ok bestie
How many words have you written this year? 537,776
How many works did you publish this year? 143
What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)? maybe "It wont be the same when my favorite person leaves" but idk... I worked REALLY hard on that fic and it was really cathartic to see an idea that I have been plagued with for months finally come to fruition in a way that I really enjoyed I think. The first version of that fic I wrote was really discouraging because I really hated it but I like the version I posted. Also "Death, suits you dear sir" that one was just really enjoyable to write and I enjoyed the process of it. I think I would've wanted it to be a little scarier but I like the tone I put and I like how I wrote it. I can say I'm proud of that one. Lastly "I can't escape my shadow" is very near and dear to my heart, it's reminiscent of my old writing and It was really fun to write more horror for the first time in however long.
What work of yours has the most hits? "I want a nice soft place to land I want to lie down forever" which makes sense since its one of my owl house fanfics and thats a pretty popular fandom. But it also really surprises me that it's my most popular fic this year bc like... I really hated that fic when I wrote it like, I had the idea in my head and it didn't come out the way I wanted it to at all. The words fought me and I was SO unhappy with it and I still reckon I could do it better. But it's my most popular fic this year I guess.
What work of yours got more feedback than you expected? Ok so there might be a lot of recent fics bc like I wrote a lot this year but honestly? "Words I don't say" I did not expect a lot of feedback and it was a little bit of a shot in the dark being the first fic I wrote for that campaign. I think I'm noticing a pattern of the ones that I am insecure about are usually received the best
Favorite title you used "Icarus and melted wax" you know how much I love Icarus references
If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most? I think I literally just threw out the sheets of paper I used to collect this data when I cleaned my room a bit ago. Crap. I think it was either Alec Benjamin or Tamino
Pairing you wrote the most for this year? Oh thats a good question oh god how do I find this out easily without having to collect the data myself. Probably Albatrio bc I think I have the most riptide fics. Wait I think I figured it out if this is accurate data its a tie between Jay and Gillion or or Chip and Jay
Favorite pairing you wrote for this year? Dakota and William I think (or PolyPD)
What work was the quickest to write? Oh god I think I have several like 2k fics I wrote in like an hour I absolutely am NOT going to remember which ones. Uh probably "You're my brother and I love you that's the truth" I wrote and posted that one in school. I don't know when I wrote it during the day but it took like an hour...
What work took you the longest to write? The unfinished halloween fic anyway probably "A glimpse in time" it's my longest fic this year and I'm pretty sure it took me a REALLY long time tbh.
How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year? heavy sigh. I doubt it's going to be that many because that implies that it's something I intend to finish and not something I gave up writing. Probably only one that I intend on finishing but if I count ideas that I still want to elaborate on: 3
What’s your longest work of the year? A glimpse of time linked above, that fic possessed me so hard I do not even understand how. I wrote like 6k exposition for it.
What’s your shortest work of the year? OH that's actually a really good question I never actually like... thought about. "sandstorms" at 1,430 words. I always forget I wrote legend of zelda fic, one of those i need to revise and fix bc the tense makes me so unreasinably mad
What WIP are you taking into next year with you? weeping sobbing shaking crying I don't wanna talk about it I don't wanna talk about the halloween fic I'm crying and shaking and sobbing. Oh also the two unfinished fluff prompt asks that I do still intend on writing.
What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag? Probably "I wrote this instead of sleeping" only 92 of my 411 fics are NOT tagged with that, Phantom does NOT get sleep actually. In second place is "fluff"
Your favorite character to write this year?A William wisp <33333333333 but Vyn is fun to write too bc I make him a creature.
you didnt put 18 so im not answering that one lol
What’s one pairing you want to explore next year? Kian Rolan and Rand I need to write more with them I NEED to write more bitb fics lest it drives me insane.
Which work of yours have you reread the most? Good question, I honestly usually reread like the most recent stuff I post, I always reread my fics in the morning after I post them to look at them with new eyes and see how I feel about them then. This one is gonna be a list hold on "I'm a wreck when I'm without you" "The birds who sing in the dead of night" "Until you're in my arms again" I have no idea what others, that's getting a bit older in my fic sooo, I don't usually go that far down.
How many kudos in total did you get this year? 16,395
Which work has the most comments? "I want a nice soft place to land I want to lie down forever" Linked above
Did you do any collaborative works this year? uh no? Is that working w ith another person to write a fic, I assume that's what it is and no. Other than the fact that I bounce ideas or plan a good bit of my fics now with you sami
Did you write any gifts this year? No but I may or may not have been supposed to and have not written that yet. This year will be me writing my first gift I feel it.
Did you receive any gifts this year? Two!!! "Struck by lightning" by Nyxthedragon25 and "Lost dog" by Periperson both absolutely lovely fics and everyone should go read them absolutely
What’s your most common category? Hold on what are the categories... oh I don't use those anymore so I can't answer something with that. I very rarely use slash tags I am absolutely not comfortable enough to use those tags.
What do you listen to while writing? Instrumental music or classical music probably.
Favorite work you wrote this year? I have literally no idea tbh but I really like "Here's a health to the company" that one's just a really nice fic, I might add a bonus to it sometimes this year where I add ashe into it which is what I originally wanted to do when I wrote it but I didn't know anything about Ashe enough to be able to write him. But like I had and have an idea of what I could do for him in that 5+1 situation.
Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? "The words should have been a weight lifted off her shoulders. It should have been relieving to get it off her chest, to tell the big secret that she had been holding close to her heart for so long.
That’s what she had been told. That it was a relief to finally tell the truth.
Whoever said that was a liar through and through."
From "I cry hard because I have died, and you're alive" I'm actually surprised I wrote that in 2022... just barely but it I thought for sure it was gonna be 2021 anyway that line has always stuck out to me I think. There are probably better lines and stuff I've written recently but that one just sticks out to me, I think it's really cool.
30. Biggest surprise while writing this year? I think just mostly all the fics I managed to write, all the support I've had and I think the friends that I have made. It's really just... shocking to me that people enjoy my fics, a lot of people comment about seeing me upload in their inbox implying that they have notifications on for me and that's just... really wild to me. I can't really comprehend the support and the love people have for my writing, it feels unreal I think. I don't understand it at all haha, I'm just here writing silly things and people actually like it.
I think also my biggest surprise is my growth and how much Jrwi put me in a chokehold haha I didn't expect to write this much this year and I think I'm really happy with where I am with my writing. This year has been amazing and I'm so proud of myself for everything I've done and I'm so glad to have met a ton of amazing people in this fandom and to actually interact and join the community in whatever way I can.
Side note: I'm actually really proud of myself for actually like trying to put myself out there a little more. I hate making fandom posts because it makes me really nervous, but I think that I've gotten over that fear and I've tried to interact more with some people. I've made some great friends and some great mutuals and I'm really happy with that. It's been an amazing year so thank you all.
#sent me every single number except 18#I knew you were going to do that so I made sure to check#but god this took me like an hour to do thanks sami#some of these questions are really hard to answer#just because I've writetn so much#and I am feeling very neutral towards my own writing rn#so it was hard to choose like favorites and stuff#my brain is ONLY thinking of the bayou fics I've written#i crave to write more#anyway yeah#ask game#liveblogs writing#my writing#syrup tag#asks#rambling#phever dreams with phantom#mutuals

Oh my god, I'm sorry this took so long to get to and thank you to my lovely lovelies @merryfinches, and @scorpiostarseed for the tags <3
Last song I listened to: This gorgeous lil classical playlist. (I can't wait til it's warm enough to lay out and read on a blanket in the field across from my place like this...)
youtube
Favourite Colour: Soft, dusky purples and greens.
Currently Watching: I'm so deep in the Taskmaster hole at this moment (Madeleine Sami in a tux for hours of television...help.). Just finished Taskmaster NZ Season 2, and am all caught up on the original British version as of today. Outside of that, X-Files rewatch and lots of video essays on Youtube. Comfort stuff, mostly.
Sweet/spicy/savoury: Ohh, so mood-dependant. My favorite combination is salty/savory + sweet. Chocolate-covered pretzels are a must, and you'll always find me putting some sea salt over any cookies or brownies that I'm making. Cheese + fruit is another one, I love putting fig spread on a grilled cheese.
Relationship status: Together with someone for a very long time.
Current Obsessions: Pirates, duh. Zaddygate. Taskmaster. Spring starting in earnest soon so I can do more outdoor things. Nail stickers. Ginger peach iced tea. The recent total solar eclipse (can't stop thinking about what it looked like and trying to really etch it in my memory).
Last thing I googled: "wwdits movie streaming", was indoctrinating a friend, it worked.
I think I'm gonna hold off on tagging because I'm sure many of you have already done it since I'm so late to the party, lol. But if you see this and want to play, genuinely consider yourself tagged. <3

Min Skat (Ivar x reader)
A/N: This is for @maggiescarborough‘s and @gearhead66‘s birthdays 🎉 The truth is, I wanted to write two different fics but I had problems... As you may know, girls, I was on vacation. And the laptop I took with me was broken... So... I couldn’t write. I got home only 36 hours ago. That’s why I finally decided to write a single story, to share, for both of you. Hope you won’t mind. And since I know you both love fluff, then... fluff it is!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOVELY WOMEN 💖 🌷 💖
As usual, thanks to my lifesaver, @inforapound, for beta reading it so quickly 🌻
Let me know if you want to be tagged 😊
Min elskede: my love - Min skat: my treasure
the gif belongs to @ohbelllaciao
Summary: You’re pregnant, childish, cranky, hungry, moody and it’s the middle of the night. How’s Ivar going to react?
Warnings: soft, soft, soft Ivar and a lot of fluff.
Words: 2308
Hands on your lower back in a futile attempt to ease the shooting pain coursing through your spine, you slowly cross the room. The faint moonlight allows you to see that Ivar hasn't moved. Covered by many furs, lying on his side, his eyes are closed, his steady breathing just loud enough to hear.
You honestly resent him for sleeping peacefully when you haven't been able to for weeks. There are so many reasons for your sleepless nights: the constant need to empty your bladder, the feeling of choking as soon as you lie down, the midnight cravings, your inability to find a comfortable position in your shared bed, or the frantic kicks from the tiny human growing inside you as soon as you try to rest… You're exhausted. And mildly jealous.
Getting closer, you sink heavily onto the bed, releasing a deep sigh. Ivar immediately moves and groans, annoying you. He should know better and not dare to complain. "Ivar, don't expect me to apologize! I am warning you!" You hiss through clenched teeth, furrowing your brows. "Carry a baby for nine fucking moons and then, maybe, you'll be allowed to say something!"
Sitting up, he grabs a candle and lights it before shifting next to you.
Looking at him, you see his big, sleepy blue eyes staring at you, bewilderment written all over his face. "Min elskede, are you all right? Is there anything I can do?" There's no annoyance or impatience in his voice, and his gentleness stirs you up. You love him so much… Forgotten, your previous anger is replaced by an emotional roller-coaster bringing tears to your eyes.
Since you don't answer, he gets closer to you, squeezing both your hands in one of his. "Y/N, min elskede, why did you get up? Tell me please."
Using his free hand, he gently fixes a strand of your hair behind your ear.
"I don't know…" Shrugging your shoulders, you try to explain. "I had… I was too hot. And then I had to… pee…" You blush. "And now I wish I'd grab something to eat. I'm hungry. And I'm cold." Snuggling into his arms, you can't help but pout.
Smiling at you, he kisses softly the tip of your nose before speaking firmly, grabbing and patting a fluffy pillow. "I'll take care of everything. Lie down, min elskede." You're too exhausted to fight back and just do as you're told. Rewarded by a soft kiss on your forehead, Ivar folds several furs onto you and you give him a little smile.
You watch him as he throws himself onto the floor and starts crawling. The glorious sight of his nacked, chiseled chest is mesmerizing and painfully appealing. If you weren't so pregnant, you'd probably jump on him for a long and passionate lovemaking session. But here you are, huge and so weary that the simple thought of moving again exhausts you. Frustrated, you close your eyes, sighing heavily.
"I'll be right back, min elskede." Stopping at the doorway, Ivar gives you a last comforting smile and then disappears. You do know he'll come back with everything you could wish for, and undoubtedly more.
From the very beginning, Ivar has always been different around you. Nicer to you than to other people. Less prone to anger. You know it's because of the way you acted when you first met him. That night, for the first time in his life, he had been treated first as a human being, and not as a cripple.
He'd traveled all the way to Vestfold to ask your uncle, King Harald, for his support in his war against Lagertha. You, the illegitimate daughter of Halfdan the Black, the king's brother, lived most of the time further north with your mother, who had only been a one-night stand to your father. But once or twice a year, Harald invited you to Vestfold, usually for his own benefit.
That time, the king had asked you – urged you – to seduce Ivar the Boneless, in order to strengthen their alliance. You didn't like being treated like a courtesan and had locked yourself in your room. It had taken all your father's forcefulness to convince you to come out. When you had eventually entered the hall, the feast in honor of the youngest Ragnarsson was in full swing. Dressed in a beautiful burgundy red dress offered to you by King Harald, you had caught everyone's attention but only had eyes for your uncle's special guest. Immediately captivated by his perfect facial features, you had felt as if you were drowning in his unimaginably blue eyes as soon you had looked into them, your heart skipping a beat.
Sitting next to your uncle, the chair to his left was free, reserved for you according to your father's words. Taking your seat nervously, you had wondered if he could hear the frantic heartbeat in your chest.
From that moment on, it was just the two of you. You weren't even sure the world kept spinning. For hours, Ivar and you had been talking, smiling at each other, his hand grabbing yours under the table, your fingers stroking his knuckles.
You soon had realized that Ivar's reputation – a selfish, bloodthirsty and ruthless prince – only reflected part of the man he was: outstandingly intelligent, curious about everything, funny, smart and clever. He had asked you a lot of questions, wanted to know everything about you. You had told him about your village, about your mother's people, the Sami, and their peculiar customs. He had listened carefully, often asking you to clarify some details. He had been more reluctant to talk about his life, claiming that yours was much more exciting than his own, made of wars and blood.
When your completely drunk uncle had ended the feast, Ivar had put his hand on your forearm, tentatively offering to see you again the next day. Much to his surprise, you had agreed right away, a wide smile lighting up your face. And then a frown had crossed his face as he had lowered his head. "Y/N, I… There's something you need to know… "The panic was written all over his face. "I'm… not like everyone else." Swallowing, he had kept his head down.
Of course he wasn't. He was different. He had won your heart in a matter of hours. What was the problem? Then, realization had hit you. Of course. Speaking softly, you had grabbed his hand. "I know absolutely everything I need to know about you, Ivar."
Releasing a shaky breath, Ivar had shook his head. "No, you don't. You wouldn't have agreed to meet me again if you did. You wouldn't have agreed if you knew that I'm a cr—" Shushing him, one finger on his lips, one hand on his chin, you had forced him to look at you. "Ivar, I know your legs don't work. I knew all along. I knew when I sat next to you." He was bewildered and speechless. Shrugging, you had explained. "I don't care if you can't walk, Ivar, it doesn't matter. What matters though, it's what's there,” your hand had briefly grazed his chest, you had pointed at his heart, "and there,” your index finger had brushed his forehead as you had smiled once again. "So yes, I definitely want to meet you tomorrow." And then, your lips had audaciously found his, leaving him astounded.
You were already utterly in love. And so was he. That night, you spoke with your heart and Ivar believed you. And more importantly, from that night on, he trusted you, allowing himself to be soft and caring when it was just the two of you.
Abandoned to your memories, you sigh lovingly. Gods, this man is your everything and you love being the one with whom he's his true self. You know him like no one else does. And you see him for who he is. Not a king, not a cripple. Just a man; your man. Often stubborn, sometimes hot-tempered but always and unwaveringly loving.
Since you are with child, Ivar takes even greater care of you, his unexpected yet unfailing patience both surprizing and delighting you. Whether you're screaming, crying or sulking, he's always there, smiling, cheering you up, whatever the time of day or night. And no matter what you ask, he's always trying to meet all your needs, making a point of doing everything on his own.
Every night, since your first cravings many months ago, he brings you something to eat.
Every day, he massages your tense shoulders and your aching back, and then rubs your swollen legs.
At all times, he wordlessly endures your mood swings and tantrums.
Every morning, he helps you get dressed before braiding your hair while whispering words of love for only you to hear.
And every day, you feel guilty.
Since you're pregnant, you're not yourself. Most of the time you can't help it, but sometimes you realize what you're doing and blame yourself for treating your husband so poorly.
"Min elskede!" His voice pulls you out of your thoughts.
Pushing a heavy wooden tray in front of him, Ivar carefully crawls his way back. From where you are, you can see on the tray two bowls and one plate, all full of delicacies.
When he's close enough, Ivar hands you the tray before pulling himself up on the bed, taking a seat right next to you. Helping you sit up, he places a large cushion behind your back, his knuckles grazing your cheek while his lips briefly find yours.
Looking down, you stare in wonder at what Ivar brought you. Once again, he thought of everything: various dried meats, goat cheese, those blueberries you love so much and those pickled herrings you usually hate but are mad about since you are with child.
Suddenly feeling self-conscious, you let out an embarrassed laugh. "Ivar, I don't deserve this…" Blinking a few times, you grab his hand. "I don't deserve you."
He shakes his head, wrapping his arm around your shoulders. "Min elskede, you made me a man, then a husband." He tenderly puts his free hand on your huge belly. "And soon, I'll become a father. It's more than I could have hoped for. Of course you deserve this. You deserve even more than this." Before you can say anything, Ivar pops a blueberry in your mouth.
Patiently waiting for you to finish eating, Ivar keeps a soothing hand over your shoulders, absentmindedly massaging them while pecking you on the cheek. As soon as you finish, he puts the tray on the nightstand, nodding appreciatively as he sees the cleared plates.
"Min elskede, it's far from dawn, you should try to get back to sleep." You nod getting lost in a yawn and lay down, rolling on your side with effort. Ivar lays down as well, facing you, his right hand brushing your belly.
"I love you, Ivar, I love you so much. You're a wonderful husband and you're going to be an amazing father." Sighing, you close your eyes for an instant. "You'll be a much better father than yours or mine ever was." Your voice is shaky and you can see uncertainty on Ivar's face.
"I'll try, Y/N, I'll try really hard. I can promise that I'll do my best." His breath hitches as he grabs your hand, squeezing it. "But tell me… Tell me again…" He stops, eyes clearly watering. Swallowing, he winces before taking a deep breath. "Tell me… What are we going to do if the baby is… like me?"
That's his greatest fear. You know your husband is terrified. The thought of him passing his condition – his curse, as he says – on to your kid gives him nightmares. Since you have been with child, he's done everything he can not to bother you with it. Yet, the closer it gets, the less he manages to hide his worries.
A hand on his cheek, you give him a reassuring smile. "If the baby is like you, my king, we'll love them just as much. We'll be there for them at every step, and you can teach them everything you had to find out on your own. If the baby is like you, it will be their strength and we'll help them to make the most of it. And I promise you, Ivar, growing up, this child will have everything you didn’t." Eyes bathed in tears, Ivar sniffles as you grasp his hand, firmly putting it back on your belly. "However, because of those vigorous kicks…,” Ivar almost jumps, wide-eyed, as he feels something hitting his hand and you stifle a laugh, "… I strongly believe their legs will be perfectly healthy."
Closing his eyes, Ivar enjoys feeling the blows against his palm, but frowns as you hiss in pain, one of them reaching your ribcage.
Sitting upright and adjusting his legs, he takes the fur off, tossing it to the side before pushing your nightgown up. He gently presses his hand on your belly, his fingers freely running over your skin, before lowering his head. "Min skat, I know you can't wait to see the world, and the truth is, I can't wait to meet you. But for now, please, let your beautiful mother sleep." Whether it's Ivar's voice, or his touch, it works and you can feel your baby calm down. Ivar inhales deeply. "My father once told me that happiness was nothing. He couldn't be more wrong. Your mother made me a happy man, which I thought was impossible. She and I, together, will teach you love and happiness…"
As you struggle to hold back your tears, Ivar peppers light kisses all over your belly. "Go to sleep, baby…" He whispers… "Sleep, min skat."

