Homeless NDA Ministers
IMC WEB DESK NEW DELHI: Indian politics defines transition. Elections saw Modi as the PM heading NDA-led coalition government. Soon after, former Union Ministers asked to vacate their designated homes
NDA goes through changes
Indian politics witnessed weighty changes in 2024. On 7th June 2024, Narendra Modi confirmed the support of 293 MPs to Droupadi Murmu, the President of India. This marked Modi’s third term as Prime Minister and his first-time heading NDA-led coalition government with the Telugu Desam Party of Andhra Pradesh and Janata Dal (United) of Bihar emerging as two primary alliances.
A noticeable step taken by the Directorate of Estates (DoE) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) surely makes up for a sweeping swap!
DoE served a notice to few of the former Union Ministers in Indian Politics to vacate their official accommodation in Delhi’s Lutyens’ by 10 July as requests for accommodation pour in from newly appointed ministers.
All Union ministers and ministers of state (MoS) in Indian politics are entitled to a ‘Type VIII’ bungalow in Delhi’s Lutyens’. Former ministers have to vacate such an accommodation when they lose their ministerial berth, according to the DoE rules.
NDA-led coalition government have removed thirty-seven formers ministers in from Narendra Modi’s Union Council of Ministers. Indian politics stands synonymous to shifting gears.
Significant leaders in Indian politics namely Smriti Irani, Arjun Munda, R.K Singh, Niranjan Jyoti, Sanjeev Balyan, and Rajeev Chandrashekhar, lost in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. Others, such as Anurag Thakur, Narayan Rane, and Parshottam Rupala, won but did not get a ministerial berth this time. Some, such as Meenakshi Lekhi, did not get a ticket to contest the polls as the BJP replaced them with new faces. When the nation asks what is politics, well this is the face of real Indian Politics.
The DoE notice will be followed by a show cause notice eventually leading to an eviction notice.
Indian politics is often referred as the dance of democracy! While few ministers might still be showing unwillingness to vacate, there are others who have been upfront in changing their designated accommodation.
Former Education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, who was served with an eviction notice by the Directorate of Estates recently, has also conveyed that he would be vacating the 27, Safdarjung Road bungalow.
Lutyens-Landmark in Indian Politics
Spread across an area of 23.60sqkm, The Lutyens Bungalow Zone is home to the luminaries of Indian Politics as well as high-net-worth individuals with about 3000 government-owned bungalows.
Serving NDA Union ministers were eligible for accommodation as allotted by the DoE. House committees of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha secretariats are the competent authorities to allot accommodation to MPs.
Members are entitled to a licence-fee free flat or hostel accommodation throughout their term of office.
Members are entitled to water supply without payment of charges up to 4000 kl per annum. They are eligible for electricity up to 50,000 units (25,000 units measure on light meter and 25,000 units on power meter or pooled together) per annum beginning from January 1 every year.
Other facilities include- washing of sofa covers and curtains every three months. Furniture within the monetary ceiling of Rs 60,000 in respect of durable furniture.
They are also allowed for a 25 per cent remission in the rent on account of any improvement or addition made to it or any additional service provided thereto by way of furniture, electrical equipment and other services.
Editor’s Note
Around 50 former union ministers and MPs from the last Lok Sabha have been sent notice by DoE to vacate their official accommodation. Home is always closest to ones heart and when it is in the poshest locality of the capital and earned through valid eligibility, the address caries a myriad of meaning for the resident. Apparently it is just might be a regular governmental procedure but delving deep, slight feeling uprootedness might haunt souls of Indian politics.

