i wish bluesky had the features of an app designed in the 2020s vs the 2010s. i wish tumblr was more stimulating and functional and allowed adult content from users who aren’t porn bots. i wish twitter wasn’t owned and being steadily destroyed by a fascist and didn’t house the some of the worst breeds of bully i’ve ever seen because it’s so fucking fun otherwise.

that's true, leander must be a hard cookie to pull of that feat and leander does seem like the type where you'll always guess what his next move will be. that's a good point considering kuras was able to attach the mc arm back to her body and make it almost brand new. his background would probably be the most important one.

i think their will probably be release when their character designs are finally confirmed/done but considering the game is coming out in 2025, we might get their sheets in 2024 :(

it's a bit hard to figure out vere's relationship with kuras and their dynamic since we didn't see them properly interact as a pair in the demo but it just goes to show how smart the studio is with dropping the right hints/clues for everyone to be head over the game.

mhin's relationship with the senobium also seem complex too so their and kuras/vere might be interlinked together in a certain way. well, i just hope that the game doesn't get delay to 2026 or something considering it's such a small studio. the demo took them two years to make.

that would be a sweet drabble to read and mhin's outfit is a nice finishing touch too. canva is a useful tool to make something like that, it's easy to use. that's true but i feel like with ais, he can afford to take that risk with his behaviour considering he does have the soulless as his servants.

i get where you're considering from because vere's outfit definitely seem to be the most gender neutral among the cast. i agreed with you but i feel like the studio chose the palette/outfit that suited the personality most of each character. but i feel like mhin got black streaks in their hair or may just be the roots or maybe i'm just overthinking it.

tbh, i do wish that some otome games would focus on the breakup of platonic love because dealing/accepting it can be quite hard esp the aftermath. that's a great idea! it's hard to find that content altogether in most fandoms so that would be interesting to read and the representation too. what fem characters do you have in store? it is annoying but sometimes, the studio use it as a trope to create conflict in the character troupe but there are other way to do that, they just need to brainstorm more ideas.

er, i would find that terrifying and morbid but i'm not a proper ais stan. well, leander was the only one with blushing/shy emojis so you are heading in the right direction regarding him. i suppose in that situation, it would be a lot easier for leander to play the victim card too like he could say i look after you so much, why are you being mean then? to the mc or something along those lines.

i think there are some yan! servers that you can join on discord to get help from other writes or just general advice if you want to improve. tbh, i remember seeing a yan! request regarding three characters from TR and one was Chifuyu but the writer replied i cannot do him because i can't imagine him as a yandere at all so it does happen!

what's nightowl? i think kazutora is a great candidate considering how unhinged he was in season 1. the best thing about ao3 is that the platform have a feature that tell you how many users had read your fics!

yes! even though ais is my favorite, i think kuras and mhin have the most interesting back stories for me! especially kuras like, what are u hiding angel man?! not gonna lie, sort of hoping the chara sheets come earlier than that. i think they might to keep interest!! also what i found interesting during the demo is that vere was able to stay within the same space as kuras though, during the tavern scene!

from what i got from mhin's dialogue, i think mhin may have been a student at the senobium who was kicked out? or something along those lines! and i agree with the delay, but i'm also thinking that i could handle a delay in order to get the best finished product!

also eee, ngl i've used canva maybe once or twice and it's soo confusing to use for me *_*... i'm really bad at any type of editing or graphics, so i try to find premade things... but i really do wanna start making better banners for fics and such T_T.

Omg you discord post is exactly what I’ve been thinking as well. I’ve joined it for fandoms and school groups and irl community stuff and each and every time I get so anxious that I end up going ghost. Speaking specifically on fandom though, I recently deleted my account and the app (love being #free) because the one to one feel of involvement is A Lot. I love screaming into the void and shooting off a stupid post way too much so having to think through everything I say is anxiety like I don’t actually want to feel like I’m in a chat room? Idk but it’s the same with twitter, I use it to crack some jokes but the extra sense of familiarity that seems to come with frequent interactions overwhelms me and everyone else just seems to be okay with it. I realize that’s a box of a social anxiety thing in general though. Anyway not that you asked bit this is why I don’t think I’ll ever leave tumblr it caters so perfectly to the hermit in me lol

oh bud i completely feel you, it's an absolute nightmare for people with any amount of social anxiety. pretty much the only reason i use discord is for ttrpg organizational purposes, and for the one movie watching/music league group chat with my group of friends; any servers i've joined that are bigger than that i go through the exact same process every time: agonize over what to say for several days because everyone else already seems incredibly familiar with each other in a way that's so deeply terrifying and intimidating and then eventually just leaving again. which sux! i wanna Take Part In Stuff and meet people who share my interests but i'm a big ball of anxiety and that setting is my nightmare... so i definitely get you. and good on you for deciding that you're no longer getting anything out of it and pulling the plug! it can be hard especially with how much it's assumed that you have certain social media and FOMO and alla dat, so i'm glad you were able to draw a line and i hope it helps make you feel more comfortable.