Starving Affection
Summary: It had been five years since (Y/N) had any physical contact with another person. When she starts talking with a man online who reads her fanfics, a battle of her mind and body begins. When the time comes to meet him, she finds that there are still decent human beings in the world. Characters: Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Sami (OFC), Plus Size!Reader Pairing: Jensen x Plus Size!Reader Warnings: Angst/Fluff/Smut/Body Image Distortion Word Count: 9256 A/N: Again, me working through my feels. Thank you for allowing me to do so.
My chest tightened. Jaw clenched until my teeth hurt. My body rigid and frozen as panic flowed through my veins. The overly friendly, new teacher had her arms outstretched towards me. If I had been a normal person, I would gladly hold my arms out as well embracing her kindness and affection.
I was not normal.
“Hey Katy!” My partner teacher and best friend, Sami, headed her off by stepping in front of me and taking the hit of affection.
There was a special place in Heaven for Sami and if not, I would fight God themselves to make it so. I could see Sami whispering to Katy and a nod of acknowledgement told me I would not have to worry about her advancements again.
“Sorry (Y/N), I didn’t know you weren’t a hugger. How about a high five?” Her sweet gesture had my trembling hand stretching out to her as she quickly slapped it with her own.
Only Sami could see my flinch from the physical touch of someone. Everyone else summed it up to my quirky personality and weird aversion to being touched. Thankfully our English department meeting was over and I could escape to the safe haven of my car. Sami was close behind me waving goodbye to everyone.
I bumped my shoulder to hers as she was the only one I had no problem with minor touching, “Thank you for taking that hug for me.”
She laughed, “You’re lucky I’m a friendly and huggy person. Hey, I meant to ask you before school today, but how is counseling going?”
I cringed, averting my gaze from her, “It’s… going fine.”
She stopped me with a tap on my shoulder, “The truth, please.”
I sighed as my shoulders slumped in defeat, “I stopped going,” I saw the incoming assault in her narrowing sky colored eyes.
“(Y/N)! You were making such good progress with this counselor. I was even able to give you a one arm hug.” The disappointment in her voice weighed my shoulders down even more.
I leaned against my car pulling on the sleeves of my hoodie, “I know, I know. She had me go to one of her support groups and everyone had to hug someone. I… I just couldn’t. I tried three or four times going to the group and I failed every time.”
My eyes fell to the ground, disgust filling my mind, “Yes, you really are as pathetic as you’re sounding.” My inner voice snarked.
I heard Sami sigh, “It’s okay. We can work through it together. We can keep doing everything you liked from her and work at your pace.”
Looking up, I forced my lips into a small smile to appease my only real life friend, “That sounds good. Thanks Sami for putting up with me.”
I made my way home to a small ranch style home that was off the beaten path. My grandparents had left it to me knowing I would love the seclusion of it. It was my Fortress of Solitude. The only living thing, other than Sami, to be able to snuggle with me was Charlie the cat. The copper Main Coon was sitting by the door awaiting my arrival.
My evenings were always the same. Check in with my mom for an hour on the phone. Make or order dinner, which tonight was ordering pizza for the leftovers tomorrow. Turning on my favorite TV show, Supernatural, on Netflix and working on one of my millions of fanfics.
“Yes, stay in complete denial by hiding in your fantasy worlds and falling in love with fictional characters. Loser.”
I pushed my inner thoughts to the very back of my mind and focused on my current series I was writing. Pulling up Tumblr, I looked in my notifications seeing someone binge reading my masterlist. My heart always swelled with joy whenever someone took the time to read my writings. This person was also leaving feedback as well.
“ChevyMan67: I love this version of Dean! You truly have captured his personality and sarcasm.”
“ChevyMan67: I can’t get enough of this series! Please tell me there is more to come. I need to know if Dean finally falls in love and gets his apple pie life.”
I read through every comment and looked at every GIF the reader posted. I hit follow on his blog then took a few screenshots from my activity page, pulling up a blank post adding the pictures.
“Thank you to @ChevyMan67 for binging my stories! Your feedback means everything to me!”
As soon as I posted it there was a notification of a reblog from him. He posted a GIF of Dean screaming with #Fangirling flashing underneath. My cheeks ached from the unusual tension of a genuine smile spreading across my face.
Online I could be anyone I wanted. I would virtual hug and blow kisses at my friends. I was able to be more like the woman I was. Social, happy, carefree, open to others. I could be the woman I desperately wanted to be but my mind would not allow.
“Stay guarded. Remember what happened when you trusted him? Trusted his family? Never again. You promised never again.”
My indeed guard held the line at the gate of my mind. She stood in full armor and shield ready to throw off anyone that even attempted to break through to the part of me that desired to be a whole person again. I shook my head with a firm nod and reaffirmed my promise to myself to never let anyone that close to me again.
As I was closing down her computer for the evening, a ding caught my attention as a message came from Tumblr. Opening the window, I saw a DM from my newest follower.
“Hey there, I just wanted to say thank you for following me. Apparently I’m a rarity on here for being male and a fan of Supernatural. I truly love all your writings and can’t wait to read more. Hopefully, we can get to know each other better and become friends. Anyway, I’ll leave you alone. Message me any time. Goodnight.”
I re-read the message several times before closing my computer. Sure I had people message me for small talk and a few close friends I had on there. This felt different. Something deep within me sparked and I did not know how to react. There was only one person I knew I could go to and her reaction was more frightening than the thought of responding to ChevyMan67. That night was the first of many restless nights for me.
A week later, I finally sat down and responded to him.
“Hey, I’m sorry it took me so long to respond. I’m… well, I’m not used to talking to guys here. I think it’s great that you’re on here and reading, BTW. I’m working on a few pieces right now, maybe you could beta for me if you have time. I hope we can be friends as well. Have a good weekend!”
I was nearly hyperventilating when I hit enter sending the message. I tried to work on my newest one shot story and ignore my anxious heart awaiting for the ding. It was not until I was in bed watching my favorite episode of Supernatural that my phone chimed.
“Tumblr: Message from ChevyMan67”
My finger hovered for a moment before opening the app. The message opened and I let out a air I had been holding in my chest.
“No worries. Everyone is busy and has their “real life” to attend too. I work odd hours and days all the time so I get it. I would LOVE to beta for you!!!! Reading your work before it’s posted online? HELL YEAH! I feel honored you asked and I’m fanboying hard right now. Crap… that sounded… I mean. Sorry lol. You can send your fics to [email protected]. Looking forward to hearing from you again.”
Over the next six months, Ross and I talked throughout our days getting to know one another. Three month into Tumblr messenger and dumb updates, he gave me his cell number to text one another. At times, I would have to catch myself from laughing while my students took a test. Everyone around me started to notice the small changes in me. Smiling more, talking more and one student commented on me wearing bright colors.
“You look good in yellow Miss (Y/L/N).”
However it was Sami who demanded to know all about the changes going on with me. We sat at our favorite restaurant, the first round of drinks being set in front of us. After the waiter took our order, Sami began her interrogation.
“Tell. Me. Everything. You’ve been keeping me at bay and I’ve respected your space, but you have seemingly blossomed in the last few months. Spill.”
I bit my lower lip as my phone sounded with an all to familiar chime. I went to grab my phone when Sami placed her hand over it, “Me first. Tumblr second.”
“It’s not Tumblr. Let me reply to him and then I will tell you everything.” I dared to look up to see my best friend’s face frozen in shock.
Her eyes wide and mouth gaping, “Him?!”
I nodded reading Ross’s message, “Hey I know you’re out with Sami and going to tell her about little ole me. I just wanted to make sure you were still thinking about what I asked last night. Can’t wait to hear from you soon. Not now though, have fun with Sami.”
I smiled, locking my phone and putting it in my purse looking back to my ridiculously happy friend, “His name is Ross.”
There was a loud, attention grabbing squeal from her as I shushed her, “Leave out no details…” she rested her perfect chin on her folded hands.
I told her all about Ross and how we began talking. I told her everything I knew about him and what he knew about me. Finally, as our food came out and drinks were refilled, I told her about what he had dropped on me the previous night.
“He asked me to meet him at the Supernatural Convention in Dallas next month. He already has the passes paid for and a few photo ops that we could share.” My heart raced at the thought of meeting Ross and meeting my favorite celebrities all at the same time.
Sami’s smile faded slightly, “Does he know about your struggles with being touched?”
I nodded, “It was one of the first personal things I told him. He’s still talking to me so I took that as a frightening good sign.”
“What are you feeling?” her point blank question shook me for a moment.
My fingers drummed against the table, “I’m nervous, scared, anxious…” I paused for a moment before looking up at her with a smile.
“I’m also excited, hopeful and curious.”
Sami held out her hands to me, palms up and I hesitantly placed my hands in hers. It was something we had been working on for the last couple of months. This was the first time I allowed her to squeeze my hands.
“You really like him.” She whispered smiling like a fool.
I felt my own smile mirroring hers, “Yes I do and that scares me shitless.”
The rest of the evening felt like the old days before my life fell apart. When I got home, I decided to test my luck. Pulling up Ross’s number, my thumb hovered over it until I smashed it hearing it ringing.
“Well hello, this is a surprise.” His velvety smooth voice sent shivers down my body, “Take a deep breath and know it’s okay if you hang up to just text me.”
“N-No, I’ll be okay.” I stammered as he let out a low chuckle.
I could hear him moving away from other voices around him, “I interrupted something…” Guilt and shame weighing my shoulders down.
“Not at all. They can wait, you calling me is an important moment. Not everyday, I get to speak to my favorite writer on the phone.” His compliments calmed my queasy stomach, “Could I be so hopeful that this phone call is working up to a good answer?”
I took a deep breath in and let out slowly, “Yes.” The word seems foregin to her as it left my lips.
“Yes I can be hopeful or yes to my question?” His jovial banter eased the tension in my shoulders.
“Yes.” I tried to sound a little more confident, my heart beating against my chest.
There was a moment of silence before loud cheering and yelling came through her speaker. His excitement was silenced by my own unfamiliar laughter. Suddenly I was hyper aware that he was no longer making any noises. Panic and fear swelling inside me.
A soft sigh came from him, “You have a beautiful laugh. I can’t wait to hear it again.”
My cheeks burned, “Thank you.”
Ross told me he would send all the details for our trip and that I was not to worry about money of any kind. Mentally, I began planning out how to save as much money as I could in the next four weeks. Thankfully, my savings was built up enough to take a small hit and not dip into her emergency fund. Over the next several weeks, I began to prepare for my first convention, first time meeting an online friend, first time traveling by myself, first time facing the unknown in five years.
The morning of my travel day, I went over to Sami’s house with Charlie. I was surprised to see her sister sitting there. She waved to me before taking Charlie’s crate.
“What’s going on?” I looked around seeing Sami’s suitcase packed by the door.
She smiled, “Your friend Ross, reached out to me.”
The color from my face drained for a moment, “H-He did… How?”
“He found me on your Instagram page. DM me asking me to join you on your trip. Stating and I quote, ‘I know you being there with (Y/N) will make her more comfortable. I want this weekend to go as comfortably as possible for her. I know it’s a big step and I want her to be taken care of.’”
She smiled softly as my vision blurred from tears slipping down my face, “Oh… wow.”
“Yeah, he’s pretty amazing (Y/N/N). If you were ever going to work on overcoming your touch aversion this would be the man to do it for.” Sami turned around to help her sister, leaving me to my own thoughts.
“Absolutely not! There is no way he is getting through my defenses. I have held strong for five years. Your heart and mind are safe within my holds.”
“Do you really think he’s going to want to touch you? Look at yourself. Lumpy. Chunky. Squishy. Dull (Y/C/H) hair. Boring (Y/C/E) eyes. Not even a decent pair of boobs or ass. You’re nothing special. Always remember that you’re nothing special.”
“(Y/N)? (Y/N) stop it.” Sami’s voice rang clear bringing me back to the present.
I nodded slowly, “Sorry. I zoned out.”
“Freaked out. We will work through it. Sara is gonna drive us to the airport and we have an hour to chat. Okay?”
It was in the moment that I noticed my best friend had absentmindedly placed her hand on my shoulder and I did not flinch. My eyes looked to her hand and back to her, “You’re touching my shoulder.”
“Crap, I’m so sor…” she started to say but my bright smile stopped her, “What?”
I placed my hand on top of hers, “I didn’t flinch or move or even notice you did it.”
Now her smile was matching mine and we had a moment of pure excitement jumping around each other. True to her word, we spent the hour on the plane doing some meditative exercises. I thanked every high power who would listen for my best friend getting her psychology degree.
There was a man waiting with our names on a piece of paper. He took our bags and drove us to a hotel near where the convention was being held. Sami checked us in since there were so many people inside and my anxiety started to flare up.
Breathe in counting to six. Breathe out counting to six.
I repeated my breathing exercise until Sami returned her brow furrowed, “What is it?”
“I don’t know who Ross knows, but he must be connected in some way. We have a suite on the fourteenth floor.”
My jaw dropped slightly before I stood up bracing myself for the next hurdle of getting through the elevator ride. Luckily, there were only two other girls in the car and I could safely keep my distance from them.
“I heard that Jensen is staying at this hotel.” One mentioned as the other rolled her eyes.
“Yeah right. This is Dallas, I’m sure he’s probably staying with his family or something.”
The girls exit on the eighth floor and before the doors could close Sami and I were chuckling to ourselves. The chances of Jensen Ackles staying at this hotel would be astronomical. The car dinged for the top floor and opened to a small hallway. When we opened the door to our suite neither of us spoke.
Sami walked throughout the entire room before I could even move from the entryway, “This room is amazing! Check out the view we have (Y/N).”
“Hold on. Having a moment.” I breathed as Sami came to my side and I held my hand out, “I’m fine. Just need a moment to make sure this is real and not a dream.”
I watched as she walked over to the coffee table where there was a gift basket and she held up a small notecard, “Oh it’s real.”
“(Y/N) and Sami, I hope you love your room. Enjoy your night and order anything you want. The front desk knows it’s all on my tab. I’m hoping you both will join me for dinner tomorrow night after registration. Sadly, my job won’t let me leave before then. I look forward to meeting you both. -R PS: I highly recommend the spa and they have a large private jacuzzi just for you, (Y/N).”
Sami sighed, “I really hope he has a single brother, cousin, friend that is like him for me.”
I rolled my eyes walking over to the large windows looking out. Flashes of the last time I was in Dallas popping into my mind. I shivered as the one voice I hated yelled loudly in my ears. My hands covered them and I felt Sami tap my shoulder twice. For the first time, in several years, I reached out to her and gripped her arms.
“(Y/N) remember why we’re here. Remember talking with Ross on the phone. The tone of Ross’s voice. His laughter.” Her calm tone eased me out of the wretched memory.
She guided me over to the couch and went to get me a glass of water. I sipped it slowly before squeezing her hand, “Thank you.”
“You know, I can get used to you reaching out to me. Feels like the (Y/N) I knew coming back.” Sami squeezed my hand back before I let slip from her grasp.
She was right, the woman I once was before my ex was fighting her way to get out again. Still, my guard was up standing fortified at the gate.
That evening was a girls’ night of epic proportions. They went to the spa where (Y/N) sat in her private jacuzzi while Sami received the best massage of her life. Afterwards, we ordered our dinner from room service making moderate choices since neither of us were paying. When our food came there was a special dessert also with another note.
“A little birdy told me that your favorite dessert was French Silk pie. I wanted you to have a slice and some New York Style cheesecake for Sami. Have a wonderful night.”
Sami whistled, “Man, he has it bad for you.”
“Shut up.” I muttered lifting the dome to see a delicious slice of pie.
As they ate and talked, Sami took my phone taking pictures of them enjoying a very Sam and Dean style dinner. Sami having a Chef’s salad with honey mustard dressing. I took a picture of my dinner sending it to Ross with a text saying thank you.
“Dean would be proud! That bacon cheeseburger looks good. Enjoy!”
I smiled the entire time I ate my burger. Finishing out meals, Sami hooked up her laptop putting on Supernatural. I decided to try and work on some stories when a terrifying thought crossed my mind. I looked up to the screen as Dean began to talk. I closed my eyes listening carefully to his voice. The low tone and smoothness of it. It was the way he said the word writer that had my eyes snapping open and a gasp escaping my lips.
“What? What is it?” Sami sat up concerning filling her eyes.
Like pieces to a puzzle everything snapped into place. All the small details that would go unnoticed by someone who would never expect it. Sami tapped my shoulder and I turned to her with wide eyes.
“Ross… that’s Jensen’s middle name.” I mumbled reaching for my phone.
Sami stood up pausing the episode, “Okay… what are you getting at.”
“Listen.” I played for her the voicemail he had left a few days earlier, “Now play the episode.”
Sami’s eyes connected to her, “No way.”
“Ross is Jensen Ackles.”
That night my dreams were filled with my ex yelling at me. Fat shaming me. Calling me a loser. Calling me useless for not being able to bear children. His looming form made me coward into a ball on the floor. I woke up several times during the night, the final time close to six in the morning. Sami was peacefully sleeping on her side of the bed.
I picked up my phone going into the living area and dialing the all too familiar number. On the third ring she was going to hang up, but then his groggy voice pierced my ears.
“(Y/N), is everything alright?” All I could hear was Dean, which meant that it was truly Jensen on the other side.
“You tell me, Jensen.” I heard him sit up as I began to pace near the window.
A long sigh came from him, “I knew you would figure it out before meeting me.”
I scoffed, “Is this some kind of celebrity joke or prank? Pretend to be someone’s friend and embarrass them when they meet you.”
My guard was shaking her head muttering, “Told you so…”
“No, (Y/N) it’s nothing like that. Misha had read some of your stories and suggested I should read them. At first, I thought it would be weird because I’ve never read fanfiction before, but your writing… it drew me in.” His words came out all in one breath.
I froze, “M-Misha read my stories? Oh god…” My body burned from embarrassment.
“Honestly, there’s not a person on our crew that hasn’t read at least one of your stories. You’re talented and the way you write for the boys is amazing. Our own writer’s are impressed with your talent.”
I groaned slumping down to the floor, “This was all a mistake.” The last thing I heard before ending the call was rustling around as if Jensen was moving from his bed.
My phone slipped from my hand as tears streamed down my face. I closed my eyes allowing my inner voices to consume me. Dragging me down into the darkness.
“You fool! Here I stood guarding you from this and still you allowed someone in. You deserve what is coming to you!”
“You useless piece of nothing! You’re the biggest joke this world ever created. Fat, ugly, even your body can’t do the one basic thing god made it to do. You’re worthless. Sucking up air that could be used on someone contributing to the world. No matter what anyone says you will always be the biggest failure in this world. You. Are. Nothing.”
I felt someone tapping on my shoulder and I tightened myself into a ball, “Go away Sami.”
The tapping continued and I reached out grasping an unfamiliar hand. My eyes snapped open and were met with concerning, piercing olive eyes. The eyes I stared at for hours on my TV. The eyes I wrote about in hundreds of thousands of words online.
As soon as my eyes opened he withdrew his hand and my heart sank further into darkness, “I told you. He will never want to touch your disgusting body.” The snide voice of my inner self whispered.
“(Y/N), please hear me out. Please for five minutes just listen to my side.” He sat across from me leaving a foot of distance between us.
I nodded looking up as Sami gently touched his shoulder, “I will be just outside if you need me.”
He waited for the door to close to start talking. His large hands rubbing against his cotton covered thighs.
“I started reading your masterlist on Tumblr and couldn’t get enough of your stories. I didn’t know exactly how to work Tumblr so Misha showed me how. I noticed you don’t get a lot of notes and I wanted everyone to notice you. I started sharing your work with everyone after sending you that message.”
He paused for a moment as I fidget with the hem of my shirt, “Why did you message me?”
His smile was more radiant in person, “It’s just as I said. I loved your work and I wanted to be friends. However, the more I got to know you… the more I wanted to meet you in person. I knew that would be problematic.”
“Yeah, you could say that.” I scoffed looking down to my hands.
He inhaled a deep breath, “You connect with Dean Winchester the same way I do. To find someone like that is a once in a lifetime chance. I want someone who I can gush over Dean with because soon I won’t be hanging out with him as much and he’s the best imaginary friend I’ve ever had.”
Seeing Jensen open himself up to me was creating a battle of mind and body within me. He was just as nervous as I was to open up to someone else. Suddenly, I did not feel so alone in my isolation. My hand trembled as I reached over placing it atop of his.
“Dean Winchester saved my life and I don’t mean that figuratively. I was on the verge of leaping into darkness when I found him getting Sammy to find their dad. I found the strength to carry on because I knew that was what Dean would do. I found that being broken wasn’t a bad thing but something that could drive you to keep working. Dean helped me to feel again when I had become numb to the world around me.”
His eyes shined as I spoke trying to hold back his own tears, “I’m glad he could be there for you when you needed him the most.”
“Then you came into my life when I least expected it.” I whispered as I squeezed his hand.
My mind was screaming at me to get as far away from him as I possibly could. To call out to Sami to make him leave and move out of the state disappearing from the world. However, my body was urging me to jump into his arms. To open myself up to him as he had done with me. I felt like a spring coil ready to snap. My mind was holding my body back waiting for my consciousness to make a decision.
And she did.
I launched myself into his arms startling him as we crashed to the floor. His arms instinctively wrapped around me as mine encircled his neck. The door flew open as Sami came rushing in as Jensen’s laughter filled the room. I hugged him tighter to me as he tightened his grip around me.
“Oh my god… (Y/N), you’re hugging him.”
I did not need to open my eyes to know tears were slipping down my best friend’s cheeks. Her voice was thick with utter joy and amazement.
“Does this hug mean that you don’t hate me?” His question caught me off guard.
Jensen’s hands kept me in place as he sat up swinging my legs across his. My arms are still around his neck not wanting to lose the connection. Now that my body was against his, it flooded with the strange feeling of desire. Sami joined them on the floor sitting cross legged in front of them.
“I don’t think I could ever hate you. Though I’m still upset you lied to me.” I rested my head on my arm and against the side of his neck.
Feeling him sigh and seeing Sami grinning, I knew this was a big moment for all of us. We sat on the floor for another hour talking before Jensen had to go back to his room to get ready for the day. Neither of us wanted to let go of the other. He hugged me one last time before walking out of the suite. When I turned around I was immediately engulfed into another hug.
“I’m so proud of you!” Sami squealed.
“Thanks, I think…” My sentence drifted and she pulled away from me.
I walked back toward the bed and flopped face first onto it. I felt her crawl up on the bed beside me knowing me well enough to give me space.
“Talk it out, (Y/N). What are you feeling?”
My cheeks burned from the first feeling to pop into my head, “I feel warm, anxious, happy...” I paused gathering the courage to say the last word, “desire.”
“I’m sorry, what was that last one?” Sami eagerly asked.
I sat up, “Desire.” Saying the very word felt weird.
She began to clap and raised her hands in the air, “Praise the lord!”
“Don’t get all weird about it. I don’t know what any of this means. My body is tingling…”
Sami interrupted, “I bet it does…”
“Shut up, mostly not in that way. I don’t know how to act around other people anymore. What is too much touching? What is too little? What does a hug mean? I have too many questions and all the answers just walked out the door.”
I looked over as my phone chimed seeing a message from Ross, “I guess I need to change that now.” I murmured as I pulled up his message.
“First, thank you for trusting me with a hug. It means the world to me. I wanted to know if you wanted to have an early lunch with me? We could eat in my room or restaurant or your room with Sami. Whatever you are most comfortable with. Let me know.”
I held my phone up for Sami to read and she jumped off the bed, “You can have our room. I will go entertain myself by the pool.”
I texted him back that he could come to my room as Sami began tossing clothes out on the bed, “What are you doing?”
“Finding you the perfect outfit. Now go shower so I can play dress up with you.” She clapped her hands excitedly as I groaned loudly.
Looking in the mirror again, I pulled at the shirt clingy to every soft, round surface of my waist. I pushed my stomach watching as it bounced back into place like jello. Turning to the side, I sucked as many rolls as I could inward, holding my breath. The air rushed from my lips as a knock came from the door. Making my way towards it, I grabbed my zip-up hoodie slipping my arms in it quickly.
“Hi.” The word came out more breathlessly than I wanted.
My inner voice whispering, “Yeah fatty, let him know that walking across the room makes you lose your breath.”
“Hey there, I hope you don’t mind that I went ahead and grabbed lunch for us.” Jensen held up a paper bag from a local sandwich spot.
As he walked in, I took a moment to truly admire him. He looked like a male model in his tight dark jeans, black boots, dark olive Henley and sunglasses resting on top of his unruly, sandy brown hair. His smooth voice caught my attention.
“You could take a picture and it would last longer.” He chuckled sitting down on the couch and laying out their lunch.
I sat on the opposite side of him as far away as I could. Even though my body desperately wanted to be closer to him, I kept my distance not pushing my mental capacity. He glanced over a hint of disappointment in his eyes seeing me so far away.
Jensen slid a sandwich towards me, “I remember you telling me that you love ham and swiss with tomato.”
“Thank you.” I unwrapped the sandwich and grabbed a bag of chips.
We ate in silence as a strange tension built between us. My stomach churning to the point I could no longer eat. I would look over to him out of the corner of my eye to find his eyes drifting over me. I wrapped my hoodie around me instinctively trying to hide the imperfections.
“There’s no hoodie big enough to hide your ugliness.” The familiar voice whispered.
I shook my head when I heard music playing, looking back to Jensen. He smiled sheepishly as he set his phone on the table.
“I thought maybe some background noise would help,” He stood up clearing the food from the table then stood in front of me with his hand out, “Trust me?”
His eyes were shining from the afternoon rays of sun coming from the window and his lips were spread in a gentle smile. I exhaled slowly allowing all the tension to leave my body and placed my hand in his. He pulled me up from the couch taking my hands and placing them behind his neck. His large hands slid down my sides to my hips and I flinched.
“You do know that you’re beautiful, right?” He whispered swaying my body with the music.
I shook my head, “I’m really not. Ordinary at best.”
Jensen lifted my chin, piercing (Y/C/E) meeting , “You are far from ordinary, (Y/N).”
“You’re just being kind.” I looked away as he slowly turned us in a circle.
The music continued but Jensen stopped moving, “I have so many questions but I don’t want to make you uncomfortable or have you running to the hills.”
“Questions for me? Surely, you have better things to do with your time other than sitting inside with me. Don’t you have fans to entertain?” I smirked.
He chuckled, “Lucky for you, I happen to have the day off. I normally spend the day with my family. However this year they all ditched me.”
I mockingly acted shocked, “Oh no! You poor thing.”
His eyes narrowed in on me before laughing, “My mom and dad are somewhere in Spain enjoying their anniversary gift. My sister decided a girls trip with her best friends was better than hanging with me for the day. My brother is always busy with his family. You’re stuck with me.”
“I guess there’s worse ways to spend my day. Okay, ask away but I’m not promising I’ll answer them all.”
Jensen led me back to the couch, but kept ahold of my hand as we sat back down. He laced his long fingers with mine. His thumb brushing over my knuckle. I settled back against the couch once again wrapping my hoodie around me.
“What were you thinking when I put my hands on your hips earlier?”
I bit my lower lip, “I was mortified that you were touching my squish rolls of skin. I was thinking you must be disgusted by it.”
“Wow…” He squeezed my hand, “Whoever he was he really did a number on you. If I ask his name and address would you be against me and Jared beating the crap out of him?”
A genuine burst of laughter echoed in the room, “He’s really not worth it. Plus, he is much happier with his life now and that’s all that matters. He deserves to be happy.”
I was surprised to see Jensen face scrunched up in anger, “But you don’t?” He leaned in slightly, his features softening.
“No, I don’t.” The words came out without even a second thought and seeing Jensen recoil from them as if they had slapped him in the face twisted my heart.
His tongue darted out over his lips and the electrical energy between us sparked wildly, “You’re wrong. You deserve all the happiness in the world. Any man who told you otherwise is no man at all.”
He was leaning in closer, his eyes never leaving mine. My heart pounding in my ears and my body urging me to meet him in the middle. His forehead pressed against mine and his nose caressed mine.
“I’m going to kiss you.” he whispered.
“I don’t think I remember how to kiss back.” The pathetic confession was followed by a wayward tear slipping down my cheek.
His soft, full lips pressed gently against mine. My mind searched for the file within the long abandoned cabinets for how to kiss someone. He pulled away for a split second only to return his lips to mine. I found my lips pushing against his out of basic instinct. Our lips melded together for a moment before I felt him smile against mine.
His hands cupping my face, “I think it will all come back to you easier than you may think.”
I took in a deep breath letting it out in a short burst, “I think you believe in me too much for only meeting me a few hours ago.”
Jensen was still holding my face as he leaned back, “Other than Jared and Mish, I have never felt closer to anyone, but you.”
“You have your work cut out for you then,” I pointed to my head, “because it’s a nightmarish mess up in here.”
He leaned in kissing me once again, “You are worth every second of being with you because you’re stunning, smart, talented, caring and most of all you’re beautiful inside and out.”
I stared up at him speechless as my inner guard laid down her shield, “I like this one.”
“No… no one has ever said that about me. I-I don’t know what to say or how to react.” I stammered, unable to comprehend what he said.
He smiled widely, “Get used to that feeling because I’m preparing for you to feel that way a lot. Now, I don’t want to test your boundaries too much so I think we should hang out here and watch a movie.”
Jensen moved to the end of the couch resting his arm along the back of it and propping his feet on the table. For the first time in forever, there were no inner voices to keep me from doing what I desperately wanted. I moved over next to him resting my back into his side and stretching my legs out to the other end of the couch. His arm draped over the front of my chest and his fingertips brushed against my side.
This time there was no flinching and I smiled at the small victory.
The rest of the weekend was like a dream. Seeing the convention backstage, meeting all the rest of the other actors on the show and most of all Jensen’s constant touch comforted me throughout it all. Sami beaming with pride as I pushed myself to be in the crowd for the concert on Saturday. When Sunday came, I found myself riddled with sadness knowing I would have to leave this magical weekend behind.
Sami had decided to go back to the hotel while I waited for Jensen to finish his autographs. I had noticed Clif, the boys’ friend and bodyguard, staying close by me. When the last fan left the autograph room, he motioned for me to follow him. Entering the room, I found Jensen with his head down on his table while Jared and Misha were fooling around at theirs.
Walking up, I slid my hands over his shoulders and began rubbing the knots out of them. A small groan escaping his lips sent a wave of desire over my body. I moved my hands down his back eagerly wanting to hear him again.
“Hey, if you’re giving free massages away I’ll take one!” Jared called out.
Jensen’s head snapped up, “Don’t even think about it Padalecki. Her hands are too precious for your sweaty self.”
I chuckled as he stood up letting my hands drift down his back. I knew he was fit but his body was firm and lean in all the right spots. As he moved away I found my fingers stretching out to touch him again. All weekend I had found myself craving his touch. My mind was obsessively thinking about his hand in mine or my arms around his waist or his hands gripping my hips. My cheeks felt like they were on fire and I heard him chuckle.
“You okay? You kind of spaced out for a moment.”
I nodded smiling, “I’m great. Just thinking was all.”
“Well come on, you and I can grab something to eat then hang out in my room.” His arm slipped around my shoulders and instantly I relaxed into his embrace.
Dinner was unexpectedly crashed by Jared and Misha tagging along. We found a twenty-four hours diner near the hotel that was nearly empty and we all spent a few hours talking, laughing. I could not help the sadness creeping over me as the minutes passed by. Minutes I was losing to have Jensen to myself. As if he read my mind he excused us to head back to the hotel.
We walked in silence, hand in hand. Stepping into the elevator, he pulled me into his side and I wrapped my arms around his waist. His room was on the opposite end of the same hall as mine. Stepping inside, the door clicking shut as we stood across from one another. It was like a shotgun going off as Jensen closed the distance between us. His hands sliding down my body as his mouth crashed to mine.
As suddenly as it happened, it was over.
“I’m sorry… shit. (Y/N) I’m really sorry.” His pleads confused me for a moment.
Breathing heavily as he stepped back further from me I blurted out, “W-Why are you apologizing? D-Did I do something wrong?”
His dark forest eyes snapped up, “You do something… you didn’t do anything but be you, (Y/N). I just couldn’t stop myself. This weekend has been the best one in my life. Being around you, holding your hand, kissing you has rejuvenated me. I just want more of you, all of you. Simple looks you give, the way you hold yourself and the moment you open yourself up to reach out to me. I just found myself unable to hold back anymore. I know…”
This time it was me who closed the distance between us. My lips crashing into his. My hands running up his broad chest and into his soft hair. The soft moan escaping my lips as we parted.
“I want you to have me…” I whispered in between breaths, “I’m nervous with a bunch of what ifs running in my head.”
“Do you trust me?” The corner of his lip curling upward.
“Yes.”
Jensen took my hand leading me into the bedroom of his suite. He gently picked me up and sat me on the bed. He knelt in front of me, slipping my shoes from my feet then pulling my socks off. His thumbs pressing into the bottom of my feet as I began to giggle.
“Oh… now that is an amazing sound. I must hear that again.” He smirked, tickling my feet.
I fell back in a fit of giggles as Jensen’s laughter joined mine. I leaned up on my elbows looking down at Jensen resting his chin on my knee. He lifted his brows asking permission and I nodded. His hands drifted over my calves, up to my knees and over my thighs.
“You have incredible legs. I found myself staring at them as you would walk in front of me with Sami. Wondering how they would feel beneath my hands.” He gently squeezed them near my hips.
His knee pressed into the mattress between my legs as his firm body hovered over mine. My fingers brushed against the hem of his shirt pushing it up and hesitantly touching his stomach. Jensen sucked in a quick breath as his hands paused on his hips. I focused on the feeling of his smooth, warm skin beneath my fingertips. His flat stomach is surprisingly soft.
I grasped the end of his shirt pulling it towards his head as he pulled back allowing it over his head. Taking it from my hands, he tossed it on the floor. I took in every inch of his skin from his muscles flexing to the freckles decorating it.
“You beautiful, you know that?” I did not think he heard me until I saw the smug smirk on his face.
He leaned down kissing me, “Stealing my lines, sweetheart.”
His hands went back to my hips as his lips left a trail of kisses down my neck, “You think that your softness is revolting, but I find it inviting.”
I froze as his hand pushed up into my shirt touching my stomach. I squirmed as he pushed my shirt up just under my bra. My hands threading through his hair as his lips pressed small kisses against my stomach.
“Jensen…” The tension in my tone caught his attention.
His eyes filled with worry, “Too much?”
I took a few deep breaths and shook my head, “I’m fine, promise.”
“See there you go, being brave and pushing yourself. You have no idea how sexy that is.” He murmured against my skin.
As Jensen’s mouth neared the waistband of my jeans, I tugged his hair motioning for him to come back up to her. He smiled randomly kissing spots along my body. His lips finally met mine as I slid my arms around him. His tongue swiped across my bottom lip as they parted for him. His gentleness and care to make me comfortable broke down the last existing wall of defense.
Their kiss deepened. My body burned with a need to feel Jensen’s skin against mine and to be close to him in every way physically possible. Foreign pressure began to simmer deep within me and I lifted my hips pressing them against his thigh.
He pulled away his eyes blown with passion searching mine for an answer to a silent question.
“Please… take away everything he did. I want to feel whole again.” I pleaded just above a whisper.
His lips were on mine again as he gently lifted me up further onto his bed. Sitting up, I pulled my shirt over my head holding it in front of me for a brief moment. His eyes watching my every move as I tossed it over the side. He reached behind me with one hand unclasping my bra in one swift movement.
I kissed his collarbone as he leaned in to do so, “Show off.”
He chuckled before leaning back and allowing me at my pace to unveiling my bare chest to him. I slid the straps down my arms holding it in place before playfully tossing it at him chuckling. Joking had always been my way of dealing with uncomfortable moments. When I looked up his eyes were drifting down my bare upper body.
“You’re beautiful, you know that?” He smirked as I rolled my eyes at him, “Seriously, (Y/N)... you’re absolutely stunning.”
He ran his hand down my chest, between my breasts and down to my jeans. He undid the button and slowly drew down the zipper. Hooking his fingers with a belt loops dragging my jeans down my legs. I shivered as the cool air hit my skin. Jensen tossed them off to the side then began to place gentle, open mouth kisses up my leg.
My breaths were coming out in small little puffs the further up my leg he got. His mouth hovered over her cotton cover mound inching closer to it. My teeth dug into my lip desperately wanting him to press them against me. Instead he kept his path up my body stopping at my breasts. He cupped the side of one running his thumb over my nipple.
A long sigh escaping my lips from just the slightest touch from him, “O-Oh… Jensen…” His mouth had gently suckled my other nipple, the pressure turning to an ache between my legs.
“You have no idea hearing my name from your lips does to me.” He softly said before circling my nipple with his tongue.
Feeling bold, I slid my hand down between us running it along the hard bulge being restrained by denim. Jensen sucked in a sharp breath dropping his head between my breasts, “Shit…”
“I believe I have some kind of an idea.” I smiled as he grinded himself against my palm.
He stood up at the edge of the bed, his intense stare making me tremble with anticipation. Leaning forward, his fingers hooked the sides of her cotton panties and pulled them down until they were on the floor.
“Exquisite, flawless, perfect.”
“As are you.” I sat up until I was sitting on the edge in front of him.
My hands trembled as I unbuttoned his jeans and carefully unzipped them. Jensen let out a soft hiss as I brushed against his length. His hands cupped my face pulling my lips to his urgently kissing me. I pushed his jeans and boxers down as far as I could before he pushed me back onto the mattress. His hand drifting down my body until his fingers pressed against my folds.
“Jensen, please…” I begged needing to feel any kind of relief from the pressure pulsating from between my legs, “Ohhh… god.”
Jensen began to rub lazy circles against my clit. My hips grinding against his hand as his lips pressed just below my ear, “Are you okay?”
His question sober me from the drunken stupor of desire and I placed my hand over his pushing down further, “More than okay.”
Jensen pushed one long finger deep inside me with a hiss, “Fuck pretty girl, your so tight.” He slowly pushed a second finger inside.
My head pressed against the mattress, my back arching as he pumped his thick fingers in me, “More, oh please Jensen, I need more.”
His pace picked up and I looked up to his face. His eyes wide and dark watching me come undone as his thumb rubbed harshly against my throbbing clit, “Jensen!” I cried out overwhelming pleasure wrecked through my body.
Breathing heavily, my body shaking slightly as he pulled his fingers from me, “Now that was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.”
A slow grin spread across my face as I pulled his mouth to mine. He positioned himself between my legs pulling away slightly, his lips grazing against mine.
“Are you sure? We can stop if you want.” Jensen’s tone was tense as I felt his length resting against my folds.
I kissed him, “I need you. All of you.”
He braced himself up with one arm as his hand slipped between us. Jensen ran the swollen head along my slickness before nudging it against my entrance. The room filled with groans and heavy breaths as Jensen slowly sheathed himself within me. There was a singe of pain as I stretched taking him his thick length but quickly was replaced with immense pleasure as he thrusted gently into me.
“So. Tight.” He panted against my cheek.
I wrapped my arms and legs around him digging my heels into him. Each stroke pushing me further to the edge. Feeling every muscle straining along his back and arms. His head buried in the crook of my neck grunting almost painfully. I knew then he was holding back.
I pressed my lips to his ear, “Jensen, I won’t break. You’re making me feel incredible, but I want you to let go. Show me how I make you feel.”
A low growl rumbled from his chest as he nipped at my neck and his hips snapped against me. The echoes of our skin meeting, loving praises and the headboard against the wall filled the room. I started to meet each thrust of his, the coil within me ready to snap. His hands were gripping my shoulders holding me against his burning body. I clung to him scraping my nails against his back making him growl again.
“Shit Jensen, I’m so close. Just a little more, oh god please!” I beg as he thrusted into me feverishly small grunts coming from him, “Yes, yes, oh… Jensen!”
My whole body was shaking as an intense wave of euphoria covered me. Pulsating around him, he abandoned all control chasing his own release.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck!” He gritted his teeth as his body went rigid before slamming into me his length twitching deep within me, “Holy shit…”
Jensen rode out his release, his arms shaking to the point he could not hold himself up anymore. I groaned as he pulled out leaving me empty. He rolled onto his back breathing heavily as I curled into his side burying my head into his chest.
“What’s wrong? Did I hurt you?” His concern only made me cling to him more.
I shook my head, “No, I’m just overwhelmed. Too many feelings at once.”
“Talk it out. Tell me what you’re feeling.” Jensen wrapped his arms around me holding me close.
I took a deep breath, “I’m feeling exhilaration, bliss, pleasure. Right now, I’m feeling empty and it’s almost like I can’t breath. I feel scared by how much I need to feel your touch.”
His fingers were drawing small circles against my bare back, “If that’s your way of asking for round two, you’re going to have to wait for a little bit. I haven’t come like that since I was a teenager.”
There was a brief moment of silence before I started to laugh. My body shaking from the laughter pouring from my lips. I kissed his chest, “Thank you.”
“You never need to thank me. It’s my honor to make you laugh. Bring your pleasure. Praise you for your beautifulness. More importantly, always holding you close to me.”
I entwined my legs with his as he pulled the sheet over our naked bodies. Just when I thought he was about to fall asleep, I slipped my hand over his soft member then pressed my lips just under his chin.
“Round two?”

