Ghost/Cryptid hunter au headcanons?
Oooo okay! I'm gonna go with ghost hunter cause I know basically nothing about cryptids.
Sunset Curve is fully a ghost hunting Youtube channel. Mostly spoof stuff of course, them goofing around and using special effects to make cool videos....
Until they accidentally end up involved in an actual ghost haunting. They were just checking out a creepy abandoned warehouse for an upcoming video and ended up running into SAA(Spirit Activity Agent) Molina.
Turns out that Julie works for a branch of the CIA that tracks the activity of various things that just don't want to stay dead. She works specifically with ghost and spirit cases.
At first she's just trying to get them out of there, but then the spirit she's trying to get to settle jumps out and possesses Alex for a second.
Apparently Alex is very easy to possess, so the spirit is actually able to communicate with Julie through his body.
Luke, Reggie, and Bobby are expecting them to start threatening each other, but it's actually a fairly civil conversation.
The spirit is upset about a big construction site near its grave. The workers keep going all the way through the night and it just makes so much noise, it's driving the spirit insane!
Julie promises to get in touch with them and make them keep the noise down at night as long as the spirit stops leaving creepy piles of bird feathers everywhere(no birds were harmed).
After the ghost leaves, Julie sighs and gives them her number so she can explain. No point in trying to hide it now, and the guys seem like the type to go looking for trouble.
Turns out that most of the spirits Julie handles have those sorts of complains: noise, people tearing down important structures, etc. Or they just want to deliver a message to someone who is still alive. This is usually more recently deceased folks. Julie travels all over the country figuring out ways to communicate with individual spirits and deal with the issues.
In short, a ghost hunter au where there isn't really a bunch of evil ghosts, just a bunch of normal people with problems that can't communicate them to the people causing them.
The guys are slightly disappointed by this, but they end up being contacts for Julie when she needs a bit of help on a case.
Reggie is great at calming ghosts down, Bobby can generally get the more aggressive ones to back off, Alex is weirdly easy to possess(he minds but kinda gets used to it. Eventually, he finds it interesting to see into the mind of someone else like that), and Luke is pretty good at telling when there's a ghost around. So Julie calls them in every now and then for a hand.
These were so fun and I had no idea where this was going either! Thanks for the ask!!! Sorry about how long this got...
(Send me an AU and I'll give you 5+ headcanons/thoughts about it!)

sweet like the thunder on my tongue
pairing: willex
word count: 2786
tw for light swearing
It tumbles out of his mouth before he could even think about it: “But I don’t have any powers.”
Caleb smirks. “And who told you that?”
or, in which willie realizes his true strength.
taglist is in the reblogs, fic is under the cut!
—————
“Willie?”
The skater’s head pops up, cutting off the conversation he was having to look over at his boss.
“Can I see you for a moment? In my office?” Caleb gestures toward the stairwell.
Wordlessly, Willie follows him, only growing concerned when they walk right past the office and towards another room at the end of the hall which he’d never paid any mind to before. Was that door even there before? “Caleb, what’s going on?”
Caleb opened the door to the room and ushered him inside-- well, more shoved, but who is Willie to talk back to him right now-- while all Willie could do was look around and wait for Caleb to say something. The room was dark-- pitch black, actually, and he couldn’t see anything inside. He could now barely see his own hands, if not for the single hanging light above Caleb’s head as he stood in the hallway still, blocking the doorframe. With a wave of his fingers, Caleb pushed Willie down into some kind of, apparently, vantablack chair, metal clamps fastening around his wrists as soon as he reached the seat. Caleb leaned against the doorframe, seemingly inspecting his nails. “You’ve betrayed me, William.”
Willie steels himself, squeezing his eyelids shut, and replies, “I, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” His efforts to cover his tracks were pitiful, to be completely honest. He wasn’t sure how much energy he had left at that point; before he’d met the band— before he’d met Alex— he thought that the best thing about the afterlife was that he could do what he wanted for as long as he wanted, day in and day out, as long as he came back to the club to do the shows. But now, his entire perspective has been shaken up, and he’s honestly gotten sick of doing the same things every single day. Why should he go see the same sights he’s seen since 1983 when he could be screaming in a museum, or stealing an entire fucking bus, or anything that can actually make a connection between him and another person?
Except, now he can’t even do that anymore. His connections are gone. They all crossed over (except for Julie, who never saw him in the first place), and he was left to his own devices, again. Willie isn’t sure what else there is for him to do, and in all transparency, if he hasn’t figured out his unfinished business yet, he doubts he ever will. Caleb putting him out of his misery now would probably just save him a lot of trouble.
“Don’t be coy,” Caleb jabs at him, standing up straight. “After all I’ve done for you? I gave you a place to stay, food to eat, things to do, and this is how you repay me? You help my recruits escape?”
Willie sighs, the helplessness beginning to overwhelm him. “What does it matter, anyway? They’ve crossed over, you don’t have competition anymore, right?”
“William, the boys are still out there. And they’ve lost their stamps.” Willie freezes. They lost their stamps? Alex is alive— or, at least, as alive as he can be? “Regardless, I have never been worried about competition. Those boys have power, power that could rival my own. I can’t just have that out there in the world, where it could fall into the wrong hands, now, can I?” Caleb sneers, a sickenly sweet smirk on his face.
Furrowing his brows, Willie rushes out in reply, “They’re playing in a pop rock band, they’re practically harmless, what could they even—”
“You don’t get it, do you?” Caleb interrupts, his icy eyes boring into Willie’s own.
Willie shuts his mouth and swallows his nerves. And maybe his pride.
Caleb leans forward, his hands gripping the arms of the chair. “I can’t have anyone’s power rival my own. That would steal away my precious audience, my empire that I’ve built over the last hundred years. Every ghost in my club would otherwise be a threat to me, had they not signed away their powers when they sold me their souls. With their powers under my possession, I have full reign over any paranormal capabilities that this world could possibly hold.” He stands back up. “I’ve kept my enemies close, you could say.”
It tumbles out of his mouth before he could even think about it: “But I don’t have any powers.”
Caleb smirks. “And who told you that?”
