#but a really interesting take on this whole Lilith and Eve business

Like I had a dream of Season 2 last night, and weirdly it seemed exactly like what Season 2 might actually be like in terms of reveals. Like it turned out Alastor was actually a fraud, he didn’t kill all those overlords when he first got to Hell, but rather lied and said he did, and began attaining some power over the years with that rep, never a lot but enough to beat out smaller names, that being why he was so dependent on smaller deals like those he had Rosie keep an eye out for. He wasn’t pacing himself but desperately trying to live up to the myth of the Radio Demon. And it turned out Husk had been more powerful than Alastor when he acquired his soul, and the day he did was just as stressful for Alastor as it was for Husk. Then Vox tried to have him join the Vees, Alastor turned him down since he didn’t want to truth of his power being much lower than thought being found out, they got in a fight, and Alastor was legitimately hurt but managed to hide it and leave before Vox realised, just as he did with Adam. Alastor then encountered the real force responsible for those overlords going missing: Eve, the first woman. Basically in the world of ‘Hazbin’, before Heaven and Hell, there was simply Good and Evil, literal personifications, concepts given awareness. Good was the first to gain mass, becoming God, creating the angels and then Earth, Adam, Lilith, Eve, while Evil was left a simple force, until Lilith formed the apple of free will and gave it to Eve, infecting her with Evil, and so she became its embodiment, God’s counterpart in evil. Who could be seen in the opening storybook in the first episode, Go(o)d a closed eye amongst clouds, Evil a red eye(s) and smile amongst darkness, I checked once I woke up to ensure that shot was real. So basically all descendants of hers, humanity, would have both good and evil within them: the reason Adam was in Heaven was that in spite of being a jerk, he never had Evil as a concept within him. So what neither Alastor or Eve would have known was that because of this, he was among the few that could ever kill her (Evil), and now that Niffty took him out of the picture, the only ones left who could do so are Lilith and Charlie, the only ones of human descent not to be infected with Evil on some level (angels not having the right stuff to make it work). Anyway my dream had it that Alastor and Lilith hadn’t really met, but once Alastor made his deal with Eve, and she got herself a representative, Lilith felt it, and immediately fled to Heaven. And we would find this out since in Season 2, overlords started to go missing again as they once did before, only this time Alastor couldn’t really claim credit. My dream ended before it was clear who had killed them, whether it was Eve trying to find a new rep (the process having dissolved the souls of most whose wills were not powerful enough to escape her, before she had found Alastor, who would have spent the seven years he was gone attempting to escape her mass, regain corporeality to act on Eve’s behalf), or whether it was Lilith trying to figure out which overlord was Eve’s rep and wipe them out, but it did feature Vox be killed later on in the season, and Valentino and Velvette had a beautiful mournful ballad in response to this, like with her being the source of all Evil in this world I could have seen Val apologists in real life saying all he did wasn’t his fault because of her, what her influence did, which wouldn’t be great, but the scene my mind came up with was (great). So anyway Alastor’s purpose would have been to prevent redemption within Hell from being possible, since it would ruin Eve. It seemed surprisingly plausible to canon as we know it: I was thoroughly impressed with my subconscious mind on waking up.
Op did Apollo just be like “oh yeah I’m gonna give this bitch everything tn just for funnies” like the FUCK?!?

Spoilers for Hazbin Hotel Episodes and my thoughts/initial reactions:
Episode 1:
I adore the opening narration, it genuinely feels like a fairytale being told to a kid and I get the vibe Lilith and Lucifer were trying to help Eve by giving her the apple. And for people worried about her being Stella 2.0 It comes off more as Lilith taking over since Lucifer became low key depressed and while there might be issues between them it might be more communication issues than anything else
Husk's voice sounds a bit gruffer than it initially came off as in the trailers and I really like how it sounds
Angel brings up good suggestions of having a celebrity be a selling point for the hotel and why can't Alastor use his connections to bring more people to the hotel
and their answers (of Charlie not wanting to exploit him and people needing to choose to be there, not be forced to be there) were also really great points
I feel low key dumb for thinking Adam was actually there, he wouldn't bother to bring himself down to their level
Charlie's realization this asshole is her mom's ex is hilarious
Tbh I would've wanted to see more of them making the commercial but it was so much fun to see and I love how Alastor only agreed to put genuine effort in the commercial if he never had to do anything related to TV again
Niffty zoning out when the camera is on her just game me hypnotoad vibes (dumb and obvious comparison but that's where my mind went)
Wow...what the hell, they really are cutting the time in half just as a "fuck you" to Charlie and her idea?! Really harsh and just this whole thing works to show they're not so different than the demons
Is it just me or is there weird audio mixing issues with Brandon Rodgers' audio as Katie Killjoy?
Ohhh interesting the 6 months thing is cause an angel managed to be killed and it's a cover up! I'm genuinely curious where this goes
Episode 2:
Good point with this being something that could make people be willing to hear this idea of redemption out
Omg of course Niffty is into Pentious. Also interesting she didn't know who the V's were.
Vox in the trailer sounded like seth rogan to me but he sounds way more gameshow host to me
VELVETTE'S BRITISH?!?! Also kinda cool to see her being a bit more business focused and not just kinda high energy chaos
OMG! Finally we get to hear Valentino! It's kinda cool how his accent is partly there, like it's thicker when he talks in some parts than others. It's done in a way that's less the VA dropping the accent and more it being a deliberate thing for the character
For Vox and Val's relationship we got this idea of Val being the one in charge and mistreating Vox but Vox trying to calm Val down feels like him and Velvette just let Val think he's the one who's in charge of the V's while Vox is actually the one to plan stuff through
Fun little bit of Val poking fun at Vox's obsession with Alastor and I kinda like it's all of them kinda snapping at eachother and messing with one another
I've seen thumbnails for this song on youtube and i've been trying to avoid it and I'm so glad I can finally see it. This song and Adam's songs were low key my faves of these first couple episodes.
One thing that stood out to me in this song is two lines from Alastor is "Is Vox as strong as he purports or is it based on his support? He'd be powerless without the other Vees" (and cute little bit of Val and Velvette looking kinda smug at that line) Cause it does raise an interesting idea: The Vees essentially all prop each other up, how would they handle being purely on their own
"And here's the sugar on the cream, he asked me to join his team, I said no and now he's pissy" Oh so basically he tried asking Alastor out and didn't take the rejection well?
Is that a robo fizz?!?!
I actually appreciate Angel wasn't the one told to be the spy on the inside but rather Pentious. It's a good way to get him involved with this and just isn't the more obvious plot choice
With Angel feeling jealous and insecure I'm actually really glad there isn't that thing where this new character is suspicious and one character points that out but they keep getting dismissed by everyone else and just accused of being jealous
Poor sir Pentious...And honestly this moment is just really sweet and honestly Charlie's design with her hair and Pj's are so adorable!

Ok so the HH Season 1 ending was surely something
To get things off my chest, I’m really glad the series didn’t just flat up vilify the entirety of heaven (I can be pretty picking/carious of stuff like that since I do consider myself religious) but actually portrayed the holy land in a good but flawed kind of way and I really love how many of the characters were handled, it was a fun ride so far and I’m excited to see where season 2 takes the story since Lute’s still got some unfinished business.
Now onto the finale and some of the more spoilery bits since I’m not going to lie but I really need to watch the show in it’s full but I have been following spoilers.
Man was that crazy, first time the exorcists really got the tides turned.
I was not expecting Vaggie to still have that detail of ichor (What I’m going to call Angel blood since in Greek mythology that was the term for the blood of the gods, which too is said to be gold in color) from her scuffle with Lute was a nice detail.
Speaking of, while I don’t usually follow F/F or M/M ships most of the time, Vaggie and Charlie have now been bumped up there with some of my favorite same-sex couple ships (I usually need a good dynamic/chemistry between the two that I like and not just a random ship, and even them, I usually don’t have too many (straight or LGBTQ) ships I follow in general) Charlie you sweetie, your kindness to a random stranger you found laying in an alleyway really paid off and I love these two’s dynamic because it works.
Also it was neat to see that it confirmed Adam was merely wearing a mask (I mean it was kinda obvious since I was pretty sure they were saving that for the finale) only to get struck down by everyone's favorite crazy maid.
Now onto the big one, congrats to our snakey boi for proving Charlie’s point. I also find that pretty interesting that his form didn’t change too much as Sir Pentious is still a snake since snakes can actually be a sign of goodness/holiness in some cultures.
But now onto some nitpicks, which I really only have like 2-3.
First off, we still don’t really have answer on why Sinner Demons are bound to the Pride Ring. I doubt it is due the theory of it being magical restrictions and most likely is one of the very few laws Hell has. Possibly a clause out of to Lucifer’s deal to exempt Hellborns from the extermination because just going off a theory, Angels don’t have the easiest time accessing the other 6 rings so the Hellborns could retreat to there during periods of extermination (Though I guess they still could. Like take Vaggie for example since she’s technically an Angel despite being casted out by Lute/Adam, in theory she could be able to travel with Charlie to the other Rings because the whole Sinner Demon stuff does not apply to her,)
The other major one, I’m kinda sad we didn’t get Crymini or Baxter to have any major roles yet. Same goes a bit for Mimzy since I was really hoping these guys would have joined the hotel at some point. Oh well, the former two still might make into Season 2 since I really like their concepts/characters.
