i have my first ever dnd session next week and i’m. nervous-excited! any tips?
Oh, wonderful! I was about to demur and say I'm not an expert and take everything with a grain of salt, and then remembered I've been playing a game most weeks for most of the past decade and played two 1-20 campaigns and am now DMing another. So I guess maybe I do have some right to give advice?
Engage! Truly, this is the biggest piece of advice I can give you. You and your table are telling a story together, and it's a better story the more engaged people are. Be the kind of character who picks up plot threads the DM leaves dangling and chats with NPCs, be the kind of character who asks their party members about themselves, even if your charisma score isn't high. It doesn't take improv skills unless you're playing at a table that's recording a podcast or something, just a willingness to be curious, and it makes a huge difference.
Communicate. With your DM especially, but with your fellow players too. Let them know you're feeling nervous and might be a little shy but that you want to engage! If someone tries to engage you in roleplay, go for it and don't worry if you feel a little silly doing it. If you aren't having fun with an aspect of your character ("whoops, I should have taken a different rogue subclass") or the game ("heyyy, I didn't realize that killing wolves and elk would bother me so much, is there a plan to fight more magical monsters I'll feel less guilty about in the future?"), chat with your DM before it gets to be a bigger problem. And hopefully your table has chatted about triggers and systems to make sure you're all safe around that, a lot of tables do these days, but don't be shy about your needs.
Try to go with the tone presented! Hopefully your DM has told you what kind of game you're in, but a lot of table frictions can come when one player is playing Smeef Smeekle, jolly halfling weed dealer whose goal is to get into as much trouble as possible, and everyone else is playing A Team Of Heroes. Or, for that matter, when one person is playing Bluhdborne Pahth'ojenn, world's angstiest rogue, and everyone else is a fantasy k(obold)-pop band that fell into a dungeon (though comedy games do love a straight man, so that's mostly not fun for Bluhdborne).
Give kudos! When the DM or another player does something cool or creative, improvs a line that gives you chills, anything like that, let them know it! Either in the moment quickly, or after the session in some way. It can be a bit of an emotionally intense hobby, and it's nice to check in with your fellow players and tell them how awesome they are.
And last, some Common D&D Good Manners Things: in combat, have some idea of what your action is going to be before your turn comes around (some players make flowcharts, which I have never tried but might be your jam). Know your abilities as much as is realistic, and have descriptions of abilities and spells close to hand so your DM can ask you instead of looking them up. Take notes if you're playing longer than a one-shot, even if it's only a few words, both to keep yourself engaged and to give yourself the assist later when you need to remember whether this shopkeeper likes you or hates you.
Okay, that got very wordy! But really, just jump into the story, communicate with your table, and come at it with curiosity and collaboration, and it's hard to go wrong if your table is on the same page as you.

let's look at the changes they made to the Barbarian core class in the 2024 PHB (subclasses will be separate). lots of words behind the cut.
OKAY for one thing they've made class descriptions a lot shorter, which I think is good. gives you just enough flavor to get started but doesn't imply how they must be within a world setting.
"Rage" is now being flavored as more of a strong internal power than literally you getting mad which is good for those of us who play barbarians who don't get mad, they get even.
LEVEL 1
Still got that Rage, though now you get get one of your Rages back on a Short Rest and the rest back on a Long Rest per usual
Rage damage now applies to Unarmed Strikes as well as melee
Rage duration has changed; it used to last for 1 minute and ended early if you were knocked Unconscious, or if you go a whole round without either taking damage or attacking a hostile creature. Now Rage lasts up to 10 minutes so long as you either 1) attack an enemy on your turn, 2) force an enemy to make a saving throw on your turn, or 3) use your Bonus Action to extend your Rage. It ends early if you are Incapacitated, which is different from Unconscious and frankly more likely to happen. Forcing an enemy to make a saving throw is probably so that things like Grappling, Shoving, and some of your later abilities clearly still count towards keeping your Rage active.
Unarmored Defense has not changed.
