★ . ꜝꜞ 🥐 how svt sleep with you (cuddle status)
Tumblr media
seungcheol : ultimate big spoon. he holds you like a bear arms caging you all side keeping you warm and close all night. Will whine if you try escape. Warm breaths at the back of your neck, one arm pillowing your head, other a seatbelt around your waist.
Jeonghan : clingy koala. starts off acting like he doesn’t care how you sleep, but as soon as you get comfortable, he’s latching onto you like a koala. He either throws a leg over yours or tucks himself into your arms. Even if you push him away for space, he’ll just find a way to drape himself over you again.
Joshua : classic hug-cuddle. Face to face, holding you close hy tht waist, tucking your head on his warm chest. Generally the big spoon. Does corny ahh shit that gets you crazy like saying goodnight softly and kissing your forehead like just butterflies in stomach things. Always tucks you on all sides on the blanket.
Jun : LITTLE SPOON ™. needs to be babied. He's a baby. He needs to get tucked warmly his face in your cleavage warming up as you hold him close. Headpet is a must. Man will not sleep if you don't pet his head nicely and kiss him good night.
hoshi : somewhere between little spoon and big spoon. Anything that has him cuddled up. And by cuddle up I mean not a inch of skin to remain out of contact from you. Literally presses himself into you. Remember nana tour? Yeah that typa shit
Wonwoo : prefers light to no cuddle. isn’t the type to initiate cuddling, but he also doesn’t let go of you get comfortable. He prefers sleeping face-to-face, with your foreheads almost touching, or lying side by side with your hands intertwined. He doesn’t demand closeness, but if you move away, he unconsciously pulls you back.
Jihoon : prefers to sleep on his back with you on top of him. Will hold you loosely yet firmly however you turn and twist thru the night. His pecs = your pillow. On rare nights he's tired or work-frustrated he likes getting cuddled and babied, positions switched. He won't openly admit he's a cuddler but he also cannot sleep so well now if you're not cuddling him.
Seokmin : human heater LITERALLY. is warm physically and emotionally. He loves cuddling and doesn’t hesitate to pull you into his chest, arms wrapped tightly around you. He enjoys spooning, but he also likes facing you, occasionally kissing your forehead or rubbing your back. He mumbles sweet things as he drifts off and gets adorably pouty if you try to move away.
Mingyu : this one is tricky. At the beginning of the relationship he pretends tu be the big spoon and holds you like that but as time passes and you two get more familiar he leans more to little spoon size. Just a big puppy that needs to be loved and taken care of. Gets so giddy whenever you little spoon him.
Minghao : not wholly a cuddler but prefers sleeping vaguely intertwined. Hand holding in sleep or just your legs intertwined or loosely drapes arm over each other. He often falls asleep with his head resting on your shoulder or his arm draped over your waist. If you’re having trouble sleeping, he’ll whisper soothing words until you relax.
Seungkwan : he acts like he’s fine sleeping separately, but in reality, he loves being cuddled. He enjoys resting his head on your chest while you play with his hair, or he’ll hold you tight, burying his face in your neck. If he’s feeling extra vulnerable, he’ll ask you to hold him, and he will get pouty if you try to roll away. Likes his tummy getting rubbed comfortingly to sleep.
Vernon : doesn't cuddle. Mutual agreement that you don't need to cuddle to sleep comfortably or peacefully and warmly. Tucks you in bkanket and often sleeps face to face but with a breathable comfortable distance without being too far. Holds your hands at times.
Dino : Dino loves cuddling. He gets genuinely excited about sleeping next to you and will pull you close like it’s the best thing in the world. He prefers spooning but is also happy with you lying on top of him. He giggles if you try to tickle him and sometimes whispers goofy things in your ear before dozing off.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Jimin you can't just leave now," Yoongi said, "This is serious."
Hoseok scoffed, "Yeah, you can't just tell us 'Seoyeon's back' without a little elaboration."
Grabbing his room key off the mini bar, Jimin paused. His back was turned to the group. He could hardly think, after having just screamed at Namjoon and received the most unexpected information.
His shoulders dropped from a tense height as he exhaled a deep breath. He had sent you a text immediately after getting off the call. You were awake and agreed to speak with him about it. It wasn't like you were going to be able to sleep anytime soon.
His voice was now scratchy from yelling, "I need to speak to Y/N. She’s meeting me in my room. I think she tried to tell me this earlier, multiple times. We just kept getting interrupted."
"I agree that she needs to be a part of the conversation, but so do we," Jin replied gently, "It's a delicate situation. I'm sure the company will handle it, but we should all be on the same page here. This woman almost...well we all know what she almost did."
"Then come with me if you want. I don't care," Jimin turned to face them all, his eyes firmly alert as he pointed at Namjoon, "But not you. I don't want you near her."
The blonde man was completely calm at this point, maybe even humble, "Jimin-"
"No, he held solid, “I haven’t told everyone in this room yet, but at the ultrasound we found out that her blood pressure is too high. It’s largely due to stress, and it could become a real problem if she can’t get it under control. The last thing she needs is to feel under attack.”
“I’m sorry,” Namjoon said, his tone sincere and soft, “I didn’t know that. And I’m sorry for the argument. I think it’s important for us all to know what’s going on, like Jin said. You have my word that I’ll shut up and listen. But I don’t want to affect her health and if you truly don’t want me there, I’ll respect it. I’m…I’m really sorry.”
His head dropped as if to hide in shame. The man rubbed his palm against his forehead.
No one spoke, waiting for Jimin’s response.
He pursed his lips together and closed his eyes, “Fine. Let's go."
As they all filtered out of Hoseok's room and into his, which was further down the hall, you were on your way up in your sleep shorts, another one of Jimin's t-shirts, and slippers.
You were so glad that the company didn't book you a shared room with Chaeyoung. Otherwise, this would be tough to explain.
The guys were on the top floor. They had an entire hallway booked out for them, to give them a nice cushion of privacy. You were confident no one would see you, but just in case, you wore your company staff badge on a lanyard around your neck.
You could feel the anxiety bubbling up within you, so you focused on controlling deep breaths in the elevator. When you reached their floor, no one was around. A blessing, amid the mess.
As you rounded corner after corner, you checked Jimin's text to recall his room number.
When you came upon the correct door, you knocked. It was opened instantly, as if he’d been waiting by the entry for you.
He pitied the sight of you standing there, looking worn down. Suspicion of any wrongdoing on your account was impossible. He saw it all on your face, but he wanted an explanation nonetheless.
He pulled you inside, closed the door, and brought you into his arms, “Come here, baby.”
You settled in his embrace as you peered at the group behind him. To your relief, none of them looked upset with you, not even Namjoon.
“I’m sorry,” you mumbled, “I was trying to tell you.”
His hand stroked your hair, “I know. It’s okay. Nothing is horribly wrong.”
The other members were shocked he could say such a thing. They all had cause to be very worried, but if he wasn’t going to panic, then neither would they.
When he released you, he checked your face to make sure you were calm. His lips pulled upward into a soft grin, putting aside any of his own worries for the sake of your mental state. You nodded at him, letting him know you were ready to talk about it.
Holding your hand, Jimin brought you into the suite. You exchanged subdued greetings with the others and decided to sit on the edge of the king-sized bed. Your partner sat beside you and handed you a bottle of water, in case you needed it.
“I, um, I guess I’ll just say what happened…” you cleared your throat, “At the airport yesterday, I got shoved in that swarm of fans and the woman standing behind me picked me up. It turned out to be Seoyeon. We sort of just went through TSA together and grabbed a coffee. Until Chaeyoung showed up and recognized her, I wasn’t certain it was really her. I know that you all rightfully have a negative view of her, but she was actually very kind to me. Our conversation ended when she realized that I worked for the company…and that I know you guys. It made her uncomfortable.”
“What did you guys talk about?” Jimin asked putting a soothing hand around your wrist, “I mean…did she mention anything or infer anything?”
“About you or BTS? Not specifically. She made a comment about the industry, though. She said it ‘wasn’t her scene’.”
Jungkook jeered at that, rolling his eyes, “Oh please.”
Your boyfriend scooted a little closer to you, swallowing up his pride, “I’m afraid you’ll need to be more specific. What did you talk about?”
You closed your eyes, wanting to sink into the mattress beneath you, “Babies. We talked about babies. She’s pregnant as well.”
Jimin let go of your wrist. The room went stiff.
You sighed, looking down at your lap, “She married a CEO and was on her way to LA to see him. Nothing nefarious. She wasn’t following you guys or anything. I-I think it was all just a coincidence.”
The guys were waiting for Jimin to reply first.
“No,” he looked at you with all the assurance you needed, “I’m sure it was. If she’s married and starting a family, I highly doubt that she has the time or motivation to screw with us.”
Namjoon looked like he was biting his tongue.
Taehyung leaned against the wall with arms crossed over his chest, “That is, unless she could have had any indication that you two are together now.”
You gulped and looked at your boyfriend, “No, she couldn’t have. Your name never even came up. And we didn’t discuss BTS beyond a brief mention of the airport mob. When she realized who I worked for, she left. She had no interest in digging for more information.”
He sensed your nerves and put his arm around you, “Hey, it’s okay. I believe you. Management told me they will keep an eye out for any rumors, but they weren’t very concerned either. It appears we don’t need to worry about her, so we won’t. Just wanted to hear it from you, that’s all.”
“Yeah,” Yoongi reinforced, glancing at Jimin before you, “Don’t sweat it.”
The leader of the group dipped his head, brows knitted together in a broadcast of regret.
You nodded, “Okay. Sorry to ruin your little celebration.”
“How did you know?” Jin chuckled.
“It’s no secret that you guys enjoy a some drinks after a shoot like this,” you broke into a grin, “Plus you all smell a bit like champagne.”
Most of them laughed at the comment. Jimin pecked your temple and you yawned. Now that your conscience was clear, sleepiness overtook you.
"Will you come to the dinner with us tomorrow, Y/N?" Hoseok questioned.
"Dinner?"
"Just a team dinner sort of thing. Us and all the staff that came along," Jungkook elaborated, "You should come."
You smiled, "Sounds fun, though I might need to have Chae take me shopping. This could be an excuse for me to finally go get some maternity clothes.”
“Your bump has gotten bigger.” Taehyung smirked.
The oldest member elbowed him, “Don’t say that! It’s rude.”
You laughed and put your hand on your belly, “But it’s true. I’ve grown out of almost every cute top I own. Once it gets cooler, I’m going to need new jeans as well. Ugh, just new everything.”
Hoseok broke into a tender laughter. Everyone looked confused.
Grinning curiously, Jimin asked him, "What, Hobi?"
"Sorry, it's nothing," his eyes were narrow in a glad squint, "I just can't believe you guys are really having a baby. Why does it suddenly feel so real now?"
Yours and Jimin's hearts were warmed.
"It's going to be fun," Jungkook concurred, his endearing bunny smile shining, "Chasing after a tiny version of one of us. Is it a boy or girl?"
"We aren't going to find out," your boyfriend smirked, "Care to make a wager? We each put in fifty-thousand won and then the winning side splits the pot."
Now you were in a playful mood and interjected, "It's a boy. I can feel it."
Jimin laughed and nudged you, "That's a lie. You said you didn't have a gut feeling."
You shrugged, "Well now I do."
"I still think it's a girl," he said before looking at all the members, "And my prediction is more legitimate. I felt it from the beginning."
"I say girl." Jungkook voiced.
"Girl." Jin nodded.
"Boy," Taehyung, "Gotta side with Y/N's maternal instincts."
"Nope," Hoseok chuckled, "Nothing against your instincts, Y/N, but Jimin's a girl dad."
Yoongi pondered it momentarily, "I honestly have no idea, but I'll go with boy, just to keep it interesting."
"If you must, but you're going to have to fork it over when you meet my daughter." Jimin taunted.
The father of the child placed his hand on your protruding abdomen. The gaiety on his face was raw and undeniable. He was happy - truly happy.
Namjoon took stock of this. Only then did it click. There was no way you could be like Seoyeon. She could never create that look on his face, nor could anyone else. Hana’s words replayed in his mind. She was right - you’d done nothing to indicate malevolence. That was the proof in itself.
He was disgusted with himself, so much that he couldn’t find any words to say. How could he even begin to apologize? Until this point, he had been the least supportive friend. He had gone out of his way to try to tear Jimin from a source of pure joy and love.
Wanting to be nice, you extended it to the one person you hadn't given his prediction. "Namjoon?"
Feeling apart from his own self, he stood slowly, “I’m…I’m going to go to bed. Long day, you know?”
There were no utterances of dismay. His cadence was downtrodden, not angry. This was not an act of protest - it was one of contrition.
For once, Jimin saw and believed the remorse, but he let him exit the room regardless. He found himself unable to forgive so easily. What he did was too far over the line.
After the door closed, you looked at all of them, "I think he's starting to come around, actually. Today he-"
"Don't mention that, please." Your boyfriend removed his hand from your bump and used it to sweep hair out of his face, tongue poking his cheek.
"Oh, you already know about what he said?"
"He told us," Jin sat down in his place, "Sorry about that."
"It's alright."
"It's the furthest thing from 'alright'," Jimin groaned with vexation, "The fact that he would go so far as to denigrate you like that to your face."
You put your hand on his back and rubbed it, "Well, it was awkward, but I didn't get the sense that he was purposefully trying to denigrate me. It felt like he was really just searching for answers, out of a place of care...for you."
"That’s no excuse.” he bit back.
You were plainly too tired to get into it. Your body craved rest, and you yawned once more. It forced your boyfriend back to a focus solely set on you.
“You guys should leave. We’re going to turn in.”
You flashed him a puzzled look, “Wait, no. I can’t sleep here.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Jin laughed lightly as he and the others began to head out, “Anything for your spooning time.”
Jimin chuckled, though his mood wasn’t necessarily jubilant.
You still objected, “Jimin, I really shouldn’t sleep here.”
He wore that gorgeous grin that no woman could refuse, “It’s no big deal, I promise. There are no other staff staying on this floor and you aren’t sharing a room with Chaeyoung. No one will notice.”
Jungkook tiffed, “Not to be weird, but if you were able to pull off spending that many nights at his apartment without being caught, I think you’re good.”
“Night, love birds.” Yoongi called before they all headed out the door.
As much as you didn’t want to risk getting caught, there was always a gravitational pull towards the solace that Jimin never failed to provide for you. You had a hard time saying no to his company.
In this large hotel room now with a population of two, you both took a moment to relax.
He then patted your knee twice and stood up, “You get comfortable, sweetheart. I’m going to clean up real quick.”
As he stood up, you caught the traces of lightness fade from his features. They were replaced with those of hurt, of confusion.
He walked into the bathroom and flicked the light on, closing the door behind him.
You sat there on the bed and listened to the sink run. It wasn’t lost on you that the news was jarring for him. You could only imagine how bizarre it was to have her in the loop of discussion. He’d told you before that she wasn’t someone he liked to talk about - there was a world of pain there that you didn’t know intimately.
He deserved to feel odd about all of this. It had to be okay for him to show a little disdain. He didn’t have to put on a show of strength for you all the time.
When he returned to the bedroom, there was the slightest furrow of his brows, as if he was in deep thought.
You shifted onto your knees, the fluffy white covers beneath you, hands in your lap, “Jimin, can we talk for a minute?”
“Hm?” he spun around, rubbing the back of his neck, “Oh, yeah. Sure.”
“You’re distraught. Is it Namjoon?”
“I mean, yeah, but not entirely. I’ve sort of gotten used to feeling this way about him, unfortunately.”
It was Seoyeon.
You tilted your head, eyes full of pity and concern, “I see…It’s alright for you to feel strange about all of this. I know it’s freaked you out a little.”
He sat on the other side of the bed, back facing you, “I’m not freaked out. I have all the faith that she won’t do anything stupid. It sounds funny, given the way things ended between us, but I know she wouldn’t stoop that low. Especially if she’s…you know.”
“Married and pregnant?”
He paused, revealing the true thorn in his side, “Yes…”
“Jimin, it’s normal to feel weird about an ex moving on. She broke up with you and then quickly got married and now she’s having a baby. It’s not easy to digest. And that’s okay.”
“It’s not even that,” he looked back at you over his shoulder, “It just pisses me off that she got what she wanted. She got her money, her high status. I sort of always took comfort that by ending it with me, she was cheating herself out of getting all of that. But she fucking got it in the end, and she doesn’t deserve it.”
You crawled across the bed to kneel behind him, and you began to rub his shoulders, “So she went and probably used this other guy. I agree that she doesn’t deserve it. But…if we spend time focusing on resenting her, then she gets another win. Personally, I don’t feel like handing another victory to someone who hurt the man I love.”
His shoulders dropped as he shook his head, “How is your heart this golden?”
“It’s not,” you sighed as you let go and scooted over to sit down next to him, “My heart has been tarnished. The fact that my parents won’t even speak to me has been devastating. Sometimes I feel so angry with them that I start to like the idea of never seeing them again. It’s horrible to say, but sometimes I think of our child never having a relationship with them, and I’m content. But then I realize how much power I give them when I do that.”
You began to get choked up, and it was evident by the break in your voice, “And people who would abandon their daughter don’t get to control.”
He put his hand on your knee and frowned, heartbroken for you, “Baby…”
You nodded, pulling it together, “And so, out of my resentment comes some kind of forced indifference. I just choose not to pay them mind, and I can move on. I don’t focus on what they deserve or don’t deserve. I just let the situation be, for the sake of my own peace.”
He kissed your cheek and then you let that same cheek rest on his shoulder.
“I love you,” he said, “You’re right. Letting it linger will only hurt me, not her. And you and our baby girl are far more worth the energy.”
You smiled, “You really are confident about the girl thing, huh?”
“Of course I am,” he chuckled, “I know everything.”
"Well, I know something you don't know."
Voice soft, he hummed, "Hm?"
"I felt movement today." you couldn't help but giggle the words out.
Jimin was instantly more alert. He hastily scooted further from you so he could turn to face you, eyes wide with wonderment, "You did?"
You nodded, "Just these tiny tapping sensations. The baby books are right. It feels like bubbles popping. Actually, it sort of tickled."
He threw his arms around you and laughed melodiously, which caused you to laugh harder. His joy was contagious to you. His embrace was so forceful that you fell back onto the bed together, though he was instinctively careful not to put his full weight on you.
He pulled away so he could lift his shirt from your abdomen and kiss right below your belly button. Then he cooed, "Good job, little one. Daddy's so proud of you for learning how to wiggle around in there."
You cupped your bump as you melted at his words, “Keep growing strong. We love you.”
Tumblr media
*Three days later*
It was around eight at night when you heard the door unlatch from where you were standing, at the stove. A hot meal was in progress for you both, simmering in the pot in front of you.
You smiled when you heard him let out a breath of relief to finally be home. You had gotten in a few hours earlier - yours and Chaeyoung's departing flight left before the boys'.
Jimin, still in the entryway, slipped his shoes off and grinned, shaking his head, "Are you cooking?"
"I am." you called back.
He appeared around the corner in shorts and a white t-shirt, with one of his quintessential black bucket hats on his head. Appropriate attire for this scalding September heat.
He took off his hat and let it sit on the island, "Smells amazing."
Then you felt his arms wrap around your middle. As had become a habit, his palms laid flat against your belly.
You hummed as you stirred, "Hi."
"Hi," he smirked, "How are you?"
"Hungry. How are you?"
His low chuckle sounded right by your ear, "Starving. Thanks for doing this. I was prepared to just order something."
"Isn't it nice having me around?" you teased.
Jimin's lips landed behind your ear, "It's a dream having you around, sweetheart...Is this one of your new shirts, by the way?"
It was. Prior to that dinner in LA, you had convinced Chaeyoung to go to the mall with you. You ended up returning home with far more clothing than you brought, all accommodating to your changing shape. The top you were currently wearing was a simple fitted t-shirt in a pretty mocha brown. The material was comparable to that of a yoga top, all soft and stretchy.
"Mhm." you replied.
"I love it. I got so used to seeing you in all these loose tops. Well, my tops. Now I get to see my woman get all nice and big.”
Your mouth went agape as your face turned red, “What a perverted thing to say.”
He smirked into your neck as he kissed you again, “What you deem as perverse is actually just a common thought for any man. And don’t pretend you don’t like it.”
Then he gave your ass a playful slap and went to get himself a glass of water.
While he was at the fridge, you continued to stir, “When will you guys get to see the final cut of the music video?”
“Eh,” he said as he put his glass under the water dispenser, causing it to run, “Usually takes weeks, if not months. But this one doesn’t use as many CGI effects, so it might be faster.”
“What would you guys need CGI for? That theatre was stunning.”
“Yeah,” he grinned, “I loved it. That was probably my favorite choreography we’ve ever done. And my favorite wardrobe.”
The uptick in his inflection made you break into a laugh, “You flatter me.”
“I mean it,” he gulped down some of the cold water, “It was extremely detailed and everything matched the feel of the song. Tell me, whose idea was it to put me and Jungkook in corsets?”
Again, you threw your head back and laughed, “That was Chae. But it was my idea to put you in the white suit.”
Jimin drew closer and leaned over the counter next to you, head propped up by his elbow as he watched you cook, “That was a brilliant choice, baby.”
Looking into the pot, you grinned with a feigned arrogance, “I’m aware. Here, taste this.”
You spooned up a sampling of the sauce and fed it to him. He smacked his lips together a couple times as he absorbed the flavor.
“Need anything?”
“Pinch more of salt.”
You nodded and took the salt shaker from the countertop on your right. You flipped it over and twisted to grind some of its contents into the pot. After giving it another stir, Jimin dipped his finger into the sauce and put it in his mouth.
“Mm,” he affirmed, “Perfect.”
The two of you ate together at the kitchen island. He got himself a bottle of soju from the fridge to take with dinner. When your plates were clean, he took the prerogative to do all the dishes.
“I’ll help you.” you said once he grabbed your plate.
“I’ve got it,” he replied assuredly, “Go shower or get in your pajamas or something.”
With that, he kissed your forehead and went to the sink, slinging one of the drying towels over his shoulder. To you, a warm shower sounded amazing.
You rose from the chair and paused, feeling a little lightheaded. It only lasted a couple of seconds, insignificant. Then you proceeded like normal out of the kitchen and into the bathroom for your rinse.
The water patting on your skin was a massage. You closed your eyes and simply let the droplets hit you for a few minutes, your head falling back. Breaths entered and then left your lungs slowly. It was all supposed to relax you, but instead your mind began to race. Your brain had time to spin, and the weight of it all pressed on your conscience.
You didn’t know when you’d speak to your parents again, or if.
You’d just come back from a successful weekend doing a job you truly loved, and your days working for the company were numbered.
The ex-girlfriend had reappeared.
Your pregnancy and relationship were causing a fracture in one of your boyfriend’s deepest friendships.
The most beautiful part of your life, your love with Jimin, was a like a glittering treasure kept hidden from the world, unable to blossom freely.
You were going to be a mother. A mother. A new person would be entering the world entirely dependent on you for survival and guidance. Ironically, this troubled you less than any of the other things.
You drew in a sharp, hitched breath, held it for a second, and blew it out.
Tumblr media
*The next day*
“I just wanted to congratulate you on a successful trip. The producers applauded you and Chaeyoung with your punctuality and attention to detail.”
You were meeting with Sanghee, recapping the shoot.
“Thank you,” you nodded your head with a smile, “I’m so grateful you asked me to go.”
She was warmhearted, “Of course. You are one of the strongest on this team, Y/N. You’ve shown great promise in the time you’ve been here. It was about time you went on one of those trips. I’m sure there will be plenty more in your future. Plus, I wanted you to get a taste of what tour will be like.”
Your eyes got wider, as you hadn’t thought about that in a while, “Oh, right.”
She laughed, swiveling from side to side in her chair, “I know it feels like a long way off, but things move fast around here, as you’ve seen. While I’m at it, I wanted to plant the seed for you to begin thinking about how you’d like to allocate your time on the tour.”
You tilted your head to the side, “Sorry, I’m not sure what you mean?”
“Well, I know it would be extremely tough for you, being a new mom and all. You’d never be expected to be there for the first leg if you didn’t want to. I assumed you’d want to do short stints. But then again, I don’t know what your childcare plan looks like.”
“R-Right,” you sighed, “I will start thinking about all of that. Honestly, there’s a lot I need to work out still.”
Your boss laughed, “Yes, I can imagine. But please know we will be as flexible as we can. You’re valued here and we’d love for you to be there wherever you can make it work.”
It gave you some juice, to hear how wanted you were. A confidence booster was so needed at the moment.
“Thank you, Sanghee. That really means a lot to me.”
“Absolutely,” she crossed one leg over, before taking a sip of coffee from the self-heating mug on her desk, “So enough about work. How are you feeling?”
“I’m doing well,” your sigh was content this time as your hand glided over your new satin maternity blouse, “Started feeling little kicks. My blood pressure had been running a bit high, but other than that it’s good. I’m getting really excited to meet him or her.”
“Ah, my blood pressure was high too, when I was pregnant with my second. I was put on this one medication, I forget the name of it. But it saved me from going on bed rest.”
Your posture sank slightly, “My doctor warned me about bed rest, so I’m glad to hear there’s a medication for it that’s safe for pregnancy.”
Sanghee showed you a sympathetic grin, “Just keep drinking water and eat lots of yogurt. Avocados too, if you like them. They lower blood pressure.”
“I’ll give them a try.” you smirked.
“Good. Speaking of food, I’m heading out for lunch. There’s a new grill down the street that I’ve been dying to try. Care to join?”
Her praise and friendliness felt so good. You couldn’t help but want to please her by agreeing to tag along.
“Sure!”
Your boss stood from her chair and grabbed her large burgundy alligator skin purse, “Perfect. I know it’s hot out there, but are you okay to walk? I’m trying to get my steps in.”
You rose from your chair as well, “Yeah, that’s no…n-no problem…”
Your speech slowed as another wave of dizziness occupied your body. You blinked rapidly, trying to get a handle. There was a troubling lightness in your head. Your chest felt fuzzy.
“Y/N?” Sanghee walked around her desk and held your forearm.
You had a ten-mile stare. Your chest was rising and falling with depth as you wobbled. As your lids began to hang low, she took the initiative and forced you to sit back down in the chair.
Once sitting again, your wits returned. Embarrassed, you shook your head, “Sorry. I’m alright. Just kind of woozy. It’s been happening lately, mostly when I stand up.”
“Kind of woozy?” Sanghee laughed nervously, “You almost just passed out. Why don’t you head home for the rest of the day? Get some rest.”
“Oh, no I’m fine. I stood up too fast.”
“You just told me your blood pressure has been elevated. Now I’m not going to let one of my stylists pass out on my watch. Besides, there’s nothing super important going on today.”
You denied once more, “No really, I’m okay. Thank you, though.”
Sanghee put her warm hands on your shoulders and gave you a stern smile, “I know you’re okay. I just want you to be cautious. You’re probably running on fumes from traveling. Go home, crawl into bed, and get a long nap in. I will find Chaeyoung and have her fill in for you with any small tasks.”
Begrudgingly, you agreed. You got to your feet much slower this time and took it easy as you thanked her and headed back into your office to get your things.
You closed the door behind you and proceeded to put your laptop in your bag, pulling out your phone as you did so.
It wasn’t something you wanted to do, but he would want to be kept informed. You texted Jimin to call you when he got the chance. It would have been your first choice to call him, but you didn’t know what he was up to at the moment and wouldn’t want to disturb.
You flicked off the lights and headed home.

