I’m also curious to hear more about how you interpret the interactions between Gregor and Rodya! I’m not super involved in the fandom but I get the vibe that a lot of folks see them as a ship, so I’m curious how your view on how you see em (since you seem to be the best Gregor scholar I’ve seen so far lmao)
anon is trying to get my shot oh my god.
BEFORE I GET INTO THIS I SHOULD CLARIFY THAT I LOVE RODYA SHE'S MY SECOND FAVORITE SINNER I CARE HER SO VERY BAD. I DO NOT HATE RODYA I THINK ABOUT HER VERY OFTEN. THIS IS NOT ME EXPRESSING DISTASTE FOR RODION ROMANOVICH RASKOLNIKOV I SWEAR.
that all being said i think gregor absolutely fucking hates her ass and rodya isn't really capable of taking him seriously as a potential romantic partner lmao. i'm personally in the camp that thinks gregor is just Full On Gay so i wouldn't really be fond of the ship either way but. you know. regardless, i'm Fully aware of how popular this ship is but i just think it's sort of a consequence of both characters putting up fronts as a defense mechanism so Obviously These Two Must Get Along As Well As They Present.
i'll get into more detail for the both of them below the cut, but for a brief summary of my thoughts here's a joke i made in the cogitopedia discord shortly after c7 pt3
for gregor's side of things, i think rodya is 100% one of the sinners that he has the most resentment for on the bus? she's constantly making "lighthearted" digs at the other sinners with gregor being one of her main targets and i think that's the type of thing gregor 100% picks up on and judges her extremely harshly for. ntm that i think gregor probably at least to like, SOME degree compares her to hermann a little bit? we already know that he's not above making connections to other people in his life and basing his opinions on people off of that since that's Literally what he did with yuri and fully admitted to it, and when one of gregor's Biggest Issues is feeling like he lacks free will i just don't think it's going to end well when you pair him up with someone who's particularly prone to steamrolling over other people for the sake of pursuing her own desires.
for rodya's side of things, i just don't think she takes gregor seriously in general? i'm fully aware that she pulls out the babes and gregs constantly but i've always read that more as rodya singling gregor out early on as someone that would both put up with her nonsense and be a particularly easy and entertaining target of said nonsense. gregor is a Grown Ass Man and thus can take a bit of "harmless" negging but he's also got some pretty obvious weak spots that she can poke and prod at.
i should clarify that i don't think that rodya thinks she's doing something wrong here, to me her actions 100% read as her being under the impression that this is just Part Of Their Friendship, which gregor is partially contributing to by his tendency to shut down in uncomfortable situations. back in c1 after she puts the bugs in his face you actually do get rodya seemingly taking a serious moment to ask if she was taking things too far, but instead of outright telling her that Yes, You Are gregor instead just clams up like he usually does, sealing his fate until he inevitably cracks and blows up on everyone.
i feel like it's Also worth pointing out that, when it comes to his IDs, gregor has been shown as capitulating for a more powerful woman pretty often! chef gregor w/ chef ryoushuu, heir gregor w/ cathy, priest gregor w/ literally just All of the other bloodfiend IDs, rosespanner gregor w/ rosespanner rodya. in the two instances where rodya is highlighted as the one in a position of power over him, we see gregor either believing that she's incompetent and that he's the one thanklessly responsible for keeping the place running (rosespanner) or very clearly struggling and, while getting sympathy from rodya, only gets actually meaningfully helped out by sancho while rodya's too busy concerning herself with loftier, far off means of helping her kindreds.
i could get into more, provide some source based examples and all that nonsense, but i'd really rather avoid facing the ire of their shippers if i can help it, so i'll leave it there. tl;dr i think rodya does actually think of her and gregor as genuine friends, albeit ones where one gets to treat the other like a metaphorical punching bag, but gregor's insistence on being a doormat that can just grin and bear any shit that's thrown at him is going to really come back to bite both of them in the ass down the line. rodya and gregor both Suck Major Ass and they quite possibly do so in the literal worst ways for each other.
once again i promise i love rodya i'm one of the few people on this planet that will defend c2 as being not only good but wholly necessary for getting rodion's Whole Deal across i just don't talk about her as much because My Freak Is Right There
#beargregor's property#limbus company#project moon#lcb gregor#lcb rodion#something to bear in mind#not putting the ship tag in i'm trying so fucking hard not to get people angry at me#guys i promise i love rodya this isn't me trying to say she's a bad character or anything#i just think she sucks and is the worst [SAID WITH LITERALLY SO MUCH FUCKING AFFECTION IN MY HEART.]

I'm a professional screenwriter. I know nobody reading this has any reason to believe that, and I work pretty hard to keep my fandom activity separate from my professional identity, so I'm not going to offer any proof that would doxx me here, believe me or don't. But it's true and I don't just mean I'm trying to get hired as a screenwriter, I mean I am pretty well established in the industry and I've worked on some stuff big enough you've probably heard of it. I've also been active in OFMD fandom for about two years now, since nearly the beginning.
The canyon really freaks me out because seeing it up close makes me worried I've drastically underestimated audiences' empathy gap around characters of color and tendency to sympathize with and excuse the actions of white characters. I've always tried to be conscious about that sort of thing in my work but now that I'm seeing the whole process up close it's so much worse than I always thought.
I think a lot about what I would have done during season 1 of OFMD, if I were in the writers' room and I'd wanted to make sure it would be clear to the audience that Izzy was Ed's abuser and wasn't acting out of secretly sympathetic motives and we're supposed to be genuinely horrified by his actions. I'm in writers' rooms workshopping issues like this all the time. I know the kinds of suggestions I'd make.
Like, if we were worried that the audience would think Izzy's hostility toward Stede was about class instead of homophobia, I might have suggested we make sure Izzy's dialogue never has any reference to Stede's class at all, and that we might do a subplot in one episode where Izzy is equally hostile toward Lucius, since Lucius clearly isn't rich but is extremely gay. But that already happened, and it didn't help.
If I wanted to make sure the audience understood that Izzy is bossing the crew around and screaming at everyone to work harder because he's a petty little bully on a power trip and not because the work actually needs to get done, I might have suggested a scene where Izzy deliberately makes a mess on purpose just so he can order the crew to clean it up. But that already happened, and it didn't help.