Willie was looking right at him. He feels no need to answer, and even if he wanted to, his mouth is going dry and there’s a lump in his throat preventing him from doing anything other than remaining still.
“Don’t get your hopes up about the boys still being here, William,” Caleb says after a moment. “They won’t be when you get out.” He slams the door, leaving Willie in the room, with nothing but dark, dark, dark, alone.
***
“Alright, where’s our first stop?” Luke asks as Julie shrugs her backpack over her shoulder and takes a sip from her water bottle. She and the boys were walking down Sunset Boulevard, her with Airpods in so she could talk to the boys without getting odd looks from others. Julie was planning a sleepover with Flynn for the following night, and the boys jumped at the chance to help her run errands, since hanging out in the studio was getting a little boring.
“Can we stop for pizza? I know we can’t eat it, but at least I can smell it!” Reggie pleads, using his puppy dog eyes.
“Reg, that face only works on Luke and Alex. You can smell it tomorrow night when she’s over, yeah?” Julie jokes. “I was thinking—”
A dark, purple smoke appears in front of them, causing them to stumble and still themselves, the boys’ faces all paling once they realize who’s in front of them.
Caleb smiles, sickeningly sweet. “Hello, boys. And you must be Julie.”
***
He has powers.
Willie has powers, and he hadn’t known this entire fucking time.
This guy, who was supposed to be Willie’s mentor for the past, who knows, thirty-ish years now, who he had once looked up to, who had taken him in has his own, who had given him a way to keep track of time again, who somehow knew he had powers that he couldn’t manage on his own, did all of it for his own advantage. He used him to gain more power and control, while making Willie think he cared. Thirty fucking years.
Right now, he’s trapped in this room, yeah, but Willie feels more suffocated by the hurt and confusion surrounding him more than anything else. He can’t stand that Alex and the boys are probably out there right now, about to be destroyed by Caleb, because of him, again. He hates that nearly all of his afterlife has just been a giant fucking lie. And with these stupid new-but-not-really powers, he doesn’t even know where to start. So, he does what he knows best.
Willie screams.
He cries a bit too, but mostly he screams until his voice grows hoarse.
Ever since he passed away, he’s always loved the feeling that grows in his chest when he screams, knowing that he can just take up so much space without anyone (or at least, anyone important) hearing. It hurts sometimes, obviously, but really it just feels like lightning forming in his veins, sparking against his the walls of his skin, ready to burst through.
He doesn’t notice until he takes a gasp for air that this time, it actually has.
Willie gasps again, this time in shock. It’s a bright, brilliant green, wires of light darting across his fingertips and palms. He doesn’t know what to do with it.
Willie squeezes his eyes shut and makes two fists, willing the stinging of the lightning to go away by distracting himself with the stinging of his own fingernails. He realizes then that he’s created light, that he’s given himself a way out, so he reopens his hands and holds them out, looking for the door that Caleb had previously slammed. He spots it and moves to get up, almost forgetting about his arm braces. He curses under his breath, and begins to rack his brain for a way out of them, the green still dancing around his arms.
He screams again.
***
They’d been cornered into an alleyway, which was probably best for any bystander’s sanity, anyway, but it meant that they were trapped by Caleb. Again.
“What do you want with us?” Luke had asked when Caleb first appeared, walking in front of Julie with a guarding arm.
Caleb had sighed in reply, taking a step forward, “Oh, I’ve decided I don’t need you three anymore. You’re not of any use to me, not without your lifer by your side. Without a life source, you’re about as powerful as any other regular ghost. I just need her.”
Luke stood fully in front of Julie then, Reggie and Alex flanking him to protect her. “You will never get to her,” Alex had chimed in, ice in his tone.
“Bold statement from someone who still chooses to hide behind his friends.” Alex had looked down at his shoes in shame, face turning red. “Oh, don’t worry, we all know you’re not brave enough to take me on by yourself,” Caleb chuckled to himself. “Besides, you boys seem to have forgotten how powerful I am— or can we do without the reminder?” Caleb added, lifting his hand as a wisp of purple smoke curled around it.
Now, after putting up a decent fight, they stand against the building as dark purple webs tangle over them, effectively pinning them down. Julie strains against them as they burn into her skin, pointedly not looking at Caleb who is inches away. Caleb puts a finger to her chin, causing her to look into his eyes. Julie sucks on her teeth, willing herself not to cry any more than she already has. “Quite a shame that such talent, such heart has to go to waste,” Caleb says, before his hand begins to glow in a manner that Julie knows could only lead to her demise.
He’s interrupted, however, by a slew of car alarms going off. Caleb swivels his head to look over at the main road, now realizing that it’s… empty?
Almost moving to walk over, Caleb hesitates just enough for the webs’ strength to weaken, and the boys poof out of their hold. They immediately begin trying to pull the web of magic off of Julie, succeeding in doing so once they notice that Caleb’s attention is no longer on them. He’s in the road now, staring down the horizon line.
“He’s distracted now, let’s poof to the studio to buy some time,” Reggie says, but Luke quickly counters, “Julie can’t poof. We would have to go back down the road, anyway.”
While Luke and Reggie are trying to figure out what to do, Julie’s eyes stray over to Alex, who is now peering around the corner of the building, eyebrows furrowed. He suddenly runs over to the road, and Julie calls after him. The three run to catch up to Alex and stand in terror just a few feet behind Caleb, who is still seemingly frozen in place.
They feel it before they can see it.
The hair on their arms and the backs of their necks begin to stand on end, a quiet humming in the atmosphere causing an adrenaline rush kind of energy around them. The humming thrums into a pulse, concentrating around what Caleb must’ve been looking at; a sharp, sparking green light floating in the air down the road. It grows bigger and bigger, until a silhouette suddenly appears in its place, looking at the ground. “Hey, Caleb!”
Alex’s heart stops when he realizes who it is.