Finally, while we know what became of Lilith. What about Eve? Possibly will she be appearing in S2?

Can I ask what's wrong with Michael W Ford's books? I never read them but I've seen often people recommending them, so I'm curious. Thank you and have a nice day.
Thanks for the question! Sorry if this gets a little long, TL;DR is at the bottom but I've broken down some more specific examples in point form.
I'll preface this by saying that if people get something worthwhile from Michael W Ford's books, that's their business and I'm happy for them. However, there's a few things about his writing and him as a person that I don't really love and struggle to get behind. Most of the specific textual examples I give are from the Bible of the Adversary specifically, as it's one of his more famous books and the only one I personally have had the mental fortitude to page through so far.
- I'm immediately leery of anyone who's often described as a "visionary" or "luminary" on websites selling or listing their books, especially when I've gotten the feeling that it's just that his books are accessible and plentiful. Even among fans of authors like E. A. "Become A Living God" Koetting, the general opinion seems to be that his books lack a lot of consistency and are a bit poorly written. Can confirm for the Bible of the Adversary, at least. There's some parts of that thing that could have used a once-over by an editor.
- I try very hard not to use what happened to the Greater Church of Lucifer/GCoL against him. Another member of the community that I do still (loosely, infrequently) interact with was also involved, and while I sincerely wish they'd both more deeply researched the man they were signing up to run a very public and scrutinized church with, I think his turning into a scam artist who publicly converted to Christianity was enough punishment there. Likewise, I'm a bit uncomfortable with his past involvement with the Order of Nine Angels/ONA/O9A given the fact that they're a pack of murder advocating nazis, but apparently he left when he discovered that fact, so I try to give him the benefit of the doubt that he truly did distance himself from them immediately upon learning of their beliefs, as I don't know when these things became more widely known. However, both of these fumbles alongside how he presents himself and his books just don't sit well with me, as the most generous interpretation is that he was twice-misled in some pretty dangerous and harmful ways by those that are damaging to the public perception of Luciferianism, but still likes to be some figurehead of the Luciferian community. People make mistakes, and people can be misled, and people can learn from past experiences, but his track record is a bit upsetting for a supposed authority.
- His work includes pieces and ideas from occultists or practices that I tend to avoid in my own practice and study, such as Thelema and Crowley's writing as a whole, inspiration taken from the Temple of Set/Setian magic, Qlipoth (because it wouldn't be a Luciferian grimoire without pilfered Jewish mysticism), and forms of Gnosticism that embrace the idea of God as an evil demiurge (which i explained my discomfort with in my previous post). I'm also not a huge fan of his "all magic comes from within" approach (and find it hard to reconcile with his frequent use of Luciferian deities/spirits and demons), nor that he'll talk about Cain's role in "Luciferian grimoires" without actually naming any... though given how similar a piece of Lilith themed artwork he's done looks to Andrew Chumbley's illustration, I assume he means the sort of books the Cultus Sabbati was writing. I wish I still had the Ford version saved or could remember which of his books it's from, the side by side comparison is painful but without it I risk looking like I'm making things up.
- Heavy, heavy use of Lilith, which I don't love for reasons I outlined before. She mostly seems to appear whenever spooky lustful sex magick is being discussed, which is great, that's great.
- He also uses the Wiccan wheel of the year sprinkled in among his more Luciferian focused holy days, which is just really funny to me. Why are we celebrating Beltane, Michael? Why are we celebrating Imbolg? (Page 69)
- He likes to use a lot of "black magic" and "vampyre magic" stuff which tends to feel very sensationalized and over the top to me. I've seen discussions of vampiric magic I found very interesting, but so far his hasn't been one of them.
- He sometimes seems to conflate Lucifer with Samael which I really truly dislike, though it's admittedly not the most baffling or out of left field take I've seen.
- Ford at times seems to either willfully misrepresent or misunderstand information he's passing along. For example, in the Bible of the Adversary he says that Cain's name comes from "...root ‘Kanah’ which means to possess. This by itself presents the antinomian nature of his essence, while instead of sacrificing his most bountiful items to the Lord, he kept them for himself." As I understand it, discussion surrounding Cain's name possibly coming from the Hebrew word קנה (kana) lean more into it being the word for to get or to obtain, referencing Eve's declaration after his conception that she'd gotten a man from the Lord. I'm all for alternate interpretations, but it feels like needless edgy-fying to fit the narrative he's trying to present. (Quote from Page 58)
- He'll say some absolutely bonkers shit like "Abel in some Luciferian Lore is considered a lower pre-form of Cain, thus the sacrifice was not literal" with zero citations or references. Like sir what the fuck does that mean, what Lore, please give us the lore please. (Footnote, Page 59)
- His interpretation of the Watchers and the Book of Enoch is so insultingly bad that I won't even relay it here, but if I see one more person claim that an angel, demon, or spirit they want to distance from Christianity or Judaism is actually a Babylonian god I'm going to go feral.
- As I've hinted at above, it feels like he'll just cherry pick and regurgitate for no real purpose. A few spirits from other texts like the Lesser Key and the Grimoire Verum get mentioned for... mostly the set of names, it seems like, he just kind of lists them out of context.
TL;DR, Michael W Ford feels (to me at least) like someone who has picked out the more appealing and edgy occult trivia and magic he could find from a wide range of sources, recontextualized the parts that didn't appeal to him until they fit his aesthetic and purposes, and presented them as a workable entry point to the Luciferian religion and its potential magical systems that is all flash no substance... and then could barely polish the flash. I don't like that he's many people's first exposure to the concept of theistic Luciferianism, and I don't like how authoritatively he presents his jumbled works as what the religion is truly about when it's so broad a label. Again, if there is something that someone finds useful within his books I am very happy for them, but I have struggled to find anything I could point to that make them worth the read... even for me to investigate further keep critiquing.
I honestly do not know why so people recommend them, unless it's just that they're easy to buy, reasonably inexpensive, and specifically have the Luciferian label on them. If that's truly the case, those people are being lazy and uncritical in a way that doesn't speak well to their apparent Luciferian ideals.

“You rose to me ash blackened and new” for any of your ocs? (Also: Can i just briefly say that i love your writing a whole lot? It's just very fluid and elegant and I really enjoy reading it.) ❤
aaahhhh thank u so much!! i always see when u leave nice tags on my stuff it makes me smile so big! (also i misread the prompt and added a word to it but i’m sure no one will care right???)
Israfil paces warily around theedge of the room, keeping as close to the sleek black walls as he can managewithout touching anything. He had expected Hell to be fiery and cluttered andthoroughly unpleasant. He supposes the rest of it may very well be like thatfor all he knows, but this room looks like a fancy corporate office occupied bya very goth businessman. The desk at the center of the room looks to be pureobsidian, polished and shining beneath the stark white ceiling lights. Theblack chair accompanying the desk is plush with dark green accents and wheelson the bottom. Israfil never saw a wheeled chair during his time in Heaven. Hewonders if there’s any significance to that.
He’s in the middle ofsurreptitiously examining the ornately framed painting of a woman that hangsbehind the desk when the front door swings open with a whoosh of hot air.“Sorry to keep you waiting,” Lucifer says smoothly, strolling into the office. Heis dressed in a well tailored crimson suit and a wide brimmed hat, which he promptlytosses onto the desk. “How’s tricks?” he asks, pulling the wheeled chair backand taking a seat.
“Oh, you know,” Israfil says. “Beenbusy.”
“I can tell.” He reaches into oneof the many drawers in his desk, removing a small, silver box. “Cigarette?” heoffers.
“No. Thanks.” He clears his throat.“Listen, I’m sorry I didn’t come sooner. I was sort of caught up with…something.”
“Israfil,” Lucifer says, taking acigarette out of the box and lighting it with the tip of his finger, “believeme, I know all about your exploits in humanity.” He gives Israfil aknowing look. “You should know by now that no one has any secrets from me.”
“Right. That’s true. Anyway—”
“It’s a shame what happened,” heinterrupts, wisps of smoke curling out of his mouth as he speaks. “But I guesshumans aren’t really made to last. Not like us.” He grins, looking for a momentlike his old, charming self. “We’re like the cockroaches of this whole wretcheduniverse.”
“Right,” he repeats, softer thistime. “Look, Lucifer—”
“You know, I remember when youfell,” he continues, gesturing for Israfil to sit in one of the green armchairsacross from the desk. “It was quite scandalous, really. God’s golden boygetting cast aside without warning.” He leans forward slightly, as if preparingto tell him a secret. “You know, my wife and I took bets on whether it wouldstart another uprising in Heaven. From what Michael told me, a lot of theangels were not happy with that little turn of events.”
Israfil didn’t know that Luciferand Michael still kept in touch. Though, he supposes it makes sense. After all,Michael was the only one who was ever really close with Lucifer. “You’remarried?” he asks.
Lucifer waves a hand at thepainting Israfil had been inspecting. It depicts a tall, dark skinned womanwith tumbling black curls and blood red lips. She sits cross legged upon agolden throne, a jackal lying peacefully at her feet. “Lilith,” he says fondly.“You might remember her from the garden?”
Israfil nods slowly, eyes fixed onthe painting. “Vaguely.” He remembers that Adam had a wife before Eve, and thatshe, too, had been dismissed from the garden. Apparently Lilith and Adam had a…difference of opinion regarding the woman’s place in a relationship. “Youmarried her?”