i don't mind twitter as much because it feels more passive in a lot of ways. like, engagement can just be a driveby fav or even if you do reply or someone replies to you there's an inherent built-in acceptance of delay in response or even just like. Acknowledgement By Fav Can Be Enough. which imo is definitely not the atmosphere for discord at least ime. but it's still not great for fandom stuff for a ton of other reasons including the complete lack of archiving. and honestly, i abandoned my public twitter for my locked down private one for a multitude of reasons and the anxiety around having to keep up some sort of Public Persona is definitely part of it, so i absolutely understand you on that level as well.

tumblr has its own issues obviously, but like you i never felt the same sense of pressure or dread here. a big part of that is obviously the whole reblog system in itself, in that it's totally fine and even encouraged to just, idk , silently curate pretty pictures for a bit and at most commenting in the tags when you have something to say or w/e, but also being able to do the whole shooting random thoughts into the void whenever you want to instead. it's also much, much easier to curate my experience here than anywhere else lol. much more robust blacklisting functions available (albeit reliant on third party extensions) and if you didn't choose to put something on your dash then tumblr won't for the most part force it on you. so that for sure helps.

idk, i don't have the solution! because like, yes in many ways discord and twitter are suboptimal for fandom stuff but in many ways it's also down to the fact that i do obviously have pretty severe anxiety around these things and struggle with it immensely in a way that a lot of people obviously don't. which sucks but isn't their problem.

i still think we should all move to dreamwidth though. if enough of us hermits congregate there other people eventually have to follow, right? that's how we all ended up on tumblr in the first place :x

So, you'll have to forgive how LATE this reply is, it's been a mixture of busy-school-semester-quarantine-social-burnout and tumblr deleting my replies when I tried to save them to continue writing later!! But it's now 3am and my brain won't stop thinking about Queen's Thief, so it's the best time to reply, really! (But I really do appreciate you sending in this ask to let me rant about TQT!!!!! AHFKSISJ replying is just hard sometimes lol)

So because I'm terribly long winded and because spoilers!!! For a few people who follow me who haven't read it/or haven't finished reading it, the rest is under the readmore!

Where to begin. So my blog says I just read it but I realized that's a little bit of a lie now? I read the first five books for the first time at the end of Dec 2019, and the beginning of January 2020! I had seen the name of the series around before, around Tumblr bc of a few people I'm following, in regards to a Batfam fic by lurkinglurkerwholurks, ( this one: Breathing )who is ALSO a longtime TQT fan! I reread her Batfam fic after reading the Queen's Thief series and it hit SOOOOOOOOO much harder. Really brilliant. But that last straw was getting an email saying that one of my other all time fav fic writers was writing a fic for TQT. I saw that email and basically immediately downloaded The Thief on my library app 😂 (i needed to be able to read the fic!!! And I'm soooooo glad I: a) read the series before reading the fic, therefore not spoiling anything and b) was able to read the fic because holy cow does it live rent free in my brain. It's Ere by audreycritter btw)

Anyhow, I absolutely DEVOURED the books. I read one after another and then ended up rereading the first three again more slowly over the course of that spring semester. I started drawing again, listened to a good amount the Attolian Archives podcast, reblogged and MADE!! ART!! and m e m es, died when MWT REBLOGGED ONE OF MY MEMES AND SAID IT MADE HER LAUGH, recommended the series to a bunch of people and got several to at least *start* reading the series! I haven't gotten seratonin from books like this since early high school ten years ago! 🤣

Plus the fandom is SO SWEET!!!! And MWT is so engaging!!!! I love that she lets us play in her sandbox! It's like she made a fully furnished dollhouse complete with dolls but she lets us continue to decorate it and build on it and move the dolls around, and then she comes up and gives us compliments on the little things we've done!!! 🥺😭💞

Oh but the books themselves!!! They dig their spots in my heart deeper everytime I read them!!! I don't think Ive ever read a series that I enjoy more every time I reread it. I'm looking forward to rereading this last book, bc I know that the only one that I was obsessed with the first read through was QoA. All the others I liked the first time I read it, but I wasn't in LOVE with them, you know? But when I went back to read them a second time I LOVED THEM. Its like a riptide that you kick around in the shallows the first time around, and then the next time suddenly you're sucked out to sea???