Willie looks up from the ground and begins to make his way over, thunderous step by thunderous step. His eyes shine fully in bright green, almost like the lightning inside of him was leaking out. He reaches forward and a beam of crackling light shoots forward, splitting and clasping itself around Caleb’s wrists in constraint. With rumbling intensity, Willie continues, “You lied to me. You’ve been lying to me my entire afterlife, pretending to care. Every time you stamped someone, you told me it was because they would be dangerous otherwise, that you were just ‘protecting the ghost world’, and then you turn and do it to my friends. You’ve hurt me, you’ve hurt the people I care about, and it doesn’t even matter to you. I don’t even want to know the number of other ghosts you’ve screwed over like you have us.” Willie heaves in a breath, his arm beginning to shake as Caleb tries to overpower him with his own powers. “I can’t let you do this anymore.”
Caleb grits through his teeth, “You don’t get much of a say, William, I own you.”
“Not anymore.” Willie screams again, causing the beam shooting out of his palm to reinforce itself, the sparks around Caleb’s wrists slowly crawling around his skin until it looked like his veins were filled with light. “You aren’t strong enough to beat me, William, I know you more than you know yourself. You can’t do this,” Caleb tries, but Willie just screams louder, drowning him out.
The screams nearly shake the air, causing Julie to lean on Luke for support, with Reggie resting a hand on her shoulder. Alex wants to reach out, to do something, but he knows there’s nothing he really can do to help. He knew Willie was one of a kind, it was obvious from every interaction they’d had up to that point, but he never expected him to be that powerful. It was terrifying, if he was being honest. And Alex didn’t want to be scared of him, especially while he was literally putting his life on the line for them, but it was almost as if Willie was losing control.
Wait.
A small, dwindling purple smoke emits from Caleb’s palms, encircling the cuffs on his wrists, and the green light inside of him dims. Willie is panting in between his screams, running out of energy. Inhaling sharply, Alex doesn’t think twice before bolting over to him, ignoring the protests from his friends.
Alex stands behind him and grips his hands onto Willie’s shoulders, focusing all of his energy into his fingertips, just like he had on that day in the museum. And, just like that day, he screams with Willie, hoping and praying to a god he no longer believes in that it helps, that it works.
It does.
The lightning bursts out at a rapid speed, nearly enveloping Caleb, almost as if it was tearing him apart, atom by atom. It grows brighter, and brighter, and brighter, until—
He’s gone. Small ashes lie in the spot where Caleb once stood, now dissipated into thin air.
Willie collapses to the ground in exhaustion and Alex grasps onto him, as if he’ll disappear himself if he lets go. After a brief moment, Willie takes a sharp breath, wincing in a burning, stinging type of pain, and lets out a breath of relief once it goes away. He knows exactly what that was, he could feel it; his soul was finally back in his body.
Willie looks down at his wrist. The familiar stamp from the Hollywood Ghost Club is still there, however it no longer has its signature purple sheen. It’s black and faded now, like a thirty-year-old tattoo he’s come to regret.
“Are you okay?” Alex asks, pulling away, his face the picture of worry. Willie notices then that Julie, Luke, and Reggie are knelt next to him, too, their own expressions almost as bad as Alex’s.
Willie smiles a sad smile. It’s a weak thing, but it’s genuine. “You’re still here.”
Recognition washes over Alex’s face, and he softly lifts his hand to Willie’s chin. “Of course I am. I told you, I’d follow you anywhere, yeah?”
Willie chuckles and ducks his head. “Yeah, well, somehow, you did.”
Alex lightly pulls on his chin so he can look him in the eye, a burning intensity present there that Willie hasn’t seen in, well, thirty years. “We can explain that later, okay? I just want to make sure you’re okay.”
Willie does a small nod. “I will be.”
Alex pulls him back into a tight hug, and Willie sinks into his arms. He knows they’ll both ask questions later; all that matters right now is that they’re there, that they’ve got each other.
And now, they always will.

JULIE AND THE PHANTOMS!
Hey guys, so I just finished watching JATP and I am absolutely obsessed with it! The songs, the characters, the plot - it’s just beautiful how the creators have brought to life this light, whimsical but also very heartfelt and warm show and I am so glad to see the wonderful reception from the fandom here on Tumblr and other social media outlets because the more reception, the more likely the show will come back for season 2 - which, I think we can all agree is something we all want to see (OH, and the TOURRRR)
But I couldn’t help but notice that there is some budding tension in the fandom concerning the controversy over shipping the characters Julie Molina and Luke Patterson, which I have noticed makes a lot of people uncomfortable (and I understand).
But I got some red flags when I saw words like predatory and sickening were labelled to the ship, and specifically to Luke as a character (and the casting team). I also noticed people attacking others for shipping Luke and Julie and I felt like I needed to say something.
So, as you probably can tell, I ship Juke or Jukebox as some people have started to call them (which I think is really cute). I only ship Juke, I do not under any circumstances ship the actors because 1) I dont ship actors as a principal because too many times have actors and the relationships they have held with others in their life been damaged because of people taking the chemistry they demonstrate with their onscreen relationship out of context 2) Maddy is underaged and I don’t ship child actors at all especially with 3) their co-actors, especially if they’re over 18 like Charlie is because 4) they have a very controversial age gap.
Now that I have gotten that out of the road, I was to explain why I ship Juke - and I can’t believe I feel so anxious about defending myself for wanting to see the relationship/friendship explored with Julie and Luke over the seasons but I understand.
1. The characters themselves are 2 years apart. It’s an interracial relationship and I love the representation with Juke as well as with Willex. Maddy has promoted and publicly shipped the idea of Julie and Luke as a couple on social media and I think that if she was okay with it, than it shouldn’t be a problem (we’re the same age and i could see how, as a actress who would have the emotional and mental capacity to consent to acting out romantic scenes, it would be ok - keep in mind, it is a G-PG teens show so it would be limited to kissing. Wishing for anything beyond that to be presented as canon is wrong and I can admit that without any shame or regret). Julie canonically has a crush on Luke and Luke has canonically confirmed strong feelings/ chemistry with and for Julie. I love seeing this demonstrated when they are singing, songwritng, performing and dancing and even during really soft or playful moments like Unsaid Emily and Edge of Great and would like to see more of these really powerful moments between the two characters as the show progresses.
2. Be that as it may, I don’t want the characters to get together in the second season. I still believe that this show is primarily about Julie and the Phantoms, a band of friends consisting of a girl rediscovering her love and passion for music and continuing to do what she loves in her mom’s memory and three boys who died before they could make their dreams come true. The Orpheum was their first step to becoming legends and I don’t believe that’s over yet.
