(ps i was so close to naming this Rewrite the Stars but since this has absolutely nothing to do with The Greatest Showman i didn’t. but i was close,,,,so fucking close)
You always knew Jeon Jungkook was destined for great things.
It was written in the stars, your mother had told you after he had first stepped foot into your family-owned grocery store. Your mother didn’t have any special powers, she just had a thing for astrology. While you normally shrugged off her random proclamations about divine intervention and planetary alignments, you found that Jungkook was something you couldn’t ignore or chalk up as your mother’s latest tea leaf reading.
From the moment you set eyes on him you knew he was different. While your family held zero claim to any sort of mystical or magical inclinations, you were well aware of those who did. It was no secret that non-humans roamed the Earth in plain sight, even though it had taken humans eons to realize this. After years of savage wars and civil unrest, agreements had come into place and governing bodies were adjusted to accept the changes that had finally been made. But, this was all before your time. You were the generation that was born into the period of peace, the first children to not experience bloodshed before they could walk. The world you knew now was almost a complete one-eighty of what it had been.
Where before those who were not of human blood had to do everything they could to blend in, now could be free of the shadows. Your classrooms had both humans and non-humans in their rosters. Some of your teachers were hybrids. Curriculum expanded to teach humans about a world that had once been entirely unknown to them. One of your favorite teachers was a witch who regaled your tenth grade class with stories of goblin wars, wizard duels, and vampire covens. All tales that you had once thought were nothing but fiction were now anything but.
Which is why, the second Jeon Jungkook entered the grocery store that your parents owned and that you had worked at since you were old enough to speak in full sentences, you knew who he was. You didn’t even question it.
He was a werewolf. A powerful one. You could see it in the way he carried himself. The purposeful strides he took down the narrow aisles, the confidence in his broad shoulders. Humans weren’t nearly as sensitive as their hybrid counterparts but you also paid attention in your classes. Or, perhaps you were more aware than other humans. Never in your life did you have the issues other faced when meeting a non-human for the first time. You always knew who they were without them having to tell you. You just knew.
So, when Jeon Jungkook stepped up to your register with a bottle of water and some raw beef, you didn’t flinch. Didn’t bend under his dark gaze or shuffle your feet in an awkward attempt to break the silence. Instead, you flashed him your customer service smile and rang up his items. He didn’t say a word as he paid, barely sparing you a second glance as he strode out of the store.
“He’s going to be a great and powerful man,” your mother said in that feathery light voice of hers. “It was written in the stars.”
You couldn’t help but agree.
Jeon Jungkook came into your store everyday for the next month. He bought the same thing every time. A bottle of water and a package of raw beef. The only time he spared you any words was to say thank you or the occasional hello if the sun was shining. Usually, he was alone. Sometimes, he came with a few members of his pack. You liked those days. He smiled a little brighter and talked a little louder when they were around. Especially around Taehyung.
Then, after a month, he didn’t come in. Not for an entire week. From Monday to Sunday, you hadn’t seen a hide nor hair of him. A part of you was worried, so worried that you almost stopped Taehyung in the middle of the street to ask of Jungkook’s whereabouts before realizing how insane that made you look, the other part was chastising yourself for caring. Jeon Jungkook was a customer. Nothing more, nothing less.
The following Monday had come and you had finally stopped glancing at the sliding doors every five minutes. You no longer expected his commanding presence to rock your little world. Instead, you continued your day as if it had been any other. That was, until, Jeon Jungkook stepped through the entrance looking as if he was walking on air. It didn’t take a genius to figure out why.
“Did you have a good heat?” You asked when he stepped up to your register. Jungkook fumbled the water bottle he had been setting onto the conveyer belt before turning to stare at you.
“What did you just say?”
You didn’t shrink under his intense glare. “I was asking if you enjoyed your heat. Seems like you did.”
“How do you know I was in my rut?”
“Oh, is rut the correct terminology? Sorry, they always interchanged them in class, I was never sure what was appropriate.” You shrugged and rang up his items. “It was kind of obvious, though. You seemed pretty agitated about a week-and-a-half ago, then you disappear for a week, and now you’re back looking happier than ever. If it wasn’t your rut then I want to know where you went on vacation because that’s where I’m heading to next.”
Jungkook laughed. That almost made you jump out of your skin. You had never heard him laugh before. It was throaty, it was deep, and it was wonderful. “I’ll be sure to send you the link to the Airbnb.”
“And how do you plan on doing that?”
He smirked. “I’m here every day, aren’t I?”
You tilted your head as you accepted the cash he handed to you. “Clearly, you’re not that reliable.”
Jungkook laughed again. It was becoming your new favorite sound. “My apologies. I didn’t mean to appear flaky.”
“You’re forgiven,” you decided as you handed him the plastic bag of his purchases. Teasingly, you added, “just make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
He flashed you a smile that showed off his sharpened canines. “Don’t worry, darling. I never make the same mistake twice.”
Jeon Jungkook kept his promise. He showed up everyday, like clockwork. Bought the same thing. Arrived at the same time. The only thing that changed was how he treated you. It wasn’t that he treated you badly before, he had always been polite. But now, he talked to you. He asked you questions and answered yours. More often than not, he laughed.
(It had become your favorite sound.)
For three months, this continued. The two of you had settled into a comfortable routine, something you relied on and expected. Until, he changed that.
Until, Jeon Jungkook asked you out on a date.
“What did you just say?”
“Are you free? Tonight?” You glanced around, almost expecting to see some sort of supermodel posing behind you to explain the absolute absurdity of the situation. “What are you doing?”
“Looking for the hidden cameras. I think I’m getting Punk’d.”
Jungkook sighed and placed both hands on the counter that separated the two of you. “Look at me.” You did. Slowly and warily, but you did. “Does it look like I’m lying to you?”
Narrowing your eyes, you regarded him carefully. He seemed serious. But, then again, do you ever really know someone? “I don’t know. I’ve never actually seen you lie before so I wouldn’t know the difference.”
“Fine. Ask me what color my shirt is.”
“What color is your shirt?”
“White,” he deadpanned. You glanced down at his chest. His shirt was black.
“Jungkook!”
He threw his head back and released a full bellied laugh. Even in your exasperation you couldn’t help but soften a little. “I’m sorry, darling. I couldn’t help myself.” Annoyed, you huffed and spun to face the cash register. Stabbing your finger onto the touchscreen, you ignored Jungkook’s obvious presence on the opposite side of the counter. Until his hand reached around the card reader and grasped a hold of your chin. The warmth of his fingers forced your head to turn to meet his.
“Come to dinner with me.” His voice was nothing but a rumble in his chest, his eyes so black and all-consuming you couldn’t do anything but agree with him. He seemed pleased by your response as his fingers tightened against your skin and a grateful smile flicked past his lips. His gaze darted down to your mouth and your breath froze in your chest.
“Are you going to kiss me?”
Jungkook raised an eyebrow. “Do you want me to?”
“No.” You tried to shake your head but his grip didn’t allow you much movement. He was taken aback by your answer, a small frown tugging at his mouth. You quickly backtracked to fix the situation. “I don’t want our first kiss to be in a grocery store. That’s a new low that I refuse to reach.”
Jungkook chuckled and tapped your chin gently. “Alright, darling. I’ll pick you up at seven.”
Again, he kept his promise to you. He showed up at your parents house exactly at seven, wearing a button-down shirt and slacks. The tulips he had gotten for you was thrust into your hands the moment you opened the door. Flashing him a genuine smile, you hurried into the kitchen to set them in water while your mother grilled him on his birth time. You were quick to drag him away, practically throwing him towards the car as you waved goodbye.
“Sorry,” you sighed as Jungkook opened the passenger door for you. “She has a…thing for astrology. She’s probably creating your star map or whatever right now.”
“It’s okay,” he responded once he got into the drivers seat. “It’s sweet of her to care.”
You snorted. “She’s delusional is what she is.”
“So, you’re saying you don’t believe in astrology?”
“Do you?”
Jungkook shrugged as he pulled out of your dirt driveway. He looked so damn attractive behind the wheel it was honestly unfair. “Not really saying I do or don’t. All I know is that there are a lot of things out there that are out of our control. If believing in the stars and planets helps you gain some of that control back, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.”
“God, don’t talk like that in front of my mother. She’ll want to start dating you.”
He grinned and placed a hand on your knee. “Tell her I’m already taken.”
You didn’t get a chance to respond to that. Not that he didn’t give you one, it was just that you literally had nothing to say. With just one sentence he opened the floodgates of your brain and the amount of thoughts that were flying through your conscious was painful. Anxiety fluttered in your stomach and you pressed your lips together to keep you from word vomiting onto him. No, it was better to keep your mouth shut and let the moment pass.
By the time you reached the restaurant you were a trembling mess of nerves. Were you guys dating? You thought this was just a ‘testing the waters’ date, not a ‘you’re my girlfriend now’ date. Did you have to make it Facebook official? You hated that shit.
Jungkook didn’t comment on your obvious distress, though. He merely placed a hand on the small of your back, ignoring how you jerked in surprise, and led you into the quiet bistro. Nodding politely to the hostess who was practically panting at the sight of him (you honestly couldn’t blame her) and pulled out your chair for you. When he sat down, he started talking. Idle chat at first. Commenting on one of the dishes, asking about the college classes you were taking at your local university. Before you realized it, wine was in your glass and your shoulders were loose. Previous nerves forgotten, you lost yourself in Jungkook. You drank, you ate, you laughed, and genuinely enjoyed his company. Honestly, it was the best date you’d ever been on.
“I have to be honest with you,” Jungkook spoke after he finished his raw steak. “I have an ulterior motive for asking you here tonight.”
“Oh,” you mumbled around the shrimp you had just tossed in your mouth. “So…this isn’t a date?”
“No, it is,” Jungkook clarified quickly around a dry chuckle. He seemed…nervous. It put you on edge immediately. “This is definitely a date. And, also, more.”
“More? What, is this a proposal too?” You were joking. A 100% joking. But Jungkook was staring at you so seriously it made you panic. “Jungkook, if you get down on one knee here I swear-”
“I’m not proposing,” he assured you. “This is something more than that.”
“More?” You parroted. Jungkook sighed.
“Do you know what a true mate is?”
Right there, in that quaint little bistro, on a date with quite possibly the most untouchable man you’d ever met, he explained how you were irrevocably his. His true mate, his soulmate.
Jungkook explained everything in great detail, which you appreciated, because honestly, you had no words. He explained how when he was born, the witch who cared for him told his father that his future glared brightly ahead of him, but only when he met his other half. True mates were rare. Mating was common, the wolves in his pack could have multiple mates or a lifelong one, but true mates were destiny. Someone or something out there had forged the two of you together. You were essentially each others other half. He was made for you and you were made for him.
“But…aren’t true mates only for wolves? I thought it’s impossible for a human to be a true mate,” you asked in a shaky voice once Jungkook took a breath.
“It was supposed to be impossible. Until, I met you.” Jungkook stared at you with a sort of reverence that made your entire body blush. “I have no idea how you are. I’ve spent hours researching. I’ve consulted with members of my pack and others. No one knows why.”
“Are you sure, though? I mean…what if you’re wrong?”
“I’m not.” Jungkook shook his head. “I visited the witch right after I met you. She took one look at me and told me that I had finally found my true mate. She said she’d never seen a future so bright before.”
You had no words for that. For the first time in your life, you were speechless. Jungkook seemed to understand. He let you sit in silence as he paid for the bill and walked you out to the car. The drive back to your parents house was the same. You couldn’t speak. The shock rendered you stupid.
By the time Jungkook pulled into the driveway you still hadn’t spoken a word to each other. You stepped out of the car before he could open the door for you. Walking up to the porch steps in a trance, you didn’t hear him follow you until he clasped your wrist in his hand. Turning to face him, you were surprised to see his brown eyes so big. They practically sparkled in the moonlight and he looked so soft and sweet you nearly melted into the wood beneath your feet.
“Please,” he whispered. “Can you…just - are you okay? You’ve been so quiet. I’m worried I’ve scared you off or something.”
With that voice, it was impossible to deny him. So, you said the first thing that popped in your head. “Do we have to make it Facebook official?”
Jungkook stared at you before bursting into laughter. “Really? That’s all you have to say?”
You blushed and glanced down. “I’m just worried, that’s all. I can’t remember my Facebook password so even if you wanted to change it I don’t think it’ll work.”
“So that’s why you never accepted my friend request,” Jungkook teased. Before you could squeak out a response, he wrapped his arms around your waist and tugged you forward. You kept your arms crossed across your chest but let yourself fall against him.
“Don’t make fun of me,” you whined as you buried your face into his shoulder. He smelled so good, a mixture of pine and spice. “My brain hasn’t worked since you told me I’m yours, so bear with me.”
Jungkook chuckled and gently swayed you from side to side. “Does that mean you’re okay with this? All of this?”
Sighing, you lifted your head up and stepped away from him. Jungkook was not impressed and pulled you back to him. Your heart swelled in your chest and you wrapped your arms around his neck in consolation. “Honestly? I haven’t really processed anything. You’ve had your whole life to come to terms with this. I just found out thirty minutes ago that I’m someone’s soulmate. It’s a lot to take in.”
Jungkook nodded as he tapped his fingers against your hips. “I know. It’s a lot…I’m a lot. I just want you to know that you don’t have to do this. You don’t have to be with me. I won’t-”
Now it was your turn to burst into laughter. You couldn’t believe those words had left his mouth. It was easily the most absurd thing you’d ever heard. “Jungkook, I want to make something very clear. I have no problem being your true mate. That’s not the issue here. Well, there really isn’t an issue. It’s just…hard to believe, I guess. I have to process that this is my new reality.”
“Really?” Jungkook perked up and looked so fucking cute you couldn’t help but cup his cheeks. His skin was so warm despite the cold autumn air that surrounded you both. “You want to do this? Be with me? Be mine?” All you could do was nod. You were so overwhelmed with emotions. The shock was evident, but a piece of you was so happy. You felt whole.
Jungkook’s face split into a wide smile that caused his nose to scrunch up. He wrapped his arms around your waist and spun you around. Squealing, you slung your legs around his hips and held on. Normally, you’d rather die than show this much affection to someone. But, this was Jungkook. Your soulmate.
“So…what do we do now?” You asked once Jungkook set you down. “Is there, like, a ceremony or something?”
“I have no idea,” he admitted as he stared down at you. He had a hand against your jaw and was rubbing your cheek tenderly. “I really didn’t think I’d get this far.”
You scoffed at his ridiculousness. While recognizing you were Jungkook’s true mate was going to take some time, believing that he thought you’d deny him was utter nonsense. “What if…what if we date, first?” You suggested timidly. “I know that sounds kind of weird considering we’re supposed to be the loves of each others lives. But, I don’t really know you all that well. And, I think this is going to take sometime for me to get used to. Maybe we should date, get to know each other, and just learn how to be with one another.”
“Whatever you want,” Jungkook agreed. “We can do whatever you want. Just as long as I have you, I’m happy.”
Two years passed.
