WAS using the sailor moon method of costume design (using varying degrees of high fashion inspiration from vague homage to hopefully legally distinct enough to not get in trouble (compliment)) because I was sorta happy with Lia’s magical girl outfit but then I designed her a slutty frenemy who’s like a grunt for the main villain (top image) (he doesn’t have a name yet but I’ve been calling him SF and. i guess you can probably figure out what that stands for based off my previous sentence. he has a day job when he’s not being a lackey for the big bad) and then i felt like she needed something a different kind of vibe for her clothes so join me. as i struggle in costume design. im having fun tho qwq

#ocs #oc art #art #watercolour #sketch #traditional art #oh man i dont post full pages of my sketchbooks very often because 1) i usually draw a lot of small unrelated things on one single page #and 2) my sketchbooks are usually to big for my scanner (the scanners like an inch and a half too small for em sjdjfnfjdsfgjdk)#so its kind of a pain to have to stitch it back together in post #but here you kind of get to see it all the bottom two images are all from the same page with very little cropped out #now you get to see my weird test corners #because i like to draw lots of little doodles all over one page theres usually a small corner where its too small to draw anything in #but because i like to watercolour i just use it to test my colours hjdskjnshdfjasdfs #theyre all over my sketchbooks lol just hundreds of corners of blobds of random water colour paint #the curtain has been pulled back...slightly #anyway look at Lia and SF #okay. okay if im not careful SF will just be called SF #that happened with every character in this god damn set of ocs #they were all named before i designed them jkdfsajbhnjdasd i just knew their roles!!!#i made up their premise and plot and then made the designs jhsfdksbfdjks #rosie was made early on cause i wanted to use some flower symbolism and at the time i wasnt sure what type of plant hed be #when i designed him later. i designed him to be a chrysanthemum. hes not even a rose #bibi....bibi comes from bb which literally stood for bland boy because....thats his role.....#incredibly normal guy who is friends with the magical girl main character. that is who he is. that is his fate. its locked in his name #lia also was a codename that just became a name but its too tied to the plot so i'll explain that later #(if i ever can get myself to make like a comic or something....pray for me...master of wanting to make narrative media but never doing it)#but yeah i gotta be careful. im gonna name SF something based off the initials SF. im gonna fucking. name him sci fi #oh god. oh god wait. oh no thats his name #no....no.....it cant be......NOOOOOOO #maybe i should accept it. maybe i should accept that my ocs always end up with the weirdest names.