3. I also love the idea that Charlie and Maddy both have implied that they want Luke and Julie to build a strong, formidable friendship in the show before they even consider acting on any romantic notions and I support this and would look forward to seeing it! It would be great to see how their friendship, and she friendship she has with Alex and Reggie, grows and evolves over the show. Some people might argue that this will be boring and would slow the seemingly fast progress of the bond that has been shaped but I don’t think so.
There is so many subplots for the show to explore based off of what the show creators gave us in season 1:
- The obvious, Caleb possessing Nick. I have seen the Juke shippers jump right onto this one and saying how Caleb (as Nick) trying to get closer and make moves on Julie would make Luke jealous but I think we have seen a bit of that already from when Luke first interacted (kinda) with Nick when he and Julie were talking by the lockers. I think that the Caleb subplot would not only be a good idea to show how Luke will be conflicted with how he feels about it, but it would also show how Julie might be conflicted with her own feelings if she sees Nick presenting a different attitude. As to Caleb’s true motives, this presents the opportunity for some advenutre kind tropes where Julie and the Phantoms have to stop Caleb and save Nick from possession. Both Caleb and Nick have demonstrated an affintiy for performing (Nick with guitar and Caleb with singing) so that will be interesting to see. Also Willie is still under Caleb’s thumb so that will cause some angst and tension between himself and Alex.
- Willie and Alex’s relationship has a chance to develop. The last time they saw each other, Willie thought that Alex was crossing over so I think it will be super cute to see their reunion. (Boo Boo Stewart is a cutie) so I’m interested in seeing him and the Phantoms interact. Also - I kind of want to see him and Julie meet. I want to see if Julie’s ability to see ghosts extends to all ghosts or just the boys (this can relate back to the Phantoms connection to her mother and that can be explored).
- I want Reggie and Alex’s backgrounds to be developed and explored with music and with their friends. They didnt get much bonding moments with her and I want to see their friendship with Julie grow like Julie and Alex talking about relationships and Willie and Julie and Reggie talking about how he sees Ray as a father figure and how this might relate back to his own family history.
- Carlos knows about the boys being ghosts and I want to see how that will play into everything. I know that Reggie has shown to be playful and indulgent in his ‘Ghost Hunting’ hobby so maybe they can have some fun playing pranks on Aunt Victoria.
- I want to see Flynn’s character become more involved in the Phantoms and helping Julie reach her dreams but I also want Flynn’s dreams to be introduced and to be explored because she is such a fun and relatable character - and her and Julie’s friendship is pure - and she deserves to have a storyline independent of that or dominant and explored.
- I want more flashbacks too of Carrie and Julie’s friendship, of the boys when they were still alive, of Julie’s mom and how her connection with Sunset Curve was forged. I just think that would be super cool to see.
- Bobby has now seen the boys perform with Julie, finally achieving their dream performance at the Orpheum so I wonder how that will go on. I want to see the boys confront him and I want to see like some real shit going down on why and how he could cheat them out of their music. They were his friends and they died and he stole their dreams, their musics, their very souls laid bare on paper and I feel like that’s some good angst.
- Like I said before, it’s a show about Julie and the Phantoms and they want to make it big. After the Orpheum, it will be interesting to see them go on to play at other venues, tackle getting involved in the music industry and making more songs. I WANT MORE SONGSSS BRUH.
- Guys, if Julie and the Phantoms are going to become stars sometime in the show, they’ll be pretty famous. Like maybe they’re going to be on TV and they’re supposed to be dead and what happens if Luke’s parents see him like Bobby did? WHat will ahppen then?!
- As for romantic relationships (besides Juke and Willex) I want to see Reggie have a love interest or maybe even come out as Bi. That would be so cool! As a fellow bisexual, I think that would demonstrate a lot of representation to not only have a openly gay character (maybe two bec Willie’s sexuality hasn’t been confirmed yet but fingers crossed) but also a bi character. Maybe another ghost ? I want to see more ghosttss.
As for how I want Julie and Luke’s relationships to be explored:
- MORE MUSICCCCCC (because I feel the safetest bet right now considering, I feel everyone agrees that their music chemistry is A+ and gives their performances some fire😉)
- Some shenanagins with them and the rest of the Phantoms (+ Flynn) like them being actual teenagers (the boys were 17 when they died and I think that’s pretty sad as a 17 year old) and showing up at school and Alex dancing with Carrie when she throws Dirty Candy performances. I think it would be funny if the two of them ever met.
- Luke making fun of Nick (jealoussyyy) and him and Julie bickering like they always do. Maybe Flynn and the boys making fun of them both. Flynn will definently want to protect her friend after seeing what a wreck she was before the performance when she thought the boys might have crossed over or gotten destroyed by Caleb’s curse, so she might convince Julie to keep her distance like in ‘Edge of Great’. Alex and Reggie will make fun of Luke def. No questions. It’s what they do best but they love each other.
- Guys, they can’t just ignore Perfect Harmony like - come on. Like, if Luke goes snooping inside Julie’s dream box (because, let’s face it, it’s sitting right there and it’s full of LYRICS people and he loves MUSIC and he loves JULIE’S MUSIC and - yeah, come on.) I also think it would be funny to see more of Julie saying Luke’s name by accident or daydreaming because I thought - ACTUAL TEENAGE GIRL REPRESENTATION!
- More fighting because her and Luke have such strong, dominant personalities and I can see them clashing in the future over the direction they want the band to go in and, more or less, petty teenage stuff.
- Possibly being more diverse with their style of music like in Perfect Harmony and Unsaid Emily. Maybe exploring some really deep and emotional lyrics and changing it up with their performance (although, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE THAT BIT WHERE JULIE DOES THAT HIGH NOTE AT THE START OF THE SONG AND THAN THE BOYS JUST ROCK IN LIKE LEGENDS AND - ) but yeah, I want to cry again like I did in Unsaid Emily so.
