This is a good question. I think the idea of yume family is so underrated and not thought about much due to the current state of canon. Like think of it Hino gave our ship a child. She made them mom and dad together and bonded them forever through a child. That being said I have a lot of headcanons but the ones I can think of the top of my head are

- yume fam love to take trips to Disneyland especially when Ai was a child. Ai would always insist on getting new ears on each visit and Kaname would spoil her each time while Yuuki shakes her head

- When Kaname comes home from work he almost always has a bouquet of roses to give up Yuuki and Ai always ends up encountering their cheesy moments and and she trolls them by calling them gross

- Ai wants to know what Kaname does at work that they end up doing bring your daughter to work days

- Kaname Yuuki and Ai all suck at cooking so they order out often

-yume fam go on weekend runs together. Yuuki always is ahead of them cuz she’s athletic while Kaname and Ai get tied easily since they aren’t very athletic

I know it's more of a writing flaw but i adore how she switches between being a threatening villain to the most incompetent moron ever (seriously girl you fake murder Dracula's reimcarnation's crush and you expect him to not instantly murder you? Fr?). Plus depending on the source she either is legit indoctrinated in her cult's beliefs which gives her a sad facet or she has the more selfish purpose of preserving her own dark magic (and what do i say? I can make both work. I think). Plus the way it can be implied that she might have contact n even collaboration w Arikado makes it better (sorry for the ppl reading this but yes it works i swear im not insane). Go silly gal go! Play Machiavellian schemes with the literal son of the dark lord and underestimate your enemy!

Oh boi and talking abt Arikado; the common idea of a grown up n stable Alucard finding stability after "ending" the cycle is fine and all, but the implication from his AoS n DoS behaviour that he is in a terrible mental state and unable to let go of the cycle? Beautiful. Amazing. Need me more of that. He's this beautiful mini reflection of the revenge cycle, and after living through it, with the goal of murdering his own father, for so long, and having it as his sole purpose, it has devoured him n broken him. And he now wants to take control of it with his own hands, is showing both the worst behaviour of both his father AND the Belmonts (haha SotN parallels w Richter) and might end up making matters worse :) (I blame you for indoctrinating me into the neg character arc Alu, thank u) Anyways someone force this poor moron to take vacations before he loses it

I can't decide if i want him to recover from the LoI events or if I want him to be consumed by his traumas and thirst for revenge but in any case he goes into the blender *puts him into a sock w stones and smacks him against the walls multiple times*

Also, salt warning here but i feel like fandom either exaggerates his neg traits and acts like Mathias descent into madness ("hello church can i abandon our very important military campaign to be at home w my best friend. He needs cuddles n emotional support that will surely fix him. No it's not gay dont worry. Thanks :)"), Sara getting sealed into the VK (which she insisted on and convinced him despite his initial refusal) n the Belmont clan's burden (he did got them into monster hunting w the whip but there's no way he knew how bad things were gonna get) were all 100% his very well informed fault; Or makes him into an idiot sunshine boi who doesn't knows what death is (he's an undefeated warrior with a who knows how large body count) can't think or lead (he maintained the company undefeated during Mathias' illness) and a perfect innocent n easy to manipulate uke for his sexy older seme (I'm not saying they canonically fucked you can perfectly interpret their relationship as 100% platonic or having something but deciding to respect their girls or etc etc. But if they did the nasty then he had to rail Mathias at least a couple of times). Yes my anger girl. Let her commit crimes. I wanna write a post abt her but to resume i love her as a symbol of destroyed innocence (ha). A sweet gal who did helped everyone and was good n nice and disliked violence only to have her life ruined in so many ways that her inner frustration blooms into a divine wrath n bloodthirst. Like i said before I adore her relationship w Leon and how they made eachother better n then worse :). Plus, the manual describes her as strong hearted! She obviously loved Leon n was happy to see him! sacrificed her life in order to not turn into a vampire and instead stop Walter from harming more innocents! She has agency and her choice was crucial not only for Mathias convoluted plan but for the whole cycle. (Ppl stop forcing the "boring 100% sweet harmless never angry gal who always got dragged around by men as an object" archetype on her challenge. Yes i used to be like that but i got gud. If i can recover so others can)

And then she had to see how Mathias betrayed her n Leon and then tried to take him, and dealt w the mess that post-canon Leon was, both together but separated, furious and crushed on the other's behalf, until his death :). AND then she had to wait hundreds of years to avenge him only to have to kill the same bastard over and over and over again. Mix in vampire corruption and you have a caring but toxic Belmont Matriarch/Whip stuck in the cycle. So yea let her have negative emotions and commit crimes (Sorry John).

Some thoughts on Descendants...

I have been watching this series way too much the last few months. It is legit my #1 guilty pleasure. But anyway, here are some thoughts I've wanted to get out... So let's go!

I'm not going to do spoilers for the Wedding special, but the moment for Carlos made me fight back tears. RIP Cameron Boyce. On a separate note, I love that the Happy Madison crew dedicated Hubie Halloween to him too.

This is by far the campiest Maleficent, but it works? Even in the original, she was sadistically playful. She doesn't exude evil like she should, but I get they weren't going for a scary tone. The villains are all mostly shells of their former selves.

But what is going on with Jafar? He turned into the lamp salesman? And Jay acts way more like Son of Aladdin... Did Jafar lose everything, *and* somehow get stuck raising Aladdin's kid? That's the only way I can reconcile how un-Jafar this guy is.

Cruella is spot-on though. I don't even mind that they diversified her to match Carlos being biracial: the actress just nails it. I wish they'd given her a bigger role, or at least an appearance in the 3rd.

I hate that they just call Grimhilde "Evil Queen". She's also more like Mother Gothel, but I get that the Evil Queen was too evil/similar to Maleficent. I understand why they played up the vanity/silly angle.

Oof, Prince Adam/Beast is not a good actor... And he's kinda a dick to Belle. I wish Prince Ben had been given a French name. I'm an etymology nerd, y'all. Prince Beau, maybe?

The limo scene kind of bothers me. Is it that the Isle of the Lost does have candy, just not chocolate and peanut butter? Mal stole that lollipop from the baby earlier. This is making me think too hard.

I read on reddit or somewhere that the VKs are named after their parents to reflect the narcissism of the Villains. I guess not Carlos/Cruella, but Mal/Maleficent, Evie/Evil Queen, and Jay/Jafar. I guess from that angle, Beau/Belle wouldn't really work.

