i’ve been following ur writing for some time now and i do have to agree with that anon who said you did CH dirty. you are a very talented writer so it’s just hard to watch.

you started off CH so strong with the lore and little chapters here and there but as it progressed you kind of just got lazy and it shows. when important events happened in the story, they weren’t conveyed through writing but through the texts (ie the riki and yn fight, that was definitely worth a written chapter) and it was honestly disappointing.

the ending isn’t much to say about either. yn and hoon barely go through development after the letter incident and all of a sudden they’re dating and married with a kid like two chapters later?

idk, if it was a mental health issue then i get that but even then you should’ve just gave it a break and thought everything out more. you could do so much better.

i wanna put you through the progess of a piece of writing from the POV of a writer okay? now keep in mind: i work two jobs, am a fulltime uni student and the daughter of an immigrant household with two parents who still work most of the day just so you know what else i have to deal with, besides my mental health okay?

now, i started off CH strong right? yes. i uploaded on the daily, fine i chose that. a chapter usually takes me around one hour if i actually sit down and focus on nothing but the chapter itself, which includes IG stories, editing, formatting etc. alright

on top of the daily chapters, i constantly replied to 40+ asks a day, a blessing in disguise because no matter how much i enjoy talking to you guys, the pressure does get worse the bigger that number of my inbox becomes, i hope this makes sense

now, i started CH back in october, right when my semester started, thats why i started off strong but as time went on, my assignments and private life got too busy and i guess i felt entitled enough as a writer to skip a few certain chaps and make life a little easier for me by making them regular chapters instead of written ones.

and this is gonna be my main point: i'm not a machine. i wrote a minimum of 5 THOUSAND words per written chapter, MINIMUM. we're talking about a 5-9 THOUSANDED worded chapter EACH WEEK. which usually took me about 6-7 hours, even allnighters.

yes, i chose to do that and maybe my time management wasn't the best but i had to create a compromise where i wouldnt have let you guys wait for over two months which would have resulted in me losing my motivation completely, and yet still focusing on EXAMS. because you know, i'm a fulltime uni student with TWO jobs 😮‍💨

if YOU think i did CH dirty go write an alternative ending yourself but it should be a minimum of 15 chapters including 5 written ones, with at LEAST 9k words each yeah? i wanna see you manage it all, pls prove me wrong snd show me you're better than me i'm genuinely begging bc it might inspire me to do "better" next time.

as a writer/artist/creator, and i can tell you probably arent one yourself or havent been one for long, the longer smth takes to come to an end the worse the pressure becomes which results in a blockage i dont wish upon my worst enemy i'm being deadass. i dealt with some of the worst writer's block ive had since i started writing literally 12 years ago and you're telling me i should have just "taken a break" and do "better"

an update: i have two days worth of study left, and then ill be done with my exams forever. i am honestly in shock at the concept that after this, i will never have an exam again (except for the bar exam but THATS DIFFERENT OKAY) ..... anyway this last exam has been so hard on me. i put life on hold this year, i put my happiness on hold until i could finish my thesis, until i could finish studying this one humongous exam that seemed to just never end. today for the first time in a long time i woke up and didnt feel my stomach knotted up with anxiety. sure i still have a lot to do tomorrow and the day after (and the morning after that bc jackpottt the exam is at 2.30 pm i love this lady whos letting me NOT wake up at 6 am im order to revise). sure maybe my anxiety will be back tomorrow but today has been a day with a little bit of hope for the future. where i can look over at the weekend, and finally, finally make plans to go out with friends i havent seen in so many months

in our definition of whats consided alive theres 7 criteria (made of at least 1 cell, responds to external stimuli, reproduces, grows and develops, metabolizes, maintains homeostasis, has heritable traits) and u gotta meet All of them. not one or two, its gotta be all of them. like for example viruses meet some but not all of these (they dont grow, they dont maintain homeostasis, they cant reproduce without using a host living cell, etc) so they’re generally Not considered living altho theres a lot of valid debate abt it

but rocks just. its not the same. there is no debate they simply arent alive!!! they do not meet the criteria at all! to be fair i think that person replied with the worst possible example, bc i think you could argue that almost Anything responds to its environment in some way. if thats the only criteria then u could say everything is living.

and “where do they come from, dipshit” they r naturally occurring and thats not the same thing as reproducing, dipshit!! they r a naturally occurring form of minerals (of elements that just Exist in the environment and entire universe). they dont have cell machinery to replicate themselves NOR do they have sexual reproduction or any other kind of reproduction!! this is anonymous so im gonna brag aight?

this is my daily study routine (except Sundays bc yes)

Wake up at 6 am SHARP

Have a shower, meditate for 5 minutes, drink a lot of water and have some fruit.

