OK MORE SERIOUS ANSWER, I like how he combines a lot of elements from my existing favorites. He's got:

The foul mouth swagger of Silvio, plus all the moneyyyyy. There's something sexy about that big business brain, the dealmaker.

The semi-disdain towards our sheltered, looks-for-the-good-in-things MC of Faust (along with the desire to 'teach' her that the world is actually a horrible ugly place but then the actual thought of her realizing that hits him and he's like wait no actually DNW)

The sadistic bend of Kagetoki in the way he zeroed in on her as a subby person - he's not convinced but he def suspects (and it clearly delights him) And he has Plans to capitalize on it if given half the chance, methinks.

His vicious streak reminds me of Kanetsugu when he goes unhinged and I kinda love that >.> In fiction give me a man that'll curb stomp another just for daring to touch you. You know if someone so much as said a single bad word about you Jude would cut their tongue out without blinking. And AGAIN IN FICTION that's pretty hot

He's got the voracious reading appetite of my SLBP boo Mitsunari, always striving to improve himself, and the absolute vitriol he and Mitsunari can spew makes me laugh.

But as for his own PERSONAL self, free of the shadow of others...I really love his feel of 'honor among thieves' and that while he'll absolutely do morally questionable things he will never break his word once given. Death before dishonor. And he expects that same honor and integrity of others. The hints we've gotten regarding his absolute loathing of those whose take advantage of the poor, the destitute, and especially those who force women into sex work. He's cruel and merciless but only in an EAT THE RICH way - fuck those with privilege who lord it over others.

He'll sneer at the idea of love and mushy shit but I have the very strong feeling that once you've won him over Jude would be the ultimate ride or die of any cybird suitor. I'm really intrigued by his backstory and I'm hoping we have a true rags-to-riches sort of tale that really came into existence with the boom of the Industrial revolution...and all the questionable twists and turns a rise like that has to take.

so the whole reason this au was born was because i thought about a modern au where viserys dies, and all his money, inheritance, etc, was never properly discussed. his will was never updated after aemma’s funeral so the only one who gets anything is rhaenyra— money, the targs famous company, any proprieties, rhaenyra gets it all, while alicent and her children are left with pretty much nothing except for the targaryen family home, as an act of goodwill by rhaenyra. the hightowers used to be wealthy by buying/selling real estate but the company suffered uh….. a huge scandal (let’s say gwayne hightower was arrested several times) and their money isn’t enough for them to keep living the comfortable life they once had, and soon the horror begins = aegon almost cries when alicent tells him he should get a job.

so otto does his magic and convinces alicent that the best prospect for aemond (one-eyed, but an omega nonetheless) is marrying one of rhaenyra’s oldest sons because both will have a more than decent inheritance and therefore, moneyyyyy. westeros still has some families with pretty old-fashioned traditions, so it’s alicent as his mother who approaches rhaenyra with the proposal. surprise surprise, rhaenyra declines almost immediately because she (very rightfully) thinks that aemond will try and murder either of her sons as soon as they’re married, all too resentful for his eye. alicent shamelessly lies (he would never do that!!! he’s such a decent, kind, devoted omega!!!! and— and he cooks so well!!!) and that’s how aemond finds himself in a ‘how to be a good omega’ course, imparted at the local clinic.

they teach him the basics— how to cook, how to clean, how to please their spouses. aemond thinks it’s all bullshit— but, hey, they’re right when they say that your mate should be your top priority. and, well, they are also right when they say that if you love someone, you would be devoted to them. of course i would cook for my spouse!!! they must be so tired after work…

so who knew? it actually works. next time alicent meets rhaenyra, she shows her what a good omega her son is— aemond cooks for them, wears something that creepily looks like something alicent would’ve worn in her youth, and is all gentle smiles and soft movements. only that rhaenyra did not go alone to their meeting. jace and luke join just in time to appreciate the changes in their uncle, and now it’s not who will marry him, but when will they marry him. they’re brothers, after all— they’re shared everything all their lives. this should not be different.