The Saga of Backpfeifengesicht
It is August 22nd and the Jaime x Brienne Fic Exchange anonymity is over! And with this, I can finally tell the tale of how I got repeatedly cockblocked fic-blocked by @ajoblotofjunk - because without that sly little minx, I never, ever, would have gotten to write Backpfeifengesicht. The thanks and blame lies almost entirely at her feet.
The following is rather gif-heavy, thanks to some of my favorite shows. Brace yourselves.
You could assume the story starts with this:
It does not.
It really started with this:
And then...
And from there it took off!
It ended up being @slipsthrufingers, @nire-the-mithridatist and @firesign23 who took the helm on the exchange. You’ll notice that I’m not anywhere in these conversations, mostly because I’d never done a fic exchange in my life, let alone run one. The decision to stay a silent supporter in the background was an easy one to make. Surely that way I could stay outside of the chaos and drama that was sure to come.
Little did I know.
The exchange opened and the numbers ticked up. Best estimates were that fifty writers would sign up and the exchange got TWICE that. It was phenomenal, exciting, wonderful - and thus the work began. What prompts would we get, who would we write for, what would we write?
Then, an email:
I knew @brynnmck, or at least of her. Best buds with sdwolfpup aka @ajoblotofjunk, lives in the States and I knew for a fact that she enjoyed my writing in the past. This is going to be a breeze.
(Oh, I was a sweet, naive summer child.)
There were three different prompt options: rock star fic, vacation fic, and an oh-no-only-one-bed fic. I struck the last one out right away because I’d literally just done a Sansaery story utilizing that plot and didn’t want to repeat myself so blatantly. Like so many others, I went to my friends for help with planning, having one conversation in particular with @forbiddenfantasies1 that promptly fell out of my brain.
(Three weeks later…)
The vacation prompt seemed the most inviting and I started to wonder, huh, what if Jaime and Brienne are modern adrenaline junkies and they do extreme vacations, like BASE jumping?
...I know nothing about BASE jumping.
And, what’s more, in the course of that time period, I read a fic by sdwolfpup where she referenced BASE jumping between the two of them. I chuckled to myself and tossed that idea aside. Back to brainstorming!
Inspiration struck! I decided on the vacation prompt - with a twist! I started writing! I turned to my good friend @forbiddenfantasies1 aka FF and said I HAVE SOMETHING YAAAAY:
And I took a second to wonder… wait. Did she tell me this three weeks ago?
Did I...?
...oh no.
Oh, no no no.
I searched our Discord history and...
I stole my friend’s prompt. I STOLE HER PROMPT.
That’s not me throwing a gauntlet, that’s me throwing away my bit of fic in the garbage, where it belonged. THE GALL. THE FAULTY MEMORY THAT LED TO MY WORST ACTION.
FF tried to be gracious about it, though she was in no way at fault. NO WAY. We had a long talk. And then a longer one. And then another where I said ENOUGH! You write yours and I’ll find something different, it’s the right thing to do.
So I turned to the Rock Star Fic. Music. Guitars. Not my bag, but there’s something there. The brainstorming began again. Then, courtesy of @ajoblotofjunk :
Wait, what?
SDWOLFPUP AKA BRYNN’S BESTIE
IS
WRITING
A
MUSIC
AU
Not just anyone. Her best friend. A brilliant, brilliant writer.
There was only one thing I could do.
So there went mine.
(Slips: TWO CAAAAKES!
Sami: HER BEST FRIEEEEEEEND! NO!)
Commence brainstorming, part… whateverthefuck, I don’t even know.
And some more brainstorming. (And the beginning of some A+ dramatics.)
It... was not pretty.
My friends reminded me that it only had to be a thousand words - I could do that, it was highly attainable, I just had to find something. Anything. FF knows Brynn and said that she’s so chill! She’ll enjoy anything, just give it a shot!
I gave it a shot.
The struggle continued. My brain was stuck on the fact that I had been a bad, prompt-thieving friend and then that whatever sdwolfpup already had cooking was surely miles ahead of what I hadn’t been able to piece together. My friends told me to stop being so dramatic. I said:
Finally. An idea came to mind. Something simple, maybe even a single scene. The vacation prompt. Perhaps… Brienne goes on vacation. No one knows her, she doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone, maybe she decides to take a chance on that handsome man at the bar.
Yes, I told my dear @Luthienebonyx. I think that’s what I’m going to do. Brienne meets Jaime in a bar.
ONE HOUR LATER:
ONE.
HOUR.
LATER.
And if you aren’t convinced that karma wasn’t out to get me, may I draw your attention to the acknowledgement in the notes:
J’accuse! FF! @forbiddenfantasies1 !!!!!!
Et tu, FF?
INDEED, CAPTAIN RAYMOND HOLT. INDEED.
I was languishing. Suffering. Bemoaning the very idea that I should even be in the exchange at all!!!
Meanwhile, SDW:
And I am:
I turned to FF, all HOW COULD YOU!
She was understandably confused.
I was back to the drawing board.
There was a serious discussion of handing off my prompts to another writer, trading with someone so that I could get over my writer’s block - or at least stop getting fic-blocked by a certain talented author who was surely in cahoots with my friend-enemy FF.
FF tried to talk some sense into me. And she handed me, as it has come to be known: Brynnformation.
I decided to give it one. last. go.
And I remembered.
Nine months later, the time had come for Backpfeifengesicht.
I held it close to my chest. Very close. So close that I stopped checking tumblr for fear of discovering that sdwolfpup had caught the scent of my story in the air and eclipsed me yet again. When my friends asked how it was going, I was perfectly reasonable, totally chill, very:
I was informed that sdwolfpup had gone on vacation, THANK GOD, I WAS SAFE FOR A WEEK.
After I got past the murderous paranoia, I started to put a story together. Vacations. Road trips. Baseball. And, as it said in the prompts, Brynn enjoys herself some J/B lovin’. FF pointed out that Brynn had a fondness for lovin’ that involves tables.
And with that Friend-Enemy FF became Friend FF once more, as she should always be considered.
All hail Brynnformation!
Yes. It was Backpfeifengesicht’s moment to shine.
(I… stopped checking sdw’s tumblr. For my own sense of self and stability. If she came up with a random german name, I was sure to throw in the towel.)
I wrote and wrote and wrote some more. I refused to let my friends see it for fear of jinxing the whole damn thing. I was nearly halfway through when I had a truly horrible day at work and the only thing that cheered me was to break my silence and share a bit of it with @forbiddenfantasies and @elizadunc - they were new to my whining in ways that Slips, Nire, Luthien and Firesign had grown immune to.
Their response?
Though I was still in a mindset more like:
FF: Sami, stop freaking out.
Sami: I CAN’T.
I looped in the rest of my friends, so they could beta and also convince me not to bin the entire thing all over again. It was the work of SIX PEOPLE to keep me from giving up this whole damn thing.
SIX PEOPLE.
At last, the story was done and I landed somewhere between:
and
Don’t believe me?
I kept my eye out for sdwolfpup. If she was watching, she was being clever about it.
I edited.
My friends and wonderful betas tried to talk me down off the ledge. Repeatedly.
I made myself wait to post anyway, and not without one last freak out.
AND
SHE
DID
But hey, she also said:
Gee... I wonder how that happened?
@forbiddenfantasies1 - you are a filthy liar and the goddamn best <3 This story would not exist without you or sdwolfpup’s fic-blocking ways. My love and my echoing screams of despair to you both.

Despair
Hey hey, guess who’s back and finally had time to write! Happy Twin Tuesday! This one is...current, I’ll say. That’s all I’m going to say.
Summary: 01/06/2021. Rami and Sami can’t believe their eyes. They cope the only way they know how.

---
Sami’s phone was ringing, he could hear it vibrating in his bag from he stood next to his desk, surveying his thirty students, their attention quickly diminishing. He ignored it, even as it rang a second time.
“Alright guys-hey, don’t pack up yet, this is important-reading for tonight is chapter 12, your essays on Slaughterhouse Five are due Friday, so don’t forget.” There were groans heard from around the room, and Sami continued, “and no, I won’t be accepting any late papers; I gave you a month and a half for this. That’s more than generous, get it done.”
There were more groans and Sami smirked inwardly to himself as the bell rang and students began shuffling out the door, with a few calls of “see ya, Mr. Malek!” and Sami smiled. “Yeah, have a good day guys. Nice work today.”
When the last student was out the door, Sami took a moment to himself, glad he now had a free period before his next class. He cleared his throat, and began erasing the notes from the smartboard in preparation for the next round, when his phone vibrated and he remembered someone was trying to reach him, idly wondering what was so important that someone would call him at work.
Skimming his notifications, he frowned. Three texts from Rami, a missed call from him, and two texts from friends which he ignored for the time being, instead reading Rami’s messages:
“I know you’re at work, but you need to see this.” and underneath, in a separate message, a link to a CNN article that read “Rioters break windows and breach US Capitol.”
Sami stared, bewildered, and then read the third message Rami had sent.
“Turn on the news.”
Sami reread the headline, clicking the link Rami had sent, and he skimmed the article, his mind reeling.
“What the fuck...?”
Rami’s response was instant:
“You need to turn on the fucking news. Now.”
Sami wasted no time in rushing to the staff room, thanking his stars he had a break for the next forty minutes. It didn’t surprise him that nearly a quarter of the staff were already there, and he slipped inside, spotting a few of his colleagues from the English department. Even though the second bell had rung, no one in the room bothered to move, their eyes transfixed on the news coverage blaring from the TV. And as Sami turned his gaze to watch too, he felt his stomach sink in dread.
There were a cacophony of murmurs around the room, Sami catching tidbits here and there.
“What are we going to do?”
“There’s nothing we can do right now-”
“No, we can’t just-someone has to explain to the kids-”
“No, they’ll find out soon enough, we keep teaching like normal-”
“This is a high school,” one of Sami’s friends in the history department finally sighed tiredly. “You really think those kids don’t know by now? They have social media and cell phones. They know. And we can go about like usual, but this is something we’re all going to be talking about tomorrow.”
Sami’s eyes drifted back to the television, watching intently as he drowned everyone else out. They were inside the building now, hoards of them, a never ending sight. Sami watched with wide, disbelieving eyes, horrified as people scaled the building walls, smashed through windows, and he couldn’t help but think frantically: why wasn’t anyone doing anything?
He snorted to himself. Right. You know why.
He didn’t think he’d be able to go back to work after this. Slowly, one by one, his colleagues filtered out as most of them had classes to attend to that period and couldn’t push being late anymore. Once he was alone, Sami sank into one of the chairs, eyes glued to the newscast, feeling frozen from what he seeing.
He felt sick.
He texted Rami back and forth, a steady stream of furious conversation, not even realizing when the bell rang. Scrambling out of his seat, he rushed back to his room, just in time for when kids started filing in.
“Hi guys,” he pasted a smile on his face. “Settle down, and we’ll get started.”
He taught on autopilot, the forty minutes going by without him realizing, and before he knew it, kids were standing up and he was calling out the same thing from before: “read chapter twelve tonight, your essays are due Friday...”
Whatever previous intentions Sami had about sticking around the rest of the school day to get his work done, he threw right out the window. Racing home, he dug through his fridge for a beer, and then after better judgement, grabbed another, before he turned his TV on and called Rami.
Sami didn’t even let him say hi. “Are you safe?”
“Yeah,” Rami nodded. He was moving through his apartment, Sami could see, presumably to get to a quieter spot, and his gaze was off to the side, watching something. “I’m fine. Nothing here has happened yet, thankfully.”
“Listen,” Sami said urgently. “Stay inside okay? Don’t go out today if you don’t have to. You don’t-no one knows what will happen. Please.”
“I’m not moving,” Rami said. “I can’t-fucking after this, I can’t concentrate. I’m supposed to be rehearsing lines for tomorrow but fuck that. This is insane.”
Sami watched as the mob of people made their way inside the Rotunda, and he sank onto the couch. Then a few minutes later, they were inside the Senate chamber, pushing things around, and when he changed the channel to find another possible view, there was a photo up of a man carrying a confederate flag.
“Oh my fucking god.”
Rami’s voice was low. “I know. It gets worse.”
“Oh no, don’t say that.”
“They-they took down the American flag,” Rami said with barely restrained rage. “And replaced it. With a fucking Trump flag.”
Sami choked. “You’re not serious.”
“I wish I weren’t. And our president,” Rami scoffed. “is encouraging it. Fucking-” he stopped short, thinking for a moment on whether or not to complete what he wanted to say, before he shook his head in exasperation. “It’s all so exhausting.”
“That’s unconstitutional,” Sami murmured, flipping channels again, and he dropped his beer when he saw the constructed noose on the other side of the Capitol, staining the carpet, but he didn’t care. “Who is that for?! What the fuck!”
“What? What am I missing?”
Sami didn’t answer, still rooted on the spot, watching as officers finally brought out tear gas. “Fuck...is there any update on the Senators?”
“Not that I can tell. Though they are saying a few Republican ones are agreeing with this bullshit.”
Suddenly everything clicked, and Sami realized why today, of all days, this was happening. As he watched the coverage of Trump’s tweet, the rally earlier that morning, he idly wondered how much damage had already been caused, and whatever else he’d missed.
“I’m not drunk enough for this,” he sighed, and Rami chuckled flatly.
“I’ve had a bottle of wine open for the last hour. Wish you were here to join me.”
“Well,” Sami stood up, grimacing at the mess he’d made from the spilled beer. “I can join you from afar. What are you drinking?” Rami gave him the name of a Cabernet they were both fond of, and Sami grinned triumphantly when he found a spare bottle in the back of his wine cooler. Propping his phone up on the counter against the block of chopping knives, he made quick work in opening and pouring himself a generous glass. “Cheers, man.”
“Cheers. What are we cheers-ing to?”
Sami hummed, licking the bit of wine that had dripped down his finger. “To the compete and utter fuckery that has been...the six days of this new year.”
“That works,” Rami was silent for a moment, both of them lost in their thoughts, watching the news again. “You know, I...obviously after the last four years there’s been a lot of unrest and contempt. But to this extent, for thousands of people to..to believe-”
“Say an election is rigged and then stop the process in almost every way they can?” Sami took a generous sip of his wine. “To destroy the Capitol? Yeah. I know.”
“Unbelievable,” Rami said succinctly, and after a moment: “I should’ve stayed in London.”
“They’re not much better,” Sami snickered, glancing at his twin. “Besides, London doesn’t have me.”
Rami laughed. “You think I plan my life around you?”
“What, you mean you don’t? I’m shocked. That hurts.”
“Definitely not,” Rami smirked and Sami laughed.
“Alright hot shot, don’t let that hair gel go to your brain too. There’s enough on your head already.”
“Oh, fuck you,” Rami was grinning, and Sami grinned back.
“Just trying to keep you humble, you know. I don’t give a shit if you have a shiny gold toy now.”
“Wow,” Rami muttered. “You wish your hair looked as good.”
“A greasy mess? Yeah, no thanks.”
Rami laughed again, and Sami grinned, pleased at the fact, sipping his wine again as they turned back to the news. “Fuck, it really is a shit show isn’t it?”
“I’ve always said he would leave the White House, but he’ll burn it down with him as he goes.”
“Yeah,” Sami sighed, his anger boiling all over again. “Looks like it. I wish you were wrong.”
“Me too.”
Glancing at the clock, he saw it had been a hour since he’d gotten home, which meant it was around 4pm on the east coast. Tuning back to the coverage, the mob outside the Capitol had grown, more people were scaling the wall to get inside, and Sami couldn’t help but think how all too easy it was for them.
“So uh...where’s the tear gas? The rubber bullets? The arrests?”
Rami snorted. “You’re fucking kidding, right? C’mon. Like that applies to them.”
Sami snorted too, and then laughed weakly, which turned into a laughing fit, and he could hear Rami calling his name. “Sorry...it’s just...fuck all of them.”
Rami raised his glass in a toast before he downed it in one go, pouring another serving. “Amen.”
“God, how am I supposed to explain this to my kids? You’re telling me I have to go to work tomorrow after this?”
“Same here,” Rami said. He was moving again, and Sami could see he was back in the kitchen too, digging through his refrigerator. He produced a bunch of grapes, a platter of salami, and a block of cheddar cheese, and Sami watched as he began to assemble an antipasti platter for one. “I don’t want to head to work. Seems pointless, after this.”
Sami bit his lip thoughtfully. “It’s not...useless. Use it. You’re angry-”
“Angry? No, I’m well passed pissed off at this point.”
“There you go. Use it, use that rage towards your scenes and whatever your character is. It’s...” Sami shrugged meekly at Rami, who was watching him intently. “It’s the only thing we can do at times like this, right?”
“I suppose,” Rami muttered, a tired expression on his face, and popped a grape into his mouth. He turned around, opening the fridge again and came back holding some hummus and olives in his hand. “I imagine it’ll be the only thing anyone will talking about for the next week. Rightfully so.” He opened the olives, laying a few of them out next to the salami, and stuck the jar back into the fridge.
Sami was bemused. “How much are you eating?”
“As much as it takes to get through this shit show. I’m supposed to be on a diet right now, but I don’t give a shit. If I’m going to wine and dine watching this, I might as well do it properly.”
“Now I really wish I were there.”
“Yeah, me too. It would make it more bearable. But...this will do for now.”
Sami went silent, watching the TV again, which was now reporting about gunshots and a woman wounded. “Jesus Christ.”
Rami was muttering under his breath. “Shit, shit, shit, shit-”
They didn’t speak after that, both of them too lost in watching the news coverage, and Sami gripped his glass tightly as took a breath in to ease his anxiety.
Swallowing, he poured another glass, knowing he wouldn’t be finishing the bottle, and instead capped it and placed it in the fridge for tomorrow. It was an odd feeling, one that “scared” wouldn’t be able to cover. It was a looming, threatening feeling; something like this was so deeply entrenched in the fabric of the country. It wasn’t something that would go away on January 20th, as much as he wished for that. He wasn’t surprised that people had so much hatred for anyone other than themselves were coming out of the woodwork, blindly following what their commander in chief told them. The repercussions of this day would be something that would take a long time to repair.
“I’m tired,” he said suddenly. Rami’s voice was quiet, and though Sami didn’t elaborate, Rami seemed to understand what he meant perfectly.
“I know. So am I.”
---
When the crowds eventually thinned out, and Sami went back to work the next morning, he read the highlights of things he’d missed, flipping through the photos of the wreckage before the first period bell rang. When students trickled in, he was met with a sea of somber faces, and he knew he wouldn’t be teaching his regular lesson plans for the day. He felt enraged all over again.
Instead, he hopped up onto his desk, sitting cross legged and observing his students. “Alright. I would be...a very poor educator if I didn’t bring up what happened yesterday to all of you. And I know you’ll hear about it later in the day, I’m sure, but what we do here as teachers affects you guys for the rest of your lives. Now I don’t really care if you can’t tell me the imagery themes in The Great Gatsby, but I do care if you can’t think for yourselves. You’ll be reading and hearing a lot different things in the next coming weeks from people who think they’re right. And you’re all old enough, in my opinion, to have your own opinions on this. That being said, we all know what the banned book list is, correct?”
There were students nodding, and Sami nodded too, and he hopped off the desk to pull said list up. “Good. Pick a book from here, read it. There’s a reason all these books are banned from certain school curriculum, and I want you guys to pick one, and tell me why. It’s January. For every book you manage to get through from now till June, if you give me a one page analysis on your thoughts, I’ll give you extra credit that counts towards your final.” His students perked up at that, and he smiled inwardly. “Five points for every book, sound good?” There were murmurs of approval, and Sami continued, “it’s not mandatory, so don’t feel pressured to this. But I would...appreciate it if you did.”
“What if we read them all?” Someone asked.
There was always one.
Sami’s lips quirked up in amusement. “Good luck. You’ll notice there’s plenty of books on there we’ve read already.”
His students started chattering excitedly, and Sami cleared his throat, glancing at his copy of The Color of Water, which is what they were studying now. They would be finishing that tomorrow, the test for it was Monday, something which Sami had to make over the weekend. He hadn’t decided what to teach next, his gaze drifting to the copies of To Kill A Mockingbird in the back of the classroom, which was what he was planning to start Monday, after the kids took their test.
He debated on it, and then Rami’s words came back to him from the night before.
“He’ll leave the White House, but he’ll burn it down with him as he goes.”
He cleared his throat. “Guys, we’re just going to finish reading for the rest of the period, and we’ll go over the whole book for tomorrow before your test. So if you’ve got your books, take ‘em out.”
Later, once his classes were over for the day, he headed to the library, intent on finding Maria and asking for his next lesson plans.
“Hey Sami,” she greeted. “Back again? How’d they fare with Color of Water?”
“Not bad,” Sami said. “We’re finishing it up, test is Monday.”
“So, you’re here for Mockingbird?”
“No I’ve got Mockingbird,” he murmured, scanning the bookshelves. “That was what I was going to go with originally, but I’ve had a change of heart. Do you know if any of the faculty is teaching Orwell at the moment?”
“The freshmen, some of them are doing Animal Farm. But none of the AP classes right now. Which one?”
Sami spotted what he was looking for, and based on the piles of books they had, no one else had taught it yet, or he was late to the game.
“1984.”