It feels like the pages hold secrets that need to be teased out. The dialogue is SO FUN. It has suspense but not so much that you're stressed. It's so balanced. It has lines that make you put the book down and have to just, do a lap.around the block because they really said that. THEY REALLY SAID THAT. "Diplomacy, in my own name." SHE REALLY SAID THAT. The symbolism, the foreshadowing, I'm OBSESSED! THE CHARACTERS!!!! THE LOYALTY!!!!! What i wouldn't do to have that sort of loyalty written into some of the other fandoms that I'm in. And the TEnderNESS. The way Gen interacts with others??? The way he loves so.wholly? With his entire self??? The way that it's sorta slowburn found family before tumbling into found family all at once in a way that isn't slowburn at all?? I'm pulled in by Gens tricks every time. The storytwists surprised me but made sense. The writing was enjoyable to get lost in. I think of the way that Gen sits at Irene's feet and looks up at her with eyes full of love, how he sits like a printers apprentice in a chair but sits like a king while sick/hurt in his bed, I think about the way he pushed Relius's hair back and kissed him on the forehead, how Relius said he would still crawl back to his Queen and Gen said me too, the difference between my Queen and my King and your Majesty 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 the way Helen says that Sophos basically has Gens heart in his hands, the way that all four of them are entwined together. I think about these books and I'm filled with YEARNING

Uh, No thoughts, head empty except for squeeing about TQT. This isn't even like,,,,,, idk a quarter of it??? There's so much more but it's all so hard to put into words, a lot of it is just me yelling incoherently because I'm overwhelmed! And when I string words together it's, well. All over the place! 😂

As for the discord thing, I've seen the link around! I'm uh, Not Great(tm) at being social, and so the discord is a leeeeetle daunting, haha. But I have considered it, especially because I have an... Interesting fic idea that I wanted to drop into the pool of other TQT fans to see their reactions. It's... a little bit evil...

I'm really bad at it, which is why I typically read comics on host sites like Webtoon, Tapas, etc. (Sorry all you personal website peeps!) I make very rare exceptions, because it's just too difficult for me to keep track of all the websites and all the new pages. The only other way that I can keep track is if I'm in the Discord server for a particular comic. If personal sites had easy to find email subscription buttons or something though, I'd probably be able to keep track better.

Oh man, I use public hosting sites, Discord and Twitter, which isn't the best for stand-alone site comics. Every so often I bookmark a comic I plan on reading, but then I always totally forget about it. There are a couple comics I remember every blue moon like Sister Claire or that comic about a Mexican Catholic kid trading his soul to summon a demon, or something, but then I end up forgetting where I left off... <_<' I heard using an RSS feed is good, but I'm pretty particular about stuff being in my inbox, if I get emails for a bunch of comics I'll probably just get annoyed. Oh, yeah, that Archive Binge email idea is great or even like, what updated this week instead of just today. I also use bookmarks. And also I just have a million comics to start open in tabs. I do now have the Webtoon app so I can follow a handful of comics that don't have they're own site, but my preference is definitely for homesites. Maybe I'm just an old lady in that respect TuT I also usually read in little binges, but I also follow creators on Twitter/Instagram so I can see when those page updates post. I'll be honest, I don't really understand how RSS works X') I assume it somehow pings you when a site updates, but the mechanics of it I just don't know. But I definitely do have an RSS feed enabled on my site because I know some people use it.

RSS just works like any website where you subscribe to accounts and read a feed with the updates -- Twitter, Tumblr, blogs, whatever. Except that it isn't limited to a specific website, it's universal. You get one RSS-reading app and it can subscribe to any feed from anywhere.

Mine combines a couple different blogs, comics, podcasts, new fics posted in AO3 tags, and at least one Deviantart gallery. (Back in the day I put a couple of tumblrs on it, before I took the plunge and signed up with tumblr...)

Although for webcomics I use a combination of Archive Binge and ComicRocket. (If one of them isn't getting the updates for a specific comic, I follow it on the other one.)

I also rely on comic related discord channels or I watch for banners to show up to remind me to check out the comic series. Likewise, I want to get some sort of fun memo pad reminder to 'check up this series'. Another good source I love is Webcomic Library https://tagpacker.com/user/webcomic.library Luma did a great job categorizing them so it's easy to find titles with genres I'm interested in(edited)
