Very, very early Saturday morning master classes @adrenalinedanceinc at LAX Hilton. Sarah loved it! She kept up with the choreography pretty well this time too. It is only her 2nd time doing this her first time was @radixdance and she was a little overwhelmed by how fast the choreography can be! It’s a big difference going from gymnastics the same routines for years then go into “the dancer pick up the choreography fast mode” the brain has to work big time! Your technique has to be there! For her first year of dance she is getting the hang of it! I am laughing as I write this! Just noticed my little girl has changed her Instagram profile! She is definitely realizing “versatility is the key” to survive in this new world because you are going to have to be “great” at everything! She is becoming quite the all around little artist I love and one day, I already can see it …. (If she keeps listening to her mother like my big girl did with her sports) a great little “performer” too. She can be very, very funny and has great musicality on top of it! Her musical theater teacher during the summer Miss Jessica @theindustrydanceacademy absolutely loved her, she is a great teacher and a great all around dancer with fantastic energy with some great shows under her belt, she even toured with Sarah’s cousin, Chandra Schwartz, who played Glenda in Wicked. This Summer my little girl discovered a true love of dance @theindustrydanceacademy (I wonder where she gets that from?) So this September she will be starting dance another new chapter! I did not want her to quit gym totally (as she has worked so hard at it) so we have decided to focus on learning optional skills @mediacitygymnastics She has started working on her new beam routine, has her floor routine choreographed and I even saw her do a cast to handstand on the bars and a straight armed kip for the first time ever and that is in just 3 three hour classes! I was impressed! So the plan is she will work really, really hard and compete in January score out of Gold and do Platinum then we will see! I think with the combo of “both” dance and gym she will do really well. Just my gut feeling! She is like her mom gets bored easily! So to keep kids interested you have to keep it FUN find ways to keep the passion in their belly burning! Fuel the fire! That’s when kids learn best and do well I truly believe that! It worked for my big girl Ema as she is now playing Division 1 College Waterpolo and is becoming a truly great goalie @pacificwaterpolo I did not even know but she won 4 College Waterpolo Awards for her goalie playing this year and that has motivated her to believe in herself even more. She has even now shown interested in 2024? She has 3 citizenships US, French and Australian so who knows? I said if you see it in your mind and really work hard “anything is possible” but you have to want it! What you put in is what you get out! She is only 18 and it’s up to her but I know she could do it if wants it! I can tell you playing waterpolo goalie is hard work! My little neighbor “Gabe” just loves to come and just hang, create & play at The Joy House! He said “Joy I love coming here it makes me happy” hearing that makes my heart sing. Then when he said he loves my “busy” little Joy House Set that I have created for future Zoom and Live work that I will start in a couple of months (I still have a lot to set up), but I know if my Joy House makes him happy I know it is going to make other kids happy too! His big smile is so contagious! He has two little brothers so I think he likes to come here to get a couple of hours of quiet alone time! I haven’t seen the kids in my building or him for a long time been very busy “hibernating and building” I miss seeing them. This constant lockdown in Los Angeles is definitely testing us! Happy Easter to my little girl! So it’s been over one year of lockdown in LA and “Zoom Classes” for my creative busy bee! It’s now so late in the year to go back for “3 hours” of social distancing schooling. I was going back and forth but she doesn’t even want to go back! She wants me to home school her! I said I need to focus on my work she knows I need to build TJH but I said she can finish the last 6 weeks and graduate 5th grade but after summer for middle school she is going back to “real” school! I told her too she is doing online Sumner School. The kid’s will need it! I keep telling her “your mother is not an octopus” I just can’t do it all but I am very proud how she was able to keep her self busy and entertained with her art, her animals, her gymnastics and trying to focus on online schooling. It’s hard!