Two blissful, wonderful years. Two years of dating, two years of loving, two years of being Jeon Jungkook’s. It was everything you could’ve asked for and more. You had never felt so loved and cherished in your entire life. He respected you, he took care of you, and most importantly, he was there for you in every sense. Since the moment you met him, you hadn’t been alone. He hadn’t let you. Jungkook knew you better than you knew yourself.
And, it was the same for him. You were there for him when he transitioned into the leader of his pack. You were there when he took over the CEO position from his father and encouraged and supported him every step of the way. You let yourself be loved and in return he let you love him. It was wonderful.
Except, for one tiny thing.
While the emotional aspect of your relationship flourished and bloomed into something beautiful, the physical side remained stagnant. Make out sessions and heavy petting were a norm in your relationship. At first, it didn’t bother you. In fact, you loved that Jungkook was taking things so slow and so seriously. But, eventually, your needs began to grow. You found yourself wanting him in more ways than one, wants that only he could satisfy. Jungkook refused. Every time.
It wasn’t like he refused your every need. No, Jungkook was extremely attentive. When it came to himself, that’s when things got dicy. He had no problem spending hours between your legs, worshipping you until you were crying from the overstimulation. Yet, he wouldn’t let you anywhere near him. Not without lack of trying on your part. The minute your hands went down to his waistband, he pushed you away. Every time you tried to dip your mouth to the obvious bulge in his pants, he lifted you up and kissed you breathless until you forgot your name. It wasn’t until after a year of dating that he finally let you grind on his clothed cock. Even then, he held off until you finished and then walked out with quite possibly the worst case of blue balls. You hated that he did this to himself. The worst part was, you couldn’t understand why.
The one time you had brought it up to him it had resulted in the worst fight the two of you had ever gotten into. It was the only argument that was never really resolved. After the yelling and the tears, all you got out of Jungkook was that mating with a wolf was not pretty. It was extremely dangerous and he refused to put you in that kind of danger. End of discussion. No matter how hard you tried to persuade him or broach the subject, he shut it down. Hard. Eventually, you gave up.
He even spent his ruts away from you. Every three months, he left you for a week. You knew he had a place somewhere up in the mountains and you assumed that’s where he went. You had no idea. There was no point even asking to come along. You loved your boyfriend and didn’t want to purposely give him a heart attack. You hated it when he left. As much as you tried to hide it and convince him that you were just fine, he wasn’t stupid. Being away from him was tough. A piece of you was missing whenever he was gone. And you were only whole again when he returned.
This past week had been one of those weeks. He had left on Sunday for the mountains. He was agitated and clingy, how he normally was pre-rut. Jungkook wouldn’t let you leave his side and you spent most of the weekend on his lap or wrapped in his arms. Not that you minded. When he left your parents house on Sunday night, you’d had to coax him out of the door. Promising him that you’d be okay and that you’d see him next week. It wasn’t until several kisses later did Jungkook finally leave.
While you’d been doing this for two years, it never got easier. More manageable? Sure. But definitely not easier. All you could do was go through the motions. You went to work at the local bakery, came home and helped your mom with dinner, watched TV with your dad before going to bed. Taehyung and Jimin would visit often, threatened by Jungkook to keep you company. While you assured them it wasn’t necessary, you secretly didn’t mind. They made you laugh and made you temporarily forget your boyfriend was miles away from you. Sometimes, if you were lucky, he’d call you to tell you goodnight. But those times were rare. Normally, you didn’t hear from him until Friday or Saturday when he was finally coming out of his rut and returning to the world.
By the time Sunday rolled around, you were a jittery ball of nerves. Not in a bad sense. You were just excited. The anticipation killed you and it took all of your willpower to sit and wait for his text to tell you to come over. Your parents always left you alone on these Sundays, unable to deal with your hyperactiveness and constant fidgeting.
This Sunday was no different. You puttered around your room for the better part of the day. You spent the other part in the kitchen, baking like your life depended on it. Jungkook loved your cookies and you always made sure to come over with at least three batches after his ruts. He always said that was his second favorite part about coming home, after seeing you, of course.
You had just finished packaging the final batch in a glass cookie jar when your phone dinged. You didn’t have to read the message, you knew exactly what it said. Pure joy rushed through your system as you threw on your coat and shouted a hasty goodbye to your parents. Juggling the cookies and car keys, you sprinted to your car. The drive to Jungkook’s was thankfully not long. About ten minutes, as long as you didn’t hit any traffic on the main road. Luck was on your side, though, and you showed up at Jungkook’s house in eight minutes.
Taehyung’s car was in the driveway when you pulled up, which wasn’t odd. Although Jungkook owned the house, the members of his pack were almost always around. While most preferred to travel in their wolf forms, you knew Taehyung and Namjoon preferred cars. Something about being able to listen to their own music without comments from the peanut gallery. You didn’t really understand and didn’t really need to. You had just chalked it up as one of their many quirks.
Carrying the trays of cookies in both hands, you shut your car door with your foot before speed-walking up the stone walkway to Jungkook’s home. The screen door was shut, but the wooden door was swung wide open. You had just reached for the metal handle when you heard it.
A deep, threatening growl ripped through the peaceful quiet and froze you in place. You knew it was Jungkook. While you had only heard it once, you’d never forgotten it. It was when the two of you had attended a party and an alpha from a neighboring pack had cornered you in the hallway. Jungkook had found you cowered against the wall as the other alpha had caged you in. The sound that had left his chest had given you equal parts comfort and fear. Comfort, because he was there and you knew you were safe. Fear, because you could see in the way he bared his teeth and how his muscles vibrated, he had been furious and bloodthirsty.
That’s what you felt now, fear.
Something was wrong. Something was very, very wrong.
From your vantage point in front of the screen door, you could see directly into the kitchen. Taehyung was leaning against the granite countertop and Jungkook was seated at the island. The tension was so thick you practically choked on it.
“Enough, Taehyung.”
“No,” Taehyung snapped, seeming just as angry as Jungkook. “I’m not dropping it. Not this time.”
“Yes, you will,” Jungkook snarled. “I’m not having this conversation with you.”
“Too fucking bad.” While Taehyung was also an alpha, he acted so much like a beta you never really noticed. Until now. “I’m not going to sit by and watch you do this to yourself anymore. Not spending your ruts correctly is only causing you more harm than good.”
“I’m doing things the way I want to, and it’s working-”
“The hell it is!” Jungkook growled at the interruption but Taehyung ignored him. “It’s not working, and you know it. Anyone with two fucking eyes knows it. It’s getting so bad that the pack is noticing, too. Even Namjoon has realized something is wrong, and he’s as oblivious as they come.”
“If they have a problem with me they can take it up with me.”
“No, they can’t. Because you won’t listen. Your head is so far up your ass you can’t even hear yourself anymore. What you’re doing right now is not working. Something needs to change.”
“Like what?” Jungkook spat.
“You know what,” Taehyung bit back. Jungkook was practically vibrating from rage. You knew you needed to go get someone, someone from the pack to calm the two of them down. Things were only escalating, but you couldn’t move. Your brain screamed at you to run but your legs were rooted in place. “That’s is what’s so frustrating, Jungkook. This, all of this, could be solved. She’s right there-”
“Don’t.” Jungkook stood up so fast the chair he sat on flew backwards and hit the wall with a resounding crack.
“Why?” Taehyung threw his arms up in the air. “Why not? I don’t get it-”
“Because I don’t want her!” Jungkook yelled, the force of it rang throughout the house. You had no idea who the she was that they were referring to. You assumed it was someone from the pack. It was well-known that wolves with human mates sometimes turned to other she-wolves to help with their ruts. You figured that’s what Jungkook did whenever he went away for a week. It had bothered you at first, but you knew he had his needs and that they were at a biological level. You refused to make him feel guilty or ashamed for taking care of himself.
“You don’t want her?” Taehyung was enraged. You could tell by the way he straightened his spine and unfurled himself to his full height. Jungkook bristled in response and the muscles in his back strained against the thin material of his shirt.
“No, I don’t!” Jungkook exploded. “What don’t you understand about that? I don’t want her around me. I don’t need her, I’m fine on my own. The thought of having her there when…God - it makes me physically ill.”
“She’s your girlfriend. Above all of that, your true mate. You’re seriously going to deny yourself of her, for what? Just because you don’t like having her around?”
Oh.
That’s when it hit you. They weren’t talking about some random she-wolf. They were talking about you. You were the one Jungkook didn’t want. You were the one Jungkook didn’t need. You were the one he didn’t like having around. As the weight of the words sunk into your mind, you felt your chest becoming tighter and tighter.
Then, you’re heart broke right in half. You dropped the container of cookies and didn’t flinch when it shattered against the wooden slats. The sound unstuck your feet from their position on the porch and your fight or flight system took over. Without a second thought, you turned on your heel and ran.
You didn’t know if anyone was behind you, you didn’t turn around to check. Hands fumbled for the car door as you threw yourself into the drivers side. Pain ricocheted throughout your chest cavity and you struggled to breathe. Your brain was blank, the only thing your mind did was move your body to get you somewhere safe. You had to leave and you had to leave now.
Miraculously, your fingers found your keys and inserted them into the ignition on the second try. A flutter of movement occurred to the left of you but your eyes didn’t let you look that way. Instead, they focused on the rearview mirror as you reversed out of the driveway. Your right hand found the gearshift and moved it to drive. Soon, you were tearing down the street as your ears refused to register the agonized howls that echoed behind as you kept staring forward. Adrenaline pumped through your system and your body shivered in response, the splash of hormones had created a blanket of fake calm over you. The emotions, the pain, the thoughts were swirling inside of you, ready to break free and drown you, but your brain wouldn’t allow it.
It wasn’t until you reached the end of your long driveway that you felt the original spike of adrenaline fade away. Your mother was in the front, tending to the flowers, and looked up when she saw your car fly into its usual spot. She stood up and her face twisted into a frown when you got out of your seat.
“Honey, your aura…it’s concerning.” The blanket was yanked away and the pain crashed over you.
You couldn’t say a word, all you could do was collapse in your mother's arms and cry, cry, cry.
It took you two days to calm down. The tears had stopped rolling and your shoulders no longer shook from trying to hold your sobs behind your teeth. Your mother hadn’t left your side, leaving your father to answer the door whenever someone knocked. The only person who did was Taehyung and Jimin. Jungkook never showed up.
Well, that was a lie.
Jungkook did show up every morning and night, without fail. But he never came to your doorstep. Instead, he was in the woods behind your house, patrolling, not daring to leave the protection of the forest. A part of you wondered if he was respecting your obvious need for space or if your mother had paid a witch to set up boundary lines that didn’t allow him to cross. Either way, you were grateful that you couldn’t see him. There was an incessant tugging in your heart to be near him but you staunchly ignored it, which would’ve been impossible if you saw his achingly beautiful face.
I don’t want her. I don’t need her. Having her there makes me physically ill. Those three sentences played in a constant loop in your head, like a horror movie you couldn’t escape from. You were the protagonist who couldn’t escape the maze, but the villain wasn’t kind enough to kill you off. No matter what you did, your brain wouldn’t stop repeating those three sentences. Your mother burned sage, she pressed crystals into your palms, she muttered ritual after ritual, but nothing worked.
You hated how affected you were. You had always told yourself that you would never be the girl who’d get so wrapped up in someone else they didn’t know who they were anymore. Independence was something you prided yourself on, but you seemed to be at a complete loss now. You couldn’t stop the waves of sadness and self-hatred at your depressed state. It was amazing how empty you felt yet so full of pain at the same time. Your mind and heart couldn’t seem to decide which hurt worse; your heart for having your soulmate so obviously reject you, or your brain for trying to make sense of the situation. When did this happen? How did this happen? How had you been so blind as to not see it?
“I don’t think we’re soulmates,” you rasped to your mom on the third morning. It had been the first words you had spoken to her since you had fell into her arms. She looked up from the bundle of herbs she was smoking.
“Why do you say that?”
You stared at your hands that had curled in on themselves. “I don’t make him happy. I-I never realized how uncomfortable I made him. I wish I had known. How did I miss it?”
Your mother tutted gently and gathered you in her arms. She smelled of lavender and wax. “This is good. I’m glad you’re letting yourself have this moment. Let’s sit in this and allow yourself to be embedded here.” But you didn’t want to have this moment. You didn’t want to have any moment and you’ve felt enough to last a lifetime. Instead, you rolled over, let sleep overtake you and tried to ignore the distant howling that rattled your window pane.
By nightfall of the fourth day, you were forced out of bed. Partly by choice, partly by force. Your parents had dipped out to run to the grocery store, despite your mother’s insistence that she could stay. You and your father managed to convince her to leave and you had gotten up to wave them goodbye. Sure, your heart was broken, but the least you could do was kiss them on the cheek before they left. You had turned around to shuffle into the kitchen to try and shovel something down your dry throat when a loud knock sounded at the front door. Hesitating, you carefully peeked through the kitchen window and saw Jimin on your front doorstep, dressed in all black.
Sighing, you stumbled over and pulled the door open. You figured you couldn’t avoid them for much longer. “Hey, Jimin.”
“Christ, you look like shit.”
You huffed out a laugh as Jimin stared at you in horror, not having the energy to be offended. You also knew, in a weird way, that this was Jimin’s way of caring for you. “Yeah. My mother’s covered all the mirrors in the house.”
Jimin nodded as he glanced at you from head to toe. “I want to ask if you’re okay but…” He gestured to your gaunt frame swaddled in a heavy sweatshirt and sweatpants. For the first time in two years, they were your own clothes, not Jungkook’s.
“I’m fine, Jimin,” you heaved a heavy sigh and leaned against the doorframe. “Do you want to come in? I think my mom boiled some tea not too long ago.”
Jimin shook his head. “Can’t. Jungkook would have a fit if I got that close to you right now. I’m already pushing my luck just by showing up.” He doesn’t care, you thought bitterly, and almost said it out loud but you caught yourself at the last second. Jimin wasn’t stupid, though. He knew what you were thinking. “Hey,” he murmured, eyes going soft, “are you ready to talk about it?”
“No.” You shook your head. A wave of sadness washed over you but the telltale prick of tears didn’t come.
Jimin understood. He tucked his hands into his pockets as he rocked back onto his heels. “Are you going to talk to him?”
Letting out a heavy breath, you crossed your arms over your chest. “I know I have to. I just…I just need time.”
“Take however long you need.”
It was another 48-hours before you finally snapped. While you had spent the majority of the two days that had passed to make yourself resemble a human being, you couldn’t focus. You couldn’t move on. Why?
Because Jungkook wouldn’t leave you alone.
His presence was constant. He circled your house every hour of ever day, the large shadow of him in wolf form darkened the trees behind your house. The howling had stopped but the pacing hadn’t. You hoped he was at least sleeping, but then you got annoyed at yourself for caring. You didn’t know why he was out there, it made no sense. Jungkook’s words were so different from his actions it made your head spin.
But, you needed to move on with your life. You had to. The only way it was going to happen was if Jungkook did too. It hurt. God, did it hurt. Yet, as sad and utterly pathetic as it sounded, you were used to the pain at this point, had resigned yourself to it. A part of you worried you wouldn’t know what to do without it.