Chaeyoung was on her way to the upper floors of the building. She was trying to locate one of the Managers to turn in her expense report for the trip to LA for reimbursement. Sanghee caught her hopping in the elevator and informed her of your early departure from the office.
As a friend, she worried for you. And that worry remained written on her face when she reached the floor she needed. She pitied you for having to balance so much.
A lack of attention was paid to her direction. When rounding a corner, she bumped into Namjoon. It was a rare occurrence. His studio was nearby, but hardly anyone saw the man when he worked in there. He would come to work and lock in for hours, sometimes even the whole day.
“Oh I’m so sorry!” she squeezed her eyes shut, mortified.
Having known her for a while, Namjoon thought it appropriate to pat her on the shoulder with a lighthearted chuckle, “No problem. You okay?”
“I’m fine,” she huffed, “Only a little concerned for Y/N. Sanghee just sent her home. Apparently she almost fainted.”
His disquiet was genuine. With furrowed brows and a tilted head, he pressed for more information, “Oh shit. Just now?”
“Yeah,” your colleague sighed, clutching the expense report to her chest, “I hope she’s alright. I do worry about her sometimes.”
Namjoon nodded with a hum, “No one wants her to get hurt. I’m sure she’ll rest up and be fine, though. Good to see you, Chae.”
He barely heard her reply when he walked away somewhat briskly. It didn’t matter what had been going on behind the scenes - he just had to let him know.
He’d be in the gym right about now, getting some quick strength training in. Probably with Jungkook at his side.
He hustled down the stairwell because he knew he’d run into less people that way. When he finally reached the gym, his prediction proved true. Joking around while getting some reps in were Jimin and Jungkook.
The two caught him out of the corners of their eyes when they noticed him hurrying over. He wasn’t dressed in workout attire either, so they figured he wasn’t here to join them. Not that Jimin wanted him to.
Namjoon was a bit breathless.
“Hey,” Jungkook nodded his head upward, “Distraught?”
“I don’t know,” he looked at Jimin, “Maybe. I just bumped into Chaeyoung.”
In your boyfriend’s mind, her name was linked with yours. This had something to do with you - the pit in his gut told him as much.
His face softened, shoulders slumped. His voice carried a desperation, “Don’t drag it out, please. Just tell me.”
“Everything’s fine, I think,” Namjoon said more quietly, “But Y/N’s been sent home. Chae said she almost passed out in the office. I don’t know…I remembered the blood pressure thing and thought you’d want to know.”
Jimin went into action mode.
All reservations towards him were put aside. They had to be. Jimin didn’t enjoy it, but he uttered the words, “Thanks for letting me know. I have to go check on her.”
Hastily, he picked his phone up from the black padded bench.
“Shit,” he sighed, “She asked me to call her. I’ll let you guys know if I’ll be back, but I’m not sure.”
“Hope she’s alright.” Jungkook said.
Namjoon concurred, “Do what you have to do.”
Jimin and Namjoon made eye contact before he began to jog out of the gym. He retrieved his keys from his pocket as he hurried out of the building and into the private covered garage. His footsteps echoed in the spacious concrete structure as he came upon his vehicle.
While climbing into the driver’s seat, he called you.
The ignition started as he waited over the course of several rings to hear your voice.
“Hey,” you greeted him, “Slight mishap.”
It was a relief that you sounded fairly normal through the phone. Even still, your partner needed to hear the story from you.
“I know,” he said, his phone connecting to his car so he could speak with you as he drove, “Namjoon told me. And Chaeyoung told him.”
“So Sanghee told Chae,” you sighed, “I’m sorry. I didn’t actually faint, though. I just sort of…came close.”
He drove out of the garage and turned onto the street, “I’m making my way home. You there?”
“Y-Yes but Jimin please don’t leave work. It’s really nothing.”
“I’ll see you in a little bit.”
Before long, he came home to you. He found you in the living room, laying on the couch with a tall glass of water on the coffee table. You had changed from your work clothes to loungewear, embracing getting comfortable in the middle of the day.
You were in a position for sleep, but your eyes were sullen and awake. Jimin closed the door and you cringed, feeling like an utter inconvenience.
His voice sounded like he was in a hurry as he strided into the living room, “Hey. Hey baby.”
He sat on the edge of the sofa, “Are you okay? Tell me what happened.”
You broke into a sad smile as you propped yourself up into more of a sitting posture, “I was trying to explain that I’m fine. I’m perfectly fine, Jimin. You really didn’t need to fly all the way home.”
“Of course I did,” he batted that ludicrous statement away, “Top priority.”
His hand reached over to cup your left cheek and you looked down, taking hold of his wrist, “I appreciate it, but all that happened was that I stood up too quickly and got dizzy. That’s all.”
He chuckled to keep the mood up, but he found this anything but funny, “I’m glad you were sent home. A brief dizzy spell is okay and probably normal, but in your case it’s a bigger deal, baby. You don’t want me to be concerned, but you know I’m right. We need to watch this closely, hm?”
You brought your eyes back to his and nodded wordlessly.
Jimin gave you a half grin, “And knowing you, I’d be willing to bet that this isn’t the first dizzy spell you’ve had recently.”
Subconsciously, your lips pursed together. It was as though you were tucking them in so they wouldn’t spill the truth.
It was the all the response he needed.
He scooted closer to you and sighed, removing his warm, veiny hand from your face and placing it on your blooming tummy, “You’re not hard to figure out. What other instances have there been?”
You closed your eyes as you admitted, “Yesterday after dinner. Same thing, I stood up and it just hit me.”
His eyes were anxious, maybe even slightly hurt, “I need to know about these things, Y/N. It’s my job to make sure you’re both safe and healthy, but I can’t do that if you don’t let me know. This…It worries me. And it equally disturbs me that you aren’t telling me about it.”
You let it out, “I know. I-I’m sorry. God, I hate it when you’re right.”
Jimin’s low chuckle rang out as he leaned forward, kissing your lips softly. Then he withdrew a few inches from your face.
“Oh my love...” his voice trailed off, “I thought you knew that you’re my life. That I will always, always put you first.”
Your tone was meek, “I do.”
He kissed the tip of your nose, “You don’t, if you think you’re burdening me.”
You felt totally deflated. He knew your soul, your entire being. There was no concealing anything from this man.
Half of you wanted to call him a jerk for stripping you bare of any excuses, while the other half wanted to melt into his arms for being such a blessing in your life.
Your eyes came to glisten with fresh tears, but not enough for any to fall. Your lips twitched into a smile, “A burden? Me? Never.”
Another laugh broke from Jimin as he returned to an upright posture , “That’s right, sweetheart. Can I get you anything? Did you eat lunch?”
“Not yet,” you replied, “I was hoping to nap before I ate, but I’m kind of hungry now.”
“I’ll make you something. You just relax.”
He got up and proceeded off into the kitchen. You heard him opening and closing the cupboards, looking for a culmination of ingredients, humming a tune as he went about it,
“Avocado toast and some berries?” He called back to you, “Or do you need something bigger?”
“That should be good,” you approved, “Oh, and could you mash the lumps out of the avocado? Lately I can’t stand the chunky texture. And maybe a little more lime juice? Oh, and some onion? And salt?”
Jimin smirked as he sliced the green fruit open, then grabbing a spoon to take out the pit, “So I’m making guacamole and putting it on bread. Got it.”
You laughed in return, “If you don’t mind.”
You spent the next several minutes searching for something to watch on Netflix. When your doting boyfriend came back with a plate to set down on the coffee table, you sat up more to make room for him.
“Thank you so much.”
“I’m glad to make my girlfriend and baby some nutritious food.”
You didn’t hesitate to bite into the toast smeared with a creamy green spread, “Actually, Sanghee told me she had high blood pressure when she was pregnant. She said avocados help lower it.”
“Even better.” he pushed your hair behind your ear so he could see your satiated expression.
You hummed with contentment as you swallowed, “And she also said there’s a medication for it. Doctor Yoon didn’t mention that to us.”
Jimin sat back and stretched his arms high, preparing to fully settle in with you, “That’s good. Maybe we’ll give her a call then, ask about it. At the very least, your OBGYN should know about these spells.”
“I will later.”
“Promise?”
You rolled your eyes in a genial manner, “I prom- Oh!”
The hand that wasn’t holding your toast flew to your belly. With a mouthful of food, you had to try to keep it all in, “Hi, little baby.”
Jimin beamed, scrambling to sit back up, “Is she kicking??”
You giggled and nodded as you caught the slip of the tongue. He really did seem to know in his heart that this precious new life was a daughter.
“Where? I want to feel.”
“Here,” you guided his hand to the spot where you could feel the flutters on the inside, “But you won’t feel it from the outside. I couldn’t.”
He pouted briefly before kissing the spot, “That’s okay. You just keep getting stronger in there, then Daddy can feel you cause a ruckus.”
With a giggle, you popped a few berries into your mouth, “I’m sure it will happen soon enough.”
Jimin reached across your lap to pick a blueberry off your plate. He put it on his thumb and flicked it up, craning his head back to catch it in his mouth before leaning back to his original spot.
His focus turned to the TV screen, “So what are we watching?”
You gave him your confused gaze, “Um, don’t you need to go back to work?”
“I can miss one dance practice,” he assured you, “And it’s been a while since I’ve had a day off. Don’t you want to sit here all day and be unproductive with me?”
You laughed, “I suppose I do. Though we could actually do something we’ve been meaning to do and start talking about what we want to name this munchkin.”
He mulled it over for a moment, unable to prevent his tight, half smirk from forming, “Hm…we could…Alright, why not? Do you have a girl or boy name you’ve always loved?”
As you finished your toast, you shrugged, “I have plenty of names I like, but for some reason none of them feel good enough now. Here, let’s look at the book Chaeyoung gave me. It should be on the side table next to you.”
“Ah,” he murmured as he stretched his arm behind him, “Got it. Okay, let’s see…Are we doing boy names or girl names first?”

*3 weeks later*
It took what seemed like forever to get everyone's schedules to align, but the group was finally getting together with all of the girlfriends. Originally, the plan was to go to Jin's place, but the guys were itching to see what your apartment looked like after the move.
You were in the middle of doing your makeup at your vanity, sitting on a comfy cream-colored pouf. Your guests would be arriving in a little over an hour, so time was of the essence.
Jimin entered the bedroom after prepping everything for dinner, taking off his shirt so he could shower fast.
“Everything’s chopped up and ready to go,” he said, “Kimchi is in the fridge too.”
“Got it, thank you.” you replied as you finished swiping mascara on your lashes, twisting the cap back on the tube.
He came over to peck you on the top of your head without a second thought, making you smile. When he turned around, he stripped the rest of his clothes. You watched his reflection in your vanity. The lighting in the room was perfect to show the contours of his body, all the parts where his frame would curve and then cave with muscle tone.
His natural dark hair was back, and it was getting long. It swept along the back of his neck, right above the crescent part of his moon phases tattoo.
He had gradually gotten leaner from all the stress. Nothing too concerning, since he was still eating and exercising a healthy amount, but it was noticeable to you. His jawline became sharper, and that was always a key tell when he was losing weight.
“I’m glad we’re doing this.” you said.
Surprising yourself, you weren't the slightest bit nervous. It was long overdue, and you could finally speak to women who were going through the same thing as you - dating a member of BTS in secret.
He glanced back at you, “So am I. I want you to be close to them. They're family."
"I completely agree..." you saw the perfect opportunity to bring up a still ongoing topic, "Which makes me wonder, where are you with Namjoon lately? I haven't seen him since the hotel in LA."
Jimin put his dirty clothes in the hamper and mumbled, "It's better."
"That's it? Just 'better'?"
He let out an irritated sigh, "Yeah. We haven't clashed in any way. And he's...actually sort of, well, been kind recently."
You smirked, "Those words taste like vinegar coming out of your mouth or something?"
He disappeared into the bathroom, "Yes, they do."
You closed your eyes and let out a breath, calling after him, "Sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset. But I'm relieved that you're starting to see what I meant that night when he left the hotel room. He was only ever trying to be a good friend to you, Jimin. And I think he's realizing that he was wrong. You should make amends."
You heard a tiff from him, “I’m not quite ready for that. Even though our relationship hasn’t been as rocky, he never formally apologized.”
“Must he come on bended knee to be forgiven?”
The shower turned on, making it more difficult to hear him, but what you thought you heard was, “Yeah. He does. He came after you and tried to label you a terrible person. He insulted me too, telling me that I think with my dick. He went out of his way time and time again to separate us by trying to make me question my love for you. It’s not something I’m just going to write off. He needs to apologize for all of it.”
“And would you forgive him if he did?”
There was no response - only water droplets pattering on the shower floor.
“…Jimin?” your tone was hesitant now.
He huffed, “Yeah?”
“Remember when we were talking about all the bitterness aimed at Seoyeon? How it would only hurt you to let your anger linger?”
You heard an ironic chuckle echo from the bathroom, “Are you going to tell me to forgive her too?”
“No,” you said, “I am asking you to forgive your brother. Don’t let this grudge last. It will only cause you pain in the end. And besides, unlike Seoyeon, Namjoon is a good person at his core. You know that. And deep down, I think you know he only wanted to protect you. You just said it yourself - you're family."
Once more, you didn't get a response. This time, you decided to drop it. There were things to be done to finish preparing for dinner.
About an hour later, Yoongi and Taehyung were the first to arrive. Jimin, in fresh clothes and a seemingly improved mood, let them in as you set the table for a party of eleven.
From the other room, you heard them enter and gasp.
"Damn," Taehyung laughed boisterously, "Color? In Jimin's apartment? This is insane."
"Yeah, for once it doesn't feel all cold and empty." Yoongi remarked with his famous monotone, "Guess you need to keep Y/N around."
You smiled with pride as you arranged the bowls and plates. The guys rounded the corner into the dining room and you greeted them warmly, “Hey guys!”
“Good to see you,” Taehyung smiled, “We love how you brightened up the place.”
You chuckled, “I was eavesdropping. Thanks.”
Jimin put his hands up in puzzlement, “Apparently I lived in a dungeon before you moved in.”
“Can we do anything to help?” asked Yoongi.
"No, but thank you," you said, "Go get comfortable. Have a drink, chat. I'm going to start cooking in a bit."
Your boyfriend put his arm around your waist and pointed to the bar area, at the other end of the dining room, "There's wine, whiskey, soju, beer, take whatever you want."
The two made their way over to the bar to fix themselves a drink. You looked at Jimin with confused eyes and leaned to the side to whisper to him, "Shouldn't you pour their drinks? You're hosting."
"They don't require the etiquette." he smirked down at you.
Then his hand traveled down to your ass. He squeezed it gently, making your posture straighten.
"But I required a moment to tell you how gorgeous you look," his raspy mutter filled your eardrums, "I really can't get enough of these new clothes, showing off my baby so well."
The man had balls, daring to flirt with you when you had so much else to do. You knew that snake-like, charming tone like no other. Well, if he wanted to toy with you tonight, then you'd play along.
You cocked a brow, "So complimentary, and you haven't even seen the full collection."
He hummed in your ear, "What else did you buy? Something just for me, sweetheart?"
Your cheeks flushed and you didn't want him to see it, so you removed yourself from him and strolled into the kitchen with nonchalance, "Bold of you to assume such a thing."
Jimin bit the inside of his cheek as he watched you leave his side. He loved how you could simply decide to throw his game right back in his face. This was the type of fun the two of you always had, from the very beginning. The push and pull, with a solid foundation underneath it.
Soon, everyone else trickled in. You were introduced to Hana, Yunhee, and Aejun. They were Namjoon’s, Hoseok’s, and Jin’s girlfriends respectively. You’d seen them around a few times, but weren’t supposed to know who they were, so you were never introduced.
All three were as kind as could be. Within moments of their arrival, they were helping you in the kitchen, giving the members their “guy time”.
Yunhee, lanky with hair dyed a strawberry blonde, was stirring the rice for you, “So tell us how it’s been, Y/N. I mean, we’ve all heard about you for a while now.”
You laughed it off - it was a question that warranted a thousand answers.
"Oh, I'm okay. A lot of it has been hard, but as far as we know we have a healthy baby on the way and we're excited."
"You look adorable!" gushed Aejun, a short, slightly curvier woman with these large, doe-like eyes, "How many weeks?"
"Almost twenty-four," you said while filling up a water pitcher for the table, "It's flying by, even though we've had some difficulty. Bumps in the road."
Hana's voice was gentler and compassionate. Her cadence reflected that of her boyfriend, "Look, we can all be friends. And we're all women here. You can be honest."
You smiled somewhat bashfully, and then it faded, "Alright, it's been more than bumps in the road. I've been so stressed lately that it's manifested into high blood pressure. I had to get on medication for it, which has been helping with the light-headed spells, but not the stress and I still...I just wish this could all feel more normal."
Yunhee gave you a sullen, sympathetic look, "We know exactly what you mean. It sucks, having to love someone and hide it all the time. It's a price all four of us pay to be with them."
Hana gave her some glasses to take over and put at each place setting. She left the kitchen momentarily.
The three women knew about the things you weren't sharing. They heard it from their boyfriends, who heard it from Jimin at one point or another. It was a mutual decision not to press you, especially during their first real encounter with you.
Aejun smirked, "Hey, we each get our return on investment, don't we?"
Hana's reaction of hitting her shoulder with a giggle confirmed that it was intended as a dirty joke. You laughed too.
Yunhee returned from the dining room, "Anything else I can take. Y/N?"
"No, you're good. Thanks so much for helping, guys."
"Of course!" Hana batted your praise away.
Yunhee added, "Also, before I forget, you should join us for our little dinner date. Once a week, we all grab dinner somewhere in the city just to hang out, let off steam."
"Oh yes, you should definitely come along," Aejun nodded, "It's been great for us to be around people who understand, you know? You're in this little circle now, so it's essentially mandatory."
Her humor was dry, like Jin's.
You giggled, "I'd love to."
In the other room, the guys could hear your muffled laughter. Jimin kept glancing back in the direction of the kitchen with a grin, relieved that you seemed to be hitting it off. To hear your beautiful giggle ring out with other women was like a gift to him. Perhaps new friendships could help ease this entire situation for you.
“Guess they’re best friends now.” Hoseok chuckled before nursing from the rocks glass in his hand.
“That’s no bad thing,” your boyfriend sighed happily, letting his head rest fully on the back of the couch, “This has been a missing piece for Y/N since we got together.”
“Imagine ten years into the future,” Jim said, “We all have wives and kids running around, and we do things like this where we get together. The women cook the dinner and we do the dishes after, while our kids play hide and seek or something.”
“Jesus, Jin,” Yoongi looked somewhat terrified, “Getting ahead of ourselves there, aren’t we? Half of us aren’t even seeing anyone.”
“What? I like the sentiment.” he defended the picture.”
Jimin’s soft grin appeared as he envisioned the same thing, moving his hand in a small circle to swirl the drink in his glass, “No, I like it too.”
Taehyung was sitting next to him and gave him a nudge, glancing to the side to make sure none of the ladies heard him. He lowered his volume, “And speaking of wives, do we hear wedding bells for you and Y/N anytime soon?”
He wasn’t expecting to be asked that question, but it was a natural one to ask. Not that he was bothered by it.
With a cheeky grin, Jimin clinked their glasses together.
Tumblr media
He closed the door behind them on their way out. When it was just the two of you again, you both looked at one another and laughed a little.
You put your hands on your cheeks, “Oh my gosh, my face aches from smiling so much.”
“Mine too,” he said, “Sorry about the drinking at the end. I hope you didn’t feel left out.”
You started back into the living room, “Not at all. I think you guys are hilarious when you drink.”
He followed you, “We will have to do that again. I think you’ll have Jungkook crawling back for your bulgogi alone.”
You smirked, bending over the coffee table to pick up stray glasses, “I will cook for them anytime.”
“Must we do more dishes?” Jimin pouted.
You could decipher by his inflection that he was feeling a little buzzed.
“Yes,” you laughed, handing him a few, “Otherwise we will have to do them in the morning, and I hate doing that.”
You each had four glasses to carry into the kitchen. You put them all next to the sink and began to hand wash them. They could have been put in the dishwasher, but you were more particular with glassware. You liked to make sure they came out looking perfectly clean and shiny.
At this stage in gestation, you were unable to lean over the sink like you used to. Your belly met the edge of the counter, so you needed to perform the task with your arms stretched further.
Jimin rested his chin on your shoulder, “You don’t look comfortable doing that.”
“Then you take my place.” you laughed, turning your head his way.
He kissed your cheek, “I’d rather not.”
Then his lips found the sensitive bit of skin, where the corner of your jaw met your neck. You felt an eager pit form in your stomach and tilted your head slightly, giving him just a tiny bit more access.
“And what would you rather do?”
“I’d rather see the rest of the collection.”
You giggled, “You’re still hung up on that from earlier?”
“Mhm.”
“You’re assuming it’s lingerie?”
“I’m not assuming,” his voice was like honey, “I know it is. Let me see what you picked out for me, baby. Dishes can wait.”
He brought his pelvis further into you, so you could feel him stiffening. He kept kissing your neck, his hands wrapping around your growing middle.
“You wanna know what I read the other day?” he asked with a rasp, “A great way to reduce stress is to orgasm.”
You finally set the glass down at the bottom of the sink, “You’re really trying everything to get into my pants, aren’t you?”
He chuckled in the manner he knew would do you in, “Keep acting like you aren’t desperate to take a load of my cum. Like you don’t want me to make you squirm.”
You pushed the envelope even further, your body heating up, “You’re just tipsy and horny.”
Jimin took control of your hips, moving them side to side against his bulging crotch, “I’m offering you a reward, sweetheart.”
“A reward?”
“For being the perfect hostess tonight. For making me a baby. For being the love of my life.”
The love of his life.
He’d never called you that before. Maybe he was just under the influence, but it had you overflowing with love and desire.
“Well then,” you turned around with a smile, wrapping your arms around his neck, “I guess I should go get changed.”
He laughed, “I knew it was lingerie.”
“Yeah, yeah,” you kissed him deeply, “You got me all figured out.”
He ended up sitting on the bed, waiting for you to appear from the bathroom in whatever racy little thing you had prepared.
The door opened slowly, revealing you in a cherry red babydoll. The whole thing was lace with a matching thong underneath. The fabric split like a curtain around your belly.
Jimin looked like he wanted to devour you, eyes dark with ardor, pupils blown out.
Your voice was soft and sultry, “Do you like it?”
“Come sit,” he leaned back, “Let me see you up close.”
You padded over to him and lifted one leg after the other, straddling him. Your bump grazed against his torso. Jimin let out a hum that sounded more like a growl as he caressed your thighs.
"Look at that," he whispered, playing with the delicate lace between his fingers as he kissed your breasts, "All dressed up for me. All mine,"
He was bulging, but not fully hard yet. You reinforced yourself by putting your hands on his knees, slowly gliding your hips forward, back, and forward again. You wanted to make him weak.
"Yeah baby," Jimin cupped your ass and squeezed, "Get my cock nice and hard."
You released a soft moan, the friction exciting your bud. The sound of your pleasure accomplished your goal.
“You get to choose how you get fucked tonight.” he smirked, tucking a piece of your hair behind your ear so he could press his lips to yours.
You giggled into the kiss, “Is that my reward?”
“One of them,” he said, “You get three.”
“What are the other two?”
“Getting to cum, and receiving mine.”
You moaned into another passionate kiss before whispering exactly what you wanted.
It wasn’t what he was expecting to hear, but it delighted him nonetheless. Before going any further, his eyes softened, taking him out of the blinding lust for a moment, “Are you sure that won’t be too much for you?”
You resumed grinding your hips back and forth against his member, “I couldn’t be more sure…Daddy.”
And he was back, eyes filled with fervor. He spanked you, played with your ass cheeks in his hands, “You want to ride Daddy’s cock, baby? Show Daddy what you can do.”
You smirked as you got off his lap for a moment, giving him time to remove his bottoms. He scooted over to the head of the bed, laying flat on his back. He may have had the dominant nickname, but you were going to make him desperate one way or another.
You crawled back onto the bed seductively, “Should I get naked too, Daddy?”
“No, let me marvel at you in this for a while longer,” he said, cock straight in the air with precum leaking from the reddened tip, “I fucking love how it shows off your belly.”
His pregnancy kink was going to be the death of him. You chose to exploit that.
“Yeah, Daddy?” you swung your leg back over his frame, sitting on his cock but not granting him access just yet, “How does it look this way?”
He let out an exasperated, charged breath, hands on either side of your bump, “You look divine, sweetheart. So beautiful for me, making my child.”
You moved your hips on him again, letting him feel the magnitude of your wetness. It swayed the power back to him.
“Look at you, dripping all over Daddy’s cock.”
You pushed the g-string to the side. In one go, you lifted your hips, positioned him, and sat fully back down. He filled you to the hilt, both of you letting out moans.
You began to bounce up and down the shaft, setting a steady rhythm. Even better, your clit rubbed against his base each time you went down, delivering the perfect amount of pressure.
He looked like a dream beneath you, chin tilted up towards the ceiling with his plump lips parted, releasing low grunts. His brows were scrunched down as he searched to find the resolve not to ram up into you. His veiny hands were gripping your ass so hard you thought you might bruise.
Jimin’s siren eyes bore the sight of you from an angle so deliciously erotic - the woman he loved, round with his child, riding his cock. Your breasts bobbing up and down.
“Shit,” he groaned, “So fucking hot, baby. Tell me how it feels.”
“S-So good, Daddy,” you mewled, “I wanna go faster.”
“You can go faster, sweetheart,” he gave your ass a slap, “Make yourself feel good. Show Daddy how hard you can cum.”
As you picked up your pace, Jimin devoted his fingers to the service of your femininity, rubbing you.
You whined and put one hand on his chest. Knowing he’d go crazy for it, you dug your nails in and scratched down his sternum. He threw his head back and inhaled a hiss.
“Ah, fuck!”
You wore a smirk amid the building pleasure, “Sorry, did that hurt?”
“Play nice, baby. Or I’ll bend you over and fuck your brains ou- Shit!”
Your pace sped up even more, your cunt enveloping him repeatedly. His tip was kissing your cervix.
“What were you saying, Daddy?” you panted.
Jimin gritted his teeth, “You’re fucking enjoying this, aren’t you?”
“Mhm,” you mewled, “I’m enjoying my reward.”
He unleashed a frustrated groan, “Good, because it’s the last time I’m giving you one.”
You half laughed, half moaned. He hadn’t stopped rubbing your clit, delivering wave after wave, coating his dick in more of your arousal. The sound produced was lewd.
“Jimin…”
He knew you were getting close, “Come on, baby. Let me see you make a mess all over my cock.”
“N-No,” you whimpered, “I don’t want to cum yet.”
He smirked, and removed his hand from your clit, “As you wish.”
Without warning, he grabbed your wrists and pulled you forward, freeing his hips to thrust up into you. He bucked up into your confines with a battering speed.
You lost any trace of superiority. All dominance fell to him in an instant. Now you were in purgatory, feeling a euphoric sensation without that bundle in your stomach.
“My turn, baby," he taunted, "Just stay still like a good girl and take it. Fuck. Such a tight little cunt. Makes me wanna fill you with more of my babies."
The thought had you moaning in a way that made you grateful the walls were completely soundproof. He was rutting into you from below, his trained, flexible dancer hips being put to good use. With every thrust, your body was shuffled forward, your lace-covered breasts dangling over his face.
"You're such a perfect mother, sweetheart. Already making milk to feed our baby. Shit, I'm getting close."
You took advantage of this short moment of weakness to sit upright, back to your original position. Jimin tried to keep pounding into you out of his own volition, but it was to no avail. The shift made it impossible to move the way he wanted to.
He huffed, "Baby, move. Please.”
Amidst your panting, a soft grin grew on your face, "I always get to cum first, though.”
“Fuck,” he breathed in sexual frustration and rapture, “You want my fingers again? Can you handle Daddy’s fingers this time?”
You nodded eagerly, “I can handle it.”
Jimin flashed you an arrogant grin after biting the inside of his cheek, “You want to cum, then start riding me again, baby.”
“Fine, but you can’t move your hips this time,” your fingertips gently traced the red scratch marks on his chest, “You have to leave it all to me.”
He opened his mouth to say something smart - you could tell by what his eyes carried. To shut him up, you bounced on him once, making him moan loudly.
Seeking revenge, he began to rub your clit again, coating his fingers in a slick of your juices and his precum. Your head dipped back as he brought you closer to the stars, resuming a steady pace on his cock.
“Act tough all you want, baby,” he grunted, “You’ll always melt under my touch like this. Don’t ever forget who you belong to.”
The pleasure was too great for your pride to care. You mewled out for him, “Faster!”
The circles on your bud became rapid. You moaned every time you sank back down on his member, chasing your orgasm until you snapped a few seconds later.
You clenched and spasmed around him, halting your movements as you were jolted with a love-made current. Jimin let you ride it out, enthralled by the sight of you experiencing the height.
When you came down, you opened your eyes and put one hand on his chest, the other back on his thigh. Pushing your afterglow aside for now, you wanted to make him come undone like it was the first time.
Stabilizing yourself, you rode him as hard as you could. Jimin didn’t expect it. Your orgasms usually took so much energy from you. You bounced mercilessly.
His eyes drained of any cheekiness. He was fully under your control one last time, entranced by the way his cock was repeatedly disappearing into your warmth. He was totally at your whim, hands cupping your ass and feeling it jiggle slightly with every contact between your cunt and his base.
He moaned in a way you rarely heard.
“Y/N!”
Not yet satisfied, you pushed the envelope even further, “Are you gonna give me a nice big load, Daddy?”
“Yeah,” his cheeks were tinged pink at this point, “Gonna spill my seed into you, baby. Fuck, keep going.”
Thighs starting to exhaust themselves, you kept it up.
“Right there, baby…Right there…Fuck, keep doing that. I’m cumming.”
His semen flooded into you, a throaty groan escaping his lips. His neck craned back into the pillow as his hips and legs jerked, an uncontrollable mechanism as his balls emptied.
“God, baby….”
As both of you labored to breathe, gravity caused his white material to begin leaking out of you almost immediately, coating both of you in it.
You smiled through your panting, relaxing, “Thank you for my reward.”
A low chuckle rumbled through him, “You’re something else. Fuck, I’m so tired now.”
“Me too,” you giggled, “Though I think I might be stuck here.”
You were only half kidding. It took more effort than you were used to in order to hoist yourself off him. Your hips were aching, but the walk to the bathroom helped them readjust.
Your spent boyfriend followed you, hair matted and messed up on the back of his head.
His forearm was pressed against the door frame and he leaned on it, watching you tidy yourself up, “Can you wear that again soon?”
“I can…” you ran a brush through your hair, “If you’d rather not see the other things I bought.”
Jimin raised a brow as he made the few paces over to you, “Oh, there’s more?”
His lips started attacking your collarbone, forcing a squeal from you.
When both of you had cleaned up, you crawled into bed. As was the norm for him, especially now, he rolled over to spoon you. He said it helped him sleep, knowing his love and his child were safe in his arms.
“Goodnight.” you yawned.
“Night,” he lazily kissed your hair, “I love you. So so much.”
“I love you too, Jimin.”
Tumblr media
*The next day*
He was awake at seven in the morning, stirred out of his sleep by the continuous buzzing on his phone.
Eyes hardly able to open, he reached to his nightstand and tapped the screen, revealing a steady stream of new messages popping up.
It was his group chat with the members, blowing up in a panic. At first, none of the texts made sense:
“How could she do this?”
“This is going to be a nightmare.”
“Jimin, are you okay?”
“Let us know what we can do for you guys.”
He scrolled up to the beginning of the conversation, which made his heart stop. It was a link to an article, with a thumbnail that pierced his soul with a burning fury.
This couldn’t be happening.
His head felt fuzzy, vision not yet fully adjusted. His nerves skyrocketed as he left the bed, still being mindful not to wake you. Once he left the bedroom, he allowed his body to move more according to his emotions - frantically.
He was moving about the living room and dining room, pacing yet feeling frozen.
Then he had an incoming call. Oddly, the contact name didn’t perturb him. In a crisis, this was the name he trusted, even after everything that had happened between them.
“Namjoon,” he answered, voice hoarse and panicked, “What the fuck is that? Is it real?”
“Did you click on the link?”
“No,” he replied, running a nervous hand through his hair, “I-I don’t think I want to. Just tell me if that’s a real article.”
The other end was silent for a moment. He could hear Namjoon take a deep breath, “It’s real. I’m so sorry.”
Jimin felt like he could have died. He wanted to rip up the flooring and crawl underneath it, encasing him from the world.
“Holy shit…” he felt detached from everything, “Fuck, what do we do? What do I do? Y/N can't see this."
"She's going to," he said with all the sympathy in the world, "You can't keep it from her."
"No, no...I...I don't understand. I don't- fuck! Why?! Who did this?! Was it her?!"
"No one knows," Namjoon kept his tone even, "But we will figure it out, alright?"
His tongue dripped poison, "I swear to fucking God, if she's behind this, I'll-"
"Jimin?..." your voice was quiet as you emerged from the bedroom. He'd woken you up, having not fully shut the door when he left your side moments prior. You were tying your white fluffy robe around your center, eyes squinting slightly.
He looked at you like a deer in headlights, "I'll call you back, hyung."
He hung up, tossing his phone onto the couch.
You were becoming more alarmed by the second, watching your boyfriend self-soothe gliding his hands over his face and into his hair.
"What's going on?"
"Come sit," he said, "We have a situation."
Your gut twisted as you slowly went to sit down beside him. Jimin took your hands, angling his body to face you directly. He brought your cold hands up to his lips, kissing them.
"I need you to know that I love you," his morning voice was unstable, "I love you a-and we will be okay. We can get through anything together."
You turned your head a little, concerned eyes never leaving his, "You're scaring me..."
He held your hands firmly and set them on his lap, "There's an article. A big one, from a big publication. About the baby...but they think it's me and Seoyeon. They think I'm her baby's father."

