Hello! I've seen you draw a lot of Kamen Rider and got curious about it and wanted to ask what it's about and what it is!
BTW: I love your art it's so cool and pretty✨️😭😭
thank you! 💛💜💛 Rider's been near and dear to my heart for well over a decade now, and I'm always happy to suck more people into the void. >:)
Kamen Rider is a Japanese live-action superhero franchise; they come out with a new standalone show every year with brand new characters/story/etc. (so you typically don't need to have seen any of the others to understand it). because every show is often totally different, there's a big variety in tone and quality, but I have some personal recs in this post! and you can also take a look at the wikipedia list (under 'main series') and just see which ones might sound good to you. :D (there's also Ride Kamens, the Twstification-style game that I've really been enjoying, though it is only in Japanese right now.)
at its heart it's basically just a bunch of guys in superhero suits having emotions while swinging foam swords and questionable CGI at rubber monsters, and it's excellent.

Some interesting tidbits about district assignments
Each underboss starts with one district, their "home" district, if you will. You get to decide which additional districts they get, but there's some assignments that some underbosses might like more than the others.
Southdowns - Vito/Cassandra
Pedestrian chatter indicate it had a large, if almost exclusive Italian presence before.
Vito comments on having a "favorite diner in Southdowns."
If you assign Cassandra to Southdowns, some pedestrians are concerned about the Italians and Haitians not getting along. Some pedestrians say they're getting along.
Cassandra says, "Laundry Machines, cigarettes and stereos. Southdowns knows how to turn a dollar out of everyday items. This is real good for us."
In contrast, Burke doesn't have anything interesting to say.
Barclay Mills - Cassandra
The other two comment on Barclay Mills being garbage, but Cassandra has dreams of revitalizing Barclay Mills. Curiously, Emmanuel says that that's because "she never has to go there."
Vito and Alma admit to having little experience with trains and factories.
Tickfaw Harbor - Cassandra/Vito/Burke
Emmanuel comments on the harbor being good for the marijuana business, and Cassandra likes it for general import/export.
Vito and Alma mention that the harbor would make their smuggling operation easier.
Burke and Nicki seems to be more interested in the car rackets.
Downtown - Cassandra
Burke and Vito seem more focused on the money while Cassandra's top priority is power and City Hall.
There's the usual talk about rising crime if Burke or Vito get the district, but with Cassandra, people comment on protests and clashes with the police.
Frisco Fields
All the underbosses seem to like Frisco Fields as a way to spite the wealthy, white residents there, and they don't seem too disappointed if they don't get the district.
Alma is a bit surprised if you give Frisco Fields to Vito.
Nicki dislikes Frisco Fields. It might be because she was in their ER once.
French Ward - Cassandra/Burke
Cassandra and Emmanuel mentions taking care of the sex workers there.
Burke likes vice and the rackets but Nicki seems more exasperated because of him.
Vito has little experience with the rackets there, but he seems to want to run it. Alma has no desire to run the sex rackets.
There's also some common themes in the chatter around each underboss's assignment.
Vito: Increased Italian presence, crime, protection rackets. People also comment on increased Italian cuisine. Memorable quote: "Guess what's at every crime scene lately in Frisco Fields? Marinara."
Burke: Increased Irish presence, moonshine, robberies.
Cassandra: Increased Haitian and black presence. The commentary is usually just racist remarks, but black pedestrians comment on increased black businesses and diversity.

Something that should have occurred to me earlier:
I've been thinking lately about how the ONLY people who seem to be excited and interested in ~AI~ are C-Suite Types, and Of Course They Are, because they're ALSO one of the few classes of society with enough money to be heavily involved in investing, and ~AI~ is the latest scam for pouring investment-dollars into in lieu of genuinely GOOD investments(which, thanks to pro-monopoly policies in the US, are supremely hard to find these days).
Like: it isn't(entirely) that these people are Dense Idiots; they are heavily invested IN ~AI~ startups, and pushing the companies they run to take on ~AI~ contracts WITH these startups actively helps those investments.

i know i did reblog that post earlier but the specific implication that we should fence in wild areas or that other continents dont have large megafauna in their local areas is just.... bothering me
like 1. restricting the movement of animals is bad for ecology, actually, and its part of why the highway system in the USA is so specifically concerning. not just because larger animals tend to maintain larger swathes of territory, but because animals need to move between areas in order to prevent genetic islands and inbreeding. this is actually part of the issue in why certain animals are endangered, because you can get too many in one area and not enough in other areas and they cannot move between areas
and 2. you?? do get megafauna interacting with and in local areas??? like even here its not an all-the-time sort of deal, and so is it in other areas, but there's still plenty of instances of elephants breaking open houses or blocking roads, and certainly plenty of instances of large cats hanging out around human trash. its not just an ''only in america!'' type deal

Ok I've been playing more persona 5. Almost done with okumura (as in I'm literally 1 day from the deadline, he's already dealt with). The boss fight with him wasn't nearly as bad as my first game of royal (see: me failing like 5 times b4 rage quitting for the night & then studying a strategy guide in the morning), BUT it definitely took more effort than basically Any fight in this game so far. Had to actually Strategize, couldn't brute force my way through (though I sure did use brute force for Some of it lol. Thanks Satanael)
The lack of akechi is fucking me up tho. I can't level my link with him until we get to sae's palace times, and I've just been going to kichijoji to look at him like a lost puppy before going and doing something else for the night
Fucking fascinating thing though. So I've got kawakami at max by now (big ugh, I know, but I wanted her skill + I'm trying to max all of them this game), WHICH MEANS I can get a massage to go out after metaverse things. So I took down okumura, got a massage, and then went out again.
AND I SAW HIM THERE...
Me, fresh out of defeating okumura. Akechi, fresh out of Killing okumura. And he did the line of like "I need to talk to you about something... but I don't have time right now." Looking all fake conflicted lol. It's just a little tidbit of timing that I've never gotten before, so I enjoyed that for Sure.
