I actually love to elaborate so I will:
So, just like every single "adhd thing", it is normal for this to happen *some of the time*. People forget things, people get distracted, people get talked over. The difference is, when you have adhd it happens A LOT. Like a lot a lot.
Because of adhd, it's much easier to 1) get distracted by what someone else is saying and simply never circle back to your idea or 2) have too many things to say- so many that it's frustratingly impossible to ever say them all. It also means that when people interrupt you, you might not even realize it because you're immediately distracted by the fact that something else is going on and lose all your previous trains of thoughts.
Sadly I can't give you an exact estimate of how often it's normal for this to happen because I don't know what it's like to live without adhd. But if anyone else does, I'd love to hear about it /gen
For all my fellow ADHD and soft voice-havers when we get interrupted/can't say anything constantly
#this happens to me multiple times every conversation#but adhd has varying severities and mine migjt be really severe or minor and i wouldnt be able to know#because its very hard to compare the symptoms when theyre largely based on internal experience#and also i think because with adhd you can forget or ignore a lot of those internal experiences#and therefore not communicate the. w#*not communicate them well#i think thats one of the reasons so many people who definitely have adhd say they dont think they have it#because not only is it easy to forget hard to notice and difficult to explain but its also something you domt know other people#arent dealing with#like how am i supposed to know that this stuff isnt ridiculously hard for everyone else??#its so easy for people to make you believe that youre simply forgetful t#or absent minded or a daydreamer#and that its just a personality trait or a personal failing#when its actually a conditiom that you have little to no control over