Anyway, feel free to add what you guys most look forward to but the whole point of this was I want this fandom to be a fun, free and safe environment. So don’t ship actors, I don’t support sexualizing child actors and don’t expect Luke or Julie’s relationship to go past the soft, chaste, fluffy kisses you see at 16/17 because it is a kids show and once again because Maddy is underage and her and Charlie’s age gap is controversial. But shipping Juke isn’t predatory because Luke isn’t a predator, the character is 17, 1-2 years older than Julie. It’s a kids show and it’s very tender, very pure and very sweet. We have seen nothing to contradict this so don’t make it something it’s not.
Anyway that’s my two cents so don’t @ me to yell at me, okay?

Okay but picture this:
Caleb possessing Nick but Nick still having some control.
So, Nick resurfaces at awkward times. Sometimes asking Julie what time it is and what's happened but Julie shakes it off because maybe Nick is having a hard time at home or something.
Throughout the season, we see Willie and Alex getting closer.. Alex and Willie have a moment where it's late at night, Willie is skating and he suddenly gets flashbacks to the night he died. It causes Willie to fall and for a split second, he's back there.. laying on the ground, paramedics all around him. The driver of the car is hyperventilating on the side of the road. Willie is officially dead. He feels cold and scared and he just wants to go back home and laugh as his mom worries for the 10,000th time that his "adrenaline hits" are going to really hurt him one day.
And before he realizes it, he's breathing hard and crying. Alex doesn't know what to do when somebody else is having a panic attack so he just tells Willie to look at him.
He starts turning his spare drumstick in his hand; slowly. He counts softly as he does it. When Willie is calm enough, Alex holds him because there's really nothing else he can do. And even though there's no heartbeat, Willie still closes his eyes and hums to its beat all the same.
Luke and Julie are getting closer too. Now that they can actually touch each other, he's taken to sneaking up behind her. Wrapping his arms around her waist and even though he does it once a day, Julie still jumps and screams. Their song writing has gotten better and better and Flynn notes on it by saying often which one of her beats matches them
Julie has started to think about how long this'll last. How long until the guys -Luke included- really do have to move on. Or how long until Julie does? Because she is growing, she's maturing and she can't necessarily introduce Luke to her family over awkward-first meeting-dinner.
But Luke still holds her tight when she gets overwhelmed and she thinks that enough for now.
Bobby/Trevor has been obsessed with figuring out just how his former bandmates could be alive...well, alive enough. Carrie still harbors a grudge but she doesn't roll her eyes when she passes Julie and Flynn in the hall so that's something.
Richie has been visiting his folks a lot.. moreso his little sister. She's grown up to be a beautiful young woman who loves to write. She writes letters to Richie whenever a monumental occasion happens. She stuffs them in a little box underneath her bed and says a silent prayer that he's okay.
Then the final ep is of Caleb taking full control of Nick; taking Julie and Willie hostage. Bobby provides the abandoned garage. Now that he's possessing Nick, Caleb can touch humans which means he can hurt humans. And so he hurts Willie. "Because I'm not a barbarian" he says. He tortures Julie another way, by using his magic to make her see Luke dying, her mom dying, EVERYONE DYING because Julie can't cope with being alone; not fully.
The guys found out and Luke wants to go all in, barging through the doors and saving Julie. Alex does his best to be calm and just remember Willie's humming. Richie does a quick check-in to see if his sister is in her room- she's not.

However in 2006, the PBA was talented with the ideal tempest as a profoundly touted Fil-Am by the name of Kelly Williams proclaimed for the draft, busting larger part of formcharts which, for a very long time, had double cross UAAP MVP Arwind Santos at the highest point of their rundowns.
The discussion proceeds up right up ’til today, with both Williams and Santos winning MVP grants just as towing their groups to the highest point of the mountain.
Be that as it may, it is anything but a two-man horse race, with the class of 2006 additionally winning its differentiation as outstanding amongst other draft pools throughout the entire existence of the group.
Investigate how the first round would have played out.
1. Arwind Santos (Sta. Lucia)
Where was he chosen? second by and large, Air21
Who was singled out this spot? Kelly Williams
It’s actually an intense decision and even up to now, it could go in any case. Yet, for this redraft, we’re picking Santos to be leader of the class.
Simply envision the bleeding edge Sta. Lucia will have, with “The Spiderman” collaborating with veterans Marlou Aquino, Dennis Espino, and Kenneth Duremdes. Not exclusively will the 6-foot-4 forward from Far Eastern University gain from these world class gifts, however will likewise give the establishment a future foundation to work around.
Inquisitively, this situation would’ve likewise joined Santos up with a gatekeeper named Alex Cabagnot, who was then in his sophomore season with the Alfrancis Chua-instructed Realtors.
All things considered, Williams won a MVP in his second season in the PBA. Would Santos make a similar progress in a similar way had this dream worked out?
2. Kelly Williams (Air21)
Where was he chosen? first in general, Sta. Lucia
Who was singled out this spot? Arwind Santos
You truly can’t turn out badly in case you’re at No. 2, and Air21 would have been remunerated with taking Williams at this spot. What’s more, it just would’ve implied a certain something: the Express will have one of the most athletic bleeding edges in the alliance.
Not exclusively was Williams fortifying an Air21 side which previously highlighted the adaptable Ranidel de Ocampo, the high-flying Nino Canaleta, and bruisers Mark Telan and Ervin Sotto.
It would have been such a treat for mentor Bo Perasol to deal with the Express, particularly this was the year Gary David developed as the association’s Most Improved Player.
To us, it was as yet a success win circumstance for the best two picks.
3. LA Tenorio (Coca Cola)
Where was he chosen? fourth by and large, San Miguel
Who was singled out this spot? Joseph Yeo
Subsequent to discharging Johnny Abarrientos only weeks before the beginning of the new season, Coca Cola will have a more than capable torchbearer as Tenorio.
Demonstrating his value at Ateneo, the 5-foot-9 gatekeeper would have immediately earned his spikes in the Tigers under mentor Binky Favis. He’d likewise give an ideal contrast to the protective disapproved Denok Miranda at one while additionally preparing the table for Ali Peek and John Arigo.
With Tenorio managing everything in his first year, we see Coca Cola some way or another creation commotion as opposed to simply bowing out right off the bat in the end of the season games.