Underneath It All
Han x reader (College AU)
Note: I miss writing dearly however I can not get myself to do so. I have been reading stuff by others and missing those authors who are away. I hope to be able to read their work again soon xx

I let my eyes wander to the bench where he sat with his friends, talking and eating his lunch. From the curl of his hair to the color of his lips, I was always enamored with his presence. I understood his appeal—the way girls around the school followed him, talking to his friends just to steal a moment of his attention.
I sighed and lowered my gaze to the grapes on my tray.
"I don't understand why you don't just go up to him and talk like everyone else does," my friend Kat said. She always insisted I had the confidence to do whatever I wanted—just like she did.
"It's because I can't do that. I'm not you. Also I don't really get the hype."
She huffed and stuffed one of my grapes into her mouth. I shot her an unserious look, but luckily, she turned the conversation around, and we started talking about finals next week. I tried to lure my brain back to its senses, forcing myself to forget about the puffy-cheeked boy sitting mere feet away.
I hear the screeching of a chair and glance up just as Han stands with his tray. Our eyes meet for a split second. His gaze sharpens, a flicker of something unreadable passing through them before his expression hardens—dismissive, like we were kids at the playground and I had just stolen his favorite toy.
“Something interesting?” he says, cocking a brow.
I clear my throat and look away, pretending to focus on the grapes on my tray. “Not at all.”
He huffs a laugh under his breath, low enough that only I catch it. When I glance up again, he’s already walking away.
Kat smirks. “Oooooh, tension.”
I roll my eyes and swipe a fry from her plate, ignoring the smug look on her face. I just wanted the next class to come already.
Hours pass, and somehow, I make it to the end of the day. My last class—Art Concepts—is with the least engaging professor in the entire university.
Most days, I can focus just fine, but on select afternoons like this, I find myself sketching assignments for my drawing courses instead.
I usually kept to myself in this class anyway. It just so happened that Han and his two friends, Hyunjin and Felix, were also enrolled.
Today, though, I only saw his friends—no Han in sight.
Fifteen minutes passed, and the professor still hadn't shown up. The room buzzed with quiet conversations, but most students were just waiting. I let my mind wander, zoning out as my gaze settled on the only empty desk beside me.
I didn’t even realize how long I had been staring until a familiar, taunting voice broke through my thoughts.
"Are you, like, alive? Or…?"
I blinked and looked up—straight into Han’s gaze.
I hadn’t even noticed him walk in. But now, standing there with that ever-present smirk, he seemed way too amused. And worse? While I had been lost in my thoughts, I completely missed the fact that this was the only open seat left.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. Just waiting," I respond nonchalantly, forcing my voice to stay even.
I look away before he can catch the shift in my mood, but I swear he senses it anyway.
Han hums, dragging out the sound like he doesn’t quite believe me. "Right. Just waiting. Definitely not zoned out, looking completely lost in thought or anything."
I scoff, finally glancing back at him. "Do you always narrate people’s lives, or am I just lucky?"
His smirk widens as he slides into the empty seat next to me. "Oh, you’re definitely lucky."
I can feel the warmth of his presence, the slight brush of his arm against mine, but I refuse to acknowledge it. Instead, I turn my focus back to my sketchbook, determined not to let him get under my skin.
But he’s relentless. "You’re awfully quiet now," he says, voice low enough that only I can hear. "You were doing so well with that attitude a second ago."
I glance at him again, my eyes narrowing. "Maybe I just don’t have the energy for you today."
His lips twitch, and he leans in slightly, too close for comfort. "Lucky for you, I’m not going anywhere."
I roll my eyes, turning my attention to my sketchbook instead of whatever this was turning into.
I put the rest of my energy into finishing my sketch, hoping the professor would show up—though I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a last-minute cancellation email. My eyelids felt heavy, and my head bobbed every so often, fighting sleep.
Suddenly, I sat up straight, forcing myself to stay awake.
I could feel Han’s gaze shift toward me. His eyes flicked up and down, like he was assessing me. "You good?"
I didn’t even look at him, keeping my focus on my sketchbook. "Yeah. Just… tired."
He tilted his head slightly, clearly intrigued. "Tired? Or just bored?"
I gritted my teeth, trying to keep my cool. "A little bit of both. How about you? Enjoying the show?"
Han chuckled, leaning back in his seat, clearly enjoying the game. "Oh, I’m enjoying it alright. Watching you struggle to stay awake? Priceless."
I bit back a sarcastic reply, but I couldn’t help the heat rising in my cheeks. He was right, and the worst part? He knew it.
"Why did you show up late? Didn’t want to sit with your buddies today?" I ask with a small, teasing smile, barely keeping the smugness out of my voice.
Han quirks an eyebrow, clearly surprised by the question. For a moment, his usual cocky expression falters. "What, you think I’m avoiding them?"
I shrug casually, keeping my gaze fixed on my sketchbook, though I can’t help but notice how he leans in slightly, probably trying to figure me out. "Could be," I say with a slight smirk, though the truth is, I was just trying to throw him off.
He chuckles, but there’s a certain glint in his eyes now. "You don’t know me as well as you think, do you?"
I smile meekly, a bit of satisfaction tugging at the corners of my lips. Maybe this wasn’t such a bad idea after all.
He leans in a little, voice dropping. "Or maybe I just don’t need them to have a good time."
My heart skips a beat at the implication, but I don’t let it show. "Really? So you're fine with sitting next to me then?" I raise an eyebrow, trying to keep the challenge alive.
He smirks, leaning back again. "Oh, I don’t mind. You make this class way more interesting."
I roll my eyes, not sure whether I should be annoyed or… flattered? Either way, I keep my cool. "Sure, because I’m the life of the party."
Han chuckles softly, but there’s something about the way he’s looking at me now. "You’d be surprised."
I sit back in my chair, glancing down towards the front of the class, trying to ignore the slight unease swirling in my chest.
Out of the corner of my eye, I notice Hyunjin and Felix staring at us—eyes flicking between me and Han. The second they realize I’ve caught their gaze, they quickly look away, though I swear I see the corners of their lips twitching.
I try not to let it get to me, focusing on the front of the room instead, but it’s impossible not to feel like I’ve become the topic of their conversation.
Han, of course, notices their quick reaction too, and I can almost hear the smug satisfaction in his voice when he speaks. "They can’t keep their eyes off us, huh?"
I sigh inwardly, not giving him the satisfaction of looking his way again. "Maybe they’re just bored."
Han leans closer, his voice a little quieter now, like he’s sharing a secret. "I think they know something’s going on. Maybe they’re waiting for us to make a move."
I raise an eyebrow and cross my arms, leaning back slightly in my chair. "And what kind of move would that be?"
Han tilts his head, a glimmer of curiosity behind his smirk. "I don’t know… something a little less, uh, distant." His gaze flicks briefly to my face, studying me.
I give him a pointed look. "Distant? I’m not the one leaning in every two seconds."
He chuckles, clearly amused by my response, but there’s a flicker of something else in his eyes. "True. You’re different from the others."
I scoff, leaning forward a little. "And what’s that supposed to mean?"
He shrugs casually, but I can see a slight shift in his posture, as if he’s trying to gauge me a little more. "Just that… most girls are pretty eager to talk to me. But you? You don’t exactly jump at the chance."
I keep my expression neutral, but a little voice in the back of my mind tells me he’s digging for something more. "Guess I’m just not like them."
Han raises an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Guess not." He leans back in his chair, his eyes lingering on me for a moment longer than I’m comfortable with. "But it’s interesting, don’t you think? The way you’re not all over me like everyone else."
I don't respond to him. Not because I have nothing to say but because I have this horribly feeling that if I do I'll confess to him about all the times I have thought about talking to him.
I don’t respond to him—not because I have nothing to say, but because I have this horrible feeling that if I do, I’ll accidentally confess to him all the times I’ve thought about talking to him.
The thought hits me like a wave, and my throat tightens. I can’t bring myself to say anything more. If I open my mouth, I might just blurt out all the things I’ve been trying to avoid. All the days I’ve watched him from across the room, imagining what it would be like to just walk up to him and say something.
Instead, I stay silent, hoping he doesn’t notice the way my heart’s picking up speed. I keep my gaze locked on my sketchbook, willing myself to focus on the lines in front of me, even as his presence next to me feels too loud.
Han doesn’t push me for an answer, but I can feel his eyes on me—probing, like he’s waiting for me to crack.
I can feel my heart beat in my ears, each thud louder than the last. My breath catches in my throat, and before I can stop it, I let out a small, awkward cough, hoping it’ll cover up the fact that I’m suddenly drowning in this unwelcome feeling.
I try to look down at my sketchbook, but it’s like the weight of his gaze is heavy on me now. I know he’s still watching, and it makes my skin burn with embarrassment.
"Are you okay?" Han’s voice breaks through the silence, and it’s so much softer than I expect.
I swallow hard, willing my face to stay neutral. "Yeah, fine," I say quickly, trying to sound casual, but I can feel the heat in my cheeks betraying me.
I glance at him, just for a second, and then immediately look away when I realize the intensity in his eyes. Great, now he probably knows I’m acting weird.
I glance at him, just for a second, and then immediately look away when I realize the intensity in his eyes. Great, now he probably knows I’m acting weird.
Han doesn’t laugh or tease this time. Instead, there’s a moment of silence, and then his voice comes, softer than before. "You sure you’re fine?"
I look up at him, trying to keep the nervous flutter out of my chest, but his gaze is a little too intense. I open my mouth to respond, but the words don’t come out immediately. Why is he being like this?
He leans a little closer, his tone casual but with an undertone of something more. "You don’t usually act like this. You, uh, okay?" His eyes flicker to my face, like he’s trying to read me.
For a second, I consider just brushing it off. But the way he’s looking at me—so quietly observant, like he’s seeing through my walls—makes me hesitate. I can’t just say something random and pretend everything’s fine.
I clear my throat, finally forcing words out. "Yeah. I’m just tired."
Han doesn’t seem entirely convinced, but he doesn’t push further. He leans back, though his gaze still lingers for a moment longer than I expect. "Alright. Just making sure."
By this time, it's been almost thirty minutes, and the professor still hasn’t shown up. I glance at the clock, my patience running thin. I decide that saving myself by leaving is the best option. The thought of heading back to my dorm and possibly taking a nap on my desk sounds like pure bliss right now.
I start packing my things back into my bag, my mind already half-out the door. I’m just about to zip it up when I rub the exhaustion out of my eyes, feeling the weight of the day settle in.
Before I can grab my bag and head out, I hear Han’s voice again, this time sounding a bit more serious than I expect. "You leaving?"
I pause, the motion of stuffing my sketchbook into my bag halting as I glance up at him. Han’s eyes are no longer playful, and his posture is slightly more upright, like he's actually paying attention to me for the first time today.
I hesitate for a second, debating whether to just walk away or give him some kind of answer. Finally, I shrug, trying to sound casual even though I can feel the heat rising in my chest. "Yeah, don’t think this class is happening."
Han studies me for a moment, and then his lips curl into a small, almost knowing smirk. "You sure about that? I think you just might be missing something."
I can’t tell if he’s being sarcastic or genuine, but it’s enough to make me stop mid-motion. I stare at him, my hand frozen on the zipper of my bag. Is he serious? Does he want me to stay?
I stare at him for a moment, unsure if I heard him right. His expression has shifted again, no longer playful, but still too hard to read. My heart skips a beat, and I feel a strange pull—like maybe I’m missing something, like maybe he wants me to stay.
I glance at the door, my mind already made up. I should just leave. This class is practically canceled anyway.
But something in the way Han is looking at me makes me pause. Why do I feel like I’m being baited?
He raises an eyebrow, as if he’s waiting for me to say something, but all I can do is stare back, unsure of how to respond. I can’t decide whether it’s his confidence or the curiosity building between us that’s keeping me rooted to the spot.
Finally, I let out a small, almost nervous laugh. "You really think the professor is going to show up?" I try to keep my tone light, but it’s clear I’m still trying to deflect.
Han just shrugs, leaning back slightly in his chair, his smirk returning. "Could be. Or maybe, you're just avoiding something."
I frown, unsure of what he means, but the way he says it catches my attention. He’s not even teasing anymore. There’s something in his eyes—something that makes me feel like he’s trying to figure me out, in the way that only someone who’s actually paying attention would.
I bite my lip, looking back at my bag again, but somehow, I don’t feel the urge to rush out the door anymore. I feel... caught.
Han’s eyes flicker to my bag and then back to me. "You know, I’ve never actually seen you stick around after class." His voice is low, and even though he sounds nonchalant, there’s a subtle weight behind it. "What’s the rush?"
I feel my stomach flip. He’s definitely noticed something, and I’m not sure if I like that.
I bite my lip, my fingers tracing the edge of my bag, the words swirling in my head. It’s you. You’re the reason I feel like I’m in a rush.
But I can’t say that. I can’t tell him that.
Instead, I clear my throat, trying to shake the weight of my own thoughts off. "I don’t know, maybe I just... have stuff to do." The words feel hollow, like they’re coming from someone else, but I push them out anyway, hoping it will stop him from seeing right through me.
Han doesn’t seem convinced, though. His gaze never wavers, like he’s watching for any little sign I might give away. And somehow, I feel like I’m standing completely exposed, like he knows exactly what I’m thinking but is waiting for me to say it.
I shift in my seat, trying to keep my cool. "I don’t like staying after class. Just feels... pointless."
He raises an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. There’s something about the way he looks at me that makes me feel like he’s trying to coax me into admitting something—anything.
I let out a breath, my heart beating just a little faster. There’s this feeling creeping up my chest, like maybe, just maybe, if I told him—if I said the words—something would change. But I can’t.
"Anyway," I say, my voice steady but shaking on the inside, "I should probably go."
I stand up quickly, trying to escape the suffocating tension. I can feel his eyes on me as I move, and it makes my pulse quicken even more. It’s him. He’s the rush. He’s the one who keeps me from leaving. But I can’t say it. Not now. Not ever.
I push through the door of the building, the cool air hitting my face as I step outside. I take a deep breath, hoping the open space will calm my nerves. The campus is quieter now, the usual hustle and bustle having quieted down as students filter out of the building, heading in different directions.
Finally. I’m free.
But as I take a step forward, I hear the sound of footsteps behind me. A little too close to be a coincidence.
I don’t turn around. I can’t turn around.
I keep walking, my steps faster now, almost instinctively, trying to escape this strange feeling gnawing at me. I feel the weight of his gaze even without looking back.
But then, out of nowhere, I hear his voice.
"Not running away again, are you?"
I freeze. My heart stumbles in my chest. Han’s standing just behind me now, a few steps away but enough to make it impossible to ignore him. The teasing tone is still there, but it’s quieter, more deliberate. His presence is almost… unsettling now.
I slowly turn to face him, trying to keep my expression neutral, but I’m sure he can see the flicker of confusion in my eyes. He looks completely unbothered, like following me out here was the most normal thing in the world.
"I’m not running away," I say quickly, my voice a little sharper than I intended. I don’t even know why I feel defensive; it’s not like I owe him an explanation.
Han doesn’t seem to mind my tone. He just looks at me with that same unreadable expression. His eyes flicker toward the building we just came from, then back to me.
"So, what is it then?" His voice is low, casual, but the question hangs in the air like a challenge. "You avoiding me?"
I laugh, but it’s tight, forced. "No, I’m not avoiding you." My stomach twists, but I refuse to let him see how much his words are affecting me.
Han steps closer, the space between us shrinking, and I feel my pulse quicken. "Funny," he says with a half-smile, his gaze intense. "Because it sure seems like it."
I try to step around him, my thoughts a jumbled mess, but Han steps into my path again, blocking my way. There’s a smirk tugging at his lips, but his eyes are serious now. He’s not playing games anymore.
"Are you really just going to walk away?"
My breath catches, but I stay silent, my heart pounding like it’s about to escape my chest. I glance up at him, and he’s looking at me with that same piercing gaze. I feel pinned in place, like I’m stuck between wanting to run and wanting to stay.
I take another step, trying to brush past him, but Han mirrors me, moving just slightly to the side to stay in my path.
"What are you so afraid of?" he asks, his voice low, almost like he’s teasing, but there’s a seriousness in the way he looks at me. "You can’t just walk away from this."
I turn my back to him, taking a deep breath to steady myself. He’s not going to let it go.
"What’s your deal, huh?" I snap, spinning around to face him, my voice shaky but loud. I can feel my emotions starting to spiral out of control. "Why do you keep doing this? Why do you keep following me?"
His eyes widen for a split second, but then he’s right back to that confident, collected expression. He steps even closer, barely any space between us now. "I don’t know. Maybe I’m just curious."
His words hit me like a punch to the gut, and before I can stop it, the floodgates open. "Curious?" I laugh, the sound coming out bitter. "You want to know why I’m avoiding you, right?"
I don’t wait for him to answer. The words are spilling out before I can think, like they’ve been locked inside me for far too long.
"It’s you, okay? You… you intrigue me." I wince as I say it, my own voice feeling too loud, too vulnerable. "I can’t stop thinking about you. I think about talking to you all the time, and I just… I just can’t."
I can’t believe I’m saying this. My heart is racing so fast, I’m sure he can hear it. I’m terrified of how exposed I feel, how raw my emotions are right now.
Han’s eyes soften, just slightly, and for a second, I think maybe he’s going to say something comforting, but then his lips curl into a small smile.
"So, you do want to talk to me, huh?" He leans in a little closer, his voice almost a whisper. "Then why don’t you?"
I open my mouth, but no words come out. I want to run away. I want to disappear into the ground and never come back. But I can’t. Not now. Not with him standing there, waiting for me to finish what I started.
I stand there, frozen, my heart pounding so loud I’m sure he can hear it. His eyes are still on me, waiting for my next move, the silence stretching between us like an invisible thread pulling me in.
"So, you think about talking to me all the time?" Han’s voice is a little lower now, almost teasing, but there’s something behind his words I can’t quite place. He steps just a little bit closer, his proximity making everything feel heavier.
I try to pull back, but something in me is rooted to the spot. "I…" My voice falters, and I swallow hard, feeling the weight of his gaze bearing down on me. It’s like he’s waiting for me to crumble.
He watches me for a moment, his eyes glinting with something that I can’t quite name. Then, finally, he steps back just a bit, his shoulders softening, as if he’s deciding to give me space. But instead of turning away, he looks at me with a soft, genuine smile.
"I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable," he says quietly. The teasing edge is gone, replaced by something warmer. More real. "I just… didn’t expect you to say that."
The words settle around me like a weight, and for the first time since this entire conversation started, I feel like I can breathe. His presence isn’t overwhelming now—it’s almost comforting. Like he’s not trying to get anything out of me, but just… understanding.
I don’t know why, but the sudden shift in his demeanor makes me feel like I’ve been holding my breath all this time.
"You intrigue me, too," I say softly, my voice barely above a whisper. It feels almost like a confession, but it’s true.
I can’t look at him directly, not after everything I’ve said, so I focus on my hands, suddenly feeling all too aware of how much I’ve just exposed. My cheeks heat up, and I pray he won’t notice.
But then, Han reaches out, just lightly touching my arm, and my heart skips a beat. It’s so gentle, almost like he’s trying to steady me without saying a word.
"It’s okay," he murmurs, his voice soft, the teasing gone completely now. "You don’t have to explain yourself."
And just like that, everything that had felt so heavy—so intense—begins to soften. The walls I had built up around myself start to crumble in the most unexpected way. I feel my shoulders relax for the first time since I’ve known him, and I can’t help but smile softly.
For a moment, we just stand there, the silence stretching between us like a quiet thread connecting us in ways I never imagined. My heart is still racing, but it’s not in a panic anymore. It’s the kind of racing that feels real, like something is about to change.
Han’s gaze doesn’t waver from mine, and I can feel the weight of everything I’ve just said hanging in the air. His eyes soften just a little, and I wonder if he can feel the shift too. Maybe he’s as caught up in this as I am.
The tension feels like it’s building again, but this time it’s different. It’s not awkward or uncomfortable—it’s something else. I don’t know if it’s the way he’s looking at me, or if it’s because I finally said the truth out loud, but I can’t look away. I don’t want to.
But before I can say anything else, I hear the sound of footsteps approaching. My heart gives a little lurch, and I look away just as Hyunjin and Felix come around the corner of the building. Han doesn’t break eye contact with me until they catch up, and then he turns his head slightly, breaking the spell we were caught in.
"Hey, guys," Han says, his tone shifting as his friends approach. They give him a knowing look, and then they glance at me, but they don’t say anything right away. It’s like they’re waiting for him to explain.
I clear my throat, suddenly feeling a little out of place. "Hey," I mumble, trying to act casual even though my heart is still pounding.
Han looks over at me, his eyes glinting with a teasing edge again, but there’s something different in his expression this time.
"These are my friends, Hyunjin and Felix." He gestures toward the two of them. "You’ve met Felix before, right?"
Felix gives me a warm smile, his eyes lighting up when he sees me. "Yeah, I think we had a class together last semester!"
Hyunjin just gives me a small nod, his eyes sharp, but he doesn’t say much. I’m sure he’s observing everything, like he always does.
I try to smile back at them, but the conversation feels a little distant now. I’m still reeling from the earlier exchange with Han, and now, with the three of them standing there, I’m not sure what to say.
"Nice to meet you both," I say, my voice a little quieter than usual.
Han catches my eye again, and I can feel the unspoken words between us. The way he looks at me now is different—like he knows something I don’t.
As soon as Hyunjin and Felix join us, the atmosphere shifts again. I notice Felix giving me another friendly smile, but Hyunjin, on the other hand, seems to be observing us a little too closely.
Han looks at him for a moment, his expression shifting to one of mild annoyance. "What?" Han asks, his voice tinged with a quiet warning.
Hyunjin leans in a little, his eyes flicking back and forth between me and Han, a smirk tugging at his lips. "I didn’t know you were so... chatty these days."
Han’s cheeks flush slightly, and I catch the briefest moment where he looks like he’s about to say something, but he just gives a short, almost dismissive laugh instead. He turns to me, trying to play it cool again. "Don’t mind him, he likes to tease."
But Hyunjin’s eyes never leave Han, and he raises an eyebrow, his tone light but with an edge. "Oh, we can tell."
Felix seems to catch on to the vibe pretty quickly and shoots a look at Hyunjin, trying to diffuse the moment with a casual comment. "It’s been a while since we’ve all hung out, right?"
Hyunjin shrugs, his gaze still lingering on Han for just a moment longer before he finally turns to me with a bright, friendly grin. "Sorry if we’re making things awkward. We’ve just been waiting for Han to make a move for, like, forever."
My heart skips, but I force a smile, pretending I didn’t catch the hint. I look at Han, who looks a little uncomfortable, shifting his weight from foot to foot. "A move?" I ask, genuinely confused.
Felix jumps in quickly, laughing a little too loudly. "He means just, you know… being less of a weirdo around people."
Han shoots him a glare, and I can see his usual easygoing confidence slipping just slightly. "I don’t know what they’re talking about," he mutters, clearly embarrassed.
But it doesn’t seem like Hyunjin is done just yet. He leans in a bit, looking at Han with a playful, knowing grin. "Sure, sure. But don’t worry, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before you show us how you really feel."
I’m still not entirely sure what they mean, but it’s enough to make my heart race again, a mix of confusion and something I can’t quite place bubbling up inside me.
I glance between them, trying to piece together what they’re saying. Felix and Hyunjin are clearly enjoying themselves, but Han seems... almost caught off guard by their teasing. It’s subtle, but there’s something in the way he won’t meet my eyes, something that makes my stomach twist.
"What’s that supposed to mean?" I find myself asking before I can stop it, my voice barely above a whisper.
Hyunjin grins, shooting me a playful wink, his tone light but knowing. "Oh, don’t worry about it," he says, before nudging Felix. "You’ll figure it out soon enough."
I blink, still unsure, but I feel my cheeks start to burn again. My eyes flicker to Han, who's now standing just a little too close for comfort. He’s still quiet, but I can feel the weight of his presence beside me, almost like he’s waiting for me to say something.
My heart is pounding, and I try to brush off the tension, but it’s getting harder to ignore.
As if sensing my confusion, Han finally speaks, his voice softer than usual. "It’s not like that." He glances at me, his gaze lingering just long enough for me to catch the subtle vulnerability in his eyes before he looks away.
The moment feels heavy, and I’m not sure if it’s my racing heartbeat or the silence between us that makes it so hard to breathe. I feel like I should say something, but I’m not sure what to make of any of this yet.
Felix and Hyunjin continue their walk ahead, but I’m left standing there, caught between confusion and something else—something that feels a lot like... curiosity.
I glance at Han again, but this time, he doesn’t look back. Instead, he gives a small, almost imperceptible sigh, like he’s resigned to something. "You should get going," he says, his voice almost gentle.
I hesitate for a moment, unsure of what to say. "Yeah… I should." But even as I turn to walk away, I feel his presence linger behind me, and I know that whatever this is between us... it’s not over yet.

