Yall, I’m so disappointed. It took 4 seasons to him to confess, he dipped the very next minute, and now they’ll probably write him off as having died in New York.

Aside from the obvious, that they dragged the hell out of the “will they, won’t they” aspect of their relationship, William’s character suffered a lot too. His character kept getting screwed over (missed promotions..etc..) and was increasingly becoming secondary to Eliza, despite the title being “Miss Scarlet and the Duke” and in all honesty, I didn’t see his character going anywhere for the past 2 seasons.

I feel like we got that throwback episode to the kiss™️ way too late, it should have happened at the latest, season 3. I mean sitting home with Eliza was what finally got him to confess. I didn’t mind that he had to leave, it gave time Eliza to see how their relationship would work. And season 4 could have been her working with Nash and figuring out how she could be with William and at the same time, we could have seen William doing his thing in a new place. Then we would be seeing, Miss Scarlet and the Duke!

Anyway, so while yes, majorly disappointed that Stuart won’t be coming back, at least he’s going off to do, hopefully, better things.