7 am SHARP, start studying

7:00 am - 10:30 am study (genuine, proper study, not just loathe around) and with 10 minute breaks after every hour ok? AND NO TOUCHING THE PHONE IN THIS BREAK

10:30 breakfast, 11 am - 1:30 pm online school (which I'll be honest i do not pay attention in, Im on my phone all the time)

2:00 pm - 3:15 pm study (yes)

3:15 pm lunch, have a chill relaxing time till 5:00 pm

5 pm - 6:30 pm online class again

07:00 pm hobby/study/ Netflix anything in general

8:15 pm dinner

11 pm "bedtime" sike i do random stuff at this hour (hobby/study whotevah)

Go to bed at 1 am

Now of you see this, throughout the day i study approximately 5 hours, I do not pay attention in my online classes and I also waste my time, procastinate and loathe around

But still, the five hours I study, EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF IT I STUDY BY HEART because I wish to do so. And it pays off. I got all A's in my recent exams.

Also these are a few study tips :

Read the chapter atleast twice beforehand, the first time just a fair reading, the second time highlighting few points here and there AND THEN put the book infront of you, take a notebook and write your own notes by yourself. Believe me, this may be the tiring way but is the best way to learn.

DONT. MAKE. YOUR. NOTES. FANCY. AND. AESTHETIC. LIKE. ON. PINTEREST. AND. TIK TOK. those are your notes, keep them simple and written in a way you can easily understand, don't make them too stuffed in, colourful and doddly and shit. NO. two pens and a notebook are ENOUGH

Every day, revise all the short notes you have. ALL OF THEM. even if you take 15 mins to read through the , do it. When you keep on reading the same thing everyday over and over again, it'll be registered in your brain (like song lyrics)

While making notes, don't make them all in text format. Make them in form of questions, any type of question you see in the book or anywhere? Jot it down. You never know what sort of question will turn up in the exam.

As for mathematics, do any TWO questions from each chapter every day. ANY TWO QUESTIONS it doesn't matter what kind wheter it be the simplest one or the hardest one. Two. Questions. Everyday. (This way you'll remember how to solve certain kinds of problems and won't have go through the entire book the night before the exam)

Stay up to date on what chapter/topic is being taught at time at school. Like supposedly they started chapter 3 of geography today, study it by yourself. It's fun and you'll understand better.

Don't stop doing what makes you happy, you don't need to suffocate yourself by being surrounded by books 24/7. For me what keeps me going and makes me happy is doing art and listening to music.

Find a purpose. Why are you working for this? What is the reason behind all of your effort? Imagine yourself achieving your dream, picture yourself being the person you want to be. I call myself the crazy rich asian, why? Because I WILL BE THE CRAZY RICH ASIAN ONE DAY that's why

You get one chance at life darling, and there's litterally nothing to stop you NOTHING AT ALL so why don't give it all you get?

The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.

One day all of these 6 AM's, hardwork, pain and sweat will make you legend.

It takes 21 days to develop a habit, but 62 days to break one, and only 19 days to substitute and old habit to a new one. Think about it.

seria if you wanna do another one for her paris if you dont

You know, I have no memory of doing any of these for Seria specifically, nor could I find one in my archives :/. I have mentioned her in past ones, but she wasn’t the focus. I’ve definitely written her story deeper than what surface we were given, but not in this format. What the hey, let’s do both.

Seria:

Headcanon A:  realistic

The disdain Seria held towards rookie Summoners pre-GQ and then some was also fueled by the fact that Bloody Rose canonically takes in rookies displaying "problematic behaviors", among others. While she didn't take as much issue with that pre-Algmos, becoming Captain post-Algmos is when she really starts to have her issues, now in charge of troublesome folks who she's obviously stronger than. It got to a point where a vast majority of Bloody Rose's subsequent recruits were "problematic rookies", her general attitude towards new Summoners driving off many who otherwise would've enlisted, especially given the recruits' age range being impressionable teenager to young adult. Thus exacerbating her view of "all rookies are good-for-nothing weaklings."

