#but being able to drop the Lore in the guise of pot shots makes him an entirely new kind of threat to Lucifer

Alastor in the Lost Son AU would be so much more malicious I think. 100% going to the hotel to stir everything up. I don't know if he would still warm up to Charlie. Kind of doubt it.
He'd certainly be more venomous when Lucifer showed up. Imagine him dropping heavenly family lore with the most disturbing expression, but also saying it with just enough plausible deniability to make Lucifer think he's fucking with him and just getting lucky with shots in the dark.
Pretty funny to think how hard it must have been to keep him alive until he was an acceptable age to be used against Lucifer though. Like, Gallows humor.
A: My family is effectively immortal and souls don't just stop being, they go somewhere else forever. = Shocking disregard for his own health and safety.
Divine Guardian(s?): No, wait-! *Nearly every day of his adult life.* Feels like they probably had to feed a "holy purpose" to him to keep Alastor from intentionally picking the most dangerous option for everything.
Shoot, canon Alastor already doesn't like to examine his humanity. This version could be 'disconnect incarnate' from the knowledge of the afterlife.
Yeah, Alastor was already a messed up little kid but the meddling of his extended family dials up the creepy child vibes to eleven. His understanding of the afterlife means he doesn't only disregard his own life, but the lives of people around him to an unsettling degree. Uriel and Gabriel are somewhat perturbed by this, Michael would be if he were around more, but Samael is all too happy with this outcome. When the Poison of God suggests that Alastor should take the punishing of sinners into his own hands, Alastor doesn't hesitate.
(By this point I think I'm fully committed to 3 evil advisors + Michael.)
Him dropping random lore he shouldn't know is something he's been doing since the day Mr. Boucher (the man from these earlier posts who I am only just now giving a name) took him in. He's worse than Husk on that front. And for Lucifer especially it's a mortifying nightmare because during an argument Alastor will just casually reply with, "I refuse to be cowed by the angel who insisted on living as a duck for a hundred years and gave up three days later after nearly getting eaten by a snapping turtle." Lucifer just goes completely gold and screams, "WHO TOLD YOU THAT!?"
Charlie does still manage to grow on him - like a rainbow fungus - but it's a bit... rockier. Knowing that she's his sister from the get go does color his opinion of her; knowing that his white-skinned sister got to grow up in safety and luxury while he was forced to play mind-games with his mother's murderer from the age of nine just to get out of the dog shed. There's a part of him that wants to despise her, but she's genuine in her desires to help others and in her gratitude towards him, and as he integrates himself into her life for his own gain he (unfortunately form him) gets her hooks in him as well. She's smart enough to not trust him fully, but she does always treat him like a genuine business partner. He doesn't realize she's endeared herself to him until those hooks are dug deep.
#ask#anonymous#Hazbin Hotel#the Devil's Bastard AU#the Devil's Lost Son AU#creepy child Alastor would casually drop some useful business information and Mr. Boucher would snap it up#he's still not strong enough physically to challenge Lucifer#and he's growing increasingly less willing to alienate Charlie#but being able to drop the Lore in the guise of pot shots makes him an entirely new kind of threat to Lucifer#he did once try to adopt an alligator and Uriel and Gabriel tripped over each other trying to get him away from the thing#while Samael just casually turned it to salt#I think Samael's become the leader of the evil advisor trio
