there are many interpretations on just what the “nervous fever, which confined me for several months” that victor experienced was, but i don’t think anyone has yet put forward the idea that it was based on hypochondriasis. (in general i will refer to this source, a practical treatise of hypochondriasis written by john hill in 1766, in regard to just what hypochondriasis is–it’s a very interesting read and i would recommend it!)
hypochondriasis (which now carries a different meaning–i am not referring to hypochondria i.e. abnormal anxiety/fear about one’s health) was a non-specific condition that encompassed many varieties of the “nervous illnesses” of the 18th century. the concept was derived from theories of bodily humors and was once considered a special form of melancholy resulting from an excess of black bile, or alternatively that it was an obstruction in the body caused by high emotion, among many other explanations–but in hypochondriasis, and in the 17-18th century in general, the idea that the health of the mind and the body were inherently linked was HUGE. while it’s not readily definable it was generally seen as the masculine equivalent to hysteria in females, which is thematically important in ways i’ll get into later.
in short, hypochondriasis:
is caused by grief and/or “fatigue of the mind” i.e. intense, prolonged study or focus on one thing, particularly night studies
those who are educated, studious, isolated, sedate and inactive (not among nature), are more susceptible
typically begins and reoccurs in autumn months
results in self-isolation, depression, a “disrelish of amusements,” wild thoughts or overthinking on one subject, and a sense of oppression in the body
physically, it causes low appetite, heart palpitations, dizziness, confusion, night sweats, emaciation, convulsions, etc
fits of high emotion, excessive exercise, and shock can cause relapses, even months or years after the first event
is said to be cured by mild medicine, but no chemistry; but above all, it is cured by the study of nature, and hypochondriac people should get frequent air and exercise
the parallels to victor are rather blatant. the study of natural philosophy becomes victor’s “sole occupation,” and he describes being “animated by an almost supernatural enthusiasm.” in the treatise, those subject to the disease are said to be those who have “greatly exerted [the mind’s] powers” and have ”determined resolution…intent upon their object [of attention]”. It’s also noted that “whatever tends to the ennobling of the soul has equal share in bringing on this weakness of the body.”
it is this focus on creating new life, and later, this self-isolation, that results in his “cheek becom[ing] pale with study,” and his “person had become emaciated with confinement” and he “seemed to have lost all soul or sensation but for this one pursuit.” it is to the extent that his eyes become “insensible to the charms of nature” and he neglects correspondence with his friends and family. he becomes “oppressed by a slow fever…and nervous to a most painful degree” and, like those with hypochondriasis, believes that “exercise and amusement would then drive away incipient disease.”
it’s also notable that the height of victor’s illness–directly after the creature’s creation–occurs, like in hypochondriasis, in autumn. during it, he describes many of the physical symptoms attributed to hypochondriasis: weakness, heart palpitations, dizziness, wild thoughts and paranoia, convulsions, etc. it’s only after henry’s care that he is able to recover, and in particular, after viewing a scene of nature:
I remember the first time I became capable of observing outward objects with any kind of pleasure, I perceived that the fallen leaves had disappeared, and that the young buds were shooting forth from the trees that shaded my window. It was a divine spring; and the season contributed greatly to my convalescence. I felt also sentiments of joy and affection revive in my bosom; my gloom disappeared, and in a short time I became as cheerful as before I was attacked by the fatal passion.
throughout the novel, these symptoms will reoccur (relapse) in times of high emotion, shock and stress–justine’s trial, the confrontation at the alps, during the creation of the female creature, etc. overall he meets the marks of hypochondriasis nearly down to a T.
and, returning to the idea that hypochondriasis is essentially the male equivalent of hysteria, which was only attributed to females at the time, this is relevant because frankenstein is a female narrative synthesized through a male narrator. by extension victor also meets many of the marks of hysteria. in general, the creature’s creation feminizes victor: victor remarks that he becomes “as timid as a love-sick girl” during his illness and describes his fever as “painfully nervous” and alternating between “tremor” and “passionate ardour.” during and after the creation process, victor exhibits what was then perceived as “feminine” emotional freedom–anxiety, weakness, self-doubt, fear, etcetera. considering this in-context that 1) victor’s labors allude to mary shelley’s own traumatic experiences with childbirth 2) this was written in a turning point in history where high-class men who had "nervous" senses/feelings were beginning to be seen as effete instead of stylish (they used to be thought fashionable because they were more in-touch with their senses than the lower classes or something to that effect), this all seems very intentional.
now, what do i think victor actually had (since humorism has, obviously, since been disproved)? a 2-for-1 psychotic disorder + whatever concoction of germs he acquired from sticking his hands in corpses for weeks on end combo. but that’s for another day!