now, what you actually asked (lmao! got a little carried away!) aemond’s siblings are confused. lemme elaborate:

aegon thought aemond was messing with him the first time he said he had to leave early from their night out to cook lucerys dinner. his jaw dropped when aemond also told him he could not drink any alcohol because jacaerys told him not to. don’t get him wrong, he’s glad aemond isn’t the same asshole he used to be, but now talking to him feels weird. his baby brother won’t go anywhere unless his husbands are aware. he won’t wear anything they don’t approve of. and every time aegon tries to make him see how unreasonable his lifestyle is, aemond will fight until aegon drops it. whatever. as long as he’s happy, i guess.

helaena tries to argue on that as well— she insists aemond should have his own say in his life, but her comments are softly spoken, so aemond just chuckles and disregards everything she says. he pats her head, smiling all condescending because she’s a beta, and she wouldn’t understand. after a while, helaena gives up, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t grimace when aemond takes his coat off and she can see his whole neck and wrists covered in bruises and finger marks.

now… daeron is complicated, because he still feels some of the rage aemond shared with him when the eye incident happened. at first, he glares at jace and luke at family gatherings and tells them they would never deserve his brother, and he tries convincing aemond to get a divorce as soon as he gets his hands in some of their money, but aemond looks truly concerned and explains that the past is all behind, daeron. we should not let ourselves rot with resentment, and so daeron tunes the comments off, although he still glares at the velaryon boys.

either way, their acceptance on their marriage grows a bit when jace and luke treat them for sevenmas— they get aegon and helaena an all-included trip to pentos for an entire month on the most luxurious hotel that could possibly exist, while their children get so many toys that helaena doubts they will fit all in their room. and daeron, who is now old enough to drive, gets his first car! i meaaan, they can’t be that bad, can they?

Almost 1 year ago I lost my baby dog, Leo. He was old even if I call him “my baby”, he was 15 and his death was something very natural but it took me time to accept it, I still havent totally accepted it, we literally grew up together, he was and still is an important part of my life so every time somebody asks if I have a pet I can’t just forget him and not mention him. Yes I had that angel and I still have him inside my heart. But we also have our girl Freya now, she just turned 1 year old two months ago, she is a baby for real. I fell in love with her from the first time she walked in our house I mean I never found it hard to love a dog anyway I am an 100% dog person. So yeah, I have these 2 dog babies in my life and I feel more than lucky and thankful for that. Growing up with a dog is a wonderful gift.

What? Play what? The only gymnastic related I have ever done is going up the stairs and exercising on my stationary bike. I used to go jogging with my friends when I was still a school student but it mostly felt like a joking than jogging.

First of all I’m gonna agree with @emperor-draygon about sleeping and eating as a hobby. But I love anything music related, I sometimes play my classic guitar (I’m not very good tho I need exercise ugh),I listen to music, I search for new music etc. I also love pastry making but it’s not something you can do daily lol

I don’t really know what I wanna do in my life lol I’m studying engineering, I’m an energy major and I really love the idea of working in renewable sources of energy but I don’t know I love the idea of biomedical technology too (it mostly uses electronic technologies and I’m not so into these as I’m majoring in energy but there is always time and space for improvement) or this or that, yeah generally I’m not sure what I wanna do with my future degree lol but one of my dreams was always to be a radio producer or have my very own rock/jazz bar (that’s too much of a dream lol it needs moneyyyyy) and yeah do something including music you know. Work For Me Chapter 5: Prospects

​You. In M’Baku’s house, in his bed, wearing nothing but his shirt. Shit. You could hardly process your shame and bewilderment because your head was pounding so painfully. You groggily scanned the room for your clothes. The room was in perfect order, nothing out of place, not even a neatly folded pile of your clothes. Where were they? And what happened last night? The last thing you remembered was Cosmos and Imani.

​You perked up. Imani! She did this, didn’t she? You were going to call her and give her an earful….except you couldn’t find your phone. You cursed. Suddenly, you heard all-too-familiar footsteps (foot stomps) climbing the stairs. You squeaked and buried your head under the blankets.

​You listened intently as you heard M’Baku enter the room and approach the bed. You pulled a hand to your mouth to quiet your breathing. It seemed like three eternities passed as M’Baku stood over the bed, breathing heavily through his nostrils, the smell of his cologne seeping through the covers. Finally, you heard the sound of him setting something down on the nightstand and quietly leave the room.

