Well shit. More than three people saw it and I shall give the masses what they want. DRABBLE/FIC POST IT IS!! (moots who are not in the dca fandom please don't roast me on a stake T_T)

I don't have a name for it because its short but a mini synopsis is basically Y/N come in during ruin but instead using the faz-wrench or whatever you just need to charge them lol. Also 'Y/N' isn't used in the story, it's just 2nd person.

The door to the decayed and ashy daycare creaked open, a little extra force needed to push the rubble in the way of the door. You knew it was a horrible idea visiting this place especially with the condition of the place and the fact of the last time you saw the daycare animatronic, they weren't exactly the most sane. But something deep in your gut wouldn't let you be relieved after hearing the place burnt down. So after a few months or so of it eating you alive (you didn't keep track), you decide to visit the remains of the daycare. Just to see if they were really still there, that is.

After fully sticking your head in and seeing just how burnt and crumbled everything is, you really do wonder why you're even investigating. The area looked abandoned for centuries after only being out for a year or so. Yet, something in you was refusing to let you turn back now, and you were sure it wasn't common sense.

You take a few steps in, the ground under your feet crunching even with you treating it like eggshells. You bring your flashlight up, and of course, it flickers before turning off. You grumble something under your breath as you slap it on your palm a few times, knowing this is basically how every horror movie starts. Eventually, your light is back, but dim and matching the rest of the gloomy vibe of the place that felt right out of an A24 movie.

You use your flashlight to really just stare in melancholy as you soak in your surroundings. An area once full of happiness, joy, and care turned into an area one would find best in their nightmares. Not like you didn't have them anyways. Ever since 'The Day', you practically either stayed up all night or had horrid nightmares about what happened. Eventually, you drift out of the spiral your mind usually goes to when thinking about the attendants and this place to remind you of the need to explore.

You take a few more cautious steps in, making sure to move your flashlights sight into any possible dark corner. The place really was in rubble the more you looked, and the more you really doubted they still had any possibility they were still around. A crunch under your feet for you to find to be one of Sun’s rays, only discouraged you more.

You crouch down, both to examine the ray and possibly take it home as memorabilia of him before spotting a familiar lanky endo-skeleton hand from around a corner of the desk. You put your flashlight before you, as if it would somehow protect you, as you creep around the corner.

To your relief, you don't get jumped, but instead find a limp and slightly burnt daycare attendant. Currently, he looked a mix of both persons out with his rays around his head yet his nightcap on. You awaited any sort of touch or for him to jump on you, yet nothing. Then you spot a cord going into his back plate, or at least, close to his back. It looked as if he tried to charge himself but a rat or such nibbled or pulled the cord out and never let them fully charge.

You stare in contemplation for a good minute, really debating on whether or not to really do something, but your curiosity and possible lack of self preservation kicked in as you leaned him forward a bit and plugged the charger right into his back like you had a million times before. Except this time he was both unconscious and possibly dead for good.

After plugging him in, you sit across from him and hold his faceplate, looking for any amount of life. Then a faint hum comes from his chest, so quiet you wouldn't have heard it if the daycare wasn't so still. You stand back up and take a few steps away, not knowing just exactly how he would wake up. The hum grows a bit louder as he sounds and glows like a computer booting up, the animatronic’s eye glowing faintly and staring blankly up at you.

The humming and growing white glow behind his eyes keeps you waiting and metaphorically biting your nails in anticipation. After a few minutes that felt like hours, a sudden sound other than humming occurred to make you jump a bit. "Starting reboot: please wait for a green light then open the chest plate and press the red button." He spoke, but without emotion and that eased you just a bit; it was prerecorded audio.

Wait, open his chest plate? Before you got to think on it, his eyes glow green as you can faintly see a red glow under his chest. If your nerves were high before, they surely were through the roof now. You'd seen his inner workings a few times before, and it was a nightmare. But you still got to the dirty ground on your knees once more and placed your hands on his cold chest plate.

You faintly remembered where the latch was, and were lucky enough to not have to search hard. Your hands quickly fell on the latch and clicked it open with a mechanical pop. Surely enough, his gears were slowly turning and churning with hints of rust and to your convenience, said red button glowing near where his heart would be if he were human. You tried not to think very metaphorically on that as you pushed the button and the gears grew faster as you shut the chest plate and stayed kneeling a bit close to him.

"Finishing reboot, starting now..." The voice came again from his lifeless shell, and their eyes glowing faintly once more before gaining pupils and their body finally seeming to wake up. 

They were back.

They stared in awe the same way you did, not another word said as they suddenly pulled you to a tight hug. Any other circumstance and you'd be kicking and screaming to get out but this felt... right. After so long, maybe this was what you needed. Their mechanical arms wrapping tightly and snagging a bit on the cloth of your clothing from all the open parts of their endoskeleton and exposed wires.

You couldn't really tell who was in control right now, Sun or Moon since they hadn't spoken yet, but you figured you didn't really need to know to reciprocate the silent hug that spoke a thousand words for the both of you.

Eventually, you realize you hear a faint sob from your shoulder where their head rests and their grip growing tighter as if you would turn to dust while they hugged you and muttered. "I'm so sorry... I never meant to... the fire was so scary..." The closer you listened, the more it sounded like it were switching between Sun and Moon before finally landing on Moon's familiar raspy and low tone in your shoulder. "I never wanted to do it..."