4. Joseph Yeo (San Miguel)
Where was he chosen? third by and large, Coca Cola
Who was singled out this spot? LA Tenorio
The rich by one way or another would’ve gotten more extravagant as Yeo joined a San Miguel group overflowing with ability. The dauntless gatekeeper from La Salle would have been an ideal reinforcement for beginning shooting watch Dondon Hontiveros in his first year in the class.
Yeo would likewise appreciate the advantage of gaining from any semblance of Olsen Racela, Chris Calaguio, Kiko Adriano, and previous university rival Wesley Gonzales as an extraordinary off-the-seat choice for the Beermen of mentor Chot Reyes.
Yeo in the end discovered his approach to SMB four years after the fact, yet simply envision how large of a distinction he would have accommodated the Beermen, particularly in the 2007 Philippine Cup where they made it to the Finals.
5. Gabby Espinas (San Miguel)
Where was he chosen? fifth generally, San Miguel
Who was singled out this spot? Gabby Espinas
Nothing changed here as Espinas, a previous NCAA MVP, stays fifth in our redraft.
The PCU stud to a great extent played behind any semblance of Seigle, the returning Danny Ildefonso, and acquisitions Lordy Tugade, Rommel Adducul, and Willy Wilson in his first season in San Miguel.
Espinas got his licks in his new kid on the block season however just went through a year with the Beermen before he was inevitably exchanged to Air21. The 6-foot-4 forward discovered his way back to SMB in 2015 and turned into a piece of six title winning Beermen groups.
6. Imprint Isip (Sta. Lucia)
Where was he chosen? sixth by and large, Sta. Lucia
Who was singled out this spot? Imprint Isip
Sta. Lucia likewise aced this one, picking Isip at six.
In any case, not at all like, all things considered, it would’ve proceeded with organization for Isip and Santos as they remain colleagues with the Realtors, continuing their executioner blend from Far Eastern University.
What’s more, if Sta. Lucia pushed on with its middle of the season exchange which sent Duremdes, Cabagnot, and Ricky Calimag to Coke, it would have finished the Tamaraws trio with Miranda additionally joining the Realtors.
That combo conveyed UAAP titles (one of which was disputable, obviously) to Morayta. Might they be able to likewise have done that for Sta. Lucia?
7. Jireh Ibanes (Alaska)
Where was he chosen? eleventh (second round), Welcoat
Who was singled out this spot? Aaron Aban
As dependable as they came, Ibanes would have been an extraordinary off-the-seat choice for Alaska.
Truly, new kids on the block scarcely got a lot of playing time under mentor Tim Cone, yet the UP champion had substantiated himself as a strong utility person – one that could’ve added profundity and adaptability to the Aces’ stockpile.
What’s more, he would have proved to be useful, soothing weight from individual wingers like Jeffrey Cariaso and Tony dela Cruz while additionally being an irritation on edge end against the resistance.
Ibanes may not be as sparkly as a choice as his friends, however at seven, he should be viewed as a take.
8. Aaron Aban (Talk ‘N Text)
Where was he chosen? seventh in general, Alaska
Who was singled out this spot? Macintosh Andaya
Had Aban fell on Talk ‘N Text’s lap in 2006, he wouldn’t have sat tight for four long a very long time before he joined the Manny V. Pangilinan-possessed establishment. Be that as it may, he did in this redraft, quickly collaborating with Jimmy Alapag and Harvey Carey.
Aban, who substantiated himself as a consistent turn in TNT’s hero groups in the mid 2010s, would carry his equivalent coarseness to the Derrick Pumaren-instructed Phone Pals.
What’s more, he’d be a convenient reliever for super scorer Mac Cardona, who won the Best Player of the Conference grant in the 2007 Fiesta Conference, while additionally parting time with veterans Donbel Belano and Vic Pablo.
9. Chico Lanete (Purefoods)
Where was he chosen? Undrafted
Who was singled out this spot? Boyet Bautista
Difficult to accept that a gatekeeper as strong as Lanete went undrafted in the 2006 Draft. In any case, we’re correcting a wrong here, and too bad, the Lyceum champion despite everything wound up with Purefoods, the group which took him from the free specialist pool a year later.
Lanete would have had a ton to demonstrate in this stacked Chunkee Giants backcourt, with mentor Ryan Gregorio getting a charge out of the advantage of having ruling MVP James Yap, Mythical Team part Roger Yap, national player Noy Castillo, and upstarts Peter June Simon and Paul Artadi.
However in the event that there was something we think about this 6-foot watch, he conveyed in whatever circumstance he ended up in, as found in his 13-year profession.
10. Chris Pacana (Welcoat)
Where was he chosen? fifteenth (second round), Coca Cola
Who was singled out this spot? Abby Santos
Pacana gets approval as the last pick in the first round, joining newcomer Welcoat.
The 6-foot-1 Fil-Am monitor would’ve been an invite expansion to the Leo Austria-tutored Dragons, putting him next to each other with Joey Mente, Froilan Baguion, Jojo Tangkay, and Denver Lopez.
Future was hopeless for Welcoat in this first season, similar to the case for every single new group in the PBA, yet by then Pacana was expected for his second. Simply take a gander at how he made his quality felt for Ginebra in its drive to the title in the 2008 Fiesta Conference.

One reason you can be sure HBO’s Sharp Objects is a true Southern Gothic is that when its debutante gloves finally unpeel, you don’t just get an effusion of secrets and darkness and a lot of deep-buried social dysfunction. In episode six, “Cherry,” once the passive-aggressive politeness starts to give away to truth-telling, you also get some unhinged wildness: ear-biting, some light incest, some heavy sociopathy, and a literal shit pit.
Yes, the intensity and the memories are ramping up for Camille as she revisits her hometown of Wind Gap, Missouri. But in “Cherry,” there are also some significant developments in the case, in case you were so distracted by all the sociopathy and incest you forgot there were murders to solve.
Granted, we don’t learn much about the murders. But what we do learn is weighty.