If I wanted to make it clear that Izzy has always been awful toward everyone around him -- especially his colleagues of color -- since long before the show started, I might have suggested we repeatedly emphasize throughout the season that while Fang is willing to work with him, he doesn't like or respect Izzy and this is because Izzy has always treated Fang very badly. Have him pull on Fang's beard for no reason and have Fang explicitly say he hates that but knows it wouldn't help to complain. Have Fang tell strangers jokes about times Izzy humiliated himself in public. Have a scene where everybody unanimously VOTES TO MURDER IZZY and someone explicitly stops to ask Fang if he's cool with this and Fang explicitly says yes this is absolutely fine with me and then he actively participates in the murder plan while smiling. But all of that happened and I still see the canyon insisting that Izzy was a much nicer person before the events of s2 when he wasn't under so much stress and has always been liked and respected by the PoC around him, including specifically Fang!
If I were worried that the audience might take seriously the idea that Izzy is motivated by "loyalty to your captain" -- well, honestly I don't think it ever would have occurred to me to worry about that, since he says that in a scene where he's in the middle betraying his captain and I'd probably assume people are capable of picking that up and understanding that when someone says they're abusing you for your own good you should not believe them. But if someone else insisted we address the concern, suggestions I'd make would include: make sure some of the first interactions we see between Ed and Izzy involve Izzy complaining about how he doesn't want to do the job Ed just gave him, then half-assing the mission and lying to Ed's face about it. Show Izzy deliberately undermining Ed to the crew by telling them he's half-insane, then insist to Ed that he's the only one keeping the crew loyal when they're worried about his judgment. But they did that stuff and we still have people thinking Izzy's central motivation throughout season 1 is selfless devotion to Ed.
The show did every single thing I would have suggested, and none of it worked. So what does it say about all the stuff I've already worked on, whenever I've written a scene where a white guy was being a dick to characters of color? Have I just been embarrassingly naive this whole time? Have I undermined my own work by not getting this?
You can't control audience reactions, I know that, that's part of what's great about art, you have to let go and accept that people will interpret things in ways you never intended, I get it. But if it's THIS impossible to choose words that will create the kind of feelings you meant to, what's the point? Is it even possible to write about the kind of abusive relationship Ed and Izzy have, where the white guy thinks he's entitled to control a brown man's life "for his own good" and that the brown guy is obligated to be grateful and reciprocate his "love" and not have a huge group of people creating elaborate justifications for the white guy? What else could they have done? What else can I do, when I'm writing about characters of color? I'm seriously asking. If anybody reading this has advice I want to hear it. What could I do?

↬|Lucifer|
Absolute control. He wants you to be completely reliant on him. Depending on him for everything. You by his side for as long as he’s alive, devoted to him. Lucifer wants to take you away from everyone- including the brothers- and keep you all to himself. He’s insanely possessive and won’t trust any of the brothers not to try anything with you. Lucifer wants to always keep you near him- and that means at his room. He doesn’t trust the other demons and he would never, in a million years, let you out into the Devildom by yourself. He thinks it’s too dangerous. Lucifer wants you to love him back, so completely- that it becomes impossible to be without him. He wants you completely obsessed with him, dependent on him and loving him above all else.
┣━━━━━━━━━━━━━┅┅┅┄┄
↬|Mammon|
Mammon would have a very specific and detailed future in mind with MC. He would want to be by their side forever, showering them with gifts and never letting them go. He would control all aspects of their life - where they go, who they see, what they wear, everything. Mammon would also want to possess every part of MC, keeping them completely under his control. He would stop at nothing to make sure they are always together, and never leave his sight. Mammon’s ultimate goal is complete and total control of MC’s life, making them completely dependent on him. Mammon would also be extremely jealous and possessive of MC, not wanting anyone else to even look at them. He would monitor their phone and social media, checking all messages and interactions. Mammon would constantly need reassurance from MC that they love him, and would get angry if they ever even spoke to anyone else too much. He would try to isolate MC from their friends and family, wanting to be the only important person in their life. Mammon’s version of the future includes only himself and MC, and no one else.
┣━━━━━━━━━━━━━┅┅┅┄┄
↬|Leviathan|
Levi probably has some ideal future scenarios in mind for himself and MC, filled with anime marathons and endless discussions on all things otaku. but on the darker side, his yandere tendencies might manifest into obsession and possession. he may have fantasies of "locking away" MC to keep them all to himself, ensuring they would never leave his side. a toxic combination of jealousy and love.
┣━━━━━━━━━━━━━┅┅┅┄┄
↬|Satan|
Satan has a clear vision of the future he wants with MC. He plans to have MC all to himself, completely and utterly devoted to him, with no room for anyone else in their lives. He wants to control every aspect of MC's life, from what they wear, what they say, who they can interact with. He wants to be the center of their universe, forever and always. He may use manipulative tactics, such as guilt-tripping, gaslighting, or even stalking, to ensure that MC stays by his side and fulfills his every desire.
┣━━━━━━━━━━━━━┅┅┅┄┄
↬|Asmondeus|
Asmodeus is a possessive and jealous demon, he would never want to share his love. He might envision a future where he keeps MC locked away, all to himself, so that no one else could ever have them. He would be constantly possessive and controlling, making sure to keep them close at all times, not allowing them to interact with anyone else but him. He would always make sure that they are dependent on him for everything they need, and shower them with a lot of gifts and affection to keep them happy, but also to keep them reliant on him.
┣━━━━━━━━━━━━━┅┅┅┄┄
↬|Beelzebub|
Beelzebub as a yandere is obsessed with MC and wants a future where they are together and inseparable. His ultimate goal is to keep MC all to himself, completely devoted to him and completely under his control. He will go to extreme measures to ensure MC never leaves his side, including isolating them from friends and family, monitoring their every move, expressing jealousy and possessiveness, and using emotional and psychological manipulation to keep MC dependent on him.
┣━━━━━━━━━━━━━┅┅┅┄┄
↬|Belphegor|
He wants you to be happy, of course, but only by him. He wants you to be happy by his side and only his. You'd be pampered and well taken care of, but you'll be like his possession, his to do as he pleases. He'd be obsessed with you, constantly possessive over you, obsessed to the point of being jealous or even angry if you're friendly with other demons, especially his brothers. He'll never let you live alone as long as he breathes.
