We were called out yesterday to this burst water pipeline on the inlet side of the water meter before the isolation valve. We had to isolate the water to the entire housing complex (approximately 200 properties) to undertake repairs to the split copper water pipeline. We were called out to this property as there was a wet area around water meter & front hose tap. Upon excavation of area around water meter & hose tap we found a massive tree root from a large gum tree planted next to the water meter was growing around copper water pipeline. After we cut out the massive tree root from around copper water pipeline we found the split in the copper water pipeline due to the tree root.