TFP: Universal Observations
AND THUS WE RETURN! you are not ready for this reaction, i wasn't. kind of, this premise has been on my mind for a while.
i'll be adding in the word count now! 4.1k words!
time for the revelations of the very vague polls! or at least one of them!
Optimus and Megatron Working Together (Wholesome) is... Actor Au.
WARNING! LONG POST!
ACT 1: Show Acting - I -
[ ----- TP : UO ----- ]
[ ENTER KEYWORD TO START UNIVERSAL OBSERVATION ]
Omega Outpost One
"Key word?" Ratchet hears Rafael murmur as he and the humans gathered together by Optimus' side.
The Prime still looked downcast, the look of horror on the mech's faceplate was something Ratchet never wanted to see ever again. He'd seen it before of course, each time was just as terrible as the last but there was just something even worse, knowing why Optimus had looked so horrified in the first place.
It wasn't everyday that you watched another version of yourself perform a horrible act that had taken a friend from you. That Optimus Prime, Evil Optimus Prime, was no Prime that Ratchet would ever have followed and Optimus needed to get it in his helm that despite looking similar to the mech on the screen aside from the obvious differentials, Optimus himself would never enforce Empurata on anybot. Not even the Decepticons.
Then again, Ratchet could sympathize with Optimus' feelings on the matter. Although his own counterpart hadn't exactly done anything on screen aside from attacking Other Knock Out, the implications of his words and actions alone… It disturbed him to no end.
The knowledge that in another world, an alternate version of oneself could be so different from you… It's a lot to take in.
Another thing that was a lot to take in, was the existence and the function of the sphere.
As far as Ratchet has come to realize and gather from what's obviously been shown, the sphere was nothing more than an observation device. A very powerful one, capable of showing alternate worlds and cataloging them for repeated use.
If the sphere fell on Decepticon servos, Ratchet feared just what the Decepticons would see and how it would work in their favor. So despite its mysterious appearance, it was a blessing to have it show up in their base, but Ratchet still needed to know just where it came from and how it got into their storage without any of them knowing.
It couldn't have been the humans, Fowler already had a catalogue of their Cybertronian tech and items since he was their liaison. The children obviously couldn't have been the culprit, seeing as they had no idea what it was…
But they were connected to it now. They were in control of the sphere, not completely though.
"Okay so, remember how Miko said something about shatter and glass? That's what triggered the whole thing in the first place! So we just um, need to say words and see if it triggers something else?" Rafael exclaimed with shaky confidence, unsure about his own suggestion but it was solid in theory.
"Uh, Monkey? Apocalypse? Music!" Miko shouted, trying Raf's idea.
.: Cybertron. Iacon? Racing! :. Bumblebee bleeped in offering as well.
"Uh… if that's the case, then it would have already taken in anything that we were saying by now." Jack said with a frown, watching the younger boy give a look of thought.
"Honestly, I don't know if we should keep messing with it." Arcee admitted, looking at the sphere with obvious distrust and lingering unease. "Sure, the only function we've seen so far is what, looking into alternate worlds where the Decepticons are good while we're…" She couldn't finish, glancing at the still silent Optimus who grimaced at the reminder. "We should probably just- put it back into storage."
"Aww, c'mon Arcee!" Miko exclaimed, hands on her hips. "Sure, the first world we saw wasn't- wasn't that good but like- this is an opportunity to see alternate worlds! Who doesn't want to see stuff like that?!"
"I'm actually with Miko a bit here Arcee, this is- it's pretty cool. The world it showed us wasn't that peachy but like. Wasn't it really weird to see the cons acting like the good guys?" Jack laughed a bit awkwardly, and he had a point. It had been really strange to see the Decepticons act like—
[ KEY WORDS ; SHOW ACTING ]
They all glanced over to the screen in shock as it accepted two random words from what Jack had been saying. "Just what is with its intuitive parameters?!" Ratchet growled out, unable to make sense as to how exactly the sphere was parsing through speech to gain the 'key words'- Bumblebee and Miko had been suggesting things off the bat but it was Jack that triggered its function this time?!
("It seems the Autobots have finally chosen something." Starscream muttered in disdain, eyeing the key words and wondering just what was going to be shown this time. Megatron said nothing, his optics narrowed and frame tense.)
[ The screen flared before catchy music played, the words 'TERRAN-TRON LIVE' plastering itself over the screen and then disappearing. A large femme was sitting on a couch with a human woman sitting beside them on a platform built onto the couch. "Good evening everyone! Welcome back to Terran-Tron Live! Your late night show interviewing celebrity guests and more. I'm Polly." The human exclaimed, wearing a suit and waving at the camera.
The femme smiled with her, waving as well. "And I'm Caster, and we're here tonight with some very special guests!" ]
All optics and eyes blinked at the sudden showing of two people, a Cybertronian femme and a human woman, that they knew nothing about. "What in the…" Bulkhead trailed off, confused as to why they were watching what seemed to be a late night talk show.
"A human and a Cybertronian? On television? Live?" Ratchet muttered, the implications of that was... Pretty positive, actually.
Optimus, though still a bit downtrodden, couldn't help but perk slightly and look at the screen with intrigued optics.
Miko was practically jumping in place with excitement, "Oh! Since this is a talk show with both Cybertronians and humans then humanity must like, know about you guys now! You're famous heroes!"
.: I guess? I don't think I'd like to be on tv though. :. Bumblebee said nervously, a bit self-conscious over his voice box. Millions of people, humans and maybe Cybertronians listening to him beeping? Half the audience wouldn't know what he was saying! He huffed when Raf patted his helm in comfort, the little human giving him reassurances that he appreciated.
("What exactly is this?" Megatron deadpanned, unimpressed by the showing so far. 'Terran-Tron Live', a cybertronian and a human working together like this? Reminds him far too much of the Autobots, not to mention the fact they were working with humans of all species…)
[ "Humans and Cybertronians, give it up for- the cast of Transformers: Prime!" Polly exclaimed, gesturing to somewhere and the screen changes to show four bots on a large couch. Two mechs and two femmes, on another platform close to the couch, there were three humans sitting on a smaller couch like Polly. All of them waved at the camera and audience, smiling. ]
Jaws were dropped at the sight of Optimus, Megatron, Arcee and Arachnid sitting on one gigantic, Cybertronian-sized couch while nearby, Jack, Miko and Raf sat on a smaller couch on screen.
( "WHAT?!" )
Optimus' backstruts straightened at the sight of him and Megatron on screen, sitting close together in such an amicable setting- things were obviously different though. For one, Other Optimus looked more like Orion Pax instead of Optimus Prime. His frame was more civilian-like, but a bit bulkier than the data clerk had been and his colors were red and violet with silver instead of his own colors. Other Optimus was sitting back against the couch with his legs spread slightly, arm hanging on the back of the couch and had an amused smirk on his faceplate. He seemed so young compared to Optimus.
Other Megatron was so much more different, gone were the spikes that were the kibble for the warlord. Instead, standard kibble with a shinier silver plating. Gone were the scars and scuffs that Megatron wore with ease, and his optics weren't red nor were they blue. They were a honey-like gold instead, pairing well with the polite smile on the mech's derma. He too, seemed so much younger than he or even Megatron, his frame less bulky as well- not warforged, that much was obvious but still slightly bigger than Other Optimus.
Other Arcee looked the most similar, but the sharp edges of her frame and armor were softened and instead of a mostly blue finish, there were sections of magenta and pink that decorated her plating.
Other Arachnid didn't look nearly as menacing as the Aracnhid they knew of, but nor did she look as gentle as the 'Shattered Glass' Arachnid they just saw. Her edges were softer, her extra legs were nowhere to be seen and the sheer fact she was just sitting there besides Arcee? Absolutely mindboggling.
The children looked quite different as well! Jack's hair was a bit longer, and he was dressed in a more formal suit. Raf's usually untamable locks were brushed down, also in a formal suit, and Miko— they had all gotten so used to the girl's wildness, to Miko's signature pink-coloring on her head that seeing her hair curled and completely black actually made most of them do a double-take. Especially since Other Miko was dressed in a dress-suit combo in soft colors.
[ "Go on guys, introduce yourselves to the lovely audience!" Caster encouraged, and the camera's changed focus accordingly.
"Hey there everyone, I'm Orion Nox, I play Optimus Prime, Leader of the Autobots in Transformers: Prime." Orion said with a salute and a grin aimed at the camera.
"Hello, I am Dion, I play Lord Megatron, Leader of the Decepticons in Transformers: Prime." Dion greeted with a smiling nod.
"Hi there, I'm Cycla, I play Arcee, warrior-scout of the Autobots." Cycla winked at the camera with her arms crossed as she leaned back against the couch.
"I am Venami, I play Arachnid, spider-bot Decepticon defector at your service." Venami said with a slight nod, chuckling when Dion playfully called out 'Traitor!' to her.
"Hi! I'm Rumi Atsuhashi, I play Miko Nakadai, Bulkhead's human charge." Rumi said, waving excitedly at the camera.
"Antonio Garcias, I play Rafael Esquivel, Bumblebee's human charge!" Antonio chirped , seeming to be just as, if not MORE excited than Rumi.
"I'm Jackson Darby, I play Jack Darby, Arcee's human charge. Yes that's my real name, no I didn't get it changed at any point of my life. I have always been, Jackson Darby. The only difference between me and Jack Darby is that I prefer to go by Jackson instead of Jack." Jackson said with a crooked smile, exasperated but amused, laughter was heard from his cast members, the hosts and and the audience.
With each introduction, there was a brief clip from the show that showed them acting in Transformers: Prime as their respective characters. ]
"OUR LIFE IS A TV SHOW?!" Miko screamed loud and clear, eyes bugged out of her head as she saw herself- or well, her actor?? On screen? "OH MY GOD!"
"I-I need to sit down." Arcee said, feeling more than a bit nauseous- not by the whole 'in another world our life is a tv show' thing though it was part of it, but by the sight of her and Arachnid- doppelganger actors be damned - just… sitting there. On the couch, not trying to maul each other to death.
Even weirder; Optimus and Megatron were sitting on the same couch, looking much younger and different, very different in Megatron's case. Or, Dion? What the frag even is this world.
The fact there were clips, clips of moments that had happened that showed besides each one…
( Arachnid had no words, she simply left. Or tried to, but Soundwave wouldn't let her leave. All the other Decepticons, even Megatron, were trying to process what they were seeing. However, the warlord did give Arachnid a glare, remembering how her counterpart introduced herself. She grimaced, but said nothing. )
[ "Unfortunately we could only invite a few cast members here, some had conflicting schedules or other things to do and we only had a limited amount of room on set. Even with mass displacement, we'd get a crowd here going." Caster explained to the audience and onlookers, she turned to look at the actors. "Thank you once again for joining us here, it's a pleasure to meet you and an honor to have you guys on the show!"
"Thank you for having us Caster, it's a pleasure to be here." Dion replied with a respectful nod.
"I've always wanted to be on a late night talk show- especially Terran-Tron Live! You guys are the best human-cybertronian night show hosts out there!" Antonio gushed, practically bouncing in place.
Polly laughed, winking at Antonio, "The very first in fact, well, not really me but my ma. Bless her soul. She established the show almost forty years ago after the Cybertronian and Earth alliance. My ma wanted to host a show with a cybertronian the moment it was possible."
"And here I enter the scene." Caster preened, servos framing her faceplate before she waved her servo. "But enough about that, let's talk about you! And YOUR show- Transformers: Prime!"
A picture was shown on a floating screen, of Optimus and Megatron posed for battle with several other bots in the background. Transformers: Prime was in blocky text above. "It's you!"
"It's us." Both Orion and Dion chorused with amusement, glancing at each other. "Look, you can even see Cycla and Venami in the background." Orion called out, pointing to where Arcee and Arachnid were in the picture.
Cycla laughed and pointed as well, "And if you squint really hard, you can even see the kids hiding behind that boulder in the corner." The picture zooms in to see Raf, Miko and Jack hiding behind a boulder with Jack holding Miko back from leaving the boulder.
Antonio giggled wildly while Rumi and Jackson grinned. ]
Despite the boggling situation, a few of the team and even the humans couldn't help but snort at the sight of the bit with the humans- it was so like Miko to try and leave the boulder, and of course Jack was holding her back.
Optimus in the meanwhile, couldn't get his optics off of Megatron and himself on the screen. Or rather, Orion and Dion. They looked so at ease with each other, sitting side-by-side with no care in the world aside from being interviewed.
Seeing the Other Megatron had been surreal enough, that mech reminded him too much of the old Megatronus that Optimus still secretly craved to see once more. But this? This made his spark ache as it reminded him of the good times Orion Pax and Megatronus had together as close friends. Yes their frames were different, their names and even their mannerisms but the fact they 'played' Optimus and Megatron and looked incredibly liked them…
Not every world has us as enemies, old friend. Optimus thinks to himself in private, feeling incredibly emotional for reasons he cannot, would not, explain. A sense of aching relief yet bitter longing and resignation settled in his frame that he kept to himself. Struggled to keep from showing on his faceplate.
No one but Ratchet would be able to spot it, and luckily for the Prime, his medic was preoccupied with gawking at the screen.
( On a warship miles away, a warlord is assaulted with unwanted memories at the sight of Orion Nox. His thought process similar yet different, tinged with anger and contempt that hid the nostalgia and other emotions that he deemed unimportant and frivolous. )
[ "Question for the bots here- we've got two of the most infamous rivals in the show sitting right here. And both pairs have had histories in working together, tell me, is there an actual rivalry here in real life, like in the show?" Polly asked, peering at the Cybertronians sitting on the gigantic couch.
Orion laughed, "Not really, at least for Dion and I- we've worked together before in other projects and sure we've been casted as rivals as some but honestly we're pretty chill." He glanced over to Cycla and Venami, "Now Cycla and Venami on the other hand—"
Cycla reached over Dion to smack Orion's knee, only to gasp in betrayal when Dion spoke up with an amused expression. "Oh there's definitely a rivalry going on between them. Not as bad as in the show but, they've been competing against each other for roles in other projects. I distinctly recall Venami being quite peeved when Cycla was chosen instead of her for one project."
"Dion!" Venami exclaimed with annoyance, glaring at the silver mech who burst out laughing alongside Orion. ]
Was it incredibly petty to feel pleased that another version of herself, even as a bizarre actor in a bizarre world, managed to one-up the alternate version of the Con that killed one of her old partners? Probably, yet it didn't stop Arcee at all from feeling just the tiniest bit smug. She couldn't help it.
Just like how Optimus couldn't help but feel warm at how close Orion Nox was with Dion, and at the fact they've worked together before. Or at the fact, while still rivals, 'Cycla' and 'Venami' weren't fighting each other as Autobot and Decepticon. It seemed like neither faction existed aside from within the show.
( A spider bot while not really impressed, couldn't help but be annoyed at her counterpart's failure of gaining whatever role it was that the other femme managed to get. A warlord stews in unsettling silence. )
[ "Question for the kids! How's it feel to work alongside your Cybertronian co-actors? Must be pretty exciting huh? Are you as close to them as you are in the show?" Caster asked, leaning forward to address the small beings who beamed at her and the camera.
"It's been great!" Antonio gushed, "They've been so kind to Jackson, Rumi and I and the other humans on set too! They're really careful in making sure we're okay."
Rumi nodded in agreement, smiling happily, "I'll admit, I was nervous at first since this is the first time I've um, I've worked with Cybertronians who are really, really big most of the time but it's been fun! I'd like to say we're as close to the bots on set as we are in the show?" She gave the metal giants a shy smile and they all grinned back at her with affirming nods.
"Not just the 'Autobots' either, the 'Decepticons' are pretty great too." Jackson laughed, "My favorite Con is Pulsebeat, aka Soundwave in the show- they and their cassette Glider, aka Laserbeak, like to pick us up and hoard us sometimes because I think we remind them of minicons and cassettes. It's really funny."
Dion laughed, "And here I thought I was your favorite Con Jackson!" He said playfully while pressing a servo against his chestplate in faux offense.
Jackson looked back at him, "You thought wrong! I mean- just look at them!" Jackson gestured to the screen as it suddenly showed Soundwave, or Pulsebeat? Without their visor on, grinning widely as they cradled a laughing Jackson, a giggling Rumi in his servos while Antonio beaming as he hung upside down from a cable claw. Their bird-cassette was perched atop Pulsebeat's helm. Another picture showed Pulsebeat mass displaced, but still big enough to carry all three children on his frame while they all sat on Glider who was in the air. ]
.: I don't think I will ever get used to 'nice' cons. :. Bee beeped, both somewhat awed yet perturbed at the sight of the relaxed and joking 'Megatron' and the pictures of 'Soundwave' playing with the human kids. Not to mention the sight of Soundwave's face- or rather, Pulsebeat? It looked extremely similar to the 'Shattered Glass' faceplate that Soundwave had but at least… at least this time, it was happy and not… The yellow muscle car bot shuddered, shaking his helm and focusing back on the screen.
"You and me both, Bee." Bulkhead muttered in agreement, optics squinting. "And I don't think I'll get used to shy Miko." He added in with some mirth, it was bizarre to see the girl smiling shyly at the bots (two of which were Cons but they kind of weren't because they were actors??) and not being as energetic as his charge.
"I know right?! Still, she must have some Wrecker in her to play me!" Miko exclaimed, looking up at Rumi with determined and curious eyes.
Raf looked over to Jack, still on Bee's shoulder. "Soundwave? Really?" There wasn't any judgement, just genuine curiosity.
Jack still felt the need to throw his hands into the air, "Don't ask me! Apparently other me likes Soundwave! Pulsebeat? This is just- too weird." Not to mention the casual banter that other Megatron, or uh, Dion? Had with Jackson. Jackson who was him, who still had his name but went by Jackson instead of Jack.
How come Raf and Miko had other names while Jack was still just, Jackson Darby? Unbelievable.
( An ex-gladiator and now communications officer stayed silent, as always, but there was a relaxed air around him now. The warlord notices, does not comment, just stares at the screen with growing displeasure. )
[ "Question for everyone! Was the season one finale surprising to find out, film, just- anything? I understand that Transformers: Prime was an original scripted show without being based on anything aside from the old Autobot-Decepticon civil war on Cybertron eons ago but fictitiously set on Earth." Polly questioned, leaning in with interest as the bots and humans glanced at each other.
"Oh definitely! The show's original writer, Rung, a great guy, surprised us halfway through the season's filming to reveal to us all dramatically of what the season's ending was and I just- I couldn't believe it." Orion said, actually sitting up straight as his co-actors nodded in agreement.
Cycla snickered, "Yeah! We're all just sitting there, reading the script, baffled with how our show's first season ends. Which really shouldn't have been THAT much of a surprise I guess? When you start off the season killing off Cliffjumper- Revmaul, Cliff's actor, would NOT stop sending me jokes about his character's death by the way so screw you Rev, stop that - and THEN revive him as a zombie bot—"
"Terrorcon." Venami interrupted, Cycla rolled her optics but continued.
"Terrorcon, and then the Dark Energon kind of persists throughout the season… Naturally I guess, it all leads to the natural conclusion?" ]
"Season finale?" Ratchet murmured, optics hardening as he immediately realized the implications of what was going to happen. If 'Transformers: Prime' was a show about their current life then… "Optimus." He said sharply, gaining the attention of the Prime who seemed to realize the exact same thing.
"I know, old friend. Autobots, pay attention. We may be learning important information pertaining to our future." Optimus instructed with a hard look on his faceplate, his frame tense as he readied himself as to whatever was going to be revealed. A part of him was slightly interested at the fact that apparently in that world, while the Autobots and Decepticon war had existed, it had obviously ended long ago. Long before Cybertron made contact with Earth, long enough that someone, this Rung person- a Cybertronian perhaps? Had made a fictitious retelling of it, was interesting…
The fact that retelling was apparently all about their lives on Earth was encroaching somewhat dangerous yet hopefully helpful territory.
His Autobot team tensed, and even the humans watched closely with somewhat anxious eyes. Especially when Cycla mentioned Cliffjumper, Arcee hissed between gritted denta, feeling conflicted at the grief as well as unwanted jealousy and unfairness at the fact that Cliffjumper over there was alive. An actor who's character had died. But for Arcee, Cliffjumper was truly gone… His corpse, desecrated and turned into a monster…
Her servos curled into fists, clenching tightly.
There was a sense of tension in the air.
( The same could be said for the Decepticons on The Nemesis. The warlord quirking a ridged brow in obvious interest. )
Just what was the natural conclusion?
[ "The natural conclusion of Unicron, The Unmaker, Cybertron's version of Satan- being Earth itself. Or at least the core." Caster finished with a slight laugh, sounding somewhat but only a little bit hysterical.
"Cybertron's Satan is the Earth's core, yeah." Jackson nodded with his fellow humans, "No one was expecting that." ]
No one was expecting that indeed.
Chaos came to the Cybertronians of both Omega Outpost One and The Nemesis.
[ ----- TP : UO -----]
WAHAHAHAHA i spoil tfp season 1 to early tfp season 1. what a way to go. hehehehe, i wonder how that'll all go- but at any rate! i hope you guys enjoyed!
brief ocs of Caster, femme show host along with her human co-host polly! fun fact; polly is the daughter of Caster's original co-host who started Terran-Tron Live!
the actor's names were somewhat random- orion nox and dion are a nod to another fic of mine, called Twice The Primes where there are two sets of Optimus and Megatron, kind of. The other set of Optimus and Megatron, O-14 and D-16 were recently, officially redesignated as Orion Nox and Dion, so i decided to do the same here for the actor au.
cycla is just, motorcycle, i couldnt think of anything else for arcee. venami, just- venom, spider's venom but anami.
pulsebeat and glider- on the spot alternative names for soundwave that wasnt just... soundblaster and something else- i wanted to give him another name for his actor.
rumi astuhashi and antonio garcias- just random names and i just thought itd be extremely funny if jack was still jack darby but he goes by jackson. it'll get funnier when it's revealed that orion nox has to play orion pax in season 2 XD like human like prime hm?? hahahahaha
and yes, rung is the show's writer ;)
but yeah, this is the Wholesome Optimus and Megatron working together choice of the poll! they get to be co-actors with all the kids :D
what's the Serious version? we'll get there eventually! whenever that's picked out anyway. i don't know how many segments i'm planning to do for the actor au, at least three??? but yeah, this is... this gonna fun
i hope you guys enjoyed!

