shoutout to uh.

all the good people over on #COVIDisAirborne twitter experimenting with Corsi-Rosenthal box builds w/ different fans and filters and testing their efficiency and posting lists of all the materials they used and DIY videos!! they are saving my life fr.

if you've never heard of a CR box: basically it's a cheaper (and often better) DIY version of a HEPA air filter, which can cost several hundred dollars. The purpose of a CR box is to filter viruses, wildfire smoke, pollen, and other harmful particles out of the air, and provide clean air in exchange.

Your average CR box is made out of a box fan + air filters/furnace filters + duct tape. comparatively really cheap to build; I did mine for about $90 ($35 box fan + 5 Honeywell MERV 13 20x20x1 filters + duct tape) (4 filters for the build itself + an extra in case of damage).

If you don't have the space in your home for a full-size one, you can use PC fans + 2-3 filters for a slimmer box form!! I'm currently gathering materials to make this guy so I can replace the bulky box fan CR build that's currently in my room:

If you're really tight on space, you could make an even tinier CR box, which unfortunately filters less air, but is still better than nothin':

anyways. I'm rambling but CR boxes have been proven to help prevent infections if someone in your household comes down w/ covid. They save lives and they're cheap to build. Please consider building one for your home, and/or asking your school or workplace if building some for your common spaces is a possibility!! As I'm working indoors this winter (and no-one masks except for me), I'm planning to ask my boss if they'd be willing to use company funds to build one or two of these.

aoyama is literally every theatre kid i know. this non stop complaining yet always asking ppl to come to watch also applies to all sports players, band kids, and chorus kids lmao

mina is definitely a girl i've known since, like, 6th grade 😂 we always sat together freshman year and had french together, but other than that, idk anything about her

tsu is kinda me, but i'm only joking on other ppl if i sit next to someone i know. other than that, i only speak when spoken to (don't talk to me type beat)

i can say for sure that everyone either loves iida's random spouts of knowledge or hates when he walks into the room. there is no in between. he gets cool points for the wheeled backpack in any situation tho

uraraka was me in elementary school (with the pens & organization & whatnot) but not me in middle or high school. she is totally that girl in class whose notes look like the layout for a back to school ad. so many colors-

i am happy to say that i have an ojiro and everyone loves him! he's really nice and super smart, so getting paired up on projects is extremely relieving. smart + smart = an A anyways lmao. we've been cool since middle school

denki exists in every classroom here. prove me wrong. prove me wrong. and there's a whole group of him. they act like the birds in finding nemo. instead of them all copying each other and saying "mine! mine! mine!" (which they do anyway) they moan. or say something rly inappropriate/random/dumb. and it's always completely unprompted. sometimes it's funny, but most of the time half the ppl in class just wanna duct tape his mouth shut. also, he's been trying to play on the football team since middle school, but he always ends up standing on the side & acting like he plays. toxic asf tbh lol

i've known a kirishima since preschool. he asked for my pencil freshman year. i never got it back. he's started football after a year of denki's constant begging,, although he hates how toxic everyone except sero is.

koda is another girl i know from french class. i didn't even know she was in the same year as me. we are quite similar - neither of us really go out of our way to talk to ppl, we only speak when spoken to, and we're just quiet for the most part. koda is someone i could comfortably sit in silence with.

i am literally sato and so are a few of my friends. that's probably why we're friends now that i think about it-

i have yet to bump into a tall, polite, handsome person like shoji, but maybe that's bc i am the (somewhat) tall, polite, handsome person /j

yo tbh? i'm also jirou lmao. i feel like if jirou wasn't herself but still with the traits in the hc, she would be popular. which means that she'd be friends with denki & kiri & she'd always yell at them in class for acting dumb. SHE'D YELL AT THEM & ASK IF THEY WERE GOING TO THE FOOTBALL GAME IN THE SAME BREATH LMAO

oh, to have a sero. those of you that do are truly blessed /j. but fr, i have laughed my ass off (lmao'd?) with a sero in middle school. we got in trouble but it was totally worth it. he joined the football team freshman year, star player (next to bakugou), but is more interested in anything but the sport. he's probably naturally gifted in playing random instruments, so he pops into the band room from time to time. also, latino!sero for no reason and every reason.

yes, there is always a tokoyami. if you don't one, you probably are one.

i don't personally know a todoroki, but this hc feels like the first encounter you have with the cute & quiet guy. like kinda shy explaining assignments to each other, politely saying ty, going about your business afterwards. not exactly being friends afterwards, but having some sense of comfort, ykwim? don't get your hopes up about asking him out tho, he probably has a long distance partner he's been with for 3+ yrs that lives in another state/country💀💀

the cheerleader squad hagakure is apart of is not the problematic one. she's friends with jirou. can't stand kaminari like 97% of the time. her and sero probably dated for 3 months - mutual breakup. has unbridled beef with mina since elementary school. she thinks mina stole a bunch of her glitter pens. it was really uraraka.

bakugou is hilarious when he's interacting with anyone but you. even if you're an honor roll student like him, he refuses to let you do work. is it chivalrous? hell no. he's just a little shit

my aizawa was my history teacher last year. didn't have a crush on her, but she was my favorite teacher.

presentation michael is every music teacher. chorus, orchestra, band, allat. if i had to relate him to someone i know, it would be my 8th grade band teacher. always yelling someone's name in the middle of the hallway just to say "heyyy!". really chill 40 something yr old dude. takes his teaching seriously, but always makes it fun/funny.

midnight was my 8th grade english teacher. she always gave extra credit. quit the next year to be closer to her bf who lived in another state and bc she couldn't handle teaching 8th graders smh

ojiro: quiet boy that you probably got partnered with in your biology class for a lab. doesn’t really talk that much but he’s sweet and polite

denki: originally sat in the back of the class but misbehaved so much that the teacher moved him to the front. he’s the boy that fake moans really loudly

kirishima: the boy that also got moved to the front of the class because he kept joking around with denki. asks you if he can borrow a pencil and then never gives it back

koda: someone who you’ve never talked to but you sit next to each other in english and had to peer review each other’s work once. you both left nice notes on the work

sato: has a small group of friends and keeps to himself but you got along well when you had to do a group project with him

shoji: rarely ever talks but you bumped into him in the hallway once and he apologized before helping you pick up your things. very polite

jirou: probably sits next to you and gossips with you in class. also shes the one that rolls her eyes and yells at the boys when they do gross stuff

sero: teacher probably sat him next to you after separating him from denki and kirishima. jokes with you in the middle of class and makes you laugh so hard your shoulders shake

tokoyami: kid that always wears all black and has headphones in for most of the class. he’s quiet and the only time you interacted is when you waved at each other in the hallway

todoroki: the handsome, quiet boy that all the girls whisper about. he’s always the first person in the class to turn his work in and he helped you with your work once. he sat really close to you and explained it quietly <3

hagakure: most likely on the cheer or dance team. she’s always encouraging you to go to the football games on the weekend. most likely part of a friend group that named itself

bakugou: loud football player that always talks back to the teacher and is always in his counselors office but somehow has really good grades. he got partnered with you once and refused to let you do any work

midoriya: always so eager to help you with your work. unintentionally flusters you with the amount of eye contact he makes. sometimes he sits with you and your friends at lunch and he tries to get a spot next to you <3

mineta: he’s part of a large friend group but nobody really likes him or pays attention to him. always got rumors about him going around

momo: the super polite girl who’s great at group work. she goes with you to study with you and do homework in the library after school. offers homework answers sometimes too

aizawa: the history teacher that all the girls have a crush on. his class is fairly easy since the whole class period is just time to do your work

present mic: the loud chorus teacher that greets all of the students in the hallway. you can always hear his class being loud if you walk past his classroom

midnight: the nice english teacher that lets you eat lunch in her classroom. she’s lenient when it comes to late work and always offers extra credit if you need to boost your grade
