it’s our one year anniversary!! and it’s absolutely surreal to me how much we’ve grown over the past year. i love melobin so much, i adore being here and i adore being able to share things with all of you and i can’t wait to share more of the things i have planned !!

the past year has definitely been a little rocky LFMAO i’ve been through three url changes and more than one silly ot6 accusation exposing post but i’m still here ! and i’m still adoring and supporting riize as a whole. it’s been a few years since I’ve found myself as in love with a group as i am with riize and im so incredibly grateful that i got to meet so many wonderful people because of them. from mutuals to anons to just people who interact with my blog, i really adore and appreciate you all, more than i can express in words. i’ve taken a few breaks in the past year, all mental health related but you’ve all been so understanding and i cannot thank you enough for that.

it’s quite overwhelming that melobin has gained over 3.7k followers in the past year, i never really expected much other than a few people to talk to when i first started my blog but im so happy with the little community we’ve created here and i can’t wait for it to continue 🥺 i truly adore you all.

the melody and friends discord server has been a highlight of melobin for me !! i love that server and everyone i’ve met through it, i wanted to create a community that was welcoming and comforting and friendly and i truly believe i’ve done that.

not to be too soppy but there’s definitely some people i’d like to personally thank for being here this past year.

hey so um when i made this blog i thought i would use it to upload art

...i didn't

so here have this really sad bright pink sketch thing from last last month because i'm one of those people that literally just let this idea sit around for all eternity until i find it again and then work on it for five minutes before getting bored and losing interest for the next 4 weeks

so you know how the like half and half art was trending WAY back in 2021??? (or was it 2020??? pretty much everyone had that as their pfp) with like the wolves and the blue/pink or blue/orange??? yeah. now that the trend is dead, i draw something based on that. because it only gets appealing when no one shoves it in your face. basically what Moriah Elizabeth said (awesome artist, 2011-2015 Kyary-esque but not as wacky. or as Japanese.)

anywayssssss on the left we have. Amy as a ghost cuz Kumo to Yuurei but how he looked like in the Nautilus MV but kinda gory cuz human bodies disintegrate underwater over time i think??? the quick google search i did last last month said that so um yeah his ghost be part exposed bone with the background from the literal end of the Dakara Boku wa Ongaku wo Yameta MV (as in he looks behind before he oofs himself end)

and then on the right we have Nautilus. just the scene from Nautilus where Elma's holding the guitar like opposite sides of a magnet do to each other and she's crying and the papers of something she held flew away

and both of them are standing at the dock Amy oofed himself on, and from the Wikipedia article i read on types of Yuureis, um yeah Amy's ghost is literally. supposed to be there.

also i added some text cuz well Amy's really confused as to??? why the heck isn't Elma responding??? like yeah he's a ghost now but he's a Yuurei, right??? so like he gets to interact with the human world for the last time now that the reason he couldn't move on is here why can't he (but then [insert some really random reason that makes absolutely no sense here because Japanese folklore makes roughly as much sense as the PONPONPON MV] and then he just ends up moving on to a rebirth anyways)

Overall love them. They're not perfect by any means, but I do quite enjoy reading them. Putting the opinion under the cut, because it'll likely be a bit long. lol

-The storylines in general are decent. Some of the arcs are kinda meh, but as a whole it's fine to me. But there's a few such as the arc that spanned from Issues #37-40. It started off great, but the ending sucked. Also that massive art quality downgrade in one of the issues. 😬 And while it was an overall decent arc, I feel like the Metal Virus saga went on a lot longer than it needed to. I have other tiny gripes from a story standpoint, such as how Sonic's amnesia as a result of the end of the Metal Virus saga was handled, but despite those, I still think the series as a whole is fine. I did really love several of the arcs, the first three that come to mind being the Tangle & Whisper miniseries, the Bad Guys miniseries, and the arc spanning from Issues #45-47.

-I LOVE the new characters introduced in IDW. As you can probably tell from my current icon, Dr. Starline is probably my favorite new addition, but I also really love Tangle, Whisper, Jewel, and especially Belle, too! Even though their arc isn't complete for me to give a full, proper opinion on either of them, I really love what we've seen of Surge and Kit, too.