“How could I not?” He turnshis chair to face the portrait with a soft sigh. “I knew she was brilliant themoment I met her. And she’s got a body that just won’t quit.”
“Okay, anyway,” Israfil saysabruptly, feeling more than a little uncomfortable at the turn thisconversation is taking. “I was wondering—”
“I wanted to claim you right afteryou fell, but your grace hadn’t burned off yet,” Lucifer says, seemingly intenton telling this story whether Israfil likes it or not. “Besides, it was way toointeresting to watch you play house with the human, and I thought it mightthrow a wrench into my entertainment if I took you under my wing too early.” Hepauses, swiveling around in his chair once more and tapping a bit of ash offthe end of the cigarette onto the table. “I’ll admit, I was a bit disappointedwhen you didn’t come to call after I adopted you,” he murmurs, looking upthrough his eyelashes at Israfil. “Some demons less benevolent than I mighthave perceived that as a snub, you know.”
“Like I said, I was busy.”
“Of course. You were busy.” Hetakes a long tug on the cigarette, looking thoughtfully at the ceiling aboveIsrafil’s head. “One of my seers came to me with a vision. On the eve of yourfirst little scuffle with Raphael.” He blows a perfectly rounded smoke ring. “Sheprophesied that you were going to fall in combat.” He chuckles to himself. “Outsideof an IHOP, no less. If I hadn’t stepped in, that would’ve been super embarrassingfor you. And you have far too much potential to let you get taken out in aparking lot brawl, of all things.”
Ah. So that explains why he hadbeen claimed during that fight all those years ago. He had always had thesneaking suspicion that Lucifer knew something he didn’t—which, granted, wastrue most of the time—that led him to choose that moment to claimIsrafil as one of his own. It had always seemed a little too apropos to be a coincidence.“I appreciate your intervention,” he says curtly.
Lucifer nods slowly. “It really wasa beautiful sight,” he murmurs. “Watching as you rose to me like ash, blackenedand new, with the full force of Hell at your fingertips.” He exhales softly, his eyes fluttering closed. “I was proud to see you triumph like that, rebornwith my dark blessing.”
Israfil resists the urge to scoffat the utterance of ‘dark blessing’. Lucifer must think himself quite the poet.“It was a welcomed gift,” he admits. “Your patronage, I mean.”
“Hm.” He stubs out the cigarette onthe back of his hand. The flesh sizzles and blisters before returning to itsusual, eerily smooth texture. “And now you’re here.”
“Now I’m here.”
“I suppose you’re wondering whattask I’m going to ask you to perform,” he says casually, popping the cigarettebutt into his mouth and swallowing it. “To prove your loyalty to me, naturally.”
Israfil nods, relieved to befinally getting to the point of this whole meeting. “I don’t intend to residehere,” he says carefully, “but I’m willing to carry out my… duties, as the needarises.”
Lucifer smiles, lips pulling backto reveal a mouth of glossy white teeth. “Good,” he says. “Your service isinvaluable to me.” He runs his palm over his slick, dark hair, eyeing Israfil withgreat consideration. “You’re currently living in Oakland, correct?”
“Correct.”
“Good,” he repeats. “In downtownOakland there is a restaurant owned by a man who has a band that I don’t like.Have the restaurant shut down for me.”
Israfil blinks. “Is that all?”
“That’s all.” There is a devilishgleam in his eyes, but he offers no elaboration and Israfil doesn’t feel quitebold enough to ask, so he says nothing and simply nods his head in agreement. “There’sa good lad,” Lucifer says brightly. “Now, I have a very important meeting witha few of my generals, so I’m afraid I’ll have to send you on your way.” Hewaves his hand at the tall double doors at the other end of the office and theyswing open, revealing a broad shouldered, burly demon standing just beyondthem. “Halphas will show you out.”
The demon bows low at the mentionof her name.
“Right. Okay. Well, I’ll be… seeingyou, I guess.” Israfil gives an awkward half bow to Lucifer, feeling a bitstrange at having to bow to someone who was once his delinquent cousin, andshuffles out of the room. He has a gnawing sensation in the pit of his stomachthat tells him he should’ve given more thought to the implications of Lucifer’srequest. He knows better than to believe that the order is as innocuous as itseems. But even the unforeseen consequences of shutting down a singlerestaurant are probably preferable to any of the things Lucifer might haveasked a demon he liked less.
Even so, as Israfil follows Halphasdown the wide halls of Hell, something in the back of his mind tells him heshouldn’t have been so quick to agree.

Whose ready to read about my interpretation of Lilith in my current Good Omens fanfiction project?
Trick question, I'm writing about it anyway. So, we all know that our favorite snek boi Anthony J. Crowley, did the first ever temptation. But you know who else some sources attribute the first temptation to?
Lilith.
*Please note that while most painters/artists make her white, my headcanon is that she looks very simular to her "sister" Eve, and is the same skin tone as her GO actress.
I see some folks like to think that in GO cannon, Lilith is just fem-presenting Crowley, which I have no problem with, btw, but what if she was her own demon? What if...she was the first human who was turned into a demon?
Let's re-view the current (mini-series) GO canon. Every demon we've seen in Hell is a fallen angel. We know this when Dagon gives the 'rousing speech' to the troops, they confirm that the present demons are survivors from the war.
So it's safe to assume that the folks that used to be humans are placed else-where, probably being kept prisoners as one would expect from landing in a place of eternal damnation. If we can take anything from what Crowley tells the Nazis in episode 3, that "[they] won't like dying, and [they] really won't like what happens next", one can only assume it's less than pleasant.
But here's the interesting part, fam. One interpretation of Lilith's mythology states that she was Adam's first wife instead of Eve. However, when she refused to have him stay as the top when they were having sex, basically saying that she wanted to make love in a way that showed they were equals, Adam disagreed with her. One way or another, she ends up fleeing from him amd ends up getting punished for her disobedience. More importantly, the myth states that shortly after leaving Adam, she becomes the mother of demons, specifically incubus' and succubus', making her a hell of a powerful demon.
The point of this poor mythology lesson is to say that perhaps Lilith found a way in GO canon to become the first (maybe only) human-born demon. Maybe her existence was a secret Lucifer made sure Hell would keep to have an extra advantage against the opposition. The whole "mother of demons" business is just her finding human candidates to train for Lucifer in the after-life.
As many others have pointed out, Crowley is a high-ranking demon. There's no way Lucifer would entrust the first sin AND the delivery of the anti-christ to just any demon. So he'd be in the know about her. And maybe our soft snake Crowley sees a friend in a woman who, like him, was unfairly punished for essentially questioning what was expected of her.
Here's a message board that does a great job of looking at her various mythologies:

L’appel du Vide
Chapter 2
Title: L’appel du Vide
Chapters: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4
Pairing: Michael Langdon X OC
Rating: M overall, T this part, for language.
Warnings: Language, eventual smut, a bit of blood, and a fair deal of blasphemy.
Language: English
Chapter Length: 2.3K words
Summary: After learning who Michael really is, Cordelia appeals to an ancient figure for help. Slow-burn seduction ensues. Contains spoilers for AHS: Apocalypse.
Author’s Note: Thank you so much for all of your interest in this and for all of your kind words! As always, unbeta’d, happy to fix any mistakes. Be warned, I’ve definitely taken some liberties with religious mythology here. This chapter (and the first) fits in to the two weeks before Cordelia administers the test of the Seven Wonders, and picks up right where my last chapter left off.
~Miss Robichaux’s Academy~
“Can someone finally tell me what the fuck is going on?” Madison slammed her purse down on Cordelia’s gardening bench, making the terra cotta pots clink against each other.
“What is it? What happened?” Zoe shut the greenhouse door behind her, careful to ensure none of the girls had followed her.
“Who the fuck is that bitch?”
“Have care how you speak Madison,” Myrtle chided. “She’s the first of our kind.”
“Is she a ghost?” Queenie looked to the other girls, but found only a sea of confused faces.
“Oh no, my dear, she is very much alive.”
“How?”
“Wait, I’m lost, who are we talking about?” This from Zoe.
“Lilith,” Cordelia spoke up, looking each girl in the eye as she continued. “The first woman to walk the Earth. Made by the Creator, not of Adam’s rib, but from the very same clay. Adam’s first wife. Man’s equal.”
Cordelia began to pace circles around the group.
“They were both expected to be stewards of the His creation. In order to facilitate that duty, He gave them each a set of gifts. To Lilith he gave the powers of telekinesis, divination, transmutation, concilium, pyrokinesis, and vitalum vitalis.”
Cordelia smiled. “She was the very first witch. The gifts in our blood all started with her. And technically, she was also the very first Supreme.”
“But what about descensum?” Madison seemed genuinely interested.
“There wouldn’t have been a hell for her to go to,” Queenie unfolded her arms and braced her hands on the table.
“That’s right. Descensum, she learned after.”
“After what?” Zoe asked.
“After she was cast out of the Garden of Eden for refusing to lie beneath a man,” Myrtle interrupted. “She refused to submit to Adam, and as such, became the very first feminist, too.”
“That’s partially why, yes. God sent angels to bring Lilith back to the Garden, but she refused. The irony is, He was the one who gave her the free will to make that choice in the first place. Seeing He would get nowhere, He instead created Eve to be Adam’s perfect wife. Woman made of man. Subservient to him.”
“He neglected to give Eve the same free will,” Myrtle added.
