he has zero red flags if he likes you he will look at you with rose tinted glasses forever and be obsessed with you (with some exceptions. but. overall he is very forgiving) for instance, he will hold Lucio accountable for hurting his friends and inadvertently killing him but he will always forgive him because he's completely obsessed

3. if they come from the past, what would they wear in the present?

hmmm... I'm not sure what you would call his style but he likes silk and neutral tones and gold jewelry. not quite beige mom, it's a little bit maximalist, but it is very neutral toned and decorative and kind of frilly (the exception being when he is following a trend, like how Vesuvian Red was trending during the plague? he bought a red suit then) maybe "whimsigoth" and "art deco" are some words that come to mind for his style

5. were they inspired by a real person?

not really inspired but sometimes I keep Cher when she was young in the back of my mind when I'm drawing his face, for reference

8. pick a show that encapsulates their style and personality

not to be predictable but he would eat Death Note up

9. how would he decorate his room?

oh he's got so many doohickeys. think, Howl's room. definitely a collector of a lot of things, he rarely comes back from the market without at least a little trinket to add. if it is shiny and it moves he will eat it up. he also likes crystals and jars of herbs

10. what video game would he not survive?

11. what sitcom trope would he be (nerd, jock, etc)

the only sitcom type thing I really engage with is mean girls and in that case he'd be under the "sexually active band geeks" category since he plays several instruments and is Very Interested In Romance

100000% he was a greek mythology kid (or the fantasy equivalent) he loves to learn about mythology in general

14. what's the dumbest thing he's done with his best friend?

with Asra? tough call. they do a lot of stupid shit together- purely because Danny is so curious and that ends up sparking Asra's curiosity too, so they end up doing some weird shit with magic

15. what does he consider to be the most beautiful thing in life?

everything. life itself. specifically nature, more specifically people

16. English or Spanish?

in universe he would probably be speaking Italian, he doesn't know any other languages or he would understand Mazelinka and Morga more

💤 SLEEPING SIGN — is your oc a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? how are their sleeping habits?

Fiona's a light sleeper, more so because of her autism and anxiety. She's constantly somewhat overwhelmed, so falling asleep itself is already a battle for her - so, staying asleep, is even harder.

With the tecnologies of the modern days, she learned to use happy hoodies (for grooming dogs), noise concealing earplugs and sleep masks, but they aren't really a hundred percent effective. Any sudden movement is still enough for her to wake up.

She's normally the first to go to bed and first to rise, of all the crew :3

🐉 DRAGON — what is your oc's favorite mythical creature?

Her favorite mythical creature is the Anhangá! Although she is German, not Brazilian, she learned about them from Madam Iraci Troupial, one of the Brazilian Ymbrynes.

Anhangás are white deer with blood-red eyes and a soft glow around them. They live alone and their mission is to protect the Amazon and its inhabitants, killing whoever hurts the forest with their giant antlers!

Anhangás where a lot more common before Brazilian colonization, but as the Portuguese explored the resources and the population started to shrink the Amazon, their numbers went down due to loss of habitat and poaching (their antlers and blood can be used in potions; eating their eyes is said to strengthen people and cure most mosquito-born diseases). Now, they are a protected species under the International Magical-Beast Protection Act (IMBPA) and are slowly but surely comming back!

(And as a disclosure, I made my own twists to the actual Anhangá folklore! They are common in some indigenous communities and their stories differ here and there; this version is made to fit my universe and is based in more than one versions of the legend)

🎶 MUSICAL NOTES — what type of music does your oc like? do they listen to music very often?

Fiona's favorite is classic music, but she's also a big fan of operas and anything-ballet! Those are the ones she's been exposed the longest to, but as she came into the modern world, she found passion for musicals!

They are like therapy for her and she actually loves to be able to sing and act - although she's mostly nonverbal, when she's on the stage, she feels way more confortable.

Natasha turned her into a theater kid 💀✨️

I usually am so skeptical about the Disney live-actions and end up loving all the nostalgia the first time I see it in the theater and then, after that has worn away, end up disliking them so much...

BUT... The Little Mermaid (2023) is not one of them!! For me, it comes close to Cinderella (2015), which is my favorite live-action to date.

BEWARE: slight spoilers under the cut!!!

The best thing about it was how true they stayed to the story of the 1989 film! No unnecessary new plot points that are there just for the sake of it, but new scenes to expand the motivations of the characters and could easily be scenes in the animated version. Like all the new Ariel & Eric bonding scenes... 10/10!!!! Especially when they are looking at the maps together, omg! What magical chemistry between Halle & Jonah!

Halle Bailey as Ariel was perfect, a powerhouse vocalist (but I never had any doubts about that!) but also she really embodied the character! And I think this was the best thing: she embodied Ariel's spirit! Her curiosity, sense of adventure, kindness, and loyalty... Which is why it comes so close to Cinderella (2015) because Lily James also really embodied Cinderella's character & spirit!

Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric... SLAY! So good, so much depth to this character, and his song is fantastic! Constantly stuck in my head 🤌����

Overall, cast was great! Most surprised by how good Melissa McCarthy was as Ursula, trailers had me worried but she did great!

Let's talk music for a second because TLM soundtrack is iconic. I loved most of the songs and the new arrangements! Alan Menken remains one of the most legendary people on this earth and can do no wrong!! I knew Lin would come through for this (although Scuttlebutt... why???). However, Under The Sea and Kiss The Girl were a little underwhelming for me personally. I was missing the choir in the background from the animated version. Maybe the VFX or budget was not enough to do all the fish with the instruments and background vocals, who knows, but that was missing for sure!

Last thing, I loved Jodi Benson's cameo, so heartwarming ❤️ and I loved how they dedicated the film to Howard Ashman 🥹 His lyrics and Alan Menken's music will really stand the test of time and it always makes me so sad that Howard is not here to see the impact he has had on so many people's lives 😔 (watch Howard & Waking Sleeping Beauty on Disney+!!!!!!!!!!!)

This was an essay sorry... I take anything related to the Disney Princesses very seriously, they are my childhood 😂 like I want them to be treated with respect! So, not 100% perfect but very very very good! Full of joy, love, and magic ❤️🥳✨️🐚🌊🧜🏾‍♀️ (kind of want to see it again)
