Frieren's story really said that you don't need to love or truly understand the things your friends love. You just have to be there with them because you're presence makes it more special, it gives it more meaning. Your friends just don't love those things—they love it because you're with them. Because they love you.

#i want to say more but unfortunately this is all i can do #alas i am a mere idiot who can only spit out incoherent words #like the story has so much meaning and it's a lot to unpack (also i'm still on ep 5)#this is about the sunrise in new year's day which frieren thinks there's nothing really special about that but she tries to stay up #so she could watch it bc himmel thought she'd love it but she didn't go with them that time #but now she tries to watch it with fern not bc himmel's right bc frieren still would rather sleep in than watch it #but frieren chose to watch the sunrise bc it makes the people she loves happy #and seeing fern happy makes her happy too #so yeah i don't need to be into my friend's hyperfixations but to just be there with them as it drives them insane #and to listen them yap about it and just be happy for them #frieren: beyond journey's end