You get Weapon Mastery on two weapons which means a level 1 Barbarian is now exponentially more terrifying
LEVEL 2
Danger Sense now just applies to all Dex saves, not just Dex saves for effects you can see. You can still do this even if you are Blinded or Deafened, but not if you're Incapacitated.
Reckless Attack has not changed.
LEVEL 3
You can still pick your subclass at this level.
Someone already made a great post about this they added this wacky thing where now at 3rd Level now called Primal Knowledge where while they are raging, Barbarians can use their Strength score instead of the normal attribute for Acrobatics, Intimidation, Perception, Stealth, or Survival. That's right, your muscles are so powerful that they let you see better, sneak better, and not get lost better. It's weird. Previously it was an alternative feature from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything (TCoE) but it just gave you proficiency in one skill.
LEVEL 4
You can still raise your ability scores or take a feat here.
LEVEL 5
Extra Attack has not changed.
Fast Movement has not changed.
LEVEL 7
Feral Instinct is mostly the same except they took out that stuff about if you're Surprised on the first round of combat because Surprise works differently now.
They brought in Feral Pounce from TCoE so now all 7th level barbarians can move up to half their speed for free when they Rage.
LEVEL 9
Brutal Critical has changed to Brutal Strike; it used to be that when you crit on an attack you got an extra damage die. NOW, whenever you Reckless Attack, you can choose to forgo your Advantage and if you hit, you deal an extra 1d10 damage AND you can either push them 15ft back and follow them for free OR reduce their speed by 15ft until the start of your next turn. Wow. Insane. Wow.
LEVEL 11
Relentless Rage has changed, instead of popping back up with 1 HP you pop up with a number of HP equal to twice your Barbarian level. So now you actually have a chance of surviving a second attack and not immediately going back down.
LEVEL 13
There used to be a dry spell between 11th and 15th level, but now here at 13th you get Improved Brutal Strike, which gives you two new ways to fuck people over when you use your Brutal Strike.
LEVEL 15
Persistent Rage now lets you, once per long rest, regain all uses of your Rage when you roll initiative. Your Rage also now lasts for 10 minutes for free, and it only ends early if you drop Unconscious, not if you become Incapacitated.
LEVEL 17
There used to be nothing fun at Level 17 but now your Brutal Strike damage turns into 2d10 and you can use TWO of your crazy Brutal Strike abilities at once.
LEVEL 18
Indomitable Might has not changed.
LEVEL 19
The new thing is that at 19th everyone gets an Epic Boon. You can take whatever Epic Boon you want but they suggest one that gives you an extra like 20 damage every time you hit and all your bashing, slashing, and piecing damage ignores Resistance.
LEVEL 20
Primal Champion has only changed a little in that the Ability Score cap is now 25 instead of 24.

Wow gang, the Barbarian class is still very much a tank and their damage output has only gotten crazier, but I think the biggest change is in how much power Barbarians now have to push enemies around on the battlefield, either away from their friends, into corners, over cliffs, etc.

In this post on the Insider Gaming article and this post on the Reddit screenshot etc leaks (spoiler warning for DA:D at links), I mentioned comments made by possible playtesters/similar folks on Reset Era from October 2022. since I referenced them and many people don't use that site, I thought I'd belatedly collect them here for reference. under a cut in case of DA:D spoilers -
first, the usual set of disclaimers that should be kept in mind with all leaks: might not be real, unable to verify at present, sometimes leakers think they’re right about things but are unintentionally incorrect or got some wires crossed, games change a fair bit between development phases and final release, take with grain of salt etc.