So did Cinderella spoil her kid and never make him do a chore in his life? Why was she such a bad parent? Apparently Aurora and Phillip were bad moms and dads too? I do like that it fits into the series' overall theme though: your parents don't define you.

It's actually really sad when you think about how emotionally abusive the Villain parents are... Mal is treated like a tool for Maleficent's schemes, Evie is pressured to act like a shallow bimbo instead of showing how smart and kind she is, Carlos is Gothel-ed (stay with mummy or else evil fanged creatures will murder you!), and Jay... I really don't think Jafar is his dad. 😆 Aladdin must have had an affair with Jafar's sister or something, and Jafar is forced to raise the kid.

I do wish though... Why didn't they use canonically diverse characters instead of race-bending? Where is Tiana's kid? Pocahontas? Esmeralda? Jasmine? Kronk or Yzma? Yeah, there aren't a huge amount to choose from...

I do enjoy how they seem to have cast the main cast first, and then changed Cruella/Ursula/Queen Leah/Lady Tremaine to match the actors of the kids. That feels like a cool and respectful way to diversify the Disney cast, imo.

Who is Evie's dad? I think Sofia Carson is latinx, so my head-canon suspects Ernesto de la Cruz. Who is Carlos's dad? What about Uma's dad? We find out Mal's parents, at least. And I've already told you what I think about Jay.

I was shocked to find out that Harry Hook's accent is real. I 100% thought it was fake. He must be trying to do a pirate voice or something...

I wish Wicked World was canon. I can't make it fit in my head though. CJ Hook should have had a cameo in Uma's crew. And Frederique Facilier should have at least been mentioned...

Does anyone else wonder what the backstories are of some of the extras? Do you think they were given them or made them up?

I guarantee the extras in Uma's crew argued. "I'm son of Jack Sparrow." "No, I'm son of Jack Sparrow!". "Guys, guys... We can *all* be Jack Sparrow's kids. We know he got around."

Chad Charming acts more like he's Son of Gaston. Gaston's kid acts more like Kronk. Harry Hook also seems like he should be Jack Sparrow's kid.

So is Ursula still huge? Was she resurrected the same size as when she died? Because that tentacle is big.

Why isn't Hades bald? He should be bald, not... Whatever that hair is. His actor both looks and sounds like Michael Keaton Jr. Tell me I'm wrong.

He might not nail Hades overall, but the actor has angry Hades perfected. I don't remember where, but there's a point that he sounds exactly like James Woods (voice of Hades) when he's yelling.

...What is going on with Smee's kids? Isn't Mr. Smee just old? I never thought he was albino.

Dr. Facilier is actually a good dad? That's sweet. It's too bad they didn't pay to get Keith David, but this actor is a good stand-in.

Anyone else ship Jay with Son of Gaston? Apparently Harry Hook kissed Son of Gaston (I can't remember his name) in a deleted scene of the 2nd movie. I read Harry and Jay as bi, personally. Jay and Son of Gaston are really cute together! I see them as more than "bros" at the end.

I really wish the VK parents made a cameo at the end with Hades, Facilier, and Tremaine. Carlos makes it sound like at least Cruella is going to show up, but she doesn't. That actress was so good!

Okay fine we're doing this. I havent read the books and I'm probably not going to I've only seen the movies so I'm sorry if anything I say is contradictory or has already been stated.

So! Descendants 3 was kinda shit and I dont like it but especially because of the ending because everybody was like "oh yeah island is open and we're all happy with no worries or implications about free villains or people being spiteful about being imprisoned for years!" In fact if anything they joked about those things.

The island is basically its own culture, I can't say how long it's been around, long enough for some almost adult kids to be about and to develop a kind of community.

The Isle is a place of poverty, people are dirty and on the street, eveyone steals from each other and most people don't put much effort into appearance upkeep (personal or of the sourounding area) not because of laziness or being "evil" but because they clearly don't have time or luxury to do such things or possibly even the clean water. Does the Isle have clean water?? How to they get electricity??? Someone tell me!

Another thing that I've noticed is easy to see but is not much explicitly said is the unique style of those on the Isle. As previously stated they don't have much but those who have the most "power" and such on the Isle are the best example of this As they have the most colourful outfits. However these outfits are often made out of patches and ripped things put together, even salvaged things like nets and chains as we can see on thing like Uma and Harry's outfits in D3 they make the best of what they've got and they do fantastic because their outfits are intricate and detailed and just tell you everything you need to know about them. Which is why it's a damn s h a m e when the original VK's ajust their style to be more like Auradon's. That's not an improvement! Be proud of where you came from!! It's like they forgot what it was like being on the Isle in D3!

Moving on, here's something that was touched on in D2 but not enough. Equality. On the Isle there is basically equal opportunity as in saying everything is shit and nome cares what gender and presumably what sexuality you are as long as you can work. Sexism is shown to be almost casual in aurodon from the looks of it, Chad makes sexist comments and litterally none else says anything or seems to see anything wrong with it except Jay who caves to pressure from peers and expectations. He does redeem himself because he's from the isle and he knows you shouldn't give a shit about anyone's gender or anything. If they can do something and ask to be included you give them that opportunity. The sexism is also implied in the way that the rule book has men written specifically in the first place and that it has taken until then for anyone but boys to be allowed on any kind of sports team. We never see it! It seems to be the hetronormative veiw where the boys do sport and girls do cheerleeding and other genders? What other genders? Never heard of that? BAD AURADON!! I bet there's so many trans folk on the island just living their lives, thinking Aurodon is the better place and not knowing that it's a cis het filled nightmare.