┣━━━━━━━━━━━━━┅┅┅┄┄
↬|Diavolo|
Diavolo imagines a future with MC that is absolute perfection. He would want them by his side 24/7, constantly reminding them that they are his and only his. He would ensure they are always safe and happy, while also preventing anyone from stealing them away from him. He also has a possessive side, especially when it comes to MC, and would make sure they never leave his sight. Devildom won't accept a human as his partner? No worries, you can live in a cage in his castle ♡
┣━━━━━━━━━━━━━┅┅┅┄┄
↬|Barbatos|
A future where you are completely dependent on him. He wants you to rely on him completely and trust him unconditionally. He will manipulate and toy with your emotions to make sure you stay. He will be extremely possessive and jealous of anyone who comes near you. He will try to isolate you from friends and family to keep you all to himself. He's obsessive, to the point of stalking and spying on you to make sure he knows everything about your life and whereabouts. He'll likely gaslight you by making you believe that no one else cares about you or your well-being. He will tell you that he's the only one who truly loves and understands you. He'll use emotional manipulation and guilt tripping to keep you under his control. He'll make you feel guilty for wanting to spend time with others, or for having your own interests and hobbies. He'll make sure that he's always around you, and will try to monitor your every move. You may feel like you're constantly being watched.
┣━━━━━━━━━━━━━┅┅┅┄┄
↬|Simeon|
In his mind, he envisions a future where mc is entirely dependent on him, constantly admiring him and completely accepting his will without any resistance. He wants to have absolute control over every aspect of their life, from the way they dress to the people they interacts with. Basically, he wants mc to be completely isolated from everyone else and always be by his side.
┣━━━━━━━━━━━━━┅┅┅┄┄
↬|Solomon|
Solomon would have a very specific future in mind for/with MC. He would want them all to himself and would become extremely jealous if anyone else tries to get close to them. He would constantly want to be around them and would monitor their every move, making sure that they only have eyes for him. In his ideal future, he would have complete control over their life and would not let anyone or anything come between them. This possessiveness may manifest in more extreme behaviors, such as stalking or intimidation, to protect what he considers "his."

The MHA Fandom and How Minoru is written in Fanfics:
So today I wanna talk about a somewhat controversial topic. Let me preface this by saying that I am no means a Minoru Stan. I’m pretty neutral about his character but I completely understand the hate he gets due to his actions.
However, a pet peeve of mine is how people write Minoru in such a negative light that it becomes OOC, especially when they write Katsuki in an extremely positive light when both of them have done extremely shitty things. Let me break down some stereotypes that fanfic writers fall into when writing Minoru:
Homophobic/Quirkist Minoru: Something that is constantly done in MHA to villainize a character they don’t like is to make them either homophobic or quirkist when they aren’t in canon. Focusing on the homophobia part, Minoru’s a victim with this alongside other characters such as Neito and Inko. A lot of authors will write Minoru as this homophobic asshole who sprays out slurs and will bully whichever character(s) has come out. With Minoru, the idea that he’s homophobic comes from him being a sex obsessed person who’s always lusting after women. The thing is, Minoru displays absolutely no homophobic tendencies whatsoever in canon. You know who does? Katsuki. In one of the light novels, he asks Ejiro if he’s ‘into that’ with a disgusted tone when it was revealed Ejiro wore a dress once. Minoru on the other hand has never said anything negative about the LGBTQ+ community. For fics to have Katsuki be the one to defend the LGBTQ+ community and have Minoru be disgusted by it screams “let me villainize Minoru so Katsuki can look good”. In regards to whether he’d be quirkist, that’s also a resounding no. In fact, he apologizes for calling Mezou an octopus after hearing how he’s been discriminated against and tells Izuku that it was his bravery that inspired him rather than his quirk. Minoru also canonically has self confidence issues with his own quirk not being as flashy as other people’s so he’d be more empathetic towards someone who doesn’t have a quirk. Katsuki meanwhile bullied and suicide baiting someone who didn’t have a quirk because he saw him as beneath him.
Coward Minoru: Now, in canon, Minoru is more fearful than his classmates. However, fanon would have you think that he’d abandon his classmates to save his own skin. Canon once again disproves this. During the USJ, he was panicking, for a good reason mind you, but inspired by Izuku taking action even when he was afraid for his own life, he ended up aiding Izuku and Tsuyu in stopping the villains. During the Final Exam, he did initially cower against Midnight. A few moments later, he gathered the courage to not only go against Midnight, but to save his partner Hanta from her clutches. This proves that despite his fear, he wouldn’t leave someone as a result of it. You know who would leave someone? Katsuki. In the Final Exams, Katsuki refused to work together with Izuku to the point of admitting that he’d rather fail. It took Izuku sucking up to him to actually convince him to work with him. When it came time to rescue Katsuki, Izuku knew that he hated him so much that he’d never accept his hand, so he had Ejiro reach out to him instead. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather have Minoru as a teammate than Katsuki.
Now, does this mean I think fanfic writers HAVE to write Minoru in their fics? Absolutely not. Are fanfic writers not allowed to expel him? Again, no. Alongside Katsuki, Minoru’s the easiest character to expel. He’s constantly groping and harassing the female students. All an author needs to do is have one of the girls become so fed up with him that they report him to a teacher. Boom! Problem solved, and it didn’t even involve jumping through hoops to make a character look worse than they actually are. Another way you can remove him is have Shota expel him during the Q.A.T. Minoru, despite his fantastic score in the side step test, scored below the guy whose electricity based quirk can’t help him with any of the exams, the girl with an earphone jack quirk that faces a similar problem, and an invisible girl who struggled to do a pull-up. Shota could look at this, somehow notice him being creepy to one of the female students during the exam, and expel him for these reasons alone. If you wanna remove him from the story later, you can either have one of the girls get the teachers involved or you can say that Minoru decided to drop out of the hero course after experiencing the War Arc or something along those lines. Seriously, it’s not hard.
In conclusion, while I’m not a fan of Minoru, it bothers me how much people will butcher his character just to have a reason to shit on/expel him where there are perfectly reasonable ways of which they can shit on/expel a canon accurate Minoru. It also annoys me when people choose to make Minoru a worse person while simultaneously making Katsuki a better person despite both characters having done some shitty things. While it is Fanfiction and people can do whatever they want, it’s bad writing if you have to change someone’s personality to make them look bad to prop up another character, especially one that isn’t a good person. There are better ways of writing a Katsuki positive story that aren’t lazy and/or cliched.

fun chrom and or robin headcanons? chrobin headcanons?
alternatively what are some widely accepted or constantly brought up things in the awakening fandom that you hate?
my fun headcanon is they try to both be objective and somewhat professional as leaders but when c&r are alone together they love to gossip. you know theyve seen some stuff
Oooh what a fun question! I’m sure as soon as I hit post I’ll remember a bunch more but here’s what I was able to come up with~
Robin: I actually like head-canoning Robin as having ADHD. I could ramble about that for ages tbh but I think they fit the “twice exceptional” profile really well and that a combination of being an anxious perfectionist and having an attention disorder would make a lot of sense given that we know Robin is both very confident in their tactics and intelligence but also prone to workaholic tendencies with pushing themselves to extremes to make sure they’ve thought of everything. I also headcanon Robin as being kind of a slob LOL like I think their room would always be a mess with things strewn everywhere but *they* know where everything is meant to be so don’t even think about moving anything, Frederick >:(
Also this may be obvious from my writing, but I like headcanoning Robin as having darker skin than in canon in large part to circumvent Awakening’s unfortunate tendency to only feature that trait for Plegians who are antagonists. OH! And I love the idea of Robin being touch-starved when the shepherds first find and adopt them too.