User: "Important to remember that this doesn’t mean the game is anywhere close to release. Still plenty to do and plenty that will be changed between now and release." Possible playtester or person who has otherwise seen or heard about the game (hereafter notating these users as "PP" for brevity): "At the very least I like the gameplay direction they are taking is better than the previous games, and they have a clear direction of where they want this game to go. Although I have always preferred actions rpgs, and am looking forward to the inspiration they took for combat." - PP2: "Folks should be excited but also expect a smaller scale game, plenty of people on the team have 'complained' that it doesn't feel AAA in scope." PP1: "They did." - User: "I haven't been paying attention. Are they bringing back tactics, or are they leaning more towards the awesome button?" PP2: "They're leaning toward God of War/ Mass Effect over the shoulder combat." - User: "is it open world or splitted in several areas?" PP1: "Only saw certain linear zones, but whether it is all DAO/2 style zones or mixed open and linear zones like DAI is up in the air. I would prefer the latter with less grinding required to progress like everyone else of course." - User: "That's a bit disapointing, but as long as they have a coherent direction, it's still better than the last 2 game's attempt at spliting the baby in twain" PP1: "GOW 2018 style melee, so not mash button for success but timing, combos, mixing up skills, and playing on your build/skill strengths." - User: "ok but I need Knight Enchanter mage or gish equivalent" PP1: "I think with each class you choose at the beginning you can end up with three subclasses." - User: "Was what you played still party-based?" PP1: "Party commands were disabled, so how much control you have is also an unknown." -
User: "Does one [class] include a magical archer, something beyond the Tempest specialization in scope?" PP1: "Well my base class was a warrior type so there was no access to ranger or mage types, but the warrior does have a magic subclass." - User: "Oh wild lol. I thought this kind of stuff is usually under lots of NDA or something similar" PP1: "It is, helps that no one has leaked screenshots or footage." - User: "I figure you can’t say exactly when it happened, but given your mention of party commands being disabled, it guess it happened after the report of last year about the game shifting to a full SP experience, correct? It seems the action-based gameplay that was lightly teased by some devs before remained even when the game shifted to SP, given your impressions." PP1: "Yes, any part I have seen of the game was after that. This part is speculation, if they have open zones like DAI they can still pull off a live service similar to the last three AC games and it would have no effect on people strictly coming to the game for the story. I would even go as far as saying this might be positively received if they only have cosmetic BPs and mtx." - User: "I think dlcs of various forms, from story to outfits/weapon will still happen; even before, when the game was mentioned to be a live service one, they used DAO as something that already fit that definition. The game won’t go beyond that scope in terms of ‘live service’ though, given how much they’re starting DreadWolf is a full SP experience. Interestingly, from the blog update and the lead developer afterwards, ME seems to follow the same path." PP1: "Yeah I think dlc in terms of story expansions are a lock. If they ever want to tread the live service waters again, there is a great template for them to follow." - User: "the neon colored logo has me thinking this might go a very different direction than typical fantasy" PP1: "Not really." - PP1: "The second one [DAII] was quite literally hold a button to attack since the game was easy. The new one is not at all like that." - User: "Or if Dreadwolf even has a party-based system?" PP1: "Yes"

I’m trying to write a Hybrid Au of my own! I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind giving me some pointers or your definition of hybrids yourselves as a starting point?
Most hybrid AU’s I run across simply slap cat ears or a tail onto their characters and call it a day without explanation or detail to manifestations such as having the hindquarters of their species (like saytrs but not limited to goats/deer and related species). Nor do they go over the laws, care and the societal debates over how hybrids should be treated and what constitutes them as a subclass species/race.
I apologize for even asking this, I’m new to writing and really struggle not to run on with my sentences or get so wrapped up in every tiny detail I end up with a novel just for a description of a species.
hey, sure! id be happy to offer some help!
so, i will say, just from the very beginning: don't get too hung up on finer, unimportant details if you're going to be writing some sort of story. it doesn't really need to be explained in excruciating detail exactly how a hybrid works. otherwise, things can just get bogged down & it can take away from the story itself.
so, for my hybrid au specifically, my hybrids start off as grown military personnel that undergo extensive genetic alteration, wherein a host animal's DNA is spliced in with their own so that they start expressing certain animal traits (physical capabilities, senses, physical features, etc.). i personally don't have my hybrids growing wings, tails, extra sets of ears, or anything like that, nor do any of them get digitigrade legs. but that's just my personal preference. it seems more realistic to me that my hybrids would retain the basic human shape, as any drastic changes to the anatomy would probably be ungodly painful, & would probably result in a dead soldier.
