interesting how much of kido's novel backstory was retconned... this is from novel 3. bc in novel 7, while kido's dad is a piece of shit, he isnt described to partake in any of these behaviors. and also, that kido and rin were in the dungeon when they died, not the bedroom.. hmm

#of course u could also say that her mind filled in the gaps after concealing eyes buried several of her memories from her #or that she learned abt these facts about his father post-humously #but in the grand scheme of things its more probable that jin just hadnt settled on her backstory yet at this point #if this section from novel 3 + that one frame from ayanos theory of happiness is anything to go off from #its looks probable that kido was originally going to be a victim of csa #it goes in line with her ability too; the desire to not be seen #but at some point he decided to make kido a victim of emotional abuse and neglect instead #which i think is a good choice.... csa is a very heavy thing to write about #like could it fit in kgprs narrative? yes #but it would need to be done very sensitively and there would need to be a lot of time and research done to portray it #sensitively and well. jin was being overworked to the brink during kgprs production #and i think her current canon backstory is fine as is #kgprambling