Chapter 2 - Somebody call a doctor?
"Could you be my doctor?" Jess snickers over the phone. She called you as soon as she got home. "Really Y/n?" She cackled even harder. "Girl, you want Dr Grumpy to be more than your person doctor." Pausing for dramatic effect and adding, "You want his daily dose of vitamin D sooo bad."
You knew she had that smug assed grin on her face as you rubbed your forehead. You knew she was right which made you even more flustered and embarrassed. "I know, I know, Jess." You groaned, "I wasn't thinking and it slipped out."
"You are way too cute for your own good." She commented. "You do know that right?"
"So I've been told." You muttered, laying down on your bed and hugging your snow leopard Build-a-Bear. It was an impulse buy you bought yourself for Christmas. It reminded you of Law every time you saw it and held it, wishing it was him.
"Do you need me to go with you to get your first ultrasound?" Jess asked, pulling out her pajamas from her closet
"Nah, be fine." You replied. "Plus Law will be with me."
"Let me know," Jess pressed. "Max considers you family." Max was Jess' big brother and owner of the coffee shop. The pair of siblings thought of you as their own baby sister, even if Jess was a year younger than you.
"Yeah, I know." You smile, "Thanks." You roll onto your side, facing the door.
You hear the tiny pitter patter of tiny feet running through the house and jingle coming towards you as Onigiri comes rushing into your room like a tiny rocket.
You laugh. "Somebody's missed me." You pat the spot beside your bed. "Hey baby, c'mere."
Onigiri. The tiny puppy with pure white fur and a huge black shaped triangle on his head, reminding you of rice balls.
And somehow of Law.
He runs around in a circle and jumps into your bed, barking and nuzzles into your side. Panting as his tail wags.
"I missed you too, my little cutie." You coo gently, petting him as he crawls underneath your blanket and cuddles against your belly.
Well, guess that explains why Onigiri seems glued to your side lately. Animals have a sixth sense of these things or so you've heard.
"Awe, lemme see, lemme see." Jess gushes into your ear, using her baby voice.
"Hold on, hold on." You turn on the camera to face yourself and angle your phone down so Jess can see the picture perfect sight. "There. Can you see him?"
Jess squealed, taking screenshots. "Looks like Dr Love's got some real competition for your love Y/n." She teases, grinning wide. "Onigiri and your mini me. Talk about a handful." Tilting her head, "Hope Doc isn't the jealous type."
"Why do you like to tease the poor man so much?" You ask, laying back down and petting Onigiri. "Are you sure you don't have a bully crush on Law?" You knew she didn't but you had to tease her back, biting your lip to stay composed.
It didn't work, you snorted as Jess grew defensive. Gawking at you and grimacing as if you just drop kicked her grandmother.
"What?! Hell no. Mister tall dark and emo drug lord ain't my type." Jess makes fake gagging noises, which causes you to giggle louder. "Besides, I like'em big and dumb."
"Bepo isn't Law's second in command for nothing you know." You pointed out, laying your head underneath the crook of your arm.
"Oh, you know what I mean " Jess waves you off. "He's so sweet, adorable and knows material arts, loyal, really, really tall." She sighs dreamily, falling into her bed. "Blonde hair, blue eyes... so shy."
"God help that poor, poor man." You give her a dramatic sigh and make the sign of the cross over your heart, "Corrupting poor Bepo's innocence and cuteness with your overly horny witch craft and voodoo magic. Jess for shame."
"Oh hell yes, I would!" Jess fires back. "Don't you judge me after pinning for drop dead gorgeous Dr Heart Stealer Y/n." She points her finger at you, setting her phone into her bed and pulls her shirt over her head, leaving her in her cute purple lacy bra. "I would bet two hundred beri's.. no five hundred that you've had as many sinful, dirty thoughts and wet dreams for Law as I've had for my bear man."
You grew heated. "Fair enough." You couldn't deny it.
"I'll take your silence as a yes." Jess countered in a single song voice, slipping into an adult panda man onesie and fell back into her pile of panda and polar bear stuffed animals. "I'm home my babies." She scoops an armful and cuddles them, smiling wide.
You were honestly thinking you both had a taste in odd men.
Then again, being stuck in the winter island all your lives does make the world feel smaller.
"Alright, I'm going to bed." You yawn, rubbing your eyes and turn your lamp off on your nightstand.
"Night night, love ya." Jess blows you a kiss. "Give me the details tomorrow sexy mama."
You laugh, smiling. "Night, Jess."
You both hung up.
You peaked underneath you blanket to find Onigiri fast asleep, "Night, Onigiri." You whisper softly and layed back down, hugging your snow leopard closer to your chest as you unlocked your phone, thumb hovering over Law's name.
You knew you'd see him tomorrow, and yet, you couldn't help but feel nervous. Seriously, why did you ask your crush to become your doctor? Were you that desperate? At least, he didn't flat out call you an idiot to your face when you gave him a heart attack this evening.
Law's question rang through your mind.
Are you going to put the baby up for adoption?
Sure, it would be the responsible and logical thing to do. You didn't make enough to have a baby right now. You were barely scrapping by as it is. You did have some saving saved up for a rainy day. You had heard of couples try to conceive for years and were unable to, waiting for a miracle that never came. It would feel nice to help someone like that, but the real question was: Could you?
You were honestly surprised Law would agree to seeing you so easily. Surely, he was busy and had enough on his plate as it is.
You felt your lips curl upward.
Maybe the stoic, ice cold and straight laced doctor had a kind heart?
Taking a deep breath you decided to message Law first, nicknaming him "Snow Leopard" in your phone.
You: Good evening Law, thank you for talking with me tonight. I appreciate it. I'm going to bed now. I'll see you in the morning. Good night. :)
Three dots appeared when he messaged you back.
Snow Leopard: It was no problem at all, Y/n-ya. I was the one who offered in the first place. I am glad that you felt you could confide in me.
Good night and sleep well.
Your smile brightened as you set your phone down on the nightstand. "Good night, Law." You closed your eyes as your heart fluttered in your chest and went to sleep.
On the other side, Law sat down in his reading chair after taking off his reading glasses and the book he was reading, sitting in his lap. His phone in hand as he sighed and rubbed his forehead with the back of his palm.
He frowned look down at the message you sent. The pregnancy test you showed him was positive, but you still needed to be seen for a medical checking up and ultrasound. If you wanted him to be your primarily care doctor, he'd do it. He'd support you, offer medical advice, anything within his power and knowledge to help you.
Law set his glasses on the coffee table, put a bookmark in the book as he was reviewing and revising any material he had on pregnancy, labor and child birth on his selves.
He'd seem you around kids. You were always so kind, offering other pregnant woman a helping hand to the door or to watch their little ones while their mothers had to use the restroom or take a call.
He knew you would make a great mother someday.
He didn't expect for it to happen so soon and with someone else, even a one night stand. The tiny, microscopic percentage that you would get pregnant while using both forms of birth control wasn't unheard of, but the odds were their.
He wasn't aware that you were looking for a casual partner or hookup. He might have offered, if he'd known. Then again, he didn't ask and you hadn't brought it up.
Out of all the men on who came passing through this winter island, it had to be Ace. Luffy's big brother.
Law had Luffy's number, knew it wasn't his place to inform the man that you were pregnant, it would be immoral and against doctor and patient confidentiality.
A tiny part of him hoped you didn't have any lingering feeling for the man.
The more he thought about it, the more his feelings he'd bottled up were festering. Jealousy, heartache and longing, to name a few.
Law never wanted you to think he was using his medical practice to coax you into anything you didn't want to do. Or for selfish reasons.
Setting the medical book down on top of the books he had littered and spread outs onto the coffee table. He glanced at it and decided to leave them and would pick everything up in the morning. He stretched and stood to his feet, turned the light off and figured he needed to shower and go to bed.
Law layed in bed, in the dark and stared at the ceiling. His hands tightened around the blanket, then relaxed. It felt dumb to be nervous about tomorrow, he's seen hundreds of patients, so why should tomorrow be any different? Scratch that. He knew why. It was you coming into his office, his new patient.
He scowled at the darkness, rolling onto his side, layed his arm underneath his pillow and slowly took in a deep breath and huffed it through his nose. Reaching for his phone, turning his head as to not blind himself when the screen lit up, glancing down at his lock screen of him and his adoptive father, Rosinante when Law graduated from medical school. Law felt himself smile as he unlocked it with the swipe of his thumb, oops, he forgot to close the text message with you.
He felt his cheeks burn in embarrassed as he backed out and returned to the home screen showing a picture of him, Bepo, Shachi, Penguin and Ikkaku during his uncle Doflamingo's annual Christmas present that Rosinante had taken last year.
Now, that he thought about it. It wasn't long after that he'd met you that night.
He had to rush back to the hospital for an emergency surgery on a patient, after working hours until the patient was stable Law had decided to grab a cup of coffee on the way home. He'd been exhausted, irritable after no sleep, he wasn't looking his best, if he was being honest.
Law had decided to walk down to the local coffee shop since the line in front of the hospital Moonbucks was jam packed and he didn't want to wait. So he went down the street, it was busy but quiet which surprised him. He noticed Bepo, Shachi and Penguin were waiting in line as well, then he remembered they'd mentioned the coffee shop had better service and a more cozy atmosphere. Something about the waitresses were cute and the owner was friendly.
Law didn't really care as long as the coffee wasn't too overpriced or tasted decent, or worse, tasted like watered down bean water. He didn't realize he'd been scowling until a feminine voice called his attention, making him return to reality.
"Long night, I take it?" You smile at him, tablet in hand, waiting patiently. Your hair was in a braid with tiny golden Christmas bells woven into it and you wore a black, blue and white sweater with polar bears wearing scarfs on them. "What can I get you?" You repeat gently.
Law's eyes widened, feeling his heart skip a beat and thud hard into his chest. Inwardly shaking himself and cleared his throat. "Medium dark roast, double shot espresso and cream, please." He felt his skin warm as he pulled out his wallet.
You type out his order, repeat it as he inserts his card. "Will that be all for today, doctor?"
Law's silver gaze met your own. "How did you know?"
Your smile widened, eyes lowering as you giggled. "You're still in uniform doctor."
What? No, he wasn't... Oh. Law glanced down at himself, he was so tired, he forgot to take off his surgical scrubs. Well, that's embarrassing. Thank God, he wasn't covered in blood. The surgeon felt his face grow redder as he covered his eyes with his spotted hat. "Oh, you're right." He muttered to himself, meeting your beautiful gems after typing in his pin and you handed him his receipt. "Thank you miss."
"Y/n." You correct, offering your hand. "Doctor?"
Law readjusted his hat, took your smaller hand in his own and shook it. "Trafalgar Law."
"That's a unique name Trafalgar." You tasted his name on your tongue, made him shudder. "I've never seen you around before. Are you new around here?"
"Law." He correct softly. "Trafalgar is my Last name." He didn't know why he felt the need to correct you, a stranger. He usually didn't care if anyone called him by his first or last name before.
You blushed as you lowered your hand. "Oh, I'm sorry." You cover your burning cheek, giving him a cute sheepish and apologetic smile. "I beg your pardon Law."
It felt right, hearing you call his name. He liked it.
"None taken, Y/n-ya." Law left his lips curl into a slight smirk causing your blush to deepen.
"Y/n-ya?" Your brows furrowed as you stared at him in curiosity. "Is that a strange habit of yours Law?" You lower your hand from your face and half turn, writing his name in a clear medium sized plastic cup. "Or is it how you usually greet people Law-ya?" You tease, eyes sparkling with a teasing lit.
Oh, you were spunky too?
Law's gaze flickered to your hand writing it was neat and cursive, pretty even. His smirk grew into something smug and playful, "Something like that." He commented returning his card into his wallet and back into the pocket of his coat.
"Thank you, Law. Your order will be right up." You fully turn, walking to the coffee machine to make his order.
His gaze lowered to your backside in those tight, stretch black leggings and black boots. He felt himself swallowing, mesmerized by the sway of your hips before he shook himself, raising a hand to scrub his jaw as he glanced away.
Well, he was awake, flustered and horny now. Great, just what he needed.
Law shuffles awkwardly towards the pick up counter, waiting and pulling out his phone to distract himself when he feels someone sling an arm over his shoulder.
"Rough morning, Captain?" Shachi asked smiling.
"Rough night." Law grunts. "Some dumbass decided to fist fight Akainu and play with fire last night while drunk."
"Wow, seriously? On Christmas?" Bepo asks, appearing on the other side of Law.
"Who's that crazy enough to face that tight assed marine?" Penguins asks.
Law sighed, shaking Shachi off and pinched the bridge of his nose with his middle and index finger. "Monkey D Luffy, Garps grandson."
Bepo, Shachi and Penguin all parroted in shock, eyes wide. "Monkey D Garp has a grandson?!"
"Yes, apparently he's got three troublesome grandsons and Luffy, or StrawHat is one of them." Law admitted. "I talked with him and StrawHats mother last night in the waiting room. A reckless, stubborn kid was pissed off about Akainu insulting his older brothers."
"Law?" You called.
Law opened his eyes, lowered his hand and met your smiling face.
"Your order is ready." You lower his coffee onto the counter and scoot it towards him. "Careful, it's hot." You warned gently.
"Well, hello again gorgeous." Penguin purred.
"Captain, I didn't know you were hitting on this cutie." Shachi asked, wiggling his brows, covering his mouth to whisper into Law's pierced ear. "Go, cap. Did you get her number?"
"No, I'm not." Law bit out, gritting his teeth. "And get off." He shrugged him off, stepping forward to pick up his drink. His face softened as he sighed, already feeling mentally drained. "Thank you, Y/n-ya."
"Your welcome, Law." You replied, smile widening as you waved goodbye. "Have a good day and hope to see you again soon."
Law'a lips curled as he plugged his phone onto the charger and layed it down beside him. It figures that it quickly became a habit for him to have coffee at Max's shop from then onward. He had to see you again, even if, he wouldn't admit it at the time. Whenever Law was stressed or down, he thought of you and your smiling face.
Closing his eyes as he whispered gently, "Night, Y/n."
---------
You arrived way too early. At seven in the morning. Folder in hand with all of your important paperwork and your purse as you walked into the hospital and towards the receptionist who greeted you with a practiced perfect smile.
"How many I help you?"
"Did Doctor Trafalgar Law schedule me an appointment for an ultrasound and blood work?" You asked, feelings your cheeks heat up. It would be super embarrassing, if he had forgotten.
She raised a brow. "I'll check." Her eyes returning to her computer, hands hovering over the keyboard. "Name?"
You give her your first and last name.
"Yes, Doctor Law has you scheduled in." She picked up a clip board and handed it to you. "Fill these out please and he'll call you shortly." Her gaze scanning you up and down.
Why do you feel as if she's low key judging you?
"Thank you." You smiled back, picked a seat and sat down. Opening your folder and wallet, writing down your information. You were on the last page when some walked through the door and called your name.
"Y/n L/n?"
You raised you head, smiling widening as you gathered your things and stood.
It was Bepo. The giant man was dress in bright orange scrubs.
"Bepo!" You walked towards him. You ignored the receptionist stare on your back. "It's great to see you."
Bepo leaned down and hugged you, gently. "Garchu, Y/n!" The giant blonde man nuzzled the top of your head in affection. "Law told me you would be here this morning, but he didn't say what for." He pulled away, frowning in worry. "Are you alright?"
You forgot that Bepo was a huger. "Garchu Bepo." You laughed, hugging him back. "I'm fine. Just need to run a few tests." Well, you weren't wrong.
"Don't be nervous." Bepo holds the door open for you and let you in first before leading the way with his own clip board in hand. "First we will do a standard physical and then Law will be with you shortly." Glancing down at the clipboard in your hand he smiled, "I'll take that for you when you are finished."
True to his word, Bepo took your height and weight, standard physical. Gave you a plastic cup with your name on it and asked you to use the bathroom across the hallway to pee in a cup.
It always felt awkward peeing in one of those tiny plastic cups. You were lightly haunted the one time you had to use one during a standard drug test and your were on your period. That was embarrassing as you had handed it to the guy with a huge blush on your face.
Shaking your head you took the cup, did your business, washed your hands and very carefully watched back to the nurses station to hand her the full cup.
She thanked you and took the sample with a gloved hand and put it in a ziplock bag.
You made a beeline towards the room you were in to finished your paperwork. Don't think about it. Don't think about it. Don't think about it!
You placed the clipboard onto the desk when you heard someone knock.
"Y/n-ya?" Law's voiced called behind the door. "May I come in?"
"Yes, Law you may." You giggle. You really couldn't help it. You walked back towards your seat.
Law opened the door and walked in, a brow raised. "Someone slept well, if you are think spunky in the morning."
You try to ignore how incredible-y hot Law looks in his glasses, lab coat and the stethoscope around his neck. Not to mention, the black button down he's wearing with a few of the buttons unbuttoned and his sleeves roll half up his arms. Jesus, did he not care about the hospital dress code?
You swallow, stealing a glance at his tattoos, not to mention the hint of muscle peaking though. Oh, how you wanted to trace the hidden pattern of ink with your fingers or tongue. Inwardly telling yourself to shut up you answered, "Something like that."
Closing the door behind him, Law went towards the sink to wash his hands, dry them and slip on a pair of latex gloves. "Other than yesterdays vomiting. Are you showing any other symptoms of pregnancy? Anything you can think of or might have missed?"
You hum, counting off your fingers. "My period being two weeks late, having to go to the bathroom more often, I have this weird craving for bbq and having cramps, but no period.... that's about it."
"Everything seems normal." He concluded, picking up your paperwork and skimming through it. "Do you remember what set off your nausea?"
"Yeah, pickles from Max's sandwich which sucks." You pout. "I love pickles."
Law glanced up and opened his mouth to say something when there was another knock on the door.
"Come in." Law answered without peaking over his shoulder.
"I'm coming to collect Y/n's paperwork and to give her this gown to change into." Bepo replied sheepishly, "Sorry." The poor man got easily discouraged and depressed.
"It's fine, Bepo." Law waved him off, handing him the clipboard, taking the blue dressing gown from Bepo and handing it off to you before he stood. "I'll let you change while I wait outside."
"Thank you again, Law." You smile causing the doctor to pause.
"Your welcome, Y/n-ya." Law gave a hint of smile then closed the door behind him.
You released the breath that you didn't know you were holding. Just think of this as a regular doctors visit, Y/n. Don't make it weird. Law's not here to be ogled and drooled after. You mentally scolded yourself, feeling yourself growing flustered. He's doing this job. Get those fantasies out of your head!
Ugh, why did Jess slip that stupid doctor romance novel into your email this morning?! You know she did it on purpose.
Didn't help that it had you hooked when you found out of the male lead was a grumpy doctor. Who had you immediately think of Dr Heart Stealer himself.
Holding your closed into the chair beside you on top of your folder and purse. You felt yourself shiver from the cold air in the room when you were completely naked, except for your fuzzy socks. You knew it would look stupid, but you knew the floor would be cold if you took them off. So you slipped on the hospital gown. Uh oh. How were you going to tie the back, if you can't see what your doing?
Okay, think about it as a bigger apron. That's all it is, yup... nope. Dammit.
You jumped as your heard another knock on the door. "Yes?" You sat down in your seat, on the white crinkly thin assed sheet of paper they always put on these seats. You knew it was for sanitary reasons, but you always hoped you never tore it.
"Y/n-ya? Are you decent?" Law asked.
"I.. uh.. I might need some help." You admitted, mentally groaning. "Can you help me, please?"
Law opened the door. "What's the matter?"
You pout and half turn while completely covering your ass, yet you felt the cold air hit your back. "I can't seem to tie it."
"Is that all?" He chuckled, step forward and slipping on new medical gloves. "I can always ask a female nurse to-"
You cut him off. "It's really no bother, Law."
"Alright." Law nods, slowly approaching as you fully turned and moved your hair out of the way. The man towers over you, reaches out, his inked hand hesitates before he helps you tying the hospital gown closed. His skilled fingers move with practiced easy. Gaze flickering down to your skin, noticing the map of goosebumps, It's from the cold in the room, he tells himself, even if, he secretly wished it was from him having such an affect on you.
With your back completely bare before him and being unable to see his transfixed and greedy stare as his cheeks warm and his heartbeats and thunders hard in his ears. He'd love nothing more than to trail feathery light kisses or his inked digits along the nape of your neck, press you closer into his chest and cause a new litter of goosebumps to pebble and rise.
God, Law doesn't know what he wants to do more. Hold you, tease you, kiss you or all three? Was this a bad idea or mistake having you as his new patient? A cute distraction that he didn't need. A temptation to test his patience as he forced himself to not act on impulse or his intrusive thoughts? Swallowing thickly, he lowered his hands. "There." He backed away to give you space as to not intimidate you. Law hoped you didn't think he was being a creep with how long it look him to tie the damned gown closed.
You fully turn and smile at him. "Thanks, Law."
"Your welcome, Y/n-ya." He meets your beautiful eyes. Once again, he found himself checking impulse after impulse with you, ignoring the yearning he felt or simply reach out to cup your face to run his inked thumb along the apple of your cheek.
Your gaze lowered dreamily to his lips. Would he taste like mint and coffee? Cinnamon, or spearmint?
There was another knock on the door, causing reality to come crashing back down, washing away the sexual tension and raw, burning haze from you both.
Yes, he's The Doctor and you as his new Patient.
Law's jaw clenches. "What is it?" He calls without glancing away from you before half turning to fully glare at whoever the hell was behind that goddamn door.
The door opens, Penguin peaks his head through and smiling sheepishly. "Sorry to disturb you but uh.... the newbies in training and interns are growing bored." His gaze flickers to you, his face and eyes brighten, apologetic smile turning smug. Oh, that's why Captains been fidgeting and antsy since he clocked in at 5am, secretly passing his office.
Law's heated glare turned seething, clicking his tongue. "Can't they follow simple orders or expect me to hold their hands?" Slipping his gloves off and throwing them in the trash as he storms towards the door, pauses and glances back at you from over his shoulder. "Excuse me, Y/N-ya." His face and angered expression softened a smidge, noticeable, but there.
"Don't worry." You wave your hand in a shooing gesture. "I'll be right here. "Don't be too harsh on 'em Doctor Law." You giggle.
Law nods again, giving his back to you. His eyes darken and his long legs making quick strides in Penguin's direction who immediately backs away to give his friend and boss more room. His inked hand tightens around the handle, the metal groans as he swung the door open, his frame taking up the full space as he goes off. "What the hell are you lot stranding around for? This is a hospital. A place of medicine and healing, not an amusement park or get away."
You hear apologies flying, feet shuffling at Law's command as if he's the God himself.
"Sorry Doctor!"
"Right away, Sir!"
"But I already finished my task."
"It's my break, Doc." Someone complained. "Been working since last night."
Law's jaw continues to clench and grind. "I don't want to hear excuses," he growls, causing all of them to take in their boss' demeanor. Sure, Law's a crabby, stick in the mud and can bark out harsh and cold comments, but... The Surgeon of Death looks more angry and close to snapping.
It's like he's a man possessed by the devil himself.
Bepo looks worried.
Penguin huddled closer to Shachi, whispering in his ear that you are here. The pairs shoulders shake, trying to keep in their snickers. "Caps, gone full territorial mode."
Of course, Law heard that. "What was that?" A tick mark formed on the corner of his forehead. "Are you volunteering for Clinic Duty this morning, Shachi?" He tilts his head, voice dripping in venom. "How kind of you. Now hop to it."
Penguin and Shachi flinch. Their eyes widening, meeting cold, liquid silvers.
"But Cap, it's Pen's turn.." Shachi correctly.
Law's eyes narrows. "Did I shudder?"
Shachi shuts up and followed orders.
Being left along, you were left with your thoughts and observing. You were reminded of seeing him in his blue scrubs the first night you two met.
Law seemed like the kind of angry and grumpy doctor who rarely smiled or glares and barks orders, a gorgeous asshole with a coffee addiction, clearly overworked and an insomniac.
It makes sense, that he's grouchy.
You will admit that you felt a spark rush through you when your eyes connected with his stormy, smoldering silver eyes. They're beautiful and overpowering.
You think that's the first time you've been Law's stoic mask crack into a murderous glower. Dare you say his angry expression was cute? Watching from a distance, he looked like a tiger stalking his pray, it should make you feel unnerved and scared.
You can't pull your gaze away from the scene.
Then again, this is the first time you've seen Law in his element, his work place and stomping ground. The growl and authority dripping from his deep voice causes your thighs to press together, his shoulders are tense as his inked hand tightens around the door frame, muscles flexing underneath his inked skin.
His demeanor is more intimating. His agitation vibrates through the chill in the air conditioned room, causing goosebumps to rise and spread across your skin and your nipples hardened as you bite your lower lip. Sweet mother and Christ, scold me and command me like that Doctor Law and I'm all yours. You feel your face grow inflamed as you mentally scold yourself again. Dammit, go away, naughty thoughts, go away! You yell inside your head and mentally waving your arms, growing more embarrassed. Stupid Jess! Stupid raunchy Doctor romance novel! I blame you!
Hearing the door close, your straighten your shoulders and try to act as if you weren't mentally arguing without self and thinking something kinky about your new, hot Doctor.
Law lowers his frame back into his seat, scooting it closer as the wheels roll across the tiled floor. He releases a huff, shoulders relaxing as he runs an inked hand through his dark, unruly tresses. "Apologies, Y/n." This close, you can see the faint dark circles underneath his eyes, become more pronounced as it brings out the color of his bewitching liquid metal orbs.
You swallow around the lump in your throat, mouth feels dry. "Can I have some water, please?"
"Of course," Law nods, standing to his feed, walks out to the nurses station and comes back with a chilled bottle of water. "Are you alright?" Offering you the water with a hint of concern in his voice.
"Yup, I'm fine." You take it and try to open it. Brows furrow as you try again. "What the hell?" Again, its not budging. "Did they glue this on or something?"
Law pressed his lips together to bite back a laugh. "Here, let me before you make a mess." He reaches out and gently, taking the plastic bottle into his hand, twisting it and like magic it opens with ease. Resealing it and handing it back to you, watching as you reach out and squeeze the offending plastic a bit too hard, not caring, if a few big, fat droplets fall and land on your thin hospital gown.
"What kind of bullshit is this?" You glare at the bottled water as you took a few gulps to quench your thirst. You blink, feeling yourself grow even more heated and re-screwing the cap. "Wow, these mood swings are seriously no joke. Oh, thank you by the way."
This time Law did laugh. "No problem, Y/n-ya." He cleared his throat while his shoulders shook as he grinned, it looks boyish and made him appear younger as he answered. "Loss of strength, hormonal changes, mood swings and fatigue are all normal during the first trimester."
"I can't exactly run to you every time I can't open a bottle of water Law." You replied, hand tightening around the bottle. "You are a busy guy. People need you."
"Yes, but I'm your doctor now and I always take good care of my patients. You are a top priority now, don't ever forget that Y/n-ya."
"Play favorite now are we, Doctor Law?" You tease, leaning back down onto the table.
Law was tempted to say yes, but kept his mouth shut as he pulled the mini ultrasound machine closer.
He takes what looks to be a white vibrating wond, if you've ever seen one. Slipping a condom over it, opening a bottle of lube and smearing it on the device. "Now, I want you to guide this to the opening of your vagina and I'll do the rest." His tone is serious, he isn't joking.
Your eyes widen. "What?" Your face reddening.
------ End of Chapter 2 ------
I know, I know, I'm late. I'm sorry! But I hope this makes up for it! The Cliff hanger was an impulse XD Gotta keep ya'll on your toes, don't I?
Happy Valentines Day, my peeps and Law!