but! that's just how it works in my mind. & i rationalize it like that because, as i said, my hybrids start off as adult humans.
now, if you were to have hybrids that were born, either because maybe that's just A Thing in your world, or because something made them that way, then, in my opinion, you could get a bit more flexible with expressed animal features. tails & digitigrade legs & whatnot.
or you can really just disregard everything & do whatever you want lol. it's fiction, after all. like i said: you shouldn't let the minute details bog your story down too much. often times just acknowledging that something is the way that it is is enough to help the audience suspend their disbelief. handwave the more technical stuff.
i think the how might be less important, narrative-wise, than the why. why do hybrids exist (if they were created at all; what purpose do they serve)? what do they do that distinguishes their service from humans?
& then, yeah, thinking about worldbuilding stuff like legalities & societal reception & all that. really, it's kinda up to you how you want to handle it. my hybrids are controversial. their existence & the procedures that created them are very frowned upon. the process itself is illegal in most of the world. people (both military & civilians) tend to be wary or downright afraid of hybrids, & it's not unusual for them to be treated as lesser. they technically have the same rights as everyone else, but things get kinda dubious with them. they're usually considered more military property than people. hybridization hasn't been around for all that long, either, so advocacy for their rights is still a work in progress.
but, again, you can really kinda just do what you want lol. what fits your narrative? what kind of story are you trying to tell?

OC Bio 2: Khai [BG3 edition]
NOTE: Khai was originally created for my own world i made, this is his Dark Urge version i made for BG3, which i have no picture for. Still working on that playthrough
Name: Khai
Meaning of name: I have no damn idea what it means smh
Sex: Masculine
Gender: Male (get used to that combo, i mostly make male OCs despite being a girl XD)
Age: uhhhhhh, og Khai is eighteen, no idea how old Durge is thought, let's say eighteen though to make this easy
Species: ahem.... half-drow :3
Class: Warlock (may multiclass with rogue or sorcerer later, or stay warlock, as i said, still working on the run)
Warlock Subclass: Great Old One
Magic: blood sorcery (mod I added called "Blood Sorcerer" if i recall the name right), curses of the mind like Phantasmal Force (does that count?), Crown of Madness, Tasha's Hideous Laghter, etc. Of course, he also uses Eldritch Blast and has our favorite summoning, Shovel.
Fighting Style: No mercy. Boy is unhinged. He uses poisons (which i don't think feel good by reading their descriptions 0-0), blood sorcery, and mind scrambling magic. He dual-wields two shortswords and his ranged weapon is a crossbow. His most used spells are;
Bloodbath
Blood Spikes
Eldritch Blast
and Blood Needle
I also have even more concerns for his mental stability... since some spells from the blood sorcery do take some of his own health as well, but let's not think too hard about that ^^
Faction:... N/A
Appearance: He has dusty hair that nearly appears white, and has red eyes (one gets replaced by Volo cause I the player wanted that see invisibility). He has fair skin. A facial scar that forms a "Y" like shape on his right cheek. And has the Dread Fog tattoo on around his left eye. (left and right as in his left and right)
Personality: Khai is certainly.... not completely sane. He is obsessed with poisons and venoms, particularly the painful ones, and does enjoy killing and shedding blood. He does have moments of "kindness", but it's more like a redirection of his hunger for violence. Khai can be sadistic, but is fiercely protective of his allies, and rather possessive of his lover. Khai also loathes being controlled by others, a right only his patron reserves.
Backstory: Khai does not remember his past, only his name and his Patron, Yig, the old god of vipers and serpents. Khai is a bit fanatical when it comes to his patron, as he is the only other thing he remembers. Aside from getting a Mind Flayer tadpole stuck in his head without his consent.
Now.
The main reason he chooses certain paths which seem "kind" is because he wants a good fight. He enjoys killing when he has to work for it, when he struggles. A bit masochistic you could say. Sooo, saving the Emerald Grove? Yeah, he just wanted to fight the goblins and their leaders. Stopping the hag? He just wanted to fight her man. Protecting Isobel? He knew what side was stronger and wanted to fight it. (aka. me finding an excuse for good choices on a durge run hhh) He did fight and kill the Shadow Druids and Kagha though, because he understood they were the stronger ones between them and the tieflings.