Chrom: I headcanon he has very pretty cursive handwriting that he was forced to learn by his tutors growing up; that he low-key kinda likes PDA; that he’s mindlessly touchy with Robin specifically, even before he realizes his feelings; that he has a praise kink; that he is a morning person; and that he’s not particularly religious, despite being….ya know, the exalt of a halidom.
Idk if it’s cheating to also list that I headcanon him as biromantic demisexual (given that I have a whole fic about that) but I’m restating it anyway because that one is very dear to me. Also! I did not come up with this one myself, but I saw a tweet from another Chrobin author once about how they hc that Chrom would abdicate the throne before he gets particularly old to help ensure that Lucina’s coronation is a happy and celebratory event, and I love that idea and thinks it suits both of them really well <3
I think the one you shared is cute and fitting for them too! Both of them take their jobs really seriously so I can absolutely see them making an effort to keep too many court politics out of their work but then debriefing about stuff and laughing at all the stuffy nobles together after to help maintain their sanity.
As for things brought up / widely accepted in the fandom that I dislike and / or strongly disagree with, the three that come most immediately to mind are:
- That Chrom and Robin have a dumb one / smart one dynamic. I think they’re both very competent leaders and that while Robin is clearly the smarter of the two, I’ve always interpreted Chrom as probably having above average intelligence and just being really blunt and kind of oblivious / not tactful in certain delicate social situations which….tbh I fully believe Robin can be guilty of that sort of thing as well LOL
- That the f!Chrobin supports are “objectively” some of the worst in the game”. I can definitely understand and sympathize with some of the complaints about them, but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re my favorite supports in awakening full stop. And I do also think that a subset of the complaints leveled at them are wildly off base
- That male and female Robin have different personalities. I just do not think this is true. I think the differences we see in their supports are pretty much always a direct function of being treated differently by the other character on account of their gender and responding to those differing circumstances accordingly
I have started drafting and ultimately aborted so many posts making arguments for all these points but somewhere along the line I usually remind myself to take a deep breath and that people can enjoy these characters and ships however they want to. Ultimately if I don’t like something, it’s easy enough for me to tune it out and keep doing my own thing and I’ve found fandom has become a lot more pleasant that way LOL
Andddd I think that covers everything? Thanks so much for the ask—I had a lot of fun answering it as probably evidenced by how long this turned out to be asjfk

Matchup exchange with @tigreblvnc
Okay, so it was a bit tough for me to come to a decision since I wanted to give you a completely unexpected answer. But after a lot of thinking, my decision is Chuuya Nakahara.
Let me start by saying that the main reason I chose him is because something in particular really stood out to me in the information you shared: you need a partner who can keep up with your pace and drive. I would say there is no one who could keep up better with you than Chuuya.
Excluding Chuuya; the main options that came to my mind were Osamu and Fyodor; though I eliminated them rather quickly after noticing that I believe you probably would grow frustrated with Osamu due to his laziness (and escapist tendencies) and Fyodor was eliminated next due to the fact that I do not believe Fyodor would like a partner who is as independent and stubborn as you are.
Chuuya can definitely be a hothead, but if there's one thing he is, it's driven. I cannot emphasize this enough—Chuuya is extremely clever and smart despite what the fandom might say about him, and he has even surprised Dazai at times.
I’d also like to add that I see Chuuya as someone who would be attracted to a partner who is headstrong and independent—qualities you definitely exhibit. So, I can fully see you both being drawn to each other rather quickly because of that.
I would say that Chuuya's greatest issue is that he is extremely emotional and passionate, which often blinds him and leads to impulsive actions. Given your analytical and rational nature, I believe you would help him avoid acting impulsively and encourage him to be more measured in his actions.
Both of you share a strong drive and ambition, which I believe would lead to some bickering and perhaps even rivalry at first. But eventually, you would grow to respect each other, leading to healthy competition where you both keep each other motivated to reach your goals.
I can fully see you bonding over your love for outdoor activities since he canonically enjoys them. I could picture you both going camping, hiking, or even snowboarding together.
You mentioned your receiving love language is physical contact, and I would say that Chuuya strikes me as one of the most physically affectionate characters. His displays of physical affection would start slowly to ensure you're comfortable, beginning with holding your hand and gradually evolving into hugs, kisses, and so on.
I will also say that another one of Chuuya's predominant love languages in my opinion is clearly gift-giving; so I can see him surprising you after a long day at work with books you mentioned you wanted or in topics you mentioned you were interested in.
While I believe Chuuya would deeply appreciate your acts of service; after all Chuuya is someone who is used to taking care of others and helping them. I have no doubt he would always be thankful when it comes to the things you do for him, no matter how small they may be.
I can see Chuuya spoiling you. After all, Asagiri himself mentioned that Chuuya is probably one of the best lovers in the cast. Romantic dinners at fancy restaurants would definitely happen.
There would be lots of traveling whenever you're both free! Chuuya strikes me as someone who, while enjoying stability, would also appreciate a bit of adventure every once in a while.
You would definitely own a dog or two.
Lastly, regarding your enneagrams - I would like to add something. I believe Chuuya is an 8w7, and you are a 3w4. Type 8s and 3s are often drawn to each other due to their strong personalities. They form a powerhouse duo, learning a lot from each other. While there may be competition at times, they tend to be supportive of each other's goals and naturally become allies, which I think would apply to you both.

Yaaaayyy I love your answer. Do you think Bruce sees cas as better than him, as in he has a flaw he should be working toward correcting, or himself as better than her, and her needing to learn more about the world/not be naive when it comes to how Cas’s “nobody dies” code is more absolute than his in that it extends to people given the death penalty?
And yeah, I really like taking the situation at it is (no nuance and he doesn’t get to pick himself) but the only way I can imagine it is some kind of horrible set up with a mind reader reading Bruce’s thoughts and using those to come to a decision, or Bruce is on some kind of drug. I don’t think it could ever be him actively, with a clear head, saying a name out loud. Just does not compute for me. Thinking about the aftermath is it’s own horrible thing
So glad you asked about Batman no kill rule because I think there are a lot of misunderstandings in the fandom space about it!!