-On the subject of character, that's kinda a mixed bag for me. Some characters were done well or better than their game incarnations, but others sucked. For example, Amy I think was improved upon. I loved seeing her character arc throughout the games slowly make her more and more independent, and this was like an upgrade to that, which is pretty epic. Hot take, but I also think the Deadly Six are another set that was improved upon. I still don't really like them that much as characters, but I liked the way they were written in IDW. In Lost World, they were all pretty flat with one personality trait (Zomom is fat, Zazz is stupid, Zeena is the girl, etc), but they actually had some sort of personality beyond that in IDW, and I honestly really liked it. Even though he's been constantly shoehorned into everything since Lost World, I'd even argue that this made Zavok the most tolerable of them all. However, there's other characterizations that I didn't like, the two most glaring being Shadow and Sonic himself. I REALLY hate how Shadow has been portrayed recently. The last main series game where he was still himself was Sonic '06, so that's been almost 20 years now, which is really sad. There's been a few spinoff titles after '06 where Shadow has been fine, (Sonic Chronicles and the two Rivals titles, just to name two), but those get kinda ignored. Love the game or hate it, I really love how Shadow was portrayed in Chronicles in particular, especially how there's one cutscene where he outrights refers to Omega as his friend. I really wish we could have interactions between Team Dark like that again, but knowing how SEGA has been lately, it's not likely. The current version of Shadow is basically "hurr durr I am edgy also friends suck and I don't have nor need them >:(((" and IDW has been kinda reflecting that personality, which is really disappointing. I still like Shadow, but I hope someday we can have his old self back. lmao keep dreaming, right? As for Sonic, to put it bluntly, he's an asshole. I'd say he's not quite as bad as current game Sonic with some of his bs, but still... Not really a big fan of how he behaves sometimes in the comics, but he's still more tolerable than what they did to Shadow. And most times, he's fine, imo, it's just those certain moments with him.

As for everyone else I can think of (like Eggman, the Chaotix, Silver, Knuckles, Blaze, etc), they all act fairly close to how they normally did in the games, so they're all fine to me, too. They all stay closer to the source material, so I like that.

So in conclusion, I like the comics, but I also know they're flawed just like everything else is.

It was by random, I was in those name generator sites and in one of them (I don't remember which one) said that my name Daniela was Erubadhriel in elvish. I liked the sound of that, so I chose it. I'm terrible with names anyway, so I usually go to those name generator sites a lot.

Nope. I don't even keep up with one, I can't even imagine having two blogs.

Around 4 to 5 years, I think.

I wanted to have a place to talk and share about games I was playing, because I actually don't have many friends in real life that play the same games as I do.

Nope. I'm the kind of person that avoid fights, drama, arguments. I don't feel like wasting my time in those kind of things, especially on the internet with people that I don't even know well. I'm the kind of person that believes that people are free to post what they want, of the fandom/characters they want. If it's something that I don't agree nor like, I just block the tag and keep moving. Life continues and everybody has their own tastes.

15. How do you feel about “you need to reblog” posts?

I just ignore them. I understand why people want their things to be reblogged, especially people that need the internet to share their work. But my blog is very specific. Sometimes I like something, but it doesn't quite suit my blog's content. So I don't reblog. And sometimes I just feel very exhausted to even reblog things (tagging them properly and such). So I understand, but I will do what I want in my own space.

Yep. Especially the OCs ones.

LOST DOG TAEGAN 13yo, FOUND!!! Thank You, thank You Jesus for shepherding Anita and Taegan back together after much ado and frantic searching. Please help her to calm down and understand that she is home and safe. Help mom Anita to catch up on the rest she missed during 36 hrs. of constant searching. We praise Your Name. Anita Chaplin 10-11-17: Taegan is home safe. Found her around 5 pm. She was about 3 miles from home. She is fine. Just hungry and tired. Thank you for all the shares and prayers ❤️ My friend Amy and her son Ethan came over, and we went to the neighborhood that a lady who called me said she had seen Taegan in that morning. It was a long shot that she might still be there, but it was the only lead I had. PfP: Haha! No long shots when God is giving directions! (see more below) Anita’s blog

      PfP: Thank you thank you God I knew you would find her. So how did she get that far? How did you find her?

Anita Chaplin: We drove around, weaving in and out of streets…since it had quit raining and the weather was pretty decent, people were out an about walking, biking, sitting on their porch. We pretty much asked everyone we saw, ‘hey, have you seen a small black Chihuahua?’

Actually a couple people on two different streets confirmed they had just seen her. So we figured we had to be close. We got tot he end of the street, and looked across, and there was Taegan, standing in the street by the corner! Has she ever run off before?

I flew out of the car…really don’t remember much about that part of it. Amy was driving. I ran over, and right as I was about to pick her up, she bolted! I chased her, then stopped, hoping if she saw me stop, she would stop, but she didn’t. So I ran after her….good thing I’m a runner! 🙂 So I ran after her….good thing I’m a runner! 🙂 She stopped to turn around, and when she did, I grabbed her up and held her tight. Amy and Ethan pulled up about that time. Taegan was so scared….I don’t think she even realized it was me and she was now safe! We all were hugging and crying! No, she has not run off before. I’ve cared for dogs since 1995, and because of rescue and foster, I’ve had more dogs in my home than most people would have in a lifetime, I’ve never had one go missing!She stopped to turn around, and when she did, I grabbed her up and held her tight.

She was wet and hungry! I had brought a bag of treats, and Amy and Ethan were feeding them to her as I held her, and she was gobbling them up! It poured rain yesterday….my poor little girl. Just wonder what she went through. I’m going to blog about it here in awhile. Got to do some more job hunting! The situation with Taegan was priority yesterday. I’ve got a headache that will not go away! I was up for about 38 hours straight. I could not rest knowing she was not safe.