Tragic Misunderstanding?
Now tell me if this is a stretch or not. I think the whole 'dumping' during the fight with Bennifer was more of a misunderstanding than Lila just ending things with Five right then and there. Prior to her yelling "it's over five!" He and Diego had been fist fighting intensely for a good amount of the fight. All Five's resentment toward Diego being a possible obstacle to his happiness with lila rushing out. He had to restrain himself when they returned to the house (for the most part) We remember how protective and defensive Five was for Dolores when she would be touched or referred to rudely. Lila was real and had become his partner and lover in all ways. So feelings would be more volatile towards Diego. What with kissing and touching on her. That and Diego ordering him to "Stay away from my wife!" That set Five off since I believe he has seen lila as his wife in a manner of speaking from all the years spent together. Serving the roles that a husband would for a wife. Protector, provider and a source of love and comfort. Five also was present when lila told Diego she wanted a break. Which let's be honest, is often the kiss of death for relationships. Surprised it took them so long to let the walls down and finally be together ^^
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When five and diego were fighting, lila jumped in front of them to scold them both for fighting at a time like that. Five said "He wanted to kill him." A bit of old, rage filled five from the previous seasons creeped out. Think Lila was frustrated and losing her temper over all the testosterone with their brawling. That and Allison almost dying, the tentacles whipping around causing many of their family members to almost lose their life or at the very least be seriously injured. Why she locked eyes with him for a long moment since he was murderous. Saying how it was over. Think she meant the fighting over her. Time and place for all that. Not in such a dire situation like the one they were presently in.

Understandable that Five would assume the worse with her harsh words. His heart broke in the Greenhouse when she used her sharp tongue to diminish their relationship (for a moment anyway). Five is extremely perceptive and well tuned to her tells and every nuance with her. Being together constantly for 7 years would do that. Far more than The Handler when she mentioned she knew everything about lila essentially when she tried to deny feeling anything for Diego in season 2. So I hope he read between the lines. Still didn't prevent his heart from hurting...his greatest fear is loneliness. Think due to the kids, thought he would be forsaken in favor of returning to the 'broken marriage'. So when she says those words, he looked between her and Diego and assumed the worse. That he truly lost her and she made her decision. Quickly blinking away. Now what gave life to this theory was Lila's wide-eyed expression and uttering "shit." Right after he did what five usually does, blinked away when it did suit his fancy. Someone who meant to break up with the other party wouldn't look stunned with the 'Oh shit' face when the person gets the hell out of there to lick the emotional wounds. That looks like a clear, 'what have I done?' Expression. Then to add insult to injury, she couldn't very well leave since everyone was in the midst of being attacked by the world destroying bennifer monster. Even if she did choose to go after him, he blinked away first so her opening to borrow and mimic his blink ability left with him. Since five and his power are the only ways to reach that waypoint alternate timeline subway station.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He does return. Mentioning how he didn't intend to come back. That focus on Diego's face possibly meant he had hoped he stayed gone since Lila loves him and all. Anyway, when Five does come back it's pure relief in seeing him return. Having thought she probably wouldn't have laid eyes on him again with everything that transpired and her inability to follow him.

This is riddled with spoilers so it's under the cut, but here's my theory:
Doll was never in as much danger as she thought she was.
Doll is down in the labs because she wants to cure herself of the Solver. But I don't think she actually even needed to. I think her solver wasn't a threat to her at all (or at least in the way she thinks it is).
Tumblr media
The only two Solver users alive to use for reference here are Nori and Yeva, but if you see that list it says that Yeva had a version of the Patch installed. Reasonably speaking, we can assume that she was patched before the core collapse, because if this happened after, why would Nori still be down there looking for it? They would've known where it is cuz Yeva used it.
But:
Tumblr media
Yeva still uses her Solver right before the collapse. I think most people are under the assumption that the Patch completely removes the Solver from the host drone, but this doesn't seem to be the case based on this? While I think it's possible the Patch that gets thrown around by Nori in the flashback is a more recent version than the one Yeva has installed, I'd like to propose an alternative idea.
What if the Patch doesn't remove the abilities associated with the Solver at all? What if it just removes the ability for it to possess you?
You'd likely still overheat and need oil to soothe it, as we see with Doll, but Doll never gets possessed by this need on screen like Uzi does. Uzi's murders are all done under direct influence of the Solver, while Doll is very much in control of herself every single time she kills someone.
Yeva passed down a patched version of the Solver to her daughter, but Nori didn't.
But I don't think Doll knows this. I think Doll just assumed she was better at managing this than Uzi was. That needing to drink oil at all was the curse given to them, and needed to be fixed based on that. And then she sees (since she was there at camp) how Uzi lost control and figured that could probably happen to her too.
So she goes down into the labs, trying to find the cure because she fears that same loss of control, and what does she get told by the one who'd be doing the possessing?
Tumblr media
Doll can't get possessed. The Solver has no use for a vessel it cannot control. Therefore, all Doll is is someone who could cause problems if she helps cure the others.
Doll had all the benefits and only some of the drawbacks, thought that was because she was just really good with her powers, and then got killed for not having enough information to do proper risk assessment. The moment she decided to go down there she was on the chopping block.