So, first of all, it's going to take quite some time to learn the rules to this game. And that's OK. Nobody can expect you to learn all of it in a few days. Since your friends have persuaded you to join on such short notice, they must be ready for you to not know what to do. They need to help you, because there's quite a lot to jump into.
If there's something in my description here that you don't understand, just ask your friends. If they get annoyed that you don't know the basics, that's on them, not on you.
Most things in this game are determined by a 20-sided dice(also called a d20) that you roll and add the appropriate modifier to. If this number is above the target number, it's a success.
There's 6 ability scores, Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma (these are often called stats). They normally only go from 6 to 20. These are not used very much by themselves, so you need to find your ability score modifiers.

Quick rundown of dnd:
It's a role-playing game, and most of the rules are about fighting. But there's plenty more you can do.
In this game, characters can get powers from many different things. And in your case, paladins get their power from their belief in the oath they take. This is mostly for role play reasons, so you can just think of your abilities as things you can activate on your turn.
Dnd works on a turn system. When you get in a fight, you'll roll for initiative. This determines when each player and enemy goes in the turn.
Quick description of combat:
When it's your turn, you can do a few things:
You have one Action that you can use to attack or use most of your abilities. When you attack, you roll the 20-sided dice, add your strength modifier, and your proficiency bonus. I know these terms doesn't make much sense right now, but you only need to calculate it when starting, and if one of those two changes.
You have one Bonus Action that you can use for faster things, for example, some abilities if they say so.
You have one Object Interaction that you can use to draw a weapon or pull a lever or something like that.
Outside of your turn, you have one Reaction that you can use to attack an enemy walking away from you. You can do this once, until your next turn starts.

The Paladin class has some subclasses, called oaths, that you can choose between when you become level 3. The first repost on here gives a decent overview of the standard options.
Outside of combat:
This part is mostly made up of role-playing, with some skills to check how good your character is at specific things.
Your character can be proficient in some skills. That means you add your proficiency bonus to the sum of the dice roll, plus the ability score that's in the parenthesis. For example, if your GM asks you to roll a perception check, you roll a d20, add your wisdom modifier, and your proficiency bonus(if you are proficient in that skill).
Of course, there's much more to all of this, but I hope this wall of text can help you find your way around just a little better.
I found this link, and it looks like a good place to start. So good luck, and please don't be discouraged by all the rules, role-playing is amazing once you get into it.

quick I’ve only got 12 hours
I’ve been persuaded into joining a dnd group with a few other people I know despite never having played dnd. They needed a paladin so I agreed to that, but apart from that paladin sounds somewhat like padawan I have no clue what it is. Someone tried to describe it to me saying I had to take an oath or something.
So yeah, tumblr do your thing I need some good ideas for this.

Hi! I was wondering if you could explain to me (if you know) the difference between a mage and a cleric as El and Will are referred to as them in the show? :)
I am not an expert, but I have looked it up once.
If I remember right, a cleric derives most of their power by making a pact with a deity of some kind.
A mage I think is someone born talented in magic...?
And wizard is someone who studies magic endlessly to become powerful?
And a warlock... dunno.
BUT LET'S LOOK UP WHAT IT ACTUALLY SAYS
CLERIC : Clerics are intermediaries between the mortal world and the distant planes of the gods. As varied as the gods they serve, clerics strive to embody the handiwork of their deities. No ordinary priest, a cleric is imbued with divine magic.
In a round about way, you could think of Will as a cleric in season 2 as he got possessed by the Mind Flayer, did its bidding, and acted as a link between the real world and the Upside Down. But I'm pretty sure clerics are willing servants of the gods, not forced into it like a blood pact.
MAGE : Doesn't appear to exist, but Sorcerer does. Sorcerers carry a magical birthright conferred upon them by an exotic bloodline, some otherworldly influence, or exposure to unknown cosmic forces. One can’t study sorcery as one learns a language, any more than one can learn to live a legendary life. No one chooses sorcery; the power chooses the sorcerer.