Okay no I'm headcannoning now, if their are now a bunch of Isle kids at auradon prep they find it fucking aweful the way all these preppy royals are treating them and make the first LGBT club in Auradon. There is lots of pushback and they get bullied a fuck ton for making themselves the most prominent queer folk in the school until a fight breaks out and the club demand that they should be treated better, taking all the evidence to fairy godmother who is very hesitant because COME ON she's never been that great she is biased to Auradon kids and if putting away those in the Isle is brought up she is all on it, she is jelly spined about doing anything against the royal kids. So the kids are like "Fine, if you won't help us we'll take this to the King himself!" Well mainly the queer mom's of the group (you know the ones I'm talking about) who lead the others and protect the anxious queers as they storm to Ben at his fucking locker and demand an audience because they are being harassed and bullied and none is doing anything. Ben had no idea there was even a LGBT club (too busy ig) and is gassed there is one for a moment before he's like "wait people are harassing you?" So Bisexual King Ben gets his lovely Bi wife and they start coming to club meetings and investing in the pins and stuff the club makes. Most club members are pleased but the queer mom's are apprehensive that this will help until some assholes come to the club to do their usual bullying only to find King and Queen Beast themselves siting there with rainbow bracelets and bi pins and all trying to have a nice old time eating their fucking cupcakes what the fuck are yall doing? The bullying dies down quick once they realise it ain't gonna fly, the other OG VK's that hear about this become members and very protective over their queer children. Did I mention Dizzy and Ceila are a part of the club? They're girlfriend's. Celia is one of the queer moms. Harry becomes one of the biggest protectors over the group as the pan dad. He's been going around snogging everyone and anyone wholl snog him everyone already knew he was queer they just didn't have the balls to try and bully him over it as much as they bullied the lil club members. But now Harry can often be seen in jackets and shit with pan and general queer patches and pins and running around with his gay children yelling "MOVE WE'RE GAY!!" He totally calls them his queer crew. Anyway as a result lots of queer royals start coming out of the woodwork, obvs Lonnie is one of them, and the club eventually serves to bring members of Auradon and the Isle close together.

Where was I? Yada yada auradon expects girls to be pretty princesses and boys to be brave knights or dashing princes. It's shit and should stop being portrayed as good. Moving on!

Food! One of the things we'll established in all movies is that the food of the Isle is shit compared to food of Auradon. The Isle has no fresh fruit which likely means its almost impossible for things to grow there which is fair because again there doesn't seem to be much fresh water and there are always clouds overhead so no sun. Maybe there is some people trying really hard to grow stuff but the general attitude of the Isle seems to be "there is no time for that" and fruits are forgotten so much that the VK's litterally don't knownwhat they are when they come across them. That and anything containing sugar. Actually it's mention by Dizzy and Celia that they enjoy the fact that the cake dosent have dirt or flies so basically food there is terrible. We don't see much food on the Isle but what we do see seems to be beans, eggs, chips and shellfish. Basically protine and carbs that can be easily stored and produced. To be fair beans are kidna good for you but they're likely a sign that if they get any imports from the mainland it is canned stuff. Prison food. There's probably some chef villain that is trying their best to make good food out of the shit but honestly the Isle dwellers should be angry that they've been deprived of good food for so long not happy they're finally been given decency.

Moving on, music! Auradon dosent have nearly as many musical numbers it seems, the Isle songs have a distinct style, to them, the villains that basically "founded" the place were masters of the dramatic songs (with backup or solo) so banging music is basically ingrained in the music's culture, even for battle as we see with the fight between Mal and Uma in D3. Meanwhile Auradon seems to have mainly romance and "I want" songs. Even Audrey's villain song is basically an I want song.

Okay let's talk about the Villains. We've established that the VK's are not inherently bad. However not all of them can be totally good and there are legit OG Villains just kinda chillin on the Isle. They've obviously lost quite a bit of their power, motivation and sanity (isolation will do that to ya as they lost everything and the VKs know no different) but deadass? They were bad guys. You can try to rehabilitate them sure but you've basically just let them free roam, they could make a runner and you wouldn't get the chance. They were also shitty patents which is brushed over/joked about in the interaction between Carlos and...man I feel bad I forgot her name deadass their relationship seemed to come out of nowhere in the second film she didn't seem interested in them at all and friendzoned them multiple times I'm pretty sure Disney did that becaue queer kids were relating to Carlos and headcanoning them as queer (which they deffinatly are) but deadass their mom is an attempted animal murderer and has hurt her child as we can see from how they're afraid of her and her rhetoric and yet it's "haha I'm afraid to meet your ma!" "Me too cus im a dog! Lol!" Fuuuuck offfffff

I think I'm running out of thoughts so here's a last one for now; with the magical barrier down a bunch of magical Villains kids should be coming out for the woodwork. We know Mal has magic basically stored in her so it's is possible, she technically doesn't need the spellbook to do magic it is just inherent to her. So with the diverse range of people from the isle there are deffinatly magic folk in there. Actually if we're following Disney movie law I saw something mentioning Jay being half Genie and yeah! He should be half Genie! Jafar got turned into a Genie he's probably only human because of the barrier! Oh also Ben should be able to go beast on command as long as he had a better beast form than he did in the movies. And give him back the beard and fangs like fuck you he looked so much better

D3 redesigns - Auradon Kids

so the 2nd of 5 posts for my redesigns~! this time, the AKs~ again minus chad since his D3 outfits never bothered me

so we start with the king~! Beasty boi~!

give.this.fucking.child.more.diversity. he legit wears the same suit for like five scenes and the only other time he wears something different is the main outit, janes party, and when hades wakes up Audrey (which is the only one i didnt redesign...i think)  i dont have alot to say for Ben other than HE FINALLY HAS DIFFERENT OUTFITS THAT DONT LOOK HORRIBLE ON HIM YES. janes party was probably the worst offender of his D3 looks, like...wtf descendants designers? do you all hate Ben for some reason? his main is no longer a Auradon guard look alike but now is a random shirt, a leather jacket Evie made for him, some reinforced jeans, and steel toed combat boots, this king is ready to throw down. and his BTD, got inspiration from Beasts og animated outfit (tale as old as time) just anything than a plain old suit we’ve seen him in a million times.

Audrey!

Audrey was probably the easiest since i already redesigned her main and evil look before back in 2020 and i had several ideas for her sleepwear designs since wtf was that thing she was wearing in the movie oh my god that thing belongs on a fashion runway and that's it don't let it see sunlight please. i did like her OG btd dress but i wanted to, again, give her more of her D1 feel so i just kinda....did that? idk but i like it and its supposed to have a vine/flower pattern traveling across it but again im lazy. 

