the funniest part of bg3 to me is that they keep talking about how vampires are super enhanced and have incredible abilities and are super scary, even if they're spawn, etc... yet astarion has a strength modifier of fucking 0 and can jump a distance of like 20cm, he's always without fail the first one in my party to eat shit no matter what i have him do, he's not even particularly fast. i have to assume that either the vampires are really good at PR and managed to convince everyone they have superpowers when they don't, or astarion was such a cringe elf that this is him with super strength and speed. and personally i know which one i find funnier

Wanted to mention the lyrics to the BSD 5 opening and their significance to a specific scene

There are places you can't go.

So when showing the rift between Atsushi and Akutagawa (life and death), the lyrics mention the afterlife. A place only Akutagawa can see, after death. Then, "there are places you can't go."

From Akutagawa's perspective, it would be "I am in a place only seen after death. You can't come to this place; you can't follow me."

From Atsushi's perspective, this would be "You are somewhere that I can't see, that I can't reach. You can't go there [you can't leave me]."

only bad thing about being in a fandom where one of the characters canonically has wings is the painful lack of classic wingfic. where is my everything's the same but people have bird wings watford au where one day baz notices simon hasn't been grooming his wings bc of an injury to his ribs so he sits on his bed and makes a whole fuss about how "i'm not doing this to be nice, snow, your wings are just a travesty to look at" and then proceeds to carefully and lovingly tidy his feathers in drawn out silence while they both pretend grooming someone else's wings isn't one of the most intimate things you can do for another person. will this heartbreak never end

So the recent lovely adorable Catula art got me thinking about the Dracula cast and animals. Namely, what pets they would have.

Jonathan+Mina - they both love cats, Jonathan often feeds strays, and after all that's happened they're finally able to get their own cat now that they have a stable home/money/etc. The cat and baby Quincey Harker are best friends.

Quincey Harker - The family cat of course, but later on Uncle Art gets him a dog (maybe a puppy from Lucy's pug, see below), and I think he would very much be the kind of kid who always tries to adopt random animals he finds while playing, especially if they're hurt or seem abandoned. More often than not he gets his wish since his parents are softies.

Arthur - dogs, obviously. He keeps them for hunting but also very much dotes on them and loves them. Also, I want Lucy to have had a pet pug (pre-unhealthy breeding standards) that Arthur adopts after her death, because I think that is a very adorable idea and also maybe a comfort to them both when they needed it. (The pug was just never mentioned but it was totally there all along. Lucy's mom was worried it would disturb her sleep and kept it our of her room when she was more seriously sick, which is very upsetting except it does mean it survived the final attack night.)

Quincey - He's great with horses and does love them but I don't think he thinks of them as pets exactly. At least, I really love the idea of him thinking snakes are very cute, or maybe spiders. Imagine Quincey with a pet garter snake or tarantula. If the latter, maybe he caught it as a kid and still has it (since they can live like 30 years).

Seward - He claims not to really be an animal person and not to want any pets, but there is an asylum cat that spends approximately 80% of every day napping in the sun in his office. Sometimes it steals his chair or his desk and he just goes along with it. Definitely isn't sneaking it treats or anything, no way, its job is to catch mice and he won't ruin its appetite (he says hiding meat in his pockets).

Van Helsing - I REALLY want the reason he thinks parrots are immortal to be because he inherited one from his parents. It's older than he is, and as a kid he just assumed it must be immortal and has never fact-checked this belief. The parrot speaks almost entirely in mixed metaphors using multiple languages, just like its person.

BSD is the most melodramatic fandom I've ever been in, omfg.

No one will die! No one dies in this fucking anime!

Name me ONE named character who died. Oda doesn't count, he's Dazai's sad backstory, he was already dead. I'd say 'name me a character who survived an arc and then died', but I don't need even that. Just name me all dead characters (from the main story). Go on. Try.

I'll give you that: Fukuzawa may die. He's not the character who's moving a plot, but his death can. His death may actually serve something most of the fandom doesn't for some reason understand - narrative purpose.

DoA's members may or may not die, it's hard to say, because, on one hand, no one of importance ever fucking died in that manga yet; on the other hand, that arc takes half of the current manga so we may have first 'villain' death. I'd even cheer.

But the ADA? Survives. Atsushi? You all act like it's the first time he loses a leg, come on. Aya? She is the first child to survive 'Asagiri loves to blow up children' plot-point, she can survive anything.

Dazai is immune to death, change my mind.

Additionally - I love the way The Quarry portrays Werewolves. It scratches an itch and makes me giggle even harder at how unserious the wolves in the sims are. Heartbreaking for me as a sims occult lover and werewolf enthusiast