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

I’ve mentioned this once before, but I like entertaining the idea of Seria secretly (at first) getting into Pokémon GO while doing her daily workouts, just as an added bonus. Like, she hears about it through the grapevines and suddenly, bam. She’s on the app. She’s on Team Valor b/c this is Seria we’re talking about. She guards one of the Gyms set up inside the Summoners’ Hall, and the one at the Arena. She’ll vehemently deny it at first, but the more she teaches students the more willingly open she becomes about it. Younger Summoners on other teams take this as a kind of incentive to do enough to dethrone her, even though she’ll be right back on. Roy, who joined Team Instinct, has already done this several times. I would include Wallace, but he’s on Team Valor and is like the last person you face before Seria.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

Seria’s family didn’t know about the Algmos Incident until she finally decided to come clean about it, which was quite a bit of time post-GQ. No, she didn’t drop contact with them completely after the incident, but it did noticeably decrease in volume. A mix of “not talking about anything specific” and “barely talking about anything in general”, not wanting anyone to see her as anything to pity for; less than “strong with a successful career”. They were so proud when they got the news of her passing the Demon Slayer aptitude exam, and later her promotion to Lieutenant. And yet, here she was, choosing to pick up what little was left of a squad she, in her mind, had a hand in destroying. After all, she was close with that rookie and had no qualms about him being on that fateful mission.

Her family was none the wiser, thinking that work was just suddenly keeping her busy. Oh, how emotional things got when she finally told them the truth....(In a “Why didn’t you tell us sooner?” kind of way, please.)

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

Seria isn't gonna willingly admit that Liam's the one who got her into Pokémon GO, and neither will he. She just noticed her favorite nephew playing it while they were out somewhere and got curiouser and curiouser. As Liam is on a different team than the one she picked, she's also secretly proud of when he takes out one of her Pokémon in a Gym.

Paris:

Headcanon A:  realistic

The Lowendells, even ones that don't take up the path of the warrior, are known for their strong affinity for Thunder magic, though there are outliers here and there due to marrying those of other houses. Paris is also versed in Light and a bit of Fire from her non-Lowendell relatives.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

While she had short hair, her bedhead would stick up in the most Shonen Anime Protagonist/Character ways. Think of just about any spiky-haired anime character. There has been a point where Paris’ bedhead has resembled them and she’s had to tame it down every morning.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

I’m going to start swerving a little into my own verse for this:

That bit in Celgrad about how her parents disapproved of her joining Akras? Yeah, there’s more to that story. Paris was nowhere near ready mentally to become the next Imperial Guard commander in the absences of Eriole and Tesla. Hell, Eriole made and kept her third-in-command for everything but her true capabilities as a leader, and especially for her apparent naivete that he and Tesla were all too quick to point out back in Atharva once they disowned her.

Here’s the thing, though: Both sides of her family have strong ties to the Imperial Guard: father, older brother, and maternal aunt being very prominent members after Paris herself, who was appointed third-in-command to the previous commander so young. So, for Paris to suddenly up and try to “abandon tradition” instead of salvage the pieces was...inconceivable. Well, it was to some vocal members, such as her mother. Others just didn’t want to voice their opinions for one reason or another.

Then came her maternal grandmother, still a matriarch. And she supported Paris’ decision. This lead to other relatives coming forward and allowing her to distance herself and give herself some space. This gave Paris at least some ease in her decision to join Akras. Of course, she also has it in her mind that many back home are anticipating this being only a temporary stay....(Well, it turned out to be.)

ALRIGHT YALL NEW TROPE ALERT ➡ STAR TEAR DISEASE

Basically the cousin of Hanahaki Disease. Unrequited love causes a person to cry star tears accompanied by the sound of twinkling and if the feelings are not returned said person goes colour blind

And I just !!!!

tdmm AU where Momo gets star tear disease and the first time she cries in front of Todo after the exam with Aizawa she cries star tears???