“Lilith is officially my new hero,” Madison lit a fresh cigarette.
“You were calling her a bitch two seconds ago,” Queenie scoffed.
“Wait, you said her rebuttal of Adam was ‘partially why’ she was cast out of Eden,” Zoe had taken a seat on a stool, her hazel eyes wide with fascination. “What else happened?”
“She slept with the Archangel Samael.”
“Samael, as in the Devil?” Queenie whispered.
“Now she’s definitely my new hero.”
Cordelia ignored Madison and continued. “Yes. Samael was cast out of heaven some time later. While his exile wasn’t all because of Lilith, Samael sought revenge against God. Mostly for himself, but also in some small part for her.”
“Temptation, apples, snakes, and that whole pesky sin business ensued,” Myrtle gestured dismissively.
“Is that how she learned descensum?” Queenie asked.
“Some witch scholars believed Lilith manifested that power as a way to see her former lover one last time.”
“Ok, but if she was the first Supreme, how are you also the Supreme? How did anyone else become the Supreme without her dying? How is she even still alive? All that Adam and Eve shit was like, five hundred years ago.”
Queenie rolled her eyes hard.
“The timelines are hazy, but our scholars believe that she could be over six thousand years old.”
“Damn, I’ll take some of whatever moisturizer she’s using,” Madison quipped.
“No one’s asked her?” Zoe sat up.
“Darling, you never ask a lady her age. Let alone the first Supreme,” Myrtle cast a pointed look.
“Okay, but Madison still has a point,” Zoe continued. “How is she not the Supreme anymore?”
“Sometime around the fourteenth century, Lilith abdicated her role as Supreme.”
“I didn’t know you could do that,” Zoe whispered.
Myrtle lit a cigarette of her own. “No one knew. Until she did it. And no one has been able to do it since. By then, she had already been a witch for thousands of years. The texts say that she poured half of her power into a successor, an English woman of Druid descent. This is who we’ve come to know as the first modern Supreme. Lilith may not hold the title any longer, but that doesn’t make her any less powerful than any Supreme to walk the Earth since.”
“Modern Supreme?” Queenie asked.
“Lilith chose never to lead a coven. She feared what society would do to young women even rumored to associate with her, especially those with magical abilities.”
“Is her power what kept her alive?” Zoe chimed in.
“No,” Cordelia spoke up. “The Creator has always been a vengeful being. To punish Lilith for what she had done, God cursed her with a lust for blood, damning her to an existence that would cause pain to so many. And to drive His point home, He gave her everlasting life. So that she could never be free of her suffering—by natural causes or otherwise. Even by her own hand.”
“Wait so, vampires are a real thing now?” Madison’s eyes were wide.
“Girl, you have no idea…” Queenie crossed her arms.
“Well, not exactly. From our understanding, it’s more of a virus that causes a hunger for blood. None of that sunburn or sleeping in coffins nonsense.” Myrtle clarified. “No fangs either.”
“Claws instead…” Madison mumbled, remembering Lilith’s jewelry. Sharp golden talons running through a thick ruff of silver fur.
“And while the virus can give the infected a kind of limited immortality, it’s not what sustains her. God Himself made sure she would never find peace,” Cordelia finished.
“Heaven doesn’t want her, and God definitely ain’t sending her to Hell,” Queenie sighed.
Zoe didn’t realize that tears had slipped down her cheeks. “That’s such a terrible existence.”
“More than we could ever know, Zoe,” the Supreme agreed. “Lilith has been erased from the Bible only to be written into history as some kind of demon. She’s been described as a treacherous seductress who kills babies. A creature of the night who cavorts with dangerous animals. A Jezebel who exists to lead men astray. A selfish, cruel being.”
“If all of that had happened to me, I would be a selfish, cruel being that’s for fucking sure,” Madison magicked her cigarette butt away.
“But she isn’t.” Queenie looked up. “At least she doesn’t seem that way.”
“I don’t think she is either, Queenie. She’s hidden herself away for thousands of years, never making even so much as a ripple of disturbance in the world. But she was clever. She gave the first Supreme the ability to find her in times of crisis. That ability has been passed through succession ever since.”
“So, I guess this is a time of real crisis,” Queenie whispered.
“That boy?” Zoe asked.
“Our prophecies foretell of someone rising to power with abilities unmatched by any other. And among those abilities is the power to raise souls from Hell.”
“Okay, but what’s so bad about that?” Madison asked. “If Lilith is that old I’m sure she could do it too.”
“Lilith’s power was divinely given. It stems from the same light as ours. Even she can’t release souls from places of darkness.” Myrtle answered.
“For centuries, rumors have swirled that only a child of darkness would have that power,” Cordelia clarified.
“So, what are you saying, he’s the Antichrist or something?” Madison sat up.
“That’s what I fear.”
Queenie and Zoe visibly paled at the notion.
Under her breath, Madison whispered, “I still would…”
“A child of darkness would walk the Earth solely with the purpose of bringing about death and destruction on a scale the world has never seen. I fear that is what my vision showed.”
“The Apocalypse,” Myrtle whispered.
“And we sent her to the literal Antichrist because we need his blood?” Queenie sounded incredulous.
“I mean, who better than the OG vampire queen to bring back blood from your ex-boy toy’s demon son? It’s fucked up. I like it.”
“That’s a crude way of putting it, Madison, but I’m afraid the sentiment is the same,” Myrtle extinguished her cigarette in an empty drip tray.
“His father will protect him at any cost,” the Supreme continued. “He won’t let just anyone near the boy. But rumor has it that Lilith still holds sway over him. A soft spot that never quite calcified. He wouldn’t harm her. I’m not even sure if he can.”
“If he’s who we think, why would you agree to administer the test of the Seven Wonders?” Zoe sat up angrily. “And why didn’t you tell her?”
“Because I am the Supreme and I make that choice,” Cordelia locked eyes with Myrtle. “And I suspect she already knows. I have a plan, scared though I might be to carry it out. Lilith isn’t our only hope. But she’s an asset and I’d like to keep her on our side.”
“How do we know she won’t turn on us?” Queenie asked.
“We don’t. But like you said. I don’t think she’s selfish and cruel at all.”
~The Hawthorne School~
“Lilith?” Michael staggered back a step.
She answered in the affirmative without speaking a word.
In the flesh, the Creator’s most perfect mistake.
There’s reverence, sure. And something decidedly more, perverse tugging at the back of his brain. The first woman, created as an equal, who refused to lie beneath a man.
Who bedded his father while he was still an Archangel.
There’s a feeling running through his veins that he’s never quite felt before. He’s not sure how to give words to it, but it makes him want to run his fingers over her skin to see if she’s real. He’s spoken to his father, sure. But he had never been so close to someone so like himself before.
Tangible divinity.
He opted instead to pace slow circles around her, surveying as he dripped golden pools of water onto the marble floor. She’s unfurled the full presence of her power now. No need to hide herself anymore. It washed over him, more cleansing than the bathwater. He couldn’t hold on to a fleeting ounce of shyness or apprehension if he tried.
“I don’t get to speak with my father often,” he moves with purpose now. Gone is the boy who moments ago yearned for the security of woven cotton.
“Textbook absentee.” She quips, standing unafraid with both hands clasped behind her back. Michael smirks as he continues.
“But he comes to me in my dreams sometimes, telling stories of the past. He’s mentioned you. He says you’re strong. Courageous. Jealous. He calls you a woman so beautiful, he couldn’t have created better himself.” Michael stops in front of her and inhales, eyelids unconsciously fluttering shut as he does.
All of that power in the air.
The Devil’s child can’t help but drink it in.
Ask he speaks, she’s charting his every move. The shift in him from sharp, panicked breaths to deep, languid lungfuls. The fear with which he pulled back his hand. The way he’s fighting now to keep from reaching out. He’s two beings. One, a child cast into a new reality. The other a cocksure Cheshire cat.
And yet, he can’t quite figure out what makes him flip.
“He’s not lying about your beauty,” Michael murmurs thickly. “He says mortal men would kneel in worship at the very sight of you.”
“Do you believe everything your father tells you?”
Michael isn’t fully sure what he’s doing as he raises damp fingers to brush her cheek. As if his actions aren’t entirely his own.
Is this what desire feels like?
It burns.
Lilith stands still as a statue under the touch of his fingers, her expression a mixture of amusement and satisfaction.
“No,” he whispers with conviction. “But you,” he breathes her scent in like smoke, “he most certainly was not lying about you. Why are you here?”
She sees it only fit to feed his thoughts back to him.
“Curiosity.”
“I hear curiosity kills.”
“I hear satisfaction resurrects.”
Michael’s full lips split into a smile. “Is that what you want, Lilith? Satisfaction?” He surprises himself as the word spills from his lips.
“Resurrection.”
And just like that, she’s gone. His hand left hanging in empty air.
~Miss Robichaux’s Academy~
Cordelia sat in her greenhouse in the early hours of the morning, flipping through a dusty book for answers she wouldn’t find.
A scratching sound at the door caused her to jump and send her powers outward, searching for a threat. Nothing. She opened the door to empty air and was just about to shut it before she felt something brush against her leg.
A bobcat affectionately wound itself around her ankles before dropping a note at Cordelia’s feet. She bent down to retrieve it and gave the animal a few pats before it became more concerned with a squirrel in the yard and sprinted off.
Cordelia closed the door and returned to her table before unfolding the paper. Elegant cursive curled across the page as fast as her eyes could scan it.
