Uglies is actually an insane movie to make in 2024 😐
#im only 6 minutes in and im assuming its going to be like actually being me is good ! and pretty and stereotypical ! is bad!#but casting a bunch of objectively attractive people and straight up calling them ugly is crazy like the movie Just started#especially giving Outer Banks a hooked nose prosthetic that REAL PEOPLE have and saying its huge and unattractive ? huh#what the fuck are we doing#i know the books were made in 2005 but that Does Not mean you need to actually make a movie out of it#like we shouldve left that concept in the dust years ago idrc if theres a feel good moral at the end#calling people on a page ugly is one thing but when we can see and compare ourselves to them on screen? entirely different#kats movie rants