Quick Disclaimer, I will be talking pretty much exclusively abt preboot, and drawing heavily from Bruce and Cass’s relationship in Batgirl (2000)
For one, Batman is against the death penalty. Probably.
One of the first comics I read that got me really interested in Batman as a character and his fucked up psyche was Detective #630 “And The Executioner wore Stiletto Heels”.
Hugely recommend reading this to get a grasp on how Batman doesn’t actually have a “No Kill” rule, he has a “No Death” rule. Obviously this is backed up by more than just this comic, (I take his resuscitation of the joker in last laugh as another solid example of this), but I find Det #630 super interesting because it does in fact examine Bruce Wayne’s thoughts on the death penalty, which he is against, enough so that it’s implied he allows the escape of an assassin who otherwise would have been put to death.
That said, I don’t think Cass is more extreme than him with her “nobody dies” thought process.
To get into how I think Batman sees Cass I’m going to ramble a bit on how I think their relationship works.
The reason Batman clicks with Cass so much is their analogous backstories.
When Bruce was 9, his parents died in front of him, and he feels guilty about it, even though there was obviously nothing a 9 year old child could have done differently to save his parents. No one else expects him to have saved them, but himself. He feels like he failed them, and that feeling of powerlessness and guilt drives him to save lives, to prevent more tragedy.
When Cass was 9, she killed a man. She instantly also experiences this guilt reaction, and again, it’s unreasonable to blame Cassandra for her “failure” at this age. Who could expect the 9 year old to understand what murder was when she was never taught? She was raised by an abusive father and her only form of communication was violence. She had no way of knowing what she was doing, but she still managed to grasp afterwards how wrong it was and despite having no frame of reference for where she was headed or what was out there in the world, runs away from the only family she’s ever known. As I mentioned, that original guilt and helplessness haunts her, much like it does Batman.
(Cass’s resolute belief that everyone deserves to live stems from her own overwhelming guilt for the life she took at age 9. Her resolute belief that everyone deserves a chance to be good and change comes from her desperation to believe that this applies to herself as well, that she has changed and is now good.)
They have super similar, but also simultaneously directly contrasting backstories. 9 year old Bruce Wayne is a victim who watches a murder helplessly, while 9 year old Cassandra Cain commits a murder.
And when it comes to how Bruce sees Cass, I think it’s this similarity in driving original motivation which he approves of. He’s smugly happy with how similar Cass is to him even (some would say especially) with his self sacrificial tendencies that they share.
He sees them as totally the same, she is a reflection of him, the Batman part of him specifically.
When he disapproves of Cass, it’s almost always because she is proving him wrong by acting like an independent and separate person (which she is).
When she has a social life and briefly dates Superboy, for instance.
Or when she stops following orders exactly and checking in, for example.
Or, most notably, when he finds out she killed a man when she was 9.
The first two examples hinder his whole “cassandra is exactly the same as me” mindset. He doesn’t like confronting the fact that Cass is able to have a social life and healthy relationships while he has to believe that he cannot and does not need them. Likewise, he doesn’t like when she doesn’t listen to him because if they were the same she would understand and obey him.
But that final distinction, the murderer Cass commits as a child, is this huge final wedging point for Bruce.
He has built so much of his identity around this Batman does not kill rule, this huge statement about who he is and what he stands for.
Cassandra cain can, in no way, be the same as him if she killed a man.
It breaks his premise.
Which is why, when he finds out she killed someone, he immediately and fervently denies it, even in the face of video evidence.
All this to say, Batman seems to see Cass generally as “as morally good” as him so long as she is acting in a way he can see in himself, and seems to disapprove of her when their differences are pointed out to him.
So I don’t think he thinks she is “too extreme” with her “no kill/no death” stance, I think his main approval/disapproval is around her similarity to or difference to him.
Sorry if this is really rambly, hope this answers your question!!

You’re alive again!! Welcome back from the Abyss!! I have to ask, what got you into svsss?? Did you have any other fandoms before that?
i have risen again, yes! hello! currently looking for shizun if anyone has any idea where i might find him? this tall: 🤏. he's clearly gay but we haven't had the talk yet
i've never really engaged in fandom properly before. i've been a fan of a lot of media and bands, but i never sought out a community to join. i wrote some fanfic for the shows, books and games i've enjoyed, but i've yet to post (or finish, for that matter) anything. i've always kept myself fandom-adjacent. i'm a bit of a hermit sometimes, so that suited me just well.
(cut cause like. damn i talk a lot)
in high school i was absolutely in love with haikyuu (still am, in a way) and then found some more anime i enjoyed. snowballed from there, got into genshin for a bit, persona series, final fantasy, etc. i found mdzs randomly and watched the donghua, then i read the books, then tgcf, then erha, then either dvawtk or misvil (my memory isn't the best, i fear) and finally found svsss when someone posted something to the effect of, "they fuck to save the world" which was (and is) an extremely intriguing thing to hear.
i read svsss and decided it was exactly the shade of complicated i liked, so i got into reading and later writing meta for it, to try and figure out shen qingqiu properly. since i kept seeing the "i wish i could study him like a bug" thing and was extremely confused and thought i was missing something, i kind of just ran with it.
(i wasn't missing much about shizun, but i was definitely missing a lot about binghe and the way he works. that was both fun and ego-destroying. i both love and hate how much he mirrors some of my tendencies. a lot of themes that i had just a vague idea of, also! there are a lot of great analyses in this fandom, it's like my own personal heaven.)
when i finally got around to my third reading of the extras volume and the whole "original outline binghe" thing actually caught my attention properly, i decided i really wanted to try and reverse engineer his characterisation. which is a work in progress, but i'm really enjoying it. i just need to move from diagram phase to actually writing stuff down in a proper form and not just. notes scattered across my room. that's gonna take a bit, i reckon.
there's a lot of media and bands i was a fan of before haikyuu, but those are better left forgotten, honestly. and that brings us to today!
i'm mostly just nostalgia-watching my favourite shows and movies, writing fanfic, contemplating bingqiu, and being devoted to my husband-wife-mommy-fatherfigure shizun, as is my binghe-kinnie right.
#svsss#this got out of hand but it's pretty much all of it#shizunitis lore#<- is what i'm calling this one#.q

so i think a lot of the really, REALLY bad takes in AtLA fandom are frequently driven by shipping discourse, not because a given ship is necessarily bad (since, ultimately, that's more about the context of the relationship and how it is written), but because the worst takes are often motivated by certain assumptions about a character that are the result of closed circle ideas about a character circulating until they replace actual canon for that character, and the biggest example of it all is Zuko.