Shaking off that depressing thought, you tugged on your rain boots and stepped outside for the first time in a week. The air was heavy with the promise of rain, the clouds low and gray. You tugged the hood up on your sweater to prevent your hair from completely frizzing out before you walked to down the back deck steps.
The backyard of your parents house was expansive. The home you had grown up in sat on top of a sloping hill that your mother had turned into her personal greenhouse. You stepped past rows of raised garden beds and pruned plants until you reached the line where the neatly mowed grass met the twisted ferns of the forest floor. As you had suspected, the ground was scorched with the evidence of past rituals. While your mother hadn’t out right admitted, you had figured someone had come and created a boundary line. It was obviously specific to Jungkook since Jimin and Taehyung were still able to visit. While your mother’s methods were extreme, you understood. As difficult as it was to move on with your life with Jungkook sequestered to the forest, you couldn’t imagine what it would’ve been like if he was within a few feet of you.
With a deep inhale, you sat down on the damp grass and waited. After a few minutes, you could hear the faint sounds of paws hitting the wet earth. The galloping got louder and louder until there was a momentary stretch of silence before it changed to footsteps.
When Jungkook emerged from the trees, you weren’t prepared. Although you knew you wouldn’t be, you still weren’t expecting it to hurt this bad. Your chest squeezed painfully at the first look of his broad form. Technically, it had been two weeks since you two had truly seen each other, the longest you’d ever gone. What hurt the most was how badly you longed for him. You wanted nothing more than to run straight into his arms, bury your face into his chest, and forget everything. Just forgive and give your heart what it wanted. But you remained firmly in place.
Jungkook looked as if he had seen a ghost. Which, to be fair, was probably true since you hadn’t seen the sun in seven days. His normally golden skin was pale and even from where you sat you could see the dark circles bruising under his eyes. Clearly, he hadn’t been sleeping. You hated that you noticed. You hated that you cared. He was dressed in all black and his chest strained against the material of his sweater. His hands were balled into tight fists at his side and the sight reminded you of why you were here.
“Hi.” Probably wasn’t the best start but it was the best you could do. Jungkook didn’t respond so you soldiered on. “I-I know you don’t want to be here, so I’ll make this quick. I just…wanted to apologize. I had no idea I made you so uncomfortable. I’m not sure how long you’ve felt this way about me, not that it really matters, but I wish you had told me sooner. Maybe things would’ve been easier for you, who knows.” You released a heavy sigh and tried to shove down the stone in your throat as you forced the next words out of your mouth. “But, all of that doesn’t matter anymore. I think I understand what you need, now. I know you loved me at one point, but I’m obviously not what you need anymore. And…t-that’s okay - I swear it is. All I want is for you to be happy, Jungkook. And I think, in order for that to happen, I need to move on. We both need to move on-”
“Stop it,” Jungkook broke in with a harsh voice that cut your sentence in half. “Stop talking.”
It felt like he had slapped you in the face. A wave of humiliation washed over you and you visibly flinched. Staggering to your feet, you locked your gaze onto your boots in an attempt to hide the tears that dripped down your nose. “I’m sorry,” you whispered, not expecting it to change anything. You began to turn away but Jungkook stopped you in your tracks, again.
“Wait, no - stop. Stop. Please…don’t go,” he pleaded. When you turned around, his eyes were frantic. Jungkook’s hand was raised from his side as if he thought about reaching out to you but something stopped him. His words were at war with one another and you were caught in the middle, at a loss for what he was trying so desperately to convey to you.
“Jungkook, I’m so confused.”
“I know. I’m sorry. God, I’m sorry.” Jungkook tucked his head into his hands before dropping down into a squat. “This is all wrong. This is all so wrong.”
You knew you should walk away. You had said your piece, it was time to move on, just as you had said. Yet, you couldn’t. It was as if your heart was tethered to him and your body couldn’t handle the pain of walking away. “Listen-”
“I don’t know what to do.” He cut you off but the bubbles of anger that had risen from being interrupted popped once you saw how lost he looked. His tattooed fingers threaded through his hair, allowing you to see the pure anguish that twisted his features. “Whenever I feel like this, I come to you. Because you always know what to do. Any situation, no matter what, you can handle it. It’s something I’ve always admired about you.”
The way he spoke to you now, so reverently and so full of awe, made your head spin. Nothing made sense. It was such a blatant contrast to the brutality that he had spat out a week ago. As much as you wanted to believe what he said now, those stupid words could not get out of your head. It was a constant reminder that never shut up.
“I don’t know what to do either,” you admitted in a quiet voice.
“Tell me,” Jungkook begged, as if he couldn’t and refused to comprehend what you had just told him. “Tell me what to do, and I’ll do it. Whatever you want from me, I’ll give you.”
You were shaking your head before he could finish. “There’s nothing you can do, Jungkook. Nothing.”
“Don’t say that.” He stared at you, horrified. “Don’t say that to me. Please, there has to be something.”
“What could there be?” You cried. Tears streamed down your cheeks now. “You said it yourself, being near me makes you sick. Why would I stay? Why would you want me to? I refuse to make you uncomfortable anymore - so that’s that.”
“It isn’t,” Jungkook argued back. “It can’t be. I-I can’t lose you, I can’t. I need to make this right, please just let me. Please.”
But, you were tired. You were so fucking tired. You were exhausted of the emotional rollercoaster that you were on that you just wanted to crawl away and hide. All the fight seeped out of you as your shoulders slumped forward. Jungkook saw this and the blood drained from his face. You were giving up, he could see it, and it scared the shit out of him.
“Jungkook, I need to go, okay? I-I can’t do this.”
“No!” Jungkook shouted and shot up to his feet. The pure panic that choked his voice brought on a fresh set of tears that you struggled to hold back. “Just let me explain, okay? I swear to God, after you hear what I have to say, if you still want me to, I’ll let you go. I won’t fight you on it. But, please let me tell you the truth. Give me a chance to make this right. You deserve that.”
You hesitated for a moment. Deep down, you knew you should let him talk. Not because you necessarily thought he deserved to, but because he was right. You did deserve the truth, no matter how much it broke your heart. With a heavy sigh and a quick swipe of your cheeks, you nodded. Once Jungkook was sure you weren’t going to leave, he began pacing. Looking every bit like the wild animal you knew him to be but never got to see.
“Mating with a werewolf is…brutal. It’s intense, it’s painful and it isn’t pretty. It’s essentially a breeding session where I use you as a vessel to fulfill my innate biological needs. It’s not romantic, it’s not gentle. Even for she-wolves it can be too much. The thought of subjecting you to something like that - that type of pain…I couldn’t fathom it. I don’t think you understand just how precious you are to me. The image of you being battered and bruised because of me, something I did…it tormented me, day and night.” He paused for a moment, the pained look in his eyes made you shiver. You hated that he had gone through all of this turmoil on his own, and you especially hated how you never made more of an effort to try and relieve him of it.
“I couldn’t do it. That’s partially the reason I waited so long to tell you that you were my true mate. I knew ruts were something I would never expose you to even though it’s such a huge part of my life, a wolf’s life.” Jungkook looked you straight in the eye, the intensity of his dark gaze took your breath away. “I know the practices other wolves partake in when their own heats or ruts arrive. I know you know them too. But, I need you to understand something. The moment you allowed me to be yours and vice versa, I haven’t had anyone else since. I swear on my life, I’ve spent every single one of my ruts alone. I wouldn’t and I won’t do that to you.”
“Isn’t that painful, though?” Your voice cracked but neither one of you acknowledged it. While your knowledge on ruts were expansive, having done plenty of research since being with Jungkook, you had obviously never experienced one.
“It’s manageable. It’s way more painful for a she-wolf to go through her heat alone than it is for a male.” Jungkook clenched and unclenched his fists as he resumed his pacing. “The worst part is being away from you. I’ve been going through ruts since puberty, I can handle them. But not being able to be with you for a whole week…I hated it. Still do. I dread that three month mark. And as time went on, I became more and more miserable. Being apart from you was almost unbearable but the other option…I never even allowed myself to consider it.
“It came to the point where the pack was noticing. I wasn’t getting the proper pheromonal release from my ruts and it was beginning to affect those around me. Taehyung has been on my ass for months now to get over myself and take you with me during my next rut. Each time I’d give him some excuse, but it was getting harder and harder to justify what I was doing. At first, I was convinced it was because I was protecting you. But you’ve been so understanding and so patient with me and my life, those excuses were becoming useless. Eventually, I think it was because I was protecting myself. I was - am - so scared. I’m terrified that I could hurt you when I’m like that. That I wouldn’t be able to notice or worse, ignored, if something happened to you. Living with that type of fear became debilitating. So, I just kept my mouth shut and kept you away from that part of me.”
Jungkook shook his head and chuckled humorlessly. “Now I know that was the worst possible thing I could do. That I was just hurting you more. What you walked into last Sunday was a culmination of my frustrations that I was refusing to deal with. While it’s not a valid reason, I’m well aware of that, I need you to know that what you heard was not the truth. It couldn’t be further from it. Because the truth is that I’m hopelessly in love with you and the thought of being without you hurts worse than I ever thought was possible.”
It wasn’t the first nor would it be the last time that Jungkook left you speechless. It took you a full minute to process what he had said. Jungkook granted you the silence although he became increasingly more agitated as time passed. His boots scuffed the dead leaves that littered the ground and his pacing led him closer to the ashes that lay before your feet. Then, he’d suddenly stalk off with a growl as he was forced to keep away.
“I-” you cleared your throat around the lump that had found a home there. “I had no idea. This whole time…I thought it was because you didn’t want me.”
“God, no.” Jungkook swore heavily as his muscles bunched and coiled beneath his clothes. “The - the fact that…you - fuck. I’m so sorry. I’m so fucking sorry. That’s not it, that’s not it at all. You’re my dream girl, you’re the love of my life, and I want you every second of every day.”
Maybe it’s because you were emotionally drained and had no mental strength left. Maybe, you needed to hear those words from Jungkook more than you realized. Whatever the reason was, it wasn’t worth trying to figure out an explanation as you sunk to the ground and burst into tears.
Jungkook lost it across from you. Broken whines stained the air as he carded through his hair anxiously. He kept trying to get to you, to try to soothe you. But the boundary was unfortunately doing its job and each attempt was met with failure. Curses were spat out until eventually, he got as close as the boundary would let him and fell to his knees. He began spewing whatever came to mind first, unsure of what to do. All he knew was that you were crying because of him and there was absolutely nothing he could do about it. He thought hearing you cry from your bedroom window was torture, but nothing could compare to hearing you break down in front of him. Nothing. “Fuck, fuck, fuck. I’m sorry…please, I’m so sorry. I - don’t cry, darling. Please don’t. I’m so sorry I hurt you, I didn’t mean to, I swear.”
It wasn’t tears of heartbreak that leaked from your eyes. Instead, it was tears of relief. While your heart had wholly accepted his words as the truth, the logical part of you reminded yourself that the two of you had way more talking to do. This was far from over, but the relief of knowing that he loved you and he was yours…it was indescribable.
You finally lifted your head up and were shocked to find Jungkook’s cheeks glistening with moisture. Your only thought was to comfort him as you scrambled forward to do just that. Instead of feeling his smooth skin against the palm of your hand, you were blocked by what felt like a wall although nothing stood in your way. Frowning, you realized with a start that the boundary worked both ways. Jungkook let out a frustrated growl as he glared at the ashes that was stopping both of you from getting what you wanted. It was silent for a few moments until an idea popped into your head.
“Wait here,” you announced before jumping up and taking off for the house. Ignoring Jungkook’s distressed cry, you ran inside. You yanked your car keys off from their designated hook and quickly typed out a text to your parents to let them know where you were going before spinning around and sprinting back outside. Jungkook was where you left him, although he stumbled to his feet when he saw you reappear.
“I’m going to your house,” you announced, breathless. “No witch is stupid enough to go that far into werewolf territory. If you want to talk to me there, then follow me.”
Jungkook stared at you for a heartbeat until the words you spoke clicked. “Y-yeah. Yes. Okay. I’ll be there.”
With a curt nod, you ran to your car. For the first time in a week, a faint sprout of hope bloomed in your chest.
It was the longest and shortest ten minutes of your life. The drive to Jungkook’s seemed to last a lifetime but also was over within a blink of an eye. The tears had stopped flowing by the time you pulled your car into his driveway, but you felt the telltale prick in your eyes when you saw him burst from the trees. Your heart ached as his long legs ate up the distance between you two as you wrestled with your seatbelt and threw the car into park. By the time you freed yourself, he was at the hood of your car.
The two of you stared at each other for a few breathless moments. You weren’t sure who moved first, but it didn’t matter as you crashed into each other’s arms. The moment his searing warmth enveloped you, you dissolved into another puddle of sobs. The feeling of his thick arms banded across your back, his torso molded to yours, and his hair tickling your ear, felt so right. Another wave of crippling relief washed over you and you practically melted against Jungkook. But he held you up, just like he always had.
He leaned against the front bumper while his hands were everywhere. Cradling your head into his neck, smoothing over your hips, or running circles over your shoulders. He was crying, you could feel the tears dampening your hair. But you were soaking his shirt so no one was in any position to complain.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered.
“Don’t,” Jungkook hissed fiercely as he squeezed you tighter. “Don’t apologize. This isn’t your fault, not in the slightest.”
“Kook,” you sighed and pulled your head back to get a good look at him. “It takes two to tango.”
“Not this time,” he argued. “You’ve put up with so much. You’re everything I could’ve asked for and more. It was my own fears that got in the way and created this mess. And I’m so sorry for that, darling. I’m so fucking sorry.”
You shushed him gently, running your thumbs over his cheeks to swipe at the dried tears. “I know you’re sorry. I believe you.”
Jungkook dipped his head further into your touch with a pleased rumble vibrating through his chest. He kissed your palm gently, sniffing at your wrist. It made you giggle. “Missed that,” Jungkook mumbled as he stared at you with stars in his eyes. “Missed you. Missed you so much.”
A fresh wave of tears cascaded down your cheeks. You were positive that you looked like a mess, hair in a knotted bun, face red and puffy and you kept sniffling every two seconds. But Jungkook looked at you as if you held the world in your hands. “Missed you too,” you murmured in return. “Please, next time, just talk to me. I may not have the answers you’re looking for all the time, but I’ll always be here to listen.”
“I know,” Jungkook whispered. “There won’t be a next time, promise. If I happen to be stupid enough to put us in this position again, I give you full permission to punch me in the face.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.” You lifted yourself onto your toes to brush your lips against his, dropping back down to your feet when his head chased after yours. “Or maybe I just won’t kiss you for a week.”
Jungkook’s eyes widened comically and he actually looked terrified. “I’d rather you just punched me in the face.” You tilted your head back and laughed. Jungkook tugged you closer and nosed your throat before peppering gentle kisses along the exposed skin. Sighing happily, you tilted your head to allow him better access and rested your cheek on his shoulder.
“I love you,” you said quietly. Jungkook froze for a split second before he sank against you. Squeaking in shock, you scrambled to brace yourself against the sudden weight pressing you towards the house.