I DO see it listed as a monster though? Here is its description : Mages spend their lives in the study and practice of magic. Good-aligned mages offer counsel to nobles and others in power, while evil mages dwell in isolated sites to perform unspeakable experiments without interference.
Somewhat fits El's description for sure, the sorcerer I mean. I think Mike made it up. Either way, the defining trait of a sorcerer seems to be that magic comes "naturally" to them.
WIZARD : Wizards are supreme magic-users, defined and united as a class by the spells they cast. Drawing on the subtle weave of magic that permeates the cosmos, wizards cast spells of explosive fire, arcing lightning, subtle deception, and brute-force mind control. Their magic conjures monsters from other planes of existence, glimpses the future, or turns slain foes into zombies. Their mightiest spells change one substance into another, call meteors down from the sky, or open portals to other worlds.
This is the class of Will the Wise and Vecna. The defining trait of a wizard I think is the fact that they study a LOT. They're like the old guys who live in a high tower and do nothing but read all day.
WARLOCK : Warlocks are seekers of the knowledge that lies hidden in the fabric of the multiverse. Through pacts made with mysterious beings of supernatural power, warlocks unlock magical effects both subtle and spectacular. Drawing on the ancient knowledge of beings such as fey nobles, demons, devils, hags, and alien entities of the Far Realm, warlocks piece together arcane secrets to bolster their own power. A warlock is defined by a pact with an otherworldly being. Sometimes the relationship between warlock and patron is like that of a cleric and a deity, though the beings that serve as patrons for warlocks are not gods.
This fits Will a whole lot now doesn't it? But I don't believe warlocks existed at the time Stranger Things is taking place.
Looking at the available list of classes back then :
Both El and Will the Wise fall under "Magic User" rather than wizard or mage.
In 1989, 2nd edition would come out which included more classes like wizard and mage. I see now that mage was a subclass of wizard apparently.
In this edition, the mage became an all-purpose wizard who could cast any wizardly spell, including many only available to illusionists in the first edition, like color spray and chromatic orb. The wizard spell list was unified, and illusionists became one of many specialist wizard types who focussed on a specific "school" of magic. The other specialists were abjurers, conjurers, diviners, enchanters, invokers, necromancers and transmuters. As a trade-off for various bonuses with magic from their chosen school, specialists became unable to cast spells from one or more "opposition" schools. Aside from school restrictions, all wizards could cast spells from up to 9th level, assuming they had the required intelligence.

Your Guardian has to rest. What is their living space like: Her dorm is pretty clean, but she doesn't make a lot of messes either way. She has lots of little artifacts and trinkets.
Does your Guardian have any casual wear?(Y'all remember Polyvore? The website URSTYLE works very similar if that helps!): She likes flowy robes, skirts, and turtle necks.
What hobbies and/or skills does your Guardian have: She loves to cook, and loves cooking for others.
What would your Guardian's lore book be called: Probably something like "The Guardian with no Name".
Where was your Guardian reborn?(If you created the location, give us a little description!): She was rezzed in the Cosmodrome (I like to stay pretty lore based), and was there for a couple months before fixing up a ship.
What were they wearing when they were reborn: She was wearing almost threadbare clothes, just a sweater, pants, and shoes. Ghost helped her find better Warlock armor.
What was their reaction to being reborn: She was surprisingly calm, despite not being able to remember anything, like her name.
What was their reaction to their first rez: She didn't like the feeling. It made her feel cold, but the feeling eventually subsided more as she died again and again.
After being reborn, did they meet friendlies first or hostiles: Hostiles, lots of Eliksni where she was rezzed.
Who was the first other Guardian they met?(Same thing! If you made them, give a little description!): The first Guardians she really met met was Sloane and Zavala on Titan, during the Red War.
Did your Guardian get reborn with, or find, any indication of their past life? If so what do they have/found: 2 was rezzed with no memories, which was unheard of for an Exo. She only knew her reboot number, 2, by two lines carved into her collar bone. She then found evidence on Europa of her memory bank being deleted by Clovis Bray for witnessing an inhumane experiment.