In my experience, the absolute WORST takes on Zuko in particular come from a fundamental misunderstanding of his character; most frequently, that he is a mature person, and specifically more mature than Aang or the other members of Team Avatar.
I think a lot of that comes from his superficial characteristics; he's pragmatic, often relatively ruthless, has a fairly dark backstory and has become embittered and angry as a result of his personal experiences. A lot of these traits are part and parcel of archetypes that the most prevalent fandom misinterpretations identify with Zuko; the dark and edgy bad boy, the brooding antihero, and a LOT of shipping archetypes. Zuko's explosive temper, tendencies to resort to violence and his ruthlessness are all common elements of characters that are usually depicted as inherently more mature, experienced and smarter than more optimistic characters, such as Aang. So this is where you get a lot of fandom based on the assumption that Zuko is mature while Aang is inexperienced and naive.
The problem is Avatar's writing VERY STRONGLY points to precisely the opposite conclusion; that Zuko's temper, ruthless 'do whatever it takes to get the job done' perspective and so on are signs of LACK of wisdom.
The antagonists of the series (Zuko in early season 1, Zhao, Azula, Ozai, General Fong and others) are heavily characterized by their overwhelming pride, ruthlessness and either a willingness to do terrible things to achieve their goals, and extremely often a key part of this is their pride, and explosive outrage at that pride being besmirched. This isn't universal (Fong and Long Feng aren't as outwardly prideful in this specific way) but from Azula almost blowing up for having a hair out of place, Zuko constantly screaming at the slightest percieved offense in Book 1, and Ozai consistently being depicted as murderously arrogant and defensive about his ego to the point of coming off as an absurdly violent man-child, it comes up a LOT in Fire Nation antagonists and across the series in general.
In contrast, the character who are consistently depicted as wise or outright STATED to be wise don't care that much about looking silly or ridiculous. Aang and Iroh are the most explicit examples, but we see it in the Air Nomad elders (whom don't seem particularly put off by having pies catapaulted at them) and Monk Gyatso, as well as the members of the White Lotus (plus or minus Pakku, but at least he grows out of it, notably before he properly settles into his role as the master to both Aang and Katara in combat Waterbending), as well as Kanna.
They take hits or get humiliated or embarrassed, and they barely blink. They go with the flow, and don't blow up over their dignity (again, Pakku notably being portrayed as a wise master AFTER he ceases his defensiveness). As such, while Zuko can feel a lot like the sort of characters that are usually depicted as experienced and hardened by harsh experiences, he instead overwhelmingly has those same traits show him to be immature; all in all, I think that one of the biggest mistakes is believing that Zuko is generally correct in a lot of situations, or at the very least seeing these characteristics mark him as a Mature Cool Guy, rather than someone who has a LOT of maturity to get.
One key part of this is the Southern Raiders; while Zuko is often characterized in fandom as being explciitly correct in his initial belief that Katara needed to get revenge to find closure, Zuko himself winds up admitting at the end of the episode that Aang was explicitly and indisputably correct; regardless of whether or not a given person might feel differently, that IS the intended narrative takeaway, and it also goes to show that even by the end of the series, Zuko's most definitely not the mature person that some people in fandom assume he is; the very same traits that get people to think he's mature are, in the context of the show, indicators of his LACK of maturity and wisdom.

That long anon about being a Larrie was really interesting. I am not and never was a Larrie, in fact I only got into Harry during Fine Line times. But what the anon said about feeling lonely is really true and I think is at the heart of fandom in a way for many people.
I am married, with children, and a job, and friends (who don't know I write things to anonymous people on Tumblr!) but at that time of my life, late 2019, I was depressed. It wasn't an outward loneliness. It was entirely inside myself. I had never been part of a fandom, just because I wasn't that online, so it was all new and exciting. I became absolutely obsessed with all things Harry, and finding that there were other people my age feeling the same was incredibly distracting from the realities of my unhappiness. (Exacerbated by the pandemic I suppose!)
It never got to a level where I couldn't function, but there were a few times my husband would take the kids out and rather than do something healthy, I'd think 'Great, I can watch Harry on YouTube!' Is that unhealthy? It was some sort of a coping mechanism. Better than drinking, I guess?
I'm a lot happier now and actually still as obsessed. The hrought has calmed things down for all of us, I think, but I know it's temporary. As secret hobbies go, it feels harmless. I think I'm lucky in that I don't have conspiracy theorist tendencies, because I can see exactly how it could consume a mind that's feeling in need of...a little more of something.
Yes, this resonates with me too! I totally use fandom as a coping mechanism. For the most part, it's a healthy one which has enriched my life and brought me wonderful friendships (some of which have lasted decades).
Unlike you, I've been a lifelong obsessive music fan, and at times in my teens it definitely was not healthy. I learned a lot from my extreme, unhealthy early experience of fandom which I took into all future fandoms. But there have definitely still been times throughout my adult life where I've relied too heavily on fandom as a distraction from difficult things in my life. Times where I've been really preoccupied by things that just do not matter in the wider scheme of things. And like you said, there are times where I've thought, "I should probably really be doing something else right now" :) But at the same time, as distractions from difficulties go, I agree it's pretty harmless!
For me, online fandom is a welcome respite from all the noise and activity of my regular life - fandom is something that is just mine. Like you, I have a pretty busy life and it's very social (sorry to disappoint my remaining trolls lol). I've got a big extended family, I'm lucky to have lots of friends, and I have a socially-demanding job which often feels very performative (I'm sure a lot of people can relate to that - whether its customer-facing jobs, sales, or being a teacher or lecturer or whatever; that sense of having to "perform" your role in order to engage people).
All those interpersonal interactions are vital but there's no doubt they can be exhausting. You can control your interactions online and decide when you want to "talk" and what you want to talk about. Whereas with friends or family or colleagues you can be ambushed by questions or conversations that you just might not have the emotional bandwidth for at a particular moment. "How is your [family member] doing since their operation?"/"OMG have you had that meeting with your supervisor yet? How did it go?? Did you come up with a plan??"/"Do you still fancy that thing we promised we'd do? We really need to book soon, can you decide and do it? What day?" ... And that's without factoring in the endless demands of parenting!
When you feel low or you're depressed or struggling with something, it's such a respite to retreat to the online space where everyone is focused on that one thing that makes you happy, and you can control what you want to share and when you want to share it.