summery: lust!matt is afraid about his life way, but also too scared to confess he did all those horrible things, si he gives lust!chris, his brother- as an example
-english is not my first language-
this is not that much of an angst one shot but I might turn this to an au if ppl will like it sooo.
matt's pov
"chris was always a night guy.
parties, drinks, and pretty girls. oh he loved them. seeing them walk around with those tight tops and low raised jeans, he was addicted.
chris is not sexuall harassing. but every girl who sits on his car, he throws her some "remark" about sex and smiles.
he's not touching her chest- but he puts a hand on her thigh. and then orders her two tequilas, maybe three- because chris don't want to get into your heart, only to your "company".
so he'll tell you about how he was hockeying in highschool and how he was rocking on the ice. he'll pay the bill- but you'll pay the price.
chris is not sexuall harassing, and he's not that horny too, but from time to time he feels empty. and every girl in the reduce turns an object. he forgot how to talk but knows how to flirt.
the end of the night is apparent, everything is in place and the path is traced. same bar same cocktail for a week ago, same topics of conversation- fidgeting some meaning for a tattoo.
until it works, he captures them. and the fact that he treats them respectfully doesn't mean that he respects them.
dont get me wrong, chris don't love women, it's deeper them that, he loves that women make him love himself.
chris has 5 girls on Instagram- same stories, same lame hook, something like:
"listen I'm not a person who hits girls usually, but with you? I decided to deviate from my norm"
it started in highschool as a way to impress man, but it now turned to a way to stick fractions since...well chris never acquired self-esteem, and the only moment he feels it is with you in the car.
chris is not sexuall harassing. he's just...sort of a murderer. and maybe I'm exaggerating I know, but chris is not that kind of a killer, he does it gently. not sneaking in the dark with a mask; he'll walk towards you with a smile, confident, and an bulge.
and what turns him to a murderer is that a woman for him is just a body. and when he used the potential, so bye.
the next day chris needs to satisfy his needs opening his phone, searching it in a swipe- tinder bumble and if that won't work so cupid, once a while.
he's not sexuall harassing but his relationship with sex is. because there's no way chris walks down the street without looking to the sides and say "fuck. she's mad hot."
shoots a glance back, checking her out. like a sniper puts the cross on the target. chris is never fine, but with a pretty girl? he's never bad as well. in the day he's were, at night he's a werewolf. when it's night time he's searching for a prey since he'll feel pain soon.
so he don't want woman, he wants them to want him. he'll cancel all his plans so they would go out with him.
let's say...the work on mornings? is going to trash. abandoning friends on their birthdays, chris plays dirty again.
and he never held himself back for any woman, yet he keeps sending them messages one after another. you don't need to sand a dick pic to act like one, chris is crosing targets he has fire in his eyes.
it's because he has grief carrying from home, between him and the man he's willing to be there's a gap that he still cant stick.
he just can't cast that spell, chris compels.
chris lies, chris flirts.
chris cums, chris regrets.
between love and lust chris gets confused. chris can't let himself be with no options, so chris mults. and chris dont want to give you nothing, he want to get.
chris is lost. what was cute at the age of 18 turned wired now when he's 30.
woman tells? it's not impressing.
chris is a thirty year old man, and never got to actually fall in love. only a love that invites, that always excites.
it's the same scenes, that one comes- the other one goes, and when chris closes the door and says goodbye...it's not his first winter alone with no one nearby.
chris knows well the loneliness, he knows it won't disappear if he won't let himself feel the emptiness. but he's not ready for it because how will he feel successed?
if he won't be with her, her, her, and probably with you too.
you need to understand this, chris don't want, he has to. a childhood full of lost created a lot of demons.
chris is not sexuall harassing but relationship with sex is. so he'll go for every girl even if she's not his type in the vibe or the right age, since he's in pain and it's friday night at the loud streets of LA. and that girl looks exactly like a painkiller.
and chris is afraid to see that under all these run away ways he's just an empty person.
and me? it scares that chris...is sort of...me."
matt paused himself after getting finished his little speech he said to himself, turning around from the pretty morning view out the window to see the random girl he already forgot her name, laying there in the bed. "nuh i need to dip" he spoke to himself again. grabbing his little bag and jacket before leaving the place.

a-n: this came out way more poetic then I thought lmao, I love writing about lust!matt & lust!chris, also my friends told me it was a really good plot twist, but I wrote it was matts pov from the start so...hope you liked it♡ please support by reblogging! divider by @issysh3ll

" it is almost impossible to watch a sunset and not dream .
"Jeez Soda, why do you gotta be like that?" Ponyboy asked, words drawled as he frowned at his older brother who was messing around with Steve. "Now Darry's gonna blame me!" He complained, gesturing to the broken glass as he groaned loudly.
"Awe, don't worry Pony, it'll be fiiine." Soda had dragged out the last word, making it seem even less fine than Pony had originally felt. As Pony pouted, arms crossed and bottom lip jutted out, Two-Bit walked by.
"C'mon horseman, pony up," Two joked, giggling at his own joke—even though it didn’t make sense—as he ruffled Pony's hair, the younger one batting his hand away before he could do any real damage. Most everyone glanced towards the door when they heard it open—Pony being too distracted by smoothing down his hair—, Dallas and Johnny stepped in.
"Droppin' off the kid," Dally spoke, saluting at everyone before heading back out too quick for anyone to try and get him to stay. As the door slammed closed, they all went back to what they were doing. Two-Bit sitting on the couch, nursing a hangover he hoped to be gone soon, Soda cleaning up the glass, hoping not to cut himself, Steve—who should probably be helping, wasn't, and Pony back to pouting now that his hair was fixed.
Johnny offered a weak wave to the youngest when he came to sit down on the chair across the table. Pony nodded as a greeting back, shifting in his seat with a sudden embarrassment of pouting.
He didn’t know Johnny very well. Despite there being a few months between their first meeting and now–it was hard to know someone when they didn’t talk much about themselves. And the older still seemed shy around the group. Soda always said that Johnny would open up soon enough though. And Soda was always right. On social topics, that is.
"Heya Johnnycake, how're ya doing?" Steve questioned as he came by, squeezing Johnny's shoulders.
Johnny mumbled out a fine, nodding his head as he glanced at Steve without moving his head, watching as the older finally gave up to Soda's pestering and went to help him with the glass.
"You doin' alright?" Pony added, focusing his attention on the male across from him. Another nod was the response he got. "You sure?" Pony pushed lightly, stretching across the table slightly to get closer to Johnny.
Johnny shifted his head up to let Pony see his full face. And then the older smiled. Just a small quirk of the lips, but a smile. "Yeah Pone," Johnny started. "Fine."
Pony nodded immediately and backed away, making sure not to stare at the other's face too long. He's sure he turned red, having never seen Johnny's actual smile before, but . . .
Man, was that cute.
Tumblr media
"Heya Johnny, have you studied for the science test yet?"
And that's how Johnny Cade found himself crossing the street to the library, the younger male beside him, Ponyboy Curtis. He's pretty sure he mumbled something about not wanting to study, but he figures he should. Try, at least.
"What do we even study?" Johnny questioned, desperate enough to know the answer that he voiced his concern.
"Textbooks, other . . . science things," Pony shrugged.
Johnny nodded despite the answer he got, and the two continued in comfortable silence to the library. Soon enough, they were sitting at a table in a relatively empty room, and Johnny snatched the nearest science textbook Pony had brought over.
His head shot up when a sudden thump sounded, and he quickly found the source being Pony—who had dropped a pile of books on the table. "What's all that?" He asked, hand resting on the textbook already in front of him to save his page.
The younger shrugged again. "More textbooks," he offered vaguely, but Johnny merely nodded again, eyes darting back down to the book in front of him as he saw Pony go and start reading a book from of the corner of his eye.
Hours passed—was probably only an hour or so though—, and even though he was barely halfway through the textbook, Johnny pushed his chair away from the table to go and walk around the library. He usually liked the quietness it held, and he knew that Pony loved coming here. A win-win he guesses. He doesn't get much silence, and Pony needs someone to go with.
He stepped through the plethora of shelves that only really reached up to his neck, but he was short. Knew it from all the times people rested their arms on his shoulders. Hated how it made him seem even younger than he already looked.
Black colored eyes drifted lazily across the books and he passed through a few shelves, focus landing on a familiar title. He crouched to get a closer look at the spine, reaching out to tug it towards him slightly—taking a peek at the cover before he slid it out between its place held by two other books.
Great Expectations. They were reading this in class, weren't they? Johnny flipped through the pages, skimming what words he could catch. Tucking the book under his forearm—holding it with his hand—he headed back to Ponyboy.
Pony, too engrossed in his textbook—for reasons Johnny would never understand—didn't take notice of Johnny approaching, jumping slightly when the other tapped his shoulder. "What's up?"
"You feel like reading somethin' else?" Johnny said, offering up the book to Pony, placing it on the table and sliding it over with a single finger.
It took Pony a second, eyes flicking from the book to Johnny and back again, before he picked up the book. "We're reading this in class though," Pony said, flipping through the pages slowly.
"Yeah, I know. But I haven't been reading it so how about catchin' me up?" Johnny asked hopefully, what was an attempt at a persuading smile on his face.
Pony looked long and hard at Johnny one last time before he relented. "Okay," He agreed, sighing as he reached over and grabbed the nearest chair, pulling it towards himself and patting it.
Johnny quickly moved to sit down in the seat offered, watching as Pony flipped around in the book again. "Have you read anything?"
"Yeah—! Maybe the first couple of chapters or somethin',"  Johnny offered, thinking. "I think."
His last addition of words got a deadpanned look from Pony as the younger flipped to the start of the book, and started reading; caring less when Johnny leaned closer as if to read the words on his own.
A few minutes later Johnny settled himself a spot where his head lay on Pony's shoulder, listening intently to Ponyboy's voice. It was soft, perfect for reading things aloud. Smooth and barely struggled with the bigger words that Johnny's sure even Darry wouldn't know.Pony continued on, a mix of his voice, the pages turning, and the dull quietness of the library luring Johnny's eyes closed.
The book reminded him of those days after Mr. and Mrs. Curtis had died—don't ask him why. It was quite bright out, but there was a grayness to the world that Johnny'd never seen before. Like a shadow had been cast over everything, dulling its color and therefore its importance. The things that had been shining those days were Darry, Soda, and Ponyboy—even though they had the dullest color of all the days.
He just remembers trying to be there for the three, having not the slightest clue of what to do or how to help them. He just sat there. Let Pony cling to him as he sobbed his eyes out.
Johnny sighed, opening his eyes again, blinking. He straightened, looking out the window, finding some time had passed. He looked back over to his left, seeing Pony letting out a long breath, and rolling his shoulders back, casually flipping through the book.
"Sorry Pone, must've fallen asleep."
Pony shook his head, like a sign telling Johnny that it was fine. Johnny nodded his head along, and they were left in a blanket of silence. Johnny's gaze was cast downwards as he thought, and he lifted it to speak up; but he got beat by Ponyboy.
"We should head back—Darry's gonna have my ass for stayin' out longer," He said, glancing at Johnny. And the listener nodded once again, pressing his mouth closed, lips forming a straight line as he stood up, pushing his chair in.
It was only as they were walking out—after replacing all the textbooks and Pony deciding to take one home—that Johnny realized he didn't remember any of the studying he did. Deciding to not speak up about it, he shrugged it off. It was better, what the situation had turned out to be. More enjoyable. For sure.
Tumblr media
Johnny watched the track intently, sun beating down on his back but he didn't pay attention to it. He was currently searching for Ponyboy Curtis, best friend, and really the only person he came here for. He barely missed a meet in the entirety of Pony starting track, why would he start now?
Though he had come a few minutes late, Pony probably thought he wasn't coming. He wouldn't miss it—that's what he'd said at Pony's first meet. Still held up now.
He perked up slightly when he noticed a familiar brunet—who was scanning the metal bleachers just as Johnny had been searching the teams. Gazes met, and smiles appeared.
Johnny loved Pony's smile. He had to admit it; the way his eyes lit up with them, highlighting the green that Pony oh so ever hated. Johnny liked the color in them though, gave some uniqueness. Like Pony needed any more though.
Johnny's smile was hesitant, slow to form. Always was, even now. With how comfortable he was with the gang, Pony especially, you'd figure he'd grow out of it. But no, his smile would forever look shy.
The same thing with the greeting of a wave. Pony's was loud—not really—and Johnny's was barely the lift of a hand. Complete opposites, you might say, but they weren't. Not really.
As the runners lined up, Johnny leaned back slightly to relax—there were only a few people who had shown up to this one ( track was never a popular sport. at least from what Johnny saw ), and thankfully he had enough room. He never really understood track, it's just a bunch of kids running to cross a line first, right? Whatever it was, he'd cheer Pony on.
If Johnny was bolder, he would've been one of those embarrassing friends—to mention a few: Dallas and Two-Bit—and jumped up, yelling supportive things and cheered when Pony won either second, first, or third place. Which he did, however, win second place.
Johnny figures you're supposed to head back to your coach, leader, whatever, but what he didn't expect is for Pony to come racing up to him.
Even though his eyes widened in surprise ( and half embarrassment—he's sure people are wondering why the second place winner is running up to a random kid ), he stood up quickly to make sure Pony didn't trip in front of him.
But that only added to the 'oof' effect when Pony practically ran into him, throwing his arms around Johnny's neck and almost toppling the two over if Johnny hadn't found his footing.
"Hey Pone," He coughed, "Congrats, man."
Pony pulled away, still holding Johnny by the shoulders, excitement tracing his features. "Man Johnny, I did it!" He exclaimed, grinning widely.
"Yeah Pone, 'course you did," Johnny offered a smile, huffing out a laugh. Both heads turned when Pony's name got called, and Pony started backwards, looking back at Johnny to make sure he could go.
The gesture was weird, but Johnny nodded his chin towards where the name had been called, sinking down to his seat and watched Pony skip into a jog—back over to his team.
Johnny smiled slightly at the back of Ponyboy's head. The sun made Pony look ethereal even as the younger was looking all ruffled from the meet. A word popped into the back of Johnny's mind, and the raven haired squinted slightly, before brushing it off.
He'd make sure to tell Pony that some time. In the far, far future.
Tumblr media
"Really Pone, I'm okay," Johnny said for the tenth time, voice cracking slightly. His black eyes watched as Pony paced around a bit, looking for the first aid kid. "Everyone's got a few injuries," he added weakly, knowing he wasn't going to win this conversation.
Ponyboy didn't answer until he had found the first aid kit tucked somewhere behind or near the fridge. "Sure Johnny," he agreed sarcastically, tossing Soda a band-aid that the older Curtis brother had asked for previously. "Darry, I found it!" Pony yelled to wherever Darry had been looking, and the rest of the gang headed towards the living room.
"Thanks Little Buddy," Darry mumbled, taking the kit and shifting through the stuff thrown inside. The materials they had were dwindling down every rumble they had, but what else could they do about it except toss a new pack of band-aids in it every month or so?
As the kit got handed around, Johnny denied it when it was offered to him, save for snatching a band-aid. He figured he could just clean the cuts he had and call it good. About to push himself to his feet and head to the sink, a rag was suddenly shoved in his face.
He backed up from it slightly as if it was haunted. Johnny slowly raised his head to meet the eyes of the person offering it, already knowing he was going to see Pony. The two youngest held eye contact, a staring contest of sorts.
Johnny's eyebrows furrowed in concentration, and they stood there silently for a full minute or two—everyone rustling around them—before Johnny groaned, gaze flickering away. "Fine," he mumbled, shifting to sit down on the floor, only to have Pony point to the couch.
Lips pursed into a childish pout, Johnny flopped down on the floor anyway, causing a muttering of annoyance to leave Pony's lips before the younger sat down across, scooting closer until their knees brushed. Leaning closer still, Pony reached up with the damp rag and started brushing it against the drying blood on Johnny's face.
It wasn't like this was anything new to Johnny—sure he's had people clean his injuries before—, but it was never as gently as Pony was doing it. Ponyboy always had a gentle touch though. Ran in the family.
Johnny swallowed, eyes darting everywhere, unsure where to look. After a moment he gave up, resting his gaze on the male in front of him, still handling him so gently—it would be an understatement to say Johnny felt like crying. He felt like downright sobbing, and he didn't know why.
Tears welling up in his eyes, he flinched away from Pony slightly, trying to play them off like he had touched a sensitive spot. "Sorry Johnny," the youngest whispered.
The raven haired shrugged it off, letting Pony start tending to his injuries once again. He sniffed slightly, subtly. He willed himself not to start crying in front of everyone, but after Pony had finished placing the last band-aid on his forehead—the brunet tugged him into a hug.
"'m sorry for fussin' over you. You just didn't look so great afterwards and—"
There were those fucking tears again. Someone cared. Someone cared about stupid ol' him—Johnny Cade. Kicked puppy, following anyone he could for shelter. Pony was still talking, but Johnny couldn't focus on anything but keeping himself from crying. He wasn't a stupid bawl baby, he wasn't.
He sucked in a breath, and wrapped his arms around Pony in return, burying his head in the crook of his shoulder, hoping that would help in disguising his failure. Water pricked the edges of his eyes and soon spilled out. Tears trailing rivulets down his face, he was suddenly pushed from the hug.
"Johnny? You okay?" Ponyboy asked, too loudly for the older's comfort, hands on his shoulders.
"What?" Johnny asked dumbly, reaching up to scrub at his eyes, trying to play it off as he sniffed again.
"Was it somethin' I said?" The words were asked weakly, concern creasing Pony's forehead as he stared.
"Kinda." Was all the response Johnny felt like giving, before leaning forward and resting his forehead on Pony's shoulder, breathing slowly.
". . . Thanks Pone."
Tumblr media
"Still pretty," Johnny murmured, a small smile gracing his features as he watched the sun drift down and into the unknown. It always felt like a privilege whenever he managed to catch the shifting colors, darkening into the night sky—or brightening into the daylight.
"Yeah," Pony dragged out his word slightly, sounding bored—Johnny knew he felt nothing of the sort though. Pony always got like this when he saw something pretty. Less focused on the world, and more focused on the beauty. "Real pretty," Pony added after a beat, probably snapping back to reality now that the sunset was dwindling on the last wisps.
Johnny nodded in agreement, shifting and bringing his knees to his chest, resting his chin on his knee. There was another moment of quiet between the friends. There always was. A silent agreement to let the buzz wear off—as Two-Bit had phrased it once. Somethin' pretty' always got you hyper ( but he had been drunk when he said it. when was he ever sober? well maybe with marcia ).
Johnny always figured they were just appreciating the lasts of the sunset though. Didn't like the relation to alcohol. As orange now faded into dark blue, Johnny let out a content sigh, closing his eyes slightly to relish the last memory of the sunset.
He opened his eyes when a chilly wind threaded through his hair, and he shivered. He never liked the cold; always had to be in it though.
"Real pretty," Pony repeated again, this time in a small, mindless whisper. He got the same response, a nod from Johnny, who glanced over at his friend from the corner of his eye—only to dart his gaze away the moment he noticed Pony was looking at him.
He was probably overreacting, right? There's no way Ponyboy Curtis just called him pretty. In a suave, subtle, cool way especially. Pony isn't suave. Right? Johnny reached up, rubbing at his eyes before dragging his hands down his face. He's going crazy for sure.
Sighing, Johnny leaned back, resting against the trashed car seat the lot always had. Pony scooted closer as he always did, now that the heat was fading and the cold was coming on.
"Cold?" A stupid question, he knew, but the silence was excruciating.
Pony answered with a low hum and Johnny's eyes flickered down, knowing that wasn't really an answer—but he didn't push it. Pony let out a small sigh, just as Johnny had done moments ago, and the younger leaned against Johnny slightly, eyes blinking closed.
"Heya Johnny."
"Yeah Pone?"
"You know I love you, right?"
"Yeah Pone."
Another hum. A tired one this time. "I mean it."
" . . . Yeah Pone. I love you too."
Pony let out a childish huff—when really he was disguising the nerves—and leaned up, turning slightly so he faced Johnny. "I mean it, Johnny. I do." His eyes were serious, not like the friendly 'i love you's they might've joked about a few times.
Johnny's mouth went dry. He was serious. The silence was deafening, but Johnny knew it was his fault. He should be responding, but he couldn't. He swallowed dryly, forcing his nerves down with it.
Pony said it. So it's alright. Right?
"Yeah Pone," He choked out for the millionth time too. "I love you too." Johnny knew he just repeated the words he had said before but with the way Pony's face lit up, he knew that Pony knew. It was genuine.
Pony reached over, and laced his fingers with Johnny's; lightly. With a glance up to make sure that was okay, the younger settled back down to closing his eyes and resting against Johnny.
A small grin adorned Johnny's features. They hadn't said anything else. But that'd be enough. Just for tonight.
A kiss to the head.
A squeeze of a hand.
The drifting of the breeze.
The stars blinking.
Johnny wouldn't have imagined anything more. Nothing perfect, because they weren't. They were them.
And that's all it took;
To fall in love.