Doug! i dont particularly care for your character but you deserve to be redesigned as well since i kinda fix you in rewrite SO

i fucking had so much trouble drawing him so i just gave up and put my inspiration shit onto the canvas and called it a day. weirdly colored green and offset purple is not his color maroon is why the fuck would the designers keep stickling him in that the absolute fuck (maroon matches Evie a bit better too, purple and green DONT)

Jane, actually has cute outfits and i like them, minus her BTD outfit because what the shit is that thing burn it. SO cute off shoulder party dress with cute bracelets from Gil because GOLDEN RETRIVER AND BLUE BIRD ARE CUTE FIGHT ME. and yes the ribbon on her waist is translucent at the ends because i can, also her dress is shiny.

-Fgm always being a protective mom tm and looking out for the vks because they are her children now, no one can stop her

-how much its not just mal but the core four that ben doesnt like letting down, looking up to them and

-Bens little composure things he goes back into when he feels frustrated

-Lonnie legit not giving a shit and being a mischievous little shit. that’s it.

- Jay’s jersey being the number 8 cause snakes

-Evie sucking in her cheeks and fluffing her out when facing her mother

-Evie having quite the mischievous attitude and amusement in pranks

-Jane just vibing and basically actively deciding she trusts mal and evie to just vent to them

-Almost all the vks clothes have removable sleeves because the isle is rough and tough and leather protects you for concrete scuffs.

-The isle fashion effectively saying fuck pants because you gotta protect yourself

-Evie never ever giving up her title as princess and in formal events wearing crowns just as all the other princesses do

-Jane not wearing a crown but a pearl headband at the end of d1 to show her mother still has status but shes not a princess

-Lonnie legit just storming in to the dorm being like “i dont like you but heres money” but then later that night actively looking for mal with a sweet tone because the other girls wanna be her friend

-Ben being an outsider being an underlying unspoken thing throughout the series but feeling his most himself around the vks

-Ben is defo an honorary vk in the core fours eyes

-Harry refusing to wear non cropped pants and actively not giving a shit what others think of him

      ♡ your relationship would probably start with you accidentally venturing too far underground and stumbling into his home. At first, you had no clue what the hell you were doing or where you were but the second you heard the Cerberus recording, you legit fell down those wooden stairs out of fear. Legit faceplanting onto the ground before him, he was very intrigued by you once you woke him up.

      ♡ but that was how you two started. After a bit of quick remarks and subtle flirting, he decided to let you off the hook. Of course, he told his little assistant Celia all about the mysterious beauty that faceplanted into his lair, and she refused to stop teasing him (though she did agree to help him out)

      ♡ you worked at the same place that Dizzy did, only you were more trusted with hair and styling (though you let her help a couple times, just between the two of you). Celia came up with the idea to have you do her hair on multiple different occasions or style her outfit differently and she would bring Hades along as her “chaperone”

      ♡ at first, he thought the idea was complete bullshit

      ♡ until he saw you jamming out to the tune playing through your headphones as you swept up loose hair off of the floors and instantly knew he would take any excuse just to be near you

      ♡ the first couple of visits were a bit awkward as you weren’t quite sure why the daughter of the VooDoo man would need a chaperone... but as time went on and they kept coming back (much to both of their glee, as Hades loved seeing you and Celia loved your work), you began to realize that Hades wasn’t just coming for Celia...

      ♡ by now they were both members on your frequent visitor cards

      ♡ so, naturally, you and Hades began talking and having witty banter while you worked on Celia which eventually turned into flirting. Hades became notably happier, and that made the people on the streets even more scared because they thought he was planning something bad

      ♡ why else would he be smiling at nothing like a fricking idiot?

      ♡ umm maybe because of you?

      ♡ every time he was around you, his heart instantly raced and his face got warm and these annoying butterflies started fluttering around in his stomach that made him want to puke. Little did he know, you were starting to feel the same way too. Finally, Celia had had enough of watching you two painfully steal glances at one another from across the room and weren’t sucking face already, so she decided to do something about it.

      ♡ the second that the two of them stepped out from your workplace, Hades practically had hearts in his eyes as they headed back underground.

      ♡ “Gods, I didn’t know that women on the Isle could be so damn perfect.”

      ♡ “Maybe if you left the lair more,” Celia had mumbled under her breath in frustration. “You need to ask her out

      ♡ now, you would think that the flashy, sarcastic, sexy, soul-stealer that was Hades wouldn’t be the slightest bit nervous about asking you out, right?

      ♡ WRONG

      ♡ you were completely different than any other goddess or woman he had ever gone out with or even fallen for. You weren’t narcissistic and fucking crazy like Maleficent, you weren’t so innocent it was infuriating like Persephone, no, you were... Y/n. And you were perfect. Perfect for him. So perfect that it petrified him to fall for you out of fear that he would somehow screw it up.

      ♡ but Celia, just wanting to get this over with since he was her boss/friend and she didn’t want to have to deal with him moping his way around the lair, didn’t let that stop him. 

      ♡ so, he asked you out (lowkey, Celia having to drag him all the way to where you were) and of course you said yes. Your enthusiasm added a lot of courage back onto his shoulders, and a bit onto his ego 

      ♡ really, you were just psyched because the guy you liked asked you out

      ♡ needless to say, the date went amazing. It was pretty simple since it was just the first one, where the two of you took a super long walk around the abandoned places of the Isle, talking the entire night away. You talked about everything from backstories to hopes for the future to evil plans until by dawn, you knew each other like the back of your hands.

      ♡ and things only got better from there

      ♡ obviously, he wanted to see you again and so did you so you went on more dates, and as those dates got more romantic and intimate, so did you two. You had your first kiss in the rain, and you started spending a lot of time with him and Celia in his lair.

      ♡ after about a month or two of dating, he practically had to force you to move in with him since you had been living off of the streets, claiming that you “had it under control”, but really, you didn’t. Moving in with him was probably the best decision you’ve made since agreeing to be his girlfriend because you got to cuddle whenever you wanted

      ♡ this man may not seem like it, but he is a huge cuddler

      ♡ any physical contact for that matter, honestly

      ♡ he’s been fucked over so many times and has tried to have a tough skin through it all, but he legit would melt the second you laid a finger on him.

      ♡ he would ALWAYS compliment you, like almost every sentence that came out of his mouth consisted of at least one compliment.

      ♡ so you did your best to do the same, and it wasn’t that hard because he wasn’t that hard on the eyes either

      ♡ PLENTY OF DUETS he would beg you until you agreed to sing with him, and the songs always varied but it was always perfect because of how adorable he was when he really got into it, especially with the tambourine.