“Say it again,” Jungkook pleaded. You couldn’t deny him. Dusting feather light kisses to the shell of his ear, you repeated those three words again, and again, and again. Each time you did, Jungkook held you a little tighter and cried a little harder.
Eventually, you’re murmured promises became softer and softer until the two of you just enjoyed each others presence. “C’mon,” you finally whispered as you started to lift yourself off of him. Jungkook growled and refused to let you move an inch farther. “Kook, come on. Let’s go inside. Your ass must be numb by now.”
“Don’t care,” he grumbled but he at least shuffled forward a bit more so that your combined weight wasn’t squashing his ass against your car.
“You might say that now, but you won’t be saying that later.”
Jungkook grunted at your logic but he at least raised his head and looked at you with the sweetest eyes. “Please tell me you’re staying.”
Giggling, you asked, “do you want me to?”
“Obviously,” he scoffed. “I want you here forever.” Jungkook tilted his head thoughtfully. “Actually, you should just move in with me.”
Christ, this boy was going to give you whiplash. You couldn’t help but laugh. “Jungkook, we just made up. The whole reason we were in this mess is because of poor communication. Don’t you think we should work on that first before anything else?”
“But…we could work on communication all the time if we’re together 24/7.” Despite his pout, you knew he wasn’t totally serious. Although you were sure it was going to come up again.
“Alright, you maniac,” you said fondly. “Take me to bed.” Jungkook’s chest rumbled happily as he lifted you up and wrapped your legs around his trim waist.
It wasn’t a long walk to his bedroom, but the exhaustion of the past week caught up to you and the gentle rocking of his steps lulled you into a serene state. Not quite asleep, but not quite awake either. You were aware when Jungkook placed you on his bed, practically engulfed in his scent. The last thing you remember before falling asleep was the words Jungkook pressed into your hair has he slid in behind you.
“Love you forever, my darling girl.”

corpse, business man, and mother dearest?
i put it under a cut bc william is doing that blood tear thing again and i warn to read the tags because i dont just do those willy nilly and if i missed one please tell me so i can add it on!
Inspiration: I'm gonna be honest I have no idea
Micheal was a product of a drunken night between Jennifer and William and the direct cause to their marriage. Takes more after his mother in attitude and most of his looks.
While he had a somewhat better relationship with his father than William did with his own, he didn't have a healthy one. He craved any sort of attention or praise from his dad and soon resorted to bullying his siblings to get some form of attention. He never got any regardless and was told to 'try harder' and he'll be rewarded.
This bullying stopped after he shoved his brother into Fredbear's mouth and got suspended from school due to a nasty fight. This was partially due to being traumatized and also William allowing him to help out with his projects (aka Jen told him to and the couch wasn't comfortable)
He gained a talent for robotics and was even the one who made BonBon for Funtime Freddy
He had no idea until the events of Sister Location that the robots were made to kill, or that his sister was killed by Circus Baby. He genuinely thought that Elizabeth just ran away again.
Moved away from the house after his mom said William wasn't coming home again. Part of him was relieved.
Went to therapy and finally realized that his dad sucked and he can break this toxicity that seems to curse the guys in his family (well, most of them)
Got healthy male role models in the form of Henry and his Uncle and made some friends in the neighborhood
Curiousity kills the cat when he gets a message from an unknown number recommending a job at Circus Baby's Pizza World that featured some familiar faces (he was overjoyed at seeing bonbon again but not when funtime freddy was also involved)
When he took over the role of Mike Schmidt, it was less a new name and more of the actual Mike Schmidt needed to leave town for safety reasons and Micheal offered to just take his place at the pizzeria so he could focus on skedaddling (win-win)
Was unaware of Springtrap/Scraptrap being his dad until he spoke, and then Henry let Micheal have an extra taser because he refused to do his work without it handy (eventually it was agreed that Micheal would be allowed to have metal bat because he kept breaking his computer with the taser)
Grew close to Henry after the move and working with him made them closer, Micheal got a father figure and Henry got to care for someone again (to the point where they sat next to each other in the final moments)
Returned from the dead to assist other spirits with animatronic ties with the task of moving on, regardless of whether it was because of his father or not. Is assisted by his brother who took the form of Fredbear in what he finds to be the darkest joke Louis has ever made
Inspiration: I always think of the Clown from dbd but that's very loosely related but its a lot of the dbd killers tbh
Was always that kid who had animal skulls in his room, or knew just a little too much about medieval torture methods
Had a horrendous relationship with his father that was physically and mentally abusive
Was more or less raised by his older brother (who isn't that much older mind you) and his doormat of a mother, who he cared for dearly
Has only used a firearm once, and it was to finally rid the house of the monster that hurt everyone inside, he hasn't touched one since
Was forced to move to America by his mother after his brother convinced her that he killed her husband
Was favored by his mother over the elder sibling and was effectively free from punishment
Met Jennifer after she threw her stuffed rabbit his face with enough force that she made his nose bleed, she apologized but wasn't sincere ("He looked at me funny Ma!")
Was a little bit unnerving to be around but still managed to make a few friends when he was younger in the form of Henry, Jennifer, and a kid named Casey who went missing (and before anyone asks no he had no hand in this)
Was obsessed with robotics and made a promise with Henry to make robots when they got older
Learned how to play guitar so he could impress Jen, ended up embarrassing himself and also fell out of a tree. Surprisingly, she found this charming and asked him out (while also laughing)
Got wasted on his 21st birthday and take a wild guess what happened that night
Came up with the concept for Spring Bonnie thanks to Jen's stuffed rabbit and even helped make the springlock suit itself
When asked by Henry why he did what he did (aka murder) he just laughed in his face and started talking about freeing them from the monsters while also referring to himself as one. No one had any idea what he was talking about but managed to escape getting the police called on him. He had no reason other than he knew he could get away with it, figured he might as well play tragic villain to amp up the guilt
Probably should've gotten therapy after the move but never did
Genuinely cared for his children but had an obvious favorite in the form of Elizabeth (who wasn't even his)
Figured ignoring Micheal would keep him from patricide but just made things worse
Figured out quickly after a head count during that party with Circus Baby what happened to his daughter and made off with the animatronic as soon as possible, lying to his family that she ran away again but would turn up eventually
Has never laid a hand on his children but was unaware what total ignorance towards them would lead to
After the Fredbear incident he at least paid more attention to Micheal, if only to prevent the boy from shoving his daughter into another bear mouth
Is an excellent cook and good at drink mixing
Never really got along with his own brother but at least respected him for what he did (including the biggest cover he was ever given)
After Micheal made his intent to bash his dad's animatronic face in clear, he decided that Micheal was no longer a child and free to attack (he did get tased and also bashed with a bat a few times before being dragged to hell)
"I may kill children but at least I respect my son's pronouns"
Inspiration: an older friend of mine
Jennifer was always a rebellious child, and an oddity in her mother's eyes
On that note, the two never saw eye to eye on anything, and clashed daily
Resolved to never become like her mother and succeeded
Had a stuffed rabbit named monster truck that she liked to throw at people (namely the new british kid in the neighborhood who looked at her funny)
Was best friends with a kid named Casey Fitzgerald before they went missing
Chopped her hair off at the age of 15 and basically told her mother to suck on a lemon (but with more swearing)
Generally a delightful little child /j
Raised Micheal in a tiny apartment with her then boyfriend before they got the house they raised Louis and Elizabeth in
Saw the situation Elizabeth was in and pretty much just adopted her on the spot (there was some extra hurdles but they got their daughter in the end)
Was the one who actually raised the Afton children due to William being both busy and inattentive for various reasons
Wasn't perfect in raising her kids but was certainly better than her husband
Took dance lessons when she was younger and encouraged her children's creative behaviors
After Elizabeth "ran away" she found out about William's previous... activities and devised a plan to make sure he wouldn't hurt anyone ever again
She told him what she found but mentioned that she was just disappointed in how careless his plan was in terms of the four main animatronics having his face saved in their systems, meaning it wouldn't be long until the police were at their door
When he returned home from destroying Freddy, she insisted it was better to do it all in one night to prevent suspicion, however this almost gave her plan away when he mentioned it was stupidly lethal. She succeeded when he still went back stating that he was smarter than most people
When he never returned home she told Micheal to pack his things and anything else he wanted to take with him, they were moving to another state so they could have a fresh start. She waited til he was a bit older to explain why William never returned home
Encouraged Micheal to get therapy and tried her best to give him a balanced home life. This became easier when Will's brother decided to step in and help and the duo became good friends (what also helped was that he was a teacher at Micheal's new school)
Warned Micheal to be wary about the new job at the pizza world and when Micheal finally rid himself of Ennard she gave him a place to stay while he figured out what to do about his situation
Helped Henry and Micheal set up the fake pizzeria and even wrote up fake lawsuits and ads
Is still alive after all these years out of pure determination to outlive any form of her ex husband

Glowing Eyes and Shimmering Scales
Introducing: Layla, Sam, Lonna, Jay, and a fuck ton of other side characters, places, and organizations that i didnt really explain, but im to lazy to write something that will explain everything, which will become relevant in the future! Maybe! If I summon the will to write!
also, sorry that I don't post consistently at all, but I hope you enjoy the writing, under the cut.
This is probably going to be a part one for a certain chain of events, and then ill disapear for months agian, so sorry ahead of time, lol.
Tw: abusive parents, torture, emotional breakdowns
Layla's wings flapped as she landed on the training area platform, and saw the instructor stride up to her, looking concerned.
“Layla, you have to leave. Your father is coming, and what he's bringing is not suitable for you to see.”
“Come on Lonna, can’t I stay? I'm going to be of age soon, I need to know what Kron is dealing with.”
“May i remind you that you are not of age yet, and the king still has control over you. Please go back to the cave, its safer there.” Lonna pleaded, fear lighting up her eyes.
“Ok, fine.” Layla grumbled, and started to shift into a dragon in order to get across the castle quickly. But just as she started to flap her wings, a thud was heard behind her, followed by shouts and faint whimpers. Which sounded familiar. Layla turned around to look back at the platform, and saw Sam laying on the ground, shackled, bleeding and shaking violently as the guards sent shocks through his body with wires attached to his temples. Next to him, her father stood, glaring at the child on the ground.
“S-Sam?” Layla could barely breathe, stopped in her tracks as she saw what was happening to Sam only a few feet away. Lonna started to push Layla away, trying to get her to leave, but the king looked up anyway.
“Layla? What in the hell are you doing here?” Laylas fathers voice boomed as he advanced upon Lonna and Layla. “I told you to make sure she wasn't here? You will regret this.”
“O-ok your highness, I'm sorry, I should have-” Lonna stuttered, shaking in fear.
“Dad? What the hell is happening? What are you doing to Sam? Is this why you never tell me shit? Because you're torturing him? Is this-” Layla was cut off by the kings tail slapping her across her face. The tip of his tail scratched at the skin around her eye, leaving blood to trickle down her cheek. She could hear Lonna gasp as the sound of the slap echoed around the training platforms walls.
“Don't speak of things you'll never understand.” the king growled. Layla just stared at him in shock, holding her cheek. He turned to Lonna, who was trying to not glare at him “Why is she still here? I thought I told you to make sure she was long gone.”
“Oh! U-um, I'm- I'm sorry your highness. She came late, and I didn't have time to make sure she had left before you got here.” At the shaky words of Lonna, the king turned to his daughter. “And why were you late?”
“I-I,” Layla was shaking. She was still clutching her cheek and eye, her mind reeling. She knew that her dad had just hit her. She never thought he would go that far. She started thinking about the time that Jay had come back to the cave with a swollen cheek. Anger flared in her chest, her fists tightened, and her skin turned scaly. Her nails grew longer and sharper and cut into her palms. “Did you hit Jay too? How much do I not know about you? And what the HELL are you doing to Sam?” Layla was still shaking, but now she was angry.
“He is a prisoner, and he is treated accordingly. You have no business questioning my authority.” The King returned her glare, then snarled. “You need to leave. Lonna, Make sure she goes to the cave, and doesn't leave. We will talk about this later. Remember, you aren't queen yet Layla. Not for a long time. If I have to correct you all the time, there will be consequences.” Layla started shaking from fear at the word ‘consequences’. Lonna grabbed Layla's arm, and started to pull her away. Layla looked back at her dad as he turned around and advanced on Sam. Sam looked over at Layla in the midst of his pain, and they locked eyes. Layla tried to give Sam a look, hoping Sam would understand what she meant. Sam nodded everso slightly before being shocked back into the torture. Lonna made sure Layla was turned around before she could see Sam again, and they both jumped off the cliff, transforming into their dragon forms in midair.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When they reached the cave where Layla, and her little sister, Jay lived, Layla turned back to her human form right before she landed, and Lonna shook her head at the young girl. Usually Layla would have done a flip, or rolled her eyes at Lonnas disapproval, but her eyes were still red, tears ready to fall from her eyes. Once she noticed Lonna looking concerned at her, Layla wiped the tears and blood away, and shook her head, trying to return to normal.
“Oh honey,” Lonna said, and hugged Layla. “I'm so sorry you had to see that. You are ok, right? He didn't hurt you too bad?” Layla remembered her cheek and eye, and felt it throbbing again.
“Oh, I guess I forgot. I’m ok Lonna, I swear, stop worrying about everything, god.” Layla tried to cover up her choked voice with teenage annoyance. But Lonna saw right through it.
“Come on honey, let's get you inside, and take a look at your cheek.” The two of them walked into the cave, and Lonna had Layla sit down on the couch in her room. She started to take care of the swollen skin, grabbing a box of magical ointments from the kitchen. Lonna started to hum childrens songs about ghost stories and dragon legends and such and Layla started to close her eyes and drift off to sleep. But then she heard her sister land on the ledge, and run through the door.
“You won't believe what Mica got me!” Jay ran into Laylas room, a wide smile across her face, but it faded when she saw Layla. Layla sat up. “Oh no, are you ok?”
“Yeah, im ok Jay, dont worry about it, training just got a little too aggressive today, that's all.” Jay gave her a weird look.
“Ok, if you say so. Anyway, look at the necklace Mica got me!”
“OoooOh, so Micas giving you necklaces now. It's almost like your, um, DATING?” Layla fake gasped, and started laughing with Jay. Lonna smiled, but then got serious.
“Jay, you have to be careful, you know your dad doesn't want you dating a citizen, much less Mica.”
“I Know, he wont find out, it's all good. Please, just let me have this Lonna?” Lonna nodded, but still looked worried. Jay continued to talk about her day with Mica, and after a while, layla zoned out, and began making a list in her head of the things she would need, and her plan to get Sam out, and FAR away. Shed never really liked him, but she couldn’t let him suffer like that, not now that she knew.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Later that night, Layla was packing her bag, going through the list she had come up with earlier.
“Ok, i've got a change of clothes for me, and for Sam, warmer clothes for when it gets cold at night, the straps and blankets for my back that sam can stay on, blankets for when we sleep, enough food for 2 weeks, a water filter, some matches for Sam, and a map. I think that's everything-” Layla stopped when she heard Lonna in the doorway. She threw the bag under her bed quickly, then looked up to see that Lonna had been there the entire time.