12. A day at the beach, G, fiki, Same verse as an old fic of mine ‘let’s run away (don’t ever look back)
It was Bofur's idea to go to the beach.
"We'll cook up a few burgers and get some bottles of scrumpy, it'll be grand!" he'd said. It hadn't taken much to convince the rest of them. With the recent spate of bright sunny weather, a day at the beach sounds like a fine idea indeed.
So, after a hasty trip around Tesco where they stock up on burgers, sausages, buns, and an assortment of ciders and beers, Bofur, Bilbo, and Kili pile into Bilbo's Nissan Micra and head for the beach,—the secret beach that only the locals and students know about. With most of the campus away for the summer it should be relatively quiet, if they're lucky they might even have it all to themselves.
Kili sits in the backseat texting furiously while Bofur and Bilbo bicker about the music in the front. Bilbo has the aux however Bofur is insisting that since he's riding shotgun he should be the one choosing their beach day playlist. Bilbo stands strong however, insisting that as it's his car, he gets to choose. This has devolved into a battle to the musical death where only the first few seconds of a song is played before it's skipped over to the next one.
Kili pays little attention to them, his eyes are fixed on his phone as his thumbs fly over the buttons. He'd asked Fili if he wanted to come that morning and Fili had said yes, but hasn't responded since and Kili's freaking out a little bit. But not wanting to bombard Fili with a string of increasingly anxious messages, he's harassing Ori instead.
We're coming, relax. Ori texts. He's probably the most formal texter Kili knows, no one else uses all the right punctuation. Fili's working morning shift but we'll be along soon. A pause and then Ori adds, Save me a burger. :)
Kili looks up when Deftones suddenly blasts through the speakers at full volume, only to be quickly replaced by Ed Sheeran which elicits a pained groan from Bofur.
"Anything but that, please, save me!" he cries.
"Why don't you just put it on random?" Kili suggests. The two front windows are wound right down creating a wind tunnel that's whipping Kili's hair into his eyes and he tucks it behind his ears a couple times before tying it back into a ponytail.
Bilbo and Bofur both turn briefly in their seats to shoot him equally disappointed looks.
"Random, Kili? Really?" Bilbo says and tuts as he hits the indicator to turn left down a quiet country lane. Bofur scoffs in disdainful agreement.
Kili sighs. At least the two of them can agree on one thing at least. Even if that thing is judging him.
As they get closer to the beach, they start to see sand lining the edges of the road and the bramble hedges give way to wide open dunes dotted with patches of sea grass. Kili breathes in deeply, smelling the fresh, salty air and he feels content. It's a beautiful long summer's day and he doesn't have to do anything beyond spend it with his best friends and at some point he'll get to see Fili which makes his stomach lurch with happy butterflies.

Tumblr media
Drabble Challenge 9 is now officially open!
We are only playing Sat - Sun, so please come back on Tumblr to check it often. (From now on until Sun/Mon midnight whatever time you’re on)
RULES ARE THE SAME AS LAST TIME - PLEASE READ UNDER THE CUT:
STEP 1: Pick one of the following prompts:
Luprecalia
It's 3 a.m. but fuck it, we're being domestic.
Never have I ever...
The Consort and his King
Nectarines
"They will have to go through me."
Assembling IKEA furniture
Renting rooms from the locals
Valentines Day
“This isn’t going the way that I thought it would.”
Step 2: Write a quick response of at least 100 words (a classic drabble is 100 words, but whatever).
We won’t be counting, but the challenge here is to be concise, while having a clear link to the prompt you’re responding to. There is no upper limit, but remember the prompts get snatched pretty quick.
Fili/Kili or any fictional Dean/Aidan pairings, clearly mark your warnings etc.
Existing verses or brand new work are both fine.
Step 3: Refresh Tumblr and use the notes to check the last person that has reblogged this post with a response (IMPORTANT!)
Just ordinary reblogs to spread the word are ok (ignore those), but you’re looking specifically for the latest reblog that had a drabble added.
Step 4: Reblog from that person, adding your response. You also need to copy-paste the prompt list and REPLACE the one prompt you responded to with a brand new prompt (anything you like).
I.e. you claim one and you put one back. There are still 10 prompts.
Step 5: Format your post. Response text and updated prompts list MUST be hidden under the ‘Read more’ button.
Only 2 lines should be visible on the dashboard: 1) which prompt you’re claiming, pairing, rating, verse, possible warnings and 2) ‘Read more’.
Step 6: Tag your response: #Drabble Challenge 9 so that whoever wants to, can blacklist the whole event.
Next person:
Step 1: Find the latest reblog of this post with a response.
Step 2: Pick one of the prompts from the updated list (always find the latest reblog!)
Repeat Step 3, Step 4, Step 5, Step 6 etc. The list of prompts is forever evolving.
This event is meant to be snappy and fast, creating a caterpillar of reblogs, crawling all over your dashes.
How to resolve possible problems:
Two people writing responses at the same time for 2 different prompts from the same list. This is not a problem: So long as the second person responding finds the latest reblog, their prompt should still be available on the updated list. Only 1 prompt is replaced at a time.
Two people writing responses at the same time for the same prompt (AKA my prompt disappeared by now): Find the latest reblog, add your response and add your own prompt as number 11. From now on there are 11 prompts. However, this is meant to be snappy, so please don’t spend half a day writing 100 words…
Meanwhile, @linane-art will kick-start this, and provide the first example.
Have fun! Any questions - give us a shout. If it starts going wrong, there may be a mod reblog, setting it straight again.

The poem evokes human greatness and human vulnerability. People are “godlike” in their courage and skill, but even the greatest mortals fall and clutch the dust between their bloody fingers. The beautiful word minunthadios , “short-lived,” is used of both Achilles and Hector, and applies to all of us. We die too soon, and there is no adequate recompense for the terrible, inevitable loss of life. Yet through poetry, the words, actions, and feelings of some long-ago brief lives may be remembered even three thousand years later.
--Emily Wilson's introduction to the Iliad
#so. we've come to the Iliad section in my Early World Literature class. and in that context we're utilizing the public domain translation by#A. S. Kline which made me think: you know what would be extremely fucking cool? since I'm going to have access to the Kline text until#the course closes in December. why don't I at least start the Wilson version and see how the two translations differ? so I'm now reading#The Iliad#as translated by Wilson and performed by the utterly masterful Audra McDonald. or well. I _would be except I'm so delighted. stunned. by#the incisive thought-provokingness of her introduction I keep needing to pause and write down various quotes: just this whole idea of#the poem revolving around how all all our deaths shall come too soon and there is no adequate compensation for that awful fact just FUCK#linguistics#mythology#folklore#fairy tales#lit geekery#book babbling#(oh I am already so fucking deep in this fannish hell and I haven't even really started her translation: like the Kline one is fine. but#it's very focused on *trying* to be Homeric you know? so there are all these very archaic references ala to Apollo#as Smintheus. which I then have to stop and look up oh. that means he's the mouse god and being the mouse god is important because#it ties back to him being an oracular god. which is then why the Greeks want to turn to another oracular god when he gets all pissy at them#and on one level. learning that mice were associated with the power of prophecy? extremely cool shit. on the other. well I have to#read a large chunk of this text in a fucking week Kline my good bud was it really necessary to provide an odd mouse reference I then#needed to find the context for *myself* I can already tell Wilson's tendency to provide context. both in the intro and just in general#wanting to make it readable terms will make this so! much easier of an introduction. (Kline. by contrast. would be really fucking cool if#you were a third-time reader and wanted all the marvelous nuance. just *rubs forehead* not a great intro when you're only focusing on#this text for a fucking week)

Every now and then I remember the times I would mention to my flatmate that I was thinking of buying myself something reasonably expensive (that I had been eyeing up for months and had budgeted for) and she'd tell me that I shouldn't spend that much money on something I didn't need and it would be stupid etc etc while she regularly impulse bought things that cost at least as much and she would use once (while complaining that she was under a lot of financial stress and couldn't afford <$3/week for 2 months for a rental washing machine when ours broke). She is... perhaps not my first call for financial advice
#like I get that you're financially stressed but also it feels a bit rich to complain about it when you're on student allowance (not loan)#and your parents still contribute to things for you even though allowance is supposed to be for people whose parents can't afford to help#and you get multiple scholarships a year even though you're technically not eligible for half of them anymore but then as soon as the money#comes in from those you spend it all on a brand new dress for your sister's hen's do picnic because you can't wear the same dress as you#will for the actual hen's night or the wedding. Better buy a full price one at an expensive store instead of looking in a single op shop or#borrowing one from one of your three sisters who are all roughly the same size#god life must be so tough for you getting the same amount of money as the rest of us on student loan except you only have to pay back half#like the only money you have to live off is the same as what the rest of us get + scholarships (plural) plus what you earnt in your summer#internship? how could you possibly survive??#anyway I am NOT a fan of people who are like 'oh you say you have no money for rent but you have a phone?' because that's bullshit#and the whole 'millenials need to stop eating avocado toast so they can buy a house' thing is also bullshit#however. If you pay $60/week for a gym when you have access to the free uni one (or any other gym in the country is like $20)#and you buy uber eats multiple times a week for like $30+ each time despite having a premade meal in the fridge. and you get multiple#scholarships which mean you are arguably among the more well off students. AND you impulse buy things that cost over $100 regularly#then maybe the problem is not that you don't have enough money to split the rental costs of a washing machine (<$3 each/week)#maybe you are just bad with money#which is fine like it's not like it's unfixable it's just annoying when you act like you're worse off than people whose only money is what#they get from student loan each week so they eat beans on rice for dinner for a week#because that's all they could afford (yes I know people who did this. Yes she complained more than them)#so no I don't think I'm gonna be taking financial advice from you babes because one of us has entertained the idea of a budget to help with#finances and it's not you xx#(she turned down offers of financial help/advice/books to borrow from multiple people multiple times. I 100% get that you might not want to#talk to people about it especially your friends but we had multiple books on finances lying around the flat which she always said she didn't#need. And then she'd continue to complain that she didn't have enough money#god forbid you suggest something like going to a cheaper gym (or worse. The perfectly fine free uni gym!)#again. Her gym cost $60/week for most of last year until they brought in a student discount which was 'only' $45/week#the next most expensive gym chain I can find costs maybe $30/week for the highest membership level#to get what she was getting she would only need like a $20 membership#BUT to be fair she wouldn't get such strong culty vibes at any other gym#lol anyway sorry for the rant. I could keep going but apparently you can only have 30 tags and this is the last one

₊˚ෆ HOW TOJI DEALS WITH OTHER MEN LIKING YOU <3
Tw- breeding, mentions of violence (not towards you), video recording. Not proofread
Tumblr media
“Nuh uh don't hide this fucking pussy, show him how much you're creamin’ on my cock, don’t go all shy on me darling”. Toji laughed mockingly, his large hand effortlessly clasping both of your wandering wrists above your head to prevent any escape while using your phone to zoom in on the icky view of the mess between your mellowed thighs.
A streak of milky wetness glistened all over his massive cock, cascading down to his aching balls that were being captured in the filthy mess anyways because of how it's continuously slamming against your asshole that was coated with the cream that seeped out your gooey cunt.
"Fuck yeah, ya see that? See how this cute little pussy is wetting my dick? She sure as hell must be fucking loving it to be making this hell of a mess," he declared proudly. His deep, husky laugh resonated throughout the room, leaving no doubt that Toji was most likely losing his mind over the situation.
A few minutes earlier you told him about the guy from your class who confessed his feelings to you and you’re very uncertain about how to respond so you asked your boyfriend for some advice and well he decided to matters into his own hands.
“Tojii.. l-let go!” You cried out, attempting to dig your nails into his wrists as if that would make any difference, considering how fucking strong he is that it made your efforts almost laughably worthless.
“Nah don't think I want to darling, this fucker needs to know who the hell you belong to” he gritted his teeth at the thought of the guy even having the audacity to think you'd date him. You're all his and he would go to extreme lengths to ensure it remains that way.
The two of you were undeniably meant for each other and there was no fucking way in hell Toji would let some random fucker take you away from him.
“You wish this was you huh? Too fucking bad it's all mine to stuff and fuck, she belongs to me. Keep texting her and I’ll find you and bash your stupid fucking head in. Ya hear me?”. His brutal words cut through the air with a sharp edge, conveying possessiveness and veiled threats. It reverberated loudly, ensuring every detail was captured in the recording that the guy will be listening to soon after this.
His voice was deeper and harsher than normal, making your little cunt flutter even more around his stiffened shaft.
Which he obviously picked up on. “Ohhh you're such a slutty fucking whore baby, who am I kidding.” his grip on your bruised hands tightened. Threatening to leave more red, angry marks as he buckled his hips harshly into your ruined pussy. The force of his hips as he pushed into you aggressively showed literally no mercy.
“You’ll never fucking leave me, you're too fucking obsessed that your little cunt is twitching around me to the thought of me killing another man for you huh?”.
“N-no—” you stammered, turning your head away to look the other direction which made his grin widen even more as he playfully licked the faded scar on his lips because it had always been an indication of you lying whenever you looked away from him like that.
“Aww, that's fine doll," he murmured softly, his gaze unwavering as he directed the phone towards your fucked out face. His body sank deeper, inching downwards until his face hovered mere inches from your own. "you know what I'm thinking?”.
You peered your eyes at him and held contact in sheer curiosity.
“I’ll just breed this pretty fucking pussy and fuck a baby into you, how's that sound? Huh? You'll be such a good Mommy to our kid” his breath is now fanning against your face. Your body quivered at the thought, a deep longing stirring within you.
The thought of his suggestion made you moan, not just a normal moan. There's no particular way to describe it but the thought of that made your mind blurry and hazed. You and Toji always talked about having children in a few years but there's no harm in one now.
His possessiveness drove you crazy. Sure you knew Toji wasn’t a saint or an angel because at the end of the day, he murdered people for a living and because of that alone— he knew about the lonesome dangers of the world so he’s extremely overprotective and you’d loved every bit of it.
The thought of Toji even thinking you’d leave him for anyone else was an insult towards you because both of you were perfect for each other in every way possible.
“Y-yes! yes please, wanna carry your baby!” you babbled over and over, nodding your head like some stupid bitch as he proudly smirked at your reaction in amusement. “Yeah? Want me to make you a mommy? Get you pregnant so you'll be all full and swollen? Then everyone is gonna fucking know who you belong to”. The glint in Toji’s eyes was so dark, that it almost had you scared for a moment.
“Yesyesyes, please, m’so desperate Toji, fill me up–” you whimpered, tears glistening in your eyes as you pleaded fervently.
“Yeah fuck that, y’know what—” he mumbled to himself with a brief pause to stop the recording on his phone and swiftly hitting the "send" button to the guy that’s currently and patientlyyy waiting for your response in the chat. He casually tossed the device to the side and embraced you tightly, his strong arms enveloping you and wrapped around your neck to hug you before vigorously slamming his hips into you in an intense pace.
Unfortunately, the poor guy never had the chance to witness the adorable blessing you and Toji shared several months later because your boyfriend assassinated him on his way home the very next afternoon because he tried to speak to you again in person.

you're sweating when you wake up, skin sticking painfully to your bedsheets as your bleary eyes dart around, attempting to make focus of your surroundings. the room is still dark, barely touched by the slight bit of moonlight that attempts to peak through the closed windows—defiant. it takes a minute to realize that the sounds that are breaking the silence are actually coming from your own throat—breathy, wheezing gasps of terror.
your stomach drops when your fingers grip cold and empty fabric. he's gone he's gone he's go—
"what are you doing up, pretty?"
your head snaps to the doorway. satoru stands there, sweats hanging low on his hips even as his hand remains curled around a glass of water. his hair is tousled with sleep, but his cerulean eyes are sharp and lively.
as soon as he sees the panic lacing your expression, his eyes widen, long legs practically tripping over themselves as he stumbles towards you.
"what happened?" he asks sharply, frantically placing the cup on the bedside table to take your face into his palms. shades of blue dart back and forth across your features as he perches one knee on the mattress and peers down at you. "are you okay?"
his touch sends electricity through your veins—a splash of ice water pulling you away from that painful reverie.
your heart both clenches and soars, the idea of what you saw being terrifying, and yet finding out it wasn't true being that much more relieving.
"i just—" your voice comes out choked, and satoru's fingers twitch against your skin imperceptibly. "had a bad dream."
you think your brain must be cruel for conjuring up a dream in which satoru could suffer to such abhorrent extents.
"oh sweets." satoru's sigh is sympathetically soft, thumb brushing over the apple of your cheek just barely. "it was just a nightmare."
"i know," you swallow, voice shaking. there's an uncharacteristic wetness pooling at your waterline. "i-it just felt so real."
"baby..." satoru immediately pulls you against the steady planes of his chest, thick arms snaking around your waist to eliminate any measly amount of distance between you two. you prop your chin on his shoulder, sighing as you feel his snowy hair tickling at your cheek.
"it wasn't real, sweetheart," he says, pulling back just slightly to push a piece of hair from your face. his thumb then drags under your eyes, wiping away the unshed tears. "see. you're here, i'm here. everything's all good."
"yeah." you're nodding, unable to take your eyes off of him because he's real and alive and so breathtakingly perfect. "yeah, you're right."
he gives you a lopsided smile, eyes bright and glowing. "i don't like to brag, but i usually am."
you snort out a laugh, missing the way his expression turns pleased at the sound. "hilarious. you love to brag."
"you got me there," he shrugs, grinning as you stick your tongue out at him. the lighthearted banter solidifies the fact that satoru is fine and unharmed and completely yours, but you can still feel the apprehension coursing through your veins. chills run up your spine—you try not to show it.
but of course, satoru has always been able to see right through you.
his teasing smile goes soft, and he inhales deeply.
"was it about me?" he asks, climbing into bed next you. you lay back down carefully.
"yeah," you mumble, watching him tug the blankets over your body and tuck you both under a cocoon of warmth.
"hm." something in his tone tells you he's not unfamiliar with the feelings you seem to be experiencing—his body shifts closer to yours. ocean eyes carefully asses you, deep and calculating and so concerned even as he smoothes a warm palm over your shoulder blades. "wanna tell me what happened?"
the truth is you do want to, because satoru has always understood you better than you've ever understood yourself—you have no doubt he'd be able to comfort you just as well as he normally does.
and yet...
"no," you answer, pressing your nose into his neck. a deep breath in, the lively scent that is so inherently your gojo satoru filling your very soul. "it's okay. i think i'll be fine."
when you shut your eyes, images flash behind them—of bloodied bodies and stitches and swapped souls. yet a chaste kiss to your forehead pulls you back to where you're supposed to be, warm and grounding.
"i know you'll be fine," satoru murmurs, lips tickling your brow as he speaks. you think you can hear the gentle smile as he says it, and your grip on him tightens—never letting go. "i'm right here after all."

"Really?" Toji asks, nudging your shoulder to wake you up, when he gets a good look at your back turned to him. His voice is slightly raspy with sleep, low in volume from its lack of use.
"Mm..." you hum in response, eyes shut as you try to ease back into slumber. You're in a curled position, your limbs wrapped around one of your extra pillows.
"Really?" Toji repeats, pawing at your shoulder, again.
"Yes, Toji," you say, quietly, not understanding what he's talking about, but agreeing just so that you can get back to sleep.
"Be serious, ma. Really?"
"What?" You ask, your tone somewhat laced with irritation, now.
It goes quiet for a few seconds, and then out of nowhere you hear the sheets rustling and the bed feels lighter. You're thinking there's no way he's so upset that he's leaving the room to sleep on the couch. He's the one who seemingly didn't want to cuddle, so you made do with what you had and grabbed a pillow.
You're snapped out of your attempt to go back to sleep when you feel your pillow trying to be yanked out of your arms.
"Let go of it," Toji mutters.
"What-" you grunt as you pull back and attempt to keep the pillow in your grasp. "What are you doing? Get back in bed, Toji." You hold on as tight as you can to the pillow that is slowly being torn out of your hands. "You're not gonna like when I let go and you're flung towards the wall."
"And you're not gonna like the punishment you earn if that happens. Let go of the pillow. Now."
You stare Toji down, holding your own against him. You know this isn't all of his strength and that he can easily rip the pillow out of your clutches, if he really wanted to, but like a dog with something it shouldn't have in its mouth, you're unwilling to do what he says.
"Listen up, doll, if you don't let go in the next five seconds, you're in for it."
"You're the one who pushed me away."
"Five."
"I need to hug something to sleep comfortably."
"Four."
"It's a pillow, Toji," you say, incredulously.
"Three."
"You're gonna take away my source of comfort?"
"Two."
"Toji."
"One. Let go."
"Oh my god," you groan, irritatedly. "Fine." You release the pillow, allowing Toji to take it away. You watch in disbelief as he throws it at the door so you can't get it without leaving the bed. You huff and scoot as close as you comfortably can to your end of the bed without falling off, before he returns to his side.
"Geeet back here." An arm is thrown over your waist, dragging you closer towards the center of the bed, until your back meets his front and his legs are tangled with yours. "Where are you going, huh? Still chasing after that pillow?"
"All of a sudden you wanna be close to me?" You scoff, in disbelief.
"So much attitude," he murmurs. His hand goes under your shirt, gliding up your warm skin to rest on your tummy. "Need me to give it to you all seven days, now?"
"No," you grumble.
"Well, that's what it's sounding like, to me." A kiss is planted on your shoulder. "Fix that tone, mama."
"You're so unfair. You're the one who didn't want to be held, but as soon as you noticed that I wasn't holding you, you took away my source of comfort. What did you want me to do, Toji?"
"I didn't even push you away, I rolled away in my sleep. It doesn't count."
You just hum in response, no longer in the mood to bicker about something so trivial when you could be working on getting back to sleep. A few seconds of silence go by, a spark of tension formed due to your lack of words.
"Ma?" He calls, barely pinching your soft, warm skin.
You sigh, blinking your eyes open. "What?"
"You mad?" His hand flattens on your tummy, rubbing slowly, as he waits for you to respond.
"No," you say, quiet and icy, even in its subtlety.
"That's a lie," Toji says, chuckling. "Come on, doll. What's got you all hot?"
It's hard not to melt into his touch. The kisses he presses to your shoulder only add on to the difficulty.
"Doesn't matter," you say, still trying to remain stoic.
"Yeah, it does. Now, tell me," he insists. "You're really gonna make me beg at almost two in the morning?"
"I was sleeping, and you woke me up 'cause you were butthurt over me hugging a pillow. There. Does that satisfy you?" You respond, and Toji has the audacity to laugh. You want to laugh too, but your stubbornness and pride will not easily allow you to.
"Poor baby," he coos, a mocking lilt to his tone. "You wanna tell me how to make it better?"
"You're an ass," you bite, no sharpness in your tone whatsoever.
"Ooh, I can hear that pout. You want a kiss? 'Cause I can give you one," he whispers, in your ear.
"Shut up," you mumble, trying not to give away the curling of your lips.
"You want a baby in here?" He asks, gently pressing into your stomach with his index finger.
"No! What?" You say, your giggles finally beginning to surface.
"Gotcha. Made you laugh," he says, pressing his face into the nape of your neck. He presses a kiss to the area before squeezing you in his arms, tight enough to make you groan until he eases up. "Now, tell me how to make it better. Come on, ma. It's not good to go to sleep mad."
You sigh, not wanting to argue with this annoying, yet, charming man, anymore. "Just help me get back to sleep," you mumble.
"Oh, I can do that," he says, a low chuckle homing into your ears. His hand lifts your shirt up more, aiming to get more access to your chest.
"Not like that, you perv!" You chide, pinning his hand on your mid-center. "Can you do that thing you always do?" You guide his hand down, until it rests just above your navel. He knows what you mean, and if this is what it takes for you to not be mad at him, he'll do it.
"You're like a baby that needs to be soothed to sleep," Toji murmurs, as he begins caressing your tummy, drawing little shapes on your skin that fuel your tiredness.
You huff out a laugh. "Acting like you don't drool and snore the second I start playing with your hair when you lay your head on my chest."

