    หางกระต่ายสะบัดไปมาตอนที่มินโฮห้อยต่องแต่งอยู่ที่ขอบเคาน์เตอร์ในครัว ในมือเล็กๆมีแครอทอยู่สองสามหัว เปื้อนดินเพราะเพิ่งดึงขึ้นมาจากแปลง ฟรายแพนปิดเตาเมื่อเห็นเขา เช็ดมือกับผ้ากันเปื้อนขณะที่หาลังมาต่อขาให้ผู้ดูแลนักวิ่ง มินโฮขมวดคิ้ว มือยื่นหัวแครอทให้ฟรายแพน

     “จะให้ฉันทำอะไรเรอะมินโฮ"

     “ทำเค้ก"

     “จะให้ฉันทำเค้กแครอทให้เรอะ เดี๋ยวนิวท์ก็มาฆ่าฉันกันพอดี"

     “ไม่ใช่โว้ย ฉันให้แกสอนฉันต่างหาก ปลวก"

     เค้กที่ฟรายแพนบอกว่าจะทำคือคัพเค้กแครอทปาดหน้าด้วยครีมชีส มินโฮนั่งจินตนาการว่าเค้กจะออกมาหน้าเป็นยังไงขณะที่นั่งขูดหัวแครอทเป็นฝอย (แน่นอนว่าแอบกินไปด้วย)

     “หัวไปกระแทกอะไรมาถึงอยากทำเค้กวะมินโฮ"

     “เรื่องของฉันน่า ไม่ได้ทำไปกินเองแล้วกัน ห้ามไปฟ้องนิวท์ด้วย"

     “หืมม"

     ถ้าไม่ได้คิดไปเอง ดูเหมือนมินโฮจะเน้นว่าห้ามไปฟ้องนิวท์มากเป็นพิเศษ คงเป็นอะไรเกี่ยวกับนิวท์ เท่าที่นึกออกก็มีแค่อย่างเดียว ถึงจะไม่ค่อยสมเหตุสมผลก็เถอะ

     “วันเกิดนิวท์สินะ"

     “ห๊ะ..แก.."

     ฟรายแพนหัวเราะให้กับมินโฮที่อ้าปากพะงาบๆ พยายามหาคำพูดขึ้นมาบ่ายเบี่ยง สุดท้ายก็ทำไม่สำเร็จ

     “แกรู้วันเกิดนิวท์ด้วยเรอะมินโฮ"

     “รู้ก็บ้าแล้ว วันเกิดตัวเองฉันยังนึกไม่ออกเลย"

     “อ่าว..แล้ว?"

     “วันเข้าทุ่งวันแรกน่ะ"

     มินโฮว่าพลางขูดแครอทต่อ ทำเป็นไม่สนใจฟรายแพน ซึ่งฟรายแพนเห็นแล้วก็อดแกล้งไม่ได้จริงๆ

     “โถ ชอบเขามากเลยสินะหนุ่มน้อย"

     ฟรายแพนทำเสียงเหมือนแม่พูดกับลูกชาย และหัวเราะลั่นหลังเห็นสีหน้ามินโฮ มินโฮ(คิดว่า)โกรธซะจนหางเล็กๆสะบัดไปมา

     “ปลวก ถ้าแกไม่หยุดพูดฉันจะพังเตาอบแก"

     “งั้นก็ไม่มีอะไรไว้ทำข้าวเย็นน่ะสิ เพราะแกเลยนะเนี่ย เรื่องนี้ถึงหูนิวท์แน่"

     “ปลวก!"

     ฟรายแพนยังคงนั่งขำไม่เลิก ขำซะจนน้ำตาไหลเป็นทาง มินโฮรำคาญจนต้องเอาขนมปังก้อนมายัดปากฟรายแพน อีกมือก็คว้าแครอทที่ขูดไว้แล้วเข้าปากอย่างหงุดหงิด และหยุดมือลงเมื่อนึกออกว่าขูดแครอทเอาไว้ทำเค้ก

      เวลาผ่านไปเกือบสองชั่วโมงตอนที่มินโฮวางแครอทที่ปั้นจากฟองดองลงบนหน้าเค้กอันสุดท้าย กระต่ายยกเอาแขนเสื้อปาดเหงื่อบนหน้าผาก ยิ้มอย่างพอใจก่อนจะเรียงคัพเค้กอันเล็กๆพวกนั้นใส่ถาด เหลืออยู่บนตะแกรงอันนึง

     “อ่าว แล้วอันนี้ล่ะ?"

     “ให้แกนั่นแหละ เป็นการขอบคุณ"

     ฟรายแพนยิ้มน้อยๆอย่างเอ็นดู ตอนที่กระตายมินโฮถือถาดใส่คัพเค้กวิ่งออกไป 

    นิวท์พรวนดินอยู่ ตอนที่มินโฮวิ่งมาหา ในมือกระต่ายมีถาดอยู่ เค้กเรียงอยู่บนนั้นเต็มถาดไปหมด อันตรงกลางมีเทียนปักอยู่สองเล่ม มินโฮยื่นถาดมาให้เขา

     “หา?"