Your suspicions are well founded.
He is still fresh. It’s not yet my time.
Appeal to his naiveté. Trust your instincts.
He may pass the test, but he is no Supreme.
No sooner had she finished reading, than the note burned up in cold blue flame.
Cordelia felt her shoulders sag in relief as a small smile tugged at the corners of her mouth.

Prologue
In the beginning there was man, and that is how it all began. The truth is, there was indeed a man, his name was even Adam, but he did not begin his life with Eve, far from it. He wasn't even the first human created, Lilith was made first from the soil of the Earth! God had a plan, he didn't really think it through, when Lilith was plopped into the Garden he gave her Adam, also from the soil, to populate the world. Sadly Adam didn't seem to bond with Lilith and their children were not as God had expected, so he banished her and their children and made another human named, you guessed it, Eve. He used one of Adam's ribs to create this symbol of womanhood, and Adam fell for her instantly. He wasn't the only one though! While God was busy playing with his new toys, his son Lucifer grew tired of his father's many schemes. Most of the time, Lucifer is portrayed as blond with piercing blue eyes and always extremely beautiful. That depiction is mostly true, except he isn't blond, his hair is very dark, almost as black as the night sky, and it only makes his blue eyes seem even more mesmerising. His beauty often hides his darker side, he wasn't evil to begin with, even now he's not truly evil, he's just totally jaded, bitter and cynical. Back when God was making his little planet called Earth, Lucifer's dislike of humanity started because of delusions of grandeur and his arrogance. Being instructed to bow down to these lesser beings was a step too far for him and he rebelled against his Father when he was told to show them respect and to treat them as equals...that was until Lucifer laid eyes on Eve, a human, you see the true reason that Lucifer was cast out of heaven and banished to hell was down to a simple act of lust...but if you ask him, he calls it love.
Like many of the other archangels, Lucifer possessed skills and certain powers, all of his siblings had different "party tricks" and Lucifer's favourite was shape shifting, in particular transforming into a serpent. Now the Garden was almost impossible to get into if you were an angel, God's creatures however, well they got a free pass. And so Lucifer was granted entry in his serpent form, he just wanted to see Eve in the flesh, just a little peek. She was so cute in her little fig leaf outfit, her long brown hair and hourglass figure. Lucifer's only obstacle now was Adam, the big dumb smelly human that she was living in the Garden with. Lucifer visited a few times before he made actual contact with the object of his affection. God had told Adam and Eve not to touch the fruit that grew on the largest tree in the Garden, they happily obeyed and the tree remained in perfect condition, never picked...until one fateful day. Lucifer watched Eve fawn over stupid Adam, even bear his children, it drove him mad. She only had eyes for him, he was a handsome specimen, even Lucifer could appreciate how aesthetically pleasing he was. During his constant visits to the Garden, Lucifer's older brother, Michael, grew suspicious of him and where he was disappearing to. Archangels rarely left heaven and when they did it was under God's instruction, but young Luci was always rebellious and wasn't one for following the rules. He had already devised his plan to attract Eve and make her his forever, he just needed to deal with the dumb blond who's whole life was controlled by the organ in his fig leaf and not the one in his head. Lilith, now roaming the Earth and transformed into something demonic and vengeful outside the Garden, was easy to manipulate, Lucifer promised her Adam if she would just help him get Eve out of the Garden to be with him, and in return Lilith could take her rightful place beside her husband. There was only one problem with this plan, Lilith didn't want Adam back, she wanted him dead. Luci wasn't bothered how she distracted him, as long as he got Eve it was of no interest to him. The only problem with his plan was that Adam would be banished but there was nothing stopping God from creating another human for Eve, so Lucifer had to make sure she would be banished too. Bring on the fateful day!
Lucifer slithered into the garden and sat at Eve's feet, when her head was turned he transformed into his angelic form and startled her. She looked him up and down, "Who are you? You're not Adam!"
"No!" He replied, Lucifer felt tongue-tied and shy, something he'd never experienced before, "I'm Lucifer, and I have a gift for you!" He produced the Forbidden Fruit from behind his back as Eve gasped.
"Oh no, where did you...we're not supposed to touch that! It is forbidden!"
"It's okay, my dad owns this place, he won't mind!"
"So...you're an angel?" Eve's wide eyes scanned his face. Lucifer smiled bashfully, unable to meet her gaze.
"Better!" He mumbled, "I'm an archangel!" With a smirk he thrust the fruit under her nose, "Go on, have a bite!" He winked at her, seeing her eyes sparkle at the prospect. She really wanted to, he could tell. It took a few moments, but then Eve took the fruit from Lucifer and pressed it to her lips, staring him in the eyes for an age, she finally bit into it as the juices trickled down either side of her mouth, "Good huh?" Lucifer nodded with a huge smile, she was his now, there was no way his Father would ever forgive this!
"Mmm!" Eve murmured, swallowing down the bite of fruit, wide eyed, she turned heel with a squeak and announced, "I have to tell Adam, he'll love this!" Lucifer groaned then he was hit with a realisation, if she went to Adam...
"Noooo, wait!" He called to her lazily, "Don't do thaaaat!" Stifling a laugh, he watched as she skipped into the little forest where they slept, passing children running around, the two older ones, Cain and Abel, bickered and threw fists at one another, a regular occurrence, as their mother called out to their father...
"Adam!" Eve exclaimed as she reached the little alcove, "Adam you have to taste this it's..." Her words got caught in her throat as she was met with a horrific sight, Adam being straddled by some sort of hideous female creature, "A-a-a d-demon!" She exclaimed and backed into something solid, Lucifer.
As Lilith continued to writhe and moan atop of Adam, he desperately tried to free himself from underneath her. "Eve!" He panted, as his attempts to push Lilith aside were to no avail.
"No-no-no, it's a demon!" Eve cried, as Lucifer took hold of her arms and tried to calm her. Lilith produced a dagger and raised it above Adam's heart, but before she could deal the fateful blow, he managed to escape from under her and ran to Eve.
However it was too late! Adam vanished, Eve screamed, then Lilith vanished too. Only she and Lucifer remained, until he also disappeared while exclaiming "Oh sh-..." Adam's punishment for committing adultery was to roam the earth outside the garden with Lilith and their children. Eve was severely reprimanded and sent back to the Garden to raise her children, and Lucifer...
Well we all know the story, or do we? Lucifer was brutally punished by God, his Father, and under his orders, had his wings clipped by Michael. He was then cast out of Heaven, falling to earth, but he didn't stop there. God gave him a job, one that no archangel or demon wanted, the job of overseeing Hell! As Lucifer landed on the burning ground of the Underworld, dragging his body up he shapeshifted one last time. The beautiful blue eyed archangel known as Lucifer was now a red skinned, cloven hooved, horned monster consumed with bitterness and rage. His heart broken and his body bruised, he could no longer be Lucifer the archangel, he was now reborn...into Satan!

The Villains of Shadowhunters. Part 2.
…thoughts, opinions, reflections, and predictions of past, present, and future villains. I wanted to talk or post about the Shadowhunters’ villains, because heroes are not without villains. So, I dig within the books, myths, lores, and the show’s perspectives. WARNING: Major Books’ spoilers!!!!
I will be discussing about Valentine, Sebastian, Lilith, Lorenzo, and Asmodeus. And how Sebastian is linked to Magnus.
And I do not know what the show will do and how much of the books will make it to season 3…so, it kinda a big rants on the villains and the what’s ifs.
I do wanna hear from you guys too…on your views on the past, present, and future villains.
This is a long post. Bear with me.
Season 3
Lorenzo, Lilith, and Asmodeus.
All three names have been mentioned and confirmed. These are my thoughts and predictions. I do not know what the show will do…but I am going to use what I got from the books, lores, and hints from the show.
Lorenzo
I don’t know “how much” damage he will bring. He might be a surprise. All the teasers might be a distraction. To me, he’s the other side of the conversation. Some of the audience and the fans often forgets that…Magnus relationship with the Shadowhunters also comes with consequences too. Now, that he’s in a relationship with the Head of Institution…things will never be the same.
Know one thing…a very important factor. That all the choices that were made were motivated TO PROTECT. Yes, some people were mad at Magnus for the choices he made. However, I have seen comments more driven by being an Alec bias to forget that Magnus also has his reasons and his feelings. I understood both Magnus and Alec’s choices. It’s more rewarding to see the whole story…instead of narrow-mindedness, just saying.
There’s always two sides of a story.
The theory is Lorenzo is here to take Magnus’ title as the High Warlock…because he believes Magnus is unfit due to his agreement with the Seelies. How does Warlocks become High Warlock? It’s based on skills, talents, power, and reputations. Either, you’re appointed, you freely take up the title, or you can challenge another for it.
I have rewatched some of the episodes…Magnus was not the only one. There were other warlocks, including Catarina there. Sure, they were there to help Magnus…but it is also very clearly stated that Magnus was there to help the warlocks and other Downworlders. Unfortunately, the show didn’t connected the dots enough for the audience. And Izzy, did say the wards that was created did help but people only saw pettiness. Things like this definitely needs more reforms within the show’s editing and directions.
Punishing Magnus for this…to me is only the surface to the real reason. Because, if we are going to point fingers. Nobody is innocent. Instead, Lorenzo is there to punish Magnus for working with the Shadowhunters. I can see…within the Downworlders, Magnus might be seen as a traitor. Magnus did say to Alec, that his reputation is also on the line (associating himself with a shadowhunter). Which a lot of fans seems to forget that Alec is also NEW to Magnus.