And she doesn’t know what it means and neither does Todo but maybe Aizawa does and recognizes what it means but idk

So Momo goes on this whole literary quest to research what it means. And Todo volunteers to help bc umm?? Even the pressure point in her foot doesnt stop this phenomenon so he wants to figure it out too

And along the way they dig through the UA library on study dates and dig through the bookstores and dig through the interwebs together

Spending more and more time together, Momo starts to realize she’s feeling something. that is until one night she finds it on the web what star tears mean

Its her unrequited love for Todoroki

And her realizing this just makes it w or s e

Bc the consequence of not having her feelings returned means she goes colour blind

Or you know what, im just gonna alter it and make it more angst. She goes fully blind, ya lets do that.

SO MOMO

Poor bby is grappling with this realization and coming to terms with it all on her own; recognizing that if she doesnt let Todo know after all this time spent together she’s come to love him....... she'll go blind

But ofc its Momo... poor bby selfless Momo....

Her feelings and her own and not a responsibility of Todo to like her back and cure her of this disease so there is NO WAY she’s gonna burden him with that

Plus they’re both too busy tryna be heroes and shouldn’t have this as a distraction

So ofc Momo's not gonna tell Todo

And she cries and cries even more star tears that twinkle in fill her room in the dark like galaxies in the sky.

Its really beautiful.

She'll accept that she'll go blind never to see the face of her loved ones again. Her parents. Her friends....... Todoroki.

And that potentially she might have to give up her dream of being a hero if the blindness compromises it.

But she'll accept that.

The next day she wakes up and cant see a colour

And slowly it begins.......

She loses green first. Its hard to distinguish green from yellow

Then yellow goes

Then orange

Then one by one colour fades over weeks and weeks

Ofc shes not telling anyone.

She fakes it in class, during hero training, during her internship

That when Ochako and Hagakure asks "isnt the colour dress cute?" holding up a lovely chartreus and gold dress, she lies and says yes even though she sees gray

Which breaks her even more

And so she cries alone at night some more star tears

And it keeps going

All the while Todo noticing from beside his desk......

something is off...

But he doesnt ask her. Not yet.

Because after weeks of spending time with her researching, he believes they’re close enough that she'll share with him what’s going on

He didnt question it when she told him "its ok Todoroki san, we can stop researching"

"Did you figure it out?"

"Yes. Its nothing to be concerned about anymore"

He doesnt question it when he notices her in the morning at breakfast,,, the little speckles of star dust glimmering at the corner of her eyes

And he doesnt question himself either when he starts to think the twinkling tears she cries when she thinks she is alone,, makes her look really beautiful

Its those some odd moments when he passes the classrooms on the way back to the dorms at sunset that he sees her alone by the window,, looking out,, as the sun paints the sky reds pinks yellows and oranges,,, that she stares out and star tears fall from her eyes, twinkling in the setting light

And he thinks to himself that she is really beautiful,, a shadow against the setting sun

So he watches and thinks some more

That shes beautiful even without the sunset. Beautiful in class answering the hardest question. Beautiful in battle when her tactics win over her opponent. Beautiful studying when he notices her little motions when shes concentrating.

But while Todo thinks that to himself, Momo cries. Little star tears in her eyes.

She cant see the sunset anymore.

He doesnt think its serious when she tells him to disregard the matter

But when he happens to run into her when visiting his mom at the hospital, and she’s on her way out from the optometry & ophthamology department to get this whole eye thing checked out, thats when he realizes

Oh. This is serious.

And he starts trying to get her to talk but she’s being all avoidy and tight lipped

Cuz from Momo’s doctors’ appointment, the doc told her there’s no cure unless she gets over the feelings herself or her feelings are returned

And really now, she still thinks its her burden to bare not his

So logically the only thing she thinks she can do to slow down the blindness from the tears is to shut down her feelings for him. Put them in a box. And become cold.

Todoroki hates that.

That she’s being avoidant and cold when he knows something is wrong and wants to help her but she is being so not Momo anymore

He wants the kind, loving, selfless, pure hearted, strong Momo he's grown to learn and respect and know back

And that’s when he realizes he really cares for her

Not just admiring her beauty. Or respecting her battle instincts and leadership

That he realizes he really likes her

Perhaps even loves her.

So thats that.

Until its mission time.