"Father of Demons"? Anyway my new theory is that Nightbringer is God. Why? Because it'll be really funny and it'd fuck Lucifer up
Is it a crack theory? Yes. Is Nightbringer probably Barbatos? Yeah. Does it make sense? Not really. Am I gonna drag canon into this to see if I can convince you? .........
ANYWAY;
He was the only one around so he created two factions of directly opposing power to fight each other for his entertainment. Like a giant chess game against himself
• Literally like a giant chess game. Which is why the angels all wear white and the demons wear black or darker colours and both are generally opposed to wearing each other's clothes
• Symbolism! Bringing it all back around! Because Diavolo beating angel! Lucifer, in a chess game, is what makes Lucifer listen to Diavolo and start considering his point of view - that the War needn't go on
• No one knows why the War started, only that it's been going on for as long as they can remember.... because there was no one else around to know!
• Lucifer says that God never tried to find a solution to the War and wonders why.......
• The angels and demons need to be as opposite to each other as possible, so that they don't realise there's no real difference between them. God stayed in the Celestial Realm and enforced extremely strict laws while the demons were left to their own devices with no "Father of Demons" to guide them, making them extremely free but also extremely chaotic. And this truly is the biggest difference between the angels and demons in OM! as the angels are not "holy" and the demons are not "evil"
• Why someone has taken great care to hide all evidence of Nightbringer, including ripping out pages in old books
• Why Nightbringer is apparently powerful enough to get MC to travel through time and space
• The opportunity to go back around to and address the fact that Lucifer's biggest fear is his father
• The fact that Nightbringer knows so much about everyone like he has constantly being watching even though he never interacted with the others before
• The fact that Nightbringer was able to stop Adam from entering the Celestial Realm
• The fact that Nightbringer knew what would happen in the future (MC helping Adam, MC going against Solomon)
• The fact that Nightbringer transported MC when things started settling down in their own universe - the realms may not have been on the best terms but by the end of S4 they were steadily heading there and MC had a valid reason to spend more time in the Devildom. God was okay with the Chess Game stopping because he still got a soap opera out of it but then things started settling down and everything was calm and he was bored again so he plucked MC out and put them into an alternate universe where things are somehow worse than they ever were in MC's original universe - and he then gets two new soaps out of it - 1.) MC trying to deal with this new BS while a war breaking out keeps getting teased 2.) The brothers in the original universe absolutely losing their shit and falling apart
Forget what you think Solmare will actually do (possibly make Barbatos Nightbringer) - was I convincing? Did you actually stop and think "hey, wait a minute...."

[Episodes 7] It is impossible to live in the past, difficult to live in the present, and a waste to live in the future.
It’s often said that the safest place is also the most dangerous one.
Perhaps that’s why Qimir chose to remain hidden on Olega, despite it being home to the Jedi Temple, a major stronghold of the galaxy’s peacekeepers.
For most people, there was no reason to fear the Jedi, who were meant to protect them from harm. But that wasn’t the case for you. You remembered well what Qimir had told you: the Jedi were looking for you, too. Even though their exact motives remained unclear, the sense of paranoia never left your mind. Especially after the massacre on Tatooine, you and Qimir felt like fugitives—always just one step away from being caught if any evidence linking you to the crime surfaced and exposed your secret.
You hated being here. Given a choice, you would have fled to some remote planet at the edge of the galaxy. But Qimir had different ideas. “Most of those who know about your bounty are outlaws or trade federations. Neither group gets along with the Jedi, so they won’t be snooping around places where Jedi gather,” he reasoned. “And the Jedi? They’re too preoccupied with galactic affairs to pay much attention to the planet they’re on. Besides, you don’t have the Force, so finding you would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.”
Qimir wasn’t wrong. Life on Olega had turned out to be unexpectedly peaceful. Despite the city’s persistent chaos, it made hiding much easier. You and Qimir had managed to stay under the radar for over a year without major problems. Everything had settled so seamlessly that you almost forgot what it was like to be on the run from other planets.
With no need to keep moving, Qimir had shifted from his life as an illegal mercenary to opening a modest pharmacy. He also worked as a broker, selling medicines and various odds and ends to travelers passing through. Meanwhile, you had taken on the role of his assistant and personal apprentice. Qimir was dedicated to teaching you both the theory and practice of his knowledge, especially in combat. He also encouraged you to continue developing your powers rather than suppressing them as you had before. Like your mother, Qimir believed your abilities were too valuable to be wasted.
“Haven’t you ever thought,” Qimir once said, “that someone like you could rise to replace the Jedi one day? With your power, you could bring far more to the galaxy than they ever could.”
His words seemed absurd, like a far-fetched joke meant to tease you. You laughed every time, confident that such a thing would never happen.
Never getting involved with the Jedi, no matter what, had always been your rule for survival.
But sometimes, fate can be cruelly ironic, and this was a joke that wasn’t amusing at all.
That's what occurs at noon on a Friday—one of fate's cruel jokes when you unexpectedly find yourself face-to-face with a group of Jedi.
It all takes place at Qimir’s pharmacy on a day he isn’t around. Lately, he has been disappearing more frequently—sometimes for two or three hours, or even the better part of a day—claiming he has business to attend to involving herbal shipments from other planets. As a result, you’re left to run the store in his absence, handling the medicines and assisting customers as usual.
But everything changes the moment the shop’s bell rings and the door swings open. Brilliant sunlight floods the store, heralding the arrival of three strangers you’ve never seen before.
One of them is a teenage theelin-human hybrid girl, with paper-white skin adorned with spots and orange hair with small horns encircling her head like a crown. The other two are human men—one middle-aged, with long black hair tied in a half-ponytail, his face stern and serious; the other younger, with sharp features, sun-bronzed skin, and a tall, muscular frame, likely not much older than you.
They couldn’t be more different from each other, except for their identical attire. They’re dressed in light yellow tunics, covered by long brown robes, and each wears a large belt with the unmistakable emblem of the Jedi Order.
Jedi—The realization hits you like a bolt of lightning the moment your eyes land on their belts, and you instinctively draw in a sharp breath.
You quickly wipe your sweaty palms on your skirt, composing yourself with practiced ease. Lifting your head from behind the counter, you address them with a polite, businesslike smile. “How may I assist the three of you today?”
The older man, likely a Jedi Master, introduces himself with courtesy as Sol, while the young girl, his Padawan, is named Jecki. The other young man, a Jedi Knight, is introduced as Yord. “We’re here on a mission,” Sol informs you, his voice laced with concern. “We’re investigating a serious incident that occurred in this city.”
You have no idea what serious incident he’s referring to or how severe it must be to involve the Jedi. For a moment, your mind jumps to the possibility that it might be connected to you—until Jecki explains further, warning you to keep the information strictly confidential.
It turns out that the serious incident is a series of murders currently happening on Olega. Four bodies in four months—each victim a high-ranking Jedi responsible for overseeing the temple here.
"Since the incident is still recent, the killer might be someone who just moved here or snuck into the city illegally," Sol continues. "There are many of these types around the spaceports, which is why we need to increase security in those areas to ensure the safety of the citizens."
You can tell Sol's words hold only a half truth. The Jedi aren't particularly concerned about the lives of citizens since the killer's targets are not random people but specifically high-ranking Jedi.
The presence of the three Jedi at the pharmacy today is no coincidence. As a newcomer here, you're automatically placed among the suspects, though none of them have the nerve to say it outright to your face.
Understanding this, you begin to relax a little. After all, you have nothing to do with these murders, so there's no reason to worry. You just need to play along with the Jedi's charade until it's over.
Sol, the group's leader, takes charge of questioning you, with Jecki also taking part in the interrogation. Most of their questions are basic: had you noticed anything strange or seen any unusual people recently? They also delve into your personal history—your identity, background, and reasons for ending up on this planet.
You respond naturally, mixing truth with lies, careful not to arouse suspicion. You're confident in your ability to act convincingly—that is, until you sense the sharp gaze of the one Jedi in the group who hasn’t said a word.
You furrow your brow, the intense scrutiny from the Jedi named Yord making you increasingly uncomfortable. You try to ignore him, but there's something inexplicably magnetic about his presence—an instinctive urge that draws you to meet his gaze.
At first, you think he's trying to catch you in a lie, but when you see his expression, you're surprised.
He’s not scrutinizing you for deception—he’s staring at you in shock, as if you’re some kind of ghost.
As you peer deeply into his brown eyes with curiosity, time seems to stretch unnaturally long. You find yourself not looking at the present but plunging into the past. Every moment flashes before your eyes like pages of a book flipping by—one year, ten years, a hundred years, up to a thousand years.
Suddenly, your consciousness is yanked back to the present. You startle as your entire body trembles with the icy chill sweeping over you. Pain surges through you like a jolt of electricity, followed by the sticky sensation of blood trickling from your nose.
You know exactly what’s happening. The side effects of your vision are punishing you for seeing what was not meant to be seen.
Closing your eyes, you take slow, deep breaths, trying to steady yourself and acclimate to the pain. As your senses return, you hear Sol’s concerned voice. "Are you all right?"
"I’m fine," you quickly reply, shaking your head while wiping the blood from your nose with a handkerchief. You feign composure, even though the lingering pain continues to gnaw at you from within.
Sol looks at you with disbelief, but he doesn’t press further. His face betrays concern, and you can’t help but think how fitting he is as a Jedi. His every gesture screams 'purity' If goodness had a color, this man would be the brightest white—so blinding it hurts to look at.
The awkward silence breaks as Sol clears his throat, returning to the topic at hand. “We still don’t have any more leads on the perpetrator, other than the fact that they’re highly skilled with weapons—probably a former soldier or maybe...” He trails off, as if he almost let something slip, but catches himself just in time. "Anyway, if you find any suspicious leads, don’t hesitate to contact me or any other Jedi.”
You watch as Sol places a thin metal card on the counter before bidding you farewell with the classic phrase, "May the Force be with you." He and the other Jedi then leave the pharmacy quietly.
You reach for the card, running your fingers along its cold metallic edge. Upon closer inspection, you realize it’s an electronic contact card, storing his information. The front clearly reads, ‘Sol, Human, Jedi Master.
For a brief moment, you consider throwing it far away, but something compels you to tuck it into your pocket instead.
Tumblr media
The sun slowly sinks, signaling the approach of evening. Hours have passed, but you're still lost in thought, pondering the group of Jedi you encountered—especially Sol’s story of the horrifying Jedi murder case. Though it has nothing to do with you directly, you can't shake the unease creeping into your mind. It's an inexplicable feeling of foreboding, devoid of any logical reason, as if instinct itself is whispering from deep within, warning you to be cautious. Yet you have no idea what or whom you should be wary of.
And then, there's another matter weighing heavily on your mind—the Jedi Knight named Yord.
His name has settled deep into your thoughts, etched onto your lips. A strange sense of familiarity fills your chest, as though you’ve known him before, despite seeing his face and hearing his name for the first time today.
How odd you think, fragments of a past you can barely recall flicker in your mind, disjointed and unclear. You want to focus your power on a vision, to delve deeper into the memory, but your body is too frail. It would only bring more pain. All you can do now is predict the hazy path of the future, as far as your bruised mind will allow.
You close your eyes, adjusting your breathing to a slow, steady rhythm. You let your mind sink into the stream of consciousness of possible futures.
There’s a ninety percent chance.
Certainty rises inside you—the answer you seek will come when you meet him again... soon.
The Bene Gesserit meditation gradually envelops your mind, nurturing it with such calm and a cold, almost numb detachment. Your fingers gently brush against the knife hidden in your cloak, recognizing that it may become necessary if things spiral out of control.
You step toward the front door of the shop, hand reaching for the handle, but a sudden hesitation grips you, freezing you in place.
A moment of silence surrounds you. You feel like a fish swimming towards a hook, drawn into a dangerous situation you shouldn't be involved with. The closer you get, the harder it becomes to turn back.
But in the end, you open the door anyway.
You stand there, waiting for something to happen. It doesn’t take long before someone grabs your arm, pulling you swiftly into the narrow alley beside the shop, hidden from the bustling street.
Your back hits the wooden wall of a nearby house—not hard enough to hurt, but enough to knock the wind out of you. You look up, meeting Yord's eyes with a calm expression, showing no sign of surprise. You know he is waiting for you, just as you are waiting for him.
“Be careful. You’re in a place you shouldn’t be,” he warns in a firm voice. “Get out while you still can.”
That’s all he says before releasing your shoulder and quickly walking back to the street, disappearing into the crowd while you stay still, watching his broad back in the yellow Jedi uniform fade from view.
In that moment, it's as if a veil of uncertainty is lifted, revealing a truth you had suspected before.
You are certain now. That Jedi can see the future—just like you.[1]
Tumblr media
Footnotes:
[1] In Star Wars canon, some Jedi can see the future, but only a few—usually masters with strong Force abilities like Yoda (though as he got older, his visions became less reliable). You can see that Jedi powers and the Bene Gesserit abilities are somewhat similar (because Dune inspired Star Wars). However, in this fic, the author wanted to create a special distinction between the Reader (who is a Bene Gesserit) and the Jedi, so regular Jedi can’t have visions like the Reader. Yord’s case is unique and will have significant importance to the plot later on.