      ♡ the day that he told you about Mal was a difficult day 

      ♡ you didn’t want to admit it, but you were practically fuming with jealousy because he had a child with Maleficent and not... well, you. He could read you like an open book though, and he was a huge tease so of course he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tease you

      ♡ “Me? Jealous? Ha! You’re crazy.”

      ♡ “Mmm I think you are.”

      ♡ you being obsessed with his ember and wanting to know how it works (also finding it insanely sexy when you’re on the mainland and his hair lights on fire when he holds it). Him loving how adorable you look when you’re passionate to learn about something

      ♡ never running out of things to talk about or do, because you had a knack for getting yourself into trouble so the two of you would go on these awesome adventures to save your ass. Like the time you stole a possessed puppet that tried to gauge your eyes out with scissors (that ended with Hades holding you in his arms as he stood on top of a table, the two of you watching with wide eyes at the stupid thing hacked away at a pillow), or the time when you accidentally got involved with some crazy drug dealers and had to escape from a pretty nasty experiment. 

      ♡ needless to say, your relationship with Hades on the Isle was one of excitement, passion, and adventure. Through thick and through thin, the two of you stuck together and yes, eventually he did propose. Once Mal and Ben took down the barrier, you and Hades began living together in Auradon, got married, had a couple kids, and lived happily ever after ♡

      ♡ so, for this instance, let’s say that you were Anastasia’s long lost sister (in case you haven’t seen Anastasia, WATCH IT and if you want to be someone else, that is totally fine) and you were very close friends with Mal and Evie and the VKs because you worked on the staff at Auradon Prep as a guidance counselor for those who were feeling a bit, well, lost. 

      ♡ you had the closest relationship with Mal, because she loved your attitude and your style and of course, you didn't judge her. She looked up to you and thought of you as the mother that she never really got to have 

      ♡ so of course, the second that he showed up on the mainland, Mal knew that you were the first one she wanted him to meet (after he met Ben, lol) 

      ♡ if you’ve ever seen Hotel Transylvania, you know the zing where the eyes get all pink and it’s true love at first sight? Well, that’s a total understatement. The second you two saw each other, it was like time froze and it was nothing but you two. The dumbstruck looks on your guys’s faces was enough for Mal to notice the chemistry and send a smirk in Ben’s direction, which he returned with confusion

      ♡ after that first meeting, Hades was stuck in your head. Every time you would pass by him in the halls since he started living in the castle with Mal and Ben, you would feel your heart flutter. He would always watch you as you passed by one another, even looking over his shoulder as he continued walking in the other direction. You rarely spoke to each other, barely even knew one another, but no one could deny that something was there

      ♡ thanks to Mal, the entire courtyard and even the statues began shipping the two of you together. Mal was the leader of that fanclub, overjoyed with the mere idea that her two favorite adults in the entire world could possibly become her new step-mom and dad 

      ♡ so what did she and the rest of the shippers do?

      ♡ they planned setups

      ♡ it all started with Evie, Jane, Lonnie, and Mal planning a devious scheme in which they called for you and Hades (neither of you knew the other was coming) to Mal’s bedroom, saying that she was having a meltdown. Of course, the second the two of you got there to see Mal with tears glistening on her cheeks, you both were so flustered about being within a 10 mile radius of each other that you completely forgot she was in the room too

      ♡ unfortunately, these little schemes did nothing but increase the growing crushes you had on each other. Mal would often take Hades with her on walks around the campus, always “stopping by” to say hi to you wherever you were, which always made you quite flustered and him fall a bit more in love with you just watching you do your own thing (you were usually nose deep in a good book)

      ♡ until one day, yes, one day, the VKs planned the most devious, malicious, horrific, horrible plan that shouldn’t have worked as well as it did

      ♡ yes

      ♡ they locked you in a closet together

      ♡ don’t ask me how they did it, all you need to know is that they locked you in the closet and cast a spell on the door to prevent either of you from leaving until they took it down, not even Hades ember could break through it. So, as the two of you sat there in a heavy silence with the shippers on the other side of the closet obviously having nothing better to do than wait for their ship to sail, time passed with just the two of you stealing glances at one another until you finally started to talk. And that talking turned into more talking, which led into a full on conversation, jumping from three topics at a time to subtle flirting and you bashfully looking at the floor when he called you beautiful.

      ♡ what I’m trying to get at here is that it was so stupid and simple, but forcing you two to stay in a confined space, alone together, actually worked because it was what finally forced you two to start talking and stop making heart eyes

      ♡ okay but you still did that too

      ♡ anyways, after that, you and the soul-stealer actually became really good friends. He would always hang out in your office, always putting his feet up on his desk as you worked away on your computer or filled out paperwork while he talked about everything and nothing at the same time. 

      ♡ he often brought his guitar and tambourine along so he could serenade you while you hacked away at your work

      ♡ little did you know, all the love songs he sang in cheesy voices were actually aimed at you

      ♡ there were also times where he would stick around while you consulted with other students (with their submission of course) and they could never keep a straight face whenever you and Hades would start bickering like a married couple about how best to go about solving an issue and it would end with him grinning at you with lovey eyes saying things like, “You’re so cute when you’re mad.”

      ♡ Hades was sort of like your new dog

      ♡ you had to take him on walks, feed him constantly, and he always had to be by your side no matter where you went. Not that you minded his company, and as time went on, the two of you fell for each other more and more. Getting to know each other as friends first really helped your comedic and insanely loyal relationship bud until that day when Mal finally convinced him to ask you out

      ♡ he did it right while you were in the middle of a consult, he came barging in through the door and was just like, “Will you go out with me? I’m not taking no for an answer, just an FYI”

      ♡ and you just sat there, a flustered mess while your client giggled to herself until you finally said yes and he left with a huge dopey grin on his face that made Doug jealous

      ♡ obviously the first date went so well you guys decided to go on more, and more, and more until you two became the new power couple of the yard. Everyone called it, saying they knew you would get together in the end. You moved in with him in the castle, and of course, Mal got the mother figure she always wanted to have. You were dating about two years before you got married, and it was the happiest day of your life. You did have kids, and you could never have been happier because you got to marry your best friend

Okay so since this scene isn’t in my canon I’m gonna rant about it for a bit. And I’m going to specify a bit further and say this is when they were sifting through applications that they get in one.