Cuz its not angst until someone gets hurt and the other realizes they’ve been keeping a secret all this time sooooooooo

Smth smth UA kids vs a new baddie or minor villian or idk it could be dabi for all i want bc i put dabi in everything lmaooo

But who they’re fighting is not important

The important part is tdmm are on the same team

Maybe deployed as partners even

And theyre fighting back to back against some grunts

And at this point Todo is frustrated he’s not getting through to Momo just after he shook his own world realizing he likes her

And Momo's being all cold but civil and she is completely colour blind.

Theres no undoing the damage in her eyes. She can see in muted muddy tones and grayscale.

So for plot convenience lets say the villain has some kinda colour distortion quirk that mixes up the perception of colour from the true colour in a form of illusion or smth idk

So when the grunts in all black uniform end up attacking them, to Todo and Momo, one looks dressed in red, another in green, others in blues yellows purples

tdmm do pretty well fending them off until Todo notices 3 of them in blue green and purple about to attack Momo at once

And she’s ready to fend them off but doesnt notice a 4th one in red coming in for a swift sneak atttack right behind the green one

But Todo does notice

And he shouts

"YAOYOROZU THE RED ONE"

But she cant tell

And the knife lands deep in her shoulder

And Todo burns the rest to a crisp

You can imagine what the conversation is in the aftermath, when Momo has her shoulder bandaged up and Todo tending his own wounds

"Yaoyorozu.. please be honest with me. Why didnt you avoid the red one when I shouted?"

Because, he knows, that the heroine Creati he's trained along side with for so long would have been able to anticipate the grunts assault

That she would have expected a sneak attack amidst a simultaneous attack

But the fact that she didnt. Couldnt. Avoid it definitely means shes been handicapped

And Momo, upon being asked, hurt and tired from their battle finally relents

She cant lie to him any longer.

"It was because... i couldnt tell. I couldnt distinguish their colours. I havent been able to for a few weeks now.... I've..."

A star tear falls from her eyes.

"I've lost my colour vision Todoroki-san"

Tiny galaxies fall from her eyes as she finally explains to him what these tears are

And Todo is speechless as she talks, only able to hear the twinkles against her words broken against sniffles and hiccups

And when sh’es said all she knows - that this is a disease that will turn her blind, that there is no cure and it comes as a consequence of loving someone who doesnt love you back, that she doesnt want to burden the person she loves with her responsibility, that she has been trying bury her feelings to save herself ...

He finally asks: "Who is it.  Tell me who it is that you love Yaoyorozu"

.

"You. Its you Todoroki-san"

And his heart broke.

He pulls her into a hug,, so tight she thinks she might be crushed

And its his turn to cry against her

Because all this time she was doing this for him

"Im sorry Momo. Im so sorry. You dont have to suffer alone anymore. Because we're partners, long before I even realized it"

"Eh?"

He looks into her eyes, unwavering

"Im in love you too."

The tears that fall from her next are no long starlight.

Epilogue/trivia:

Momo loses her colour vision following the colour wheel starting with green ➡ yellow, orange, red, etc until blue is last to go

Shes most heartbroken about losing red and blue cuz those are the colours she associates with Todo (when she cant see the sunset anymore its when she realizes she lost red and that’s why she’s crying)

Since the damage of the disease cant be restored, she has to deal with greyscale vision for some years

Eventually Eri rewinds it for her once Eri can control her power

but for those some years Momo is so busy!! cuz she goes into genius mode and starts creating (and probably working with Hatsume) vision impairment accessibility tools? Yes

and bc I have an unhealthy obsession with the todofam, Natsuo probably ends up getting a case of the disease for some odd reason if he ever broke up with his gf and Todo upon hearing it is like NO GO TELL HER PLS

He’s not gonna let anyone else on the other end feel the guilt that he did for Momo

fics are split into finished, in progress, and abandoned (and the fics with ⭐ are my top faves) plus every category’s fics will be in order from shortest to longest. im gonna include the original summaries along with my own separate take (really more of a reaction) and any warnings the fics need!

this fic hasnt updated in a while but it's so good :((( team 7 is in shambles and sakura just wants a teacher and to get better (i love iruka...) OH! and i love how close the konoha 12 are:) i love the little worldbuildy bits that give depth to the village. theres lots of ocs and a mini uzushio (that sakuras a part of!!) it's super interesting but hasnt updated since 2017 and i checked and this fic was the most recently updated fic op has :((((( it's still a good length and a great read but leaves at a cliffhanger which isnt as bad if you stop at the last break. warning for violence