Concussion
I’m going through the Wayback Machine and bringing over some fics that I wrote when I was imaginingwwesuperstars!! Well, at least what they have archived…and has been edited since the original post. Down to the last of them! I hope you enjoy!
Masterlist
You were in the middle of your match with Bayley when you had landed wrong. She went for a german suplex and you landed directly on the back of your head.
You remembered flying through the air and then it went black for a moment. That was all you could remember about it. When you opened your eyes, you had already been loaded onto the gurney. You heard the crowd clapping for you and chanting your name as a way of showing their support.
“Hey, hey, hey.” You heard the voice of your boyfriend, Sami Zayn, call out as you were being wheeled towards the ambulance. “Is she okay?” He asked one of the medical personnel.
“She wasn’t responding in the ring, so we believe she may have a concussion. We need to take her to the hospital and get some tests.” One of the WWE EMT’s had replied.
“Alright, I’m coming with you.”
“No.” You called out to him, slightly weakly as you still felt a little lightheaded. They stopped moving the gurney so you can talk to Sami for a moment.
“I’m not leaving you to go through this alone.” Sami told you, grabbing onto you hand.
“You have a match, Sami. Go. I’ll be okay for an hour or so.” You slurred.
“Y/N–”
“I’m fine, Sami. Just go. I’ll see you when you’re done.”
Sami clenched his jaw before he sighed. He nodded and lifted your hand to his lips, kissing you knuckles gently before letting you go. He watched as they loaded you into the ambulance and remained in place until you were driven out of sight. He took off his hat and ran a hand through his hair in frustration before putting it back on. He sighed once more as he headed towards the gorilla, grateful that he was going out there second. He needed that extra time to get back to his usual self for the fans.
You sat in your hospital bed, flipping through the channels in boredom. You had a killer headache and were still waiting for the aspirin the nurse gave you to kick in.
=================================
It was confirmed that you had a concussion.
Great.
You sighed as you turned off the TV. You pinched the bridge of your nose, praying to whomever was out there that this headache would at least lighten up.
“Hey.” A voice gently called out to you.
You looked over to see Bayley and Sasha walk into the room with what looked to be your bag of clothes.
“Hey.” You replied, small smile on your face. You couldn’t even begin to describe how happy you were to see your friends. It was so boring without them while you waited for everything.
“How are you feeling?” Sasha asked.
“I’ll be better once this headache dies down.” You replied. “But thanks for asking. I’ll be alright.” You offered her a smile.
“Hey, Y/N, I’m so sorry–” Bayley started.
“Stop. Don’t apologize, Bay. It was an accident. It wasn’t your fault.”
“But you wouldn’t be here if I had decided on another move or–”
“Shush.” You interrupted once more. “Everything happens for a reason, right? Maybe this was the universe’s way of telling me that it’s time for a break. I’m fine, girl. Really. It was an accident. All of us get in that ring knowing things like this can happen. But we still do it. Besides, you gave me a hell of a match out there. I’d say like, top 2 of my favorite matches I’ve ever wrestled in.”
Bayley couldn’t but smile at you.
“I’m glad you’re okay.”
You grabbed her hand gently and patted it to comfort her as you smiled at her.
“By the way, thanks for bringing my stuff.”
“Oh of course. We left Sami a note telling him that we were coming to see you and that we’d bring your stuff so he can just finish up and get here.” Sasha replied, taking a seat near your bed.
“How is he?”
“He took it pretty hard. He was pretty upset.”
“I expected that. He was about to bail on and I didn’t want him getting into any trouble, you know?”
“Speak of the devil.” Bayley said, looking at her phone. “He’s here. He’s on his way up.”
As if on cue, Sami walked into the doorway, pausing and taking the hat off his head.
“We’ll give you guys a few minutes.” Sasha said, her and Bayley excusing themselves.
Sami went over to you and immediately pulled you into his arms.
“God, I was so scared.” Sami whispered, tilting his head to kiss the side of your temple. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m okay.” You assured him, gently rubbing his back. “Did you win?”
Sami laughed as he pulled away from you. You scoot over and patted the spot next to you. Sami sat in the empty spot and put his arm around you.
“You’re in the hospital and you wanna know if I won?” He asked with amusement.
“Yeah. It would be nice to know.”
“I did. Barely, but I did.”
“Barely? Why barely?”
“Well, there was this girl I really love who got hurt. Couldn’t stop thinking about it.”
“Is this girl nice?”
“Oh yes, very nice. Pretty geeky, really easy and fun to talk to…beautiful, ugh. So beautiful.”
“Hmm, I think I have to meet this girl sometime.”
“You definitely do.”
You and Sami exchanged a small laugh as you rested your head on his shoulder.
“What’d the doctor say?” Sami asked as you two relaxed in the momentary silence.
“Concussion. Said it could’ve been much worse.”
“It could’ve. We can live with a concussion. I’d rather you not have a brain injury, but considering the alternatives, it is what it is.”
You two sat in the silence comfortably.
“Hi, Miss Y/L/N, I have your discharge papers.” The nurse, Diana, said as she came in. “You must be Sami,” She asked him with a smile.
“I am.” He replied, offering his hand to shake.
“Diana.” She shook his hand. “She told me a lot about you. We needed to keep her alert and all she did was talk about you.
“Good things I hope.”
“Some. The rest happened to be about your worst qualities.” She replied straight faced.
“Really?” Sami asked you in surprise.
“I’m just kidding, it was all good.” Sami couldn’t help the laugh that left him. She was good. “So, the after care is very simple. Are you familiar with concussions?”
“Yeah, a bit.”
“Okay. Then just make sure to wake her up every couple of hours to make sure she’s okay. If her headache worsens, she gets dizzy or she starts vomiting, anything that might make you worry, bring her back here or call 911. If she needs anything for the pain, give her Tylenol. It’s all there in the papers but I thought I’d give you the whole spiel anyway.”
“Great.” Sami said as he looked at the discharge papers for a moment. “Thank you so much.”
“No problem. Y/N, I hope you feel better soon, honey.”
“Thank you, Diana. Have a good night.”
“You too, thanks guys.” She smiled at the two of you before leaving the room.
You stood up and headed over towards your bag. Sami quickly got up and took the bag away from you and placed it on the bed.
“I got this.” Sami said as he unzipped your bag and opened it.
“I can do it, you know.” You told him with a small smile as you grabbed some clothes.
“Eh, I know. But I just want you to take it easy.”
“You’re too good to me.” You placed a kiss to his lips before closing the curtain to change.
“You wanna grab something to eat on the way back to the hotel?”
“Sure, sounds good, I’m starving.”
“And we’ll watch some Netflix. They have the most recent season of SVU on…we need to catch up.”
You opened the curtain, fully dressed.
“That sounds amazing. But we haven’t even finished the last season…I think we have 2 more episodes.”
“Then we’re finishing it tonight.” Sami leaned down and kissed you. “Let’s get you fed and to sleep.”
You smiled at him before he went over to your bag and zipped it up. He placed it on the ground and pulled out the handle to roll it behind you. With his free hand, he laced his fingers together with yours.
As you walked down the hallway of the hospital, you knew that you had hit the jackpot with Sami Zayn. You may have a concussion, but you had never felt better in your life than when you’re with him.

Twin-Swap: “The Twins Talk”
Day 1: “Rami Wakes Up in LA; Sami Wakes Up in Miami”
Warnings: Wee bit o’ angst
* * * * *
Rami was silent, and so was Sami.
“I don’t even know—”
“What the hell happ—”
The twins began at the same time, both of them sighing with frustration before Sami cleared his throat and asked, “What’s the last thing you remember . . . remember as you inside of you?”
Rami thought for minute, his fingers reaching up and scratching at his chin, the whiskers of Sami’s beard so foreign that he lost his train of thought and had to restart.
“Well, uh . . . I was drinking a beer. Some place not far from the hotel. Gwil and Joe were at the bar, talking,” Rami paused, thinking hard to piece together his final memories in his own body.
“It’s—it gets weird. Like I was blackout drunk but I know I didn’t drink that much. I’m working, Sami. I would never—”
“I know. I know how serious this is for you.”
“What do you remember?”
It was Sami’s turn to pause, and as he thought, he remembered that right now he was naked. He sat down on the hotel bed with a tired sigh and pulled a pillow over his lap. He leaned forward as he cradled the phone next to his head, a well-manicured nail finding its way between his teeth.
“Stop chewing on my nails,” Rami interrupted, his agitation a welcome, small piece of normality during this fucked up situation.
“Shit—sorry.”
“Anything? Do you remember anything?” Rami pressed.
Sami closed his eyes as yesterday swam through his mind—a normal, albeit tiring Thursday with his freshman. He remembered making it back to the house, maybe around 5:30 or 6:00 pm.
“I remember coming home from school. I, uh . . . I got a beer from the fridge. Went into the living room and turned the TV on. Damnit! It’s just like you said—like trying to pry into a memory after you’ve gotten too drunk.”
The harder Rami thought, the more his head began to pound—a headache so deep in his brain that the pain felt both within and without, like he was looking out of a window only to see himself looking out of another window, then another, and another.
“My head hurts,” Sami confessed, and Rami concurred. The twins were used to knowing what the other was thinking or feeling before they said it, not because of some indefinable, mystical connection but because they shared everything; before their birth, they were more one soul than two. It was only in their early adulthood that they began to separate, to realize that solace could be found individually.
They thought they didn’t need each other as they once had, and in fact, while Rami was filming Bohemian Rhapsody in London, it was the longest physical separation they had undergone. Even while they were at college on opposite ends of the country, every few months, one of the twins would visit the other, unable (or unwilling) to go any longer without seeing the other.
Neither of the twins had enjoyed being apart for so long, but neither was willing to offer up the confession they both already knew—they were far too stubborn, a trait they carried down from their father.
“That’s weird, isn’t it? To have the same headache?”
Rami laughed at his brother’s use of “weird” considering the current situation.
After a moment, Sami softly laughed, too. “This obviously isn’t a dream right?”
“I mean, I didn’t slap myself or anything, but no. This isn’t a dream.”
“I did.”
“Don’t slap me!” Rami guffawed, once again agitated at the lack of care Sami was showing his body. He needed to be pristine—it was his job to look good.
“Big thanks for sleeping naked by the way.”
“Sometimes sleep-trousers—”
“Pants, Rami. You’re a fucking American.”
“Pants are underwear in—”
“You! Are! American!”
“Stop yelling at me!”
“What else am I supposed to be doing?” Sami yelled, his cool completely lost. “I’m in a hotel room in Miami. I need to be at school—shit! What time is it there?”
“It’s uh, 7:26.”
“Oh my god,” Sami moaned. “You have to throw on whatever you can and get to school. You’ll be a little late, but I’ll have Melissa cover my room until you—until I—get there.”
“Have you LOST your fucking mind? I can’t teach! I don’t know your students!”
“Do you have any idea what it’s like to get a sub on a Friday? You have to put your day in weeks in advance—no sub, guess who covers? Your colleagues. And it’s not like the kids can just skip English and fuck around somewhere else for an hour.”
“I can not do this, Sami. I think the fact that we are in each other’s bodies—”
“Please Rami. Please! Tomorrow is Saturday—”
Rami felt a twinge of pain as Sami begged. His brother never, ever asked for anything. But that pain was quickly overrun by panic as Rami remembered, “I have to be on a plane this afternoon!”
“What?”
“We leave for Dallas. And as soon as I land, we have an interview. Oh fuck me. What the fuck am I gonna—”
“Just. Let’s think about this. We have to think.”
“I can’t mess this up, Sami. I can’t mess this up.”
“And neither can I! Honestly, I think you think your job is more important than mine sometimes.”
“It’s a little more fucking public!”
“Just—stop. We can’t do this now. You need to get dressed and get in the car. Call me when you’re on your way to school.”
Rami was silent longer than Sami would have liked but he knew his twin heard him.
“I’ll call you from the car.”
“Thank you.”
“Sami?”
“Huh?”
“We’re gonna fix this, right? Whatever this is, we’re gonna fix it?”
Sami’s eyes were suddenly blurry because of the uncertainty in his brother’s tone. He took a deep, silent breath and willed his voice to be strong, to be sure.
“Yes. We will fix this.”
“Call you from the car,” Rami answered, then the line went dead.
Sami flopped back onto the bed, the pillow that had been covering his naked lap falling to the floor. He shoved his hands in his hair, wondering for a moment what the hell they put in his twin’s hair to make it so soft, then he brought his brother’s perfectly manicured index finger to his lips, hesitated, then started chewing at the edge of the nail as he pleaded with his brain to remember something, anything.
But as the throbbing in Sami’s head became overwhelming, he gave up, thinking instead of how the fuck he and Rami were going to fix this.

______
Amelina had fully expected the house to be empty when she walked in. Four in the afternoon on a Thursday meant her parents were both still at work, and if she remembered correctly, Luis would still be in his last period history class that he raved about every time he called. All of this in mind, she found it completely fair that she screamed bloody murder when all six feet and two inches of white man greeted her with a tackle from behind and a shout of her name.
“Shawn, you absolute ass, what are you doing?” she questioned with a glare when he laughed with his whole body.
“Waiting for you to get home?” he said as if it should be obvious why he was in her house alone when his own home was right next door. “Rosalia said you were coming home today and that I was welcome to wait on you. So I did. I missed you.”
Amelina finally caught her breath and relaxed into his tackle, letting it become a hug. His grip loosened when he dropped his head beside hers and spoke — a little softer that time with his voice muffled in her shoulder.
“Seven months was too long, Lina.”
She squeezed his arm.
“I know.”
______
“Oh my god, and did I even tell you Liyah has a boyfriend now too?”
The incredulous look on Shawn’s face and the way he dramatically dropped the butter knife and bun he had been holding made Lina snort before casting her mother a knowing glance. Lina and Shawn had spent some time at the dining table catching up on their semester apart before her mother arrived shortly after her. After properly welcoming her daughter home, Rosalia asked them to make themselves useful and get started on dinner.
“Does she now?” Lina said, doing her best to seem oblivious as she tossed the veggies in the pan.
“Yeah! I’m gone for half a semester and I come back and she’s all curled up with this Rohail kid on our couch!”
“Rohail? That’s one of Luis’s friends. Nice boy,” Rosalia said.
“I don’t care if he’s a nice boy, she’s fifteen. Why does she even—”
“Lina, have you booked your flight yet?”
Shawn’s tantrum was cut short when Lina’s father called out to her from just outside the kitchen. He had arrived a bit after her mother and made a beeline for his bathroom after giving his daughter a hug. Fully refreshed and having changed out of his work suit and into his favorite cargo shorts, he walked in with his head down, phone in hand.
Lina could feel Shawn’s eyes boring into her back.
“Uh no– no, I haven’t.”
“Your flight?”
The two spoke at the same time, her voice suddenly nervous and his almost concerned. She didn’t take her eyes off of the sautéing onions and peppers.
“Yeah. LAX. I have an interview.”
Her voice stayed steady, but she let herself sneak a peek over her shoulder. Confusion was clear on Shawn’s face, but the slight tilt to his lip suggested hurt.
“Interview?” was all he managed to stutter out.
“My little Lina is in the final round of interviews for a very prestigious internship,” her father announced, pocketing his phone and crossing the kitchen to kiss her head with a massive grin. He really couldn’t be prouder, but in that moment, Lina found herself almost wishing he cared just a little less. Or at least was quieter about it.
“Oh shit,” Shawn said, his voice much softer than it was mere minutes before when he was talking about his sister. “Congrats, Lina. That’s real big.”
“Thanks,” she said quietly.
Sensing the tension, her mother cleared her throat and gestured to the window that faced the street.
“Looks like your parents are back, mijo. Amelina, why don’t you go say hello and invite them over? You dad can finish up here.”
Rosalia took the spatula and pan from her daughter and shoved them towards her confused husband. Lina nodded, thankful for her mother. She kissed her father’s cheek as a quick way of saying don’t worry, you’re only kind of in trouble before she gestured to the door at Shawn.
“So LA, huh?”
He fought to keep his voice even, walking casually with his hands in his pockets and kicking at rocks as they crossed the street to his house.
“Yeah. Yeah, LA.”
“So would you like… leave UC?”
“Nah, it’s just a one-semester co-op kinda thing. I’d be in LA for the spring taking online classes and working full time, then I go back next fall.”
“Oh okay.”
“Lina!”
Before the front door of the Mendes house was full open, Aaliyah barreled towards Lina.
“I missed you. Don’t leave me again for that long, damn.”
“Missed you too, hun,” Lina responded, finally letting go of Shawn’s little sister. “How is my favorite girl doing? How’d your one-month go?”
“It was so cute, Lina, oh my god. We went to the drive-in and—”
“You what?!” Shawn broke his silence, quickly moving from where he had been watching from the door. The smile he wore watching the reunion fell immediately and was replaced with a scowl. “And you!” he whipped his head towards his best friend. “You knew!”
Lina shrugged. Shawn huffed.
“No respect in this damn house.”
He brushed past his mom, quickly kissing her head before stalking off to the bathroom. Karen threw Aaliyah an inquisitive look as she entered the living room before rolling her eyes at her son’s dramatics. Finally, she made it to Amelina and enveloped her in a hug.
“Welcome home, love.”
______
Evening found the Mendes clan spread out through the Moreno’s living room in a post-dinner laze. Lina’s parents were in deep conversation with Manny while Karen, Lina, and Shawn grilled Aaliyah about her new relationship, but Lina’s attention was admittedly elsewhere. From where she was sitting, her entire left side pressed against Shawn’s right, she could feel his other leg shaking and his fingers picking at a thread in her jeans – an old habit of his that she had grown used to when they were younger but which felt oddly foreign after months apart. Like hers, his attention seemed split as he was only barely participating in the conversation he was so passionate about just hours earlier. While Aaliyah gave a dramatic retelling of her adorably disastrous first date, Lina turned to Shawn.
“You okay?”
As if the string suddenly stung, his movements froze, and he jerked his hand away. He mashed his lips the way he did when he was deciding whether or not to tell the truth.
“Can we— can we go outside for a bit?”
Lina nodded with some concerned hesitation, following as he stood and pulled her with him. No one seemed to notice or care as they made their way out onto the patio swing where he pulled them both down with a huff. They sat quietly, pushing off against the fire pit in front of them to make the seat swing. Amidst the silence, it was like the words had been punched out of him when Shawn finally spoke.
“Why didn’t you tell me about LA?”
“It’s not a sure thing yet,” Lina mumbled. “I didn’t want to cause a fuss.”
“That’s the shit we’re supposed to talk about though! The not-sure-yet things. The ‘maybe’s and the ‘hopefully’s and the ‘I don’t know’s. I mean, fuck, since when do you avoid causing a fuss with me? Since when am I the last to find out?”
Shawn had sprung out of his seat and was pacing in front of her. Everything he hadn’t said since they were in the kitchen together that afternoon came pouring out between short huffing breaths, and Lina didn’t know what to do except sit still and quiet and listen as her best friend told her everything she already knew.
“I had to find out about Andy through my mom. I had no idea you broke up with her until two weeks later, and by then, I felt like an idiot even asking about it.”
“Shawn, I’m sorry.”
“And we said we’d never go longer than three months. We just doubled that and—”
“I know, and I’m really sorry that I couldn’t—”
“I don’t want you to apologize, Lina, goddammit. I get it. Life happens. I just…” His voice caught in his throat. With a sigh, he fell back into the seat beside her with his eyes closed. His voice was softer when he spoke again.
“I feel like I’m losing my best friend.”
As much as she wanted to reassure him, to flick him on the forehead and ask are you stupid?! she knew he was right. She had felt it too, and she didn’t have the will to lie to him and say that she didn’t.
“It’s not…” she paused, gathering her thoughts. “You aren’t losing me. We’ve just drifted, I guess.”
“That’s almost worse. That’s what adults say.”
“I guess that makes us adults now.”
“I don’t wanna drift, though, Lina,” Shawn admitted in a small voice as her reached for her hand. She let him have it on instinct, and he relaxed just a bit.
A moment of thought spent tracing her thumb over his swallow tattoo bred an idea, and the grin that overtook her face had Shawn confused and a little scared.
“Then we won’t.”
______
“Are you sure you wouldn’t rather just fly, mija?”
“I’m sure. This will be so much better,” Lina told her dad, beaming as she pulled on the straps of her backpack.
“Ready?” Shawn called out to her as he approached from across the street with his own backpack slung over one shoulder.
Between them was the large white van that would be their home for the next several days. Packed with luggage and pillows and blankets to last them until California and painted with phrases like “ROUTE 66 BABY!” and “SUMMER BREAK 2K19” courtesy of Aaliyah and Luis, it was truly an eyesore. And Lina absolutely loved the sight of it.
“Ready!”

