I really want to get into drawing again but I’m such a perfectionist that I just can’t do it because if it doesn’t immediately look perfect I just feel the need to give up, which I know is stupid - my mental health is great enough for me to know that - but still even knowing the problem it’s so hard to fight it.

#personal #me #drawing #art #artist struggles #I started a painting of Ed in June and it was going really great until I fucked up the face so I tried to start it over again #but for some reason - whether it is drawing or painting Taika Waititi’s face - I just can’t seem to do it #he has such a unique beautiful face and while the original version of the face wasn’t bad:#it just wasn’t him #and so I tried to correct it but it never worked out and now this unfinished painting is lying around causing me a migraine #at this point I just wanna give it up but I’m too proud of the parts that I DID make to do so #still maybe a fresh start would be great?#thought about repainting Ed from the trailer… but I’ll see #still this is mostly about drawing not painting #I suck at anatomy and proportions and I hate it #still the only way of making progress is practising #now if only I would internalize that for once 🙄
