please can u recommend me some xmen comics as a newcomer to xmen comics, thank u🫶
Yes I would love to!!! I'm dying to talk about the xmen all the time forever thank you for asking
If you're a completionist you can start with the uncanny xmen in the 60s but honestly. It's a bit of a slog and I'm not personally a fan of Stan Lee or Jack Kirby so I didn't even read all of the original stuff. If you really want to you can do what I did which is just go back and read the issues that are the first appearances of big names (like magneto, the sentinels, juggernaut, etc)
The place I would start is uncanny xmen #94 (or giant size xmen #1, they're the same story just different releases). It's the start of the team with storm, wolverine, colossus, nightcrawler, etc. and its when Chris Claremont started writing for the xmen and he wrote a lot of the stuff people think when they think xmen (like the pheonix saga and days of future past)
if you're not insane like me and don't want to read a billion issues of the xmen you could always just read the major event stuff though. If you do that, I would start with issue #94 and then read through The Phoenix Saga and The Dark Pheonix saga and then if you're still enjoying it just go down the line of event releases.
Honestly though the way I got into it was start reading from Uncanny xmen #94 and then read until you get bored or pick a character and focus on their stuff. I just never got bored and now I have 15 tabs of xmen comic books open at all times but I also have comic book autism
If you wanted to I'm sure you could find somewhere to start in the 2000s but honestly you'd be missing so many great storylines from the 80s and 90s that I wouldn't recommend it personally.
and here are some useful websites that help me a bunch :3
Comicbookreadingorders.com is great for not only marvel but dc and some other major series as well (like buffy, hellboy, fables, etc). it just tells you the basic reading order for any major comic book series. sometimes they do skip some stuff but if its "essential reading" they will list it
readcomiconline.li is my go to website for reading comics. The search function can be somewhat overwhelming when you try to find a specific xmen thing because it will show you literally every comic that has ever featured the xmen but rest assured what you search for is there. Might just have to scroll for a bit.
#the important thing is have fun and be yourself#but forreal it is sort of a find what you enjoy and run with it thing#ask#creepypastamansion#nice url btw

Ktravels/Klife: Halfway through it all / 첫 학기 끝 !
Foreword: I am almost done! I am almost done with my first semester at Yonsei… damn.
I honestly cannot believe that time flew by so fast. I’ve mentioned this before, but I had been thinking about studying abroad for over a year before coming here. And now that I am about halfway through with this experience… damn, I just have no words. Jk I do, which is why I’m writing this right now lol.
My favorite parts about Korea so far: it is my emotional, musical wonderland. More on that later, but… it’s heart-warming to hear so many of my favorite, treasured artists occasionally on the streets or in a café. And no, not K-pop lol I know nothing about K-pop anymore. In terms of café culture, it’s a love and hate relationship because some of them are just so expensive sigh. BUT, after going to so many different cafes like all around Seoul, I have come to actually have specific preferences for what constitutes a gr8 café (for studying specifically bc that’s all my friends and I mostly do at cafes anyway LOL) hehe:
AFFORDABLE!! No normal person should be paying like 7 or 8 bucks for a goddamn coffee. Base price for drinks should be around 5,000 won. If their iced caramel macchiato costs more than 5,500 won, the place is too expensive. If it’s less than 5,000 won,
Reasonable cup sizes! Or better, LARGE ONES! (안녕, 낯선 사람 in hongdae has some super bang-for-your-buck coffee drinks, the best I’ve seen!! :^))
Music that isn’t too loud
OUTLETS. OUTLETS ARE A MUST.
Plentiful seats so that it’s never too packed & large-enough tables
Nice temperature (aka not too cold in the winter, not too hot in the summer)
You can sneak in outside food & eat it blatantly even if there are signs saying not to, and no one will ever say anything
Not too crusty: cozy, but clean
A nice, well-maintained bathroom
It may seem impossible to find the perfect café that could meet all of these expectations, but honestly there are just SO many cafes in seoul, that if you search hard enough or have enough luck, some will be out there somewhere :^)
ALSO can I address the business turnover rate here?? Is this why Seoul is considered a fast-paced city?? So many times, my friends I have tried to go to cafes or restaurants or stores we’ve seen online or found on Kakao/Naver Maps, only to arrive and discover that THEY’RE GONE. Even if I did thorough research and found a blog post of a place from 2 months prior, the place is just POOF, disappeared into thin air. This has literally happened countless times and we are flabbergasted each time LOL. As limited as the database of 맛집’s and cafes already is online, the Internet & maps can’t even keep up to date with information either. Businesses open up so randomly fast, too it’s crazy… Mangoplate, the supposed “yelp” of Korea honestly is not that useful either LOL it usually has places on the pricier side, it is also not always up to date, and I just feel like Seoul/Korea has way too many places & businesses worth trying that they can’t even all fit into one database. There are just so many of those un-documentable places. So I suggest: find a neighborhood, go with your friends, take a stroll around the place, and try to stumble upon a place of your liking. Unless you can read Korean & utilize naver blogs (slightly more extensive and useful than mangoplate but still not 100% reliable all the time), then walking around is probably your best bet rather than attempting to do research online. Trust me.