FFT: dark as night; jon moxley
Notes:
This one.. this was sent to my main by @rampagewriting and I enjoyed writing every second of it. It fits into the roommates version of events that I had planned out for Mox and Jane, so I kinda rolled with it.
Summary:
Jane is stuck at home in bad weather. A drunk Mox arrives home early. Misunderstandings are had and things are revealed.
Pairing:
Jon Moxley x OFC, Jane - from my various universes with these two in them.
Warning:
alcohol tw, fluff, mentions of a storm, suspense.
The thunder had her jumping and a split second away from shrieking. Jane had never particularly liked storms. And this one had been brewing for hours now, getting nastier and nastier with each one that passed.
She found herself eyeing the time on the microwave and then almost reaching for her cell phone.. Mox was 2 hours away, doing a show at some little armory tonight. He’d be driving back in the worst of the shit -more than likely drunk off his ass, and that worried her.
← Be careful on your way back. This storm is getting worse by the minute.
←(Draft) I know it’s not my business but like.. I’d really appreciate it if you didn’t drink an entire bar like you usually do if you wind up having to drive back tonight.. Again, not my business I just… I don’t want anything to happen to you..
She eyed the text in the box and sighed, erasing everything but the part where she told him to be careful on his way back. Any more than that and if he was in a mood, he’d probably think she was bitching at him or something and she really didn’t have a cause or claim to even say anything.
Sure, they were old friends, but they were only just reconnecting and slowly starting to get a little bit close again like they used to be as kids… She wasn’t his girlfriend or family, so she had no right to suggest or ask him not to do something.
She hesitated for a good five seconds over even sending one of the texts. Would he feel like she was nagging or invading his personal space? She didn’t want to come off that way.
Sending only the first text she’d written, Jane put her phone down on the counter, and almost immediately, thunder struck hard enough that the floor beneath her feet rattled. “Damn it.”
She’d always hated storms. She hated them even worse now if she were to be perfectly honest with herself. Especially tonight, this storm.
Knowing Mox was out in this tonight had her just a shade more tense than she’d normally be. Knowing he’d probably drink while driving back in this tonight did not help at all. Taking a few deep breaths, Jane worked on settling herself down.
Mox’s actions were out of her control; even if sometimes the shit he did worried her and made her want to tell him to knock it the fuck off because every time something happened to him it scared her a little bit. He was who he was and she loved him exactly the way he was.
The thought was a sobering one and it was enough to stop her mid rummage through the pantry for something quick to eat for herself.
“Fuck.. I’m in love with him..”
The lights flickered a little and Jane’s breath caught for a split second. When she banged her side into the counter in their cramped kitchen, she swore and winced, lifting her shirt to look down at her side.
“Yep, that’s probably gonna leave a mark.”
X
“Hey Mox, your fucking phone is going batshit. Take it.” almost as soon as Mox walked through the hallway and stepped into the little room that the other wrestlers were milling around in, waiting to go out for their matches, one of the valets shoved his phone at him and Mox stared at it a few seconds, caught up in the picture he’d chosen for his wallpaper.
It was a picture of Jane, an old friend and currently, his room mate. … and idiot, ya fallin for her all over again… his brain reminded him.
He unlocked the phone and saw that she’d texted him. Glancing around to make sure no one saw him and got nosy as all fuck, Mox texted her back.
→Be careful on your way back. This storm is getting worse by the minute.
She’d sent the text about thirty minutes ago, during his first match of the night. He felt bad about leaving it on read, so after a second or two, he answered back.
← I make no promises. Stay put tonight, yeah?
Rather than send it straight away, he spent a minute or two agonizing over and changing the text countless times, finally re entering the first thing he’d thought to type. It was safe. Safer than what he considered putting, which was something along the lines of telling her if it got too bad she could call him.. That he’d actually like it if she did.
Because only a boyfriend got that right and the way Mox saw it, he might not ever be a good enough candidate to call himself that where Jane was concerned.
“Hey man, you wanna grab a few drinks before we head back?”
“Nah. I think I’m just gonna go back, Callihan.” Mox’s turning down drinks prompted Sami to study his friend with a curious gleam in his eyes as he rubbed his chin.
He burst into laughter as soon as he really thought about it and realized exactly why Mox was turning down drinks and clapping his hand down upon Mox’s injured shoulder -which prompted Mox to swear for about a minute and a through gritted teeth, he told Mox, “Finally. I thought I wasn’t ever gonna see th’ day Jon Moxley met a girl capable of tamin his wild ass.. Is it that cute little teacher ya got livin at your place now? Jane, that’s her name, right?”
“Shut the fuck up, Callihan, it ain’t like that. Just tired, damn.”
“And grumpy. That definitely tells me it’s exactly like that by the way.” Sami was having a field day with it and when Mox shoved the keys at him, he took them and went quiet.
He could tell it already had the bastard up in arms enough already. No sense in making Mox mean for the duration of the two hour drive they had ahead of them. “I’m gonna stop for a case.”
“Whatever man, I’m just fuckin ready to go.”
X
The storm raged on outside and Jane realized that her relaxing soak in the tub was not an option. She’d just stepped out of the tub and wrapped a towel around herself when the whole apartment went pitch black.
“Fuck my life.”
Jane had never liked the dark, not at all.
Rather than get dressed, Jane stumbled around the little apartment in the dark digging around for candles, flashlights, anything to help get just a little light into the place.
Naturally, Mox was not the kind of guy who kept candles.
Or flashlights, apparently.
“I am.. Buying that man a Mag Lite, I swear to God.” Jane managed to bang her shin into the couch and she was in the midst of hopping around on one foot after stubbing her toe a second time when she heard the door knob to their apartment rattling.
She swallowed hard, glancing in it’s general direction.
… i swear to God, it better not be someone breaking in… only my luck…
Her phone was almost dead and she’d left it in the bathroom, sitting on the counter. If she started using it for a flashlight, she wouldn’t have any battery left if say Mox wound up in a bar fight or an accident or something else of that nature.
… you don’t even know he’d call you anyway…
… but still, if something happens, you’d want to know.. Better to save the battery and put on those big girl panties than to run the damn phone down using it as a flashlight…
The doorknob was still rattling and Jane didn’t think, she just stepped into the hallway leading back to the bedrooms and bathroom, flattening herself against the wall, her hand finding the handle of a bat Mox kept lying around.
Just as the door burst open and whoever had been swearing under their breath outside in the hall stepped in, lightning lit up the sky just enough to show that the person was wearing a bloodstained tee shirt and holding something in their right hand.
The intruder took a step forward, Jane took a step back and raised the bat slightly. “You… better stay back..”
Mox chuckled and reached for her when the next clap of thunder had her screaming and that only freaked her out more, making her step further out of his reach. It didn’t occur to him that thanks to a blood stained tee shirt, she probably had all sorts of scary thoughts running through her head right now on top of an already present overwhelming fear of any sort of bad weather and the dark.
“Ain’t g-gonna hurt ya.” the intruder raised his hands, waving them almost defensively.
“Yeah, right.. Bet you said that to whoever’s blood is all over your shirt too. If you’re smart you’ll get the fuck outta here now because..” Jane hesitated a second, raising her bat, stepping away more when the intruder stepped a little closer and raised an arm.
Her back hit the wall at the end of the hallway and she gulped. She only had another step and she’d be in the bathroom but the way the intruder was pressing in against her was kind of trapping her between his body and the door her back was against.
“Because why?”
“My boyfriend.. He’s sleepin and if I scream, he’s gonna wake up and when that happens.. You’re as good as fucked.”
Mox raised a brow, almost snickering but resisting the urge. Having had about a third of the bottle of whiskey in his hand right now, it was more amusing to him than anything and he really wasn’t thinking about what Jane might be afraid was happening right now, otherwise, he wouldn’t have done it.
“Go on and laugh. But when Mox is beating the shit out of you you won’t be.”
Now that.. That was more than enough to sober Jon Moxley right up. And yeah, leave him temporarily speechless. But only temporarily. That cocky side took over and he smirked to himself in the darkness. “Wouldn’t want that, would I?”
“No, you wouldn’t.” Jane was about to step into the bathroom. Her phone was in there. If she could just get to it, she could call Mox and alert him, warn him what was happening so maybe he’d avoid it.
… or alternately, he’ll come rushing into your rescue.. Because that’s what you fantasize about, right?… her mind nagged at her, but fight or flight was kicking in and Jane had to act soon. If not whatever happened to the person whose blood was spattered all over the intruder’s shirt would happen to her.
And given the sheer volume, Jane wasn’t really fond of the idea of an almost certain death.
She raised the bat and his hand found her wrist, lowering it, prying her fingers from around the handle. Jane screamed and screamed as if her life depended on it and the intruder was laughing. “This isn’t..” Jane was pushing back against the door covertly and hoping that just this once it would fly open for her, letting out a ragged breath when it actually did, “Fucking funny. And it definitely won’t be just as soon as…” she stepped into the bathroom, slamming the door between herself and the intruder, sitting with her back wedged right up against it after hurrying to grab her phone off the countertop.
The door knob rattled and rattled and she could feel the door being pushed on from the other side.
← Mox
← so someone broke in I think… look, make the block or something instead of coming straight here. I’ll call 911 but… I just..
← I don’t want anything happening to you, alright?
Outside the bathroom door, the muffled sound of the factory ringer for Jon’s cell phone started to play and Mox scratched the back of his head, the glow of the screen lighting up the darkness.
He eyed the bathroom door and called through it, “If ya just open the fuckin door..”
“I’m calling the cops. When my boyfriend and the cops get through with your ass..” Jane started, but then the sound of Mox’s ringtone… In the apartment..
Jane bit her lip and eyed the door.
She did a quick check of her battery power and the time and raised a brow. The show still had another hour to go because Jane just didn’t seen Jon Moxley getting eliminated, not as good as he was or as well as he knew the ring, himself and his opponent. “What the..” she trailed off, hesitating when she heard it again.
Outside the bathroom door, Mox’s eyes darted over the texts she’d sent and he glanced up from his phone to look at the door, trying to wrap his head around the fact that Jane essentially sent him a text.. Warning him away from danger.
← Mox
← so someone broke in I think… look, make the block or something instead of coming straight here. I’ll call 911 but… I just..
← I don’t want anything happening to you, alright?
… the fuck was she gonna do for herself? Hope t’ fuck nothin happened or nobody kicked in the door?… she knows the cops don’t give two shits about what goes down on this side of town…
Hearing Jon’s cell phone going off in the apartment made Jane bolder. “You’re in deep shit now.”
She noticed it then, the door handle wasn’t rattling and the intruder wasn’t pushing at the door to try and get into the room with her.
She held her breath, waited for about a minute and rose to her feet.
Just to be safe, she picked up the glass vase her makeup brushes sat in. It might not do a whole lot in the way of damage to someone intending to do her harm but… It would give her time to run.
“This shit.. This is why girls like me die in horror movies.” she muttered mostly to herself just before flinging the door open. Just as the door swung open, the lights came on and Jane was greeted by the sight of Mox standing against the wall, staring at the screen of his cell phone with a far away and thoughtful look in his eyes.
“J-jon?”
Mox’s head snapped up and he bit back the urge to make a suggestive comment at the fact that she was apparently wandering around their apartment in one of the smaller bath towels.. Her hair still damp from a shower she’d probably taken just before he got in and the power went out.
… c’mon goddamn, work brain, work mouth.. Anythin?…
“ So I’m ya boyfriend now?”
“I..” it hit her then that Mox had been the intruder the entire time and she doubled over, laughing so hard that she actually snorted a time or two. “It was you?”
Mox knew her like the back of her hand. He knew her well enough to know that the laughter was her, deflecting. He stepped closer, a hand resting at her side, squeezing her hip. He cupped her jaw with the other hand, guiding her eyes up to meet his. “It’s kinda funny yeah, but.. Ya ain’t answered my question yet, doll… I’m ya boyfriend now, hmm?”
Jane’s laughter died away and she gulped, staring at his eyes, then his lips. Her mouth opened and closed a time or two but no words were coming. Nothing.
“I…”
“C’mon doll.. Don’t avoid my question. I mean..” he took a calculated risk and stepped closer to her, his hips against hers as he did it and he leaned down slightly, his mouth hovering just above her own. He licked his lips and muttered quietly, “Ya texted me before ya even thought about the cops, woman.. To warn me away.. Makes me think if ya didn’t feel somethin..” and he went quiet, not wanting to say too much.
There was a slim chance that he was too caught up in the moment, being too cocky and totally misreading the situation and the signs as they presented themselves to him now with shocking clarity.
Jane sighed and bit her lip, her heart beating so fast she thought it’d explode at any second. She’d pretty much given herself away.
Might as well come clean, get the whole awkward rejection part over with.
“Oh I do. More than you know.”
Her words shocked him and the shock registered quite visibly on his face. But in a split second, that shocked widening of his eyes was gone and in it’s place he was super focused, staring intently at her mouth as the hand on her hip crept down and squeezed a hand full of her ass through the towel when he hauled her completely against him. “How long, hmm?”
“How long what?”
“How long ya felt… whatever ya feel?”
“The honest answer?”
“Yeah.”
“Started when we were thirteen.. Then kinda… intensified when I answered your roommate ad a few months ago.” Jane dared to inch her lips closer to his. Her fingers went to his hair and the hem of his shirt as she grimaced at the blood spatter on the front.
In the light it wasn’t nearly as bad as she thought.
Mox took the hint and tugged his shirt over his head, muttering an apology before sliding her up his body and pressing her back against the wall. The second her mouth met his and her teeth sank into his lower lip he growled and started to kiss back; harder and deeper, his hands and fingers all over her, digging itno her hip at one point and earning him a hiss.
“Bumped into the damn counter in the dark a little while ago.” she explained it quickly, a quiet giggle.
“Shit.. Sorry.” he deepened the kiss even more and then mumbled against her mouth, “If being ya boyfriend ends up with gettin kissed like this.. Or you greetin me in a towel when I come home.. Don’t think I mind it at all, darlin.”

chemistry
part 2
warnings: getting followed ( marked with ****** ) and flirty!shy!peter
A/N: omg you guys liked this much more than i expected :’ ) please leave some feedback of what you’d like to see !! I’d love to hear what you guys think <3
part 1
You walked into chem just as you had every other day, flustered as you noticed peters lingering stare on you, his face soon flushed when you sat next to him and gave him a soft hi.
You both stole glances at each other, giggling softly when one of you caught the other. Like now for example. You watched peter fumble with the goggles, too amused to help him.
“why are you staring at me” he pouted and you blushed, face heating up and ears burning.
“I wasn’t staring!” You defended yourself, giggling a bit as the goggles fit him too tight.
“here, let me see them” you spoke, reaching your hand out as he handed you the goggles, your fringertips brushing as your heart rate sped up even more, you were sure he could hear it.
Peter could hear how fast your heart beat was, he was fighting the giant grin threatening to crawl onto his face. You fiddled with the straps and handed him the pair of goggles back.
“there, try it” you grinned at him, seeing the goggles fit perfectly. He thanked you softly and you saw his ears a deep shade of red, you smiled at him and headed to a lab table, ready to experiment with sami.
Peter headed to a lab table four away from yours, you could still see the outline of his jaw and the way his arms flexed underneath the shirt he was wearing. You had to stop yourself from going into the depths of your mind.
“oh my god can you please keep your stares to a minimum right now? we have a fire going on!” sami gelled, motioning to the bunts and burner she had lit up.
“yeah sorry” you spoke, chuckling as she smiled at you.
“nah don’t worry about it, I’m betting now he’ll ask you out by Christmas break” sami spoke, looking over at peter and Ned almost done with the lab.
You scoffed as you grabbed the items you needed and quickly took notes as the small reaction took place. You offered to clean up the lab, seeing as though you had taken the notes and sami still needed to copy them. After wiping the table down you rushed over to put the goggles back in their container.
You got on your tip toes to put them in their spot, and you held your breath as you realized peter was right behind you, putting his goggles up too.
You stopped breathing. You could feel his chest on your back, the way his arms just ever so slightly grazed your bare skin. You were almost in a daze before you realized how close the two of you really were.
You rushed to your seat quickly, face burning hot and a smile creeping it’s way onto your face, you rushed to Sami’s side, squealing as you walked to orchestra, giving her every last detail of the interactions between the two of you.
The first week of school flew by in a whirlwind, suddenly you were fully flung into working mode, the piles of papers you had to write shoved into your backpack. But the one thing that you savored more than anything else was the time you spent in chemistry laughing at the back of the class with peter, or getting to copy his notes.
It was Sunday night, you had finally finished all your homework. Just as you were about to get in the restroom to shower, a wave of realization hit you. The art project. Painting somewhere safe.
You grabbed all your clothes and quickly ran out the door, rushing to find your shoes and heading out to a small park you had found. It was sort of your safe haven.
You thanked god that you had started doing your other work yesterday so that you had enough time to finish early today.
You sketched out the small opening with a little gazebo to the side, a small pond with a generous amount of ducks and trees. You hummed to old one direction tunes, stopping here and there to text your best friend from back home. She FaceTimed you and you smiled brightly, answering on the first ring.
“Ximena!” You smiled, as she waved through the screen.
“oh my god hey! i miss you bitch” she pouted and you sighed, “i miss you too thot, i have like one friend here and that’s it” you groaned, propping your phone up on your water bottle so you continue to sketch.
“what are you doing?” She asked, leaning in to see what you were working on. You smiled at her question and held up your piece of paper.
“art, we have to draw a safe space so I’m drawing this cute little park i found” you explained setting it back down.
“so tell me about that boy you like, what’s his name? Patrick?” She asked, smiling widely.
You laughed at her, “it’s peter and oh my god i have to sneak a picture of him he’s so fucking hot and cute” you groaned, leaning back and smiling at her through the screen.
“The other day my back was against his chest and oh my god it was magical xime” you smiled, remembering the way his skin felt against yours.
You and ximena talked for hours, catching up and just talking about nothing. You didn’t even realize the sun was already going down.
“shit, I’ll text you when I’m home, i have to catch the bus back home or else it’s like a 30 minute walk” you spoke, putting your colors and pens back into your back and carefully slipping in your art project.
“okay be safe!” your best friend called before you hung up. You walked quickly to bus station, and then started sprinting when you realized “oh my god that’s the bus i have to take home.”
You tried to run after the bus but no luck, you groaned and looked around, no one. Your eyes started to tear up but you quickly wiped them. You’ll be fine don’t be dramatic.
You didn’t know if it was just because it was dark, but you realized Queens was terrifying. Every noise you heard you were ready to fight, scared that some creepy old man would try something with you.
You looked at the map on your phone, and then looked up, realizing you had been going the wrong way. “No, no, no!” You groaned, turning around and walking much quicker the right way.
“do you uh, need a little help miss?” You heard an you spun around quickly. He seemed nice, middle aged, carrying some groceries. Something told you to stay away, say you were fine and leave.
“uhm no I’m okay- thank you” you spoke, offering him a small smile and walking the other way quickly.
“no please let me help, are you lost?” He spoke, setting his bags down and crossing the street. Oh god.
“no! Just uh change of plans my mom should be here any minute” you spoke, voice shaking as the man kept coming closer.
******
“I can take you home” he smiled at you and you ran for it, glancing down to see you were going the right way and you realized, i can’t let this guy know where i live. You took a sharp turn, hoping to loose him after running at top speed for five minutes.
Your throat burned and your legs hurt, god you were out of shape. You frantically looked around, you were alone.
You let out a loud sigh, holding onto the wall as you caught your breath again. Suddenly you were being tackled into an alley, a small scream leaving your mouth before it was muffled into the mans hand.
******
Peter heard a scream, immediately swinging the way he had just came from.
“karen what’s going on?” Peter asked as he swung towards the source of distress.
“It seems as though there is an assault in the alley to your right” the AI spoke calmly.
“call the cops now karen!” He rushed, landing softly and looking into the alley. He didn’t see anything and then suddenly the hair on his neck stood up. He moved quickly, the bullet going straight into the wall.
“hey i don’t have life insurance yet!” Peter spoke, running towards the man and taking him down. The man struggled but peter quickly webbed his hands up, pinning him to the wall.
From the corner of his eye he saw you moving away quickly, out of the alley and onto the street.
“hey!” He called out, running after you.
You spun around quickly, your backpack wet and you knew your project was ruined, the tears in your eyes threatening to leak out.
“the cops will be here soon just wait a bit okay? I’ll be here with you” He spoke, his voice muffled from the mask and you nodded softly. You pulled out the piece of paper from your backpack. Half of it was wet and ripped and the other half was all wrinkled.
“great now my art project is ruined” you cried putting your head in your hands and letting out a groan. Peter wanted nothing more than to take you into his arms and hold you, shield you from the world an show you love. But you didn’t know peter was Spider-Man.
You knew peter was in marching band and academic decathlon, that he was really smart and according to your whispering with Sami, really hot. Peter looked at you, you were scared and honestly after almost being robbed who wouldn’t be.
“you almost got assaulted and you’re worrying about an art project?” Peter gave you a small smile and you rolled your eyes.
“well yeah it’s my first impression! those always matter” you scoffed, folding your arms over your chest. The faint sound of sirens and the hue of red and blue lights brought you some relief.
As the police officers approached you and this spandex wearing hero they asked you questions, wanting to know if you wanted to press charges.
You knew pressing charges meant your parents knowing and if they found out something like that happened you would have to spend your entire life indoors.
The man was still arrested, seeing as though he was wanted and when they offered you a ride you denied it, you were only two blocks away and you did not want to show up at home in a cop car.
“uh thank you for, saving me spandex wearing guy” you spoke, cringing as the words left your mouth. You could hear the smile in the boys voice as he spoke behind the mask.
“it’s no problem, I’m uh Spider-Man” he spoke and you nodded. “Oh? uh okay thanks again” you smiled heading home. Peter quickly caught up to you and you lifted a brow.
“did i forget something?” You asked, naive to the fact he wanted to walk you home.
“i just wanna make sure you get home safe” he spoke and you blushed.
“well okay spider guy” you grinned as he blushed a bit. “spider-man, sorry i just moved from Texas, i don’t really know about local super heroes, only like the big avengers, the six ones i think?” You spoke, looking at the ground. Peter was quiet beside you.
“Oh my god, not that you aren’t an avenger! i mean you are! I’m not one to say i can’t even run a mile in under ten minutes in gym class- i mean you saw how out of shape i was” you rambled, stopping in your tracks as you tried to make sure you didn’t hurt the heroes feelings.
“It’s okay, i would say I’m an avenger, i was in Germany when the whole iron man vs cap was going down” he spoke and you knew for a fact he was smirking under the mask.
“i mean might as well get knighted in as an avenger right” you smiled, laughing softly as he agreed with you.
When you got home you quickly thanked him, awkwardly waving goodnight and rushing in your house. You showered and changed into an over sized hoodie and some shorts, re drawing your painting and looking out your apartment window, the city lights visible. You glanced at your clock, 3:45 a.m. It was only the second weeks of school.
You reluctantly got out of bed the next day, only 3 hours of sleep under your belt. Walking out the door the only thought on your mind was getting back home and taking a nap, or maybe you could close your eyes for a while in your small animal class, you never did much in that class.
Unluckily for you you had to take notes in your history class (you almost fell asleep had it not been for the nice girl next to you notifying you when the slides changed) your counselor called you down to finally get you out of basketball, and you had an essay in ap Lang. You just wanted to nap.
With a blurry vision you made your way to the cafeteria, wanting nothing more than to nap, even if it was 30 minutes. You found sami and quickly sat down with her, putting your head down and tuning out her rambling about some drama between girls.
She let you sleep and you were grateful, only waking you up when they were dismissing, you rushed to your art class and handed in your project, praying your teacher wouldn’t be harsh on grading. You walked outside to small animal, the bright sun shining down on your sleep deprived face, making you want to just stay in a dark room and sleep for years on end.
Your hopes of napping were crushed as you had a test, you also had on in pre cal. You walked to AP chem, your mind was blank and you just wished you only had notes today.
You sat down and pulled on the strings of your hoodie, taking a deep breath before taking the hood off and making the strings even once again. You hadn’t even noticed peter looking at you, you were too tired a delirious to.
“uhm are you okay?” Peter asked, knowing well what had happened last night.
“what? well does it look like it?” You snapped quickly, turning back to the front and yawning. You looked back at him with a sorry look. “I just didn’t sleep well last night” you spoke, taking your notebook out and flipping to an empty page.
“oh sorry” peter spoke, opening his journal and taking notes along with the slide show.
“so I’m guessing you know about Spider-Man?” You asked in a soft whisper, not looking away from your journal as you copied down some notes.
Peters face went pale, his heart rate inscreased. You didn’t know right? I mean how could you he barely talked to you for maybe 15 minutes! “uhm What? Who’s Spider-Man?” Peter asked, trying to play dumb before realize how stupid he sounded.
“that spider guy with the spandex? part of the avengers- according to him at least” you spoke, looking at peter and noticing his pale face.
“are you okay? want water?” You asked, concern on your face. Peter felt relieved, you had no clue.
“I’m fine, oh yeah Spider-Man! Sorry just had a brain fart” he chuckled nervously. “Yeah i know him, really cool guy, super awesome” he spoke, nodding his head and you hummed in response.
“yeah i met him last night walking home, seems like a good guy. We didn’t really have super heroes where i lived so, pretty cool” you smiled at peter and he smiled back, nodding his head in agreement.
“also I’m sure that flash guy in my pre cal class has a crush on him or something, i can see why though” you laughed, and peter snorted softly, causing the teacher to look at the two of you quickly. You both hid your giggles, not wanting to get in trouble.
As the last few minutes approached you put your journal back in your backpack, smiling at peter as you he looked at you quickly.
“what?” You laughed softly, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. Peter looked at you and smiled.
“you’re wearing mismatching Halloween socks, it’s barely August” you folded your arms across your chest and furrowed your brows.
“it’s almost spooky time” you spoke, the bell ringing as you finished your sentence, smiling as peter laughed at the perfect timing of the bell.
You walked out with sami telling her of your conversation with peter. The rest of the day went by quickly and you found yourself on the train once again. Your eyelids felt heavy as you sat down and you kept pinching yourself to try and stay awake.
You finally got to your stop, hopping off the train and deciding to walk home to try and wake yourself up so you could do homework when you arrived home.
After a few hours of doing homework and taking dance breaks you went to wash your face and changed into some shorts and a t shirt. You fell asleep quickly and didn’t notice the little note peter had stuffed in your chemistry notebook.
The next day you woke up feeling a lot better, sami was absent so you spent the whole day bored. The nice girl in your history class, Esmeralda, made conversation with you and the both of you seemed to click.
Your schedule got changed and so now you had Pre cal 4th and B lunch and your first period was now AP Lang. You hurried into the cafeteria, not knowing where to sit or who to sit with.
“y/n!” You heard from beside you and you quickly looked around, you saw esmeraldas long black hair and a bright smile on her face.
“hey!” You smiled walking up to her and heading to the lunch line. “I just got switched into this lunch I’m so glad you found me” you chuckled and she nodded.
“yeah the girl i used to sit with has C lunch now, i guess the counselors are finally getting the changes done huh” she spoke and you agreed. You both talked for a bit more before sitting at a small round table with two seats.
“so tell me, do you have a crush on anyone?” She smirked and your face grew hot.
“I mean yeah maybe” you smiled sheepishly, looking down at your food and messing with the taco salad that had been served.
“who!” she squeaked, looking at you in excitement. Your smile grew wide as you thought of peter.
“his name’s Peter Parker, i have him in my chem class” you smiled, looking at her as her smile slowly faded. “what?” you asked nervously, stomach dropping slightly.
“is he in band?” She asked, looking through her phone for something.
“yeah” you slowly spoke, worry starting to form.
“i think he’s on and off with this one girl MJ, i could be wrong though i don’t know.” She looked at you sympathetically and you shrugged your shoulders.
“it is what it is” you gave her a small smile and she shook her head.
“I have him in band, I’ll talk to him to set you guys up” she smiled, excited at the idea of getting to set two people up together.
“you don’t have to” you spoke, a feeling in your stomach you couldn’t describe. You wanted to trust her but something didn’t seem right.
“no i want to, I’ll get him to like you I’m sure of it” she smiled, and you only laughed softly in return, finishing off your lunch in silence.
You smiled at peter walking into chemistry.
“good afternoon Parker” you smiled at him and he laughed.
“afternoon to you Parks” tipping an imaginary hat toward you and you smiled, putting a hand on your forehead and pretending to faint.
You opened the journal and a small piece of paper slipped out, you picked it up and saw a small ghost with a pumpkin next to it “spooky time!” was written under the doodle “- peter:~)”
You smiled brightly and shoved the little piece of paper in your pocket quickly flipping to a new page and taking notes.
“the first football game is coming up” peter spoke as he watched you write down the facts from the board, he could easily copy them from Ned or maybe he can ask you for your number to get them.
“oh yeah, is the band preforming?” You asked nonchalantly and peter shrugged.
“I’m not sure, a trailer broke down the other day so we might be stuck with the spirit show instead of the actual marching show” he whispered, smiling at the way your tongue slightly poked out from your concentration.
“hm I might go, gotta have some school spirit” you giggled, “you’ll be there right?” You asked, blushing at your words, did you sound desperate? Did he take it the wrong way?
Peters face heated up at your words and a giant grin painted his face. “Yeah I’ll be there, im gonna be with the band but I’ll wave at you if i see you” He smiled and you nodded.
“I might just go, only to support my favorite band of course” you smirked and peter blushed, his heart pounding just as hard as yours. As class came to an end you slipped a little piece of paper on his desk, quickly heading out before he could say anything.
he unfolded the little paper and saw a small doodle of what looked like stick figure you and peter. A mop of curly hair on peters head and squiggly lines on your head. “friday night lights :D” was messily written underneath the poor drawing and peter felt his heart implode out of pure emotion.
He couldn’t wait for Friday to come.