“Don't worry, i won't tell your dad, or anyone else, i promise.” Lonna said before Layla could even open her mouth. “Take it from someone with a history of running away, don't expect that anything will go as planned, make sure you have something from the people you're leaving behind.” Lonna threw a necklace over to Layla, who caught it, then turned it over in her hand. “It's a scale from each person in your family. Jay, Me, Mica, Nao, your mom, and your dad. And one of your scales too. I thought you might want to have something to have from us when you're gone.”
“No, I can't take this, I'll be back right away, I just need to get Sam out, I'll be back before they even realize what happened, so you should keep it.” Layla held out the necklace for Lonna to take, but she just shook her head.
“Even so, keep it. I made it for you. regardless of whether you leave or not, I want you to have it.” Lonna smiled sadly at Layla. Layla looked down at the necklace as the six scales shimmered and clinked together.
“Ok, I guess I’ll keep it, but I'll be right back, seriously.”
“Ok honey, just be safe for me, ok? Promise me that you'll be safe. And give me a hug before you go.” Layla nodded, and hugged Lonna tight.
“I promise, I'll be safe. And thank you Lonna, thank you for everything.” Layla felt Lonna nod, and tighten her grip before finally releasing.
“Is there anything you want me to tell Jay? Just in case I mean?”
“Um, I actually wrote her a note already. Can you give it to her if i don't come back?”
“Of course honey, I'll give it to her.” Layla handed the folded up piece of paper to lonna, and then clasped the necklace around her neck.
“I'm going to go hang out with Jay now, bye, I love-” Layla stopped herself, but then noticed that Lonnas eyes were tearing up, and she was looking at her so tenderly. “Um, I love you Lonna. Thank you for basically being me and Jay's mom when Mom died. And sorry for all the times I messed up, I know I'm kinda a lot.”
“Oh baby, you're not a lot, it's an honor to be your step in mom for you and Jay. I love you too honey, come here.” Lonna hugged Layla again, and Layla hugged back. They stayed like that for a while, then Lonna let go, and wiped the tears off her face. “Ok, go say bye to your sister kiddo, and remember, i love you.” Lonna walked out of the room and went to the kitchen.
Layla took a deep breath before going into her sisters room. She listened to Jay talk about the karaoke date that she was planning for her and Mica for their anniversary, the big test she had coming up next week, and her concert.
“Hey, you'll be there, right? Dad obviously doesn't want to go, you know how he is with that stuff, it's next weekend, and you don't have training that day, so you'll be there?” Jay looked at Layla. Layla's breath caught, and her heart dropped down to her stomach.
“Oh,...um, yeah, i'll be there.” Layla tried to remind herself that she would be back before the concert, she would be right back. There was no reason to worry.
“Awesome! We sound really cool, we've been working on this set for a couple months now, it's not easy AT ALL.”Jay looked over to see her sister looking like she would throw up. “Hey, you sure you're ok? You've been acting weird ever since you got home, and so has Lonna.”
“Oh, it's ok Jay, I'm fine, just tired, long day, you know how it is.” Layla yawned, trying to act tired.
“...Ok, if you say so, but somethings up, I know it. You don't have to tell me, but somethings up.” Jay hugged Layla. “Hey, whatever is happening, please just be careful, you know how dad is.”
Layla chuckled. “Yeah, I know, don’t worry about it.” Layla hugged Jay back. “I love you, you know that right?”
“Yeah. I love you too.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eventually Jay had fallen asleep in Layla's arms, and Lonna came and stood in the doorway and whispered, “You should go now, I'll make sure she's safe.” Layla nodded, and gently moved her little sister off of her, and under the blankets. She kissed Jay's head, hugged Lonna again, and slung the straps with the bags and blankets attached across her body. Once she was outside she took a deep breath and then jumped silently off the ledge, wings sprouting from her back, scales raising across her skin, claws growing from her fingers, and her tail slicing through the air. She felt the straps slide into place as she turned. She began gliding silently toward the dungeons, hoping that Sam had used Sight to see the plan she had written down.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the dungeon Sam was shivering in the corner. He dug his fingernails into his palms hard, and his eyes began to glow white as a vision triggered.
The wind was roaring past his head, and he heard the flapping of wings. Panicked he looked around, expecting to see the king. Instead he saw the mountains in the distance, and bursts of light coming from Layla's mouth as she breathed fire for warmth. He noticed he was sitting on the dragons back, on top of blankets, and surrounded by a couple bags of supplies. He looked behind him, and saw the Gorge and castle falling away behind them as the distance grew. Sam started to turn back around, but his vision flared white, then black.
Sam returned to the dark, damp cell, his heart beating fast.
“It's ok, you're ok, you're getting out.” Sam whispered to himself trying to calm down after the vision. He would panic after even good visions because of how defenseless he was after them. “At least I was able to control it today. I didn't See until I wanted to, which is progress.”
“Yes, it is” Sam jumped when he heard someone else whisper next to him. A burst of orange fire sparked near his head, illuminating the cell with dim light for a second before it died out. Sam saw Layla's face before the light faded.
“Oh, Layla, you scared the shit outta me. Are we going now?”
“Yeah, come on, the guards are sleeping, but now for long, we have to go right now.”
“Ok, cool.” Once they had escaped the dungeons, Layla turned back into a dragon, and Sam climbed on her back and sat down on the blankets.
“I packed you some new clothes in the green bag, and some food and water that you can eat, cause I bet you're hungry.” Layla growled to the best of her ability in dragon form.
“Oh, you think?” Sam immediately started rifling through the bag, pulling out the clothes, and a container of food. “Thanks dude, I owe you one.” Layla just snorted, and took off, causing Sam to get jolted back, and nearly drop the clothes and food. “Hey! Warn a person, for the love of Sight Layla.” Sam changed into the new clothes, ate a sandwich, and drank some water. He saw his vision carry out in real life, and breathed a sigh of relief. Eventually he patted Layla's neck, then tied himself down so he wouldn't fall off, and went to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a long day of flying non stop, avoiding all towns and traces of dragons as to not be seen, Layla eventually reached the forest that bordered Kron and Verlorn. She landed in the forest, and let Sam get off her back before she transformed back to human form.
“Hey, Sam, we're going to rest here for a bit, then you can go off on your own to Verlorn and meet up with the travelers there, they should be able to help you. I'll see you to the border, then make my way back to the Gorge. It'll only be two days, so hopefully my dad will think that i just needed a break and went to the woods for a bit.” Layla started to take off the straps and bags, and started to set up a little lean-to for her to sleep under for a bit.
“Wait, hold up dude.” Sam was looking at Layla, concern etched across his face. ‘Your telling me that you think you can go back? He hit you! And he’ll do it again. You can't go back, it's so obvious that you got me out, if you go back, you'll be killed, 100 percent.” Layla looked at Sam, starting to panic. “Even Lonna told me to make sure you make it to the Resistance base in Verlorn, she said that you had to get out and stop your dad? You didn't know?”
“L-Lonna? But- But she wouldn't do that. She couldn't.” Layla was hyperventilating. She looked down at her necklace, and grabbed lonnas scale remembering what lonna had said to her before she left. “Is that why?”
“I'll take that as a no…”
“I-...I have to go back, i have to go back, right now. He- he wouldn’t hurt me again, he cares. Yeah, he gets angry sometimes, but that-” Layla's eyes filled with tears, and she felt like she was being punched in the gut.
“And I thought I had issues, my god. Dude, he doesn't care about you, he's kinda evil if you didn't notice? How do you not see that?” Layla didn't even look at him, but her breathing got more rapid.
”I have to go back, I want to go back. I can't leave him, I can't leave them.” Layla was full out sobbing now, hunched over as if her stomach hurt, and to be honest, it did. “Oh no, Jay, i cant- i cant- I have to go back, i can't leave her, i promised her, I PROMISED HER. I can't just leave. Oh my god, no, nononononono. I have to go back, i have to go back now.” Layla forced herself to stand up straight, and began to walk toward a clearing so she could fly back. Sam ran in front of her, and grabbed her arms.
“You can't go, he’ll kill you Layla. We have to find my brother, then we’ll be safe.” Layla started to push past him, still sobbing, but he wrapped his arms around her. Almost immediately Layla sunk to the ground, sobbing and screaming.
“I have to go back, i have to, i should have never left, it wasnt supposed to go like this, this wasnt the plan, THIS WASNT THE FUCKING PLAN.”
“I know, but you can't go back.” Sam looked around, unsure how to deal with the situation. “Layla, do you trust Lonna? She seemed to care about you alot, she wouldn't let you do something that she didn't think you needed to do.” Layla was still sobbing on the ground, whispering ‘i have to go back’ under her breath over and over again. Eventually she nodded a little, but then closed her eyes. Sam held her for a while, before getting her to move under the lean-to, and wrapped her in a blanket. Layla drifted off to sleep, exhausted, and Sam just stood watch, occasionally looking over at Layla, worried, and confused at her response.
"_____ get your ass in here" x3 I dont know
The Rabbit
A continuation of the mafia au. Sorry, this one got really, really long but oh things are getting good. X3
It was actually a quiet morning. Maggie and Ama sitting in the library reading together.
“This was one of my favorites as a kid,” Maggie commented, “though this is a way nicer copy than I ever had.”
The book in question, was called My Father’s Dragon and featured a little boy placing colorful bows in a lion’s hair on the cover.
“But does the dragon belong to his dad?” Ama questioned as she flipped through the pages.
Maggie shook her head, “it's more of the narrator is talking about an adventure his dad had as a kid. Here look,” Magie instructed as she pointed out some of the illustrations to Ama. “The little boy has to rescue a little dragon from all the mean animals that are holding it prisoner on the island. But he doesn’t fight them, he’s clever.” Maggie paused on a page featuring the boy scrubbing a rhino’s horn with a toothbrush. “In this scene a really angry rhino charges at him but the boy convinces the rhino he can help with his horn that's gotten all grimy and dirty which the rhino is embarrassed about. The boy packed all kinds of useful things in his backpack including a toothbrush and toothpaste. Once he helps, the rhino is so happy he lets the boy pass without a second thought.”
“Does he rescue the dragon?”
Maggie smirked as she flipped back to where they had left off reading. “Read it to me and find out.”
Outside the guards stood on alert yet were bored. Nothing passed on the street save for the occasional car. Nothing that is till something tiny came charging down the street. They almost didn’t see it till the thing had zipped between their legs and between the bars of the front gate.
William was summoned outside with all the commotion. The thing, now caught was wriggling and whining in the hands of the guard holding it. It took a moment for William to register having seen the creature before. Even less time to register there was dried blood matted into its fur.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Maggie ran down the hall, behind her Amaranthus trying her best to keep up with Mune the cat wrapped in her arms.
Maggie threw open the door to William’s office. He stood at his desk with a deep frown on his face. Next to him stood a maid with a small bundle that had just received a much needed bath. The bundle squirmed to escape the towel it was wrapped in at the sight of Maggie. The maid passed off what was revealed to be a small dachshund. A tag on it’s collar revealing the name Trouble.
The little dog whined as it wiggled around and licked Maggie’s face over and over, the poor creature shaking but clearly relieved to be with someone it recognized.
“It ran up the drive this morning,” William explained as Maggie set the little dog down. Mune hissing at him however Ama was delighted, reaching out with a giggle as Trouble licked her fingers.
Maggie looked down at the scene with a slight smile before looking back up at her boss. The worry clear in her eyes. “Why was he given a bath?”
“... he was filthy of course, I was not about to allow the dog into my home without a bath.”
Maggie’s eyes turned hard. The unsaid things she could pull apart in a second. It was part of her job after all. Whether her boss was not saying everything due to his precious Angel being in the room or to simply keep it from Maggie was uncertain but the unsaid things still stood clear:
“What caused the dog to become dirty?”
“Where was his owner?”
Maggie did not ask, but the wheels in her brain were already turning. And just as she caught the unsaid things from her boss William caught the plans forming in her own silence.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vespers paced the floor with worry. His aunt should have checked in by now. But it had been two days and no word from her. Vespers had sent out a few men to investigate the area his aunt had last reported as investigating. Word came back of finding a blood-stained alley with tiny bloody paw-prints leaving it.
But no body.
Vespers had sent word to William about the situation, having tried and failed to contact Maggie, but it was radio silence on that end as well. Something that didn’t sit right with Vespers at all.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Maggie’s phone had been destroyed.
It had been “an accident” of course. She had her phone in her hand as she was about to walk downstairs when Pierre bumped into her. He had caught Maggie’s arm before she could lose her footing but the phone had gone flying out her hand and tumbling down the stairs. Landing at the bottom floor in pieces.
“Oh Pierre you must be careful,” William scolded behind him, “just look what you’ve done to Miss Bryne’s phone.”
Pierre grunted an apology and Maggie was promised a replacement. That had been two days ago, just hours after Trouble had turned up. Now she and Ama were back in the library again, Mune curled up on the arm of Ama’s chair while trouble was asleep in Maggie’s lap. It would have been a cute scene if not for Pierre and another guard who were pretending to be reading nearby. It put Maggie on edge, something that was not missed.
“Are you worried about the dragon?” Ama asked, pointing at the illustration of a crying dragon with stripes.
Maggie shook her head. “I’m worried about Trouble’s owner…” Maggie paused, unsure what she was able to say especially with the guards nearby. “I don’t know where she is and I’m scared.”
Ama frowned, patting Maggie’s hand, “I hug Mune when i’m scared, or find daddy.”
Maggie smirked, “Mune doesn’t like me and I don’t think I want to ever admit to your dad when I’m scared.”
“Why?”
A servant interrupted them, delivering tea and cookies as a snack.
There was a tiny piece of paper folded under Maggie’s teacup.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vespers and Juno spoke in silence, they were at a meeting in the godfather’s home. It was clear their aunt was considered dead to the family but nonetheless their father supported his children continuing a small investigation. If anything but for closure.
A servant walked by offering drinks, there was a tiny slip of paper the servant also slipped into the palm of Vespers’ hand.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
William sighed, for two days Maggie had not put up a fuss though it was obvious her temper was biling just under the surface. But she had behaved which was all he could really ask of her. That being said it was time they had a chat.
He reached out to knock on her bedroom door, surprised when Maggie opened the door and nearly ran into him. She was dressed in her old uniform instead of the comfortable dresses of late. Her hair back in a tight bun and a gun being tucked into a holster under her coat. They looked at each other in surprise.
William frowned, hands on his hips. “Where do you think you’re going?”
Maggie frowned in turn, “out.”
“Out?”
Maggie held her ground, “I’m going out to look for Magpie. I was hoping you would respect that as the only family I really have you would understand I have to go.”
William sighed, shifting so that he was blocking the doorway. “I was coming to tell you that I have been investigating myself. She isn’t to be found anywhere.”
Maggie looked down, seeming to process what he had said, “with all due respect I’m the one that should be sent out for information. It’s my job for goodness sake, let me do it.”
“You are too valuable an asset and it would be exactly what the enemy wants-”
“To hell with being an asset!” Maggie shouted. “How can I possibly be of any value if I’m here? How can I do my job here? I’m worthless right now.”
