It's a blessing and a relief! I adore all my characters, but I made Romanus the main character for a reason. Not Alessa or Hadrian, nor the Pirate or Neia — although, admittedly, a Neia story could be pretty cool. A fallen angel burned at the stake who wakes up from death.

I want to tell all of the ROs stories, but it's Romanus I want to show the most. That's why I picked them as the protagonists, and I'm just glad that people are enjoying stepping into their shoes.

I call this the Worlds Peerless Beauty AU

It all started because the developers of YGRASILL decide "let's have a beauty contest!" In which players voted for who they think is either the most attractive or beautiful player avatar

Ainz Ooal Gown to not be undone come together and start to brainstorm who to put

At first they think of Bukubukushagama because she has the voice , then they wake up and remember that most people wouldn't find a pink slime attractive

The they go through the other fem presenting members and well ...

Yamaiko looks like she will pummel someone to the ground

And the less said about Ankoro Mocchi Mochi the better

Then Peroroncino has the bright idea to put Momo-can , because everyone loves him

To Momonga dismay everyone else in the guild agrees , so majority vote

And so Ainz Ooal Gown goes head first and full steam into putting Momonga out there

By the time the voting came almost everyone knew that Momonga the adorable skeleton is more than just the guild leader of Ainz Ooal Gown

And say what you will about YGRASILL player being Heteromorphphobic but even they can agree that a skeleton getting the title of Worlds Peerless Beauty would be hilarious

And so in parts doo to players :

- actually falling for Momonga

- being a monster fucker

- being a troll

- being the only contestants most people recognize

Momonga got the title in a rather big majority vote (the second place had close to 3x less votes)

The title allows for a rare class called Peerless Beauty that's kinda overpowered , and because they are Ainz Ooal Gown they start to abuse it (the fact it allows Momonga to charm even otherwise not possible character is a BIG bonus)

But times goes on

And then we get the start of the story

Except now you have Ainz not only as the undisputed ruler of Nazarick but also as the undisputedly most beautiful thing there is

Because the Carne Village situation ? He got the villagers blushing , the enemy attackers blushing , Gazef blushing , Gazef's men blushing and the Sunlight Scripture blushing . And they all are blushing like it's a sport . His mere presence makes people questioning either their sexuality, morality or sense of beauty

Being Momon (with the armor and it's dampening effect) only somewhat negates that , more specifically it just makes it so people need to either look closer or be around him more to get the same effect . Remember the scout dude that made a rude comment about Ainz's aperance ? Yeah here he says that Nabe is beautiful in a cold , exotic and unique to see way , while Momon has a warm everyday type of beauty that slowly but steadily grows on you . And Evil Eye is even more lovesick that canon

Ad the moment the mask comes of is when people are hit the hardest :

Jirchiv is even more convinced that Ainz is GOD (he is probably gonna convert soon)(he is also one of the only people NOT having a sexuality crisis because he knows what he is , that being sapiosexual)

Neia is even more sure Ainz is GOD and acts as such (the religion is spreading even quicker)(Neia is also one of the only other people who aren't having a sexuality crisis over Ainz ,because she had her's from Shizu)

The Elf King wants to make babies (and is getting his ass beat)(power hungry madman what can you do ?)

Rener is having a breakdown because she thought she only liked Climb that way and is having a sexuality crisis

Climb is going through a sexuality crisis of his own because he thought he only had feelings for Rener

Zaryusu and Crusch are not only also in a sexuality crisis but are also contemplating opening their marriage to also include Lord Ainz if he so wishes

Brain is having his second biggest sexuality crisis (the first was from Gazef , so he knew he liked powerful men what he just didn't know was that he liked powerful men even and if they are skeletons)

Filip (being an idiot) thought that Ainz had a crush on him and decided to do all that (for some no name noble) . Filip decide he quite likes both him and Albedo and wouldn't mind having her as their shared mistress (he is getting send to Neuronist for the blasphemy he committed)

Remedios thinks Ainz is even extra evil because he is that beautiful

Zanac is like "I talked to GOD , and he is a really cool and down to earth guy" , granted he died but still got the respect of both the world strongest and most beautiful person and in just one conversation

Platinum Dragon Lord is contemplating kidnapping Ainz(and maybe taking him as his bride) and keeping him in his castles like he is a dragon from a fairy tale (dragons kind inborn skill to be able to judge how much something cost are going overdrive trying to calculate how beautiful Ainz is)

One of the fun parts in this is that people who wouldn't be attracted to him sexuality won't be attracted they just see him as someone extremely beautiful , and if someone argues let me ask you . Do you get horny while watching a sunset ?