     “จะเอารึเปล่า ถ้าไม่เอาฉันจะเอาไปให้คนอื่นกินล่ะ"

     นิวท์เลิกคิ้ว งงไปหมด

     “ฉันกำลังงงว่าแกเอาเค้กมาให้ฉันทำไม"

     “สมองแกโดนแดดเผาไปหมดแล้วรึไง เห็นเทียนรึเปล่า วันเกิดไงวันเกิด"

     “หา? วันนี้วันเกิดฉันเหรอ"

     “ไม่รู้ แต่วันนี้เป็นวันแรกที่แกเข้าทุ่ง ฉันก็เลยให้เป็นวันเกิดแกไง ปลวก"

     “แกตั้งวันเกิดให้ฉันเนี่ยนะ"

     นิวท์หัวเราะเบาๆตอนที่นั่งคุกเข่าลงให้อยู่ระดับเดียวกับมินโฮ ยื่นมือไปลูบหัวกระต่ายเบาๆ

     “ขอบใจ"

     นิวท์ว่าก่อนจะเป่าเทียนทั้งสองเล่มจนดับ คว้าเค้กอันนึงใส่ปาก

     “ฟรายแพนทำเหรอ?"

     “ฉันต่างหากล่ะ"

     “เห~"

     นิวท์ว่าพลางหยิบเค้กขึ้นมาอีกชิ้น และกินหมดอย่างรวดเร็ว ก่อนจะหยิบอีกอัน มินโฮนั่งมอง เริ่มอยากกินเหมือนกัน มือเล็กๆเอื้อมไปจะหยิบเค้ก นิวท์ตีมือเขา

     “ห้ามกิน"

     “ฉันเป็นคนทำนะ!"

     “แกเป็นกระต่าย ลืมรึไง ห้ามกินของหวาน แล้วนี่ตอนทำแอบชิมรึเปล่า"

     “...แค่นิดเดียวเองน่า"

     “ถ้าตายไปจะทำยังไงเล่า"

     นิวท์ถอนหายใจ ก่อนจะลุกขึ้น หายไปในสวน กลับมาพร้อมแครอทหัวใหญ่ เขาส่งมันให้มินโฮ

     “กินนี่ไปแล้วกัน"

     “ปลวก"

     กระต่ายบ่นอุบ เคี้ยวแครอทจนแก้มตุ่ย

     “ว่าแต่ นี่เค้กแครอทใช่เปล่า"

     “อืม"

     “แกเอาแครอทที่ฉันปลูกมาทำเค้กวันเกิดให้ฉันเนี่ยนะ?"

     “เออ ถ้าไม่กินก็เอาคืนมา"

     “ไม่โว้ย ให้แล้วจะเอาคืนได้ไง"

     นิวท์ยกถาดหนีมินโฮ ก่อนจะไปนั่งกินใต้ต้นแอปเปิล ยิ้มน้อยๆตอนที่ส่งฟองดองรูปแครอทเข้าปาก เขาไม่รู้ว่าไม่มีคนฉลองวันเกิดให้มากี่ปีแล้ว เขาจำไม่ได้ ที่จริงแค่วันเกิดตัวเองเขายังจำไม่ได้ด้วยซ้ำ

     “ขอบใจนะมินโฮ"

     “ฉันทำเพื่อให้มีแครอทกินต่อหรอกน่า.."

     “เหรอ"

     นิวท์หัวเราะตอนที่มินโฮหันหน้าหนี หางปุกปุยสะบัดไปมา เขายิ้มอีกตอนที่ส่งเค้กชิ้นสุดท้ายเข้าปาก

It was a tuesday afternoon when Minho and you decided to go for a walk in the park. You were more than happy to finally see him after some time. You knew what you got yourself into with Minho always being on tour. You two were holding hands while walking through the park. After a while, Minho and you sat down on one of the benches that were empty. There weren't many people around, only some older couples. You sat there at a lake side watching some ducks and turtles walk around, searching for food.

"It's always so calm when we get here. Thank you for taking your day off to spend time with me." you said while trying to not sound sad. Minho held your hand as tight as possible. "I'd rather spend my day off with you than my family." he said and a small giggle left your lips. Oh how he loved it when you giggled. "When will you go again?" Your question must've caught him a little off guard since he looked at you a little lost. "We start practicing for our Tour in two weeks. The practice starts in two days but I'll probably take some time to rest the next two days." he said looking at you concerned. "Hmm." you just answered with tears always starting to Form in your eyes. Minho laid an arm around you and pulled you closer. "You can do it. I know you can. You did it the other times and I know you will do it again this time. It won't be long. We'll be having about a week of concerts and then we'll be back." he said caressing your arm. You nodded in agreement. He didn't know how much you suffered while he's away from you. 

The two of you decided to head back home since your parents would be worried dead. On your way back you saw some bunnies running around on the fields. "Look Minho. There are some bunnies. Look how cute they are and they also remind me of you. Then Minho had an idea. He would buy you a little baby bunny as a little surprise for you. 

~Two days Later~

Minho had written you that he'd come over to say goodbye. He grabbed the little box and everything that was needed to survive the first few days with the bunny and made his way over to you. He knocked on your door and put the little box behind his back. You opened the door with a smile. "Hello Minho. Come inside." you said while letting him inside. You saw the small box in his hands behind his back. "What's inside of there?" you asked. "A little surprise for you." he said and smiled. He handed the box over to you and you put it down on the table while cautiously opening it. Your eyes widened when you saw what it was. It was a little grey bunny. You pulled it out with tears in your eyes. "Why?" you asked while nearly crying. "Remember the bunnies we saw two days ago? You said they reminded you of me so I thought I'd get you one to always be with you. So now you know I'm always with you and you don't have to be so sad while I'm gone." Minho said while now caressing your back. "Thank you." you said and put the bunny down. You turned to face Minho and placed a soft kiss on his lips. "Really. Thank you. I will take good care of him." you added while smiling at your boyfriend. He smiled back and kissed your soft lips again. 

'I'd say this is a surprise gone right.' he thought.