1. The application thing is utter bullshit. Your favorite original VK? Uh what? That is literally a way to not include people like Maddy, the Gaston Twins, ANY of the Pirates. Like the application itself is flawed. Not to mention the number of kids after TWO YEARS only being 4 is RIDICULOUS! Like how much do the original 4 have to prove to these damn Auradonians. And like the fact that it was going to be 10 and then the bargained number was 4 with Ben lowballing Mal. Sorry but no. Additionally WHY THE FUCK DOES DIZZY EVEN APPLY! She was already fucking invited by Ben. And the VK guide book does not give me a good answer ( granted that book is a load of crock anyways ). Like the whole fucking thing is flawed.

2. The kids who the pick, I get picking younger kids. But like the Smee twins were literally created for this movie. Their are tons of other canon siblings in the books THAT ARE MENTIONED that could be brought over. the Smee twins have an older brother Sammy, Harriet is the older sister of Harry and CJ who the books mention is already in Auradon with Freddie ( Celia’s older sister ). So like why not those two? The Smee twins added nothing to the plot. They had no lines, they had little to no screen time, and they didn’t really connect with any of the kids even the two out of the Core 4 who chose them, sorry but that deleted scene is so awkward because sorry to the two little boy actors but they add nothing to the scene. They are just so pointless. Like Celia obviously helped with the plot, Dizzy was picked cause of D2, but the boys were a throw away. Carlos has at least 5 connections to canon characters such as Diego ( his cousin ), Reza ( his competition ), Lefou Deux ( his lab partner ), and Harry and Jace Badun ( his friends by force cause of their parents - also i don’t buy the bullshit in the book where Carlos hears that they joined an Anti Hero club ass whole was there to see it with his own two eyes ). Like Carlos is not gonna pick one of the Smee twins sorry, especially with those applications, or without them he’s gonna pick someone he knows. Or even Anthony bad blood aside why separate him and his baby cousin?

3. Why not pick Gil or Harry sure they threatened the king but like Uma at the end of D2 was not a threat she swam away. Doesn’t matter what she was planning no one in Auradon knows that. But also what is wrong with Harry and Gil, Harry’s younger sister is already in Auradon, having tied up Ben, if we go by wicked world, and Gil has a legit connection to Ben because their parents are enemies. The only characters we see interact who have enemy parents are Evie and Doug, and Mal and Audrey, why deny Ben and his family development that could come from bringing Gil over.

4. Ben picked the first four kids because their parents were the most evil, and he had dreams about mal ( talk about kinda creepy ). WHY WAS THAT PROCESS NOT USED AGAIN? The next baddest villains, sounds like a solid plan. Or just draw villains out of a hat. If you are going to only let four over which is a load of bullshit considering its been two fucking years, then pick villains at random and invite their kids over. We might actually get kids with some personality rather than Silent and Silenter ( yes this is a movie reference ).

1. What are your top 10 manga/anime ships of all time?

Hey, I’m going to go with less than 10. Cause I could techically find 10 ships that I like but I want to list only the ones that I currently really love (aka the OTPs). And that is actually a lot less than 10.

Hak/Yona (Akatsuki no Yona) I’ve been obsessing over them for a while now. Like, so much that it’s actually a bit embarrassing lol. But I don’t care. XD Kusanagi is a genius and bless her.

Victor/Yuuri (Yuri!!! on Ice) My newest one, I watched the anime literally a week ago. This ship is so.damn.good. It very quickly became part of my top favourites. Considering that we are talking about a 12 episodes only anime, it’s very surprising lol. This is also my only same-sex OTP which actually tells you a lot. I do like BL but usually the relationships are not portrayed healthily. Well, Victuuri is the exception.

Ren/Kyoko (Skip Beat!) I mean, we are not really getting new content for them but I still love it a lot. I will probably be 90 years old and on my deathbed by the time they get together though.

Kaname/Yuuki (Vampire Knight) My oldest ship, it was my number one throughout my teens. I still love them a lot although admittedly not as much as I did before. That’s partly the fault of the writing of the manga.

2. What gif or screenshot most sums up your ship? Well, I added gifs to all of them so there you go lol.

3. Describe your favorite ship in seven words or less.  Hakyona: innocent, respectful, teasing, best friends Victuuri: harmonious, pure, respectful, eros and agape Kyoren: destined, slowburn, hate to love, pining Yume: dark, passionate, complicated, eternal

4. What’s your go-to episode or scene when you need ship feels? Hakyona: The entire manga??? Well, jokes aside, I guess it’s a bit hard to choose because I love all of their scenes. Chapter 110 where Yona gives Hak the pendant and fully realizes she is in love, chapter 137 aka The Kiss™ and chapter 152 aka The Confession™ are definitely high up on the list. Victuuri: The kiss in episode 7. And then of course the entire fucking episode 10 is a blessing. And also, the pair skating at the very end of episode 12 legit made me cry. It was beautiful. Kyoren: The Heel Siblings Arc. Period. It’s shippers dream come true, quite literally. I think that was actually the best arc of the entire manga. Yume: Chapter 49!!!! Probably my all time favourite chapter in the entire manga, I love it so much. I also completely adore Chapter 52 and the Chapter following Yuuki’s awakening. Where she pushes him to bed and sucks him dry. (sadly not like that though ;))

5. What song or songs remind you of your favorite fandom, character or ship? Hakyona: Theory of a Deadman - Angel Victuuri: Once Upon a December (Russian ver.) It’s all your fault @aphrodytevalentine lol Kyoren: Imagine Dragons - Demons Yume: Tom McRae- My Vampire Heart

6. What ship are you embarrassed to admit you like? Out of the ones I listed, none.

7. Do you prefer to indulge in (consume or create) fanart or fanfic of your favorite ship? Well I do spend an unreasonable amount of time on Tumblr, so I like everything pretty much. I love looking at pretty fanarts and edits. I also love reading fanfics, my favourites are always canon compliant and have lots of fluff and smut lol.

8. Smut or fluff?  THE TWO COMBINED.

9. What task are you most likely to procrastinate so you can indulge in your ship or fandom? Well, I’m the world’s biggest procrastinator so I legit procrastinate everything lol.

10. How many hours of the day do you spend reading fanfic or looking at fanart or other media? Does Tumblr count? Cause then.... a lot?? Lol. Jokes aside, it depends how busy I am. I guess it’s about 1-3 hours on avarege. 