I'm gonna answer BOTH, because I adore both of these questions and can't decide between them!

What AU for your story do you think would be interesting to explore?

I have written fanfiction - I, err, have three AO3 accounts. le_criminel_consultation, the_inkwell_variable, and phantomkit! I really need to link them to my account... ANYWAY NOT RELEVANT

I think an interesting AU for From Matcha to Murder would be an inverse of perspectives - instead of following Amara as she tries to solve the case and clear her name, we follow Sheriff Kain as he tries to gather the evidence to prove that she did indeed do it! Show the perspectives of other characters as he interviews them, especially the ones that don't like Amara much... that would be a lot of fun, I think!

Another AU that I've been DYING to try out is, instead of Neia getting kidnapped and rehabilitated by Conrad and the Elves of Mirkwood... Conrad getting kidnapped and corrupted by Dol Guldur. He's a great assassin, they'd a hundred percent try to warp him to their side. And Neia, of course, being the sweetheart that she is (who isn't broken yet by the cruelties of the world she is trapped in) would absolutely try to be his friend and help him out instead of trying to kill him all the time. UGGGGH THAT WOULD BE SO MUCH FUNNNN

Neia would want to study Middle Earth history. She'd be obsessed with studying the past to see why and how everything turned out the way it did. She'd also minor in plant biology - she's a gardener at heart, she would LOVE LOVE LOVE studying how plants work!

Hendryk, Amara's twin brother, would study business. He loves their little tea shop and wants nothing more (besides his sister's happiness) than to see it succeed. That requires a knowledge of business - and probably accounting, to be honest, but he's not a math guy. Hates the stuff. Why'd they add LETTERS

As many know but not everyone, Jillian originally came to be to participate in @zosa95 's Haunted Hookups Bachelor Challenge . She is the first sim I've ever created for someone else's challenge. She came close to winning but I felt she wasn't done afterwards. I want her to be happy!

I honestly tried to make Jillian look different than the sims I normally create. Yes, she has the red hair I'm partial to (there's not enough red heads IMO!), but I went with a different nose, different body shape etc than I normally do. Maybe others don't see the differences but I do.

She genuinely wants to love Dakota. I think deep down she does, she's just gun shy due to her past (she loved Branson but he's totally meant to be with Neia). While Dakota is also gun shy due to loosing Vera's heart to Caleb.

She has parents, Garrett and Denise. Also a younger brother, Andrew. Most of the time when I create a sim, they just kind of...leave their family behind? Not Jillian, she loves her family!

Hadrian and Alessa, even Neia, are right there, and all i can think about is his dumb little face and the way he begged romanus not to let him die. Honestly the interactions between a sarcastic mc and rafael during the interregation scene were some of my faves in the book, i can't wait to bully him into a loving relationship in book 2 and 3

The part where he begged Romanus to live was when I decided he'd be a romance option. I loved it that much. The whole interrogation afterward only solidified that decision.

I know there's a whole tag of me joking that I didn't like the rat bastard, but I think it's obvious I always liked Rafael a lot. But now that I'm finally writing him in the game, I can say that I absolutely adore him. He's such a blast to write. I love every time he's on a scene. 😊

I can't wait for you all to experience his romance or friendship route. One of his scenes at the end of the book will probably be one of my favorites of the sequel, character-wise.

Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year! Plus it brings spooky season! (Halloween.) As much as I would love to talk about fall and all it's glory I wanted to clear something up.

So on the CoG forums I was discussing with some other forum users about the ROs in the Rose. Someone asked who we could romance in Book 1. I replied with Hadrian and Alessa. I told them they'd be able to flirt with everyone else just not start a romance with anyone else till book 2. I told them that the only people you could romance in book 1 was our dearest and most beloveds Hadrian and Alessa.

Another user chimed in and disagreed with my statement saying that you could start a romance with the other characters in book 1. I countered with that was incorrect. That the other ROs will remember you but you couldn't do anything beyond flirt. I just wanted to clear this up to avoid future confusion. So for me to say that you can only truly romance Hadrian and Alessa in book 1 is that correct? I think I can see the other user's perspective. It may seem like you're sparking something with the flirting with the other ROs because you're. But it's not a "main RO" till book 2 correct?

