You asked me to yap about Mario. Now it's your turn (if you want to, ofc!).

Mario has always thrived on making people laugh and smile. Those intentions were of course misguided during his school days, but it quickly gained him a reputation as class clown. He was convinced a good dad joke or two would land him a solid career in the comedy industry. But this power was at its strongest towards his loved ones.

With Luigi, it doesn’t take much for him to smile around Mario. His mere presence is enough to brighten his mood. But when Mario’s feeling extra silly, he’d surprise him with taps behind the shoulder or pokes to the side. When cheering him up, six times out of ten a hug would be followed by a mini tickle attack.

One of his and Luigi’s favorite TV shows growing up was Barney. Mario had THE best Barney impression, and it only got better with time. It ALWAYS cracked Luigi up. When Mario and Peach have Apricot (my fankid for those who don’t know!), he gets her hooked on the show IMMEDIATELY. One of the easiest ways to get her beaming is by singing the “I Love You” song. Once she starts speaking, she always says "the voice! the voice!" to get Mario to sing it in his famous Barney impression. But before that, she was forming a diamond over her head with her arms to mimick the shape of Barney's head.

With Peach (and eventually Apricot) and making her smile or cheering her up, he would serenade her with songs in a funny deep voice (like the Mario head singing Amore), or shower her with kisses all over her face. He'd nuzzle his face against her because she always comments on how his mustache tickles, but has a smooth (yet rough!) and curvy texture.

She's an absolute sucker for his dad jokes. She's the only person he can make genuinely double over in laughter to them. Sometimes he'd smile proudly, other times he'd dart his eyes from side to side with a blush, thinking to himself, "??? was it that funny?"

With Daisy, it's rare Mario ever catches her in a down mood. But when they become closer, it becomes easier to read her (thanks to Luigi and her being together and him being able to point out the signals... to her dismay). Of course she doesn't want to burden him with her petty struggles, but Mario won't have it.

He knows she enjoys making Short People Jokes™, so he'd sacrifice his sanity and play into it to cheer her up. Sometimes he would deliver things to her by head; for example, balance a cup of apple juice on his head and give it to her, acting as her living, breathing table for the day (like she does here). It would get a small smile out of her. As the day goes on, the things Mario puts on his head get more and more ridiculous, and by the end of the day, she's all smiles. For this reason, one of her nicknames for him is her "Table in Blue Overalls" (knight and shining armor... eh?)

They would also have sessions where they try to out-funny the other by telling the worst jokes and comebacks, and they're both wheezing through their counter-attacks by the end.

Oh yeah, Mario is an ATROCIOUS hoarder. Little scribbles and random parts from childhood, trophies, ripped shirts, used powerups... he can never bring himself to throw it away! Memories are memories, and everything has a story.