This was especially true for me in this fandom. I was seriously depressed when my fascination with 1D and 1D fandom started. In all my previous fandoms, I shared my obsessions with my real life friends and involved them in everything (whether they liked it or not! :)) With 1D/Harry Styles, it was my little secret, and I fiercely protected it. Not just because it would have been misunderstood (it was - my friends just assumed I was joking or being funny about it), but because it was mine. Just mine! It took five years before I agreed to meet any Harry Styles fans in real life and far longer until I contacted them outside Tumblr. I'm so glad I did, but I completely get the impulse to protect your "secret hobby". And I'm also very, very glad that - so far!! - I'm not susceptible to conspiracy theories. It's always wise to stay on your toes, though ;)

what sort of relationship does Iceland have with Canada & America? From wiki it tells me that Canada’s the big destination, but it’s paltry to the number of Katya’s people. I also think America was among the first to recognize Icelandic independence after one of the world wars? So, just what are those relationships like? if there even are relationships.
Okay, so to prelude this, I was very very interested in medieval Scandinavia and had an extremely cringy phase of being a practitioner of Scandinavian reconstructions of Norse Paganism and most of my knowledge comes from the Icelandic Saga's or Íslendingasögur and other related interests I carried before it became even more tightly linked with neo-nazism and other absolutely disgusting racist tendencies as was especially relevant to me in Canada and the US but elsewhere as well. So my knowledge does lean into their world before Alfred even exists. Also, I have only minimally interacted with the side of the fandom of the Scandinavians so I'm not overly familiar with what takes are out there so if I contradict fandom or anything else, I didn't mean to. That said, lets go a-viking to Vinland I fucken guess.
With Matt, I'd say there's some importance with the Icelandic immigration. For example, skyr as a dairy product was available and known to Canadians and made in Canada for generations before it was in the US. There's tons of Icelandic-Canadians in Winnipeg/Manitoba. There's also a lot of awareness of Iceland and its ties to Vinland/L'Anse aux Meadows. Also the odd headline about Iceland using Canada's currency when the banking issues went bad. Egill has probably seen the dual nature of Matt as Arthur's favourite knife and his more subdued version. So, barring further research into the Canadian occupation of 1940-1941 I think there's a level of trust there? Certainly familiarity. A random fun-fact is how heavily the initial Norwegian settlers just blazed through the existing trees on Iceland. I can see Egill with distant memories of the sacred ash tree Mímameiðr or Yggdrasill putting a hand out to the great Canadian old growths with a bit of reverence. He might quote the saga's to Matt and Alfred. Ber er hver að baki nema sér bróður eigi. Your back is vulnerable without a brother. Quite literally for both of them.
As for Alfred and Egill, Iceland is important in a way that far outsizes its population or immigration. It's geo-thermal capacities means its the cheapest and most secure data centre in the western world. The same location that brought Iceland into the Scandinavian world a thousand years ago is the same one that makes it invaluable to NATO and more generally to North American and North Atlantic security. Egill can do whatever the fuck he wants, including not having a functional military beyond a 200-odd person civilian coast guard and Alfred can't say shit. My step mom is 2nd gen and her parents have a very very mixed opinion of the US. They admire it, enjoy our hardworking culture and open friendliness in contrast to how closed off Íslendingar themselves are. They both remember the controversy about being in NATO. So I think Egill would recognize dark things in Alfred even as much as they enjoy each other's company. Egill would roll his eyes when Alfred asks yet again about elves but Alfred, a child of the witch-years might seriously give him pause when he asks about Egill's fylgjur. I can see them being fond of each other. I do think there is something of an uneasy relationship there. The great superpower and the valuable and respected but still tiny island country it's dependent on. Also their relationships with Arthur and Sigurd might be a point of commonality. The colony who broke free and became an empire and the colony who was born a commonwealth and then retaken into Norwegian and later Danish and Swedish monarchy would make for a very interesting duo.
#the ask box || probis pateo#Egill || Fár bregður hinu betra ef hann veit hið verra.#matthew || my country is winter#alfred || o beautiful for spacious skies#hws iceland#hws canada#hws america#do i dare tag this with the characters? with a heart of steel clamber onto the overturned keel i fucken guess

Hey, I'm really sorry about my response to your post earlier. I really wasn't trying to be hurtful or take you in bad faith (as I said, the post was overall very good), but I think I came off a lot harsher than I meant to.
I understand that there is an instinct in the discussion of generative images to protect artists from false accusations, particularly those that have styles that could be mistaken by people with the perfectly wrong combination of zealotry and ignorance; I've seen more than one artist endure accusations from those who think they are doing a service (photobashers, surrealists, and hyper-realists getting the brunt of it) but don't have the knowledge to back up their investigation. A lot of people very mistakenly think that an image being "too good" is a red flag, even when the artist has a visible history of posting images of a similar quality.
I probably could have done better than providing just an example of what I meant and actually explained how to establish unifying themes and techniques. I am personally one of those artists who has an extremely varied style-- I vacillate between simple geometrics, painterly, and cartoonish like a broken metronome, but there are still a lot of unifying elements (fandoms/subject matter, tendency to favor curved strokes that abruptly transition to straight lines, saturated colors) that make things pretty identifiably mine. Meanwhile, the shop example displays no such unity, vacillating from hyper-realistic grungy portraits to ukiyo-e to vivid popart with no way to connect the image to a person behind it.
Because, well, there wasn't one.
Anyway, you're good. It just gets very frustrating when hypotheticals get in the way of people actually learning to recognize these things. Fellow artists, trust me: a single wrong accuser will absolutely never "cancel" you, because the truth and intent behind your work and the very strokes that hold it together is evident.

i love ask games too bro
can you do Rachel and Finn for the breakdown thing
yay! my Beloveds!
RACHEL:
How I feel about this character:
I love her. She's insufferable, she's sincere, she's funny, she's most definitely autistic, she really is The Character. She's not my absolute favourite, but she's up there, and Glee would unequivocally not be what it is without her.
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
To be honest, Finn is my first and main choice for her. I just love Finchel...
otherwise, none of the other canon characters really call out to me as a partner to her. Maybe an OC.
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
Kurtchelcedes for the win! I love the divas being besties. I reckon they watch all the major award shows together, and make predictions and be delightful.
My unpopular opinion about this character:
Both popular fandom interpretations have correct elements; she's a double-edged sword. Yes, she's a passionate, ambitious and quite possibly autistic young woman who has been a victim of constant and often vicious bullying, and I think she's also an self-serving, insufferable theatre kid with egomaniac tendencies and occasionally extreme reactions to being upstaged. Both are correct. She's complicated.