As ‘Desmond can steal/touch his ancestor when he’s Bleeding’ idea more or less can be seen as gen, I figured this absolutely AltDes version (as I sorta hinted on in the alternate POV) should have its own post instead.
The AltDes version has definitely been started by the wonderful @thedragonqueen1998
Oh, i just imagine Altair waiting for the spirit to return to him after the whole thing with the apple went down, only to never feel him again. Maybe he'd use the apple to get answers? Could defo lead to altdes if you want comfort. ^^
My reply:
Yeessssss. Let's end this with Altaïr finding a way to keep Desmond in his timeline and maybe a big scene of Desmond holding onto Altaïr's red sash for one last time before he dies and Altaïr just grabbing his hand while the Apple glows and dragging him to his timeline
===========================
From @thedragonqueen1998
oh, im just imagining Desmond going up to the Eye and he sees Altaïr standing there, with his back turned and he holds onto the sash before he puts his hand on the device. He doesnt know if hes screaming as theres only the burning pain, the intense heat, the pure whiteness, the.. feel of fine silk in his left hand.
Altaïr has made sure to keep the Apple on him, so that if the spirit returns he could hopefully anchor it. Maybe he could finally ask some questions without it dissapearing? But its been months. Where as the spirit visited every few days, theres been nothing now. Maybe he should finally put it to rest? Hide away the Apple from anyone seeking to use i-
The spirit, its back. He makes sure to make very slow moves to pull out the Apple while the spirit holds his sash.
He cant mess this up, it might be months if not years until he can get another chance to anchor Desmond to him. With the Apple in his hands he tries to link the spirit to him. To communicate with it. Thats when the screaming starts. Altaïr freezes, these arent just screams of pain, its a death call. Is this how it died? He desperatly wants to turn, to comfort the dying creature, but he cant risk it. The Apple says its 47% done with "uploading memory".
What that means, Altaïr does not know, but the Apple has never failed in granting him his wishes, though understanding the information is another matter. He doesnt know if its been seconds, minutes or hours listening to the horrid screams, to smelling burnt flesh, before they stop and the Apple says "Memory Transfer Complete. Starting Body Transfer. Body Damaged By 20%, Repairs Can Be Done. Proceed?" Repairs? Does it mean saving the spirit? If so, "Proceed".
===========================
Addition from me
Malik did not understand this entire ‘spirit’ business that Altaïr has built in his mind. He had never felt anything strange whenever he was with Altaïr. If anything, the bureau in Jerusalem felt more haunted than Altaïr himself but, even if Malik has no real concrete explanation to the disappearing cups and small items in Jerusalem’s bureau, he also wouldn’t be able to stop it from being concluded as being ‘I forgot where I put it’.
Nonetheless, Altaïr stresses that the spirit is real and his obsession with this spirit of his that is named Desmond was simply another facet of Altaïr’s personality at this point. It was his deepest secret, only told in confidence to Malik because he needed a ‘sounding board’ to talk over his theories and plans.
Malik would have suggested he get a cat but he feared that making Altaïr a cat owner would either make a very spoiled and fat cat or a neglected wild cat that would get its treats elsewhere while its owner forget its existence.
So he tried to be this quiet sounding board, even ready to simply look over the reports given to him as part of his duties as Altaïr’s Keeper when he starts to hear all these… tales of a time far beyond them, machineries that Altaïr explains but left Malik reeling and feeling quite foolish for not understanding, of this… Animus.
Malik had thought Altaïr had gone mad. That whatever power had driven Al Mualim mad when he held the Apple had taken hold of Altaïr by tempting him with what he desired more than power itself.
Knowledge…
And a connection beyond what mortals usually have.
Malik had never thought of Altaïr as being a romantic but he was a man who liked to make dramatic entrances and exits. Cyprus would be a testament to that and, really, it was just as well that Altaïr did not do anything too stupid when he went to Cyprus. (Although a temporary alliance with a Templar woman had been risky and Malik was just glad said woman had told Altaïr that she was leaving Levant to travel elsewhere.)
Malik didn’t want to deal with that kind of headache. Malik had been ready to tell Altaïr that perhaps the Apple had been faking it but then Altaïr showed him these… ‘post its’ that Desmond supposedly left and…
The materials themselves were nothing Malik had seen before. The words he used in English were strange but his Arabic was fluent.
And looks eerily like Altaïr’s, both in the way it was written and the words used.
Perhaps that was what made Altaïr snap.
The insinuation that this Desmond didn’t exist. That Altaïr had made up this person, a person who, from Altaïr’s own description and the little papers Malik had seen, looked and sounded like the kind of person that Altaïr would fall in love with.
Kind but as lonely as him, understanding of Altaïr’s own faults and still believing in him…
Malik had feared that Altaïr would do something drastic.
He had plans already written up and was about to start preparations in secret to keep Masyaf and the Brotherhood running while he tries to get into the bottom of this entire Desmond thing.
Altaïr was slowly unraveling because Desmond hadn’t been contacting him. Just quietly visiting, Altaïr had called them.
It felt like this was the prelude to something big in Malik’s eyes.
Make Altaïr desperate for any communication, make him desire to ‘hear’ from Desmond once more… Altaïr was primed to do something stupid and Malik believed that the perpetrator had to be that damn Apple.
So Malik went to Altaïr’s private studies to finally confront him and, if need be, knock him out so he could drag him away from the Apple.
But, when he got there, he found Altaïr holding an unconscious man in his arms.
A man wearing clothes that Malik had never seen before… And a right arm charred and black with golden lines lightly glowing underneath the cracks…
“Malik…”
Malik realized…
“I did it. I anchored Desmond to me.”
… that perhaps that spirit that has been tempting Altaïr this entire time had been one of the olden ones that had created the Apple itself.
===========================
And more ideas from @zero-saito and @thedragonqueen1998
From @thedragonqueen1998
@teecupangel oooh, thats so hood! Malik would be so suspicious of Desmond, thinking hes tricking or manipulating Altaïr, but also cant help but like him. How he makes Maliks tea exactly how he likes it, how he pushes Altaïr into taking breaks and how he treats the novices. How could a being that made the accursed Apple be so pure and good? Did it take the darkness within it and store it into the artifact? Or something else? The being, Desmond, talks very little of it. For what reason does he share such wonderous "future" ideas, but will not tell of where to find more artifacts, of their uses and purpose? Malik can only hope it is for a good reason.
From @zero-saito
@thedragonqueen1998 @teecupangel I love all of this ‘spam’ 😍 this is great!! Yes to suspicious Malik but also Desmond is so sweet he can’t be mad for long. Also altair finally calming down and stop simping over a ghost! Wait! Malik finding out that desmond was haunting the bureau and either asking for the stuff back or an explanation. Desmond having puppy eyes that break Malik like Kadar used to
From @thedragonqueen1998
@zero-saito god yes, Desmonds puppy eyes are lethal! And he feels so guilty cause his hoard didnt travel with him. And he cant help stealing more to build another. He's like a dragon, gotta hoard everything!
From @zero-saito
@thedragonqueen1998 he has to steal things from altair and Malik the old fashioned way but he might still be able to steal from ezio and Connor the usual way. He will miss his family mementos after all
From @thedragonqueen1998
@zero-saito oh, didnt think about him keeping his Bleeds. :O i cant really think of anything else to add though XD im out of ideas here.
===========================
I got you, guys XD
Desmond wasn’t sure how Altaïr had done it and Altaïr himself was still studying it but his reasoning for studying it was more on the side of making sure Desmond stayed anchored to him. Desmond was sure that there was no way for him to return to his time, not when Altaïr had taken him just as he was about to die, his last memory the sound of his own voice telling him in a robotic sounding tone that the Solar Flare has passed and that it was dispersing the remaining 10% of the shield.
Desmond didn’t know if dispersing the shield was even a good thing but he had fate in the Assassins (his friends) that they would figure something out if it didn’t.
Oh, and about Juno too.
But Desmond was going to ask Altaïr’s help on that front too once he was satisfied that Desmond wouldn’t be thrown out of his time at all.
Honestly…
Desmond was sure that only Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton would be able to do that anyway since it was highly possible the ones he could connect with were the only ones who could use the Apple that way.
Between the two, Ratonhnhaké:ton wouldn’t even know it was an option because he would throw the Apple into the sea as soon as he received it, knowing the danger that it possessed.
Ezio wouldn’t even think about asking the Apple such things. He had always been wary of the Apple’s power and it took Machiavelli pushing him for weeks for him to even ask the Apple where Cesare was. So… yeah, Ezio was highly unlikely.
And…
Even if they do…
Desmond was sure he and Altaïr would end up trying to contact one another to find a way to bring Desmond back.
It would be nice to see Ezio or Ratonhnhaké:ton. To be able to talk to them and to tell them everything but…
Desmond wanted to stay in this time.
He wanted to stay with Altaïr.
So the moment he saw their backs as another Bleeding Episode hit him, he gave them a letter that explained his situation.
Desmond couldn’t believe he didn’t think of it before.
Not like there were any papers lying around that Desmond could use in any of the hideouts he’d been. They mostly kept everything in their laptops, computers and other gadgets. Any paper lying around would be important that Desmond couldn’t take or part of Shaun’s corkboard which he also couldn’t take unless he wanted Shaun to start slapping his hand like a mother batting her child’s hand before the child could take a cookie.
Here in Masyaf though…
Malik was okay giving him as many pieces of paper as he wished.
He knew Malik was still wary of him and Desmond wasn’t surprised.
Hell.
He’d be more surprised if Malik wasn’t wary of him at all.
Still, Desmond was pretty sure that he was slowly whittling Malik’s suspicion of him since he had been more than forthcoming about everything.
Also…
Malik did see the small treasure hoard that Altaïr’s (and Desmond’s) room had in the corner, filled with a lot of strange items that Desmond was more than happy to explain to Malik.
He would forever miss his hoard back in the 21st century but it was fine. He knew the others wouldn’t mind helping Desmond have a new one.
He… was still not sure if he should laugh or be offended that Malik had thought he was an Isu.
But that was fine.
Masyaf…
This place…
This time…
It was peaceful.
And he knew the pitfalls that would come.
Desmond was confident that Altaïr and Malik would listen to him once he explained it all.
But for now…
He just wants to relax for a bit.
And let himself be consumed by the peace and happiness he felt.

I have no idea how exactly to make my HC into fic canon, so imma plop it here so the brain worms stop eating me:
Taking into consideration that the Infinite Tsukiyomi is a dream world, and Itachi’s Tsukiyomi is called the Nightmare World, I think it is reasonable to assume that they both work basically the same way, I.e. reflecting the subconscious of whomever they’re cast upon.
(This is reinforced for me I suppose by the old fandom theories about how Itachi’s Tsukiyomi worked, and I’ll own that bias lol.)
Anyway, something that came up way back then was an idea I liked, which is that Itachi’s Tsukiyomi works by blending the user’s influence (because Itachi can, sort of, manipulate the content consciously) and the victims deepest (subconscious or unconscious) fears or desires.
How much of each takes precedence I think is something Itachi can control — unless their fear/desire is so overwhelming that he can’t actually impress anything upon it, or if they lack the notion of either entirely.
Anyway, point is, this makes his scene with Kakashi in pt 1 very interesting. 🧐
Tumblr media
As we know Itachi crucified him and stabbed him relentlessly in deliberately non-lethal spots for 3 full days.
Except…I’m not actually convinced, from a watsonian perspective, that Itachi was the one making up this hellscape, not on his own.
The following is entirely speculative, so to each their own opinion, but it suits my little fic-bearing heart just fine to presume that:
1. Itachi was trying to go easy on him. His objective was to capture Kakashi alive (…to what end we can only guess; I’ll write an alternate fic for that scenario someday :0) and he clearly holds Kakashi in high esteem, not even mentioning the whole former colleague thing. It’s very possible that Itachi’s actual objective, had he managed to successfully capture Kakashi, was to share intel rather than collect it, and to that end he needed to ensure that he disarmed his senpai without killing OR severely traumatizing him, because he did need Kakashi to have some hope of trusting him if that plan was to succeed.
2. However, Itachi was still figuring out the details of how his power worked; he knew it’d make him go blind eventually, so he tried to minimise how often he used it, at the expense of taking forever and a day to work out the kinks. One of which is the likelihood that, particularly in the absence of other conscious influences from him, the other persons fears/desires would manifest more vividly.
Thus we get a crucified Kakashi…because of how his father died.
Now, from a doylist perspective, obviously, the entire thing is just about the aesthetic aspect of Scarecrow vs Crow.
But the watsonian believer in me says that being crucified literally like that is a reflection of a deep, somewhat neglected fear by Kakashi of becoming just like his dad. After all, he spent so much of his young life trying so hard to be the opposite of him, all rules and no play, until Obito convinced him otherwise.
But trauma like that doesn’t just vanish. Kakashi might be very mature about it, or we can presume so, but the fear never fully left him — he’s just more aware of it and capable of acknowledging it without letting it totally consume him like he did when he was tiny.
Which contributes probably to the utter lack of long term consequences for that Tsukiyomi nightmare; first, physical torture is the easiest to psychologically resist, and second, he was at least subconsciously already aware of that fear, so while seeing it manifested certainly had an effect, it wasn’t enough to really re-traumatize him or anything.
What’s more interesting to me, in the name of catharsis, is how Itachi interpreted all that.
Sadly we don’t get to see that, but I reckon it did answer a few questions he might’ve had and probably gave him a greater sense of grace or respect towards Kakashi; or at least that’s what we are working with for A Fawn in the Grass purposes lol.
Ah the fic bunnies will surely nuzzle me to death about this concept until I actually write something down, but I am determined to finish one fic at a time right now. Otherwise I just spam 6 at a time and none of them ever get done lol.
But I will come back to it some day. Because so much could have changed if Itachi had actually captured Kakashi on that day.
I leave you with that while I go contemplate alternate timelines 🤣

Theory Time: Blitz earns his wings (literally)
I can definitely see Blitz earning his wings in a moment of significant personal growth, similar to how Vaggie’s transformation happened during Out for Love. However, given Blitz’s personality and the nature of Helluva Boss, it likely wouldn’t happen in a grand, dramatic musical number. Instead, it would be tied to something deeply personal—his self-worth or achieving something he never thought possible.
One of the most compelling ideas is that Blitz’s wings could manifest as a symbol of him finally committing to a relationship and staying in it. We’ve seen time and time again that Blitz struggles with intimacy and trust, often sabotaging his connections before they can get too deep. The Full Moon episode highlighted this pattern with Stolas, and even his past with Verosika and Fizz shows how much he fears getting hurt or abandoned. If he were to finally break that cycle and allow himself to be truly vulnerable—whether by fully committing to Stolas or even learning to love himself—it could be a moment worthy of transformation.
Speaking from experience, loving yourself is infinitely harder than just telling someone you care about them. Actions mean more than words, and Blitz has a habit of using his bravado, sarcasm, quips, and volatility as a shield. While he genuinely loves those within the walls of I.M.P., he struggles to extend that love beyond his closest circle, with rare exceptions like Fizz, Asmodeus, and Bee. If earning his wings was tied to proving—both to himself and others—that he can overcome those fears, it would be a powerful narrative moment.
Tumblr media
What makes me consider this theory is the object on Loona’s—now Stolas’s—desk. It looks like an eye with wings on the sides and two cobras. I could be mistaken, and it might just be a random decorative piece or something he needed for a receptionist’s desk without deeper meaning. However, it’s still interesting to think about, especially considering how, before the Full Moon episode, we were all wondering why Blitz had a cross on his gloves—only for it to later be revealed as a setup for the Asmodean Crystal in Season 2.
If Blitz were to gain wings, I think it would be fitting for him to receive them sometime around mid-Season 3 or at the season’s end. I can easily imagine him making a joke about it, excitedly saying something like, “I’m having a Twilight moment.” More than that, I think it would be incredibly useful, considering his boyfriend (cuz in S3 they’re definitely gonna be official at some point during the season) is 11 feet tall. Constantly climbing Stolas would be exhausting, and while I find both scenarios adorable, at least with wings, Blitz would have the option to alternate between climbing and flying.

Why Did Jinx Make Fishbones Look Like Finn?
You know, as much as Fishbones works as a touching homage to Silco, with its clever inclusion of Silco's visual motifs like his scarred eye and aquatic apex predator imagery. Fishbones also works as a subtle dunk on Finn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Compared to the original canon, Arcane's Fishbones is more personalized to Jinx's history. So while Fishbones now captures a lot of Silco's style, Fishbones also gets a golden jaw, and only one person has that kind of prosthetic, Finn.
But then you'd have to wonder what makes Finn so special to include on this masterclass weapon that was Jinx's ultimate gift to Silco. These two chembarons couldn't be more different in style and motivation. They wouldn't be in the same room if they both didn't explicitly need something from the other. That's when I realized that in a technical level, Jinx and Finn serve the same purpose for Silco.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jinx is a well known and feared agent for Silco that makes weapons and dishes out violence, she's practically a one woman army. While Finn's gang, the Slickjaws, operate as hired guns and weaponsmakers. Finn was probably so ready to undermine Jinx in the eyes of the other chembarons and Silco himself because she made Finn less relevant to Silco.
Finn could still be an important chembaron as his gang ran an lucrative industry in Zaun, but Silco never had to be completely dependent on Finn in his Shimmer operation because he had Jinx. And for a businessman like Finn, Jinx was practically working for free! So it's not like he could buy her out, or outright kill the boss's daughter. One, dumb move, and two, low chance for success.
Tumblr media
This all begs the question, how deep did the rivalry and resentment run? Was it one-sided? Probably not, because Jinx isn't an idiot and knows when people don't like her. Jinx probably never killed Finn, one, because I'd doubt he ever talked about her the way he did to her face. Two, because she wouldn't outright disrupt an important business relationship for Silco, at least not until recently. But with Fishbones, that all changes, it's the pinnacle of her talents that far surpasses what others like him could do. Fishbones is not just an act of love and dedication, but a power statement against anyone who challenges her position. For Finn and the Slickjaws in general, she can easily replace them with whatever she chooses to make.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alternate theory: Hell, maybe Silco had Jinx train under the Slickjaws, possibly in an apprenticeship like how Renni's son worked in Silco's factory. Renni's son was probably sent to study the alchemy of Shimmer production, he wore a mask like the original chemist in the Cannery did. And when Jinx proved to be incredibly talented in weapons-crafting and fighting, Silco likely made sure she stayed by his side. Finn could have resented that he lost out on a great asset that turned into competition.

“A Means to an End” (Again)
Last time…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Markus was completely drunk and needed to sober up for a meeting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he does…which fits my is-secretly-blended-with-Malek theory. Like this is some alternate Stargate universe where Malek got stranded on Earth and met with Markus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I want to re-curl his hair.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Come to the meeting.” ”No.” ”Please.” ”I knew this wouldn’t work because you have a last name.” ”You had a last name in the first episode that introduced you.” ”That was the pilot. It doesn’t count.” ”Fine. What is your new last name?” ”Coleridge.” ”It’s pretty.” ”Okay, I will go to the meeting.”
Kind of interesting. Markus is making his moves. The episode started out strong, then kind of puttered out.
Got never-seen-them before brothers challenging Markus…but the reasoning is just weak. It’s not for power. It’s because they fear bringing people in…for a meeting.
So Brother 1 wants to take charge. Brother 2 backs him up, and then starts crap with Theo, framing her, to prove that it’s a bad idea. Makes the mistake of hitting her, so of course, she hits back, and he ends up paralyzed.
Jeremiah and Kurdy are suspicious because Theo isn’t stupid and because stealing a walkie talkie makes no sense. “It’s what someone in the mountain would think an outsider would take.” (Paraphrasing.)
The problem is… The brothers are from the outside, so they are just being hypocrites, and Brother 2’s actions are all…really dumb. How did this guy make it on the council? He says he remembers what it was like to be on the outside, but it doesn’t fit.
That lot would make sense if they were originally from the mountain. It would explain the entire plot, give them a point without being hypocrites, and it would make Brother 2’s actions just seem naive. Like getting rough with Theo when trying to check her bad. That’s just idiotic. Of course, she is going to retaliate. All he had to do was make the accusation and let security handle it.
So Brother 1 is told that his brother might be guilty. Brother 2 tells him that he did. Brother 1 goes the council meeting, confesses Brother 2’s actions, resigns, and then leaves.
Then Markus is like, “Oh, the best man left.” The fuck? No, Markus, he was an idiot. People are coming for them. They know that, and the brothers wanted to shove their heads in the ground and pretend nothing bad is going to happen.
The episode had a lot of potential, but it fell flat. Imagine if the brothers had been from inside. Markus was the oldest kid who survived in that mountain. The challenge would be coming from people he grew up with, potentially people he helped raise. And the whole plot would make a lot more sense.

the acolyte episode 5 spoilers/theories
I'm a star wars casual and by no means am I an expert on all the lore and history of star wars outside of the movies. that being said-
after the latest episode I am so certain that master indara was leading some sort of crusade around the galaxy, forcing children who were force-sensitive to join the jedi and decimating entire alternative sects of force-users for fear of them becoming/aligning themselves with the sith
I also don't think the "mae" that set fire to the temple was actually mae. torbin takes osha's blood sample for the test, so I can only assume he also took mae's, and if there is some way for them to mimic the appearance of a person using their blood, I think either indara herself was able to take on the appearance of mae or she had torbin do it with the intention of wiping out the entire sect (especially if the blood sample showed they were created through the power of the force, much like anakin was)
it struck me how odd mae's reaction to osha was when they found each other on the bridge. mae looked confused, heartbroken, and I remembered wondering why she'd feel that way if she was already going so far as to kill her sister. it would make sense if it wasn't mae, and it would also make their exchange of "what have you done?" "what have you done?" come across differently. osha believed the person who set the fire was really mae, and mae believed the fire was set by the jedi and it was all osha's fault for telling the truth and allowing them in. by all means, the plan was working perfectly... the only problem is sol did not want to go along with the plan.
he rushed in to save osha and mae, feeling guilt for what indara (and maybe torbin) had done, and was only able to save osha. I also find it odd that we never get a close up of any of the bodies of the coven.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they're all laid out as if they all just... died? from smoke inhalation? there are pieces of the ceiling that have fallen but it's not like the thing caved in and killed them all in one spot. I feel like they were killed before the fire started to prevent anyone from stopping it or surviving. if it weren't for sol's guilt, it would have worked
according to the wiki, we also know that indara suggests osha's jedi training be terminated later in life, and it would explain why when osha confronts mae in episode 5, mae specifically says the jedi have brainwashed her but doesn't admit to setting the fire. mae knows the lie that was fed to osha, and she was willing to throw away her allegiance to the master because she could not give up on osha. mae could not have started that fire!!!

A RANT
THE NEON LEON
Tumblr media
(II) Why he needs to fail at being a leader
Inspired by Skulltrot's Leo analysis on Youtube (WATCH IT, IT'S SO GOOD, I LOVE IT)
What? Crystal! You're contradicting yourself-
Shhhh! This is poetry, listen to me
One of the reasons i've seen people complain about rise leo, is his overall "confidence".
They find him annoying or reduce him to "the funny guy", the one that messes everything up in the movie and deus ex machina's his way to the power of friendship.
But honestly, i think this is so far from the truth; Leo is integral to the concept and culmination of the rise turtles, he cements the message this version of the turtles has been trying to explain from the beginning.
You can't do everything alone; trust those who love you, and love those who you trust.
But honestly, i think a lot of people forget that we've all probably felt like him before.
Leo is quite a complicated character to understand easily (mostly bc the rise series got horribly cut down and omg i'm still hurting), because an important part of his character is he will literally never be honest about what he's feeling. The only thing he talks about? How he knows (bc he doesn't just think it, he's so sure about it) nobody trusts him or thinks he's capable of holding his own weight.
He comes off as uninterested and goofy because he so desesperately clings to that portrayal of himself because he needs to trick both others and his own mind that he's fine.
He doesn't think he's enough, he believes the team would be perfectly fine without him. He thinks he needs to prove he can do something so he can be valuable to the team.
And i think it's amazing
"Rise of the TMNT", the title already gives away the purpose of their different personalities and coping mechanisms on this version of the story. We're not meant to see an structured team of properly trained ninjas, we're here for the ride, we are walking alongside them as the team gets in line and learn how to be heroes.
Sure the other versions of the turtles had their own character arcs, you don't need to see something from the instant beginning to know the characters are growing, but rise has always felt more of a love letter to the turtle family itself. A complete exploration of an alternate universe where the mad dogz got to somewhat live as teenagers before earning the mantle as protectors of the world (and new york lol).
We're familiar with Leonardo's story in evey tmnt version, he's the leader. He's in charge of protecting the city and his family.
But the problem is always there, he fears he won't be enough, that he will fail to be the leader the world asks him to be. This is also something we see in rise leo but it's more...fresh? It feels naturally younger.
Were you never nagged about not taking things seriously when you were younger? Were you never yelled at for messing things up? Didn't you ever feel as if you had to prove to others that you were more they perceived you to be?
As someone that battles their own inferiority complex, leo feels...so easy to relate to.
He didn't ask for the responsability, and he kind of doesn't want it, but he learns to bear it properly.
He fails to be the good leader they expect him to be (i also have the theory he self-sabotages himself a lot?) but he learns to be more than what they expect.
To quote myself from my last post (yes i loved typing that) "a leader is not the one that orders, but the one that motivates and supports you". He learns how being a leader is not imposing or bearing every problem and responsability alone, but to motivate your team and guide them to never loose hope.
He uses everything he already knows about himself and his team to be better and guide them to a new version of the ninja turtle gang, one where family and trust is far more important than anything else (and it feels good to know we won't have the typical raph vs leo fight for leadership in the future- i mean there was a fight BUT IT WASN'T ABOUT THAT)
Someone stop me i might just start a tmnt rant loop of my own making and i'm enjoying it😭

I loove the theory that Mario loved secretly Armando. They are both toxic but I think they would get along great as a couple 😭
What do you think about them?
Hiii! Thanks for the question🥰 but I think you arent going to like my answer at all lmao
Tbh, I don't like the theory or the ship lol I will proceed to explain why so if you don't want to see the ship or theory dragged I apologize but since you asked my opinion ig I'll be honest lmao
1. I don't see the theory that Mario was in love with Armando viable because it goes against my personal interpretation of the character.
I see Mario as a manipulative and nearly machiavellian hedonistic man. I see his actions as coming from a place of mere fun and manipulation. He cares about himself above all else, and if he has to step on top of others to preserve himself, his position, his entertainment and his power, so be it (ex. The plan, ofc. He doesn't care about using Betty). He doesn't care about the harm he causes others: women are toys to be used and discarded, ans men are tools. Women can be controlled by their emotions (Patricia, Betty, Marcela), and men through their fears (Armando). The only person who we ever see Calderón sort of caring about is Armando, and even then it's highly debatable to which degree he truly cared. When Armando is at his lowest points we continually see Calderón further kicking him down, like when Armando is nearly having a crisis about his sexual frustrations due to Betty's refusal and Mario starts taunting him about Nicolás being the one to satisfy Betty and that he's better at sex/bigger than Armando. We see Mario alternate between checking the grounds to see where Armando is at (he's a very observant man and can quickly tell when something is off. Ex. When Betty was injured. Ex.2. Calderón extremly quickly realizes Armando feels different about Betty) making fun of him for his emotional turmoil even after Armando has told him it's very important to him. Mario's body language is very important, too. You see how he processes information much better in his facial expressions than with words. If you're interested in a deep analysis of dkfferent but crucial scenes, I recommend checking out @youwontlikethisblog 's posts. But yeah, Mario is very manipulative and his actions come from looking for his own benefit.
I know that the last paragraph sounded super sinister, but that's who Mario is in my eyes. We just don't see it as plainly because he's funny and handsome, but morally speaking, he's barely a step above Daniel lol. He's funny in the things he says, his mannerisms, and he's super charming, which is why men like him are much more dangerous than men like Daniel lmao with Daniel, at least you know sknce the first hello thay he's a jerk, with Mario, you see a polite smile and a cute laugh and next thing you know you're betraying the person you trusted the most or dragged along in an empty relationship full of empty promises lmao
Anyways, continuing:
His relationship with Armando is based on fun and usefulness. They both start as very cruel men who just use women and discard them, feeling nothing towards them and making fun of them/ their intimacy behind their backs. (Ex. When Betty is showing Mario about how she tranfered Armando's phonebook to the computer, and the name of a woman comes up, and both Mario and Armando start joking about Armando having "voice lessons" with her while they start mockingly moaning in a female voice)
They both lacked morals and that's why Mario had fun with Armando, because they were partners in crime. They could be cruel in front of each other and have fun with it. Whatever attempt Armando made to change and be a better man, Mario knew it was empty (ex. When he says he won'tcheat any more on Marcela right after the engagement, just to end up going with Claudia Bosch as soon as Mario suggested it).
Armando disapproved some of Mario's behaviors (like him going for vulnerable women, which already set the ground for Armando's later moral development) but it wasn't a big deal. Once Armando starts to actually develop a firm moral stance, change, and now cares about the damage he's causing to women (Betty, Marcela, Alejandra), Mario finds it weird and offputting ans boring. Armando is no longer fun to be around, and is, instead, actually being a hinderance to Mario's fun (ex. When Mario wants to be with Alejandra and Armando forbids him), and also a moodkiller (ex. When Mario is reading Betty's diary, he looks interested, relaxed, he's finding it amusing and even says thay Betty writes wrll, then Armando comes in and the whoel fight starts).
Additionally, Mario benefited grratly from that friendship. When Armando was a future President and then President, Mario had his position as VP secured. After everything falls apart, Mario still has skin in the game as he continues being owner of a small percentage of Ecomoda, so it's still in his best interest to save it, but his friendship with Armando is no longer useful as he's now desitute. This is when Mario goes on to full cruel mode. He doesn't even seem to care that much that Armando literally tried to kill himself. His supposed best friend was so down that tried to kill himself in a very brutal and slow way with full intention to feel every last moment of pain trying to pay for what he did, and Mario barely cares. He actively contribjtes further to Armando's emotional pain by casually asking if perhaps the woman thay Armando is fully in love with never actually loved him at all.
So yeah, I think Calderón had good chemistry with Armando (they're super fun and entertaining to see together! God knows I laughed the hardest with Calderón's scenes)x but I don't see love there because love is beautiful, gentle, and selfless. Mario wanted fun and cared not for Armando or anyone else. I truly don't see Mario as capable of feeling true love, lmao
2. I don't like the ship, either. I think it would be just as toxic as Armando/Marcela
Armando is a very wild, emotional, and pretty brutal man. He is a whole ass storm lmao and he needs proper calm to be able to flourish his good side and actually be a good. That's why he fits with Betty so well, because she's calm and calculative and soft and tender and happy.
Mario may seem calm and happy, but he's none of these really. He's calm not because he has great control over himself and is able to handle emotions in a mature way, he's calm because he doesn't care ans has to keep a facade in front of everyone all the time (which is why when Armando hits him in front of everyone Mario doesn't even pay the slightless attention to him and his speech, all his attention is to the cuartel and everyone watching, because thay's the only thing he truly cares about: his image. This is also why after it's lost, he truly leaves.) He's also not happy, he's funny and makes fun of everything and everyone because he doesn't care and probably finds feelings, guilt and empathy a laughable matter (especially if it's towards women). This is seen to infuriate Armando throughout the novela lol in comparison, Betty's true happiness and calmness brings him peace that allows him to reflect and think his actions through instead of just reacting on instinct to put his barriers up (ex. The first collection with the bad fabrics. When everything is calm and Betty offers support, Armando actually allows himself to wonder if he's doing the right thing instead of just aggressively defend his position).
Mario is also very dismissive of Armando's emotions, very similar to how Marcela does it. Neither of them really care about him but rather how his behavior will affect them (Marcela: how it'd affect the engagement/ Mario: how it'd affect Ecomoda, aka his source of income). Some examples of this dismissiveness are like how Mario constantly tells him to suck up his guilt and move on or how he needs to marry Marcela even though they barely stand each other.
Mario is also deeply allergic to commitment lol Armando actually wanted a commited love and a traditional family (marriagex children) while that's what Mario despises the most. There would be lots of cheating and insecurity on that relationship, ans we all know how Armando handles that when he's in love lmao
Anyways I think I already wrote too much lmao I could make a whole essay in this topic fr, but you get the idea lmao
Sorry if this isn't the answer you would have liked! I still loved the question because I've been wanting to talk about those two for ages but couldn't bring myself to do it! ❤️