How did your Guardian get their name(if they didn't rez with past life momentos): She took on her reboot number when her Ghost found it, he said it fit her. "The Second Young Wolf" was given to her by the Young Wolf themself. They had lost their Ghost and were bleeding out in the Last City during the Red War. Upon seeing 2 come to their aid, they said they had a vision of her, and dubbed her the second. Ghost used footage of this to tell the Vanguard after the Red War.
Going back to your Guardian's lore book, what would be some some quotes or passages from their book: "This Guardian thought she was cursed. Everywhere she went, something bad happened. Arrived at the Last City, Cabal attacked. Went to the Prison of Elders, Cayde was killed. Went to the Dreaming City, a curse consumed it."
Does your Guardian have a significant other: It may sound weird, but she and her Ghost are together! She sees herself more as a machine than a human mind now, like Ghosts do. While she's still a "human" in an Exo body, she's never known anything else in her life.
Did your Guardian go explore first before going to The Last City? If so, where to: She and her Ghost were stranded in the Cosmodrome for about 2 months before they found enough parts to fix a ship. They explored the ruins, and kept to themselves.
What was their reaction to first seeing The Last City: She was devastated at seeing the Cabal overtake this place she had heard was beautiful. She just saw fire and large Cabal ships.
Is your Guardian a part of a clan: Not really, no. She likes to join others in fireteams but never stays long. However she usually runs with Miriam and Leo.
If your Guardian would have a quote as a flavor text for a weapon and/or piece of armor, what would they be: "The Darkness, combined with the Light, is a force to be reckoned with." -2, Exo Warlock.
If your Guardian has had any interactions with any civilians (The Last City/The Farm), Eliksni, Cabal, Vex, Hive, Taken, Scorn, Rouge Lightbearers, or Iron Lords/War Lords(if your Guardian is an Old Light) tell us about it!: She likes to show the children in the city tricks with her Light, and teaches them new dances.
Does your Guardian have any unconventional allies or connections(By Vanguard standards): She's pretty close to Drifter, and even pledged her allegiance to him instead of the Vanguard. He's a useful ally. She also knows some Eliksni thanks to Miriam-46 and her work with The Spider.
How does your Guardian feel about themselves or others using Stasis: She feels like it's right, that it's ok to use if you dont abuse it. The fact that she wields both the Dark and the Light, sometimes at the same time, shows that it can happen and that others can do it.
Is your Guardian from D1? How did they react to seeing Taniks alive once again: She is not.
Where did they go and what did they do during The Red War: She tried to find the Vanguard, and tried to help as many people as she could after she got her Light back from the Shard.

Osiris, First Warlock Vanguard, originally exiled: Gay Grandpa. She respects him quite a lot, and talks to him about anything when she goes to see him, especially after Sagira sacrificed herself.
Eris Morn, Bane of the Swarm: She holds high respect for her. She feels horrible about what happened to her, but she's glad Eris has been able to talk to others. If anything, she fears her a little too.
Cayde-6, Sixth Hunter Vanguard: One of her only Exo friends who knew a little bit about the exo's past. She used to tell him everything, her patrols, her stories, Ghost would even show him recordings of them. She misses him.
Ikora Rey, Second Warlock Vanguard: 2 calls her the "Collective Mother", because she's always been open to New Lights. 2 turns to her for anything, and she knows Ikora has her back through anything. At least, she hopes she does.
Commander Zavala, Second Titan Vanguard: She held high respect for him during the Red War. When Cayde died, she lost that respect for him when he disapproved on her acts. That trust and respect has slowly been building again since.
Saint-14, legendary Titan, First Titan Vanguard: Again, Gay Grandpa. She loves to just be around Saint, and feed the birds with him. They don't talk too much, just appreciating the hangar.
Lord Saladin, Iron Banner handler, One of the last remaining Iron Lords: She's never really liked him, even if he's the reason behind her namesake. He's been too bloody for her, and she doesn't like Iron Banner.