Since season 1, he has been nothing but…unfortunately, their pet. Hence, The Warlock Pet. They are always at his door, asking for something. Do this and do that. Magnus is very kind and giving character. It’s kind of a curse. He is canonically written as so. So, he does it. Even with sass and salt, he still does it. What he hasn’t done much…is his work. His other obligations to the Downworlders. So, punishing Magnus for protecting his kind is stupid and narrow.
I know, that the show is limited and we can only assume things but like how Todd had to apologized for not telling the audience (at SDCC) that Magnus did get his Spell Book back…because damn, it’s THE Spell Book. Magnus’ SPELL BOOK. Which, he kept locked and secured. So, it’s important part of him. That is called, poor management, writing, and direction. He did canonically say…that Alec returned it to Magnus. Boyfriend brownies’ points that we did not get to see.
Magnus Bane Deserves Better. So, to me…Season 3 and Lorenzo will be an open door to something much bigger…and that it’s not the Clary’s show. Yeah, I said it. I like Clary but all these characters play a larger part on a larger scale. If you only thinking one side…you will miss out in some good storyline and development.
I want you think this…if a war is coming. A strategy to use is to weaken and eliminate a powerful element and ally. Magnus has been that element for the Shadowhunters. Lorenzo will bring doubts and will dig into Magnus’ insecurities. Being a High Warlock is an honor…it’s apart of Magnus’ identity and to take it away is to break him…weakening the dynamic and the alliance between the Shadowhunters and a powerful Warlock. Just a thought.
Lilith
The adopted mother of Sebastian. She will be the main villain of season 3. She is the mother’s wrath. The Shadowhunters has hurt her son. Simple, she will hurt and kill those who hurt him. Sebastian is her special son.
Lilith is a mother. Seriously, a mother. It’s a big part of her identity. In lores, she is the mother of demons. There’s a version of her in many mythology and lores. From the Bible, to the Roman’s, to the Arabic’s , to the Hebrew’s texts…etc. Including modern lores like CW’s Supernatural…but it’s important to not mistaken this show for the other. In Jewish mythology, she a demon of the night and literally known for stealing babies. Which is an interesting aspect to consider in her relationship with Sebastian….another tale, states she was actually Adam’s first wife but she refused to have sex with Adam…so she was cast out of Eden and turned into a demon. Than, Eve was made and made to be obey. Yes, incredibly sexist and disgusting. Which, is an important to remember how Lilith sees mankind…and mortals and men.
In the books, they did follow the Adam, Lilith, and Eve story…a little. She is basically one of the first humans. The first immortals. She did disobey and they punished her…by making her barren or infertile. Interesting element to keep in mind with her relationship with Sebastian. When she was cast out…she got into a relationship with a fallen angel, Sammael. He was her lover. Through their union…she became the first human turned demon. They sired the beginning of warlocks, witches, and fairies. Basically, she and him started Downworlders on earth. They sired a lot of Downworlders, which then the angels punished them and trapped them into place called the VOID. Book facts, Lilith can only stay on earth for a few hours…if not she will be pulled back to the VOID. This was created by the angels. Sammael was later killed by Micheal, the angel. Lilith…became the Lady of Edom and Mother of Warlocks. She also to the Shadowhunters, categorically label as a Greater Demon. However, I personally think she isn’t…because she was never an angel. She was human.
Here, the current link and note from shadowhunters wiki…to my predictions for season 3 villains’ arc:
“…Some time in the 1990s, Lilith was summoned by the young and ambitious Shadowhunter, Valentine Morgenstern. Lilith agreed to give Valentine her blood for his experiments, and Lilith took an interest in the unborn child Valentine had been giving her blood to via his biological mother, knowing he will be a powerful being—according to her, even more powerful than all the Greater Demons, and more mighty than the Asmodei. Lilith has since kept tabs on Sebastian, whom she sees as her own son and herself as his true mother”.
This is important…Lilith wants Sebastian to be the most powerful. Like any mother…she wants her son to be the best. Not against the best of the Shadowhunters but against Asmodei. Here…are you still with me. Asmodei are the children of Asmodeus. In the books, Asmodeus is the most powerful of the Greater Demons. My assumptions, is through Sebastian…she will overthrow Asmodeus and take Edom…or Edom and the other dimension, Earth.
Keep in mind, Edom is a dimension. A mirror image of earth…with their own mundanes, Downworlders, and Shadowhunters. But in this dimension…the Shadowhunters lost and Asmodeus and his children took over Edom. Why did they lose?…this is “Really” important here and a major theme of the books and show…the Edom’s Shadowhunters were more prideful and unwilling to work and live peacefully with the Edom’s Downworlders…through the discrimination and treatments, the Downworlders aligned themselves with their true parents…Papa Asmodeus and Mama Lilith. Joined Asmodeus, the Asmodeies, Lilith, and the others demons and overthrown the entire dimension.
Lesson here, if the killing and the discriminations of the Downworlders continues…history will repeat itself. Unfortunately, the relationship with the Downworlders and Shadowhunters has always been on thin ice. And true, people within both sides are trying to better the relationship but old wounds don’t heal over night.
Interesting books’ facts, Lilith was in a sexual relationship with Benedict Lightwood and he got Demon Pox from her. Demon pox is a disease you get from having a sexual relationship with “some” demons. They tried to cure him of the disease…instead turned him into a worm…it’s weird, shameful, and embarrassing history of the Lightwoods. But…that’s her link to the Lightwoods.
Season 3, will be major driven by Sebastian and his mother. They will start small first…Sebastian heals…Lilith will send her demons minions and other allies to keep the Shadowhunters busy.
Asmodeus.
I think he is the Big Bad. Lucifer isn’t mentioned much in the books. He is kinda of overused in many media already. So, it’s more exciting to expand to the other characters of this lore.
I think, he will make an appearance in season 3. Towards the end. One teaser hashtags is #Asmodeusknowsbest, keep that in mind.
Asmodeus like Lilith…is not an original Mortal Instruments’ character. He is also mentioned throughout history in many textbooks. Asmodeus, the King of Demons, King of The Nine Hell, and one of the Prince of the seven deadly sins. He is the demon of lust. Lucifer is the demon of pride. If you’re wondering. In the books, he is the ruler of Edom and a prince of Hell. He also the general of Hell’s army. And a fallen angel. Brother to Lucifer and Raziel, the Shadowhunters’ angel. And…of course, he is Magnus’ father.
Remember, how I told you that Asmodeus and his children took over Edom. In Edom, his children is called Asmodei…on earth, they are known as Warlocks. Hence, Magnus. This is important here…Magnus isn’t like other Warlocks.
Warlocks are made by demons…which the show did informed the audience through Iris’ house of horror. Asmodeus…is a fallen angel. His children isn’t just the basic traditional Warlocks…they have angel blood. Asmodeus’ blood. Magnus in the books “canonically’ reacts to Shadowhunters’ tools and weapons…interestingly, because he has angel blood. Sure, fallen angel’s blood but still angel. Often, Shadowhunters’ weapons, tools, and runes are protected and would hurt and kill Downworlders…who dares to touch or tamper with them.
I will say this…and have said it many times. Asmodeus was a disappointment of the books. Sorry, not sorry. I read the books and spend my own money on them…so, opinions are opinions. I am a fan…as a fan, I can also criticize. I am not alone in this opinion. Don’t get sensitive, book stans. I love both the show and the books.
Asmodeus was a strong built up…I had a lot anticipation for him but instead…it’s was mediocre. He’s so powerful but yet…this is it? The children of angels finally comes face to face with a Fallen Angel…basically the Lucifer of the Mortal Instruments and all he wanted was…Simon’s memories. Sure, taking Simon’s memories is sad but…it didn’t last long. Simon did regained his memories…so forth. Not much of a threat. Which is so unfortunate, most when Asmodeus can be so much more. Literally, why isn’t he?
Will the show follow this? I hope not. I am all for the show and books to a common ground. It shouldn’t be a match. Sorry, but no interpretation has ever been a perfect replica. So, like CC said…the show is a fanfiction. So fingers crossed, I really want a badass and epic Asmodeus.
To me, Asmodeus unfortunately became…a part of the writer’s last book curse. Yeah, I call it a curse. Often, long series…the last book tends to fall short compared to the success of the others…especially the conclusion of the tale. I know, I am generalizing it and not all series got the curse but…I read a lot of books and there’s always something about the last book…like the last season of a TV series, it often never meet the demands. As a writer, myself…I know this curse.
However, Asmodeus like the anticipation I had when I read Heavenly Fire…he had a lot of potential. So, the show has an opportunity to give Asmodeus, the justice he deserves and the show deserves…we need a real big infamous villain.
Why do I think he’s the Big BAD. Because him and his children were able to overthrown an entire world and destroyed all of Edom’s Shadowhunters. Edom, once was just like Earth (Edom was suppose be a mirror image of Earth, with their own differences…of course) but now with demons as it main population…years later it became a wasteland.
Now, why not…move on to the next world. A new playground. One of the biggest reason for the Fall of Edom was because of the Shadowhunters’ pride and hatred towards the Downworlders. Leading the Downworlders to turn to Asmodeus and His children for help. And that’s how Edom became the Edom. Edom is the Mortal Instruments series’s version of hell.
