I again made the mistake of writing in the tags first and not here 😂

Basically I was re-reading the second post and noticed that Damien had seen a marking on Danny. I’m not sure if I was seeing it correctly since I haven’t read this au in a while, BUT

I’d like to think that Danny had the opportunity for two soul mates.

Tim was just the one that Danny had first.

He wanted to connect to his soul mate, maybe it had started in a frantic romantic way, his desire to have someone stay with him and love keeping him going. When Tim rejected this bullet-train Danny and his affections, Danny switched it to platonic because romance had been rejected.

Now all he wants is a relationship. Just to be accepted.

But over time, even rejected with the platonic option, Danny’s soul mate mark begins to change and warp. But Danny doesn’t notice, too loyal and steadfast and stubborn to give up on Tim entirely, even if in his heart he’s hurt.

And then the situation with Damien happened, co-parenting the little kitten and getting along despite everything that had occurred before that point.

Danny’s soul mark of one, becomes two.

Damien who had given up his soul mate, rejecting the marking, notices the new one on Danny.

This could go two ways. Either Damien’s soul mate WAS Danny, but had rejected the marking with no backlash on Danny as Danny’s soul mate was Tim.

OR

Damien finds out that it’s possible to get a new soul mate if the first one is rejected enough times that it can break the one who is being rejected.

Either way, Damien takes advantage of this and begins to court Danny in earnest.

And Danny, startled but charmed and touched at being someone’s first choice accepts the courtship, leading to everything else within the post.

And with that acceptance the marking of Tim’s soul mark seems to shatter, to fade, into something that can barely be seen unless you know what to look for.

An AU of the Rejected Soulmate AU where Robin gets the drop on Phantom in a warehouse and they fight. Robin hits Phantom hard enough to send him crashing into a bunch of wooden crates, thus breaking them.

The fight continues until Phantom calls for a time out and starts listening carefully. Damian hisses out that he will not be tricked into letting his guard down. Danny shushes him again and thats when they hear it.

A tiny desperate mew.

They both race over to the broken crates and begin carefully digging through the rubble as to not harm the tiny kittens further.

Needless to say they bond over caring for the injured kittens and co parent suprisingly well. Damian ends up stealing Tim's soulmate and the batfam only find out about this after the catch Damian going on a date with Tim's (now ex) stalker