Lord Shaxx, Crucible handler, Hero of Twilight Gap, living megaphone: Whenever she needs a pick me up, she goes to Shaxx. She loves his personality and loves the Crucible.
The Crow, New Light, Ex-Enforcer to The Spider: After what happened with Uldren, 2's been living in guilt. She feels like the Traveler gave both her and Uldren/Crow another chance, so she's doing everything in her power to better Crow and herself. She kinda took on a maternal role for him, making sure he has the best gear he can and that no stray Guardian will hurt him.
The Spider, The Shore's Only Law, founder of "House" Spider: Ohoho where do I start. She's always hated Spider for how he treated Ghosts and NEVER took her own out around him. How he was treating Crow was the last straw for her and his partnership. She's still friends, however, with another Guardian Spider has employed, Miriam-46.
Uldren Sov, Prince of the Reef, Master of Crows: She wasn't ever too fond of Uldren when she heard the stories about him. She was so angry when he killed Cayde, that it clouded her judgement. Uldren needed help, and in the end, he was right about Mara being alive.
Mara Sov, Queen of the Reef, Queen of the Awoken, Ex-Kell of Wolves: 2 has never liked her. She finds her snobby and just plain rude. She doesn't like how Mara talks down to others and thinks she's better than others.
Variks, the Loyal, founder of House Judgement: At first, 2 blamed Variks for the Prison of Elders, but after getting to know him and his cause, she warmed up to him.
Mithrax, the Forsaken, Kell of Light, founder of House Light: She's only met him a couple of times, but respects him none the less. She hopes they can get more Eliksni to join the House of Light.
The Exo Stranger/Elizabeth "Elsie" Bray, Granddaughter of Clovis I and Sister to Ana Bray: 2's very thankful that Elsie's taking the time to show people the Darkness, and really appreciates her. While this Elsie isn't our timelines Elsie, she knew about 2's memory bank, and tipped her off to it.
Eramis, of House Salvation, Kell of Darkness: 2 wonders that, if she didn't have the support of Ghost and Elsie, would she have turned out like Eramis? Seeing the Darkness seduce someone like that was unnerving, and she wants to do everything in her power to correct it.
Empress Caiatl of the Cabal Imperial Empire: 2 thinks the Cabal should just surrender. They're running their troops thin in the hopes that the Guardians will cave, and they most likely won't. Sometimes, 2 doesn't want to fight anymore. She respects Caiatl as a warrior, and nothing else.
Taniks the Scarred, the Perfected, the Abomination, the Shadow Thief: HOW ARE YOU STILL ALIVE, she's just, yeah she doesn't like him.
The Darkness is fast approaching. How is your Guardian handling it: She may not show it, but she's kinda scared. She knows that she and Ghost are destined to die one day, and she's dreading the day she gets the sword. She hopes that her decisions will change that fate.
And finally, does your Guardian have any advice for any New Lights: Don't get too close to an enemy when you shoot a rocket at it, and don't let your emotions get the best of you. Go at your own pace, we don't need you New Lights getting hurt or doing something dumb.

Hi! Your adventures with different types of energy and void temples is really interesting. I'm trying to figure out what type of energy I personally have, but I don't know what types are possible! You've talked about fae, void... What are the other types you've encountered or maybe heard of (and, if you feel like it, a basic description of what they feel like? If that's too long you don't have to)
I’m still working on a list of all of these. It’s one of my main goals right now-- and I want more concrete descriptions that can only be gotten through advanced energy signature readings; I really fucking hate flowery terminology like “fae energy is bouncy, mystic, and swirly!!” like what the hell does that mean lmao?? If you want to get into more advanced energy work, you need more specific, non-mystical terminology. Energy signatures do get extremely concrete/consistent once you are able to sense a number of specific features such as color, scent, texture, elements, etc.
I won’t include a description of them here because I’m still working on those...and when I do, it’s going on my Patreon because this is literally a culmination of all my hard work and experience in energy work, spirit work, and astral travel and no way am I letting that shit go for free lol.