Soulmates
WARNINGS: Contains a slight bit of lovin’ in this chapter. 18+ only please, Reader is kind of a little bit of a bully in this chapter (I promise it won’t last long..)
As per usual I want to thank @ramibaby for all of her help and suggestions. @ramimalekpeen-deactivated201909 has deactivated (which breaks my heart) I will still thank her anyway. You two helped really offer the kind of guidance that I’ve needed to finish with this chapter. Just a heads up though guys, this chapter was written before the prologue, and I haven’t quite made as much progress on chapter two as I would have liked, so it may be a bit of a wait for the next chapter. XOXOXO
And a very special twin makes an appearance!!! :)
Link to prologue: X
PART ONE
You looked up at him in complete confusion, as you desperately tried to pry your hands apart once again. It was like they had been superglued together - nothing you'd tried to do to unstick them had been successful.
"Rami, what's going on?" You quirked a brow.
He didn't seem all that concerned about this predicament, and simply threw back his head, speaking between mocking chuckles,
"Looks like you're really stuck with me now."
"Rami,this-it-it isn't funny! What's happening? What did you do to our hands?!" You pressed, suddenly on the verge of tears. You were exhausted and wanted nothing more than to collapse on the shitty bed awaiting you in your hotel room.
It was then your attention was drawn toward Rami's hotel room door. With a loud bang, it swung open, that sound like a knife cutting through the tense, heavy air surrounding you. A rather dishevelled looking Sami peered out from behind the dark wood, his hair a mess and eyes weary.
"There you are!" He exhaled, shoulders slumping and eyes rolling. "I thought I lost you!"
He gestured toward you and Rami as he made quick strides toward you both. It wasn't until he came to a stop before you his relieved expression vanished, replaced by one of pure shock and disbelief. With wide eyes he stared at your linked hands, his mouth agape. Why on earth such a seemingly innocent gesture caused this reaction was beyond you, and only added to your growing sense of anxiety. Suddenly, Sami's face broke out in a smirk and he reached up to nervously scratch the back of his head.
"Uhhh…" He stammered, eyes darting between you both, before resting on Rami's. " I think it's time you two had a little discussion..." He raised a brow, nodding knowingly toward Rami who seemed adamant on not meeting his brothers stare.
With a sigh, Rami's eyes met yours and he reluctantly huffed,
"I guess so."
APPROXIMATELY TWELVE HOURS EARLIER
As you finally pulled into the parking lot of the swanky hotel your best friend Beatrice had decided was an idyllic location for her wedding, you let out a relieved sigh. It had been a long two days in the car and you were looking forward to getting checked in, and then settling in for a much needed nap.
Grabbing your bags and locking the car you headed inside, where you were greeted by Bea's loud squeals of delight and the sight of her sprinting toward you.
"Y/N YOU MADDDDDEEEE ITTTTTT!" she bellowed, arms out wide and you found yourself suddenly wrapped in one of her rib crushingly tight bear hugs.
"Oof!" you huffed, eyes so wide that if you could see yourself in the reflection of the tiled floor you would swear they were bulging out of your head.
"Bea…" you tapped her shoulder, voice strained as you gasped for air. "Too tight…"
She let go of you immediately and you drew in a sharp breath, clutching your chest.
"Oh, sorry…" she giggled, nervously avoiding your disgruntled stare. " Just missed you…"
"Really?" you chuckled, straightening out your now crumpled shirt. "Hadn't noticed…"
She hummed, straightening up her posture and speaking with an air of smugness as she stared down her nose at you,
"Well, that's because I'm a great actor."
"Uh huh…" You drawled, narrowing your eyes.
She shook her head dismissively at your lack of belief.
"S'true, just ask Joey baby…"
"Joey baby?" Your scrunched your nose, cringing at the pet name.
"Yes. Now that we are getting married I have taken it upon myself to utterly repulse all my guests with the sickening love I feel."
"Wow, well do you think you could hold off on the pet names just for me?" You poked her shoulder, speaking softly, " You're favorite bridesmaid…?"
She rolled her eyes,
"You've seen and heard worse from the two of us and don't flatter yourself."
"Excuse me?" You placed a hand on your hip, eyes honing in on hers as you bore a playful smirk. "Who else knows you like I do huh?"
Bea shrugged, fobbing you off with a wave of her hand as she looked anywhere but at you.
"Absolute perfectionist who is easily distracted and so stubbornly set in her ways that there ain't a chance in hell of getting you to stop something once you've set your mind to it…."
You babbled, moving your head to try and meet her gaze.
She was smiling at your words, purposefully darting her eyes away every time they met yours. Her smile grew wider as she reluctantly agreed,
"Alright...I guess you know me pretty well." Her eyes finally met yours again. "And you are my favourite bridesmaid." She took one of your hands in both of hers as she continued, "I'm so glad you're here, Joe's been so annoying with his chaotic energy this last few weeks."
"Oh god…" you chuckled, shaking your head. "Can I at least have a nap before I get thrust into Joe babysitting duty? I've been in the car for like 2 days and I'm really tired."
"Aw, of course!" She smiled. "but... not until you've met your partner in crime for this week, and also, Joe will be very offended if you don't say hello first, he's been dyyyying to see you." She rolled her eyes once again and you couldn't help but roll yours too.
"Man, that boy is needy, I Skype'd you guys what? Two days ago!" You exclaimed. "Why does he need me? Isn't Mr. Mazzello busy being entertained by his..." you raised your hands, making air quotes. "Hollywood friends?"
"Heeey watch it, one of those 'Hollywood friends' is my cousin. You remember Rami right?"
You just stare at Bea incredulously for a good solid minute before opening your mouth to reply. She knows damn well you have haven't forgotten who he is. Being his cousin and the soon-to-be wife of Rami's best friend, she knows you spent most of your childhood and teen years around him.
"How could I forget? He's the asshole who shoved me into the pool at your 17th birthday party." you angrily mumble.
"Oh come on, that was like twenty years ago. I can't believe you still remember that! Besides, he did eventually apologize for it and he still claims it was kind of an accident."
"Psht, it wasn't an accident, but regardless, I still ended up in a pool, and he didn't even bother to ask if I was okay, or to try helping me out. He just laughed and then left with one of his stupid friends. He was such a jerk. Ugh. You of all people know that I had the biggest crush on him back then, it was so embarrassing! Sami was at least nice to me, he was the one that helped me out and he wouldn't stop apologizing for his brother. Sami was always the nicer twin, to me. You also know it isn't just the pool incident, what about the time at the movie theater? Or the most embarrassing time when he actually stood me up for a date when I truly thought he might actually like me? "
Bea sighed and then opened her mouth to speak, but was rudely interrupted by a loud screeching,
"YYYYYYNNNNNNN!!!"
Turning your head, you saw Joe frantically waving his long arms - the sight of a grown man acting so unabashedly childish making you throw your head back with laughter. Joe had always exuded such a chaotic energy that it was almost infectious.
"JOOOOEEEEEYYYY!!!" You yelled, bouncing excitedly on the spot. This earned a chuckle from Joe as he bolted toward you.
Soon you found yourself wrapped in the embrace of Joe's strong arms, your head pressed to his warm chest as you heard Bea mutter,
"Imma leave you with my overgrown man child and get you checked in."
Pulling back abruptly from the hug, Joe gripped your shoulders, smiling down at you as he took in your tired state.
"So, long drive?" He pouted dramatically, staring into your droopy eyes.
You simply hummed and nodded.
"I still don't understand why you didn't just fly."
"Mozzarella why would I fly, when I can enjoy the quiet solitude of a drive with great views? I got some fantastic photos on the trip here."
"Hmm...touche! You'll have to show me." He let his hands drop to his sides as he looked over his shoulder. He looked back at you with a brow furrowed and gestured toward Bea at the reception. "You not checked in yet?"
"Not yet, Bay-Bea intercepted me before I could. She said she was going to check me in."
He nodded knowingly, smiling.
"Maybe you can tell me what Bea meant by my 'partner-in-crime' for the week?!" Joe raised an eyebrow and tried to avert his eyes.
"Mozzarella-" you said a little more aggressively than you intended.
"Ummm… Welll….uh," he stammered, scratching the back of his head. " Bea decided that all the bridesmaids and groomsmen are partnered together this week for various activities we have planned, and uh, Rami is your partner." He bit his lip, seemingly mulling over his own words. "Annnnnd now she's gonna kill me before we're even married because I wasn't supposed to tell you. And oh my GOD I do NOT wanna die yet."
He almost jumped out of his skin when he felt Bea's gentle touch on his back. Her hand remained there as she stood beside him, looking curiously between the two of you.
"Uh, babe?" She questioned softly, a small smile forming. "why are you going to die?!"
"Jesus woman!" He exhaled, staring down at her and draping his arm around her shoulders. "what have I said about sneaking up..."
"I wasn't sneaking!" Bea implored. "I was walking, it's not my fault you can't hear-"
You cut their bickering off with a deadpan,
"He told me what you meant about the whole partner-in-crime thing." That seemed to shut Bea up almost immediately, her attention solely on you and lips pursed into a tight line as you continued, "And I don't like it."
Bea side eyed a rather nervous looking Joe before her stern expression dropped. She let out a loud guffaw of laughter, proceeding to nuzzle her head into her fiance's chest. Joe looked just as confused as you were, offering you a shrug before welcoming Bea's affections by wrapping his arms around her.
"Y/N, it really wasn't meant to be a secret." Bea explained. "I just didn't want to tell you because you might have bailed on me or something. Everyone else knew except you." She looked down at her free hand, in which she held a room key. "By the way, this is for you." She held it out for you and you willingly took it. "Go have your nap but please be dressed nicely for dinner at 5 on the terrace. Oh, and you are in room 404."
She smiled brightly at you before looking up to Joe and groaning,
"And for the love of Goood, you and Joe need to take a chill pill, I'm the one supposed to be having fits of hysterics, being the bride and all..." she raised a brow.
"Fiiiine…" you sighed. "Drama Queen….but thanks for getting me checked in, I do appreciate it."
Unsettled by the bombshell that was partnering with Rami for the week, you made your way to the elevators, your mind fraught with memories of his persuasive charm and sharp wit.
Once you arrived at your floor, you made your way to your room. It was when you turned to close your door you caught a glimpse of a familiar mop of curls headed toward the elevator. Your breath hitched immediately, and your stomach flipped. You knew he was going to be here, so you shouldn't have been surprised, but actually seeing him again after all these years seemed kind of surreal.
He had been nothing but a figment of your memory for so long that he had become almost fictional - a two dimensional character who, constrained to your fading memories, you could justifyingly villainize. But now, he was here, in the flesh, walking so damn casually to the elevator, and looking so damn fine while doing it. Granted, you had only seen his back, but you had to admit, it was a nice one. As foolish as you felt your compulsion to run after him was, you couldn't help but feel it, simultaneously though, another part of you wanted to hide away in your room all week and never face him again. God, you had almost forgotten how easily he got under your skin.
After your much needed nap, you woke up feeling rested but rather annoyed at the cheerfulness of your alarm's ringtone. A moment of panic set in until your disoriented self remembered where you were, a feeling of dread following soon after.
Sitting up and stretching out your aching body, you realised that, as painful as it was to admit Joe was right - flying would have been a better idea. With your heart and mind set on a hot shower, you grabbed your toiletries and headed to the bathroom.
Once your shower was over, you decided that even though Bea had instructed you to dress nice, you really weren't in the mood for applying the makeup that 'dressing nice' entailed, so you simply pulled your hair into a messy bun and threw on your favorite little black dress and flats.
Once you were thoroughly satisfied with your appearance, you grabbed your phone and room key and headed towards the terrace, opting to take the stairs instead of the elevator.
It was as you bounded off the last step your body collided with that of someone stepping out of the elevator. You hit them with such force that, if they had not reflexively grabbed your shoulders, you would have fallen flat on your ass.
"Woah there!" A deep voice warned, strong hands gripping you tight as you almost tripped over your own shoes.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" You stammered, eyes on your stumbling feet.
"Haha, it's alright!"
There was a moment of silence as you looked up at the man before you, and it wasn't until you locked eyes that you realised you and your fellow collide-e weren't strangers. He may have noticeably more facial hair and laugh lines since you'd last seen him, but you'd recognise that face anywhere.
"Sami?" You spoke in near disbelief, a bright smile forming as your eyes searched his.
"...Y/N?" Sami seemed just shocked as you, his gaze falling to your body, his smile wide.
"Oh my god…" You gushed, one hand covering your mouth as the other instinctively reached out. "You're…you're a man now..."
You almost couldn't believe this man was once the 18 year old boy who'd graciously helped you out of the pool all those years ago.
Without hesitation you extended a finger to gently prod his now overgrown locks, earning a rather bemused chuckle from him.
"Haha!" Little creases formed around his eyes as he revelled in your apparent wonder of the aging process.
You must have looked like a fool standing there gawking at the man, but you just couldn't help it. He looked so different, so mature, and so damn fine.
God, if he looked this good, you dreaded thinking about what Rami looked like now, considering historically, he'd been the one to make your knees weak. Sure, you'd seen Rami on the silver screen, but you knew seeing his real, three dimensional face before you would be entirely different.
"And you are…" He started that sentence without seeming to consider where it may go, opting to punctuate it with a vague gesture to your body and stammered, "You, you look amazing!"
Thankfully, you were wrapped in his tight hug immediately after, so he wasn't able to see your now blushing cheeks.
When he pulled back, he returned your bright smile and asked,
"It's been so long! How have you been?"
Since finding out about Rami? Not so great honestly.
"I'm doing okay I suppose." You nodded, mirroring his long strides as he started walking. "Just working, and trying to find the time to do things I like, which y'know is hard when you work 96 hours a week."
"Woah!" He jerked back his head. " What do you do? If I remember correctly you always wanted to be a nurse."
"Yeah that's exactly what I do, but I'm considering going back to school to become a nurse practitioner."
"You should!" He implored.
"Yeah, we'll see. But what about you? Bea told me you're a teacher?"
"Yeah. It can be such a rewarding job, stressful, but rewarding. Kids can be sweet… sometimes." He rolled his eyes.
You chuckled,
"Haha, sounds just as rewarding as what I do."
A beat passed where you were just walking in silence, save for the sound of your footsteps clacking on the smooth floor.
"And how's your brother? I've seen some of his stuff. He's actually really talented, well I mean I've always known he was ridiculously talented but... I mean.. It's just... Anyway, I thought his portrayal of Freddie was incredible."
"Yeah, it was incredible. He's doing alright. If you remember anything positive about my brother then you know what my concerns are, when he works he really gives it his all and I'm just a little worried that he's gotten in over his head. He'd never admit it because he enjoys his work so much, but I think he sometimes over does it."
"Yes, I do vaguely recall how much effort he puts into his performances. I used to watch him study and would sometimes get roped into running lines with him. Hahahaha... I never was one for acting though."
"Yeah,” he threw back his head, letting out a soft chuckle as continued, “you were a terrible actress. But Rami, he always had the magic. He was actually reading over something for his latest project when I left him to come down here would you believe?."
“Yes. I thought I saw him earlier, but I wasn't sure. I'm surprised the fans haven't descended on him yet. So where exactly is he? I've been anxious to see him again after all these years. "
Anxious being the operative word.
"Oh trust me, his royal highness is probably still preening in the mirror, but he should down soon. He came down to the lobby earlier to talk to Joe but when he came back upstairs, he did mention that heard you'd arrived." he laughed.
"Oh, so he cares that I’ve arrived?" you pressed, raising a brow.
Sami just gave a nonchalant shrug, before responding,
"I don't know hun, but he seemed to be in good spirits after hearing you'd gotten here. He actually wanted to talk to you about something, but given what happened the last time you saw each other, I advised him that it wasn't a great idea."
"God Sami, I was so in love with him, and I just felt like such an idiot from the get go. It was painful how one-sided it ended up being. It took me a long time to move on. After Bea's party I went home and cried like the ridiculously hormonal teenager I was. I don't even want to talk about the failed dinner date fiasco."
"Trust me YN, it... It took him a while to get over what he did. My mom heard about it from Bea which is why he had to apologize to you. Though Bea and I did have bets placed on how badly you'd beat him up, kinda surprised that you didn’t actually."
You can't help but laugh at the memory of a very uncomfortable looking Rami standing in front of you in his mother's kitchen, while an audience of family and friends observed his sad attempt at an apology.
"Haha, Sami you are so right, Jesus, I wanted to smash his pretty face in. But.. I wasn't going to lash out in front of your mom, she's such an amazing woman. I wouldn't want to disappoint her by negatively overreacting to his sad attempt at an apology."
"Trust me, mom gave him a tongue lashing in both Arabic and English. It was... Well... I've never seen her get so upset at my brother over anything girl related before. Not like that anyway." Sami smirked at the memory.
"I am very sorry Sam."
He just laughed again,
"Don't apologize to me. It was far too entertaining."
By the time you two reached the terrace, the bride and groom were just sitting down, so you headed over to the table. Sami pulled your chair out for you and gestured for you to sit, so you took the offered seat. You smiled at him and gave him a thank you, before reaching for the menu. You were mentally debating between steak or chicken when you heard a slight commotion. You looked up in time to see Rami rushing towards table muttering his apologizes for being late.
"Always know how to make an entrance don't you bro." Sami cheekily noted.
"Yeah, yeah..." came Rami's rather cavalier response.
You couldn't help yourself so you chimed in,
"So his royal highness finally decided to grace us with his presence."
You could feel all eyes on you, some with their mouths agape, others just looked slightly shocked. Bea tried to hide her amused smile behind her wine glass and Joe straight out laughed, whether at you or whatever Bea whispered to him you weren’t sure. Rami didn't acknowledge your statement, so you continued on,
"Surprised to see you at all, and I'm even more surprised that you didn't drag your pretty little blonde here with you."
You didn't mean to be so rude, you really didn't, but for some inexplicable reason your brain and mouth couldn't stop spewing venom.
Sami nearly choked on his drink and Joe almost spit his out all over his amused fiancé.
"Oh shit Y/N...shots fired.." came Bea's quiet response, as she slowly took a sip of her wine, her eyes darting back and forth between you and Rami.
"Y/N, please reserve that whit of yours for stuff you actually understand." Rami deadpanned, sounding rather displeased with this topic of conversation. "I’m here now. I apologized for being late, and despite what you may think I was doing, I was actually on a conference call discussing an upcoming project.” He paused, doe eyes staring you down before he frowned and muttered,
“Though I'm not sure why you think I owe you any explanation at all...."
You couldn’t believe his candour, and jerked back your head as you spoke,
"Oh that's right, I forgot we’ve got a big shot Hollywood star with us. You know, winning an Oscar doesn’t give you the right to be a jerk." you spat, words sounding much more venomous than you intended.
"Rami. Y/N." Joe warned, with a hint of amusement in his voice, "I can't believe that this is coming out of my mouth but please, children behave!"
You rolled your eyes, from a technical standpoint you did start it. You glanced back at your menu to continue your internal debate when you heard Rami's voice calling your name.
"Y/N?" Rami asked.
"Yes, Rami?" You avoided his stare, looking over the menu before you.
"Just wanted to say you look good all grown up, especially in that pretty little black dress." He spoke with a hint of sarcasm in his tone.
You laughed, knowing he was joking though you couldn't do anything to stop the blush that was spreading across your face - and chest. Feeling incredibly flustered even though you knew he didn't mean a word of it, you decided to respond as maturely as you could. Which apparently was as mature as twelve year old without parental supervision.
"Malek, eat shit." Came your smug response.
"Wow. And here I thought I was being nice giving you a compliment."
Staring him down, you spat,
"Yeah, I'd have believed you, maybe, if you weren't being so sarcastic. "
Before Rami could respond he was cut off by Bea,
"Awwww babe, aren't they cute? It seems as if they are on track for an epic love story like ours. You know guys, sometimes the best love stories start with a mutual hatred of each other. God, I absolutely hated Joe when I first met him and now I can't imagine my life without him."
Bea made googly eyes at Joe who just took her hand in his and kissed her knuckles. His voice strained as smiled at her and spoke through mock tears,
“She hated me so much.”
This time it was you who nearly spit out your drink, and Rami nearly choked on the olive he had just popped into his mouth. A coughing fit came from him when Sami smacked his back to help him clear his throat.
"What's the matter Malek, can't handle a bit of teasing? " you stated mostly for the purposes of trying to rile him up a little more. God that man brings out the worst in you, and of course being the fully grown adult you are, you handle it with such great aplomb.
You couldn't hear his response but whatever he said made his brother's eyes go wide for a few moments and was quickly followed by the distinct sound of someone kicking someone under the table.
"Owww!" Rami murmured quietly as you observed him hunched over to rub at the sore spot on one of his gorgeous little chicken legs.
"Serves you right man. That was rude and wildly inappropriate." Sami huffed out of frustration while side eyeing his brother.
Rami smirked in response to his brother and winked at you when he realized you were openly staring at him.
“Just like all those years ago Y/N, it seems you still have a staring problem. I mean, I know I'm gorgeous, or whatever people call me these days, but girl… you just can't help yourself can you?" He teased, tone light and joking.
"Oh Jesus Christ Rami, what the hell?!" Sami scolded as he observed the hurt expression on your face.
You could feel the tears welling up in your eyes but, determined not to let the hurt and anger come spilling out in front of him, you grabbed your glass and take a deep pull of whatever liquid was in the cup.
You ended up tuning out the conversation for a while as you reminisced, getting lost in old memories of the four (sometimes five if Sami joined) members of your group doing various activities throughout your youth, smiling to yourself at the memories of his golden skin in the pool. He always did look amazing when he was wet.
Pulling yourself out of your "Rami-daze" you turn your attention back to the bride and groom. Seizing an opportunity in the lull of conversation you asked,
"Soooo… Mozzarella, what are these activities that I was hearing about earlier from Bay-Bea?"
Joe needed little prompting as he and Beatrice launched into the details of all the different things they had planned for the week leading up to their ceremony. So many activities and so little time, but you weren't going to complain. You know how much time and effort had gone into planning this. How many middle of the night frantic phone calls from Bea and Joe wanting your opinion on something or the other. Nobody was allowed to go to sleep until the crisis, whatever it was, had been resolved.
"So we are supposed to be up at the ass crack of dawn tomorrow for what reason?" asked Joe's best man and brother.
"It's a surprise!" Bea exclaimed.
"It's a no from me then." Joe's brother said.
"Oh please your ass can go back to bed after, it's only about an hour of your time." Joe deadpanned.
"Well I'm down for whatever it is." Sami assured.
"Thank you Sami-I appreciate the enthusiasm." Bea smiled.
"So Bea, this group is kind of small tonight, where is everyone?" you inquired.
"Everyone else will be coming in the next couple of days." Joe answered for her.
"What's the dress code for tomorrow morning's festivities?" Rami inquired.
"Comfortable. So no high heels, or mini dresses. I would suggest a light jacket or sweater since it's a little chilly first thing in the morning." Bea advised.
"Awwww Bay-Bea, but I was so totally planning on wearing my LBD and heels in the morning." Joe laughed out.
"Well, I’m not stopping you babe but, I meant more something along the style of casual gym attire." Bea smirked.
"Bold of you to assume that I don't wear mini dresses and heels to the gym." Rami joked.
The laughter that went around the table at Rami's joke eased the mood considerably and you couldn't help but laugh along with everyone else. Rami really was a funny guy.
"See Bay-Bea, Rami understands me." Joe chuckled.
"Fine. Wear what you want. Break an ankle or sustain any sort of injury and I will be pissed off Joseph. And for the love of God, you better not ruin any of my dresses in your attempt to be a clown." Bea scowled at him in her frustration.
Joe pouted and then leaned across the table toward you.
"Since I can't borrow Bea's, Princess can I borrow the black dress you're wearing tonight, for tomorrow morning?"
"Uhhh sure I guess Mozzarella. Not sure if it will fit you though, but I'd most certainly enjoy watching you try."
Joe dramatically clutched his chest .
"Gasssp are you? Are you calling me fat Y/N?!" he stuttered out so dramatically it would put any stage actor to shame.
"Oh stop it. Of course I'm not, it's just. You're taller than I am, and I don't want to see your twig and man berries falling out of my dress. Especially at the ass crack of dawn when I most likely haven't had my daily dose of caffeine yet. " you scoffed.
Bea literally spit out her wine all over the table, Rami choked on his tequila, Sami looked uncomfortable, and Joe's brother laughed so loudly it made you jump at the sudden loudness.
Joe pouted, but you knew it was all an act.
"I love you Joey baby. You're my squishy and I shall call you 'Squishy.'" Bea giggled as she poked Joe in the stomach.
"Bea, what did I say about pet names? " You gagged.
Joe looked so affronted,
"Babe.. Did you just? You just.. You called me fat?"
"No I called you my squishy." She retorted as she leant over to kiss his lips.
"Did you actually quote Finding Nemo Beatrice?" Rami asked.
"Indeed. A cinematic masterpiece. Fight me." Bea giggled again.
This caused another round of laughter to go around the table.
The waitress finally arrived to your table to take everyone's order. You couldn't help the random jealousy that was bubbling up in you as Rami seemed to openly and unashamedly flirt with her.
Once the waitress had everyone's order she disappeared and conversation resumed.
"So Joe, real quick question about the partnered activities, what if my partner isn't here yet?" his brother asked.
"If your partner is not available to assist you for any of the activities then we may have you grouped with another couple." Joe advised to the entirety of the dinner party.
"However, there will be no partner switching unless the activity calls for it." Joe continued as he addressed that last piece to you and Rami. You rolled your eyes in response and highly suspected that Rami was probably doing the same thing.
You barely heard any of the rest of the conversations because your mind was racing with thoughts of Rami. You had no clue where these thoughts were coming from and you weren't exactly pleased that they were occupying so much space in your brain. You cursed your brain and what you thought were long buried feelings you'd had for Rami.
You thought no one had noticed you staring at his reflection in the glass that was behind the opposite side of the table from you, until you noticed his eyes catch yours in the reflection. He gave you a smirk and attempted another wink, but boy, can he NOT wink properly. Still, you found it endearing and rather distracting.
"See something you like Y/N?" Rami suddenly spoke up, a little too loudly.
His voice broke your silent reverie and you almost jumped out of your skin. Feeling the eyes of everyone at the table back on you; your skin flushed a deep red in response. You were embarrassed for having gotten caught so you did the only thing you could think of in that moment; say something stupid.
"Awfully presumptuous of you to assume I was checking you out. I'm pretty sure I was staring at Sami's gorgeousness."
Ramis laugh was loud and infectious, Sami however, just cocked a brow and shook his head. .
"I know I'm gorgeous YN so thank you. I mean him and I are identical so wouldn't it be natural to just assume that I'd be considered as good looking as him?" Sami asks with a small smile and another casual shrug
.
"Without a doubt Sami, I think you are the better looking of the two of you actually. I mean Rami's smart but he memorizes words for a living, you Sami… you teach the words." you add, while watching Rami's mock outrage in the glass.
Rami opened his mouth to speak but closed it promptly once he realized the waitress was headed toward the table. Actually all conversation ceased when the waitress arrived with everyone's food. The sight of her openly flirting with Rami made your stomach start to turn, especially when he was just as flirty back. It made your stomach feel uneasy but you decided to tuck into your overpriced steak with gusto. You rationalize the fact that he's famous so the attention he receives shouldn't be unexpected but you can't figure out where the jealousy was coming from. He doesn't owe you loyalty and you don't him so why the jealousy?
After dinner, a few people ordered dessert but your uneasy stomach wouldn't allow anything rich to settle. You sat back an observed the occupants of the dinner party. Rami was eating a slice of cheesecake, while Bea was silently enjoying her chocolate cake and simultaneously scowling at Joe who was eating ice cream of all things.
"Joseph I swear, if you forgot your pills I will be NOT be listening to you complain all night during your self induced suffering on the porcelain throne."
"It's alright baby, I promise, I took them already." he beamed at her.
You laughed a little too loudly thanks to the copious amounts of alcohol you had consumed throughout the evening. Moments like these with Joe and Bea were so commonplace and had been happening since they started dating, what seems like a million years ago.
When the waitress came back to the table she handed everyone their individual bills but lingered near Rami. She smiled at him and tried to make casual conversation with him as he handed her his card. She frowned slightly but took it and walked around the table collecting everyone else's various forms of payment.
You noticed the slip sitting in front of Rami that was obviously from the waitress, it had a name and number scrawled in neat handwriting on it. The jealousy made your stomach ache and tears threaten to spill.
You pushed your chair back from the table quickly and took off back towards the elevator bank as fast as you possibly could. You could only pray to God that no one noticed the hot tears of jealousy that started to run down your face. You sure were glad you had decided to forgo makeup tonight but cursed your overly tired drunken brain and body.
Once you'd made it halfway to the elevators is when you remembered that you left your phone and room key on the table outside. No way in hell were you going back, but you angrily pressed the button to summon the elevator anyway.
"Well, shit." you muttered out loud.
You nearly jumped out of your skin when you heard a deep, familiar voice from behind you calling out your name.
"Y/N WAIT!!!"
You spun around to find Sami running toward you, holding your phone and key card in his hand.
"Hey, hun what's wrong?"
"Nothing other than the fact that I'm drunk, stupid and seriously jealous! ”
"Jealous? Of who? The waitress? If that's the case you don't need to be. Rami usually throws them away or puts them, oh God, he'd kill me for telling you this. But he puts some of them in a scrapbook. Once it's full he puts it away. It's weird, but I promise you, he NEVER calls them."
" Sure. Whatever. It's not like he owes me anything. You don't have to tell me all his secrets. I should have expected it since he is super famous now. I am also feeling guilty because I've handled the majority of this evening very poorly; no excuse for how much of a bitch I've been to him." You reasoned.
"He actually wanted to come and apologize to you for goading you all night, but I wouldn't let him. You know my brother better than you think you do, you understand that he's a really good guy. Even as kids though, Y/N, something about you brings out the best and worst in him. For all his intelligence sometimes my brother is a full fledged idiot. His observation skills are excellent unless it's you."
" I remember. I know. Jesus, I just… Ugh. I just.. Fuck Sami, I don't even.." you struggle to find the words you want to say but something about the look on Sami's face tell you that he can understand what you're trying and failing to communicate.
He just offers you a warm hug and a smile.
"It's alright YN. Oh, Bea and Joe were also really concerned for you after your abrupt departure, what do you want me to tell everyone?"
"Thanks Sami, I appreciate this. Just tell them I have a migraine and needed to lie down for a bit. Really Sami, thank you."
"You're very welcome and for the record he actually just burns the scrapbooks once they are full."
You can't help the giggle that comes out of you, because the thought of Rami having scrapbooks full of random phone numbers is hilarious, but the fact that he burns them; it's such a silly thing.
"Sam, I want to believe you about your brother, I just… Yeah… I just… Yeah… Pretty sure that he doesn't truly care, I don't think he ever did.I mean maybe it's the alcohol talking here but it's stupid to hold on to something for twenty years, isn't it? I don't truly believe he ever gave a shit about me. I have told myself he just wanted to pull a prank and I was obviously the easiest target."
Sami opened his mouth to say something at the exact moment a soft ding rang out and the doors to the elevator opened with a metallic whoosh. You stood slightly off to the side to allow the previous occupants to exit before stepping inside.
"Goodnight Sami." You smiled weakly at him.
"Goodnight Y/N."
He opened his mouth to say something, again, but the doors closed with a thud before he could get a word out.
"He likes you more than you can possibly understand." Sami muttered to himself as he began the walk back towards the dinner party.
Once the elevator stopped on your floor, you let out a frustrated sigh. For some reason you really wanted to cry. Something about Rami has always drawn you to him, like a moth to a flame, yet also made you despise him at the same time, and you've never understood why.
Once back in your room you threw yourself onto the bed and screamed into one of the pillows. You laid there staring at the ceiling for a while before drifting off to sleep because when you opened your eyes again it was pitch dark outside and in your room. You couldn't get over the overwhelming feelings of frustration, so you got up and headed out to your balcony. Maybe some fresh air would help.
"Why do I feel cursed?" You pondered out loud, to no one.
"Ever thought that maybe you are?" Came a familiar deep drawling voice on the balcony next door.
Your head whipped around to find Rami casually leaning against the railing of his balcony smoking a cigarette looking, quite frankly, like… sex on legs. The dim light of the balcony cast a halo around his curls. You smiled to yourself at how devilishly handsome he looked in that moment. It should be a sin to look so good, his shirt was completely unbuttoned, untucked and the belt missing from his pants. A cigarette hung from his soft lips as he stared at you, half lidded eyes glistening in the moonlight. You wanted to jump across the balcony and beg him to ravish you like some character from a cheesy Harlequin historical romance. For a moment your eyes meet his and he gave another one of his famous smirks that left your knees weak. You caught sight of his beautiful hands holding his cigarette as he took another drag and then slowly exhaled the gray smoke into the night sky. You shake your head and avert your gaze skyward, trying to empty your head of that particular line of thinking.
"I know I am." He spoke softly.
"Curses are nonsense, superstition and I personally don't believe in them at all."
"Maybe you should start Y/N. In the belief of curses you may find some answers that you may never have believed you were looking for. "
"Why would I do that? And what mystical answers do you think I may possibly be looking for?"
"Maybe there are forces in play that you don't understand. That hell, most of us don't understand. But don't discount the power of believing and the power of a kind of magic. You ever have that feel like you're drawn to someone but can't understand why?"
"Now you are talking absolute crazy Rami. Maybe the answer lies in a simple truth. Attraction. Want. Need. I don't know. Maybe it's just the brain tricking you into believing an illusion. Maybe the answer is just lust." you stated before heading back into your room and slamming the balcony door shut a little more forcefully than intended.
"Oh Y/N, if only you knew. You're my curse as I am yours." Rami quietly uttered before tossing the remainder of his cigarette into the makeshift ashtray on the patio table.
You threw yourself back down onto your bed with a heavy sigh. You had no idea how Rami could go from being a complete prick to whatever that hell that just was; shaking your head because he actually wasn't being a prick, he was just being Rami. You tried to turn on the TV for whatever late night bullshit would be playing but found nothing satisfactory. You picked up your phone and tried scrolling through your various social media apps but still nothing caught your interest. Your mind was swirling with too many thoughts that were leaving you feeling a number of ways. God, how can that man leave you feeling so irritated and horny at the same time?
Deciding to give up on trying to distract yourself, you aimed for sleep. With your mind still swirling with visions of Rami looking like a disheveled sex God, along with thoughts of curses, sleep managed to find you all too easily. You gave into the tug willingly as you felt yourself go under its spell.
Two days since the unexpected happened and here you were about to make love to him for the first time. Two days since you were told the story of his family curse, which isn't really a curse to you, more of a blessing. And two days of being invisibly tied to the man you've known since you had turned eighteen, was the only man you've ever wanted.
Warm and safe, with your hand still stuck in your soon to be lovers as he gently guides you down onto his bed. Fear, excitement, and lust coursing through your body, you can't wait for what's to come. It had been a long two days of preparing for this exact moment. The moment of complete soul bonding. The moment when both of you would finally be able to physically claim each other as your own, which would release your temporary invisible bindings, but would leave a permanent physical mark as a reminder as well as the permanent markings on your souls.
You look up into those beautiful eyes of his, darkened with lust in the low light of his bedchamber. His olive skin appearing a glowing gold as he positioned himself between your thighs.
"I've never done this before." you murmured, heart pounding with excitement and nervousness.
"I know Y/N, but I would never intentionally hurt you. You are my soulmate, the one made just for me just as I was for you."
"I love you, I have my whole life even if I never understood it, please just love me now." You begged, as you felt his hard member against your thigh.
"Always." He moaned out as he slowly pushed into you.
You cried out at the sudden burning, stretching pain that shot through you, but once he was fully inside of you; his hips stilled waiting for you to get used to the feel of him for the first time. After a few moments the painful feeling passed and feeling brave you bucked your hips against his as you moaned at the sudden pleasure the movement brought.
"Oh my love you feel so good." he murmured against your neck as he slowly began to move, his damp curls clinging to his forehead.
If you hadn't been unable to use your hands because they were still locked together, you would have clawed at his back urging him to continue moving.
"Please. Please. Love me." you whined out, your eyes meeting his.
Your lips crashed together with a passion you've only heard whispers of until now.
You wrapped your legs around his waist which changed the position of your hips into one allowing him deeper access to all of you. You were panting and moaning with every movement of his hips against yours, and it wasn't long before you felt an unfamiliar feeling beginning to form in your belly. Before you could register what was happening, you were seeing stars as you began screaming out his name.
"Oh my love. My love. I love you, I love you, I love you." He cried out before you felt his hot seed painting your inner walls.
It was shortly after that you realized that you were able to pull your hands apart, but you both chose not to. Instead, you chose to stay as you were, all wrapped up in skin.
"I love you Y/N. I have for years and will always. When our time on this earth ends just know my soul will always find yours in every life after this one."
You smiled against his warm skin as you readjusted your positions in bed, never letting go of each other's hands.
"I love you too. Forever and always."
You awoke with a start, heart pounding and with a dull aching wet feeling between your thighs. Awareness of your surroundings left you feeling confused momentarily as you had just been in some ancient place that you were unfamiliar with. You could still smell the incense, fire, and sweat mingled with the unmistakable scent of sex. Hell, if you were honest you could almost still feel your dream lovers cum between your legs, slicking your thighs and the weight of his body still on top of yours.
Confusion wracked your brain at the realization that the man who had just made love to you in your dream, you were more than certain was Rami. The thought was a little disconcerting, especially because you've never recalled ever having a wet dream like that before. Everything felt so vivid and real.
This isn't the first time you've a Rami centric dream, for as long as you could remember, at least once a year you've had vivid dreams where he was the main star. Your Rami dreams only became more intense after your eighteenth birthday.
Feeling restless you decided to take a shower and afterwards decided to go for a little walk in the gardens of the hotel. Once again you felt like a little fresh air might help you clear your head.
THE PRESENT
"Rami, seriously what the hell is going on? What do you mean 'I'm stuck with you'?" the tears that had formed moments ago began to fall down your cheeks.
You look back and forth between the two brothers, neither willing to meet your gaze.
"Sami why do your brother and I need to talk? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SOMEONE START GIVING ME SOME INFORMATION NOWWWW!" you yelled through the tears.
Rami tried to pull you into a hug to offer comfort but you pushed him away. He chuckles again before quietly suggesting that the two of you go into one of your rooms. You nodded slowly in understanding before reaching into your bra with your free hand to remove your card key.
"Hey you two just remember that if you need some more information mom's room is just down the hall. You could always go talk to her." Sami states.
"Not now Sam, it's almost two in the morning but if Y/N has further questions we'll go talk to her. I'm pretty sure that I know all the pertinent information. You should try and get more sleep we'll see you in the morning." Rami addressed his brother, before following you into your room.
As soon as the door slammed shut, you whirled around on Rami aggressively,
" Look, I'm fucking tired and I'm irritated so just tell me why the fuck my hand is stuck in yours!"
"This isn't a quick story Y/N, it is going to take some time to tell, and you may have additional questions. So, you might want to try to get comfortable."
"No! Not until you give me some answers! Fuck, just.. just give me the cliff notes version then..." you demanded with narrowed eyes.
"Short version Y/N, I'm your soulmate and you are mine. Remember when I told you earlier that I was cursed?"
You nod for a moment, recalling the details of the conversation that happened a few short hours ago. The confusion must have been evident on your face because Rami reached up to cup your cheek. You pushed him away just as a laughing fit hit you.
"Insanity. That's what this is, it's insanity. Jesus, I'm losing my fucking mind. If I pinch myself I'll wake up from this-this whatever the hell this is." You laughed out, unable to hold back, the laughter not subsiding until your sides hurt and tears were streaming down your face.
Once you calmed down from your laughing fit, you looked up at Rami's face and found it looking rather serious.
"Rami please tell me this is a joke?!"
"No. This is not a joke. I wanted to tell you about this before we found ourselves in this situation, but, here we are. Y/N, this is in fact very real. You need to listen to me now, because if certain things don't happen within a certain time period, one or both of us may die. This is a curse that has plagued my family for thousands of years."