, Hey all! I have collaborated with @allergictostudying to bring you this post :) I hope this is helpful. If it is, please do like and share :) I have divided this post into essay based, non-essay based subjects and general advice. I will try to make this as short as possible :3

ESSAY BASED SUBJECTS

This applies to English, Philosophy, History, Sociology etc

1. Don’t spend too much time on content.

My essay-based subject was economics and I spent more time on exam technique than on content which really helped me secure a good mark! You can know all the content inside out but if you cannot apply it and present your knowledge in a format that the examiners want, you won’t get as many marks. My tip would be to try to learn and understand all the content/clear up any problems you have, then focus on exam practice a month or so before your exams.

2. Make detailed essay plans for as many question possibilities and try remember them.

Essay plans are the quickened versions of writing a full essay. Exam practice usually involves writing tons of essays but this takes a lot of time and can be necessary. Essay plans are great since they save you time but also serve the purpose of writing a full on essay. Simply write a sentence of the point you want to make. You can use bullet points to note down the explanations and evaluations. These are useful to review just before your exam to be prepared for whatever question that could come up since you would have covered the points in your essay plan! If you find an essay difficult, you can write out the full essay and then get your teacher to mark it and get feedback.

3. Get as many essays marked as your teacher will allow.

Connecting to the previous point, give your essays to your teacher to mark. They would give you feedback that you can use to continuously improve until you have reached the point where you know exactly what you need to do. You will not be bothering/disturbing the teachers because that is their job and they want to help you to the best they can.

4. Learn a few random facts to boost your essays

Outside reading (reading outside your curriculum) is a way to boost your essays to get the top marks. For example, for economics, we had to learn some case studies which had facts and figures on developing countries which would be useful in our essays. This is more important for A2 than AS but it is always beneficial to use. The examiner would be impressed with your knowledge and may award you more marks.

5. Make sure you know the structure you should write your essays to.

Different subjects may have different structures, so know what structure you need to use. Structure is a part of exam technique which examiners would be looking for in your writing.

6. Mix up your revision techniques

You can use the Feynman technique (where you read a page of content, write as much as you can remember,compare it, see whats missing and make cheat sheets). Use an essay question, get A4 sheets of paper and put relevant information regarding the different points you have to mention in the question. Obviously, do what works for you but this is a good technique. Find out what kind of learner you are and use the appropriate techniques.

7. Dissect the question.

This relates to above point but basically you write down all the topics you need to mention underneath your question, whether or not you should put both sides according to what prompt is used (e.g. discuss, outline). When you dissect the question, it becomes less daunting and makes it much easier to answer!

8. Practice essays like mad

As I explained before, practice makes perfect!

9. Watch YouTube videos and documentaries

Watch on whatever topics you find difficult and make a cheat sheet of relevant information (THIS ONE IS SO USEFUL, ITS A LIFE SAVER!). Especially if your teachers aren’t that great at teaching or if you don’t feel like asking them. However, remember not to get distracted!

10. Make progress sheets

This is where you write what grade you got on a marked essay and what you need to add/remove to improve your essays and keep that at the forefront of your mind. This would help you know what areas to focus on and review your learning.

NON-ESSAY SUBJECTS

These tips apply to maths, economics, science subjects etc.

1. Past papers

Do a past paper and go over everything you did wrong. Write down a list of these topics and you can use Feynman’s technique to learn the content (As explained previously). Continuously refer to your syllabus so you know you are covering everything that you need, also refer to the mark scheme to understand what the examiner wants (what they are looking for).

2. Grade tracker

I did this for all my subjects on a excel spreadsheet, it was very effective. You can make a digital or physical tracker, whatever works for you. Track every past paper you do and write the topics that you didn’t do well on, this list should eventually decrease.

3. Go through syllabus and write summary of each section of the syllabus

You can get an A3/A4 paper and write a summary which would make it easier to review closer to the exam as well as helping you remember the content.

4. Videos again, watch relevant tutorials

I’ve explained this before, there are so many videos that teach/explain your subject well :) It will give you a better understanding if you are unclear.

