Her fangs are in some man's neck. She's snuck off from some fancy party her father is throwing to entertain rich mortals for him to use and lure into his web of destruction. It was not hard for Abigail to lure this man away into some dark corner so she can feast on his blood. She should have been more patient. A nice afterparty after the event her father is throwing for the vampires loyal and true to him would soon follow where she could feed to her heart's content. She will probably feed again later. Her appetite never seemed to be satiated. She once thought she would grow out of that. It has been centuries since her turning. She has not. She senses someone behind her and she pulls away from the man's neck. Blood covers her mouth but she has managed to not get anything on the expensive attire she wears. Jagged teeth poke out from her gums as she stares back at the doll. Odd. But, she's lived long enough to meet the likes of Frankenstein's monster, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and of course, the Wolfman. Her head tilts to the side, etheral blue eyes staring at Chucky.

A wish

A wish is something we make when we are children when we picked up pennies that were face up and then we threw said pennies into a fountains. Or we blew out birthday candles and swore to keep our wish a secret. Or wished on stars, repeating a small rhyme we learned from someplace or another to make sure it came true. At least I did.

But as we get older, we lose that belief in the power of wishes. We no longer pick up random pennies, instead leaving them on the ground. There are no more birthday wishes since many of us don’t even think when we blow out the candles. No more wishes to the stars because now we know stars are just pieces of lights that aren’t even there anymore. At least I lost that belief.

I may have lost my belief in wishes but I don’t think society as a whole should forget about being that innocent. I don’t this we should forget about when getting a ladybug to land on your shoulder was a dream come true. I don’t think we should forget about when we would try to go to sleep faster on Christmas Eve because if we weren’t asleep by the time Santa arrived, we wouldn’t get any presents. So please remember that time and please, if you ever find a penny face up, make a wish. Remember that it may just come true.