The Outer Realms Teaser: Dying is Complicated (Alternate Title: Mirrors and Reflections)
Summary: Ink has started to notice something wrong with the Multiverse, and has tried to keep it from being seen by Dream. However, something unexpected happened, and now he has run to the only person he can think of to talk to. Someone who would understand. Error.
There were many things that Ink could admit to himself. Many. Many he didn’t like to acknowledge but had to in order to keep up his work that was his survival. Many that he had no problems with. But this… This was a problem to the highest degree. A degree he’d say he feared if fear was an emotion he had no choice but to have. But he didn’t have emotions quite like everyone else. He didn’t have emotions, not without his paints.
Ink had to admit this when he finally found Error. His Error.
“The creators are a dying sepecies.” Ink said sitting down next to Error.
“I figured. It's about time.” Error huffed. The portal he used to watch Undernovella from was nothing but static. “It tore itself apart before anything got good.”
“Someone that looked a lot like you showed up and,..” Ink shook his head, he didn’t see the logic of anything anymore. “My paints are running dry. I can’t… feel much of anything anymore without risking draining the rest of them.”
Error rolled his eyelights. “It was bound to happen. How many anomalies tore themselves apart over the years… It wasn’t like they stood a chance against themselves. It’s why I’ve stopped to watch instead.”
“I just don’t know why…” Ink mumbled, “Every creation was so different and fascinating, then many creators abandoned them, then the AUs became repetitive or strange copies of those first ones, and then they just… stopped. I've been trying to keep Dream from noticing because with so little AUs—”
“Nightmare would have an easier time finding him?” Error huffed.
“Mmhm…” Ink solemnly nodded, then pulled his knees to his chest. “Got any idea why the creators did all this?”
Error shook his head, “Nah, but I do have a small theory.”
“What's that?”
“Infighting.” Error said simply, “They've been arguing with each other, fighting for control over the AUs, so the initial creator would be attacked, chased out, and those who take control think they can do a better job only to find they're already doing a sucky job.”
“That is so… illogical though.” Ink stated, burying his head into his knees.
“It’s foolish, all of this was destined to be destroyed one way or another.” Error laid down onto the ground, “You, me, everything here, even Dream and Nightmare themselves are destined to all fail in everything we did. Destruction and nothingness are inevitable.”
“There has to be a way to get everything back to the way it was before…” Ink said. “But… I can’t–”
“You're gonna drive yourself crazy thinking about it.” Error said bluntly, “In the state you’re in now, you either take what's left of those paints you have left and make it worse, or you will yourself to act without them. Either way, squidhead, it's a lose-lose situation..”
Ink shook his head. He knew Error was right. He didn’t have much else left. He looked at his scarf and read many of the things he wrote down. Warnings for himself, travel diaries, list of people’s names, fun activities, definitions of words. Why emotions were important. Why he had to fight for the creators. “I don’t want to become a husk.”
“And I’d rather not die.” Error sat up, “But it’s not like we have a choice in the matter.”
“Why would the creators do this?” Ink asked.
“Hell if I know.” Error shrugged, “It’s not like you can convince them. It’s not like we can stop them. It could be a dominance thing, or a power trip, who knows.”
There was a long silence between the destroyer and painter, only for Ink to suddenly ask, “What is it like?”
“Hm?”
“Having emotion. What is it like having it, naturally?”
Error seemed surprised by the question, he thought about it as he stared into what used to be Undernovella, “It depends. Sometimes I envy you, wishing I didn’t feel anything. Other times, it can be euphoric. Heaven.” he turned to Ink, “The best way I can put it for you is, it can be painful, like every bone being broken for no reason. Other times, it can be those days where you are able to just lay down on the softest bed you can think of. Every joint relaxing and resting. No pain. Just comfort.”
Ink nodded, “That sounds complicated… Wonderful but complicated.”
“It is.”
“Do you think the creators know what they're doing?” Ink asked.
Error hummed in thought for a second before nodding, “Yes and no.”
“So there could be a chance they’re hurting eachother?”
“I wouldn't call it a chance, Ink, they've been doing it since day one,” Error stated in a fit of manic giggling.
Ink gave him a blank look. “But none of this makes sense.”
“What do you mean?”
“Every single AU has the exact same message,” Ink stated, “Every single one opposes genocide and murder. And yet… Yet the creators did all of this.” he gestured to the space around them, “They are destroying everything, hurting themselves and each other. Why?”
Ink looked to Error for an answer but the glitch didn’t say anything. He couldn’t.
The creators were killing off their own species, destroying each other the same way the player did in every single genocide route, every other neutral route, as they were the ones with the worst outcomes for each AU. Horrortale, Dusttale, and Something New, they all showed the destruction they caused. But the creators had learned nothing. Even Error’s story was not something that was generally processed as it was supposed to, but it was understood that it was tragic and destructive nonetheless.
“Every universe holds the same morals, but the creators themselves never learned from them.” Ink held his head and curled up and mumbled, “I’m going to die, and there is nothing I can do…”
Error glared. Not at Ink, but at the pain his friend had to carry. He was tempted to reach out to Ink, knowing that the artist, in his possible last moments, would appreciate the gesture, but he knew neither of them could handle such a thing. Not now. Error put a hand to his scarf and just fidgeted with it.
He knew Ink loved the creators, admired them. But they didn’t give a shit. They never did.

I had this scrapped virian AU from last year when I was still roleplaying and my friend told me to post it after I just showed them recently.
According to the google doc I wrote it in, it was called “Sacred Barrier”. So here’s that. It’s mostly just little notes and not so much a solid plot but you get it.
SACRED BARRIER.
— dark academia ig??
— set in a time where witches (and the occult in general) were hated, hunted, and burned.
VIOLET.
— violet is a mysterious one. introverted, quiet, shy, and self isolates to ensure her secret is hidden well. in a world where the occult is antagonized, hunted, and executed, violet has powers. a descendant of the super humans before her. invisibility, and powerful telekinetic force fields.
— despite her fears of being seen as a witch, she often carelessly uses her invisibility, with the assumption that no one would see her. she’s gotten comfortable with assuming that she’s well hidden in the shadows.
— violet has a goal, which is to find out anything she can about her occult background. of course, the academy’s library would have some books about them, but she refuses to accept that her kind have only ever been “evil”. she believes that the world turned the tables against them somehow, that humans are hiding the real story. (don’t ask me what “the real story” is rn lmao).
— violet has a bit of a vendetta against humans for the above reason.
— piggyback: violet believes some of her kind might still be out there, but the chances slim. still she hopes.
— like Hermione, she was raised by mortals, humans, muggles even, you get it. bonus points if they’re witch-hunters!
— she always got the notion that /someone/ was watching her, or somehow knew about her secrets. but she assumes it’s just paranoia.
— might give her other powers for this au. to keep it interesting, and for funsies. but idk
alternative idea, might not be used: if i don’t give her more powers, maybe there were different kinds of witches. and because she has force fields, maybe she’s a witch of protection, given not even lava could get through her barriers. but i might give her other powers anyway idk yet
— completely random but definitely plays the violin or viola. probably plays in an empty hallways so it’ll echo.
VARIAN.
• varian is an outcast himself, spends a lot of his time in the academy’s laboratory. the lab is reserved especially for him at a certain time of the day, on account that he was recommended for his grades, unique talent, and level of skill on the subject for his age. no, that unfortunately doesn’t make him a highly respected figure. if anything, he’s disliked for being too privileged, favored, or a kiss-ass. of course, he does have to leave the lab at some point, as it is used by other students during the day.
• while most don’t take notice to violet’s existence, considering she’s invisible half the time, varian has. and made note of apparently seeing her “vanish” from time to time. he suspects she has inhuman abilities, but isn’t 100% sure due to his lack of sleep.
• varian doesn’t antagonize witches like most of the population seems to. he’s very interested in the occult, and envies those who lived before him, as they got to live amongst an abundance of witches in their time. to his dismay, their kind were burned at the stake. the possibility of violet being the very thing he yearns to look into, motivates him to study her from afar to be sure of himself.
• alternative: varian /does/ antagonize witches, much like most of the population. after his first time witnessing violet vanish entirely, he was keen on keeping an eye on her to confirm his theories. as well as possibly discover what other abilities she has.
• setting aside, or adding onto varian’s curiosity about the occult; varian has always been curious about the streak in his hair that he was born with, as well as the sudden disappearance of his mother. after seeing violet’s alleged powers, he wonders if she could somehow be connected, somehow be a piece he’d been missing. witches seemed to have been erased from the world, and as far as he knows, violet is the only one left. (he is most likely a witch/wizard himself).
• let’s say violet manages to touch the streak in varian’s hair. it’d be kinda cool if that triggered something. maybe something useful to them, maybe not. either they see something or even just hear something, voices most likely, voices from the past.
• new thought: if varian used to be a skeptic, and didn’t even believe in the existence of witches.