“Not true,” William insisted, “Amaranthus seems to have taken quite a shine with you and you do well in watching her.”
“You can hire anyone to babysit William.”
“It’s sir to you.”
“Fine, you can get anyone to babysit sir.”
William bristled at the ice in her voice. “Maggie dear you must have patience because believe me when I say you are trying mine. You will leave me to carry on an investigation and you will not leave am I clear?”
Maggie blinked, an unreadable look in her eye as she took a few steps back before running at the door.
Willam braced himself for impact only to be dumbfounded as the redhead leaped right over him with ease, bolting down the halway.
She nearly made it to the stairs when someone grabbed her shoulder. The reaction was quick, Maggie placing a well-aimed kick to the guards’ head as she hopped over the railing and fell onto a couch below. Springing over the head of a servant and nearly making it to the door before someone tackled her to the ground.
Maggie shrieked and twisted around, two more people running up to hold her down. William approached noting the scene reminding him of a program he once watched where several people were trying to capture a crocodile. Maggie looked up at him, her hair free of it’s bun and a wild mess around her face. Eye’s wild and teeth bared. So this is why people called her crazy.
William knelt down in front of her with a smirk though his eyes read anger. “I would be rather impressed except for the fact you’re causing quite a scene.”
“You’re a scene!” Maggie snapped, her words the only thing she had left. “You’re the one that has me pinned down like a fucking animal!”
“None of that language now,” William scolded, “this wouldn’t be necessary if you didn’t act like an animal.”
“You’re an animal! You- umph!”
Pierre had slapped a hand over Maggie’s mouth, “sir if your daughter sees?”
At this William’s demeanor shifted, Maggie seemed to lose her will as well. Not fighting when she was lifted up off the ground but still held so that her feet could not touch the floor.
William reached into her jacket and pocketed her gun, “lock her in her room and don’t anyone dare let her out.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was quite late at night now, and Maggie had to congratulate William in being so thoughtful on making sure her room didn’t have a window.
She also had to congratulate his men on clearly not haiving read her file.
Air vents were not her favorite place to be but shimmying up the one in her bedroom ceiling felt like she was stepping back into a beloved old pair of shoes. A tight space no doubt but a familiar one. She had long mapped out the ventilation shafts, as well as every nook and cranny that she was able to get into of the manor. Once even nearly fell through the air vent grate that was over William’s room and frequently using the one above Amaranthus’ to drop a few coins and glitter when it was time for the tooth fairy to visit.
Granted, William had already snuck a trade of tooth for money while the little angel slept. But the look of confusion on his face when Ama came racing downstairs with the additional glitter coated coins was priceless.
Maggie popped through an opening in the hallway, sneaking her way to the servant’s stairwell with a swish of her boa and down to the cellar where she had also noted the windows were not covered by the alarm system for some reason.
Really should mention that to the boss at some point.
Oh well.
She dashed across the garden, hiding in shrubs when she feared a guard nearby. Eventually making it to a tree whose branch was just close enough to the wall she could use it shimmy across to freedom. She paused to look back, there was a ground floor window open. In her mental eye of the manor’s map that would be a parlor, why was it open?
There was a rustling sound, another guard coming? Maggie leaped from her perch on the tree branch and over the wall, landing on her feet on the other side.
Maggie sprinted across the street and to the safety of a dark alley.
Free at last.
She grinned, turning to leave when she crashed into something. Looking down in surprise at a small set of toy angel wings.
Oh no.
Amaranthus clearly had gotten dressed in a hurry but at least had the sense to put on a ocat and decent shoes. She wore a small backpack as well which Mune the cat poked his head out of.
Maggie knelt down. Placing a hand on Ama’s head as if trying to process that the little girl was really here. “Wh-what are you doing?” Maggie hissed.
Ama puffed out her chest, “A Blueblood looks out for their o-own, Daddy said s-so. I gotta lo-ook out for you.”
If she was stuttering from the cold or nerves Maggie couldn’t tell, pulling the little girl into a tight hug despite Mune’s protests.
“You’re the best Angel… but your dad is also gonna kill me so let's get you back home.”
“Let me h-help! You’re gonna go find the puppy’s owner right? You said you w-were sc-scared.”
Maggie nodded, looking back at the manor and up at the moon. She was going to be late at this rate. Plus, if she took Ama back goodness know her boss would already be up and waiting. She was as good as dead no matter what.
Might as well go out with one last hoorah.
“We are going to go find this,” Maggie explained as she pulled a small piece of paper from her pocket to show Ama. On it was the simple drawing of a rabbit. She had not shown William earlier in fear of getting the servant who had given it to her in trouble.
Ama looked at the drawing with a nod, taking Maggie’s hand as they walked down the alleyway. “It’s like the story!”
Ah, so that explained the backpack.
“Heheh, kinda. We need to meet up with some friend’s first. You’re going to have to be really brave Ama. Can you do that?”
The little girl gave a firm nod as they rounded the corner where a car sat waiting.”
“Hey bird! Juno shouted, “get your ass in here!”
Maggie shouted, slapping her hands over Ama’s ears. Vespers and Juno pulling them both into the car with a look of surprise.
“Maggie,” Vespers gasped, “please don’t tell me that's whose kid I think it is.”
Juno frowned, “whose kid is it? Why the fuck would you even bring a kid?”
“Juno!” Maggie screamed as she put her hands over Ama’s ears again and thinking fast. “Sh-shes the kid of one of Blueblood’s secretaries. Snuck out to follow me and if I take her back we’ll get caught. I’m on lockdown right now Angel how did you get out?”
Ama looked at her fellow passengers in fear, choosing to whisper to Maggie instead. “I s-saw you f-fall o-out of the vent and g-go down the st-stairs. S-so I t-took the other st-stairs and went out th-the window.”
“You did?” Maggie asked, beaming with pride. “And nobody saw you?”
Vespers shook his head as he put the car in drive, “talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire Birdie. Great to have you back but you’re fried chicken when this is over.”
Maggie nodded but said nothing else. Buckling a nervous Ama’s seatbelt as they drove through the city.
“You know if my dad hadn't dropped you-”
“You don;t know the whole story moron,” Juno snapped at her brother. “Dad did it so the Godfather had no hold over Aunt Pie. As long as Birdie here was around she was blackmail for Aunt Pie to stay.”
Maggie flinched, she had suspected that's what happened but it still hurt.
“That and the bird is nothing but trouble.”
“Hey!”
“We’re here,” Vespers announced.
Here was an abandoned townhouse, on the side gate was a small rabbit design welded into a post. Behind the townhouse was an old carriage house that seemed to be in much better condition, a small light on inside. Around the carriage yard were all manor of plants and a fancy rabbit hutch in one corner.
“Wh-ere are we?” Ama asked.
“The rabbit’s warren,” Vespers answered. “The home of the best stitch in the city.”
“Stitch?”
“Um, she’s a doctor for people who can’t go to the hospital.” Maggie explained. “The rumor is she was a great surgeon but someone tried to hurt one of her nurses so she defended them but lost her job as a result.”
Ama frowned, “that’s not right.”
“That’s like pipsqueak, “Juno muttered as she knocked on the carriage house door. A man in scrubs answered nodding at the piece of paper Juno held. One with the image of a rabbit on it.
Rabbits were good luck, creativity, and life. The Rabbit’s Warren was near legend. A neutral place that welcomed any patience as long as they came without violence. Because of this the Rabbit’s network of helpers was long and influential. Sneaking into nearly every gang in the city so to act as a relay should one of their own be hurt and assure the Rabbit was aware of all conflicts.
The nurse who let them in held out a basket, Maggie turning Ama to the small fire that had been lit on the pretence of warming her up while Vespers and Juno deposited their weapons into the basket.
They were then led to a small door, ducking down as they found themselves in an elevator that began its descent down. Ama was shaking, Maggie scooping her up into her arms while Mune rubbed against her cheek.
The elevator opened to a long tunnel. An abandoned subway tunnel by the looks of it. Around them here rows of hospital beds each with a curtain around them. Men, women, and even a few animals all in various stages of care. In front of them however was the Rabbit.
The real story was that a shootout had taken place in Dr. Adeline’s ER. The doctor wasted no time in wrestling the gun out of the assailants hands and holding them at gunpoint till help arrived. Help being a rival gang who in turn offered to help her set up shop when she lost her medical licence. She accepted on the grounds she be allowed to except all patients.
Adeline the Rabbit had greying blond hair and the fierce look of a grandmother about to scold her children.
“You brought a child.”
“She’s with me,” Maggie insisted. I’m sorry but please excuse her Ma’am.”
The Rabbit huffed and pulled a lollipop from her lab coat to offer to Ama. “I never turn away children. Just get angry with their wayward caretakers. This is not the kind of place she needs to be in. She should be home, safe.”
Maggie flinched but did not say anything. Hugging Ama tighter as they followed the Rabbit down the tunnel.
“She was brought in with a gunshot wound to the shoulder and one to her lower chest. From what I can tell whoever went at her was aiming from a distance and is either a cheap hire or a lousy shot. She’ll make it but is sleeping off the painkillers.
Juno frowned, “who brought her in?”
The Rabbit pulled back a curtain. There Magpie peacefully slept with layers of bandages wrapped around her chest. In the bed next to her was a sleeping Jack.
Vespers and Juno both swore and reached for the gang leader. The Rabbit holding them back while Maggie held her hands over Ama’s ears again. Biting down her own anger at seeing the man.
“He brought her in!” The Rabbit shouted, “He took a shot to the hip for her!”
This froze everyone, looking to the doctor for an explanation.
“She was out when he had his men take them in. Said he was there to off her but someone had a hit on them both.”
Vespers and Juno asked questions as Maggie approached the bed. Quietly taking Magpie’s hand as relief and dread filled her in equal parts.
“Wh-who is she?” Ama asked.
“Um, kinda like a mom to me I guess,” Maggie explained. “I never called her it but she was just as good as one.”
Ama nodded as she reached into her backpack, pulling out Mune along with an assortment of items till she found what she was looking for. A bandaid covered in purple hearts.
The Rabbit took the tiny bandaid and placed it over the larger ones on Magpie’s shoulder. “This will definitely help her feel better sooner. That was very kind of you.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The ride home was uneventful. Ama seeming to have tired out both from her adventure and her nerves. Perking up as Maggie carried her out of the car and down the street.
“Your dad can’t know about this ok? Pinkie promise?”
Ama nodded and locked pinkies with Maggie before the two dashed across the street and to the wall of the Manor property.
“Ok,” Maggie whispered, “here is the plan. I’m going to set you up on the wall and you need to keep low until I get up there. I’ll hop down to the other side so I can catch you when you jump ok?” Ama nodded as Maggie lifted her up and onto the top of the wall. Maggie then jumping and pulling herself up. Surprised when she realized Ama was not with her.
Several lights flashed on. Maggie being blinded for a moment as she felt someone grab her arm and pull her off the wall. Maggie blinked as she became aware of her surroundings. Pierre was standing over her with a startled Ama in his arms. Like a shadow with the bright lights of the manor behind him stood William.

You don’t have blood that can turn cold. You don’t have breath that can stutter in your chest. But some years ago, you were a human kid, and in this very moment, you remember perfectly how all these things felt.
TG: al
You reread the article. In your mind, your non-existent blood goes from freezing to boiling. You almost forget to switch your language pack to English when you reply to them.

TG: its not silly TG: this whole thing feels wrong TT: Yeah. TG: sooo TG: what do we do abt this TT: What? TG: we should b able to do something about this right TT: You wanna stop the Condesce? TG: ppl in other timelines have done it TT: That is correct. TG: we could do it TG: right TT: I have drafted a plan or two in the past. TG: o have u TT: I wasn’t sure if you were interested. TG: im pretty interested these days TG: the others not so much tbh but i cant blame em TG: theyre worried bc u know. i happen to be a lot less immortal than her or you TT: I’ve planned for that. TG: lmaooo TT: We’ll get you immortal and kill the Condesce, Rox. TG: man u rly are him huh TT: Told you.
Your name is Alan Strider. Sometimes, when you jerk awake at night, you are sure, one hundred percent sure, that Her Imperious Condescension is not done with you yet. Sometimes, when you sit on the deck of the boat you live on, recovering from nightmares, you think that she might come for you one day.
When that happens, you make plans.
You prepare.
It’ll be you who comes for her.
It’s you who’s not done yet.
i wanna hunt like david. i wanna kill me a giant man.
Roxy looks good when they come to meet you by your storage unit in Brazil. Grown up, you think, and determined. Nevertheless, something flickers over their face when you show them what's inside; when they lay eyes on the dismembered imperial drone you stole from your home timeline. You can relate. Your face doesn't show as much, but you feel the same every time you think about it.
You sit on scrap metal and talk about your plans. You have several, for different scenarios, and you accept what Roxy wants to change about them. The phrase Are you sure you want to do this is uttered back and forth a couple of times, before you both understand that yes. You're sure.
The way you end up agreeing on is simple enough -- if it works, you end up with a dead Condesce, a conditionally immortal Roxy, and a destroyed spare body of yours. If it doesn't, you have a list of other plans you can resort to. Stakes are high, but you've thought this through.
It's worth it.
So, you and Roxy get to work. You have to program the drone to go back home to mommy -- step one of the plan is both to find out her whereabouts, and to start coaxing her back to the planet she's having rebuilt. It might take a while, so it'll give you both time to… well, to gather up your things and make arrangements like pet care in your absence and telling your respective friends what's going on, you guess. You're not looking forward to this part of your masterplan, but you barely have time to think about it.
Anything that has you accessing an imperial drone's software is still prone to give you flashbacks bad enough to make your mechanical hands shake, so it's good that you have Roxy by your side this time. Practiced as you might be, they are still way better at this than you. You give them pointers to where they’ll find the parts of the programming you need to hijack, just to speed up the whole process, then you leave them be and go do your own work.
Roxy laugh-scoffed at the way your notes concerning the drone looked. When you disassembled it, you made yourself a map so you could put it back together, but it doesn’t look like something anyone else could ever decipher. It works for you, though. Part for part, the heap of metal starts resembling the huge beasts that almost killed the both of you on numerous occasions again.
“You wanna look over this before I finish it off?” Roxy asks eventually.
“I’m sure you did great,” you say, but you want to look over it anyway. You don’t get shivers down your spine now that you’re a robot, but you feel the sense of cold and dread in the back of your mind, going over the very program that made your lives hell, that both saved you and killed Dirk. Roxy reaches for your hand, and you take it. You exchange another We’re really doing this, huh? look, but nobody says it out loud anymore. You say, “Looks good.”
You captchalogue the finished drone, then transportalize back to Roxy’s part of your home planet, and release it. It’ll find its way back to the Condesce, and then promptly self-destruct, leaving in its wake only a message to goad her back to Earth. Once she’s made it back here, you’ll move on to the next part of the plan.
Until then, for now, you will wait.
Roxy hugs you before they disappear back to a different timeline’s Barcelona, and you disappear back to your boat in a different timeline’s Indian Ocean. Only once you are home and alone do you allow yourself to actually feel something.