​Waiting until the coast was definitely clear, you peeked from under the covers and at the nightstand. He left a club soda, two Advil pills, and your phone. On the lounge chair next to the bed, your clothes had been presumably washed, dried and folded. First by your leg, then your arm, then the rest of your body you dragged yourself out of bed. You downed the medicine and the club soda and tried your phone. Dead. Of Course. You pulled on last night’s dress and slipped your feet into last night’s shoes. You folded M’Baku’s shirt and placed it where your clothes had been. Before you left, you embarrassingly pulled the covers up and made the bed.

Peeking over the staircase, you made sure no one was around, then you hurriedly bounded down the stairs. Stopping at the bottom, you listened intently. Nothing. You were going to make a break for the door. In true Pink Panther style, you crept towards the entrance.

“Y/N.” You froze. Damn it. You turned slowly, M’Baku stood in the Living Room, watching you with an arched eyebrow. Next to him, stood Kuhle, eyes widened in a furious glare.

“What the hell is she doing here, Baku?!?” Kuhle hissed. You blinked, you could ask her the same. M’Baku rolled his eyes.

“She left me a voicemail last night and asked me to pick her up. That’s all.” M’Baku answered flatly. Your heart sank into your stomach. You left him a voicemail? You hoped you didn’t say anything too embarrassing. As if you didn’t feel enough guilt before.

“I should go…” You murmured quietly.

“I think you should.” Kuhle said coldly.

“There’s a cab outside waiting for you.” M’Baku said. You hesitated for a second, looking at M’Baku. There was no way you could come back from this, you ruined everything. You thought you saw M’Baku’s eyes change, just for a second. If anything was there, it was gone as Kuhle looked at you incredulously.

“Hello? Cab? Outside?” She dismissed you with a wave. M’Baku did nothing. You turned slowly and opened the door, a rush of cold air hitting your skin. As promised, a yellow cab waited for you at the end of the steps. As you closed the door, you could hear the sounds of M’Baku and Kuhle fighting.

Jumping into your bed was the best thing that had happened to you all morning. You sighed, stuffing your face into the pillow. After deciding that suffocation wouldn’t help your situation, you pulled your head from your bed and rolled over, plugging your charger into your phone. You wondered why it bothered you so much that Kuhle was there. Other than the fact that she was a vicious bitch, what business could she possibly have there? Although they weren’t exactly divorced yet, they were still separated. Did she forget something at the house? Was she just there to bother M’Baku? Were they...getting back together? Something tugged in your chest as you mulled over the last thought. But why?

Suddenly, your phone started buzzing. Over and over, nonstop. You unlocked it and gasped. It was dozens of texts, calls, and emails from Imani, your other friends and family. They all kept repeating the same name. Ry, Ry, Ry. You scrolled down your texts and saw his name again, this text actually being from him. It was an image. You cautiously opened it.

It was a picture of him and the girl he was having an affair with, all dressed up. The caption below read, RYAN’S ART EXHIBIT. In the background of the picture, you saw dozens of paintings. Paintings that were definitely familiar. Because you and Ry had worked on them...TOGETHER. And he was going to put on an exhibit for YOUR paintings that YOU had worked hard on? Excuse me? Excuse me?

“EXCUSE ME??” You said aloud. You immediately dialed Ry’s number. It rung twice, then went straight to voicemail. Screaming in exasperation. You called again. It rung once, then went to voicemail. The third time you tried, it didn’t ring at all. You were ready to leave a NASTY voicemail, when you got a text. It was from Ry.

-You told me to get all my stuff out, remember? You threw out those paintings and said they were mine, so I’m going to sell them like they’re mine. Have a nice life :)-

Fury traveled from your toes and straight up into your throat. Your hands shook and your jaw clenched. There was no way that you could let Ry win. You’d have to be on your A- game now. You’d have to make a career out of this job, so you could show Ry that it wasn’t a lost cause.

M’Baku did not mention your….unfortunate incident the next work day and you preferred it that way. Besides, with the way you were working it was like it had never happened. You finished your reports early, answered all of his emails, moved around his schedule thrice to benefit him, and successfully steered him through three meetings without spilling water on anyone. You were ahead of the game, because you had to be. One game you couldn’t conquer, however, was the dating game.