My predictions here, it will start with Sebastian and Lilith…they will start a war. There’s two directions here. Either Lilith helps Sebastian with his vengeance and kill all those who have wronged him and in return help her conquer Edom. I say this because she believes she can make Sebastian stronger and more powerful than Asmodeus and his children. The other direction, Asmodeus does work with Lilith and Sebastian to a point…however, I do believe they will betray each other. There’s is no way Asmodeus will let Lilith Shadowhunters’ mortal son take his throne. Especially, when he’s unstable and a brat. Not when he has his own son….Magnus. How I see it, let Sebastian and Lilith weaken the group’s bond and start a war to divide the Shadowhunters and the Downworlders.
Here’s a thing. Asmodeus is an angel and he still must abide to the “free will” rule. No angel or demon cannot take the will…the will must be given to them. It’s an act of mockery towards God, who gave the mortals their free will…and to tempt the mortals in giving his or her soul to a demon is basically a “told you so.” However, it is also protection. Free will means you choose your path. Hence, why demons are big on temptations, selling souls, and haunting. They have power…and will use the power to break the individuals to give over their will…and there is also some serious daddy’s issue here too…which is a common theme in this show.
This is where Magnus comes in. If history does repeat itself…with the current relationships between the Shadowhunters and Downworlders…as I call it…thin ice and if Edom is the mirror image of Earth…get where I am going here. Asmodeus will need Magnus to take Earth and destroy The Clave and The Shadowhunters. Asmodeus’ children makes him stronger and more powerful. He needs Magnus.
But here’s the bigger scale…why he is Big Bad to me…unlike Valentine. He and his army will kill them all…both the mundanes and the Shadowhunters and any Downworlders in between. Basically, the classic world domination plot. Here’s something…his motives is different…I don’t want it to be because of “power’ but because of who he is…Asmodeus was an angel. He has seen heaven and he know what is considered as “good” and “beautiful.” But when he saw the creation of men and women…Lucifer, Asmodeus, and the other brothers saw evil within. Freedom is a dangerous thing.
A world of true evil…which is a reflection of us. He is Valentine with a bigger upgrade. To a fallen angel, it’s not Downworlders, Shadowhunters, races, religions, sexualities, politics, etc…it’s humanity that is the problem. To the Fallens, the mortals will never be good. They were not made perfect. Flawed creatures. Motivated by greed, selfishness, lust, pride, etc…to Asmodeus, Adam and Eve…God’s first mortals…also fell from grace…I think to Asmodeus…he just wants his father to know that all his children are disappointments…and that he was wrong. How many of us…wants to prove our parents wrong? This goes back…why Asmodeus is The Villain. His motives are like Valentine and Sebastian but the scale is bigger. He against someone much more powerful than the Clave.
These are my thoughts and predictions. Honestly, I don’t know what will happen and how much will make into a 40-ish minute show, I don’t know. But…through using aspects of the books, mythology, and lores…these villains can have the potential to shine. And yes, they will be hard, unpredictable, difficult, and awful to the characters…but a hero is not without a villain.
So, any thoughts?
Do forgive me, I wrote this on a rant style. Thee grammar is terrible. hahaha.

COMIC TEA PARTY- THURSDAY BOOK CLUB START!
Good evening, everyone~! This week’s Thursday Book Club is officially beginning! Today we are discussing Littlelight Asylum by Julian Dominguez (Writer), Esther Pimentel (Artist), and Toben Racicot (Letterer)~! (http://littlelightasylum.spiderforest.com/)
Remember that Thursday discussions are completely freeform! However, every 30 minutes I will drop in OPTIONAL discussion questions in case you’d like a bit of a prompt. If you miss out on one of these prompts, you can find them pinned for the chat’s duration. Additionally, remember that while constructive criticism is allowed, our focus is fun and respectfully appreciating the comic. All that said, let’s begin!
QUESTION 1. What is your favorite scene in the comic so far and why?
i think for me, my favorite scene is hands down when cthulhu shows up and lays the smack down. this might be biased from really liking to see cthulhu get around. but i also just kept being like "this squid kid reminds me of cthulhu" and then my assumptions were vindicated
keii4ii
Yup XD
I also liked seeing Eve get excited for the Crimson Archer
mathtans
That was pretty cool. I also liked just earlier when Eternal Flame was still the dork.(edited)
Yup, gotta imagine Eve squee face.
RebelVampire
yeah i liked the timing for it too. cause eve stonewalled for so long but then gotta have that little quieter squee when the actual hero showed up.
although i also liked when lilith was all squee but then immediately turned on the tsundere "its not like i like this at all" XD
mathtans
I like her personality. Vaguely Spock-like. She's sensible.
Eve, that is.
Also, MASSIVE bonus points for "drum roll". That was too good.
keii4ii
On a more subtle note though, I also liked that Eve hid the video games, AND that her gaming stash had both of the other characters' favorite games. Sometimes you wonder why/how some characters get along, and it's subtle details like that that grounds the relationship for me, by showing that they have more in common than it may seem.
mathtans
keii: That's an excellent point. She's a good friend.
Though how could you not get along with Hollow.
RebelVampire
i liked that moment too because i think it demonstrates both eve's intelligence and that for monster kids, taking away their stuff is really not that easy. so it was a moment that kind of did some subtle and excellent world building as well.
mathtans
I think Eve is the only one who can portal though.
keii4ii
Yeah
the person who took the stuff wasn't expecting it at all
mathtans
(And there's just this dude living in there, that was funny...)
RebelVampire
true but i dont doubt the others could find a way to hide their games. like lilith seems like shes 100% use magic....that would ultimately mess up in some fashion. hollow might be screwed unless he decides to bury his games in the backyard.
granted i wouldve thought headmistress light wouldve realized eve kind of has some op powers for someone her age
mathtans
Fair. I do think Light is happy so long as there's no destruction of property going on.
keii4ii
Though if the average monster kid is good at sneaking stuff around, I would think others would be more aware/skeptical
mathtans
I'm still trying to figure out my feelings about Lilith. She seems pretty self-absorbed.
keii4ii
She kinda seems like the meanie who hangs out with the good kids because she does get lonely, and no one else will tolerate her
RebelVampire
tbf tho their tolerance isnt the highest. since the first scenario they basically said "nope lilith has to clean up her own mess" until it wasnt possible for them to leave it alone
im interested in what shaped lilith's personality to be as it is
keii4ii
I found it interesting that she seemed to genuinely like Sona as a character, as opposed to just "I like her because her game is fun." Sona seemed like she had a decent personality (or maybe that's just my assumption based on "typical video game main characters" )
RebelVampire
nah sona had a nice personality cause she was all positive in the brief moment we see her. very opposite of lilith. so it makes me wonder if lilith has had a bit of a troubled childhood. like i mean dont get me wrong, shes mean. but given shes also a kid you always have to wonder how genuine it is and how much of it is putting on airs and acting in a way she thinks is expected of her.
cause i know her profile even mentions shes half demon or something. so she could be thinking "no im a demon gotta do the evil"
Superjustinbros
Hey there, just popping in to say hello since I'm a bit occupied with something else atm
if I can make it later I'll jump into the chat proper
(I do want to say briefly that this story has some appealing character designs)
keii4ii
It could be something like, she doesn't get along with the Less Evil of her parents (could be the demon, could be the other one), so she's latching onto evil being desirable. But that's a total stab in the dark at this point in time
RebelVampire
true. could be opposite in that the witch parent is more evil. or they could both be evil
QUESTION 2. The cast of the comic is colorful to say the least. Did any of the characters in particular strike you as interesting? If so, who and why? Why do you think Lilith is at the orphanage when she implies she has parents? Who are her parents and where are they? What about Eve and Hollow? Do you think they’re actually orphans or are there mitigating circumstances to why they’re at the orphanage? What do you think Eve’s implied connection to Cthulhu is? What about Hollow? Any theories that turn what we believe about Hollow on their head? Do you think the three main children will manage to stay friends despite their differences, or will one of them cause a rift?
keii4ii
I do think an "the friends have a fight, but realize it was silly and reunite to defeat a foe that they could not have defeated individually" episode is likely, though it's still early on and can't really say what might cause such a scenario
RebelVampire
i could argue thats sort of their whole relationship tho. the whole friends fight but reunite
cause even the first issue basically kind of does this
keii4ii
Yeah
But I mean something more... extreme
The first one seemed like a daily occurrence kinda thing
But like, something that makes them think, "great, I'll never talk to the other two again"
RebelVampire
actually what i hope happens is that lilith is the great ill never talk to the other two again
has a solo adventure but comes back
and eve and hollow are were like "what do you mean our fight and friendship breakup? we thought you were just being you"
keii4ii
If that happens, I would like to see it contribute to Lilith's character growth long term, even if very subtle
mathtans
Sorry, had to deal with little one here. Just to finish my earlier thought...
Lilith seems to have this need to prove herself to someone, so there's that, but she's not great at considering the consequences. Like even being forced to clean up the kitchen. It's an interesting counterpoint to Eve... and I guess since my personality's more like Eve, I have little issues.
I think Lilith was probably left at the orphanage by a relative who just couldn't deal any more... her parents were maybe going to come back to said relative's place at some time. Now Lil's trying to get their attention, maybe?