Everything from Roxy messaging you to your feet hitting the deck of your yacht again happened without pause, your mind going on autopilot. Something was happening, so something had to be done in response, your plans had to be set in motion, there was no time to think about any of this. No time to fully realize what’s going on.
You stand there in the scorching evening sun of your current timezone, stare out at the horizon, and wait for the fear to come.
What hits you instead is cold, calculating, ready-to-maim anger.
You are not scared of her. Not when you know exactly what you’re going to do, where, how, and when you’re going to do it, to bring her down. You’ve been scared your whole life, and it’s enough, now. It’s enough. She’s taken your family from you, your childhood, your friends, your life as a human kid. If after all she’s put you through there is one person who has the right to destroy your home planet as well, it sure as shit should be you.
You square your shoulders, flex your hands, and refocus. You’ll have to talk to Alma to make sure you can time this coup just right to be back home for his big day.
And before that, after months and months of fighting it, you’ll have to tell your boyfriend that you’re doing the exact thing you promised him not to do.
There’s no going back now. You’ll make whatever sacrifices you need to end it once and for all.
#action post#posted ooc#goliath#:3c#big plot happenings. beeg plot happenings#if all goes well this'll have four parts#over the next............. month im guessing#oh (rubs my grimy hands together) i have such plans

TV SHOW: GODLESS COUPLE: WHITEY WINN X READER (PHYSIC/ FORTUNE TELLER) RATING: CUTE + DARK (RAPE WARNING) + SWEET SMUT
SPOILERS FOR ALL EPISODES
WHITEY’S POV:
I stood sorting out my horse to go out when I heard maggie behind me
“Where the hell are you off too?” she asks
“Oh nowhere... just going for a ride” I answer
“Not without some supper in ya your not come on your getting too dam skinny” she says so I sigh going inside and sitting with her having some soup she made me “where are you going off to today?” she asked
“Nowhere...” I tell her
“Whitey, I’ve seen ya riding off every other day, where are ya going?” she asks
“Visiting a Girl” I blush
“Really...I who’s the lucky lady then?” she asks
“Y/n Y/L/N” I smile
“Y/L/N? isnt that the old crazy guy just down the river?” she asks
“well...he has a daughter, Y/n she’s a fortune teller now” i explain
“really? is she just a friend or....” she smirked and I just shrug
“I do really like her, but I can’t tell how she feels about me” I shrug as i finsih up my food
“Fine but be careful, didnt ya hear what happened to the last boy who kept visiting the house down the river?” she asked
“no” I shrug
“when Mr Y/L/N was a bit more with it a little boy kept visiting his daughter to play games one day they where playing kiss chase the boy tried to kiss her and he shot him” she explained and I just gulp “Just be careful all Im saying” she says before leaving back into town so I sigh going out again and finishing up with my horse and going off town the roads following the river down out of the way of town and far from almost any civilization except a few farms here and there until at last I saw the little house by the river with the little veg growing outside and logs pilled up for the fire some clothes hung out on a line I stopped a little far away putting my guns away before going closer soon enough the dog by the door sat up and growled at me before until I saw it was me and the dog ran up to my horse woofing and jumping trying to play
“Okay okay, Maxie Give me a sec” i told the dog stopping my horse and tieing him up close to the river so he could drink “Hey Maxie” i tell the dog giving her a stroke and she kept licking me like crazy trying to play still woofing like mad
“Maxie what on earth is the matter” Y/n says coming out the door and Maxie returned to her happily “WHITEY!” she giggled running and hugging me
“Whoa! Hi Y/n” I smile hugging her tightly too
“WHO IS IT!” I heard her father shout from the door
“It’s just whitey papa” she smiles back pulling away from our hug “well what can I do for you today?” she smiles
“Just the usual Y/n i just wanted to come see you” i smile at her
“come on then” she smiles taking my hand and dragging me inside the house with her having to go past her father who looked at me evilly as she walked me though the living room and kitchen though to her little bedroom, the room is as simple as any other room but with rugs on the floor and a table in the middle where she does all her work her bed tucked up in the corner covered with alot of blankets and teddy bears and a shelf to the other side with all sorts of little potions and things on she doesn't have a door just a curtain of all sorts of ribbons and beads so if you where no open side you couldn't see what was going on “sit down” she smiles so I sit in the chair I normally do and she sits in the one across from me getting her cards sitting them on the table “ready?” she asks and I nod setting out a bunch of cards
“Uhhh That one” I tell her pointing to the third card so she flipped it over it was luck “Yes!” I smile happily
“you always get luck” she laughs
“Clearly I’m lucky” I laugh
“Very lucky, I wish you could bloody give me some good luck” she smiled continuing to flip cards “Ohhh In balance” she smirked
“is that good?” I ask her
“well it’s not bad reciserily” she laughs
“okay, so some as always” I ask
“Pretty much” she smiles
“Okay” I sigh “thanks anyway Y/n” I blush
“Your welcome whitey” she smiles “You know there is a easly more indepth way to read you know” she smiled
“Ohh how?” I ask her
“Give me your hand” she smiles so I let her pack her cards away and i put my hand on the table and she took my hand carefully running her little soft fingers across my hand looking so deeply at it “you have soft hands” she smiled
“Thank you, you do too” I tell her she was quiet for a moment before she laughed moving to get a cup of water putting a little water on my hand and moving her hands around with the water in my hand “Your hands are so dirty” she laughed getting the skirt of her dress to dry my hand “thats better, i can see the lines rather then just mud” she giggled
“what can you see?” I ask her
“your heart line crosses your life line, soon too” she laughed
“soo? what does that mean?” I ask her
“It means your gonna meet the woman you destined to be with, pretty soon I would say next few days or you've known her a month of so” she laughed “Or the man” she smiled
“The woman I hope” I laugh
“Just checking whitey” she laughs “Ohh your life line ends so abruptly” she sighs
“what like quick death?” i ask her
“yeah, I would say gun fight most likely knowing you” she laughed
“what else can you find out?” I ask her
“well...this line crosses your heart line...it means you have a big heart, but I already knew that” she giggled “This means your lucky, but should avoid being cocky it might get your hurt” she explained
“Y/N! GET OUT HERE!” Her father yelled
“I’ll be back in a minuet” she sighs giving my hand a little kiss before she got up and went out to her father I was lost for a moment in my own little world my hand tingeing so happy where she had kissed me I heard a bit of muffled shouting what I didn't hear just as her father came in
“It’s time for you to go” her father told me
“Isn’t Y/n coming-” I begin
“she has chores to do, you run along home now, I’ll sure she’ll catch up next time she goes to town” he says so I sigh getting up and going out the little house giving Maxie a stroke as I went over to my horse sighing Y/n wasn't meant to be coming into town for another three weeks, I looked around outside hoping to see her but I couldn't I went to get on my horse when I noticed a little bit of paper on the saddle so I pick it up and I reconised Y/n’s sweet handwriting
“I’m so sorry I had to run off whitey, Papa said I had work to do, I will finish off what we where doing next time you visit...I would wait a few days while papa calms down, See You Soon Whitey X”
it made me feel a bit better I know its not her fault it’s just her father being mean to her and not letting her do as she likes so I got up on my horse and went home trying to not use my hand to much the one she kissed still all giggly laying in bed trying to see the lines and things she sees in my hand but I couldn’t so i just went to sleep
TIMESKIP:
I waited a few days before going off down the river again to her little house when I got there as usually Maxie went crazy trying to come over and say hello to me but her father was gardening and he grabbed Maxie by her collar not letting her go any further “What Do you want!” he snapped
“I’ll here to see y/n” I tell him
“Y/n’s busy” he says
“It’s okay, maybe I could help her with-” I begin
“I said she’s busy! Too Busy to talk with a bastard like you” he says
“Where is Y/n?” I ask him “I just want to see her” I tell him
“Y/N! STOP WASHING MA CLOTHES An GET OUT HERE!” he yells and within a couple seconds Y/n came out the house but she didn't run to me or hug me or even smile at me she looked like she was going to cry “there you seen her, now run off home” he tells me
“papa..Couldn’t I just-” she began
“Y/N! GO BACK INSIDE!” he shouted
“papa one minuet please” she asks
“one minuet” He told her so she ran over hugging me tightly and he went inside with Maxie so I hugged her back
“Y/n what’s going on?” I ask her
“Nothing, I promise, it’s not safe to visit while papa is here, come back tomorrow afternoon he’s going to the salon across town” she smiles
“Y/n-” I begin
“Please whitey just do as I ask” she begs
“Of course y/n, are you sure you will be safe?” I ask her and she nodded gravely as her father came back out
“Thats a minuet, Y/n you come back inside now” he told her
“Yes papa” she said sadly leaving my arms and returning to her house
“run of home now Kid” her father told me so I sighed getting back on my horse and going off back to town....
It got to about mid day so I rode out to Y/n’s little house again staying in the tree’s and bushes walking along side my horse every few steps I went I heard a noise it was rhythmic like a muffled screaming so I hurried towards her little house but the sound stopped rather quickly but I kept going till I saw her little house her father was still there something had clearly happened as Y/n was laid on her stomach over a planter in the garden with her father stood just behind her lighting a smoke so I hid down under a little bush trying to hear what he was saying
“I dont know why you bother screaming y/n it’s not lke someones going to hear ya” he laughed
“I’m sorry Papa” she said sounding like she was crying
“Soon little Darling you will learn to just accept me, it will hurt so much less” he smirked holding her close and kissing her neck harshly THAT BASTARD! I quickly got my rifle from my horse laying on the floor trying to aim at him trying to take him out but he was too close to y/n I dont want to risk hitting her he then moved away from her sorting his horse to go I followed him for a moment but i felt a pain stick in my stomach a bit of glass in the sand sliced my skin open it wasn't gushing with blood but it did hurt alot so I had to let him ride off slowly getting up being in a lot of pain as I wonder over slowly to where y/n now stood hanging up some clothes
“whitey” she smiled before noting I was in pain “whats the matter?” she asked
“floor glass” I tell her
“Oh you poor thing, come with me” she smiled helping me into the house and laying me down on her bed after a couple seconds I feel asleep .... when I woke up Y/n was stood over me cleaning my cut up with some clean water and a few little herbs “Hi whitey” she blushed
“Hi...What- What are you doing?” I ask her noticing she was fiddling a lot with some things and my shirts where gone
“Helping” she smiles “put a few little herbs and things in the right places and you’ll be back to normal in no time” she smiles fixing a bit of hair behind her ear and I saw her eye, she had a black eye
“Y/n? where did that come from?” i ask her trying to touch it
“Im fine” she says sharply putting my hand back down on her bed
“that’s not what I asked you Y/n” I tell her
“papa, caught me...trying to write, to tell you not to come till later” she explained
“Y/n...has he always done this to you?” I ask her and she just nods “why didn't you tell me y/n”
“It’s family business thats what papa says” she replies
“But Y/n thats not normal thats not what families do to each other they dont punch each other the most you get is maybe a strong talking to or bed without dinner this...isnt right” I tell her
“It’s just how he’s always been” she says finishing up with my cut and wrapping it up
“Thank you y/n” I tell her
“Its alright” she blushes giving the bandage a little kiss
“Y/n...just before your father left, I saw you two outside....what was he doing to you?” I ask her
“I would rather not talk about it” she says sadly getting up and going to do something else over by her shelf
“fine you dont have to talk about it, but when I ask you, you tell me the truth okay?” I ask her and she gravely nods still facing away from me “was it you who was screaming?” I ask and she just nods “was he hitting you?” I ask her and she just shakes her head “was he in any way disapining you?” i ask her and she just shakes her head and my heart broke realizing what he was doing to her “Y/n....Oh come here” I tell her and she happily runs over hugging tightly onto my chest for a moment “Y/n...was he...?” I begin and she just nodded “How long?” I ask her
“Since I was 12, when my mother died” she said sadly
“Oh y/n Im so sorry, I cant believe I didn't notice, how did I not see it, it was so bloody obvious” I sigh
“I’m used to it” she said sadly getting up and getting a little bottle of something trying to put it on her eye but she kept flinching in pain so I took the bottle from her and doing it myself carefully taking care of her once it was all done she looked alright almost back to normal again “Thank you whitey” she smiled
“Your welcome” I tell her “Thank you for fixing me up” I tell her with a slight laugh
“Your welcome whitey” she smiled
“I should really pay you back” I tell her
“It’s fine whitey, couldn't leave you bleeding out on the doorstep” she laughs “besides I dont go out moneys not worth much to me” she sighs
“i didn't mean like money” I tell her
“Then what?” she asks backing her herbs and such away so I move her chin up to look at me and press a sweet kiss to her lips she didnt kiss back her heart rate going crazy when I pulled back I saw her face she looked shocked like she didn't know what to do so I quickly got up and got dressed again
“I should uh...I should go” I tell her and she just nods I quickly grab my things and go out to my horse still tied up where I left him I felt like shit for a moment
“whitey?” she says from her door making me turn back to face her she giggled slowly coming over to me putting her hands on my chest and kissing me I kissed her back wrapping my arms around her waist as we kissed “Same time next week” she smiles
“See you then my darling” I tell her before going off home
TIMESKIP:
I sat across the river waiting though the horrible sounds as Y/n’s father as he made her her bend over before he left Why the hell didn't I bring my bloody rifle I cant hit him from here not with my guns not without being in danger of hurting y/n I just had to sit and listen to her quiet screams and cries “Oh dont bother screaming, what you think your pretty little cowboy boyfriends gonna come save ya” he father “DO YA ! do you think that little pipsqueak whiteys gonna come save ya”yelled “Well he’s not he doesnt love ya Y/n not Like I do, he just wants your pussy Y/n, I love ya he’s not coming to save ya anytime soon” hitting her as he continued wanted to kill him so bad but I couldn't from here and even if I did y/n would never forgive me it’s my own dam fault she said come at 1 i got here at quarter past 12 having to listen to this is my own dam fault at last he left her alone climbed on his horse and went off to go get drunk so she just stood by the garden for a moment obviously waiting for me so I snuch up behind her making her jump as I wrapped my arms around her “Whitey” she giggled realizing it was me quickly turning and kissing me as passionately as last I saw her but this time even more so as the kiss went on her hands slipping down to undo my shirt
“y/n, what are you doing?” I ask her but she just returned to kissing me my hands uncontrollably slipped down to her arse and she moved her hips in such a way it was like she was shaking her arse intentionally cause my hands where there her hands now done undoing my shirt completely her now moving forward so much i could feel her breasts though her dress against my skin taking my hands away from groping her arse a moment to take my shirt off “ummm Y/n” I moan a little suprised at her before she pulls away taking me inside the house and laying me on her bed laying ontop of me and kissing me more her lips where so sweet like I never wanted to stop kissing her as her hand slipped down undoing my jeans pulling them down alittle and sitting ontop of me her pussy inches from my cock “Uhhh Y/n...I dont know if we should-” I begin before she moved so I slipped inside her tight wet pussy
“if we should what?” she giggles
“I was gonna say I dont know if we should have sex” I tell her
“well your inside me now whitey its a bit late for that” she giggles
“I mean making out and everything is one thing but...are you sure about this?” I ask her and she just nods moving my hands to her hips as she bounced up and down on me her every tiny movement from the tiny little bounces, my little thrusts, her occasionally clenching herself around me all felt so good each one making me feel so on edge already so close “Uhhh Y/n!” I moan moving her hips a bit with my hands making her go even faster
“Ohh Whitey!” she moans back having to nuzzle her head into my neck sucking on my skin giving my hickeys to keep her self from screaming to loud as she bounced faster and harder overloading my mind with pleasure
“UHHH OH GOD Y/N!” I scream “Y/n, Y/N a little fast please Y/n I’m so close” I tell her and she happily speeds up by alot the fastest she could go and within seconds I felt myself release inside her and she collapsed against my chest both of us breathing heavily trying to calm down “God Y/n you are fucking good at that” I tell her
“Thanks whitey, you where pretty good too” she giggles giving me a few more sweet little kisses going quickly back to our make out again
“I wonder if anyone heard us” I smirk between out lusty kisses
“Yeah I did” a voice says from the door and there stood her father “saw ya too” he said before throwing a knife at us lucky he missed “YOU BASTARD WHAT WHERE YOU JUST DOING WITH MY DAUGHTER!” he yelled as me and y/n separated quickly sorting myself out
“PAPA LEAVE HIM ALONE!” Y/n screamed back at him trying to making him stop as he went for me but y/n got in the way and he punched her and kicked her over and over trying to get to me I quickly opened her window and ran for it she grabbed my hand and jumped out the window too both of us running to my horse but her father had shot him so we quickly got her’s and rushed off away from the house with her father firieing at us I circled back trying to not lead him to La belle but one time we went back her house was in flames all her beautiful tools and books and all her things gone, burnt up by her father as he stood there on the lawn gun still in hand she burst into tears cuddling me closely crying on my shoulder cuddling into my chest
“Oh y/n, it’s alright I’ll get you new stuff, nicer stuff hey,dont worry” I told her
“but most of it wasnt mine, my mother gave me that stuff” she cried
“I know Y/n, Im so sorry” I tell her before we went off back to my little house maggie saw me coming back she was sat on her porch as I came back y/n now asleep on me
“I take it this is the famous Y/n” she smirked
“shhh she’s sleeping, she’s had a rough day” I say quietly getting off her horse and taking her off carrying her into my house and letting her rest on my bed I went to go and put another bit of wood on the fire but i heard her groan rather annoyed sounding so I went over to her
“Ummm whitey?” she complains moving her arms around as if trying to find me confused why I wasn't there
“I’m here dont worry” I tell her her hand finding my face and she smiles sleepily
“i cant sleep without you here with me” she said sadly so I sigh stripping my shirt off and getting into bed with her letting her cuddle me closely “Yay whitey protect me” she giggled sounding almost completely asleep
“I’ll always protect ya, because I love you y/n, and i’ll always be around to save ya” I tell her gving her head a sweet kiss but she was already fast asleep.