*also happy birthday to this cinnamon roll and Sami, I can’t believe they’re 38 wtfffff*
Things were getting heated. Our breathing heavy as our bodies move together, his thrusting forward and mine practically bouncing up the sheets from the sheer force. Hands mapping out every dip, crevice and indent of each other’s bodies. He moans into my ear, voice deep and laced with passion and lust, sending shivers down my spine as it rumbles through me. We forget where we are, I can only focus on him as his lips trail down my neck, teeth nibbling every so often. I moan out his name, hands gripping onto his broad shoulders as tightly as I can, legs wrapping around his waist.
“And cut!”
The voice cuts through the world Rami and I have lost ourselves in as we remember where we are, what we’re doing. We untangle ourselves from each other, never actually having been connected in the first place, just acting as if we had been. I feel a flush come across my cheeks, suddenly becoming very aware of how enthusiastic I had been despite nothing actually happening.
“That was great you guys,” The director smiles at us, completely unaware of the sexual tension that lies thick between his two brilliant show puppets, “That’s a wrap for the day, thank you.”
Rami’s gone before I can so much as force a smile and congratulate him on yet another great scene. I watch his retreating form, trying desperately not to moan out loud at the way the muscles on his back shift as he shucks on a robe, walking swiftly to his trailer.
I sigh, running my hands through my hair before accepting the robe my assistant hands to me, suddenly very aware of my state of undress. I get up on shaky legs, swearing to myself under my breath to get a grip already. It’s not like I haven’t done sex scenes before. I’ve done my fair share and none of them ever felt me feeling like this. I focus on my feet as I walk away from the set in the general direction of the trailers and I groan inwardly. Curse Rami Malek for being so goddamn gorgeous.
I can’t help but wonder why he’d run off so quickly. Rami and I were friends. Well, as much as friends as co-workers could be I guess. We’d go out after a long day of shooting with the rest of the cast and have a few drinks. In fact, we’d had plans for tonight after the shoot to get pizza. I stop in front of his trailer, which is just a few away from mine, figuring he probably forgot about our plans and I’d just remind him.
Without thinking, I swing open the door to his trailer and let myself in, like I’ve done so many times before. The words are on the tip of my tongue, hey rami, still up for pizza in a bit? But they quickly disappear at the sight before me.
Rami sits on his couch, robe tossed to the side and boxers barely pushed out of the way, just down enough that he could get a hand on himself. My mouth goes dry at the sight of him, he’s gorgeous. His head is thrown back, pulling in gasps of air as his hips fuck into the loose hold of his hand. His free hand slides down his body, snaking down to grip the cushion beneath him.
He lets out a low moan and I feel the arousal that’s pooled in my stomach increase. If the moans he was letting out on set were hot, these were absolutely intoxicating. I’m overwhelmed with the want to hear him say my name in the midst of beautiful moans. Luckily, I don’t have to wait long.
“Y/n,” he sighs, “fuucck.”
Before I can stop myself, words tumble from my mouth. I couldn’t even tell you what they are, something about holy shit, but at the sound of my voice, Rami scrambles. He grabs a pillow to cover himself, eyes wide in a panic, flush high on his cheekbones. His mouth moves silently, trying to find the words to say as we stare at each other.
“How long have you been standing there?” He finally gets out, avoiding my gaze.
I shrug, finding myself unable to answer his question. I mean, it’s not like it even mattered. We both knew what was happening and we both knew the effect our scene had on him.
“Is this why you ran off so quickly?” I ask quietly.
He nods stiffly, still avoiding my eyes. I want to pounce on him, to tackle him into the couch and ride him until I see stars. But I can’t. Or rather, I won’t. I force myself to move slowly, going to sit next to him on the couch, loving the way his eyes watch me with a confused sort of heat.
“Y’know,” I start, my voice low and sultry, “I was on my way to my trailer and do the exact same thing.”
And then his lips are on mine, pillow long forgotten as his hands find me and all but drag me to straddle his lap. I kiss him back enthusiastically, letting out little moans into his mouth as he works on pushing my robe off of my shoulders and onto to floor, leaving me bare except for a pair of soft cotton panties
“You have no idea,” he says in between kisses, voice low and rough, “how long I’ve wanted to do this for.”
I laugh breathlessly against his lips, grinding my hips down and moaning when his erection rubs against my clothed pussy, “Likewise.”
He wastes no time, fingers dragging underneath the waistband of the material of my underwear and pulling them down my legs, helping me maneuver them off my body, simultaneously shucking off his boxers the rest of the way.
His lips trail down my neck, sucking softly at the sensitive skin he finds there, relishing in the soft moans I let out. My hands paw and grasp at his chest, shoulders, neck, anywhere they can get a hold of. My fingers threading through the short hairs at the back of his neck, encouraging his every move.
“The next time we do this,” he starts, staring up at my with blown-wide pupils that glimmer almost dangerously, hands moving up and down the curve of my spine sensually, “I am going to take my time,” he places a nibbling kiss against my jaw, “I’ll eat you out,” Another, wetter, kiss against my skin, “spend hours learning how to drive you crazy,” he promises, one hand moving to my hip while the other moves to line himself up, rubbing the tip of his cock against my folds teasingly, “But I need you. Now.”
I barely get out a moan at his words before he’s lowering me down onto his cock, feeling him fill me inch by inch. My fingers dig into his shoulders, a moan leaving my lips when I’m fully seated. I can feel every ridge and vein of him inside me, gasping when the shifting of his hips pushes himself even deeper.
I can’t wait for him, I start rolling my hips almost immediately, desperate to feel him moving inside of me. He follows my lead, beginning to thrust up into me, his hands gripping my hips tightly.
“Shit,” He moans almost desperately, “Fuck, you feel so good.”
I moan in agreement, beginning to bounce quickly on his cock. We’re not fucking around, I know we’re both desperate for that white-hot, sweet release. Our bodies move in a sweet and effortless push and pull, leaving me breathless and begging for more. On every thrust down his cock hits my g-spot near perfectly, my nails digging into his shoulders helplessly as my head rolls back.
“Fuck, Rami.” I breathe helplessly, no longer having the ability to articulate my feelings.
“Mmm, like that?” He asks deeply, leaning down to nibble on my collarbone, “like how nice and deep I am inside you?”
His words rip an obscene moan out of my throat, one of my hands going to grip his hair to hold him in place while I ride him in oblivion. He chuckles darkly at my response.
“Yeah, that’s it.” He encourages, “Ride me so good, baby. Fuck, so good.”
His hands are gripping me harder with every passing moment and I can see him losing himself in the pleasure. His brows are drawn in, furrowed as he watches in between our bodies where he disappears inside me. He sucks his lower lip into his mouth with a soft whine before it drops open.
“Baby,” he moans and wow I could get used to him calling me that, “fuck, I’m close. You gonna cum for me?”
I nod, feeling my orgasm building up at the base of my spine. Fumbling, I grab his wrist, bringing his hand down to my clit, “Please.”
Without hesitation, his fingers begin to rub my clit in small, fast circles that send me hurtling towards the edge, “Rami-” I whine, feeling myself slip.
“Yeah,” he encourages, nibbling on my ear “cum for me.”
My orgasm hits me, back arching and nails dragging down his back as the pleasure washes over me. He lets me ride out my orgasm, grunting lowly at every convulsion that ripples through me. I don’t know how long I sit there, in my post orgasm bliss, before he starts to whine.
Taking the hint, I lift myself off of him and settle onto my knees on the trailer floor in front of him. I don’t waste another second, knowing how desperately he needs this, taking him into my mouth. He head drops back as I take him as deep as I can without gagging. A hand come to grip at my hair, simultaneously keeping it out of my face and using it to guide me. It doesn’t take long before he’s there.
“God, I’m gonna-” He whines, tugging me off his cock and using his other hand to pump himself to completion. He cums with a low groan, hips fucking into his own hand, strips of it landing in my awaiting mouth, chin and neck. As he comes down I make a show of cleaning up the cum that landed anywhere other than my mouth with a finger and sucking it clean. At the sight, he lets out a defeated moan.
“You’ll be the death of me.” He sighs, pulling me back up onto the couch to kiss me. He pulls a blanket on top of both of us, shielding us from the cold air that bites at our overheated skin.
I close my eyes, basking in the post-sex feeling I’ve come to love so much. When I open them again, I find his eyes on my neck and exposed collarbone, finger tracing the marks he left there.
“The makeup department is going to be so pissed.” He says softly, eyes sparkling with amusement and mischief.

Wicked Dreams
Part Two Warnings: Drinking, drug use, smoking, cursing @triplehaitches @knightwhosaysnii @prettysureimgayxo @carmineharry The drive to Los Angeles was fucking terrible. I almost ripped my hair out, you try cramping into a single cab truck with four guys and all of your band equipment stuffed in the back. “Land, oh my god! Sweet, sweet land!” I praised as I was the first one to pretty much jump out while it was still rolling. We were stopped at the motel, it was about two hours before getting to our audition. “Oh, fuck off. My driving wasn’t that bad.” Alex responded with a roll of his eyes whilst helping Ryder start grabbing everything from the back. It was terrible. We almost died nearly nine fucking times. He got such bad road rage crossing the state line that I made him pull over so I could drive. “Uh, yeah it was.” Walking over to Sami, I grabbed a cigarette from his pack and quickly lit it. Alex didn’t allow us to smoke in his truck because it was his ‘baby’. I inhaled deeply before exhaling, “So, game plan?” “What do you mean game plan? We put our bags in our rooms, grab some food and go over the song we want to play. And then pray to Satan they pick us.” Ryder said while handing me my bag, I slung it over my shoulder and started walking towards the front door. We spent the next hour getting ready and arguing over which song to play, I eventually won by a game of rock, paper, scissors. I was the master, they couldn’t beat my skills of persuasion. At least that’s what I liked to tell myself. Being where I’m from, what I actually liked to wear was frowned upon so for me, it was mainly plain jeans and tee shirts. But today we were meeting Motley fuckin’ Crue. So of course, I had to look at least a little punk rock. I only glammed myself up for work, and that’s because I was a bartender at Trees in Dallas. The hotter you are, the better the tips. But other than that, I couldn’t give two fucks. Right now, I was having a bit of a dilemma. I gazed at the two outfits I had sprawled across the bed in my room. Hm, lace top with leather pants, or ripped jeans with leather bralette? Ah, the joys of being a lady. “Leather pants, definitely.” I heard a voice and it was my cousin, Sami. I nodded without responding and folded the other clothes, putting them back in my bag. Sitting down and letting out a nervous breath, I took a drink out of my flask with shaking hands. “Hey, I’m nervous too.” Sami shrugged his shoulders while coming to sit down next to me, “But check this out, you have been through so much and you came out of it better than before. Not to mention you’ll have your totally cool and badass of a cousin there to have your back.” I couldn’t help but laugh, it was true. There’s been so much shit in my life that I doubted myself on a daily basis. I knew we were good, I knew I was talented, but another part of me just sat there wondering if it was enough. “Thank you, you are pretty cool. But I will never admit I said that, ever.” I responded with a sarcastic tone before shoving his shoulder, “Alright, now get out. And please change that shirt. There’s a fucking stain on it.” “Yes, mom.” He retorted before getting up and bolting out childishly. After struggling to get my thighs into the leather pants, I yanked them up to my waist and tied the string together. Slipping into my lucky bra, and then pulling the lace top over my head, it barely covered my stomach and normally it made me feel weird but I admit, I looked pretty cute. Sitting down, I slid on my old, dirty and very beat up combat boots. They were being held together with tape, but I didn’t care. They were my mother’s and it may sound stupid, but I felt closer to her when I wore them. And today, I needed all of the comforts I could get. I left my hair down, in its natural state, wavy and a little tangled. After doing my makeup and finishing off with burgundy lipstick, I made sure my eyeliner wasn’t smudged. “Your eyes are the prettiest things I’ve ever seen like I’m looking into two blue deep pools and I’m drowning in them.” My mother used to tell me that, and when I got older and started wearing makeup, they did pop out more. Taking a few deep breaths, I stepped out of my room and met the guy’s at the front. “Oh my god, Lucy actually has a body under her usual rags.” Alex was joking, but the look I gave him made him stop laughing real quick. “Well, let’s get this done.” I was enthusiastic, I was. But I didn’t want to get my hopes up too soon. - Here we were, at the studio. I finished my cigarette before taking three gulps of Beam that was in my flask before shoving it down in my boot. A man with slicked-back hair and a dimpled grin stepped outside the building along with a tall and lanky fellow beside him. “Hello, you must be the band from Texas, right? I’m Doc, the manager and this is Tom, our producer.” “Please to meet you.” We exchanged handshakes and names all before heading inside, unloading our gear. “We do have equipment here, you guys didn’t have to bring your own.” We all kinda just looked at him. I don’t know about the guys but my guitar was my baby, her name was Stella. She was a dark red Dean Vendetta XMT with Tremolo. My mom got it for me on our last Christmas together. I wouldn’t touch any other guitar. “We don’t mind,” I told him as I followed behind Ryder before stepping into the small room. Whoa, we’ve never been in an actual studio before. And across the room were four men sitting around, talking and laughing. I didn’t know rather introduce ourselves first or start setting up. Apparently, Ryder had the right idea. “Hey, I’m Ryder. I’m the drummer.” Since when was he the talkative one? “What’s up, dude! Me too!” Tommy yelled excitedly while standing up, and instead of a handshake, he honestly pulled him into a hug and I could tell this was a start of a bromance, even if we didn’t get the slot. “These are my bandmates, Nikki, Vince, and Mick,” Tommy told us like we didn’t already know. “Hey, guys. Oh, sorry, this is our guitarist, Lucy.” Ryder said while wrapping an arm around my shoulder to kind of push me forward. I was a little in shock, to say the least. He pinched me and I came back to reality. Tommy immediately gave me a hug too, “Nice to meet ya! How ‘bout I step out and help the rest and introduce myself?” “Oh you don’t-” But before I could finish my sentence he had already jogged out the door. “I’m Vince, and let me guess, your name is Gorgeous,” Vince said while staring me up and down, I seized the moment, too. “Lucy Gorgeous. Nice ring to it.” I said with a dramatic hair flip. He only grinned, “It’s nice to meet you.” My stomach was flipping when Mick stood up to shake my hand. He was my hero, my fucking idol. “Oh my god, you are my favorite musician, I absolutely adore the way you play.” Mick gave me a small but stern looking smile, probably because my hand was still latched to his like a weirdo. “Oh, sorry!” I laughed it off and quickly withdrew my hand. “I appreciate the compliment, thank you. And I’m looking forward to hearing you play.” He said before settling back down with a small grunt. Nikki hadn’t gotten up from his seat or even acknowledge that I was there. He was face deep on a dish, doing a line of coke. “Hi, Nikki. I’m Lucy, the guitarist for my band.” I said while I approached him, holding my hand out. “Oh, hey, sorry.” He eventually looked up and set the dish down to the side, he was silent for a second before reaching forward and shaking my hand, “I hope you play as good as you look.” He told me before letting go. I didn’t know whether to take that as a compliment or an insult. - After getting all set up, we were about ready to play. I was tuning my strings while my hands keep shaking, I almost dropped my pick. But I knew that once I started playing, I would feel better. Glancing up and tapping my mic for a second before looking at my guys’, then looking forward to the six men that were standing behind the glass waiting. Alex felt the need to pronounce us. “We’re System Insomniac, and this song is called Burn it To The Ground. I hope y’ all enjoy.” (Basing the band’s songs off of song Nickelback and a few other band’s concepts pls don’t judge and just pretend it was during that era because I love the guitar solos and riffs.) They then nodded at me, and I started without hesitation with the beginning. Being followed by Ryder on the drums, then Sami on his bass. It sounded so much better in here, I swear I orgasmed. “Well it’s midnight, damn right, we’re wound up too tight, I’ve got a fistful of whiskey, the bottle just bit me. Ooohhhh! That shit makes me batshit crazy! We got no fear, no doubt, all in balls out! Mmmm, we’re going out tonight! Hey! To kick out every light! Hey! Take anything we want, Drink everything in sight! We’re going till the world stops turning, While we burn it to the ground tonight!” Alex’s deep voice boomed through the entire room, it gave me chills. I continued my playing and just got completely lost in the song before stepping forward to start my solo, and I forgot where I was. I forgot what we were doing, I was just there, killing it on my guitar and feeling every single chord I strung with my pick. I don’t know about my mates, but I think it was the same with them. It wasn’t until I was almost finished with my solo, and Alex kind of pushed me forward to sing the bridge. My voice rang through as loud and clear as I could make it, “Tickin’ like a time bomb, drinkin’ till the night’s gone, Well get your hands off this glass, last call my ass. Weelll, no train, no lock, this train won’t stop. We got no fear, no doubt, all in, balls out!” Alex chimed in and sang the last line of the bridge with me before taking back over where I stepped off to the side to finish off the song with the last part of the chorus. With the ending, Ryder and I finished off the song while Sami nailed the last string on his bass. We stood there breathing kind of uneasily, both from nervousness and how much energy we put into our performance. We stood there in silence before Tommy busted through the door that separated the two parts of the room clapping, “Fuck yeah! That rocked! Finally, a band that doesn’t suck ass dude!” Alex and Tommy high fived. I smiled to myself before pulling my strap off of my shoulders and moving to set her gently into her case. It was ultimately up to Doc and Tom but the band liked us, I overheard remnants of a conversation Doc and Alex were having. I still didn’t know if we got the slot, and to ease my nerves, I tugged my flask from my boot and took a swig from it. I felt a pair of eyes on me, turning around while wiping my chin a little and screwing the cap back on, “Sorry.” I shrugged. It was Nikki. “That stuff will kill ya.” He commented while taking a swig from his Daniels bottle, “But it tastes so good.” He eventually said with a laugh, “Hell, yes it does.” I agreed while heading out the door, Nikki followed behind shortly. “You’re pretty good, for a chick.” He told me while I was in the middle of lighting a cigarette, “The highest of compliments.” I retorted and rolled my eyes. Just because I was a girl, doesn’t mean I didn’t know what the fuck I was doing. Music has been everything to me and it always will be. “So, do you think we got the slot?” I asked him, and he was about to answer before a certain blonde appeared beside me with an arm slung around my shoulder, “What the fuck do you think?” “I think that we drove 19 hours straight cramped in a truck, and running on like an hour of sleep, and all the while this was insane, and as much as we love you guys, a simple yes or no would suffice,” I said while taking a drag, glaring at Nikki while he pulled it from my fingers and took a few puffs himself. “He means yes, you guys got the slot.” Nikki told me while staring directly into my eyes, “We leave in two weeks.” I hadn’t responded and accidentally burned myself because I was in complete shock. I had no words. “Ow!” I yelped, and this dark haired fucker was smirking. “Suck a cock,” I mumbled to him before walking out to find the rest of my band. “Feisty, I like you already!” I heard him yell. I didn’t know how to register but this was our fucking moment.

Chapter 4: The Woman In The Way
Reader is confronted by Finn who wonders where she has been. He invites her to dinner to meet his new girlfriend. How well could this go?
Warnings: This chapter introduces Cathy Kelley. THIS IS FICTION, everything depicted here is made up for the sake of the story.
________________________________________________________________
Until the day I die I'll spill my heart for you, for you Until the day I die I'll spill my heart for you
I hopped down from my chin up bar. On the weekends I worked out at home in my gym I outfitted in my garage. It was simplistic but had everything I needed. A bench, free weights, a cable system, chin up bar and interlocking mats that covered the floor. I had weight balls, resistance bands, jump ropes, pretty much anything I needed for making the most of my workouts here.
To be honest, it was hard to use the gym at work recently. I still love my job, but when I get there I usually run right up to my office. I didn’t want to see him. He was still in the area pretty frequently since he was still rehabbing, but I’ve been avoiding him. I stopped taking as many of his calls, I avoided going downstairs at the PC, I ignored some of his texts, as many as I could get away with. I didn’t know what to say to him. I was devastated. I’m not even sure why. We never made anything official. We never talked about how we felt, so why couldn’t he go find someone else. There was nothing keeping him from doing it.
“Who you mad at”
I stopped wiping my face with my towel and looked up facing the wall. You, I thought, what the hell is he doing here? He just shows up here unannounced now? This isn’t helping with my ignoring game. Just turn around Y/N, just turn around and put that fake ass smile on your face.
“What makes you think I’m mad?” I turned around slowly to face him. My breath hitched in my throat. I haven’t seen him in person in months. I studied his face for a minute. He was the same he always was, maybe even more handsome if that was even possible.
“You only workout to this music when you’re pissed and taking it out on your workouts” He chuckled at the thought.
“I’m fine, what are you doing here” I cut off his laugh with a sharp tone.
“I miss you, you barely talk to me, you avoid me at the PC, I knew you’d be here so I had to just take a chance and come by” He explained as he rubbed his hand on the back of his neck, unsure of how I would react.
“Well, I’m just trying to give you and your girlfriend some space” I spat out while I turned around back to my cables. I shouldn’t have said that. why the hell did you say that Y/N, we were playing stupid to the situation and now you just threw it out there? But those pictures... they were enough confirmation to know it was real. At least for me.
More pictures had surfaced. Pictures of them at basketball games together in Brooklyn, of them together backstage at events. I’ve even heard rumors that he lives part-time with her in Brooklyn.
“Oh, well that’s insane Y/N. Just because I’m dating someone doesn’t mean I don’t have time for my best friend”
He said it. He just confirmed my worst nightmare. Dating. He’s dating her. Does he tell her he loves her too? Or was that just something he told girls he never intended to pursue.
“Well I know sometimes girlfriends don’t like when girl friends are still hanging around,” I said back, in a tone barely audible. I tried not to let him know I was completely crushed.
“Well, I want you around Y/N. You’re my best friend, anyone who can’t get behind that isn’t worth having around. Why don’t you give her a chance to know you? Maybe we could go out to dinner tonight. I can call Sami if you want so it isn’t awkward” He suggested.
Oh yeah, because that's what I want. To sit across from the guy I’m crazy about and listen to his girlfriend blabber on all night while he smiles and laughs at her stupid jokes
But I didn’t say that. I didn’t say anything. I just nodded my head and gave him the fakest half-hearted smile I could muster.
“I’ll text you the details after I talk to Sami,” He said as he came closer to me. He pulled me in and hugged me. God, I missed his hugs, being in his arms was my favorite place to be. He always smells so good. I want to stay like this forever.
But we didn’t, he dropped the hug and turned and walked out of my garage. I watched him walk away as a tear welled up in my eye. Was it from sadness or anger, I wasn’t sure. But I knew one thing. I was not looking forward to tonight.
____________________________
My doorbell rang around 7.
“Be right there!” I yelled towards the door as I hurried down the stairs. It was Sami. He grabbed us an uber and was here to pick me up. I unlocked the door and opened it.
“Hey, you” I smiled at Sami. I missed him, besides Fergal he was my closest friend. But he was called up to the main roster a while ago and he travels a lot more now. It’s a huge treat when he’s back in town and we always try to make the best of it.
“Get over here you beautiful woman” He smiled back and pulled me into a huge hug. He gave the best hugs a girl could ask for when her heart is broken into a million pieces. “I missed you Y/N/N”
“I missed you too bud” I needed this. I needed my friend to just give me a hug and make me forget for a second what I am about to be put through. I was not happy about this situation, but Finn is my best friend even through all of this and I missed him more than anything. If going to this dinner meant seeing him, it was worth it.
Sami pulled back and grabbed my hand “Give me a little spin, let’s see what we’re going to make Ferg jealous with tonight”
I smirked. Did he know? There’s no way he knew how I felt about Finn. I never told anyone.
“You don't play it off well Y/N/N. But don’t worry, I didn’t spill your secret to him” Sami assured me.
I didn’t know what to say to him. I almost felt relieved that someone knew how hard this would be for me, but I also felt so dumb. Was it written all over my face?
I gave a quick spin for Sami. He was always so proud to have me on his arm. He wasn’t interested in me that way at all, but he still loved to show me off.
“Damn, yeap this will do” Sami said while extending his arm for me to grab as he leads me towards the uber.
“Thanks, Sami. Thank you for coming tonight. I don’t think I could do this without you” I thanked Sami as I gave his arm a light squeeze.
Sami looked over at me and smiled.
___________________________________
When we pulled up to the front of the restaurant Sami quickly got out so he could come around and open my door. So chivalry isn’t dead I joked to myself. I stepped out and again returned my hand to Sami’s arm as he led the way in. I looked up at the sign Kres Chophouse damn this place is pricey. He must really be trying to impress her, it’s far from the dive bars we used to spend hours laughing in.
Sami checked in with the hostess and we were led towards the table that the happy couple was already waiting at. I took a deep breath, squeezed Sami’s arm slightly and tried to ready myself for this moment.
When we got to the table Sami was, of course, the first to greet everyone, as he usually is. He shook Finn’s hand and gave Cathy a hug. Cathy wasn’t new to anyone in the WWE. She is a backstage interviewer for NXT and does a lot of their on-air announcements for social media. I looked at my competition for the evening. She had the biggest smile I had ever seen on someone, full of big bright white teeth. She was tall, taller than me at least, she was flawless. I turned to give Finn a hug and gave Cathy one of those hugs where you really just want to throw up during it. But, I was here because Ferg wanted me to, so I had to play nice.
“Have you guys been here long?” Sami finally broke the awkward silence
“No, we were just seated right before you got here, haven’t even ordered our drinks yet,” Cathy said. Cathy loves to talk, I mean it is her job. But that laugh. That laugh made me want to dig knives into my ears.
Just then the waitress approached and started with Cathy to order drinks. She ordered a glass of red wine. Classy, I thought. Is she going to order a salad for dinner too?
As it became my turn, the two guys I spent more time with than my own family spoke over me
“Shot of patron and an Aperol Spritz,” they both said in unison, looking at each other and laughing as they said it.
“Oh, they think they know me so well.... but yes that’s what I would like please,” I said as I shot them both a devilish smile.
I could tell out of the corner of my eye that Cathy found my order un-ladylike. But I’m at dinner with my two best friends, I’m going to order what I want. Take me or leave me. I’ll probably even get dessert.
_________________________________
Dinner was fine, filled with small talk to keep from the awkward silence becoming too evident, mostly by Cathy, who I swear thinks she is the funniest person in the world and that everyone else is freaking hilarious. I was trying my best to be polite all evening. I was miserable. The way she kept her hand on his lap the whole night just bothered me. Get your hands off of him. Why are you even here again?
But I couldn't help but notice he wouldn’t stop staring at me. Unless Cathy turned and looked at him, then he would break his stare, but when she wasn’t he was looking at me. Why does he do this to me? Am I supposed to act like I don’t see this happening right now? Should I just not look at him? I’m going to look at him, he has to stop this. His girlfriend is right there.
I turned my gaze to look at Finn, but he didn’t stop. He just made even more eye contact. Like he was trying to read my mind. What did he hope to find in there? Isn’t this what he wanted, for us to all have dinner? It’s almost like he’s the one who doesn’t want to be here. Was he hoping I wouldn’t show?
____________________________________
Dinner ended and we said our goodbyes as Sami and I headed towards our uber.
“You did a great job tonight Y/N,” Sami said, assuring me that I held myself together.
“Thanks, Sami”, I said as a tear formed in my eye
Sami reached his arm out and pulled me into his side as we rode back to my house. He knew that was hard for me. It would be hard for anyone in my position.
When I stepped out of the uber at my house and said bye to Sami my phone started to buzz. It was a text
You are still the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on. Thank you for coming out tonight. Please don’t ghost me again, you are the most important person in my life and I won’t lose you
If I’m so important, why are you with her?

The best thing - Rami Malek Imagine
Requested: No
Warnings: Fluff and cute Rami!
Word Count: 2172
~~~~~
''There's is your baby'' The doctor said as she pointed to the tiny human on the screen. I smiled and I felt Rami squeeze my hand. We've been ogether for 3 years now, but a baby wasn't exactly planned. I was 29 and Rami is 37, but still we haven't planned it. Still, we couldn't be more happier. I looked at Rami, and I swear I saw tears glinstering in his eyes.
''Would you like to know the gender?'' She smiled and we nodded. She moved again, and stopped, turning to look at us.
''You two are having a beautiful baby girl, congratulations!'' She beamed and wiped my 22 weeks old belly off. A girl! Rami and I always wanted a girl, but a boy is also welcome The most important thing is that the baby is healthy.
''A girl'' Rami whispered. I looked at him, and saw he had his eyes glued to the screen. I smiled and cupped his cheek, stroking it. He looked at me, and bend down to press a kiss on my lips. He pulled away, and pressed his forehead on mine.
''I love you'' He whispered. I smiled and pecked his lips.
''I love you too'' I said and he kissed my bump, before sitting back down. The doctor came back, and she handed me the ultrasound. I looked at it, as Rami got a text, probaly from one of the boys. Rami had to go shoot a couple of scenes today at Bohemian Rhapsody, and I decided to tag along, to tell the great news. The boys and lucy didn't know we were pregnant. Everytime I went to visit, I managed to cover my growing bump with an oversized sweater, or loose shirt. Rami and I also had an idea for the gender reveal party for our friends and family, so they would find out the gender.
''Love, we have to get going'' Rami snapped me out of my daze. I nodded, and he helped me get up. I put my jacket on, and we headed off to the studio.
When we arrived, everyone was probaly on a break, the perfect moment to announce it.
''Hey guys'' we said as we stood infront of them. they looked up, and saw us, but they also saw that Rami held the ultrasound picture infront of my belly. They all gasped, and Ben was the first who wrapped me in a hug. Ben and I have known eachother since pre school, and sticked together. Both went to acting school, did a couple of movies together, and now we are here.
''Congratulations you guys'' He said and went over to hug Rami. Joe, Gwilym and Lucy pulled us all in a group hug.
''Thanks guys'' I said and Rami wrapped his arms around my waist.
''What's the gender?'' Lucy asked, with a big smile on her face. She also became a very good best friend of mine, as well as the other members. Rami and I smirked at eachother, and turned back to them.
''We know, but we are throwing a gender reveal party tomorrow for you and our family, then you will know the gender'' Rami explained and they all smiled. The producer called them, and Rami was called in for make up and hair.
''I have to go babe, I'll see you tonight'' Rami said and I nodded. He kissed my lips, and stroked my belly, before heading off.
It was the next day, and everything was set in the garden for the gender reveal party. And ou family, friends, and the guys and Lucy were here. Rami and I decided to reveal the gender by popping balloons, and behind the balloons there was the gender reveal on. Ben, Gwilym, Joe and Sami, my dad, and my brother were in a line, and Lucy, my mother, Rami's mother and sister stood in line, to pop the balloons.
''Everyone ready?'' Rami shouted as everyone cheered. I held my brother's son, as I watched Sami throw the first arrow, the first one popped, but there was nothing to be seen yet. Then Rami's mother threw the second, but she missed. Third, was Joe, who also missed. Fourth was Lucy, who popped the middel one. It showed an A. We cheered and next was Gwilym, who also shot good. Then was Jasmine, who got it good again. Then Ben popped one, and it. Now we all saw a G, a S, and an L. and I think they started to guess it. For the next few arrows, the sign of IRl, was shown, and Ben threw the last one, to reveal the G.
''It's a girl!'' He shouted and everyone cheered as my mom hugged me. I felt hands creep around me, and I turned aroundto see Ben. He hugged me, and twirled me around as I giggled. After receving alot of hugs and kisses, we all went for a groups photo. Afer a couple of hours, everyone left and I was laying in bed with Rami. I had my back against the headboard, as Rami stroked my belly.
''I love her already'' He said as I smiled again, stroking my hand through his hair. ''I know we didn't plan her for now, but I do not regret it. There is no one else I would have kids with then you. I love you'' He finished. I felt the tears in my eyes, and kissed his lips.
''I love you too''
These past few months flew by. Rami finished Bohemian Rhapsody, and we were now watching it. We were not further then the beginning, until I felt a really bad cramp going through my belly. I didn't think much of it, until I heard a gasp from beside me.
''Baby. Yo-you-re water broke!'' Rami stuttered. With a confused look, I looked down to my legs, and saw indeed that my water broke! I gasped and clutched my 9 month belly as I felt a heavier cramp go through my belly again.
''Can you stand up?'' Rami asked in a panicked voice, which I think he didn't want to show. I nodded, and he helped me get up. I breathed in and out as he instructed me, before helping me to the car, and dropping the bag in the backseat. He put my seatbelt on for me, and kissed me quickly, before sitting in the driver's seat.
''Ready to have this baby?'' He asked and I nodded, giggling through the pain.
After being in labour for 3 hours, and having to push for only 5 minutes, our beautiful baby girl Shani, Grace, Jones, Said Malek was born. She was the most beautiful baby I've ever seen. She looked so much like Rami. She only had my eyes and nose.
''She's beautiful'' Rami whispered as he layed down beside me in the hospital bed, stroking her head of curls. She moved her tiny head, to the feeling of Rami's hand. I smiled and felt my heart swell with love. I watched as Rai interracted with his daughter, and the smile never fanished from his face.
''You wanna hold her babe?'' I asked as he nodded. He carefully grabbed her from my arms, and he adjusted himself to the cushions of the hospital bed. He held his finger out, and she immidiatly grabbed on it.
''I love you so much'' He whispered to her, and kissed her forehead. I felt tears in my eyes, and I layed my head on his shoulder. He looked at me, with the same smile on his face he had minutes ago.
''And I love you too. So so much'' I kissed his lips, whispered the words back and watched as he interract with our daughter.
There was a knock on the door, and a nurse came in.
''There are some friends for you'' She smiled and we nodded. The door opened, and Lucy, Ben, Joe and Gwilym came in.
''Oh my god she's beautiful'' Lucy said as she kissed my cheek, hugging Rami, and looking at Shani. All the other's congratulated us, and everyone had their turn holding her, and now it was Ben's turn. Lucy handed her to him, and he carefully cradled her to his chest. Rami tightened his grip on my shoulder, and I saw him smile, as he saw his friends connect with his baby girl.
''Her middle name is Jones. Shani, Grace, Jones, Said Malek'' Rami said as Ben perked up, smiling like a maniac. I saw tears form in his eyes, and he slowly walked over to us. He handed her over to me, and carefully pulled me in a hug. He kissed my cheek, before hugging Rami as well.
Shani is now 1 week old, and Rami and I had an interview for our movie we shot months ago, before I got pregnant, but we decided to wait until the baby was born, to start interviews. Rami suggested to bring Shani with us, to finally show her to the world. Rami was strapping her in her little cute pink elephant carseat, which he got from his mother. I rubbed our dog Bailey goodbye, and headed to the car. When I approached the car, I saw Rami lightly stroking Shani's little head, and I smiled. He was so happy to be the father of this beautiful child, and so was I as a mother.
''Are you ready?'' I asked, resting a hand in his shoulder, he turned around, and put a finger to his lips. I giggled and smiled at Shani, as she twitched, before settling down, and continueing sleeping. She looked so cute in her Daddy's Princes outfit. Rami looked a me, and smiled, kissing my lips.
''I love you'' He whispered. I smiled and said it back, before we climbed in the car, and headed to the Graham Norton Show.
''It's wonderful to see you two, after almost 9 months'' Graham began as Rami, me, James Mcavoy sat on the bright red couch.
''Yeah, it's been too long, but we've had these past 9 months something really great happened in our lives'' I said as Rami squeezed my hand, knowing he felt the same.
''I saw that you just had a baby. I must say she's absoultely beautiful'' Graham noted as a picture of Shani, me and Rami was put onthe big screen, an half hour after she was born. The audiance awwed, and James congratulated me. I know him for years, and we've worked on a couple of movies together.
''Thank you so much'' Rami said with the same smile on his face when Shani was born.
''We actually took her with us, she's backstage'' I said as one of the producer's carried the pink carseat to us. I thanked her, and I took the car seat, setting it with the back to the audience. Rami carefully took her out of her carseat, and cuddled her close to his chest. The audience once again awwed, and I smiled as Shani opened her little beautiful blue eyes.
''She looks so much like Rami it's quite unbelievable'' Graham smiled as he cooed the baby. Shani smiled and I giggled as she tried to grab his hands.
''You can hold her if you like'' Rami suggested. He handed her to Graham, and he sat back down on his stool with Shani on his lap.
''How did you actually tell Rami you were pregnant, (Y/N)?'' Graham asked.
''Well I found out when I was almost 2 months pregnant, because I felt sick and I thought I was getting a fever, so I suggested to also buy a pregnancy test, which I thought it would be false alarm, so when I got home I took 3 tests and they came out positive. I was completely over the moon, and I couldn't wait to tell him until he came home earlier that everning so I decided to visit him on the set. I quickly bought a cute little box where the tests could fit in, so I hurried to the set, and saw he was shooting Live Aid. So the first thing when he was on a break, I decided to hand him the box and he panicked cause he thought he forgot our anniversary'' I giggled, and so did everyone else. He playfully nudged me, and we laughed. Graham first handed Shani to us, but I gave her to James as he happily took her. ''But I assured him it was not that so he opened the box and found the tests and he was shocked. I thought oh my god. He dropped the box and I saw tears appear in his eyes, and he shot up and pulled me in a tight hug. He kissed me and ran to the set, and I heard him scream that he was gonna be a dad'' I finished and the audience clapped. He kissed me cheek, and James handed Shani to me.
''That is something definitly would do'' Graham joked as I laughed.
Sorry for the crappy ending, but it came to mind
Requests are open!