I adore the fall! My favorite season used to be the summer because it meant I was free from school 😄 but lately, the summers have been getting hotter and hotter, and now I almost dread it. So, Autumn is my new darling. I can't wait for October.

As for your question… hum. Technically, it's true that the ones you can officially start a romance with are Hadrian and Alessa, but, in my mind, as the writer, you can definitely start a romance with some others. Lance can have a bunch of scenes depending on your choices, and both Ysabella and Alain will vary greatly depending on how you respond to their advances.

Neia and the Pirate will have completely different reactions to you when you officially meet them in Book Two if you flirted with them — especially Neia since she got so close to you.

Rafael is the only one that I consider almost not started — although there is one choice you can pick that already has… different subtleties. It's the choice to lean really close to his face and call him a bastard as you're saying goodbye.

So, yes, I can see why someone would think you initiated a romance with some of the characters — because you did. You're not locked, of course, there's no relationship to speak of, but there is something.

The person on the forum wasn't wrong, in my opinion. If they felt like they started a romance with a character, then I wouldn't say their feeling isn't valid. 🤔

I love Hadrian and Alessa so much and their interactions. Like Alessa is just so fricking cool yet she can be so fricking cute. Hadrian is just swoonworthy(yes I said swoonworthy) and downright adorable. I want to squish them into a hug like a huge fricking group hug.

I love writing their interactions! The more characters a scene has, the harder it is to write it — especially when it comes to IF. It's very hard, sometimes, to strike a balance between the flow of a conversation and providing opportunities for you, the player, to participate and have your say. It's actually harder to pull off when you're not the one guiding the discussion but are listening to something another character is saying.

But I can never tire of the banter between Romanus, Hadrian, and Alessa. ♡

As the cast keeps growing in this second book, I'm even more challenged, but… I'm having so much fun! Throwing Lance, Raf, the twin Theers, the Pirate, and Neia into the mix is going to be glorious 😋

Shipping rant (Jeia/Formciotti, Niknate/Jelso, & Neia/Jeric)

I ADORE ED & JL. ED was actually what got me to watch T7S from the beginning (first ep I ever watched was Kiss Of Death (I wanted to see JK’s drama) and ED shined for me) & JL has been my otp ever since my first watch and I will forever defend them.

JK & NN have both worked their way into my heart. I thought I’d ship JK from what I knew, but then I didn’t because of all the fighting and cheating and all that. But @burkelso is who got me to see them in a more positive light, and while I still have a lot of issues with their canon story (and seeing them in s1-2 really squeak me out knowing that MK is 14-15 and AK is 19-20), there are a lot more cute moments with them than I thought and there was potential for them to be a good couple.

NN, my journey with them is complicated to say the least. I thought they were sweet on my first watch, but they also rubbed me the wrong way, and there was the cheating. And then I ended up really hating them for a while and thought Nikki could do better and that Nate couldn’t handle her ambition and mostly saw her as a hot girl who wanted to fuck him, but then rewatching Free Leia made me realize that there was potential but the writers gave them the worst aspects of Jelso. But I still thought they had cute moments later on, and I even made edits for them. I still wanted them to break up tho don’t get it twisted lmao.

And I think I’ve talked enough about part 2 and 3 lmaooo.

Basically, these pairings are pretty deep in my heart along with GN and JH.

But…

I do have a huge soft spot for NL and JE and really love those pairings. In another life, they would’ve been epic imo. NL, I’ve talked about why I don’t think they work in canon, but I still really love them and I think with good writing and development, they would’ve been epic. And I would love if they had more scenes because not only would we see more of their dynamic, we’d get more material for fanfic.

JE also just had my heart because I love enemies to lovers dynamics and I truly believe Jackie and Eric a lot more similar than they realize. But they also have opposite qualities that will balance each other out that I wish NL also had. Jackie can call Eric out on some of his old fashioned beliefs and encourage him to be more assertive, while Eric can challenge Jackie to think (like Hyde) and be a kinder person. This meta from @einsteinsugly sums it up for me.

In another life, I truly believe that JE and NL would’ve been amazing endgames. And I’m always down to write and read fics for them.
