Hi! I hope you are doing well! I was wondering were you able to finish empire of storms and if so how did it go and what did you think of the ending . I’ve been off awhile so I wanted to know if you finished the book cause I loved reading your updates about it , literally made my day . Enjoy your day

I did finish empire of storms and let me see if I left a review on good reads- no. But I did rate it 1 star.

I didn't enjoy it, I'm gonna be honest. QoS wrapped up the series so neatly that I was genuinely curious how it was going to continue. EoS was not satisfying in that it was bloated with so many perspectives that ultimately added very little to the story. I don't know if you're a From Blood and Ash hater like I am, but EoS does what FBAA also loves to do- 500 pages of practically nothing and then 100 pages of all the plot crammed together.

The tone shift is also weird. The first four books feel YA and then it's very much not, and I love smut so don't you dare try and come for me, but like...oof the smut just did not belong. I'm sorry if people liked it, but TOG didn't need it.

I don't like Dorian and Manon together (i'll die forever on that hill) and I don't like Elide and Lorcan together. The ending was AWFUL and I knew it was coming because I exist online and have seen the art, but the conspiring against Aedion, KNOWING Lorcan was going to call Maeve and...letting it happen (WHY?? In what world is that anything but DUMB? Like blah blah narrative WHY? What if Maeve killed everyone, there was no way Aelin could have forseen the outcome as being favorable) was a C H O I C E. I think you want me to be like, emotionally wrecked but I was so grateful to just be done with it. I nearly DNF'd the whole series after EOS. It can end for me at QOS.

I am working through TOD and I'm bored. It's just fine. Chaol's self-loathing makes it a particularly unfun read and SJM can only do one kind of relationship- tense/enemies to lovers and I'm just bored.

I'm taking a break to finish Legendborn and then I'll try and power through the rest of TOD
