can we talk about how the weirdest part of staticmoth isn't even the fact that they're toxic to each other?

it's how they both react to each other's toxicity with nonchalance.

like. first, during val's tantrum, val throws a glass at vox, or well, in his vicinity.

then vox just... steps away like it's nobody's business, barely bothered by it.

and later, when it's vox's turn to be angry, he roughly pulls val down, shakes him, and shouts at his face.

then val just... shrugs it off.

usually when you think of a toxic relationship, you'd probably think of person A being toxic to person B then person B biting back just as toxic until it's a back and forth of toxicity, a full-blown fight.

but that. that's not staticmoth. staticmoth is fucking weird in that when one is acting toxic towards the other, the other acts nonchalant and doesn't retaliate. then they switch roles on who the toxic one is and who the nonchalant one is.

I am not at all denying the toxicity in their relationship, but they certainly are a really fucking weird brand of toxic that is just. so hard to describe.

You mentioned that Lucifer is Alastor's most dangerous opponent. How does Alastor fend off or evade Lucifer's advances?

It's more like Lucifer has THE POTENTIAL to be Alastor's most dangerous opponent. He's the king of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar, third most powerful being in existence, so of course he's the most dangerous; only challenged by potentially Charlie. But due to his personality, he's rather tame compared to some other people. It would only be if Lucifer is done with the "cat and mouse" game he thinks they're playing that he'd start posing a serious problem. And Alastor is cunning enough that he'd more or less know this. Coupled with Lucifer's already worrying mental states concerning his depression and the emotional distance between his loved ones, Alastor has more than likely surmised that there would be a breaking point for Lucifer that would cause him to "stop placating" Alastor's "hard-to-get attitude". So he panders to him to a degree.

While Lucifer doesn't appear 2 seconds from snapping and just making Alastor his by complete force, our radio host would like to delay the possibility for as long as possible. I imagine an instance that had him realize this was a possibility was an instance in which Lucifer was possessive, tired of Alastor "playing hard to get" and giving no affection, and Lucifer was not taking "no" as an answer to something. Not anything depraved, at the least maybe it was getting there but Lucifer snapped out of it realizing he was more than likely similar to Adam in Eden when he was with Lilith. Lucifer's eyes get all watery and he hugs Alastor's stomach, being more or less in the radio demon's lap and leaving Alastor to reflect in an awkward and uncomfortable position. From then on, Alastor is more than likely more careful in his interactions with Lucifer. He still belittles the man and doesn't exactly go along or flirt back, but he will (begrudgingly) force himself to pander to any of Lucifer's requests. Nothing like kissing, but he has spent time in the King of Hell's room. Alastor still brushes off any advances Lucifer makes with an eye roll and whatnot, but when the situation seems a little more desperate and Alastor can't seem to shadow himself away from the king of Hell, he will offer "alternatives" to things (Like if Lucifer was looking to "get down and dirty" as it were and Alastor can't make an escape, he will ask for them to do something else like sit and chat. To which, Lucifer is more than happy for the trade-off).

Lucifer very much wants a willing partner, so he'll be more inclined to do something Alastor suggests than do whatever he wants with him. Alastor more than likely initially tried ignoring or keeping a strong distance from Lucifer. That was probably what backfired and made Lucifer close to snapping before being "grounded" again. Alastor probably has been forced onto some dates (which is the case for a few characters), just because he couldn't leave. To sum it up, Alastor will essentially try to keep his distance as best he can with Lucifer, while also trying to pander to him to avoid Lucifer getting more forceful with his advances. There's not really much he can do to fend him off aside from bringing up Charlie, and vice-versa for her, but it doesn't really do much.

Vox is actually Alastor's most dangerous opponent due to the manipulation tactics he can employ when Alastor is at his lowest, and the power he has as an overlord. Vox acting seemingly unaffected by the curse does make Alastor want to speak with him, but he normally remembers that Vox is batshit crazy and the second he'd step into the V-Tower, he more than likely wouldn't be leaving. This doesn't mean there weren't a good few close calls, but Alastor has made it a rule that he isn't to meet with Vox in the TV demon's territory.