11. How many memorabilia’s do you own of your favorite fandom or ship (clothes, plushies, etc.)? Well I really like to collect anime and manga related stuff. I have fuck ton of manga volumes/artbooks/magazines/Drama CDs etc back at home. I also own quite a few official and non-official merchandise like plushies, keychains, stickers etc. I will put together a proper list once and show you guys.

12. If you could own one authentic item from your favorite fandom world, what would it be? Is this question about merchandise I want or items that characters own that I also would like to have? Well, I’m going with the first possibility. 

My favourite fandom is the akayona fandom, but currently I don’t desperately want anything that I don’t already have lol. So I’m going with Yuri on Ice, and in that case, I currently really want the Victor and Yuuri nendoroids. They are so cute, just look at them:

There are different versions with different costumes and accessories. By accessories I mean Yuuri’s glasses and phone, Makkachin, a bowl of katsudon, silver medal etc lol. They also come with different facial expressions and I’m totally dead ahaha. Don’t judge I love cute shit okay? XD

13. What is the strangest thing you’ve done to honor your favorite fandom, ship or character? I don’t really consider the things I do strange? I mean surely, I’m not the only one fangirling a bit too much lol. Well, actually, when I was 16 I coded an entire website dedicated to VK and I was running it for years. I added new content daily. It was in Hungarian, so basically for the fans in my country. I don’t consider it too strange though cause it was actually really popular. XD

14. What fandom have you found to be too toxic to deal with? VK fandom. This is not even a question, the literal worst I have ever seen.

15. Do you have or would you consider getting a tattoo depicting your favorite ship or fandom?  No. I don’t like tattoos, so this is totally out of the question. And even if I did, I still wouldn’t get a tattoo of my..... ships lol. That’s going a bit too far in my opinion, especially since a tattoo is a very permanent thing.

16. If the creators of your favorite fandom asked you to write the ship canon-confirmation episode, what will you write/how will it happen? All of my ships are pretty much already canon.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m mystified too K about some of the posts that I suppose are about contradicting my post and that always come out when this is mentioned.

I’ve never written about a girlfriend, never talked about specifics of the subject because I don’t know any, never written all the other messages about it, and I’m not the same and only person (obviously) writing about it.

I know nothing on specifics of who it might be, or if it’s even a fact, but I have observed a lot not only from J, but from the way people react not only here, and from the many posts which some seem having a legit point.

There’s different people that comment on the topic not just one person or me, I made the note about not Alices fakery fans etc because when that’s not pointed out , these people get more confused and encouraged, so I guess that whenever this is talked about it has to be made clear to avoid more confusion.

There’s people that talk about themselves the age appropriate normal woman, many of this I’ve also seen them around on sm, no offense but this is off.

There’s the others that talk about a beautiful young girl, trolls and friends copy, imo the possible option, but I’ve never written about this, others say they’re part of Facebook groups, I’m not part of any Facebook group, others that agree and say they noticed since 2014 and stuff on VyRT, not me either.

In fact I don’t know anything personally, I’ve joined after SS, but based on what I’ve seen all around and from JL’s behavior I do think he has someone, that’s all, I don’t see the point to list my observations only to be insulted by the people that seem to know but are angry and deny with jealousy, I’ve got no time to get in petty arguments, I’ve seen what I’ve seen and my suspicions are valid it’s only a question of time and success on this possible relationship I guess for truth to come out.

By logic J provably has someone special not just hook ups the guy is an artist with feelings not just a fuck machine and look at him he’s gorgeous and successful do you guys really believe he’s single just sleeping around with these low level desperado chicks? Really? I don’t believe it for a second, again imo he’s got more going on than what meets the eye and your attitude about it only proves my point.

Different to you guys I actually would like to see good things coming from JL not just hoping for failure and messes to be entertained.

And I’m very curious to see what special person has possibly capture his heart and has the people in his circle copying her, and some of you so angry and jealous, and not just to stalk her and criticize her, obviously this guy is not going to fall for the “Fakeries and the Trashlies” (imo there’s an explanation to all of this), as much as you guys seem to enjoy belittling him, he’s clearly more demanding and expecting more from life and a possible parter in the position he is and because the kind of person he is. Anyway he’s obviously more and wants more to what you guys allow, I just don’t buy JL being this one dimensional mediocre loser with no better aspirations.

I believe he’s an interesting complicated guy and so he would be into an actually interesting and complicated person. I’m not sold out on the bs, I just think he feels more at ease having his life kept in privacy, he really doesn’t have to make things public, no one has, only because fans want to know everything.

LGBT Representation and Westerners’ PC Misconception in Anime - by a bi asian girl

Before you read: the definition of canon is ‘the material accepted as officially part of the story in an individual universe of that story’.

This is gonna get really long because I have been meaning to write this essay for a very long time, and this blog gave me a chance to finally express my opinion on tumblr, a western website where anime has gained huge popularity, but is often misused and misread in the eyes of western fans. This is not a ‘cultural appropriation’ lesson, it’s just a small insight on how asian fans actually view anime, and why westerners ought to put on their cultural glasses and look at anime a bit more differently instead of shoving westernised ideas on asian media products.

Very often in anime even when you see a m/m couple even in a non-BL genre, it is STILL very intended to attract female viewers and generate profit from it. That’s the blatant truth and I don’t think I am at fault to just outright say this. Yes, Shion and Nezumi did love each other, and they are, as western fans like to call it, ‘canon’, but are they really that good for a ‘LGBT representation’ that are not ‘targeted at fujoshis’?. Take a look on their doujins on myreadingmanga. Same as Samurai Flamenco, whose couple’s legitimacy is outright denied by the creator of the series. I will not say that there are no LGBT representation in anime AT ALL, I’m am telling you that if it’s a m/m couple in a seemingly non-BL genre, it’s almost always marketed at girls OR fudanshis, who are willing to throw money on official merch and create doujins; this is an undeniable fact. Anime with lots of pretty guys and gay undertones ALWAYS do better even if the story has a shit plot because girls love it and will buy anything related to it(look at y o i).

There are 3 more ‘recent’ anime with actual LGBT characters whom I believe are not created to woo the audience, nor the anime was solely targeted at people who only like m/m ships (i.e. 80% of vk shippers, please get off your high horse, you certainly do not hold moral superiority to fujoshis or anyone else).