5. Flashcards and the leitner system

Make a bunch of flashcards/cue cards and put them in a pile and test yourself on how well you know them. If you get the card wrong put it at the bottom of the pile, if you get it right move it to a second pile and you should have a pile you got wrong and one you got right. Make sure to go over the ones you got wrong every 2 days and go over the second pile every half week. If you get one from the second pile right move it to a third pile, if you get it wrong it goes BACK TO THE FIRST PILE. No matter what if you get a card wrong it always goes to the first pile where you review every 2 days. The third pile you review every week. Keep utilising this system as you add to your card pile! Flashcards tend to not be as useful for essay subjects as they are for the non essay subjects.

GENERAL TIPS

TIME MANAGEMENT

1. The pomodoro technique

I can’t stress this one enough, after 25/30 minutes of study, attention rapidly decreases, so take a 5 minute break where you do something else eg. chill like drawing or listening to music and then hop back into your work. You'll last a lot longer that way doing work. For example, for every 4 mini breaks, take a half an hour break.

2. Build a general study plan

Its generally not sustainable to plan out your week in 30 minute increments so make a weekly general plan. Plot in your lesson time and your non moving commitments and add in study time around them, stick to this schedule as best you can. Brains like regularity and this ensures that you dont have to keep making a weekly schedule, if you have appointments and such then give yourself leeway but in general stick to your schedule.

3. Get a planner

These are lifesavers. Write down what you need to do for homework and all your commitments in and reconcile these when you get home. You will be more organised and will be less stressed.

4. Just got home? Don’t sit down yet

Go to your planner and write any appointments etc on a calendar (I like the one on my phone and i set a lot of alerts for my appointments because I’m forgetful). Then write your homework on a piece of paper. When is it due? If its due tomorrow, do it now. Any small pieces of work, do it immediately and have it ready to hand in inside your bag (I put all my completed homework in a plastic folder in my bag so I knew where to find it). Then cross these off in your planner! I know having it on a piece of paper is random but it a) gets you in the mood b) it feels more consolidated in your brain. For any homework due that's a larger project, split it into parts, name the project and split it up on your paper. For example, essay on the cold war? You have to plan the essay, go over the content then write 3 pages...or 4 paragraphs an intro and a conclusion.

You split it up so:

Plan essay

Review relevant content as highlighted in my essay plan

Write introduction and paragraph 1

Write 2 middle paragraphs

Write last paragraph and conclusion

You have 5 steps. Now if you have a week to do your essay and you have 5 steps split it accordingly. Know you're gonna have lots of homework from your biology teacher on Tuesday and Thursday? Leave these days off and set one task for every other day of the week.

Im not doing well at all i keep bursting into tears and i want to take all the pills i have around me i dont want to die but i dont know how to cope i am out of control and just in a death spiral. I just jump back and forth between wanting to die and wanting to live every couple minutes and its driving me insane.

Ive gotten hardly any sleep and i had to wake up at 7am to drive an hour and a half to a psychiatrist for an evaluation which was annoying because i knew hed tell me i have depression, general/social anxiety, and borderline personality disorder and that i need DBT which i already knew. We changed my meds from seroquel to lamictal because its supposed to be less sedating so hopefully it wont make me incapable of moving like seroquel did so ill actually stick to taking it. 

Im also out of money. Like i think i have enough to pay my bills this month and thats it. I just dont understand what made my mom think id be able to pay for utilities when i dont even have a job. And then shes talking about me taking out a loan so i can pay for it like. Why? You told me originally that you would be paying for it so i dont get where all this came from. So im super stressed about that and whenever i think about how close i am to not being able to pay my bills i just get so depressed and anxious

But really what i need in the end is to be hospitalized. I need to do an inpatient stay like i dont think its an option anymore. I cant be in such an awful depressive state that i cant leave my bed all day or just randomly have an anxiety attack that lasts hours or jump back and forth between being suicidal and adjusted every 10 minutes anymore like its killing me. I am crumbling. But theres just so many exams and things with school that im conflicted. Half of me is saying fuck school youre on the brink of death and the other half is saying that yeah i am but if i go to the hospital and end up feeling better im gonna come out to having even more of my exams pushed together to make up for the days i missed and its gonna be even more stressful and its just gonna undo everything the hospital did. I just dont know what to do anymore.

But I am glad i ended up making this blog. Even though im not consistent with posting or even how my posts are formatted i do think that this is the best coping mechanism i have so far. Its not much but at least it gives me a place to let it out without the anxiety of feeling like im burdening someone with my problems. Its kind of calming.