Alhaitham ;
Kaveh gaped at you when you brought a cat into the house, one that… looked eerily similar to a certain blockhead. “I can explain,” you say as you set the cat down on the floor, he doesn’t enter the house further than you do, instead sitting down by your feet and observing the interaction with… interest? Amusement…?
Kaveh didn’t need much to be convinced, and immediately he thanked the Archons for giving him a few days of respite. Even just a few days of Alhaitham being unable to comment on what he does or nag him is a blessing.
For you, it’s a bit of a hassle… because he keeps disappearing! Not in an alarming way, because you find him again in the most secluded, quiet spots you would never even think of. Under your laundry, in an empty box that Kaveh hadn’t put away after getting a delivery, and even under the desk in the study—Kaveh accidentally kicked him and got a feisty scratch on his ankle. He learned his lesson.
He follows you around and—though he let you pick him up the first time—doesn’t let you carry him around, preferring to walk on his own… and wander off to explore nooks and crannies he has never been able to see, but he always shows up again before you reach your destination.
He has also claimed your pillow as his own and refuses to let you use it, loafing on top of it exactly when you thought you could get there before him. Which… in hindsight is fine, you’re not opposed to using his pillow, it smells like him after all.
You decided to test how much of a cat he really is, whether it’s appearance alone or instinctual as well and bought a cat toy with a whisker on the end as well as a small bell below it. You expected him to perk up and try to whack or catch it as soon as you wriggled it beside him… but his grey furred ears just lowered in annoyance and he hopped off the kitchen counter, it seems like having even more sensitive ears in this state makes his dislike for uncomfortable noises more intense.
He forgave you when you spent ten minutes scratching the itchy spot behind his ears after tracking him down. A small, rumbling purr left his chest as you moved your hand to scratch under his chin—he was, however, more curious about this instinctual reaction and demanded you continue after you drew your hand back.     Despite it being very much an unspoken rule between the two of you that neither of you should be disturbed ‘needlessly’ when reading or working at home, when you borrowed a few books from the Akademiya to try and figure out how to turn your partner back to normal, Alhaitham decided it would be very reasonable for him to lay down over your book… which you are very much trying to read.
But when you ask him what he needs, he just blinks at you three times, very slowly. You’ll likely never be able to crack that brain of his, even in a form that is somehow far more expressive.
Tumblr media
Arataki Itto ;
It’s difficult enough to keep track of him—and keep him out of trouble—on a normal day… now? You took your eyes off him for a second, and he’s gone. Shinobu split up with you to cover more ground while the rest of the gang scoured the streets of Inazuma City, at least as much as they could.
You peek between baskets, crates and stalls, walk through tight alleys and even squint into a few windows… nothing!
You had been very close to giving up and returning back to the meeting point by the bridge… until you heard a very distressed, very loud meowing. Following the sound, you come to a tree stretching over the gardens of a teahouse. What looks to be the owner of it stands below the tree with a basket, trying to ask Itto—stuck up on a wobbling branch—to jump into it.
Exasperation is one way to describe what you feel as you approach the old lady, you put your hands on your hips and Itto notices you immediately. His meowing turns from frantic and panicked… to a sheepish pleading. Every movement he makes causes the branch to sway and wobble, and it looks like it could easily bend and break—and you don’t want to cause any trouble for the teahouse owner. “Itto, come on, hop down.”
He meows and shakes his head, white fur swishing dramatically.
A sigh leaves you as you step closer and hold your arms open. “I’ll catch you, trust me,” you encourage him… and he finally relents, with wobbling paws, he leaps from the branch—fur shining in the sun as he practically flies in the air towards your open arms… and lands on your head. He panics and tries to adjust and not fall off, and you try to pry him away from your face as his belly nearly suffocates you—it’s a scene from a comedic play.
Shinobu is glad for her mask, because when you return with Itto under your arm you have scratches on your face and forehead, and Itto is whining and meowing sorrowfully.
He spends the entire evening licking your ‘wounds’, dragging his coarse cat tongue over every spot so often that the licking starts to become more painful than the scratches themselves. But you let him, it makes him feel much better than you—and you don’t particularly need comfort, but if he doesn’t get it, he will whine all night.
So you let him knead your thighs and stomach even as his claws prick through your clothes and you make sure to pet him and stroke his fur when he snuggles against you… and then you wake up in the middle of the night, suffocating with his furred belly against your face when the lies on top of you.
Tumblr media
Baizhu ;
You’re very happy that Baizhu is catching a break—something you often try to convince him to do—despite the strange way of being forced into it… however, it’s very difficult to focus on running the pharmacy in his place by yourself while also trying to make sure he doesn’t roll off the shelf he’s napping on… especially because Changsheng wriggles in her sleep and keeps nudging him closer to the edge.
You decide it’s easier if you have them sleeping on separate surfaces and reach up to pick up your pliant partner-turned-cat. He effectively falls into your arms and blinks lazily, slightly confused by the sudden transport. “Just moving you so you don’t hit your head,” you dodge around Qiqi as she runs past you with an armful of jars and set Baizhu down on the counter, his tail sways lazily and he immediately flops on his side as a beam of sunlight sneaks through the window and directly onto his fur.
Every time a customer comes by—with approval—they give Baizhu a small pet or scratch before leaving, as if paying tribute to the good doctor. He doesn’t seem to mind.
Unfortunately, you’re not fit to take Baizhu’s place for consultations, and thus they all get delayed—which was a hell of a lot of work to contact everyone and change scheduling—until Baizhu is back to normal. The usual hours of consultation in the morning are therefore replaced with longer opening hours of the pharmacy and by pulling some strings, an increased stock of rarer products at a discounted price.
Changsheng does not let poor Baizhu catch a break, she wiggles her tail and swipes it in front of his paws, and unable to control the feline instincts harbouring his body—Baizhu chases after her tail like a kitten playing with a toy. He whacks at it and tries to capture it, but the white snake is far quicker than even you expected her to be as a sudden game of cat and mouse (snake) takes over your living room.
The feline form, however, doesn’t come with free stamina—and Baizhu is not in good shape. He flops down on the carpet, exhausted from the play even as only seven minutes have passed. You feel a bit bad and scoop him up for some cuddling, which seems to be just the remedy he needed.
Baizhu is very careful around the clinic, he doesn’t knock anything over—even though he REALLY wants to sometimes, and is mindful of not getting fur or saliva on anything that could potentially be consumed by anyone with allergies. Changsheng has taken to wrapping herself around your shoulders instead, and though you’re used to her, it’s a little annoying to get a comment on every little thing you do.
But at the end of the day, Baizhu curls up next to you and you wake with him lying over your chest, belly to the skies and paws in the air, comfortable and content. Though you will always prefer him in his normal state, he is very cute like this.
Tumblr media
Cyno ;
You look around the large front hall of the House of Daena, panting slightly as you try to catch your breath… that damn Cyno! Making you chase him across the entire city!
You spot some pawprints and squint as you look around… he’s not bringing all that dirt into the house—you were just going to rinse him a bit, but he’s run off! You finally spot dark and creamy coloured fur… perched up high on a massive decorative piece of the wall. He looks down at you with a swaying tail, completely at ease knowing that you won’t be able to catch him all the way up there.
You almost consider inquiring about one of those massive ladders the library has to reach the high shelves, it might be long enough…
But very well, he wins this round.
Once he turned into a cat, you were very excited about petting him, rubbing his ears and stroking his tail—but he’s not having any of it. Sometimes, you wonder if someone stuck a firework in his ass and lit it up, because the bouts of zoomies he gets is so frequent you wondered if there was something wrong—but you couldn’t catch him to take to a vet either!
After the first few days, Cyno seems to calm down… a little. He still prefers to survey the area (your living room) from above (your bookshelf) and watch you go about your day. It’s quite cute how his perked ears twitch every time you make a noise, as if he’s completely focused on what you’re doing.
You soon find out after stepping a bit too close to the bookshelf that he might have just been waiting to strike, because he leaps onto your head as soon as you’re in range.
The only reason you know he’s fully conscious in that furred head is because while you were cleaning up after dinner, you spotted him sitting next to a cup of tea that was half-filled. You tense as you watch his paw raise to knock it off. “Cyno! Don’t,” you try to sound scolding.
He looks up at you, he lowers his paw… then raises it again, making you glare at him. He lowers it again, turns away… you turn back to wiping the dishes and look over your shoulders after a few seconds—his paw is raised again!
This back and forth continued until he finally knocked it over.
And then he has the audacity during the next day’s dinner to sound like he has never been fed in his life while you’re trying to eat in peace. Meowing at you so loudly one would think he was terribly injured, eyes wide and mouth open. You hope your neighbours don’t think you’re trying to starve him, or treat him horribly.
Tumblr media
Dainsleif ;
He’s not happy about it, he has things to do—places to be and investigations to make. Thankfully you’re familiar with where you were going next… but Dainsleif is very limited in what he can do. You decide to give him the task of scouting and sneaking around, something he’s used to doing anyway… but he finds that it’s much more effective to do so as a cat. His footsteps are completely silent and his senses are much sharper.
Though, he had an instinctual need to swat at a glowing orb that you found in a strange vault half-buried in a cave in Fontaine before he could stop himself—which closed the two of you inside the vault. Thankfully he is now small enough that he could slip out between the bars and unlock it from the other side.
It is quite cute how his ears flattened as you walked out, as if he was sorry. Though he seemed okay after you scratched behind his ears and assured him it was okay, he was here to help you out after all! His tail swayed in satisfaction to your assurance.
You start to set down camp for the night, having just one pair of hands makes it a bit more of a lengthy process, and Dainsleif can only sit and watch as you put it together. He’s usually quite distant, even in a relationship—but as you straighten from squatting to fit something down, you feel something press against your leg and see him rubbing his furry cheek against you, then walking around your legs, tail trailing behind.
He’s usually quite wary and alert, even during the night when you try and convince him to sleep—and it’s no different now. He sits poised and ready… for what? He’s a cat. But you appreciate the effort.
Surprisingly, he’s very active at grooming himself, the two of you usually have to bathe often anyway as you frequent dusty caves and muddy backwaters, but every time you make a stop, he sits down and starts licking his fur—at first you wondered if he was frustrated by something or had hurt himself, but as you picked him up to examine for any injuries or strange patches, he just blinked at you, tongue still half-hanging out.
Dainsleif is rather laid-back when it comes to your relationship, there are times where you want to stay in a larger city for a few days or weeks in between travels, to have a soft bed and four walls around you—which Dainsleif doesn’t mind, there are places he wants to look into where he’d prefer you are safe elsewhere. He knows where you will be and will stop by to ask if you’re ready to continue days or even sometimes a few weeks later, to which you—recharged and rejuvenated—jump at the chance to follow him out of the city.
But now, as a cat, he doesn’t leave your side for a minute—not even when you need to use nature’s bathroom. You went into a small village in Sumeru when passing through and a vendor was particularly pressing about selling you some type of perfume that you had shown brief interest in—Dainsleif had enough of you being pestered and whacked his paw at the man’s leg, hissing. He would usually be more subtle about guiding you away, but he doesn’t have the presence he usually does as he is now, so he must utilise the aggressiveness given to him in feline form. You take the chance to scoop him up and hurry away before the vendor can get upset, petting between his ears and thanking him for the help—he rubs his cheek against yours. He’s surprisingly more affectionate like this as well.
Tumblr media
Diluc ;
Your nose itches… you try to hold back—achoo!!
Diluc jumps, claws scuttling against the ground and he leaps from his resting spot and hops down to the floor. You sniffle and shake your head. “Sorry, it’s not your fault,” you stand from his chair and round the table to squat down next to him, reaching a hand out. “Did I startle you?”
He makes a ‘hmph’ sound, fur red as freshly bloomed roses. Diluc bumps his snout into your palm and huffs into it, you turn your hand and pet along his back. “Aaah… you’re so cute~ so soft,” you near coo as you scratch behind his ears—
Diluc shakes himself and ducks under your hand to walk past you—how dare you baby-talk him?! He’s not an actual cat! The scritches felt too nice, and his ears flicked when you cooed at him—it’s embarrassing…
He sits down by the door, tail swaying lazily as a small meow leaves him. Let me out.
You pout, how can you not convey how cute he is? You want to rub his cheeks. But fine, you  walk over and open the door for him to slip out of.
Diluc likes the lounge around the fireplace in the estate, there’s not much work he can do  while you try to figure out how to turn him back—preferably without alerting his brother or any of the knights… or just anyone in general. Unfortunately, he can’t hide it from the staff of the Winery as he is a spitting image of himself in cat form, and you’ve caught more than three people trying to feed him expensive cheeses.
It’s only in the recent days that you’ve convinced him to settle down and use the time to rest and nap as much as he can, but Diluc was extremely restless at first, you had to trap him inside a room and trick him into lying down with you.
One day, Jean came by looking for him, and you had to think fast to come up with an excuse while he had just leapt under the sofa to hide. Thankfully, she didn’t seem to need him urgently, so she just left a message behind and went back to her day.
You fell asleep in Diluc’s study, trying to keep up with his paperwork—Adeline offered to help you, she’s very familiar with his work, and it’s not like it’s been a long time since he wasn’t there to do it… but you wanted to help, and as the sun sank below the horizon, you laid down on the sofa in his study next to a tall bookcase—only closing your eyes was enough to pull you into deep sleep.
Diluc hops onto the sofa next to you, he carefully walks over your thighs and settles on the armrest where your head is. His fluffy tail sways and strokes your chin and nose—nearly waking you as you almost sneeze, you don’t have to work so hard for him, he knows you want to help. He wishes he could tell you, and he will, when he’s back to normal. For now, he rests alongside you, head leaning against the top of yours and tail tucked against your neck.
Tumblr media
Kaedehara Kazuha ;
Kazuha is a very chill cat, he doesn’t get into trouble, he doesn’t cough hairballs on the floor and he doesn’t knock things over.
(Instead of coughing hairballs on the floor he swats them off-deck with his paws, Beidou caught him doing it once).
There’s not much trouble to get into on the ocean, and he’s rather good at keeping out of trouble overall on land, sticking by his side is a sureway to a boring day of exploration or lounging around—which is your perfect type of day.
You help him into your bag as the Crux ‘boards’ by Liyue Harbour (it stops a bit away and tucked by a cliffside to avoid attention) and you make sure he doesn’t accidentally fall into the ocean as a few crewmates row to land. You’re stopping for a few days, so you make sure to use the time to relax and take in landside air and wander around the expansive Harbour.
Kazuha likes to take life at a slower pace, and thus your walk to the Harbour took longer than you expected… as you thought Kazuha was doing his normal meditation on a warm, sun-kissed rock along the road…
But he was asleep, sitting up and enjoying the sun. It took you thirty minutes to realise—a sitting cat with its eyes closed and a sleeping cat in a sitting position is the exact same.
He very much likes to people-watch, but in this cat form, he seems even more engaged—he can hear sounds more clearly and he seems even more perceptive than usual. Watching a tea maker brew a cup on a teahouse table you had sat by to rest and ordered some snacks. He sniffs at the tea as it’s placed in front of you—he’s perched comfortably on your lap, you’re surprised the teahouse even allows him inside—and seems to appreciate the detail he gets from this new perspective, af if it smells different in this form.
He tries to taste it and your food, but you have to block his snout with your hand, you’re not sure if the food you were having would give him a stomach ache or not.
On a walk on the outskirts of the city, you look back and see Kazuha carrying a stick in his mouth…?
He’s not a dog, so you’re not entirely sure why he’s doing it, maybe cats do that too? The dogs that hang around the bridge leading to the southeast outside of Liyue Harbour try to approach him with the stick, thinking he was playing, but he hops into a tree to keep it to himself. You’re not entirely sure what’s happening, but he seems to be having fun.
Kazuha wanders off oftentimes, just in his normal, usual body… so you’re not sure why you’re surprised when you suddenly find him missing from your side—perhaps it’s because he’s a cat and you’re unsure if he can defend himself as well in that form, but you hurry to look for him.
You practically run in circles until you find him pressing his paw to a brown, crusty leaf… again and again, as if listening to the crunch of it in a rhythm. You sigh and scoop him up into your arms. “Don’t wander off like this,” you scold and poke his nose. Kazuha sneezes from the poke, but blinks up at you and nods his little furry head.
Tumblr media
Kaeya ;
Unbothered, in his element. Kaeya sleeps in your windowsill and bathes in the sunlight all day while you scratch your head over how this could’ve happened. You try to leave for work and he practically screeches at the door, likely pleading you not to leave—he does that normally as well, except without the loud meowing.
Kaeya finds appreciation in the flexibility and grace that comes with this new body, he easily leaps up on shelves and dives under the sofa, he chases flakes of dust and seems to be having quite a good time—perhaps it’s because he has no responsibilities in this form, he can’t go to work like this and has no control over it. And the loss of control is strangely freeing.
You scoop him up into your arms and his tail swishes happily, he grabs his claws into your shirt and purrs as you rub his ears, happy and content with the additional affection. He loves all affection he gets from you no matter what form it takes, and being a cat has given him the opportunity to be pampered in ways he never could experience as a human.
He does need his free time as well and he uses it well while you’re out of the house—though you were very optimistic to think that closing the windows would keep him contained, Kaeya easily flips the handles and slips out of your home. He enjoys the attention he gets from any passersby, but is careful not to be too affectionate and get picked up by someone who thinks he’s a stray.
His usual guarded front lowers in this form, he feels like he could slip out of any situation—and he doesn’t have to be careful with his words or actions. No one expects a cat to have alternative intentions.
He jumps up in surprise as he hears footsteps rapidly approaching—he had fallen asleep on a ledge and the sun was already down. Kaeya blinks as you pick him up, breath heaving. “There you are, I’ve looked everywhere for you! I thought something happened when I couldn’t find you around the plaza,” you sigh a breath of relief and practically crush him to your chest. Kaeya wriggles a little but gives up and nuzzles into you, pushing his forehead into your cheek.
After a number of days, Kaeya gets bored, as fun as lounging around and being pampered it… he misses real food, and dragging you away from your work to have lunch—and holding you properly, he can only lay on top of you like this, which doesn’t exactly feel like holding.
And Kaeya being restless… he gets whiny.
He would usually be more subtle, but now that he feels the rush of freedom his feline form gives him, he uses it to protest by loafing on your clothes after you fold them to put away, laying over your lap when you need to get up—even though he’s not really a cat… kind of, you still get the same feeling of not wanting to move him off no matter how much space he’s taking.
But that’s okay, because he just has to slow blink at you and nuzzle into your hand and you forgive him, how could you not?
Tumblr media
Kamisato Ayato ;
Ayato is an unreasonably pretty cat. His fur is soft and silky, he has this… smug kitty-smile at all times, and it makes you want to pinch his ears. He sits on your lap and peeks onto the low table inside his study as you go through paperwork. Just because he’s become a cat doesn’t mean his workload just miraculously lessens.
Thankfully, after a few days of trying to juggle his work—how does he do it?!—even with him by your side, albeit in a form that can’t properly communicate… Ayaka decides to lend a hand, she takes it upon herself to attend meetings and represent the clan and Commission in Ayato’s stead. Thankfully no one has questioned where he is yet.
Or why there is a suspiciously similar cat trotting around the estate in his place.
You fish into a bush in the courtyard gardens, hand feeling around—until you find fur and yoink it up. Ayato blinks at you, tail swishing as he has a piece of grilled fish in his mouth that he stole from the kitchens. “You know… you can have all the fish you want—you don’t have to steal it,” you say as you lift him into your arms.
His ears flick as you talk, but he eats the fish happily regardless. You shake your head in mild exasperation. Looks like he’s using the opportunity to engage in… more mischief than usual. Perhaps a different kind.
Ayato likes to use his newfound stealth and agility to his advantage… to torment you.
You put away some laundry and turned to a shelf to fetch something—only to come face to face with Ayato’s cat-face, making you jump as he meows happily—as if happy to see you! He knows he’s just trying to startle you!
He winds around your feet when you walk around the estate and purrs happily when you squint at him.
Ayato knows the limits, he stops before you can lock him inside a room for the remainder of the day. His fur is so soft as you pet him and a rumbling purr leaves him, he knows it’s silly—he’s not really a cat, at least, hopefully not for long. But you keep petting and stroking him while he does.
He takes good care of himself on normal days, and as a cat, it’s no different—he grooms himself meticulously, though finds it rather embarrassing if you’re looking, so he tries to do it out of sight… it's very instinctual, but he also likes to feel clean and groomed.
You once passed the great hall and saw Thoma wriggling a toy with a bundle of feathers on it while Ayato chased it… it was pretty cute to watch, but you hurried along before either of them could notice you.
He hogs the futon, you don’t want to push him to the side and get pushed to the edge of the mattress yourself. Ayato doesn’t even realise he’s doing it.
Tumblr media
Kaveh ;
Distressed, not having fun, he wants to go home.
A series of meows in varying states of distress and confusion follow behind you as you walk, you stop and turn around, peering down at the strange cat that’s been following you around since you left the Akademiya. You were about to ask what he wants… but as you squint at the cat… doesn’t it look familiar?
Kaveh doesn’t stop when you do, he raises on his hind legs by your feet and sinks his claws into your pants, a shrill, distressed meow leaves him.
You reach down and pick him up, holding under his front legs as you inspect him… hm, golden fur with tints of a darker, sandy brown… those big red eyes.
“... Kaveh?” you must be crazy, there’s no way your partner is a cat, and followed you around without you realising, but you know those eyes very well. It’s him.
Alhaitham just stares at you like you grew three additional heads, he looks at Kaveh in your arms and then back at you. “... it looks like him, but that’s not proof enough—have you asked him to write his name?”
You look at Kaveh and he tilts his small head to look up at you. Write his name…? He doesn’t exactly have thumbs… but Alhaitham has a good point. What if it’s just a very persistent cat?
Then again… where would Kaveh be? He’s usually home by this time.
Alhaitham fetches a pen and some parchment and you put Kaveh down on the table. He tries to use his paws at first but just spills ink all over the place—but as he grabs the pen with his mouth and clumsily scribbles his signature, Alhaitham just hums while you scoop Kaveh up again, holding him up. “It is you! What happened to you, Kaveh?”
Of course, he can’t give a proper answer, he wriggles his paws around and meows in a long dialogue—but it’s entirely incomprehensible.
While you and Alhaitham try to figure out how to get him back, Kaveh tries to adjust to his… predicament. He doesn’t do it with any grace, though… his leaps and jumps across furniture are miscalculated and he falls to the ground or hits his head more often than you can count.
But your worried petting and rubbing the aching area makes him purr and nuzzle into your arms.
He does hate the heightened senses, he jumps at the smallest noise and scuttles across the room if anything startles him—and he gets startled very easily like this.
Tumblr media
Neuvillette ;
You call his name, looking around his office… you scratch your head, he can’t have gone far, you just left to fetch some tea for a few minutes. It’s not like he can open the door or window and slip out—why would he anyway?
You hear a very… pathetic meow, from next to you—but there’s nothing there, just a sofa. You hear it again—under the sofa…?
Ducking down, you see that Neuvillette is stuck, he seems to have been trying to squeeze himself under the sofa, and rounding the furniture, you see his hind legs and tail flat on the floor… it’s a bit amusing. “There, I got you,” you say soothingly as you lift the sofa up a little so he can back out. Neuvillette stands up and shakes his body.
You squat down and smile. “How’d you get stuck under there?” you hold out your hand and he presses his head into your palm, nuzzling against your skin for comfort as you turn your hand to scratch and pet him.
He’s not very good at resisting the instincts and temptations that come with this form—you’re unsure why he seems to struggle so much, but you try to help him as much as you can, and not laugh.
You saw him chase a shadow, there is an ornament on the raised blinds that hang above the large window in his office. It's attached to the strings that lower and raise them and it sways slightly—casting a shadow across the floor.
Another time he was grooming his fur and struggling, he has a thick, long coat and had to lean far back to reach the end of his fur as his tongue dragged along the hairs… causing him to roll backwards off the arm of the couch and into the pile of pillows.
Innocent, small things that make you smile, but you’re careful that he doesn’t see it.
He loafs over a stack of court documents as you organise his desk—might as well use the opportunity to clean up while he won’t be making a mess. He doesn’t seem satisfied with his place on the desk and stands… and spots a box on the ground, it’s stacked halfway with old documents to be taken to storage… but it also looks like the perfect spot to rest. He hops down from the desk and circles a few times on the papers to get comfortable. He wriggles a little before sitting down.
It takes him a minute to realise that he was kneading into the paper when he hears the sound of it tearing under his claws in an instinctual need to make the bottom of the box comfortable.
Safe to say, he was mortified to have destroyed the top four documents, but thankfully they weren’t shredded and you managed to salvage them with some memory of what had occurred as well as piecing them together.
Tumblr media
Tartaglia ;
You look towards the window above the kitchen counter, cold air brushes into the house as Childe enters through it—with a mouse in his mouth.
You leap up and push the book in your hand against his face and push him straight back outside. “No! Absolutely not! Leave it outside, not in the house!!” You close the window behind him and sigh in relief, brushing stray snow into the sink. When you look up again, He’s sitting there, big eyes and ears flat against his head… but no mouse.
Sighing, you open the window a smidge so that he can step inside, where he shakes himself and tosses flakes of melting snow all over.
Childe sits down, tail swaying—as if waiting for something.
You set your haps on your hips. “What?”
“Mrrow…” he wriggles his head, he wants a pat.
… fine, just because he took the mouse outside because you ‘asked’, you raise your hand to stroke his head and he tilts it to lick your palm—but you pull back. “No, you just had a wild animal in your mouth, wash your mouth!”
What is this?? He feels like a criminal, all he did was bring you a prize… to be fair, he realised how silly it was to bring you a dead animal when you leapt up to push him back out, but it felt completely natural up until that point!
He whines and meows for forgiveness for the rest of the night, and you do eventually ‘forgive’ him and let Chile lounge around on your lap while you pet him and continue reading.
He picks fights with swaying curtains, chases your broom when you’re cleaning and even whacked your cup of coffee off the dinner table—spilling it everywhere. He’s a nightmare in this form, because no matter the scolding, he just stares at you with excited, large eyes and a swaying tail.
Nothing you say gets through his head. In one ear and out the other.
He does not give up either, if he wants affection, he will get it one way or the other, even if he has to whine and meow endlessly, follow you around—fake a limp! You shake him a bit after he worried you and you almost went out in the middle of the evening through the snow to take him to a vet when he just wanted scritches.
In all fairness… this is just typical behaviour, but now he has the kitten eyes to break your self control and composure within seconds.
Tumblr media
Thoma ;
He tries to do his job even in cat form, using his tail to sweep, he even takes his duster into his mouth and tries to sweep on surfaces he’d usually need ladders to reach, and now he can just leap to them.
But he also has a problem…
He has an instinctual need to create a mess, knock things over or sit on things—when he catches himself in an act of pushing Ayaka’s discarded tea off a table, he nearly leaps away to stop himself.
Thankfully, everyone around him doesn't mind—and it’s a bit relieving to see that Thoma retains a sense of himself. He finds time where he would usually go into town to instead nap—and the Kamisato estate has perfect napping spots. He lies sprawled across the engawa surrounding the eastern part of the estate near the back gardens, and lets the warm beams of the sun warm his belly—only to shoot up in surprise when he hears footsteps, embarrassed to be caught lounging around.
Ayato sometimes plucks him away to keep on his lap for hours while he sorts through paperwork, petting and scratching behind his ears while his other hand signs documents. Thoma gets a bit restless just loafing on his lord’s lap and meows in relief when you come along to fetch him.
Ayaka leapt at the opportunity to sew a few accessories for him, guised under the excuse of “practise for smaller bodies” and Thoma ends up with half a wardrobe by the end of the week.
But he prefers to be around you, you don’t trap him on your lap (even though Ayato gives very good scritches) or make him model for three hours (even though Ayaka gave him snacks). As you work around the estate, he gets tired—curse this cat body and it’s perpetual need for napping!—and you tuck him gently into your eri*. Thoma lays nestled against your chest warmly, his body light and still as you continue your work.
The gardens of the Kamisato estate is a disaster zone, and after the first few days, thoma knows to avoid it.
He had strolled past, early in his transformation—and been startled by his own reflection in the pond he passed by, the fish swimming away in a hurry as he ran across the gardens in surprise. A second time, he had spent twelve minutes chasing a butterfly while Ayato watched with a signature smile… he will likely not let him forget it.
Thankfully, he’s not needed much in the gardens, and he sits perched atop a high shelf in the kitchens, his tail sways as he leans forward… very much ready to leap and steal some food—before you pluck him up and raise an eyebrow.
His ears flatten in realisation, but you rub his cheeks and tuck him back into your clothes—grabbing some leftover pears from the dessert the kitchens were making, letting him munch on it while you get back to work.
Tumblr media
Venti  ;
You didn’t think Venti could become even more of an airhead on a typical day as he does when he becomes a cat. He gets distracted by the smallest things and wanders off—leading to a wild goose chase where you have to ask around for a small darkly coloured cat with blue highlights on its ears and tail—a very distinct cat!—and being pointed in every direction possible.
Only to discover him napping in a crate full of apples in an alley you walked past at least six times just in the last fifteen minutes.
He is also very vocal, Venti says anything that comes to his mind… which is unfortunately nothing but meowing nonsense to your ears, but you nod along as if you understand, having a halfway conversation with the lively cat.
Somehow, he very much likes to play and nap like he’s being paid to do it at the same time. In one moment, he’s swatting at your clothes and trying to get to play with your fingers—which he accidentally bites and scratches in his excitement, quickly rectifying it with some licks and nuzzles—and the next, he’s passed out cold in a box or on a shelf for five hours.
He doesn’t seem embarrassed by these new catlike instincts, such as the need to groom himself—he even starts grooming you halfway through his coat, you’re sure your skin is very much clean by the time he finally turns back to himself.
Unlike normal cats, who move and settle down elsewhere when the person under them gets up… Venti is not happy about being disturbed nor that you’re trying to get up, he whines and kneads on your clothes to try and get you to stay a little bit longer, giving you the best big kitten eyes he can muster.
And damn him, it works. He knows what he’s doing.
You had been looking for him one morning, thinking he just wandered off again and you’d find him napping in some corner of the city… when Diluc approaches you with a sheepish looking Venti-cat, holding him by the scruff of his neck. “This yours?”
Diluc doesn’t even seem surprised that the bard is a cat. At least he isn’t an allergy risk when he’s human-like and trying to get into his wares.
Tumblr media
Wanderer ;
He is very aware of himself, he knows he looks stupid (cute) and that everything he does will be looked at through the lens of a typical cat and not someone stuck in its body.
And thus, he does all he can to be as eerie and unnatural a cat as he can be.
He doesn’t make a single sound, no meowing, no purring, nothing. He doesn’t walk like a cat—thankfully he doesn’t walk on two legs—nor does he exhibit any of their typical behaviours.
At least, that was the plan.
Every single time Wanderer catches himself doing anything that could be considered “cat-like”, such as grooming himself, chasing a loose string, or gods forbid… kneading—he will immediately stop and compose himself again.
As opposed to some others, he absolutely hates the loss of control that follows becoming a cat.
He can’t write properly, he can’t communicate—and if he tries, no one but you and perhaps Nahida takes him seriously—he’s always sleepy and aware at strange times… he hates it!
And once when he was just trying to have some grapes for snacks—you suddenly leapt towards him to stop him, taking the bowl off the table with a relieved huff when you noticed he hadn’t swallowed any of it… after you pried the grape out of his mouth. At his hissing, you explained that cats can’t have grapes.
He gave you the cold fur-shoulder for at least two days.
You brought him out one time to get some fresh air—since he’s fully aware of himself, he shouldn’t run off and get lost, or into a dangerous situation like an indoor cat might. But when you gave some other cats around the streets of Sumeru attention, he quickly meowed in protest and whacked the other cats away.
It’s a bit cute… he doesn’t normally act so forthcoming, and as he bumps his head into your knee afterwards, you rub his cheeks and pinch his ears despite further protest. How cute!
Tumblr media
Wriothesley ;
At first, you weren’t even sure if Wriothesley was just a “cat”. He’s huge*.
You put a bowl in front of him, filled with foods that are okay for cats to eat but also not… gross, as Wriothesley is very much aware in that cat-head of his. “C’mon, there’s nothing wrong with this, I even tasted it—it’s a bit bland ‘cause we can’t put any seasoning, but it’s food.”
He leans down, and for a second you think that he’s going to eat it—but as his whiskers brush against the sides of the bowl, he lifts his head abruptly and swats at the bowl, clattering it to the ground—he didn’t mean to hit it at all, but also not this hard.
You scratch your head, you just can’t figure out why he won’t eat—you’ve tried everything!
It took you several hours of back and forth questions and meowing to realise that it was the shape of the bowl that was the problem and not the food itself.
On another day, you reach down to pet his soft, thick fur—only to get a static shock, it zaps your fingers and both of you jump back. You always have to be careful with petting him, as there’s always a risk of getting zapped at any time. Worst part is, it’s not even every time! It catches you off guard!
He likes to climb and jump on the pipes that web around the fortress, getting into places he’s never even considered before—and sometimes you look around for him for hours before giving up… only to suddenly be leapt on from above by a nine kilogram heavy cat half your size, knocking you over.
Siegwinne noticed that he had been brooding lately, he had been stuck as a cat for five days now and it was beginning to frustrate him. So she decided to soak a small blanket in tea mixed with catnip—after it was dry and she rubbed some more on it, she laid it out in his office…
You watched him for a good long while as he rubbed against it, meowed and rolled on the blanket. It was unbearably adorable, but you eventually pulled him away after a while—worrying it might be too much.
He’s so large that it’s almost like sleeping with a person, just a very furry one. He lies halfway over you and as you wake in the morning—he refuses to get up. You give in and relax in bed for a while… until he starts kneading your cheeks, leaving small scratches with his big paws and claws. You don’t stop him—it doesn’t hurt, he looks so focused, like he’s trying to squeeze something out of your cheeks.
Tumblr media
Xiao ;
He meows and wriggles in your arms, but you try your best to hold him until you reach the top of the inn—he swats at you and you finally let him go when you enter his usual reserved room. Despite being paws up when you let go of him, Xiao lands perfectly and immediately hops up to the highest vantage point in the room he could reach.
You don’t get him down by yourself, he only comes down willingly after a few hours when he’s calmed down and adjusted a bit to this form. You’re not entirely sure what happened, you had just been exploring a cave that was strangely entwined with a temple of sorts, when a bright light appeared behind you, and Xiao—who had been accompanying you—was suddenly a cat. A very small cat.
He loafs on the windowsill in the night, his tail wrapped around his paws as he peers towards the sky—at the slightest noise, his ears flicker towards it and he squints at the roads below that pass and surround the large inn.
  He is unbothered. Firm. Stoic.
… after getting wet under a pouring rain that persisted all day, he pretends not to be bothered by his wet fur and the uncomfortable existence he leads under this blanket of wet fur…
But he can only pretend for so long. You turn away and pretend to busy yourself to allow him some privacy to reluctantly lick along his fur and smooth it down, trying to clean or groom it in a way that makes it less sloppy.
He hates it, this weird satisfaction that comes with this very primal instinct, and yet, he does still feel the satisfaction.
Xiao is difficult to read on an average day, he’s very used to controlling his emotions and maintaining a front that’s difficult to get past.
But as a cat… he’s an open book, he approaches you with a curled tail, he slow blinks at you when you drag your fingers through his fur as he loafs on the windowsill.
  But he does. Not. Meow.
Except for that time you hauled his ass back to the inn… and when Zhongli makes a sudden appearance, he hops from his perched position and snakes around the former Archon’s legs, purring and meowing as he’s being petted and spoken to. He doesn’t notice his own behaviour…
Not until the following night after Zhongli leaves, and Xiao is mortified that he behaved like an affection-depraved cat in front of Morax.
Thankfully you sliding a comb through his fur and untangling some knots from the day distracts and calms him down in the evening.
Tumblr media
Zhongli ;
At first, you weren’t even sure if Zhongli was actually aware he was a cat, he follows you around, sits on a bench and licks his paw to clean it while you shop for groceries… he chases anything shiny that you come across and swats at it with his paws, leaps at it and tries to capture it—usually rocks or mora people drop. Maybe he likes the mineral, maybe it’s the shine. You can’t really know.
You try to give him some nice food, cut down nicely so he won’t accidentally choke on it… but he won’t eat it, not unless you plate it properly…? At least, when you rearranged it better and separated the meats from the greens, he seemed to like it more. Maybe he thought you were treating him a bit too much like a pet rather than a partner that’s unfortunately become a cat for a (hopefully) limited time.
After a long day of… not doing much, Zhongli realised he had left scratches on the sides of some furniture and he tries to hide or cover them up for the time being, dragging a blanket over the arm of a divan in the living room… hopefully you won’t discover them and he can fix it after he’s back to normal before you notice.
You do notice that he very much prefers specific textures, he doesn’t like walking on the hardwood floor of your home and instead prefers to lie down or sit on blankets or the silken sheets in your shared bedroom.
Despite the strange predicament, Zhongli is very calm, he’s both patient and has a good sense—if this was a dangerous curse or spell that was difficult to reverse, he would likely sense it. Instead, he considers using this time to show and receive affection in a way you haven’t been able to before.
He often sits by your legs or thighs, he winds around them and rubs his furry cheeks along your clothes and pretty much anywhere he can reach. Your legs when he’s winding around them, your hand when you reach out to pet him, your cheek when he stands on your chest when you’re trying to read in bed before sleeping.
He purrs and cuddles with you, laying in your arms or over your lap—he even hid in your bag once when you went out for the day, and you discovered it too late to take him back home (you did wonder why your bag felt heavier than usual) and thus, he has the pleasure of accompanying you to your work—something he doesn’t often get the excuse or time to do.
Thankfully, Hu Tao didn’t question it when you came to her and said that Zhongli couldn’t come to work for a few days (hopefully just a few days). If anything, she sighed in relief and said something about him finally using his paid time off and sick days. Then thanks you for taking him out of commission???
You pour over some scrolls and papers to try and figure out how to turn Zhongli back, and he hops onto the desk in the study, nuzzling against your arm before sitting down, tail swaying as he joins you in searching for ways to bring him back to you in a more familiar form. Despite how cute he is like this.