Like every episode before it, “Cherry” stints on procedural case-file crime-solving and delivers juicy drama, reams of gossip, and subtext thicker than summer heat in a tent revival. In this go-round, director Jean-Marc Vallée puts the focus back on Amma’s relationship with Camille, as our favorite teen fatale lures her older sister through a typical suburban house party, where Amma gets into a brief fight with John Keene (the brother of murder victim No. 2, Natalie) and his girlfriend Ashley over their mutual suspicions of each other.
We get a brief sis-on-sis kiss, then a rare moment of sisterly bonding that doesn’t feel entirely manipulative on Amma’s part — at least until she asks Camille to take her back to St. Louis with her.
It’s a revealing moment for both sisters. Amma, who admits openly that none of her friends like her, but she knows how to control them, calls Camille her “soulmate,” then laughs, saying that maybe this is what a bond of sisterhood feels like. Camille, drugged out and feeling pretty great about it, keeps having flashbacks to all the dead girls she’s loved before — her dead younger sister, Marianne, and her dead hospital roommate — but she lets herself give in to Amma anyway.
Meanwhile, Camille’s threadbare relationship with her mother is almost worn through; after last week’s ice-cold declaration from Adora that she never loved her daughter, this week mom wants daughter out of the house. Camille is dragging her feet, though, in part because new facts about the crime are emerging, and in part because of her developing feelings for Detective Willis, who’s doing a little investigation into Camille’s ill-fated stint in the hospital where her roommate died by suicide. And probably there’s plenty of reluctant love there for Amma, too.
And we also get some major murder clues! Camille notices that someone appears to have bitten off a huge chunk of Ashley’s ear, which is about as disturbing to look at in the episode as it is to write out. When Camille confronts her about this, asking if Natalie might have done it when she was being murdered, Ashley hisses that if Camille wants to know about Natalie, she should ask the girl’s mother.
And speaking of another dead girl, we still don’t know how Camille’s sister Marianne died, though in this episode someone finally asks if anyone ever conducted an autopsy. “Of course not,” Adora’s best friend Jackie tells Detective Willis; Adora wouldn’t allow her to be “carved up.” (At this point I think we can probably go ahead and put “best friend” in irony quotes, yikes, Jacks.)
Finally, the biggest clue: workers at Adora’s pig farm pull the bike of Ann Nash, the first victim — which she was riding when she disappeared — out of a sludge pond. Later, one of the workers claims he saw John Keene bury it there. Naturally, this doesn’t look good for John. For one thing, there’s Bob Nash’s cut-off assertion from an earlier episode that he saw John up to suspicious behavior while working at the pig farm; and there’s Adora’s quick-firing of him from the farm for unknown reasons.
But we also know one other suspect who’s fond of hanging around the slaughterhouse: Amma. And given that Sharp Objects has leaned very hard into signaling that the murderer is a woman, it’s probably high time we look at the evidence for and against our favorite burgeoning Machiavellian.
I’m going to split with my colleague Alex Abad-Santos here and say that I don’t think it’s Amma — though I agree it’s highly telling that no one has suspected her (except John Keene, who clearly thinks she’s a criminal).
For one thing, since she’s the only current suspect we know who was super-friendly with the murder victims, she’s the too-obvious frontrunner. But more importantly, I don’t believe that the tools in Amma’s toolbox — weaponized femininity, emotional manipulation, and secret knowledge — are really joined with sociopathy.
True, we’ve seen her manipulate and cajole Camille and her friends throughout the series, and we’ve seen her manipulate and lie to her mother while effectively creating a double life for herself. And she does apparently read Machiavelli, which, okay, Amma, you do you, girl.
But her manipulation of her mother has, so far, been about creating that double life, and gaining some unhealthy recreational escapism, all because she’s bored. That’s pretty typical teenage fare.
And while her ugliest moments — the lollipop in Camille’s hair, her forcing Camille to reveal her body in the previous episode, and her choice to create a giant drama by running into the woods on Calhoun Day — have all been very ugly, indeed, they’ve also revolved around her need for love and attention from Camille. She puts the used lollipop in Camille’s hair after seeing her with Detective Willis and reacting out of jealousy; she runs into the woods after realizing that Camille’s not paying any attention to her performance because she’s chatting with Willis instead of watching her. She steals Camille’s clothes in the dressing room out of anger that Camille didn’t share her article with her before she published it for the whole town.
Though we have zero reason to believe Amma’s actually sexually attracted to her older sister (except that it wouldn’t be Gothic without a little incest), she’s clearly gotten possessive of her, fast. This makes sense, because up until now she’s been living a doll’s life for a terrifying mother, among shallow friends who don’t understand her. She clearly wants Camille to idolize her as much as she idolizes Camille. But is that sociopathy or just loneliness? My money’s on loneliness.
I also think that Sharp Objects has been trying to present a clear distinction between the kinds of weapons that give a woman power in a town like Wind Gap and the kind that don’t. Amma’s weapons (her femininity, a growing cache of secrets) give her power over the people around her, and they render her dangerous — as well as vulnerable to anyone who might know more than she does.
But we’ve also seen the kind of weapons that don’t work. Ashley’s attempt to manipulate the narrative of the murders on John’s behalf fails because she doesn’t know enough; she tells Camille they won’t be “outcasts” but ends up getting jeered out of the house party by teens. And Camille’s internalization of the trauma and abuse she’s suffered is literally written all over her, but her turning inward and retreating from Wind Gap has only made her a target for gossip and judgment upon her return home. Trying to make a power move too early in the game of secrets won’t help you win — but concealing what you know forever only leaves you vulnerable.
It’s significant, then, that Sharp Objects jettisons the completely linear, bird’s-eye-view viewpoint we saw last episode on Calhoun Day to put us deeper than ever into Camille’s masterfully edited, jittery, deteriorating mental state. As Camille’s relationships unravel, so does her memory; when Amma’s history teacher — who’s also one of the football players who gang-raped Camille years earlier — tries to apologize to her, she reacts, to his horror, as though she barely remembers what he’s talking about.
When she hangs out with her old cheerleading friends, now all mainly settled conservative suburbanites, she tries to apologize to the team’s sole black cheerleader for how they all treated her, only to be blown off in turn. Memory is another deceptive weapon that Camille is still learning to wield; without it, she can’t control her narrative. And it’s clear at this point that Camille’s narrative is tied to Ann and Natalie’s murders — and to Marianne’s.
