I've said it before and I'll say it again: loumand is much more complicated than people make it to be. They have this bdsm dynamic, they have cute and romantic clichés. They get bored, they have an excitement in their relationship they never had with anyone before. They are codependent, giving and taking control to and from each other. Their relationship started as a rebound, from a crush. It was tainted by misinterpretation, trauma, horrible lies, spite. It became love, protection, a comfortable yet exciting routine. They are comfortable to be themselves around each other, they always hold a part of themselves back. They found in each other something they hadn't or won't find in anyone else. It's not enough. It's more than enough. They are over. They can't ever really be over.

I actually have been thinking about this all day long and it really does bother me! Why is loumand less just because loustat have the stronger more powerful bond? Loumand made both Armand and Louis who they become in the future. They needed one another to make it through and although Louis is very much out of it, Armand cares for and loves him and protects him. There have been so many deep hurts yet they remained together and in the future do come together again and again. It’s honestly a beautiful and meaningful connection.
I don’t ship it but even I don’t believe that loumand were boring and passionless. Together 77 years? They were in love and that may have transformed into a companionship but the love remains at the foundation. The trust. It’s still there even if they are becoming an insane performance right now but it’s done purposefully and even in their fail acting they’re still in it together and sure they’re taking it to wild extremes but maybe that’s exciting for them. Maybe! But I fully believe they have had plenty of passionate moments in their life together and I don’t like the way it’s always being discounted in favor of Loustat or Armandaniel. Their relationship actually does matter and it’s actually important for them and for their character development and the journey they’re on. I joke about this and that but I won’t ever say they don’t love one another. There was in fact a spark that drew them both in and kept them together all this time.
