#my ârt #crush depth #crush depth spoilers #fnaf #tw blood #tw drowning #idk how many others apply #anyways this is midnight crow coming out of the shadow realm to scream at you #first of all a cs ramble is on the way I'm still recovering from that fic too #im biting you naff im biting you so dang hard #I don't even know much about iron lung besides watching a play through but damn do you make me want to know more #just. where do I even start. the atmosphere is established so well and even though there was such a small space to work with I FELT it #I felt the claustrophobia I felt the walls and the console and the single dim lightbulb as my only solace in this death trap #the THOUGHTS #poor yn had so much time to just get lost in their head and spiral pretty much constantly #the dread. the constant overhanging dread of knowing there's a 99% chance they're not getting out of there alive and at this point #they just want to accept it and let it end bc there's hardly anything to go back to if they live #naff. look at me. reading some parts made my chest actually tighten with dread. it was so well done.#this poor human just buried in existential horror and just wanting it to end in a slightly less painful way #and the unknowable beings trapped outside who absolutely REFUSE to let that happen #god those eldritch fish were trying their hardest but just couldn't get in #yn was trapped inside while they were trapped outside and I just #I am EXPLODING the more I think about it #thinking about when they thought they were drowning and tried to breathe again #wanting to die but still having that instinct to survive #asking to be ripped apart but still cherishing their last breath of air #I'm shaking you I'm shaking you I'm dying on the floor #ough.#I'll never mentally recover from this and I want you to know I genuinely get inspired by your writing #this has been midnight crow ramblings. yes yes yes blue lock anime bad and all, and they fucked up this iconic shot yes

a shot I love so much, I fucking own it and have it on my wall

BUT.

Y'all are not realizing that the purpose of this shot is to convey to the audience just how massive the stadium is, and how important this match is.

This is the first time Blue Lock has shown its face to the world, and this is the Blue Lockers stepping out into the real world, and either failing, or succeeding, in showing it that they can handle it.

The anime might not have done this shot as well, but it had plenty of build up before that, which the manga couldn't have. For example, all the build up with the merchandise outside and the cardboard cut outs of players and people buying shirts.

All the parents coming to see their kids. The build up with Sae and Rin, and Aiku. The pounding of the stadium above and the cheering, which sounds awesome.

the focus on Isagi as he stares in wonder at the lights.

the actual ambience is there.

it just didn't do it exactly like the manga... and so what?

y'all are the ones complaining that it's an anime, not a manga.

the tension and atmosphere were there!!!

#In The Roses of Pieria #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #sapphic books #oughhhhhh yeah this was pretty good!#it’s such an interesting mix of elements and I think it pulls it off pretty well. But also definitely won’t work for everyone.#I definitely was most intrigued by the fungal fey but also knew going in that that was a more minor aspect.#However seems like it’ll be much more significant as the series goes on so am interested in that #the fungi fey stuff is like. hmm mycelial hivemind vibes. which i like the idea of #It starts off very slow and atmospheric and then the danger and action creeps up all of a sudden #and I can only assume that the series will continue with the higher stakes #if you like the idea of timewar but want it to be more grounded narratively (and also from the POV of mere humans reading the letters #not just focused on them) you might like this?? but also there’s a lot of other things going on. so #I will say…plot hole? I am confused how V needed C to translate the letter to send to A #when the whole point of C’s job is that A can’t read the ancient language anymore. did i miss something there lol?#also damn we got a furry but then she immediately lost her furry abilities forever. rip.