Is Camille repressing knowledge of her sister’s murder? Does Adora want her to scram because she’s digging too deep and getting too close? Does Amma want to be more than just sisters?
I’m guessing (hoping?) the answer to all these questions is yes, and with just two episodes to go, I can’t wait to see how Sharp Objects delivers.
Original Source -> Sharp Objects’ most obvious suspect may not be the murderer, but she’s still dangerous

Fox’s The Exorcist Season 2, Episode 8: “A Heaven of Hell” Directed by Meera Menon Written by Heather Bellson & M. Willis

Verity (Brianna Hildebrand) and the rest of the kids wait to see what’s going on with Andy (John Cho). Rose (Li Jun Li) keeps them up on things. While Marcus (Ben Daniels) and Father Tomas (Alfonso Herrera) have been working for days on trying to expel the demon from Andy. For the time being the kids are getting off the island, even if they don’t like that. They’ll be put in temporary housing. Verity’s concerned, Andy killed somebody right in front of them, there’ll be consequences: “We‘re never going back.” The demon speaks to Marcus, trying to get at him. It chips away at him, speaking of the “one who came before,” a former apprentice: Mouse (Zuleikha Robinson). Ah, yes. What sort of history do they have? What exactly happened to them, or between them? In the meantime, the demon keeps Andy locked away someplace else with Nikki (Alicia Witt) in that dreamy landscape, that place made of his hopes, his aspirations, just the two of them. He’s utterly hypnotised. Father Bennett (Kurt Egiawan) and Mouse are trying to find the two priests, to warn them of whatever’s coming. He’s not doing so well with an infected wound. She’s avoiding all his questions about her past with Marcus. Then he passes out, so that’s no good. Puts a bit of a wrench in their plans. We skip back to the Isle of Iona in the United Kingdom, 1999. Mouse is part of the convent, it seems. Marcus, with his beautiful blonde locks, is the typically hippie priest we could’ve only assumed he’d be, and he even tells Mouse to choose a different life; he was chosen, called to God, whereas she still has a choice. “The rest of us are just fumbling around in the dark hoping it‘s all real,” she tells him, admiring that he doesn’t have a choice. You can tell there’s more to this relationship, I’m sure we’ll soon see it. Marcus: “My life is a series of rooms, demons, and coffee that tastes like pond water.” Caleb (Hunter Dillon) and Shelby (Alex Barima) prepare to leave the foster home, as does Verity. Of course none of them can tell anybody what’s really going on, so it’s even harder. Everybody else thinks it’s pneumonia. They know the difference. Verity doesn’t wholly believe it’s a demon, she just knows something is fucked up. Back to ’99. Mouse sneaks into the basement of the church, into a locked room. There is a woman called Miriam, obviously possessed, chained to the floor. She goes down there to visit by herself, and often. The demon speaks to her, taunting a little: “I am the dragon. What are you? Nothing.” The more Mouse recites biblical verse, the more the demon speaks, talking down to her. And offering its demonic power to her, to see the “true face of God.” Afterwards Mouse is attacked by the demon, viciously. Now Marcus is asking Rose to put one of the children in the room with Andy. You know who offers: Verity. She won’t take no for an answer, she wants to be of help. If this is demonic possession, she’ll do whatever is in her power to do, to try helping her foster father. Meanwhile, Tomas is having a rough go of things, as well. He let one demon in, once, and now he’s forever scarred, forever marked by that infernal legion from hell. While he’s in the room with Andy he suddenly sees Nikki, water logged and dripping; only for a brief moment, then she’s gone. Back to ’99, Marcus is nursing his “little church mouse” back to health. Because she’s been possessed by a demon. It’s inside her. And he refuses to let her go, though she begs, feeling guilty for allowing it to happen. He won’t give up on her. We can further see the parallel between Mouse and Tomas, those exorcists in training under his wing, who’ve gotten in over their heads. In current day, he surely feels that what happened to Mouse is again happening, this time to Tomas. Marcus and Peter (Christopher Cousins) have another romantic moment, that will hopefully continue once the whole ordeal is over. But there’s more pressing things at hand. Verity’s come back to the foster home, to go into that room and face the demon, to try bringing Andy back to them. She heads in to say hello. No happy greeting. The demon talks back, taunting, telling lies to twist her young mind. Worse, Nikki speaks through Andy, directly to Verity. She says horrible things about her suicide, about the girl. Verity’s stronger than that. She rejects the lies, and kneels next to Andy, confessing honestly her own flaws. “No matter what I did you always loved me,” she says. She pleads with her foster dad to fight the demon. And he does, he pushes through for a second telling her to get away; the demon’s palming a shard of glass it wants to use for a stabbing. Luckily she gets out of the house before anything can happen. Once more, in ’99, we see Mouse returning to the world. She isn’t possessed. But she doesn’t wake up to Marcus. It’s another priest, chastising her curiosity. She finds out Marcus couldn’t complete with exorcism, apparently. He left her there. Naturally, the Roman Catholic Church blames her, nosing around where she should’ve have been, they claim. And yes, in a way, she was, but Marcus was responsible for her to a certain extent. Heartbreaking that he’d leave. However, Mouse must do the same with Father Bennett, whom she leaves in the hospital, hooked up to machines in a coma. The two renegade priests battle together against this demon. Marcus tells Tomas he’s “proud to stand” with him. No longer master-apprentice, but master and master; Tomas is a full fledged exorcist, as much as Marcus. Their power together can, hopefully conquer anything. Although this demon, it’s one fucking powerful bastard. At the same time, Rose takes Verity back to get a book Andy gave her, she left it at the neighbours place. Verity goes in to get it, finding the neighbours dead. Why? Andy’s gotten himself loose, and he’s got Rose. OH, shit. And is Marcus trapped with Tomas, who’s himself seduced by the demon? SO MUCH HAPPENING. DIG IT.
Another goddamn spectacular episode! This series only improves with every one, truly. The writing is always spot on. Just intense, unexpected, emotional. Bless everyone involved. “Ritual & Repetition” is next week. The penultimate Season 2 finisher. I wonder what’ll happen in these last two episodes. Good laaawd!
