people: *complaining loudly and publicly about lack of fic and how much they need more people to write it* me: *eyetwitch* it's fine just ignore it. just ignore it. i'm sure they're leaving nice comments for people and not just consuming all the fic that caters to their tastes without saying anything to the authors to encourage them to keep writing. i'm sure they at least leave little heart emojis in the comments and give kudos. i'm sure they're participating and being kind and not just treating fanfic as another media source to devour without showing any kind of gratitude for the people who worked hard to write something and put it out there for free. i'm sureeeee...