“Ooh, pick that one! Swipe right! Swipe right!” Imani peeked over your shoulder, too close for comfort staring at your Tinder screen. You both were in the lunchroom. She was enjoying cheese pizza and breadsticks, while you were munching on grilled cheese and veggies. You shook your head.

“No, his forehead is too big.” You said between bites. Imani groaned.

“Forehead? The last one you said his hairline was too close to his eyebrows and the one before THAT you said his teeth were too big. You know what I’m thinking? I’m thinking you’re just too scared to make a choice because you’re not ready to be in the game again.”

You rolled your eyes. “Girl please, I just want someone I like, and I don’t like ANY of these dudes.” Imani snatched the phone from your hand, ignoring your ‘HEY!” and brushing off your hands. She started swiping right. “Imaniiii! Stop!!”

“Oh, look! A match!” Imani yelled. You snatched your phone back and took a look at your match. He was….cute, actually. Business suit in his main photo, tropical selfie in the next photo, holding a puppy, rock climbing. He seemed like your type. He immediately messaged you.

THIS IS GONNA BE VERY VERY LONG. But Hopefully informative lol. I’m not amazing at this game, so if any of you have suggestions on how to play, reply to this post so we can make the ultimate guide lol. ♡ 

User @notsoslimshady recently asked me about Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life - they're pretty stuck on how to play it and I can see why! When this game is so much different from the previous games, it can be quite hard to adjust to especially with the pressure of time behind your back, not to mention theres hardly any instructions on how to play, and everyday can seem quite mundane if you've got no routine ... Each and every Harvest Moon game no matter which one can be played how you want. However, with this one, the games story changes in the decisions you make. e.g. if you don't get married in chapter 1 the game automatically stops and you have to start again ... fun lol. In simple terms, your main purpose in this game is to achieve the best life possible. But how do you do this when there is little instruction apart from help your fathers farm grow? Most of this game, in my opinion, should be supported by a guide because theres so many random events, and so many career paths your child can take, and SO MANY ITEMS you can receive at random times ... its a pretty tough game thinking about it, and most of the extras you wouldn't be able to find without one. Below is the way I play the game! Of course, play it however you like, but for beginners this guide should be pretty good. Warning, there might be minor spoilers so watch out!

♡ How I play the game. Chapter 1 ... ♡

Well, in chapter 1 I exclusively work on maintaining and growing everyones friendship because in later chapters, you can obtain gifts you wouldn't be able to get if you didn't build friendships - e.g items to build your childs stats. I also grow crops and look after my animals carefully, but friendship is a central focus. A really good guide on this can be found here, where it shows you approximately how many gifts you can give someone before they're your friend! When you become someones friend, they turn their head to look at you whilst they walk. However, you can only give certain people gifts when they're not busy - e.g. Cody cannot receive gifts when he's crossing his arms. So make a good plan on when you want to give gifts and what time of day you'll approach the towns people.

OK quick cheat I guess lol, on the first day of your farming journey BUY ALL THE BANANA SEEDS YOU CAN GET and plant them on your farm. Don’t even worry about money because you'll get plenty later on ... They must be planted one square apart from one another to grow. e.g like so ...

Your biggest source of money in this Chapter is fishing. I aim to go to bed quite early, so I wake up at 1AM so I can fish until around 9AM. After fishing, I tend to my cows to help them get S Grade milk (you don't wanna sell any milk thats A or higher because the profit isn't worth it at this stage, especially when your cow stops producing the good stuff.) Also, you should befriend Van so you can haggle pieces of fish ( as in, when Van gives you a price for a fish, you can reject it, and on some occasions he can give you a sum of more money!) A good fishing guide can be found here with locations of fish and haggling prices. (Gotta get those Sharksharks!)

I also 100% recommend if its the special edition you're playing, to always plant grass in this chapter. The more you get outta the way, the less time you have to spend planting grass in Chapter 2 - and you don't wanna waste time in this game. By filling your field full of grass, you can receive upgrades for your farm, and in Chapter 2, some villagers won't give you items if you don't have certain upgrades on your farm - aka grass ... evil game.

This Chapter is pretty easy, just make sure you make friends, collect any items lying around, and pick your wife (they each have different stats for their child - e.g. Muffy’s kid is hard to persuade and can be quite depressing lol.)

♡ Step 2, MONEYYYYY. ♡

Make sure to have befriended Daryl in Chapter 1 and the seed maker you receive from him can be used with the banana crop you planted earlier in the game. 

You can make each banana into seeds which you can sell for big 💰💰💰!!! (even more if you haggle the prices with Van..)

In Chapter 2, I work on making money steadily, maybe buy a few chickens, a goat ... and helping my child to grow healthy and happy. Just show your child items that can influence the job he’ll get when he's older - e.g. if you show your child a crystal found at the dig site, he might turn into an archaeologist or if you show your child to Cody, he might become an artist when he grows up ...

Of course, there is new villagers here now and you can befriend them if you wish! The villagers in Chapter 1 are most important to befriend though.

Another issue in this chapter is that fairly on in the beginning, your cow will stop producing milk ... one way to fix this is to make your cow pregnant. Your cow will have a baby after 30 days, and for 10 days after your cow will produce special milk to feed her calf. After this, your cow will produce milk normally that you can sell, but the whole time while she's pregnant you'll have to survive without cow milk. You have to make your cow pregnant really, because it won't produce milk again unless you do this ...

In the special edition you can also purchase a goat - it can milk everyday but only for one year before it stops producing milk. You also can't make it pregnant, and therefor its pretty useless on your farm. So be cautious of wether or not you want one at this stage ... maybe buy one when the farming life gets quiet later on into the game and you can afford a side animal?

The main name I give to this chapter is item collection because you can receive items from Villagers that can help you with your farming in this part of the game. All your hard work in Chapter 1 of befriending everyone will pay off - yay! I recommend trying to get all the items, although they can be difficult to find because this game has a lot of random events - so you can't predict when you'll get items, and no guide is 100% accurate because of this. You’ll probably find yourself entering and exiting houses over and over just to trigger a cutscene that might not even happen!!! I recommend checking the The Right Tool for the Job trophy here because its a pretty good guide on all items, and the best one I’ve seen over the years. Just know the villagers’ routines and you should be OK!

This Chapter can seems too fast paced, and receiving all the items can be tiring especially if you have a whole farm to care and look after. Don’t forget about your animals - and make sure you feed your chickens lol. If you’ve received kitchen upgrades, cook any unprofitable fish and turn it into sashimi ... haggle and get even more cash!! Yay!!

♡ Chapter 3 and onwards ... ♡

do whatever you want now!!!

So your child is growing, and your farm is progressing. You might have ducks now, a cat and even multiple cows at this point! Its a great chapter because from here you can progress how you wish without having to worry about befriending everyone, you've done all the hard work already. You can still get items from villagers, but these items are to aid your childs development further, so pick what career choice you want your kid to have and get friendship items from the appropriate villagers. If you're running out of ideas of what to do in this chapter, make sure you care for your animals and develop your farms buildings! Make sure you have loads of bananas still because they're a valuable source of income, even if you have better ways to get money, its quick and easy. This chapter follows very close to the fourth, fifth and sixth one. You can do what you wish, providing you're supporting your child and his decisions. 

The game is freedom from here, because you've received all items - you’ve probably got enough money to buy whatever you want. If you forget to get any items in the previous chapters, I think you can still obtain them -  however, in heaven mode I’m not sure if you can get some of them as it takes you back to Chapter 2 ...  

Just make your farm grow and make it the best farm Forget-Me-Not has ever seen!!!

This is just my way to play - but still, theres so many things to do! Collecting recipes, making food, obtaining golden eggs, wool, getting cutscenes you've never seen before, completing the mine (by finding a plate in every chapter...), making hybrid crops, finding out the truth about the Goddess Pond, seeing who your child will marry ... 

Its such a great game, and for me its one of the best games I’ve ever played because of the freedom, and sense to do good for your fathers farm. Its a sad game, yes, but its true to life and with life there is always endings. 

I hope you can enjoy this game as much as I do! It'll take time to adjust, but once you figure out a routine thats right for you, this game really is a breeze (sorry for the pun lol).

Day 22

So I got to wake up at 6 AM today.

For a Student Council meeting. It went rather well.

And my day was as per usual for the most part.

Except Calculus was a mess. G got pretty irritated that we didn't do our work yesterday, so we actually tried to do it today. Spoiler Alert: We had no idea wtf we were doing.

But here's where my day turned.

So Ninth hour comes around, and I go find Johnson and am like "so what're we doing today"

The conversation went something like this:

"Well actually, Ebersol and I were talking about you."

"You talking crap?"

"Haha, no. We have come to the decision that we want you to join Robotics."

"OH."

"Well, its because we know you could benefit a lot from the experience, and it would help you out in just about any field, especially going forward. Plus, we think you'd easily qualify for the Robotics scholarship. You're practically a profile fit!" Basically, just kinda sucking up to me a bit.

Long story short, I joined. Because you can never have too much shit on your résumé and there's no such thing as too much scholarship money.

Now I gotta balance work, school, Student Council, NHS, HOSA and now Robotics. Can't forget the Tech Internship I still have! Almost everything in that goddamn list takes weekend time.

My Boss won't be thrilled to hear that I might have to take more time off that's for sure...

So I did the “get to know me” meme on Twitter but because of how Twitter functions now it’s a hard to follow mess of a thread. Decided to post it all here -- and hey, if any of ya’ll are curious, feel free to read.

1) When I was 10 my abusive stepdad threw a spray at me. I ducked -- it scraped my head. Sent to school bleeding b/c he was too stoned to realize it'd get noticed and I'd get pulled out of that environment immediately. This moment changed my life, left a scar on head.

If I hadn't ducked, would've hit my stomach. No cut. Whole childhood would've been different. My first Butterfly Effect Moment.

2) I started writing fiction about Pokémon. First-person, from the Mons perspective. Rotating point of view each scene.

3) I moved on to crazy crossover fanfic where I constructed an entire war, personal and political motivations, so many ideas I still like?

4) Part of this involved detailed drawings of Mario-themed Keyblades I wish I still had.

5) Paper Mario 1&2 are some of my most influential inspirations. expanded such a simple world so much so fluidly. (Harder than it looks)

6) When I was a kid my sister would wake me st like 6am to watch dubbed Sailor Moon. Bothered me they all sounded like same person.

7) I can recognize voices very well and even specific sounds and songs. Couple years back my roommate ran a test - playlist of 100 NES tracks, he'd play the first NOTE, singular, and I could recognize exactly where it was from if I'd played the game.

8) My first computer was a PC I bought w/$ saved up during an entire summer of custodial work in HS. Had no Internet.

So I'd use the public library's very slow connection to download things to floppy disk and copy them over.

Eventually, I was able to graduate to a USB. Obtaining music was hellish so I treasured each song I could download -- most from OC Remix.

9) We had this tiny rabbit ears TV that could get WB and Fox sometimes if it was set up in a specific corner of my sister's room

And so I would desperately use it to try and stay up to date on Pokémon and Digimon, it was so bad

10) Teen Titans was arguably the most influential piece of media for my teenage mind. It formed the base of so much I care about re:stories

Fleshed out, varied protags who grew together and each had their times to step up and step down. Action w/character dev context.

Fantastic themes important for growing humans; awesome moments "between the panels" instead of all comic book melodrama and action.

Then everything changed when TT GO attacked and pissed on everything smart and thoughtful because MONEYYYYY

11) Cowboy Bebop was the first "good" anime I ever saw and blew my mind open about what animated stories could do -- i.e. Not just kid stuff

I don't like "anime" in general because most of its common tropes but the shit out of me even worse than most western toon tropes

And yet like 50-75% of my most favorite shows ARE anime because thoughtful animated storytelling has so much potential.

11) I predicted months before Last of Us came out that you'd play as Ellie but when it happened I had to stop, cry happy tears.

I predicted the second I saw the Left Behind trailer what was going on w/those two and again, still had to stop and cry happy tears.

(I seem to have pretty good gaydar now but I also don't like, ship everyone together all the time)

It just hits me so hard when actual canon queerness happens in mass media and is done well, but we're still so bad at following through.

12) Favorite m/m ship: Troy and Abed in the Morning. Favorite w/w ship: Max and Chloe BFF Pirates 2008.

ATLA ships: Tokka the most, also Katang, also Smellershot. ATLA makes me more open to shipping than any other series?

Like, Zutara makes me feel kinda gross and some of the crack ships like Sokka/Azula scare me but otherwise I'm pretty chill w/ATLA ships?

13) When I was a kid, and we'd role play, I always wanted to play the girl characters. I was surrounded by boys so they always were weirded.

It was weird to me, too, honestly.

Now it makes perfect goddamn sense.

14) Apparently I was kidnapped as a baby by some mobster or something but it's hard to tell with my mom what's real or not.

15) Smash Bros. Melee was the first game I ever got genuinely hype over before launch. I still remember being startled to discover it --

-- existed via E3 trailer on GameTrailers back on my goddamn dialup connection in 2001. I had to wait all fuckin' day for that thing to load

And when it did, it was GLORIOUS (and had FZero music, which at the time I did not recognize) and I was FLOORED.

The screenshots made the game look too good to be real, and I was instantly sold on the GameCube, the first time I NEEDED new hardware Day 1

I got SSBM as an Xmas gift before my grandpa's GCN present arrived, so for a week or two all I could do was stare at the box/manual/disc

That game kind of changed my life -- SSB64 was the first time I'd gotten so invested in a multiplayer game, and SSBM crushed it.

A fire was born in me -- competition, something I'd never been much interested in w/games before, not against actual humans.

Those months between E3 2001 and finally getting to play SSBM felt like forever. And thus did I post online fiction for the first time.

That's actually how I met @SDiDuro , my first 'Internet friend' and what I'd consider to be my first proper 'reader.'

16) After college, I ended up working at a call center because it was  the only job I could find and I needed to support my disabled wife.

DURING college, I gave up on writing fiction and had focused on gaming editorial through a site where I'd engaged with an online community

But that empty space between phone calls eventually got filled in by writing fiction on a notepad, with a pen, inspired by Street Fighter 4.

Eventually, this evolved and radically changed into what is now (still in dev) DownRight Fierce.

Back then, I had no idea I'd be motivated to DO this, though -- write original fiction -- but the fire had been re-lit.

I wanted to write.

I was sickened by my "naive" adolescence crossover fics and wiped them from my http://FF.net  profile and started anew.

Having just come off of ATLA 1st time, I knew I wanted to explore that world/characters more, so I wrote a story about Toph & puberty.

That serving as "practice," I then went on to write SRU, and...well, that...changed EVERYTHING.

17) My biological dad (who I have never met) has OCD, to the point where he apparently washed his skin raw trying to avoid germs?

So as soon as I showed enthusiasm in gaming, my parents FREAKED and worried I was exhibiting OCD and they brought the hammer down.

They made me feel BAD for writing about video games when I wasn't playing them, but they never READ anything I fucking wrote.

Even now, my mom tries to comment on what a good writer I supposedly am, yet when I ask for her thoughts, I ask what she's read?

Silence.

I wasn't writing fiction based on games because I was THAT addicted to games.

I did it because a storyteller was awakening within me --

-- and I told stories through the worlds and characters I was familiar with.

(And my first genuinely "serious" fic was Teen Titans, anyway)

But even now, it really hurts that my parents will sometimes try to guilt me over not calling or whatever the fuck, when they never READ

never supported, and actively DISCOURAGED my writing, my storytelling, refused to understanding why I loved games.

18) I never watched Avatar until after college (years after it had finished), and I watched it because of the live action movie.

I watched halfway through the season 1 of the cartoon to get "read up" on it. Then the movie. Which was horrible. Then the rest of season 1.

At that point, the movie utterly baffled me. My wife and I proceeded to marathon the rest of the series. And it became my fav story ever.

But I ironically owe it to that terrible live action movie. ^_^;;

19) My taste in music is really weird. I couldn't tell you what my favorite genres are, and even fav musicians is hard.

Like, every year my top three fav musicians "change" because I just add more to the pile and spend the year focused on their music.

But music inspires my storytelling more than any other medium, I'd say -- in terms of me actually planning and growing ideas.

I didn't just give Nishiko and Seiko last names of my two fav game composers as tongue-in-cheek. In fact, that's not why I did it at all.

I gave them those names because I wanted some element of their very design to express how Japanese composers inspired me in my teen years.

The significant others in many cases r holding down the home front while these boys r free to create and entertain us. So they r not all irrelevant or gold diggers. Eric has a pregnant wife w/ 2 kids, Duggy is trying to co-parent, Phil has a wife and 6 kids, Phread has a wife and Jimmy has a wife w/ a sick kid w/ sickle cell. I hate to put you on the spot but its something about this post that doesn't make any sense to what i was talking about in my other post. About two posts ago in sentence 4 and 5 i stated this "Like the only one I’ve followed in the past and would follow in the future is Bruno and maybe some band members but i could never follow girlfriends or mutuals or family. I just think that anyone other than the star or the band is irrelevant to me and have no benefit to myself" Look where i said "ANYONE OTHER THAN THE STAR OR THE BAND IS IRRELEVANT TO ME AND HAVE NO BENEFIT TO MYSELF"Meaning: No family member or girlfriend of these men are in any form of entertainment that contributes to Bruno Mars or 24kMagic or anything else involving Bruno Mars' entertainment.Meaning: They are irrelevant to what i care about so im not gonna follow them around like i care about their lives because their words nor presences has no benefit to meMeaning: Im not a fan of THEM i am a fan of their significant others (not even, like just Bruno and Phil) Meaning: All in all, they are irrelevant to ME. And flowers really what did he kept me running back to him like nothing happened?!" Sin says yelling in her hotel room. Would You Rather… Have All The Knowledge in The World From $$$ Books – OR – $100,000 In Cash?

Happy 401(k) Day, everyone!

Yup, it’s a real day, and one of real importance too! Given that the bulk of American’s money is totally invested in their 401(k)s and respective counterparts. Trillions and trillions of it! (Don’t quote me on that one as I’m too lazy to research it right now, but I do know it’s a lot! ;))

So before we get to today’s goodness, make sure that the following two things are in place w/ yours:

A) That you’re getting 100% of your FREE MATCHING from your employer because it’s FREE MONEY!! Which is better than NO FREE MONEY, and especially when you don’t even notice the difference of it being deducted from your paycheck!

And B) That the money that’s sitting there is actually invested into something smart, and not ridiculous like cash or other “investments” that are sucking out your money in fees vs compounding it for you. We haven’t done one of these in forever, and thought it would be fun to compare YOUR answers here with the ones we got when we interviewed over 200 financial bloggers for a new project over at Rockstar Finance we just launched (details in a bit).

“Would you rather….

Have all the knowledge from every financial book in the world

– OR –

Get $100,000 in cash money?”

Now remember, think on it for a bit before going with your gut answer! What could you do with all that knowledge?? What could you do with all that cash? Does going after one get you closer to getting the other one too? Are they both equally as important?

I initially chose “all the knowledge” myself, because of course you can then turn that knowledge into even more cash money over time, so long as you take action, but after sitting on it for a few I ended up changing my mind on it and here’s why:

If I had all the knowledge from the books I wouldn’t have a reason to read any more! Which is half the fun! And plus, $100k compounding right now means a handful more years closer to early retirement where I can then – wait for it – read more finance books! (BAM!)

Now of course, this is *current* me and not *old* me when I didn’t have 1/100th of the knowledge I do now on money, so our own journeys certainly play their part here.

Our New Rockstar Project: A Crowdsourced Report (and Directory!) of The Best and Worst Personal Finance Books as Rated by 200+ Bloggers!

Some of you may have already seen this if you’re a fellow blogger and/or follower of my sister site RockstarFinance.com (where we do a lot of curation and collaboration), but basically this week we finally launched a project I was DYING to get out and was super proud of in doing so :)

After letting the words from that killer book, Essentialism, seep in for a while, an idea finally clicked on how I could use my one unique “super power,” as they say, to really do something cool in the space. And not only cool, but also HELPFUL for our entire community!

And that was harnessing the collective minds of the financial blogging community to pump out insight on one targeted financial topic each and every month, to give us a SOLID resource from people who love and obsess about this stuff the most.

And we kick-started it with a report on the best, and most overrated, BOOKS on personal finance, as well a slew of other interesting nuggets such as that Would You Rather above as to not turn it into a snooze-fest ;) You can see a sneak peek of the report here before you click over:

But here’s the second cool thing that came out of it all – not only do we now have this nifty report to scan through, but it also gave us the ability to build out a new directory of BOOKS to compliment our Blogger directory too! So now EVERYONE can access this collective mind-meld of recommendations to better help them in their journey towards financial knowledge. Win-win all around!