Hey, I'm not going to womansplain feminism to the readers of Esquire! That's not happening on my watch! You're sophisticated, 21st century men with a copy of the El Bulli cookbook, a timeless pair of investment brogues and a couple of Joni Mitchell albums — for when you want to sit in your leather armchair, and have a little, noble, necessary man-cry.
You don't need me lecturing you — because you're not hanging out the back of a bus shouting "CLUNGE!" at a bunch of terrified 15-year-old girls. You've got sisters, mothers, lovers — female friends and colleagues — and you've never once gone up to any of them shouting, "Blimey! You don't get many of those to the pahnd!" while honking on their breasts, in the manner of Sid James. You're down with the sisterhood. You've got eyes. You know what's going on out there. You've noted that while society's happy for a famous man to age, and become distinguished, and generally wander around looking like a fucking wizard, the women generally still seem to be 20 years younger, and standing there on the cover of magazines, all like, "Oh! My clothes… they fell off!" EVEN IF IT'S DAME JUDI DENCH.
You know the pay disparity; still 20 per cent less for women in this country, and not a single prosecution, even though it's literally illegal. You know babies come out of vaginas and it fucking stings, and that the vaginas are having a hard time anyway, what with all the waxing they get. (That's £20 a pop, my friend. Every single month. Just to feel normal. It's basically VAT on your minge. Imagine if you had to get your bum-hole stripped every 30 days — lest the mean girls at school corner you on the bus home and go, "I've heard you're like Catweazle down there. Someone who fingered you said it was like diddling a Gonk. Ugh.")
You've seen Amy Schumer's brilliant, edgy sketches on contraception and rape, and laughed along with them. You've called Donald Trump "a twat" for his sexist comments about a female news anchor being on her period. You've watched the whole Caitlyn Jenner trans thing unfold and gone, "You know what — this all seems fair enough. I am down with the trans thing."
So, no. I'm not going to womansplain feminism to you. It's the 21st century and you are, most assuredly, not a dick. You like women being equal to men — which is all that feminism means. Not all the penises being burned in a Penis Bonfire. Just women being equal to men. You are like my friend John, when he talks about dating alpha-women: "Feel intimidated by them? Christ, no. Dating and marrying powerful women is like big game hunting. I fuck tigers and panthers. Not… chihuahuas."
No. You get feminism. You don't need Tits McGee here to take you through it one more time. So, what I am going to do, instead, is tell you 12 things about women that women are usually too embarrassed to tell you themselves. Because I am a chronic over-sharer, and incapable of keeping secrets. I'm like that other Deep Throat. The chatty Watergate one. That's the Deep Throat I am.
1. No mumbling
Like you, we feel a bit embarrassed about saying the word "feminism". It's the same as when you say the word "environment". They both have that slight implication of, "I'm now going to launch into a speech that's basically about what a great person I am".
Unfortunately, in both cases, the entire future of the world does rest on people being able to say those words properly, and not mumbling "femernism", or "envibeoment".
You just have to shut yourself in a cupboard and say them over and over again — "FEMINISM! ENVIRONMENT! FEMINISM! ENVIRONMENT!" — until they feel as normal as saying "pina colada", or "Michael Fassbender". Which are both, when you think about it, much odder-sounding.
2. 'The Man'
So, when women talk about "The Man", we're not talking about you. You're just a man. You're not The Man. Similarly, when we talk about the patriarchy, that's not you, either. You're not the patriarchy. You're just… Patrick. When we're doing those "MEN!" chats, we're just identifying the general locus of the problem, ie, most of the power and influence being held by a small amount of men.
Because remember that patriarchy's bumming you as hard as it's bumming us. We're bulimic, objectified and under-promoted. You, meanwhile, are unable to talk about your feelings lest you get punched in the nuts by "a lad" telling you not to be "a bender". You are unlikely to get custody of your kids, and are three times more likely to commit suicide. Feminism's about sorting all this stuff out. Because it's about equality. Not burning the penises. I can't emphasise enough how much it's not about burning penises. No burnt penises here.
3. Periods
We're still pretty traumatised about our periods, even though we're now 40. Being a woman doesn't make "being a woman" any easier. All that womb-shit is nuts. It's like having an exploding, insane blood-bag of pain up in your business end — nothing really prepares you for when it all kicks off. One day, you're just a kid on your bike. The next, you're suddenly having to wedge a tiny Barbie mattress in your knickers, crying while you watch Bergerac, and eating Nurofen Plus like they're Tic Tacs.
Men, imagine if, some time around your 12th birthday, some manner of viscous liquid — let's say gravy — suddenly appeared in your pants, in the middle of a maths lesson. And then it turned up every month for the next 30 years. You'd be all like "NO!" and "WTF?!?!" and "SRSLY??? THIS????" That's what we're like, too. We're not wise, or in touch with nature, or down with it. We're just people with a whole load more laundry issues than you. Have you ever tried to scrub blood out of a Premier Inn sheet at 6am, using just travel shampoo and your toothbrush? It's one of the defining aspects of being a woman.
4. Abortion
Likewise, imagine accidentally getting pregnant at 16, then having to run past a barrage of anti-abortion protestors outside your local clinic, all holding up pictures of dead foetuses. We're not dealing with this in a special, noble lady-way. We're like, "THIS IS ALREADY A REALLY, REALLY SHIT DAY. I PRESUME YOUR CONCERN FOR THE WELFARE OF CHILDREN EXTENDS INTO A LIFE SPENT VOLUNTEERING IN CARE HOMES, FOSTERING AND DONATING YOUR WAGES TO THE NSPCC — AND DOESN'T SOLELY REST ON HARASSING AND ABUSING TEARFUL, POSSIBLY RAPED WOMEN WHO ARE TRYING TO GET A SAFE, LEGAL MEDICAL PROCEDURE SO THEY DON'T FUCK UP THE REST OF THEIR LIVES."
Here's another thing we're too embarrassed to say: we'd love it if a big bunch of pro-choice men turned up at these clinics, and helped escort the scared women in. That would be some top bro solidarity.
5. Talking
In the last year or so, we saw this study, from America, and it broke our hearts a bit, because it explains so much: in a mixed-gender group, when women talk 25 per cent of the time or less, it's seen as being "equally balanced". And if women talk 25–50 per cent of the time, they're seen as "dominating the conversation".
And we remembered all the times on social media, or in conversations, an angry man has said, "Women are WINNING now. Women are EVERYWHERE. It is MEN who are being silenced", and it all made sense.
6. Fear
We're scared. We don't want to mention it, because it's kind of a bummer, chat-wise, and we'd really like to talk about stuff that makes us happy, like look at our daughters — and we can't help but think, "Which one of us? And when?" We walk down the street at night with our keys clutched between our fingers, as a weapon. We move in packs — because it's safer. We talk to each other for hours on the phone — to share knowledge. But we don't want to go on about it to you, because that would be morbid. We just feel anxious. We're scared. Given the figures, we can't sometimes help but feel we're just… waiting for the bad thing to come. Because that would be a realistic thing to think, and we like to be prepared. Awfully, horribly, fearfully prepared.
7. Tired
We're tired. So, so tired. From the moment we grew our tits, we've been cat-called in the street; commented on by relatives ("Ooooh, she's big-boned"; "Well, you'll be a heart-breaker") as if we weren't standing there in front of them, hearing all this. We've seen our biggest female role-models and icons shamed in the press, over and over: computers hacked and nude pictures released; sex-tapes released. So we know even success, and money, will not protect us from the humiliation of simply being a woman. We know we must have our babies when we're young — the eggs are running out! — but we must also work for less money, as discussed above. So that makes us tired.
This is why, maybe, women can become suddenly furious — why online discussions about feminism suddenly ignite into rage. Tired, scared people are apt to lash out. Anger is just fear, brought to the boil.
8. Wanking
We masturbate as much as you do. One of the few times I have been personally offended was when Martin Amis commented on a column I wrote about female masturbation. "Christ," Amis said, "that's sort of lad's mag talk — sort of more male than male."
Obviously, I am noble enough to recognise that Amis is from an older generation — one whose women, by and large, did not feel comfortable discussing their sexuality in any great detail. But it does seem amazing that a clever, well-travelled man, whose job it is to examine the human condition, and who had a pretty steamy relationship with Germaine Greer at one point, has never realised that women can be just as driven by their desire as men.
I'm gonna be honest with you — for the first five years of my adult life, most of my decisions were made by the contents of my pants. My vagina was — by way of Audrey II in Little Shop Of Horrors — constantly shouting "Feed me!", and breaking into musical numbers when I was trying to listen to my brain instead. If I had not discovered masturbation, I would have spent the majority of my time sitting on shed roofs, like a cat on heat, yowling at the moon. If a young woman isn't to go mad, then masturbation is a needful hobby, as vital as going on long country walks, to get a bit of air in your lungs, and pursuing the revolution. And what a hobby it is! It doesn't cost anything, it doesn't make you fat, you can knock it off in five minutes flat if you think about Han Solo, or some monkeys "doing it" on an Attenborough documentary, and it means you can face the world with a kind of stoned, post-coital cheerfulness that would otherwise require Valium, or constant spa-breaks.
There's a reason why God designed our bodies so that, when we lie down in bed, our hands naturally come to rest on our genitals. It's the Lord's way of saying, "Go on, have a fiddle. Find out how you work. And then, when you go out into the world, you won't be waiting for some bloke to come along and have sex on you. You'll be in the sex, too. It'll be like this… joint endeavour? A thing you can do together? That was kind of how I planned it all along, TBH. So, my Eleventh Commandment is 'Thou Shalt Buff Your Fnuh.' That's official. Signed, God."
9. Clothes
You know when we stand in front of a full wardrobe and say, "I don't have anything to wear!"? Obviously we have things to wear. You can see all the shit from where you are standing, fully dressed, ready to leave the house. What we mean is, "I don't have anything to wear for who I need to be today." What women wear is incredibly important and not just because we live in a society with a $1.5 trillion fashion-industry, and spend most of our spare time looking at cut-price Marc Jacobs handbags on theoutnet.com.
As we are the half of the world that still doesn't get to say as much as men (see stats earlier), how we look works by way of our opening paragraph in any social setting. Think of all the different kinds of looks women can have, depending on their clothes, hair and make-up: "Slutty". "Ball-busting". "Mumsy". "Manic Pixie Dream Girl". "Gym-bunny". "Mutton". "Nerdy". "Unfuckable".
Now think of all the ways men can dress. It's basically "some trousers". Ninety per cent of what men wear is "some trousers". You're just getting up in the morning, putting on your trousers and getting on with stuff.
And we fret about all this — appearance, clothes — because it matters. If we're still getting talked-over at meetings, is it because we're not dressing powerfully enough? If we're getting sexually harassed, is it because we're wearing the wrong skirt? In 2008, a rape case was overturned because the judge decided the alleged victim must have consented to sex, because her jeans were "too tight" for the accused to remove on his own. This is what we're thinking about, when we stand in front of the wardrobe. Will this outfit define the rest of today? Will it, if I am very unlucky, affect my life? Is this going to be the subject of a court-case? Could I run for my life in these shoes? Do I have anything for who I need to be today?
10. Male feminists
We're embarrassed when other women say, "Men can't be feminists!" We don't want to get into an argument, but we just can't see the logic in it. Feminism can only work if men are feminists, too — because the only indice by which feminism will succeed is based on how many people believe in it, support it, and want it to happen. By definition, it has to be a populist movement. There's no point in only 27 per cent of people believing in equality because the maths, very obviously, show that you won't be equal if 73 per cent of people think you're not. You can't go and… hide the feminism in a special secret place, and only let certain people have access to it. Besides, as discussed above, men need feminism almost as badly as women do. So, lady-balls to "men can't be feminists". We disbelieve that. In our vaginas.
11. Carbs
Our ultimate aim, when it comes to men, is to find an amusing mate we can have sex with, then sit on the sofa with, watching re-runs of Seinfeld and eating a baked potato. Discount all that Christian Grey/abs of steel/"bad boy" shit. Our priorities are: 1) Kindness; 2) Jokes; 3) High tolerance of carbs.
12. Trainers
It actually was us that threw those horrible old trainers of yours away. That story about how a time-portal opened up, and they were stolen away by your own teenaged self? That was a lie.