Hmm what else is there… It’s really nice to be able to get/buy anything pretty easily, with convenience. I am afraid I will get too used to this once I go back to the states.
I think once the work started to pick up later in the semester, I definitely started falling into a routine of going to my morning class & then leaving sinchon to run errands elsewhere in Seoul, or simply doing work in the business building which quickly became my go-to spot because 1) outlets, 2) can eat food 3) very nice facility, literally sparkling 4) on campus. It kinda hurts to think that this short-lived routine will be over quite soon, but maybe next semester will be a little more exciting.
Although I haven’t been speaking as much Korean as I would like to, I do feel like my Korean has improved to an extent: (very slightly) vocab-wise, reading-wise, and writing-wise. It is honestly SO refreshing to finally be learning Korean in a formal, classroom setting. It honestly makes me regret not doing it sooner. Why did I lock myself up in my room for 8 years and only settle for learning on my own?? Sigh, it’s okay. I can only get better from here, right? As much as I hate the timing of KLI, I still really do enjoy the class nonetheless and I feel some sort of… growth? I appreciate how all my background knowledge of Korean has helped me up to this point as well. That at least, I can be proud of lol.
With languages and culture in general, throughout the semester, for the first time ever, I got to reflect on how valuable languages are. It is so interesting; I’ll try my best to explain my realizations, but it might come out as gibberish in the end… I really think anyone that has been born & raised in the US should spend a prolonged amount of time abroad. As homogeneous of a society Korea is, being here has opened my eyes to the global society. The society in which multiculturalism is embraced, there is no one correct language of communication, and every member listens to the various cultural values of one another without judgement. I never thought of English as being a powerful language. In fact, I honestly think I have been taking English for granted. I have never realized the immensity of the English language, how the rest of the world vies to master it, and how I have been blessed to have grown up with English as my native tongue. But on the flip-side, learning other languages is just as worthwhile. Communicating in a different language is literally honing a different perspective, mentality, and set of values. You can try to translate target languages into your native tongue for ease of comprehension. Or, what I have come to deeply appreciate and understand is, you can and should take the target language as it is. In order to connect with the language and consequently the culture, stop thinking in terms of your native tongue. Doing this to a deeper extent in Korea than I ever did before has felt extremely rewarding: it makes the language dynamic and exciting to learn. It has led me to cherish specific words or phrases, more so than I already did before arriving here. And it really is just… beautiful. LEARN A SECOND LANGUAGE! EXPLORE GLOBALIZATION!
Quite frankly though, I am disappointed that I haven’t been able to go to as many places as I would like, within in Korea. Okay more like: I am super grateful for the gorgeous places I have been to, but I also wish I could’ve visited those classic, “must-see” places like Busan, Jeju-do, Jeonju, Daegu, etc. I did however, visit lesser known, less expecting (??) places like Gangwon-do (Jumunjin Beach, Gangmun Beach, Gangneung, Yeongwol, Jeongseon, Pyeongchang) & Gyeongju & like Anyang & Seongnam…? Do these last two even count LOL theyre just smoller cities outside of Seoul… but yeah, I guess I’ll just have to save Busan and Jeju and the others for next semester… when I’m not as broke hopefully lmao.
But forreals, I actually really appreciated my trip to Gangwon-do even though it was technically an assignment for one of my courses called “New Media and Digital Storytelling” (shoutout to prof ted for supporting us with this valuable experience!!) because it was literally a breath of fresh air. Seoul is constantly jampacked with people and cars and smog and noises, but Gangneung was still a city, still just as civilized, but much quieter. Granted, nothing much happens out there and some parts are straight up just farming grounds, but the beaches have these stunning sunsets that look like they’re straight out of a graphically-altered fantasy movie. It was stunning and the image still lasts behind my eyes to this day.
One of the other things that I have been struggling to accept is that fact that I feel… unproductive in life? I wish I put myself more out there this semester. Even though I met a good number of locals and have had a few valuable conversations, I never deeply connected with any of them. Plus, almost all of them are going abroad next semester or graduating ☹. I also did not join any clubs or organizations or sports teams nor did I get a job or an internship or do any tutoring or volunteering on the side… I have just been going to class, occasionally spending a lot of money, and then spending some more. Last year at UCI, I feel like I ran into my freshman year with a fiery heart: I joined the badminton team, became a part of the Antleader Mentorship Program (AMP, which I miss so dearly with all of my heart) in fall & winter quarter, and took all upper division education courses my spring quarter as well as fulfilled my fieldwork major requirement by tutoring at a Kindergarten class for 6 hours every week. But coming to Korea, everything felt stagnant. Academically, career-wise, I feel like everything has been on a pause. Granted, many people could tell me that “Oh, you just being in Korea is already so much more than you need! You are doing more than enough, don’t worry”. But am I really?? I beg to differ. I am honestly pretty disappointed in myself and at this point all I can push for is to try to get more involved next semester. It has also been hurting to know that I have been digging into my precious savings that took over 2 long years to build up so quickly :(.
SO yeah, as great as Korea has been, it’s also been money-draining and disappointing from a personal-growth kind of view. Maybe I’m being too hard on myself, but that is also simply my reality. I think I am also choosing to be hard on myself because my luck with all my favorite artists has just been… totally undeserving.
I feel so blessed and “but why me??” at the same time. I have gotten to see Roy Kim four times live (fifth time will be this coming Sunday; the Seoul shows were blessedly scheduled the weekend right before I leave) & he released a new song in September. Eddy Kim, whom ive been waiting 4 years for to come back, finally did so right in the middle of my time here. Fromm, my extremely beloved indie goddess for YEARS now, released a new mini album in November; I got to see her 3 times live, and even attended her breath-taking solo?? Alone?? Personal? 그냥 단독 콘서트. Sam Kim, who I first listened to when I was 15, who has saved my life so many times with his music, finally released a FULL-length album 2 years and 6 months since his debut EP. Not only was I selected to go to his album’s release showcase, but I also got to a meet him through a fansign event. Oh yeah, I also met Fromm through a free fansigning & Eddy Kim through his new album’s fansign event, too. (I will post about these artist-meeting experiences separately because I feel like these three occasions alone have taught me so much). I saw DAY6 live for their third-year debut anniversary and I could feel the immensity and sincerity brimming from their voices, especially with an unfortunately missing member from stage; I will be seeing them soon for their newest music release, which also happened to come out this December. Nam Woohyun of Infinite, the group that I gave my heart to for over a third of my life, the group that I owe so much of my existence to, released another solo mini album, and I was lucky enough to even attend day 3 of his solo concert series; I saw a few other members of Infinite, I could feel my 12-year-old heart screaming & flailing & crying & apologizing from within because I’ve missed them for so long now, and I even heard a never-before released track from him as well. It was a miracle; I saw Woohyun & glimpses of the others on November 4th. Almost exactly 5 years ago in 2013, on November 11th, I went to a concert for the first time in my life and saw those very own loves with my own eyes: Infinite.
ALL OF THESE. ALL OF THESE EVENTS. Have been a blessing. Have been some sort of indescribable, boundless, breath-taking stroke of luck. I promise you, just luck. Roy just somehow decided to take a break from school at Georgetown THIS semester. Eddy Kim, Fromm, Sam Kim, Woohyun, and DAY6 all just somehow decided to release new music within the last half of this year. ME, I, just somehow decided to study abroad not as a 3rd year nor a 4th year, but a mere 2nd year. I decided to leave my home university barely 1 year in, and go to Korea. Just because. Because it felt right and I knew I wanted to, I knew I had to. But never could I have predicted any of these things to happen. Never in a million years. The very artists that I had only been listening to and watching from my computer screen for years as I hid beneath the deep blankets of my bed, the artists that have made me cry on cue because of how beautiful, meaningful, and healing their music is, the artists that seem to barely exist on the Internet, that are so lowkey and precious that I feel like I am the only that really listens to and loves them, the very artists that make my world revolve, that push me to go on when I want to give up, that I owe so much of my life to, all decided to release music, suddenly be active, hold events, and meet their fans in one way or another. Right. When. I am here, too. This sort of timing in life is nothing I had control of. It was all luck and I am just so deeply, infinitely, perpetually, until the end of this world, thankful. Every day I am so thankful. I didn’t ask for any of this, I didn’t hope for it, I didn’t even think about the possibility of these events happening in my life. But they did somehow. And for that, I am just so so so grateful. It’s just crazy to think that years ago, as a sophomore in high school. My heart would bulge with immense affection for these people & their music. They were unreal, almost-fantasy-like existences that made life-saving music and that I cherished so immensely. But little did I know 4 or 5 years later, this could happen to me. That there was actually a worth to loving these almost “nobody” musicians. I just constantly feel like I am always receiving from them, and never giving back. I really do owe them so much. Thank you, to my beloved artists. For everything.
Moving on to the people that have made my first semester here at Yonsei even brighter: our dumbass squad consisting of lil hoorey, 왕언니 ana, smol laura, dumbass closted weaboo Wilson, & even dumber josh LOL I am so blessed to have met such funny, stupid, understanding friends. Before arriving to Korea, I was STRESSED that I wouldn’t be able to find friends because I hate alcohol, I hate clubbing, I hate mainstream K-pop and simply many parts of popular Korean culture are things that I am not particularly a fan of. But thankfully, I have found an endearing group of friends that share these same sentiments. These reliable people have honestly shaped so much of my experiences here and I am forever thankful. IT JUST SUCKS THAT I AM THE ONLY ONE STAYING FOR A YEAR LOL. But yes, thank you friends, for everything <3 .
Have I exhausted all of my thanks at this point?? Probably not. But I’ll save those for my own heart and mind to cherish. Going abroad was and has been and will be an experience that I don’t think I could ever properly express with words alone. I think it’s always like that when it comes to these rants LOLLL. I rant because I need to vent these feelings and emotions and flaring thoughts. But I just end up struggling to articulate everything and get my heart across properly. Sigh.
Homesickness? Is this something I was supposed to address? Maybe exchange students are probably expected to always talk about this. But for me, it was a nonexistent notion. Being born and raised in the bay area, having lived in the same exact house, having slept in the same creaky, old bed for 18 years in a row, has provided me with a comfort that I probably take for granted more than I should, but has also left me with an intense urgency to explore more, see more, do more, and just breathe more. The Bay Area can be extremely toxic and suffocating in so many ways, and it a space that I know I can go back to whenever my heart desires, but it is also a space that I do not wish to prolong my stay in any further. My immediate family has also never been a significant part of my life: I have never relied on them for emotional nor mental support. Maturing into an adult with this sort of detachment has hindered and helped me in countless ways. There were definitely times throughout my life where I despised them for the way in which everything turned out. For how miserable or lonely or stuck or negligent I sometimes felt. But I know that without that detachment, I would not be where I am today. To my next semester at Yonsei, you look questionable, daunting, and exciting. I honestly can’t even begin to imagine what will be in store for me. All I can wish for is health & happiness.
가즈으으아!!~

Mel you should talk about Dawn's favourite investigation she's done so far
oh snap, this will probably wind up being v long won’t it ??? mAN …. …. .
I bet I’m gonna just wind up summarizing the entire plot of dawn vs. ghosts while highlighting favorite threads and investigations along the way smh……..
well, to start off, there’s probably two categories of “investigations” I’ll talk about: 1) headcanoned investigations that have never been rped (and probably never will because they’re almost all solo investigations in dawn’s formative years) 2) completed or near-completed investigation-related threads (90% of which will be with @binarycolours and the hicktoes detective agency, but there’s also one or two that immediately pop into my mind as having investigative elements with others, such as some threads/plots with @darkvcid and @rubyki!)
first of all. her early, novice solo investigations started in sinnoh and carried with her as she headed for kanto, johto, and sevii. in sinnoh, dawn literally searched every corner of the region for any unexplained phenomena she can find; she tries to solve the mystery of what happened to the canalave sailor’s son (which leads to her first encounter with @darkvcid! and astral projection!!! whoa!!!), and she also spends a lot of time poking around in the corners of the old chateau (which has both pokemon hauntings and actual legit hauntings, she’s sure of it—the old chateau is where she first starts to distinguish between haunting-associated infrasound and ghost-type pokemon generated ultrasound). there’s a lot more dawn looks into in the sinnoh region, including what she suspects is a yuki-onna from japanese folklore (you can see the early curiosity about what happened to the strange woman in the house along route 217 in my thread with @creatordeath, though that’s pre-investigation). like. forreal. this girl exhausts every spooky lead in all of sinnoh.
in johto, kanto, and sevii in particular, she doesn’t find that many legit ghosts, but there’s lots of Strange Shit™️ to see, for sure?? johto in particular has a lot of ancient myths and legends with strange things going on, like all the different ruins around the region (and u and I have plotted lots of stuff for sinjoh in particular, whoa look). though I haven’t had any explicit completed threads involving it, one relationship-related headcanon I have is with @seviiserver and her frequently coming to celio for local rumors around the islands to investigate as a kid, especially for phenomena like disappearing islands, spooky maze forests, mysterious caves with strange behavior, and giant crop-circle-like patterns in grass patches. sevii is where dawn decides that paranormal phenomena outside of hauntings are junk science. so… they’re not necessarily her favorite investigations, but they’re definitely important, and she wants to revisit them someday.
her time in johto, kanto, and sevii is where she first tries maybe-kinda-sorta making a job out of ghost hunting and paranormal investigation. but, there’s one glaring problem she runs into: she doesn’t do documentation and evidence well. dawn relies entirely on her senses, her gut feelings, and her own perception to determine if unexplained phenomena is afoot, and she can’t seem to get anyone to compensate her on her word alone. in the process, she starts trying to take other people along with her as proof that she’s not just making shit up (re: this doesn’t work well as proof either, and she winds up babysitting weenies most of the time).
anyway. AT SOME POINT SHE LEAVES TO GO LOOK FOR MORE LEGIT GHOSTS since kanto and johto are severely lacking, and everything she can find online says that, besides sinnoh, unova is the place to go. apparently there’s like 2.9 suspected hauntings per capita there, or something.
so that’s where she goes!! within a week of arriving, she hears about some creepy old abandoned pokemon center with legends about a sadistic nurse and maybe also a fire or something, and happens to run into some unovan guy (with the url @binarycolours, if it isn’t super obvious) who happens to be heading in there too (is it just outside?? is it while on the road there?? I don’t remember which was established/if it was ever established, shit) BUT THIS IS A SUPER IMPORTANT INVESTIGATION BECAUSE WOW, someone else who isn’t afraid of no ghosts (just spiders, but that’s okay, maybe) and he actually tries to use tech, unlike her. the next day she winds up running into him again, and nags the poor asshole until he agrees to start a business with her and rent out a shitty small office in the city.
of the unova investigator threads, it’s gonna be very hard for me to narrow down which investigations are her favorites (she enjoys all of them I think, unless she really fucking doesn’t). her “nope fuck this nope fucking no” investigation is where she thinks touya fucking almost diES ON HER, and they still haven’t revisited that weird place with the weird force that knocked him out with no explanation (it’s pretty much the only time she’s gotten so afraid that she demanded they leave in the middle of an investigation). another one that’s…. harder to pin down feelings on (but they’re probably generally negative, since nothing went as she originally planned) is where they tried to go look into a farmhouse with the ghost of a soldier, but wound up getting caught in some weird, energy-draining time anomaly by a Strange Entity. Otherwise, the rest—no matter how weird or freaky or terrifying they’ve gotten (even when distortion world gates pop up, I guess) are exactly the kinds of investigations she wants to have and genuinely loves to do.
I’ve talked about it a lot in headcanons, but older dawn (in her early 20′s) starts trying to investigate ultrabeasts from her own background and perspective (re: under her theory that what we perceive to be “ghosts” are interdimensional spacetime anomalies, because that makes fucking sense if pokesatan is also an interdimensional spacetime anomaly) but she also starts looking more into paranormal phenomena outside of ghosts and hauntings. one hecking big one is parapsychology and extrahuman abilities, which is an interest sparked mostly by @rubyki (literally what the fuck is he, some sort of psychic-something-something? she’s still not sure) despite having known another psychic-something-something for as long as she can remember, @lukissed. BUT HEY, WHEN YOUR CHILDHOOD FRIEND IS A PSYCHIC-SOMETHING-SOMETHING, it’s probably much easier to casually get coffee and try to figure out what the heck is going on in his perspective with another psychic-something-something, right? maybe.
and I guess?? that’s the current direction she’s headed in for now?? I’m starting to get some budding ideas about her trying to become recognized in the scientific community as a legitimate expert on this kind of stuff, but??? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ lol wHO KNOWS WHERE IT WILL GO, WHERE IT WILL END, IF IT WILL EVER END
(dawn voice) it’ll end when I’m fuckin dead, assholes

Anonymous said:Headcanons for being Darry, Soda and Pony's sister would include please?
A/N: Heya lovely! I’m so happy to have been able to do this one! I love this fandom so much and I love the Curtis boys sooo much! Thank you for blessing our ask box with your request, it means so much! Hope you enjoy this! - Admin Kat 💟
Being the Curtis’s Sister Would Include:
- Do comprehend how protective your brothers are going to be of you? They don’t care if you’re older or younger, you’re the baby of the family (even to Ponyboy).
- You’ll never walk anywhere on your own, okay? Either themselves or one of themselves will accompany you you.
- NO BOYFRIENDS! They know what guys can be like and not even the gang will allow you, either.
- If you’ve got shorts on, you’re gonna be heckled to put some pants on and cover up like a nun.
- You’d be spoiled. They’ll find a way to do it, believe me. (Note: Being spoiled doesn’t always mean material wise.)
- They WON’T tolerate the boys (or any other boys, for that matter) whistling at you or anything of that sort.
- The boys would flirt with you just to joke around.
- Pony would always bring you to movies with him.
- “I swear, it’s a two minute walk to the drug store, Pony.” you’d insist persistently.
- “Yeah well, there’s another movie comin’ up that I’ve been meanin’ to watch...” Ponyboy would grumble out vigilantly and with red ears.
- “Wow! Get you, kid!” You’d grin incredulously, messing up his tuff hair. “When did you get so into girls? Or are you just listenin’ to Dar?” You’d taunt him.
- “Shut up...” he’d gripe.
- Sodapop would be the shoulder that you cry on, the brother who understands nearly everything that you’re going through.
- “S-Soda?” you called, half of your body stuck in the bathroom. “Can you come here for a minute?” your voice is quiet, but Soda senses it, shooting looks at Two-bit who makes comments.
- “What’s up?” he hums, brushing past you and into the bathroom. There’s kindness swelling in his eyes.
- “Can you get some lemon juice from the store and some uh... lady stuff?” you stare at your jeans, stained red on the floor and the feeling of being abashed swarms you. It’s almost suffocating.
- It doesn’t take Soda long to catch on, but when he does he has a kind smile. “Sure thing kid, I’ll get Darry to guard the door for ya from the knuckleheads in there.” he states like any big brother would. “I get this all the time with Sandy, so I ain’t embarrassed.” he says, getting ready to leave the bathroom. “And neither should you.”
- Darry being your protector.
- “You don’t understand!” you barked after him, heading to your room, slamming doors and such as you tirade through your house.
- “To hell I do!” Darry shouts back, stilling the boys in the house. “I don’t give a hang if Tim Shepard claimed to be the Pope, he ain’t goin’ out with you and that’s that! You can be friends with him, but he’s keeping his hands off of you! I swear to God, if I hear even a damn rumor that you two hook up, kiss in a parking lot in the North Pole or hold hands in an old folks home, I’ll belt him so hard he’ll be left half dead. You hear me?!” Darry’s word was the law, ain’t nobody go against.
- “He’s not like tha-” you whirl around to challenge him but Darry wouldn’t here it.
- “You can bet my boots and even Dallas’s boots that he’s exactly like that. There’s one thing that guys want nowadays! I know Tim’s good to us with a rumble, a good buddy of Dal’s, but if I can prevent my sister from hooking up with someone that’ll get her into trouble, you can bet your boots I will!”
- The gang all being brother’s to you.
- Like forreal, even Johnny would get tense if a guy comes near you.
- “Well buddy, I’d like to think you’re admiring that sign over there, because this chick is off limits, you hear?” Two-bit would drawl on, surprisingly serious.
- You’d totally know how to fight and would play fight with the guys, but they’d let you win, - even Dallas! -.
- Sometimes wishing that you had a sister, but loving your brothers regardless.
- The boys watching their language around you.
- You use any bad language and you’re grounded for life!
- When and if you ever get jumped, you’ll have most of the neighborhood hacking through the city to find whoever the hell hurt you.
- The gang and your brothers crashing all of your dates.
- “I hope you’re not thinking of hooking up with her, buddy. Her brother’s the size of Superman and will wring your neck out like a towel.” Two-bit would grin into your dates ear.
- “And why the hell should I ca-”
- “Because, if you don’t,” Dallas drops into the seat beside your date, the gang scattered around, looking all tough, “I’ll be the one digging your grave. You want it six feet deep or a little deeper? Because I sure as hell don’t want you crawling out.” he’d spit menacingly.
- Bringing Darry lunch on the weekends and any guy who looks at you is a goner! Darry will flex his muscles and have them running!
- Hanging out with Steve and Soda at the DX, getting free Cokes.
- The battle of Coke and Pepsi with Ponyboy.
- “I swear, Coke is sooo much better!”
- “That’s not true and you know it!”
- Strict rules not to go to Buck’s and if you’re found there by Dal, you’re in for some talking to...
- Two-bit and Dallas always pretending to be your boyfriend when people hit on you.
- Being the only girl that Johnny isn’t scared of.
- “Who knew you had a way with the quiet one’s, (Y/N).” Two-bit would tease.
- You’re going to get relentlessly teased all the time but it’ll be made up in other ways.
- Steve giving you free rides all the time.
- “At least you’re not a drag like Pony.” Steve would compliment you.
- “Oooh get you, threatened by a fourteen year old!” you’d grin.
- Anyone who breaks your heart is freaking dead!
- Being close to Evie.
- Dallas telling you stories about New York and keeping you away from idiots like Curly Shepard.
- Infinite piggy back rides.
- You getting a job so Darry has some help with the bills.
- Arguing with Darry a lot but he cares about you and you know it.
- Watching sunsets with Ponyboy and doing other things he likes.
- Sodapop going with you everywhere and always understanding you.
- Wrestling matches with Two-bit, to which you cheat all the time.
- Being tickled all the time and chased.
- Knowing how to do back flips and if it’s something you wanna do, going onto the cheer leading squad.
- Always getting to be on Darry’s team for football.
- “You’re such a girl, (Y/N)!” Steve or Dallas would tease.
- “I’ll make you a girl!” you’d throw your fist in the air and make them laugh.
- Getting off with quite a lot, but always taking up the blame for Pony because you think Darry is too tough on him.
- Saving up secretly to help Darry go to college.
- Pranking everyone all the time and being yelled at for it but they get over it. But it does start a pranking war!
- “Alright, who the hell put my socks in the ice box? They’re soggy now!” Sodapop would snap, only for you and Two-bit to giggle like school girls.
- “You guys are nuts!” Pony would grin.
- Borrowing your brothers shirts (part from Darry’s, unless you’re in desperation bc he’s huge!).
- “Okay, who took my sweatshirt with the sleeves cut off?” Ponyboy would call, as it was the last clean shirt he had.
- “It ain’t much of a sweatshirt now, is it?” you’d say, parading in with the sleeveless sweatershirt in name on.
- “I swear to God!” Pony would yell. “You’ve gotta stop doin’ this! I’m gonna end up goin’ to school stark naked!”
- “Well, I have a shirt with daisy’s on if you’d like?” you’d offer jokingly.
- If you ever forget a jacket, you’ll be bundled up with the gang’s.
- “It’s thirty degree weather out!” you’d retort indignantly.
- “Well, it get’s cold out later on and if you don’t bring a jacket, Two-bit’ll be freezing his nipples off!” Darry would bark back.
- Being the baby of the gang and of the family and being so cared about. You may not have the material world, but you’ve got love and family, and you’re so grateful for that.

How's your day going? Sunday is always my least favorite day of the week so it’s been meh today. I have a paper due by 11:59 PM that I just can’t be bothered to start, and we’re also parentless for today since my mom had to accompany my sister who’s taking a college entrance exam. What shape is your face? Squareish. What sort of computer are you on right now? I’m on a MacBook Air. What's your favorite restaurant? I don’t have one. When I eat out I try a different place every time, so I haven’t been to any restaurant enough times to call it my favorite. What does your umbrella look like? I don’t really use umbrellas. Either I run in the rain or stay somewhere with a roof and wait it out.
Do you share a room with anyone? Nope. Unless you count my dog then yes. Are you superstitious? No. I’ve come under heat because of it several times, like how I don’t believe in knocking on wood. There was one time Gab and I got in an argument about a particular superstition – apparently there’s a Filipino practice that says after you go to a wake, you’ll have to stop by somewhere first, because that’s the only way you’ll prevent the dead’s soul from following you into your home. It’s called pagpag and it refers to shaking off dust, which is precisely the idea of the tradition. I had never heard of it, and when we came from a schoolmate’s wake she insisted we stop over at a nearby Dunkin Donuts for like 30 seconds so she can do the pagpag. I didn’t believe in it, so it was only she who got out of the car.
Do you believe in astrology? No. It’s great fun reading the memes though. Take the vowels out of your name. What does it spell? Rbyn. Do you eat breakfast every day? No, it’s an even rarer instance when I get to eat some. You can go back in time and slap one historical figure in the face. Who? Emilio Aguinaldo. Do you have socks on? Describe them. Nope. I don’t wear socks in the house. Pick up your cell phone for a second. Who's your first text from? My girlfriend, but her last text was yesterday evening. Fourth missed call? Gabie’s the only one who calls me, so her. Are you one of those people who has like a hundred apps on their phone? Not at all. I probably wouldn’t even reach 30 – other than the iPhone’s default ones, I have very few apps. Have you ever been to the ballet? Yes, I had ballet lessons when I was 5. Those didn’t last long, because it was quickly discovered that I didn’t have the build of a ballerina :/ I adopted some flexibility from the lessons though, and I’ve kept them to this day. Do you have good reflexes? Yeah they’re pretty lightning quick. My hands don’t react as fast though. Do you have many internet friends? I used to. Oh god I used toooooo. I had so many in the wrestling community. I had friends on Tumblr, then when I retired that I also gained many on Twitter. I’ve since lost all of them now, because I’m terrible at keeping friends. Do you think those friendships are on level with your real life ones? Well as I’ve said those friendships are gone now, so clearly not on the same level. Do you keep a journal? I’ve tried to, never worked out. Tumblr has always been the most effective outlet for me. Describe for me your ideal sandwich. I’m not a big sandwich person. A Monte Cristo should do it for me. What are some names that you like? It changes every time...Olivia, Isabella, Cassandra for girls, Jacob for boys. Is there something you're putting off doing in favor of this survey? HAAAAAAH YES. Maybe after this survey I’ll start forreals. Are your friends generally like you or different from you? Different. Link me to a picture you think is cute. Egh. Do you like blowing bubbles? Sure, but I find them very sticky after. What's the band that you love even though you know they're awful? I don’t think there is one. I think all the bands I love are really good, if I thought they were awful I wouldn’t waste my time enjoying them? Ever had a pillow fight? Maybe a few times as a kid. What do you usually pick in truth or dare? Truth because I never had a problem being honest.
Are you better at posing good questions or coming up with outrageous dares? Questions. I’m a journalist, dude. It’s so easy to come up with daring questions. Vinyl, cassette, CD or MP3? Vinyl just because Gab has rubbed off some of her hipsterness on me. Do you coo over other people's babies? Yes. A thousand times yes. What is something that makes you very squeamish? Needles. Anything that pricks the skin. Do you try those as-seen-on-TV things? Nope. If I had money to waste, I would buy them lol. Has there been a celebrity death that really affected you? Not a celebrity, but a very influential politician I looked up to all my life. We always call her the greatest president we never had. Do you get the dressing on the salad or on the side? Put that shit all over the salad. Do you make lists, or are you more of an unplanned person? Lists keep me calm, so they’re a necessity in my case. If you're out of high school, have you stayed in touch with your high school friends? If you're still in school, do you think you will? I have better communication with my high school friends than with people I know in college. Is there something you like to eat that most people think is gross? Yeah, I always go for the grossest things whenever I’m out on trips. I’ve eaten balut, isaw, frog legs, chicken feet, sea urchin, day-old chicks, etc. Do you have a lot of photographs of your friends? Yes. I have much more photos of other people than of myself. Do you dye your hair regularly? I’ve never dyed my hair. Do you think, if it came down to it, that you'd be able to kill someone? Thinking very hypothetically, if anyone killed either of my best friends, I’m guessing in my rage I could actually be able to, as long as we were in some alternate universe where I could get away with that. Are you good at rating things? Rating things? Like professors and films? Sure. What's a movie that you want to see? It. What was the name of your third grade teacher? We called her Ms. Adette. By the time the school year ended she migrated to I think Oman, so I barely remember her now except for the fact that I flunked her math test once. Are you a competitive person? Very. I have trouble accepting loss. Do you get into a lot of arguments? No. I hate confrontations; the only person I’m willing to get into an argument with is Gab. Do you like to go shopping? No. Can you knit? Absolutely not. We were taught how to sew and knit and crochet in Grade 6 home econ, but I couldn’t be arsed to learn it. Still ended up passing the class even if I didn’t pass any of the major requirements. Do you use the same username everywhere online or do you have a lot? Yeah, I use robyncanrana everywhere. It’s a wrestling reference, and fans usually compliment me on the username, so I’ve kept it ever since I started using it in 2013. What's something that you really like about yourself? I can tell if someone doesn’t like me or is faking it with me. I’m a wallflower, so through the years I’ve learned to read and observe people well because I was always in the background watching them. Can you pass for older than you are? Hah no. I rely on Gab if I want to sneak into bars without having my ID checked because she looks way more mature than I am. Have you ever been in a situation where that was necessary? I don’t think so, no. Do you talk a lot? Faaaar far from ‘a lot.’ Are you a Facebook creeper? Not at all. What is a smell that you hate? Fruits. If you don't set your alarm clock or anything, when will you wake up? 5 or 6. Do you even use an alarm clock, or do you just use your phone? I’ve only used my phone for alarms. Do you watch Maury or Steve Wilkos or anything like that? No, because we don’t show them here. What did you get your best friend for their last birthday? My time. Lol we don’t give each other gifts, just show up on their birthday and it should be fine. What did they get you for yours? Also their time. Are you capable of finishing a game of Monopoly? I don’t know how to play Monopoly. My impression of it is that there’s so many things going on, so I was never interested in it. What is a word or phrase that you overuse? I say sorry a lot. What's your favorite painting? Anything by Claude Monet. Oh and Frida Kahlo’s My Dress Hangs There, because I actually saw the real painting in 2015. Have you ever written to your congressman? I haven’t. Did you get sent those free AOL discs a lot? No. We were never sent those. Are you allergic to anything? Other than rich students my age, no. What are you going to do now that you're finished with this survey? Start on that damn paper I’ve been ignoring all week.
