, A little drabble, featuring Mendoriel as the battle lord, though he would in canon very obviously not be THE BATTLELORD, the GREATEST WARRIOR EVER...just...probably very talented. I can imagine him being known and respected by the Valarjar since he is canonically very much associated with the Vrykul, though he is more famous with their kind in Northrend. I dunno if I ever talked about this, but he completed Vrykul trials in Northrend and is basically an expert on them, in the end being so respected that he received armor (or rather was allowed to craft his armor using a legendary Vrykul forge) and mounts from them - a proto dragon egg and a black foal of what I headcanon as Vrykul horses. Basically giant, muscular horses.

As the Aspirant went down and surrendered, the crowd exploded with loud cheering and howling. Mendoriel raised his sword and shield in the air and briefly roared in triumph, as Thyri gave up, releasing all the tension out of his body.
It had been a long, tedious trial. Facing the four challengers had been considerably tougher than Mendoriel had expected, but in the end, he stood victorious above them all. His hair, usually a more than worthy tribute to elven beauty, was sticky with blood and sweat and clung to his body and armor, hugging his massive form tightly. He was in pain, but of course, he hid that fact well from the others, this was not the moment to show any weakness, although he would have deserved to. Fighting the other challengers from all over the Broken Isles had almost brought even him to the knees and now he had to catch his breath again.  “This...this makes me question if I am truly worthy of being an Aspirant of Eyir”, Aspirant Thyri breathed out, exhausted and clearly at the end of her power. She had been badly battered and bruised by fighting the Battlelord, even with the power of Eyir on her side and magic abilities to use. Mendoriel looked down at her for a moment, before extending a hand to help her up, despite her being very much taller than him - and he already was an exceptionally tall night elf. “Do not fret, my friend”, he uttered with a wide smile, “Your presence and the opportunity to fight you honors me. I am glad you decided to do this.” Thyri looked at him in confusion.  “I was beaten. This greatly hurts my honor, elf, do not try to -” “Oh, as if you could stop me? What are you going to do? Punch me with what’s left of your power?” She fell silent for just a moment, embarrassed by being taunted by the winner. “You’re...honored that I fought you?” “Yes. It is always of great importance to me to challenge myself every day, to do greater things, fight greater foes. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to test my skill against you. Even if you have not beaten me today...you will achieve great things, I am sure of that. No need to fear, Eyir should be proud of herself to have you with her. Remember: It is always about growing as a person and you’ve got the potential for something great” The valkyra looked into his eyes intensely, before nodding. “Your words honor me, Battlelord”
Odyn got up from his throne, his massive metal hands clapping slowly.
“Bravo, Battlelord. You bring honor to us, as always, be it with your words or your actions”, he said, a smile being hidden away by his beard of flowing fire, clearly moved from the elf comforting the woman that he just beat. Mendoriel, being from a good house, bowed before the titan.  “Life has many doors, Odyn. Failing when representing the best of one such as you is not an option, however”, the Battlelord exclaimed, voice thundering across the throne hall. Laughter escaped Odyn, echoing across them as well. “Respectful and well-mannered as always, I see. It is good you carry sword and shield, armor, as well as such an attitude. Make sure no one ever pierces any of this and you will stand victorious for many years to come” “Oh, I do sure hope so”