* eri is the collar-flap on the front of a kimono/yukata that crosses over the chest, he's tucked into it and lying on his back. if you know about the nioh cat clock scene, yeah.
* wriothesley is supposed to be a maine coon type of cat, just huge and heavy. but not wild cat huge.

the fine and subtle art of arguing with old men
it was a good week for testing which meant it was a slow week for me. most of my job is fixing the machine when it goes down. if it doesn't go down, i don't have much to do.
fortunately neither did marc. in a site full of ornery old bastards, he's the oldest and the orneriest, so it goes without saying that i enjoy spending time with him. he reminds me of my grandpa. hell, he reminds me of a lot of people. i've befriended enough grumpy old men that i've got a sort of momentum to it now - you know how it is, when you meet someone that reminds you of someone else you really like. you get to start that friendship off half built, because you already have an idea of how to like that guy, and some of that old warmth can be brought to the new friendship. a little ember to start the stove up with.
(i think that's one of the really undersold beauties of getting older. you stop viewing people as strangers and more like remixes of friends.)
anyway, i was sitting next to marc and we were talking about the future. i've got my eye on having kids sometime soon (year or two? hopefully?), and he's very happy for me. i've tried asking him for advice, but all he says is that he didn't do a great job with his own kids and they still turned out okay, so i should stress less and trust myself more. i hope he's right. he believes it, at least, and it's a hell of a thing to have the faith of an old man. his faith is hard won.
as for his plans, he's retiring at some point in the next six months, and is hoping to sell his home and buy something in florida. he's republican, so he views the state as paradise, and i'm not inclined to even try talking him out of it. it's his dream, you know? i know for a fact my paradise would be a lot of people's hell. life's funny like that.
still, we kept going on, and it was a good time, and then he reminisced about the last time he got close to quitting - back around 2020. our job required getting vaxxed, and he refused, and there was a big kerfuffle about it before the job actually backed down. i know there's not a lot of sympathy for the unvaxxed out here, but the man's 62. you get the shot when you're under 30 to protect the people around you, but when you're over 60, you're just getting it to protect yourself and it's hard to be mad at someone for kicking their own ass.
still gave me pause though. i knew he wasn't going to take it well, but half the job of collecting curmudgeons is keeping them around, so i said
hey. i'm sorry they bent your arm over it, but.
but.
you should really get that shot.
and he looked over at me, and i looked at him, and he actually spat. not on me, just the concrete, but it was enough to show that he was mad. then he walked away, as abrupt as anything.
i felt bad about it. i wasn't sure what i'd expected, when he was willing to lose his job over it before, but i'd been so invested in his dream of retirement - the idea of him sipping margaritias on a beach next to his wife, the wife he calls every day during lunch, the wife he says is the one thing in life he ever got right on the first try. the wife that almost divorced him back when he was in the airforce because he just wasn't home enough.
(but he can be home now.)
and then he mentioned the vax thing, and it was like seeing a pin hit a balloon. he works out every day and takes all sorts of crazy vitamins and is generally committed to getting the most out of his pension and his life. i didn't want this dumb weak point to be his achilles heel.
---
i wasn't actually sure how long marc would be mad at me. i've seen him stay mad at some people for weeks. i wasn't sure if being friends would make that time go up or down.
it went down. i'm glad it went down.
he stopped being mad about two days later. we were doing front end maintenance one morning, and it was just that simple mechanical rhythm - hex key, replace the anode sheets, punch some off-gassing holes, oil it up, put it back in - that put things at ease. it always does. people working there are too busy to remember grudges, and it has this sort of mandatory practical communication that helps smooth things over. it was going great, and then out of the blue he said babs, you gotta be careful giving advice. those shots come with complications. what would you do if i got that shot, had a stroke, and died?
and i don't know what answer he was expecting, but i just told him the truth, which is that i would be devastated. i'd feel like i killed him. i thought that was a pretty normal response, but he looked taken aback. he asked why i said it then, and i said i'd have felt the same if he died of covid. that's just life. sometimes, there's no way forward that doesn't risk some kind of regret.
we finished the tube after that, in a silence that felt heavier than peace but lighter than anger. it felt like the ball was back in marc's court. like it would be rude to take that turn from him.
we parted ways with a nod and didn't speak until the next day.
---
i was doing spreadsheet work when he found me again. standard paper engineering - thinking of things we might need and ordering them in batches, months ahead of time. it always feels a little like plugging holes in a dam with my fingers.
but he popped up, and we didn't even exchange pleasantries. he just said i'm gonna die one day, and you can't blame yourself for that.
which is a hell of a thing to just tell someone right off the bat.
so i said what
and he said babs, i am in my 60s. something is gonna get me eventually, and whether it's covid or heart disease, or a stroke, there will be something you could have said or done before. and that's okay. it's not your job to make me live forever.
and you know, he actually made a lot of sense. so i said
okay.
i'll keep your business yours. i just
you were talking about your retirement before this. and i want that for you very much. you've worked hard for 45 years, and you deserve a break. we're getting to sick season, and it would be the saddest fucking thing in the world if you got this close to winning the race then tripped in the last ten feet.
and we sat there a few moments longer. i wasn't sure what to say, and i wasn't sure what he'd say, but eventually he just shrugged and said
yeah
then he left. i figured that would be the end of it.
---
i did front end maintenance yesterday, after being gone a week. it's one of my favorite things to do. i like working with my hands. i really like working with my hands. i'm glad i went to college, but in a different life, i think i could've made a better electrician than an electrical engineer.
and at one step, when we were both hoisting the plate back onto the machine, his sleeve rode up, and i saw two bandaids on his arm.
we finished the install, and i was ready to go back when marc actually stopped me.
i got the shot, he said, almost embarrassed. like he'd been caught. and i knew he was gonna say something dumb about it, so i just cut him off by giving him a hug.
i was relieved. hugging old men is kind of like picking up cats. if they like you a lot, they'll tolerate it, but that's about it. we sat there maybe three beats before his hands went up, and then he gave me one overly-hard thump on the back. in my experience, this is how old men tell you that they're done, so i let him go.
carla talked me into it, he said, almost defensive. his wife. his one good decision.
tell her i said thanks, i said back.
trump got the shot too, he said, less defensive, but oddly pleading. like he was consoling himself.
like he was nervous.
then it's gotta be safe, i said, and he looked up at me, strangely searching, strangely vulnerable. i don't know exactly what he was looking for, but i guess he found it because after a few moments his shoulders relaxed.
yeah, he said, one hand on the back of his head.
it's gotta be.

"first day"
fluff, happy fushiguro family, slice of life, megs' first day of school send-off
Synopsis: you've been dating toji for a while now and megumi subconsciously calls you mom for the first time on his way out the door
to sum it up: you adore the little family you've come to be a part of
WC: 1,701
Warning(s): none
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Megs!" you call out, standing by the front door awaiting the dark-haired boy's arrival. He soon shuffles around the corner from his room, throwing a bag over his shoulder with a tired expression on his face.
His father turns to watch him walk in, crossing his arms as he leans against the counter. "The hell were you doing in there that took you so long?"
"Nothing," Megumi grumbles, moving to brush past the two of you to rush to the door. "I just wanted to look presentable, that's all."
"So you took thirty minutes to get ready?" Toji quirks a brow.
"Believe it or not, dad, some would say that's not enough time to get ready in the morning."
"Not at all, actually," you agree.
Toji tugs the corner of his mouth in judgment. " Well, you should know," he says to you. "You spend at least ten years in the bathroom when we have somewhere to go."
You scoff, rolling your eyes. "That's such an overreaction. I never take any longer than an hour." Megumi and his father exchange knowing looks and you place your hand on your hip. "What?"
"Don't worry baby," Toji assures you. "It's okay to be in denial."
"We've timed it before. The last time we all went out to dinner as a family, you took two and a half hours to get dressed," Megumi adds.
"That's only because I had to shower and pick out an outfit then do my hair and makeup," you defend.
"Isn't that a little overkill? It takes me half that time to shower, get dressed, eat breakfast, and get some homework done."
"Whatever. Your sister would understand," you sigh.
"Unfortunately, she may be worse than you."
"Women," Toji tsks. You slap his bicep and he pretends to flinch, smirking down at you playfully. "Ouch."
"Alright, well, I'm ready now. I don't wanna be late," the sixteen year old says, turning back to reach for the door handle.
"Ah ah ah, wait!" you stop him. "You're not going anywhere without me getting a good look at you. Turn around, I wanna see how the uniform fits."
Megumi lowers his head and complies, turning back around stiffly for you to admire him. You press your hand to your lips to conceal your smile, eyes gleaming with pride as you look over the sharp navy jacket and pants he adorns.
"Awwww," you coo. "It fits perfectly! How does it feel?"
"Pretty good," Megumi nods, moving his arm around slightly to show his mobility in the fabric. "It's comfortable too. It shouldn't be a problem during missions."
"I still can't believe how quickly time has gone by," you muse. "You're already going into your first year at Jujutsu High! Are you excited?"
"You better be," Toji grunts. "Your uncle Gojo hasn't gotten off my ass about your enrollment for years. At least now, he'll finally shut up."
"I still don't understand why I have to have him as a teacher. He's such a moron, I doubt he'll teach us anything useful," Megumi mumbles.
"Moron or not, he's the strongest sorcerer of the modern age and he's helped out so much. I'm sure he'll be able to give you a good experience," you say positively.
"We talkin' about the same Gojo here? The one who trashed my house playing tag with Megumi and the dogs in the living room?" Toji points out and his son grits his teeth at the memory.
"Oh come on, Satoru was like twenty one back then. I can only imagine the crazy shit you've with the kids when you were raising them," you tease.
"You don't even want to know," Megumi exhales.
"Please, you came out just fine, didn’t ya?” Toji says, reaching out his hand to ruffle at Megumi's spiky hair. The teen recoils, craning his head away and shielding himself with his arm.
"Quit it. I'm not five anymore."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're all grown up now, I know. Gonna be a first-grade sorcerer before I can even blink an eye."
"Who said that I would be first grade? I'm only a first year."
"Yeah, and look at who your pops is," Toji grins. "Plus, you got an advantage that I never had. You'll do just fine."
Megumi hums indifferently, doubting himself momentarily but accepting the words nonetheless. "Alright, are we ready?"
"No, not yet!" you pull out your phone quickly and open the camera. "I need to get pictures."
The blue-eyed boy slumps. "(Y/n), I gotta go."
"I know, I know, just a few," you promise, holding your camera up to capture his awkward figure in the frame. "Okay, smile."
Megumi doesn't, and of course you don't actually expect him to. Instead, he calmly stares at the camera with his arms at his sides, unsure of what to do with themselves. Toji moves to stand behind you, leaning down to take a peak at the million pictures you're snapping.
"Toji, go stand with him so I can get one with the both of you."
The two groan simultaneously. "Doll, can we just focus on gettin' the kid to school?"
"It's fine. His stuff is already moved into his dorm. We have time."
"But-"
"Shut up and go stand with your son, now," you glare firmly up at the green-eyed man and he huffs.
"Yes, ma'am."
Toji raises a hand to his hip and tilts his head boredly as he stands beside Megumi, the two of them sharing the exact same blank stare as they look into the camera. You squeal happily. "You two are so cuteee!"
"We done, now?"
"No, I wanna get one more with Megs, and then I'm good." The boys give you a look, but you wave them off. "I mean it! Gosh, here Toji. Take our picture."
Toji obliges, grabbing your phone from your hand as you rush over to the tall boy. His expression melts into serenity as you place your hands on his shoulders and lean your head against his arm, smiling widely at the camera as a hint of a smile touches Megumi's lips.
Toji's heart warms at the sight, watching the way his son grows comfortable in your presence. The picture of the two of you looks so natural t to him like you are meant to be a part of his family, which he knows you are.
He snaps the photo and nods. "Got it."
You exhale, turning to face Megumi. You brush your hands over his shoulders to straighten his jacket, ridding it of any lint and wrinkles. "Okay, Megumi, please remember to be safe."
"I know. I will," he nods.
"And don't be too reckless when it comes to training."
"I won't."
"And try to make friends. I know how easy it is for you to push others away."
"I'll try."
You press your lips together with a final sigh, looking over Megumi's face warmly. You wrap your arms safely around him into a hug, your emotions getting the best of you. You have spent the past year caring for Megumi like your own, and watching him head off to achieve his goals makes your heart swell with joy and fear all the same.
"Text me or your father or Tsumiki if you need anything. Anything at all," you tell him. He returns your hug gently.
"Okay," he chuckles lightly and you pull away. "Don't worry, I'll be fine."
"...I know you will..." you pout. "Okay, I'll let you go. Good luck. I hope you have an amazing first day. I'll see you at the end of the week, yeah?"
"Mhm. I'll call you to let you know how the day went later."
"Please do."
Toji hands you back your phone and walks toward the door with Megumi. "Let's get a move on," he says. He leans over quickly to peck your lips farewell. "I'll be back in a few."
"Don't speed, Toji."
"Speeding gets you places quicker," he winks and you suck your teeth disapprovingly. Megumi opens the door, his dad gripping the frame.
"Bye, boys. Stay out of trouble," you wave, eyes glassy as you watch Megumi walk out.
"See ya, doll."
"Bye, mum."
The three of you freeze the second the words hit the air, everyone stilling in their tracks.
You feel your heart burst as overwhelming happiness consumes you. Megumi keeps his face forward, hiding his reddening cheeks as he processes what he has just said. Toji stares at the back of his son's head, eyes wide, before he turns to look at you to find your shocked, giddy face.
You don't have any time to reply when Megumi clears his throat suddenly, sweat dotting his forehead, and he walks rigidly out of the house and swiftly down the hall without looking back.
Toji stays behind, keeping an eye on you when you look up at him, stunned. "Did he just...?" you murmur.
"Yep."
Your eyes immediately well with tears and your lips wobble, your hands flying over your mouth. "He sees me as his mom?" you whisper.
Toji chuckles, ducking down to you with his hand still gripping the door. "Of course he does. He's always adored you. Him and Tsumiki."
"I'm gonna cry."
The assassin chuckles softly, pressing his thumb to the corner of your eye gently. "You're already cryin.'"
"Shut up," you sniff. "God, I love those kids so much. I just wanna give him all the hugs in the world."
"And you'll be able to. There isn't a better woman on this planet to be there for the kids," he kisses your cheek. "That's why I plan t'marry you someday."
"Fuck you, Toj. You're gonna make me cry even more."
"Sorry, baby. Can't help talkin' about it," he leans back to the doorway. "Let me get the kid squared away and make sure he's not dyin' of embarrassment, then I'll be back to talk to ya about makin' this official."
"You're being for real?"
"Of course I am."
You lower your hands and beam. "Tell Megumi I love him and get back here soon."
"I will," he hums. "But I thought you said no speeding?"
"Just- make sure the two of you at least get to the school in one peace."
He smirks. "Will do, doll."