Sailor Moon: Before you tell me Haruka and Michiru aren’t actually ‘canon’, go take a look at this link. Sailor Moon has aired in my local TV channel in the 90s when it is still a very conservative time (it still is) and did not censor the parts that show they are lovers. On top of that Sailor Moon is targeted at a younger audience so there is no way this couple is created for fanservice. It is still an ongoing series too, and continues to inspire new generations of kids.

Mahou Shoujou Ikusei Keikaku: Sister Nana and Weiss are a confirmed couple, but much like Korrasami, their relationship is quite subtle and because they aren’t main characters, AND because MSIK is not 100% targeted at girls, this couple is often left out as legit LGBT characters as far as i can see.

DANGANRONPA: I think it’s safe to say (at least in Asia) that danganronpa has a generally equal amount of male and female viewers, so it was very surprising to me that they actually included a LGBT character, Juzo Sakakura, who is considered a main supporting character and whose sexuality is actually relevant to the plot. Again, he is often neglected because there seems to be a trend that (spoilers alert) ‘if the character gets killed off then they are no longer a good LGBT representation’.

So now you may ask: are you calling all those m/m anime ‘queer-baiting’, then?’. Yes, yes I pretty much am calling them that in English, but at the same time, I am not because THERE IS NO SUCH CONCEPT AS ‘QUEERBAITING’ IN ASIAN MEDIA. We dont have the term queer bait in our vocabulary and fans certainly do not accuse producers of queer baiting in any way shape or form. If there is gay undertone OR actual m/m ships, they are, again, often marketed at girls (fujoshis) because their series will be more successful with more supporters. On the other hand, there are rarely ANY actually confirmed, CANON LGBT characters in anime anyway, so what are they gonna bait you with? Oh right, gay undertone WHICH IS TARGETED AT FUJOSHI. Now we are just going on a cycle here aren’t we?

You cannot call Free or K or any other anime with popular m/m ships ‘queer-baiting’ (not even y o i) because 1. it is an anime targeted at fujoshis, therefore contains loads of fan service 2. it has gay undertones but no characters are actually confirmed as LGBT and no ships are EVER going to become ‘canon’ in the first place and 3. it was never intended to give any LGBT representation. By giving anime such a high standard and ignoring the cultural context on why it is created and whom it is created for, western fans are just going to be more and more disappointed as more fanservice anime disguised as ‘real lgbt rep’ and ‘serious ice skating anime’ gets released.

Please stop trying to enforce the western PC culture on Asian popular culture. It’s not a thing here and probably will not be for a very long time.

In conclusion: looking for good LGBT representation in Japanese anime, or any Asian media at all, is a bad idea because Asia is still very conservative and as I stated in previous asks, the media producers literally do not give a flying fuck about ‘lgbt media representation’ because ALMOST NO ONE IN THE GENERAL PUBLIC CARES ABOUT THAT in our current generation. We do in fact care more about promoting equal marriage rights, discrimination laws, and civil partnership domestic violence laws. Maybe things will change, and I hope things will change, but now can we all just take a moment and realise that Asia and the West is still fundamentally, culturally different and cannot be viewed and judged by the same set of standards. Yes, Y o i is targeted at fujoshis, there is NO DOUBT about that, and no, it is NOT a LGBT representation and I am very sorry and devastated for you if you thought it was, but it really isn’t. Y o i is merely a carefully packaged anime targeted to girls and it is guaranteed to do well in the west because it has ‘diversity’ and ‘canon LGBT characters’ and ‘POCs’ and even a well thought out ship name that is CONVENIENTLY English. y o i is not a revolutionary or groundbreaking anime because it is just doing what every other fujoshi-orientated anime is doing, but with more PCness and celebrity promotions.

My English is terrible and i had a long day before writing this so please try to understand what I am talking about here. Feel free to send in arguments but please do be polite and don’t be racist.

An apology

I’ve been thinking about the events that happened at CM and also with the woman who has MS. I would like to apologize to some of the people here I have called out in regards to assuming that they were jealous of Inchie, VK, H, etc. I now understand that most of these girls are coming from a place not of jealousy but from feeling disrespected. Now sure there are a small group of deranged Sheep that obsess over who SL/JL stick themselves into but I think the vast majority does not think this way. I now see and understand the anger that in turn projects to some of these “freeloaders” in SL/JL’s lives which really it is an anger with the entire situation.

With backstage access to concerts, Camp Mars, M&G, etc that is a place for the fans and to celebrate the fans. A lot of fans have put in so much money just for a night or even a weekend with Mars all to get 2 seconds with them for a photograph. With that said, in these spaces that are suppose to be for the fans, Mars invites models, celebs, “whatevers”, in these spaces for free and giving them unlimited access which these people troll it around on SM and other platforms showing their access. It is a bit disheartening for those who spend so much money for a two second access while freeloaders get much more. Times are getting hard for everyone worldwide and just purchasing music has become a luxury and this band is just not seeing it.

When I met Bey on her last tour I got VIP and and got to spend 20 mins with her just talking to me and to get to know me. There were 45 of us and she met every single one of us and spoke to us hours before the show kicked off. I didn’t realize until later that her daughter and her husband were also there but they were not in the same room with us. Why? Because she knew that the M&G was FOR THE FANS and she ensured we felt like we were getting what we paid for. I understand they had over 400+ M&G but Mars should’ve planned it better and could’ve asked for names before the pics or engage the people who are spending all of their money just to get access to them. It seemed like they do not want to get bothered by the people who are inadvertently paying their way to ensure the freeloaders get whatever they want and keep the band rich. How is it that Bey, one of the biggest stars in the world right now can ensure that fans feel appreciated and yet Mars who are still fighting to get known treat the people who have stood by them for so long so poorly?

So with this I apologize to some of you and now understand your discontent for people like VK, Inchie, etc. It isn’t out of jealousy, its just that its straight disrespectful to paying consumers. Do I think the hatred should be placed on the “freeloaders”? No. I think it should be placed on the band but I do get it, I truly now understand where the anger is coming from. Again, apologies to those who felt undercut by me for writing you off as a jealous fan girl.

Yep, some most def are jealous and hysterical fangirlies, but there have been plenty of legit complaints and criticism seen during the past week as well.

If Mars was smart, they would take note of the complaints and suggestions for future use, imo some of them have been very constructive and would benefit them greatly.

But I think we all know they won´t.
