1, 9 and 17 for the bg3 act 1 asks! 👀👀
Thank you for the questions !! Rubs my hands together like an excited fly …
1. Tell us about your Tav! Name, class and subclass, race, pronouns. Do you have a headcanon for where they're from? Their family? Are they a Dark Urge? Or did you choose an Origin Character? Was it an easy decision?
Ohh my sweet , sweet Giilvas . Giilvas “ Lonch Mune “ Quickfoot , a Collage of Lore Bard Wood Elf who grew up in the Great Dale region before he started having to hop towns , but he’ d probably tell anyone who bothers to ask that he grew up in Baldur’s Gate . If any of his family lives , he doesn’ t know where they are . He isn’ t a dark urge ( though , it would be interesting to do a durge run with him … ) He was definitely the first character I wanted to repurpose for bg3 , so it wasn’ t hard when I finally sat down with the game to go right into making him .. also he uses any pronouns yippie !
9. Do you have a favorite member of the Tiefling Refugees? Is it the same as your Character's?
Alfira and Zevlor are my little guys, I think . I love a good bard and she definitely tugged at my heartstrings when she opened up about why she was struggling with writing a song ( I’ ve been though a similar situation , loosing someone and abandoning your instrument … yeah < / 3 ) and Zevlor is like … a dad . I can’ t blame him for asking again and again for help bc he just wants to help his people and he knows it would he mindlessly reckless if he just forces them to leave now , since he knows the sorts of dangers that wait for them will be enough to kill most of them .
For Giilvas ? He likes the kids . Especially Moi . He pretends like he doesn’ t wish to dote on them when they stop in the grove for supplies or to check on the safety of it , but he ends up letting them strum his lute or let them hang off his arms before he leaves . They’ re sneaky and playful and trying to make the most out of everything that has happened , and he’ s been there . He knows how bad it hurts . So he can’ t really help it .
17. What does your Character think of Withers?
When Giilvas and co gathers together at the ruins and ventured in , they kinda expected to get some coin in a less-than-morally correct way . Giilvas could recognize who the crypt was made to honour , the statue and the living dead easy clues + his general knowledge on gods , dead or not . So when they slipped into the hidden room , pushed the coffin lid ajar , Giilvas was in absolute shock when Withers was what met them .
He had assumed that this wasn’ t a resting place for a god , but mearly an over devoted follower or a well loved priest , until the well preserved corpse pulled itself out from the grave and asked how much a life was worth to Giilvas .
He’ s still uncertain if Withers is a god or is just a vessel for an higher power , of if he’ s completely misunderstood what Withers is - it’ s not like he’ ll explain - but he isn’ t frightened seeing him in the camp . Withers watches over them , takes down their names and offers aid . Even if the costs seem a bit much , it’ s not like anyone else can just do what he does all the time . Besides , Scratch and the Cub are fine with him , so there can’ t be too much wrong with him , right ?