ALSO, my unpopular opinion is that I don't hate Season 3B for her. A lot of people complain about her being willing to defer her application for Finn and Kurt, or consider somewhere other than New York to study, because 'oh, she's acting OOC, she cares about Finn more than her dreams, what happened to crackhouse!Rachel', and while I do think that Rachel throwing away her dreams for a man (which she wasn't really, she still had every intention of being a star) isn't necessarily a good thing, the disappearance of crackhouse!Rachel is. Rachel learning to take other people's feelings into consideration--especially the feelings of the man she plans to marry--is a GOOD THING. Rachel being willing to be adaptable is a GOOD THING. Thank you.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Of course, I wish that she'd managed to have an ending with Finn--not necessarily RM's ending, but an ending, maybe in one of the non-Manhattan New York suburbs.
On a side note, I wish we'd seen her participate in more community theatre--maybe do local productions, or something.
FINN:
How I feel about this character:
Finn is one of my absolute favourites, along with Mercedes. He's a very realistic teenager, and I think he's honestly the main character of Glee.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Rachel mostly, but in the reality where I can't ship any of my main ships (I once worked out what my Glee ships would be if I couldn't ship any of the OTP's) would honestly have to be Finncedes. I think they'd hit it off.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Honestly, Finn and any of the guys. I love when the guys are just hanging out doing guy stuff--like helping Puck study, or ambushing him on a pool cleaning job.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Very little that he does falls out of the realm of 'things a teenage boy might do'. Sure, that might make him a jerk at times--and he is a jerk at times--but he's not an extra-special form of Super Jerk Worst Character Ever
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
aside from the tragically obvious, I really wish that he'd just apologise to Santana for outing her. That would have been so easy, and I think it would have made the whole thing feel so much more natural--you can see already that he's already aware that he did the wrong thing and is attempting to make it up to her, and it would be much better if he'd just apologised as well. Especially since he's apologised for most other egregiously wrong things he's done, usually immediately after the fact.

if this were a fandom, where would the discourse be
discourse would be EVERYWHERE.
i think the biggest flares would be around brinne and rowen because that’s where the political meat is and also where the decisions become the most morally gray. the people love their ship discourse too, and i think brinndrian would quench their thirst more than enough.
brinne is a very mentally ill young adult given an extraordinary amount of power immediately following a lifechanging traumatic event. she is a terrible ruler and cannot bring herself to care about the people she oppresses. but she also has no support system or anyone to help her be better; if anything, everyone around her only encourages her worst tendencies. especially considering how she’d be working against centuries of propaganda and cultural bias, hope for her improving idris as she once wanted to are virtually futile in these conditions. essentially: she doesn’t stand a chance.
of course, fandoms generally cannot handle nuance like that. there’d probably be two camps, one that excuses brinne’s actions as a result of her mental illness and trauma, and one that entirely vilifies her and her decisions. brinne is a product of her parents and idrisian society, as well as of the trauma artemis gave her. her actions are absolutely explainable, but far from excusable. reading people’s takes on brinne would probably kill me.
i think something similar would emerge with rowen. people would either fully agree with her tunnel vision philosophy or lose all faith in her because some of her actions are morally reprehensible. rowen is acting in the name of an extremely benevolent group. but like- she mutilated a teenage girl who she thought was already dead just to make a symbol of it and relish in her victory. she works as an assassin because it brings the rebellion greater resources than other jobs. she manipulates vulnerable children into joining her rebellion. that’s really awful shit!!! and again, i don’t think fandom could handle it. rowen is the hero of this story. but she is also a terrible person.
brinndrian would also be super controversial because of the Everything, but mostly the power dynamics. by virtue of being the monarch, brinne has a lot of political and social power over adrian. this majorly impacts their relationship and adrian’s feelings of needing to please brinne throughout their adolescence. eventually it also contributes to the dynamics of their sexual relationship. however, by virtue of being the high priest, adrian has religious power over brinne. this doesn’t really affect anything during their adolescence, but once he is actually named the high priest and brinne tries to become more devout, it absolutely is impactful, especially considering that this is a time where adrian desperately craves contact with her. they have some fucked up chapel sex about it. so again, fandom wouldn’t take that too well.
other more minor discourse points include: vanta and octavius’s weird subtextual gay thing going on because vanta is 15 and octavius is 18. brinne and kori’s arranged marriage because kori is 17 and brinne is 22. the grace/natal/lennox incestuous love triangle. the power dynamics of rograce. whether lennox is justified in his usurpation. if all the nobles deserve to die or not. author’s political views.

Wanna know my thing with Alexis? The way other characters talk about her reminds me a lot of my older sister. Which I've mentioned on my blog and might give me away but honestly I don't think anyone's paid enough attention to know who I am off the top of their heads
My older sister, growing up, was a bully. Mostly to me, but she had a tendency to be harsh with her friends every so often too. My family always joked that we took turns being on her bad side. When she'd snap at one of us for something, the rest of us would say (after she was gone), "Well, looks like it's your turn."
But here's the thing, my sister is also really loving. Like, she'll go absolutely Mama Bear on my behalf if I get messed with and she's not the one doing the messing around. She knows how to actually get gifts for our family most of whom are impossible to shop for and it drives me crazy for holidays. She goes out of her way to help her friends or take them some food when they're feeling off, and she does it without being asked. Sometimes she'll text me just "Wanna go get a milkshake?" now that we don't live in the same house together anymore out of the blue because she knows I love milkshakes
So, like, obviously I understand Sam's feelings regarding what happened to him and I think his anger is valid and he has a right to it
But when Vincent talked about Alexis one time and mentioned "she was such a hellion that William swore he'd never turn another one," he sounded almost amused. Not frustrated or angry. I know her turning Sam kinda drove a wedge between Vincent and Alexis but I genuinely don't think he hates her. He's not mad... just disappointed
So, like, while I'd probably hold a certain distrust for her if we ever get to meet her in the prime universe until proven not to be warranted, I definitely don't hate her. and the double standard is annoying and extreme. She hasn't even had a chance to speak for herself in the prime universe so I, personally, think people are being too hard and also jumping the gun.
Anyway, you don't have to answer this if you don't want to. Just wanted to throw in a little thought while I saw the discussions on your blog <3
Thank you for being awesome, Ginger! I've admired you since before I started posting for the Redacted fandom, iirc <3
[rapturous applause]
#anon you are so based for this#i have nothing to add to the contents of this post i really enjoy it#and you make a very good point about not taking the scripts at face value and listening for the nuance in HOW the lines are delivered#so thank YOU for being awesome anon!!#much love to you (and your sister)!! 💕💕💕#ginger speaks to anons#🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶
