fandom you wrote for? Nancy Drew… the yellow hardback books Nancy Drew…
20. Favourite fic you've written? Currently, make a mercy out of me. As much as I love writing fics with a lot of plot and action and shenanigans, it was really satisfying to craft a quiet character/relationship study that’s introspective without feeling too heavy.

A little update!
So, I joined the burn-out wagon.
It just happened, I don't even know. I want to upload more screenshots, I want to write new stuff, I want to continue at least one of my many WIPs, but then I sit there and nothing happens.
I am still in the middle of my almost 7-month-hyperfixation now, I still consume all the content this fandom has to give, but I feel it's all going slower now, and I know I'm not the only one struggling at the moment.
And I feel it's alright. We all need moments to take a breather, step back, gather ourselves. And even though I feel guilty for not providing more of the things that so many of you are following me for, I can't help it.
So while you wait for new smut pieces to drop or new sets of screenshots to spam your dash, I can only direct you to my vast collection of things I already did:
All of my one-shots and badly-neglected fics can be found here:
FANFICTION MASTERLIST
And every single of my many screenshots can be found in this and many other lists, all compiled here:
SCREENSHOTS MASTERLIST
I even feel bad promoting those lists, but it's just a means for you to keep busy while I try to work on that little fire problem I have in my head.
Let's hope the next time I post, it's something more productive! Until then, take care everyone!