RebelVampire
maybe. i feel like something deeper is going on. cause normally if you couldn't deal with a child youre watching you just ship them back to their parents. not send them to an orphanage.
not to mention lilith is a bag of trouble
and if i was the headmistress and knew lilith had parents who didnt abandon her forever, i wouldve been like "oh whoops back to your parents you go"
although nobody might know where the parents are
maybe lilith's witch parent is as bad as magic
are trapped in a video game
mathtans
Yeah, I figured maybe it was a "no forwarding address" kind of thing. Possibly because one of them is wanted, and they don't want their ties to the kids to be an issue.
Heh, that'd be amusing, if Lilith's witch parent had the same trouble with spells. Came by it honestly.
As to parent/kid ties, I feel like Eve is maybe a reincarnation of Cthulu or something. Which is why she can channel subconsciously?
RebelVampire
or the secret child. cause i mean of course cthulhu would abandon a kid. not out of evil but cthulhu has evil cthulhu stuff to do. no time to be raising kids. but ya know, can make time to show up and say "dont you tocuh my kid weird demon fellow"
but reincarnation works too
never considered that
or maybe eve just is cthulhu
the only one
and that was just an astral projection of her power or something fancy like that
mathtans
Yeah, monster adults be busy and all. Speaking of, I wonder if the other beings are kind of in their own dimension somewhere? Or if there are pockets in the real world? I mean, seemed like a normal town not too far away.
Eve is a chibi-cthulhu.
RebelVampire
it could just be both cause this seems like one of them tricky magic worlds where every answer is probably plausible O_O
i want to know why hollow can breathe fire on a side note. like is this werewolf lore i dont know about XD
mathtans
They live in video games.
Hollow eats a lot of spicy peppers.
keii4ii
I'm not aware of fire-breathing werewolf lores, but now that I think about it, it'd be really cool(edited)
to see a howling wolf exhale a long stream of fire into the moon
mathtans
Maybe it comes from the human side. Born of one of those fire eaters in the carnivals and a werewolf.
keii4ii
Unlikely but not impossible: could be a loose reference to the eclipse dog that tried to eat the sun (and failed)
mathtans
Hm, not one I know of.
RebelVampire
QUESTION 3. The world of the comic is interesting to say the least. How do you think Littlelight Asylum manages to stay under the radar given its unique composition of occupants? Do you think we’ll see Mel again? Further, do you think Mel will manage to expose Littlelight Asylum for what it is, or will Mel’s efforts wind up in vain? How abundant do you think monsters are compared to humans anyway? What do you think would happen if normal humans found out about the orphanage? Will it turn out okay, badly, or do you think they have safety nets in place? Lastly, why do you think Headmistress Light continues the orphanage when it causes her many headaches and risks a lot?
RebelVampire
ive never heard of that one either but i dont mark it off as impossible either. it was just a weird detail that made me curious about hollow. granted tbf hes a wolf all the time so this def is a diff sort of werewolf
mathtans
Different rules and all... demons live in hats.
I think calling the place an "Asylum" is a good way to keep random visitors from showing up. Just saying.
Monsters must be more prevalent than one thinks though, if they're having relationships with humans? And if Mel has enough data to identify them as such?
I'm not sure about safety nets, btw. The best solution they had seemed to be get on the bus.
RebelVampire
well that orphanage alone was pretty populated from what it seemed. and having an orphanage implies that either 1) the population is large because generally you only have an orphanage that community raising isnt a viable option or 2) orphans in the monster world are extremely, extremely common and probably more orphans than kids with parents
thats a great point about asylum tho
that its used as a detterent
thats brilliant and i never considered that
mathtans
True, about the implications. It could also be that it's the only place on the entire Earth for them.
I wonder if anyone tries to send an actual human orphan to the place. Are they listed in the yellow pages?
RebelVampire
if they are actually using the asylum thing as a deterrent for humans, probably not
mathtans
About Headmistress Light... she may have inherited the place? It is sort of named after her.
RebelVampire
yeah her profile says as much
mathtans
Probably not. Unless you get a tax writeoff or something.
RebelVampire
that the place was her father's
mathtans
Ahh, I didn't recall the profiles.
RebelVampire
i assume she actually just cares about kids and knows that as monsters its not like they have anywhere else to go. cause you cant exactly send them to regular orphanages cause they might not understand the concept of not getting caught by a human lynch mob that well
mathtans
Yeah, I kinda feel the same. She also checked out the costumes before going into the town.
RebelVampire
i do think were inevitably going to see mel again. mel had too much potential as an antagonist
and i also think mel would be a good character way to show the human side of things
and how the humans might perceive monsters
and maybe actually show those preventitive measures
mathtans
Yeah, that does seem likely. I wonder what her damage is? Like, just give the weird monsters a chocolate and they'll leave you alone. You can then do all your plotting in secret.
Mel has her own issues, basically. ^^
I liked the explanation for why they went to her house even though they knew she was annoyed with them, btw.
Also, very topical for this time of year.
RebelVampire
yes. not even purposely timed XD
tbh tho i kind of also hope they turn mel into an ally
like show mel look we can go into the video games
and mel is like "ok this is cool i will help you now"
mathtans
Help them what though? Hide out? They've been pretty good at that.
Though it could be funny if Mel can cast spells properly, so Lilith gets advice from her.
RebelVampire
if not mel i do hope we get to see a more competent spell caster that can mentor lilith a bit. although i kind of hope all the kids get mentors. learn to become well-rounded ppl
QUESTION 4. The story is formatted in a way to offer lots of room for interesting scenarios. Are there any sorts of supernatural based scenarios you think might be interesting to see? Alternatively, is there something non-supernatural that you think it’d be interesting to watch the kids go through? Do you think we’ll see any of the antagonists from the previous scenarios again? If so, what do you think will happen? How many of the future scenarios do you think will be caused by Lilith’s magic going awry? Speaking of the supernatural though, what other sorts of cryptids or similar are you hoping to see character wise? Alternatively, is there a character you’ve seen already that you want to see more of based on their cryptid base?
RebelVampire
to answer one of those questions, id really like to see monster schooling. cause that must be a crazy mess
mathtans
I'm just trying to think of who'd be the mentors... might mix things up, have the wolves try to mentor Lilith...
I'm wondering if ghosts are a thing. Or contacting dead people. Particularly if parents are dead.
I hope the Lilith's magic going weird doesn't become a crutch... I liked how it was subverted a bit in the most recent one, where they were able to defeat the enemies.
RebelVampire
yeah. i do hope to see some character and skill growth
cause i really want lilith's magic to be useful at points
and for her to learn to maybe read the whole thing
and not invoke curses
mathtans
I feel like her learning might be a bit of a stretch. Could be interesting if they end up in classes though.
Like, are there spell casting classes?
RebelVampire
maybe
oh you know what i could forsee as a scenario
another witch joining the orphanage
that is way better at magic
mathtans
Ohh, that could be an interesting point.
Or even worse, like, gives Lilith a superiority complex.
RebelVampire
yeah that could happen to
unless the orphanage has that already, another witch. tbf id really like to see more of the kids in general. cause there were a lot of interesting and great designs already(edited)
and it could add to the kid's dynamic as well. like seeing how they interact with the others. cause lilith might not be the only one who's kind of outcasted from the other groups
mathtans
It's true. Maybe all three of the mains are kind of seen as the troublemakers by other kids too. So they end up by themselves.
Just looking at the character page again. It mentions that headmistress light has a power. Maybe she'll end up as a mentor?
Also, I wonder about Annabel there too.
RebelVampire
yeah. annabel i hope we get to see of more too. cause she looks sort of puppet or frankenstein like perhaps? so i want to know what her story is
granted i also want to know about bel too
i especially want to know how eve and hollow feel about bel
cause i assume they know bel exists
mathtans
Yeah, that would make sense.
Like, I would assume they figure he can't control Lilith any more than they can... so hmmm, what use is he?(edited)
RebelVampire
on the opposite end they might feel hes a bad influence on lilith
mathtans
Annabel could be a puppet, that might explain the pose after she fell off the ceiling, I hadn't considered that.
Maybe. Particularly if Bel's, like, reporting back to a witches council or something.
RebelVampire
he might just be a bad influence via not always discouraging lilith's crazy. you could make that argument at least
mathtans
Maybe he's really Lilith's dad in disguise.
RebelVampire
before the chat closes out, i want to add that i agree with super in that the character designs are really fantastic. theres a real great balance of detail and simplicity and i feel like all the designs really match the character theyre for.
mathtans
Dad's kind of a bumbling goof, doesn't want anyone to know. ^.^
Yeah, and I think the characters complement each other really well. Like, the more reserved sensible one, the off the wall random one, and the guy who's prone to excitement and is happy to be doing his best.
Even that second antagonist (if the ones at the start with the vines were the first), the Flame guy, he had some good motivations and things... and "eternal" wasn't just a catchphrase.
Btw, Hollow and Eve seem to share a room... does Lilith have a roommate, you think?
RebelVampire
well bel could technically be considered her roommate
probably just bel
lilith might spell another roommate into accident death
i liked eternal flame guy. he had the kind of over the top personality that is really fun
mathtans
There is always that danger.
RebelVampire
and i also liked that until cthulhu showed up he was op and able to beat children
mathtans
Extreme traits are interesting. Yeah, I liked the line "Oh, uh, are you with them" or whatever it was.
I suppose he could come back too, from the pocket dimension. Maybe he'll help to mentor them.
Anyway, should prove interesting to see what the next storyline is.