PageSix/Backgrid exclusive -
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were all smiles as they stepped out for their first night out since the release of “Spare.” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted arriving at Hollywood hotspot San Vicente Bungalows, the top eatery for industry power players, in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. In exclusive photos obtained by Page Six, the former actress, 41, looked elegant in black leather pants, black heels and a beige cardigan. She complimented the look with a black clutch. Harry, 38, on the other hand, wore a gray cardigan paired with a blue T-shirt, jeans and blue shoes. The memoir author was the first one to step out of the car while Markle came out after, hiding from the Los Angeles rain as a bodyguard held an umbrella open for her. The members-only club — owned by Jeff Klein, who also runs the famed Sunset Tower hotel — bans cell phones and photos, so the privacy-keen couple ensured their meal was a peaceful one. Harry was friendly towards those around them. This is the first time the couple has been seen in public since the release of Harry’s blockbuster memoir, “Spare,” in which he spared no truths about his family. From talking about his infamous frostbitten penis to accusing Prince William of physically attacking him and alleging that his father called him a “spare” when he was born, “Spare” became the fastest-selling non-fiction book ever, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. And despite the bitter taste the book has left in his family’s mouth, an insider told Page Six that the former royal has no regrets. “Harry said he was really happy about the success of the book and the reaction to it,” the insider told us. “He said he had no regrets about any of the revelations, and he’s relieved to have got his story out into the world. There’s been an amazing reaction to it, he said.” The source added that Harry and Markle “seemed to be in extremely good spirits.” It’s unclear whether the couple will be invited to King Charles’ coronation. In fact, he’s so proud of his work that another insider told us the dad of two could be adding an extra chapter to the paperback version of his memoir. “Prince Harry is already planning to add at least one new chapter … to the paperback version … out later this year or early next, when the hardcover sales have ended,” the source told us. However, only time will tell if the explosive memoir will cost the ousted couple their invitation to King Charles’ coronation on May 6. The couple has also been kicked out of their Frogmore home in the UK. Their night out also comes after news that Charles is kicking Harry and Markle from their Frogmore Cottage home and offering it to disgraced Prince Andrew. An insider told Page Six that the monarch began the eviction process in January — the day after “Spare” came out. A source originally told The Sun, who first reported the news, that “this eviction surely spells the end of Harry and Meghan’s time in the UK.” As they’ve made California their home, the former royals don’t have an alternative home in the family’s estate.
I am still old enough to remember when Harry said that the lights of all the camera flashes triggers him, he said that's what makes being a royal unbearable. I guess those magic mushroom really did wonders for his trauma.

I’m still having some severe heartburn and I just went to Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree... I bought some Tums and a pink birthday bag and stuffing for Pearl’s Mother’s Day presents... I bought her a seahorse... I’m kind of disappointed, because I do not have a boyfriend at the moment, and I was looking into this guy Randy but he’s just rude to me and staff. I think he might get evicted soon. That’s unfortunate... writing this on my laptop is triggering my flashbacks and I wish I had someone to talk to about them. Usually my flashbacks consist of the bungalows... mainly Serena, Hippie, and Tommy Jones. I can’t even watch TV, and sometimes the Facebook reels, and YouTube commercials, and many other things contribute to my flashbacks. It’s been at least seven years since I have lived at the bungalows and the flashbacks still mess with me. I try to stay occupied and keep myself from being bored. I just found out that my sister was molested by my Uncle... and there is nothing I could do about it. I think that she should have told our dad. Even though dad beats us doesn’t mean he would let that continue. That same uncle molested me before and dad threw him out of our house... I just didn’t realize at the time that it was molestation.

Help me make a timeline of the past 11 months by u/okfine_illbite
Help me make a timeline of the past 11 months I'm visiting my mom this weekend and she's only recently been interested in H & M, especially w/ the separation rumors. I'm creating a timeline of sightings and significant events since HMTQ's death to go over durning wine/gossip time. Wondering if y'all can help me out/make corrections. Leaving out details for conciseness.Ok here goes:-September 8, Queen is on her deathbed, H leaves late at night and comes back early. Rumors of a blowout fight w/ M since she wasn't allowed to attend.-Walk-about w/ PPOW-Funeral-Minor H&M sighting back in California (concert VIP section)-M's Variety article and video come out, noting it was made before HMTQ's death-Weird "we're proud of you" video for Elton John-Archetypes podcast resumes after brief "grieving period". No promotion from either M or her guests, except IG posts from Lisa Ling and Mindy Kaling.-H & M have stay out of the spotlight-Weird "we're proud of you" video for Elton John-Archetypes podcast resumes after brief "grieving period". No promotion from either M or her guests, except IG posts from Lisa Ling and Mindy Kaling.-H & M have stay out of the spotlight until December's "Ripple of Hope" award dinner. Rumor they left separately.-Netflix 6 part show comes out-Spare comes out + H does about 5 interviews, M not seen or heard from during this period-Jeremy Clarkson drama. H & M release statement through mouthpiece-South Park episode. H & M release statement through mouthpiece**these next 4 I haven't figured out correct chronological order, they were back-to-back in early March-Word comes out that KC evicted them from Frogmore, although this supposedly happened months earlier when Spare came out.-Pap shots of H & M "date" at San Vicente bungalows-H at BetterUp conference in San Francisco-Lilibet is supposedly christened, only receipt is the bishop's stating it on churches website. Lot's of mysteries w/ this one: was Tyler Perry there? Was H even there? Was anybody there? Why the timing? Why no photos? Was it just to force the firm's hand to officially give them their titles? Was this all M or was H involved in that decision?*\*-H goes to London to appear in court (the one he didn't need to attend) while KC is in Transylvania-M does a pap walk in LA-M appears on screen introducing friend's Ted Talk-Some details are released about a letter KC wrote to M following Oprah interview, just days before coronation. Mouthpiece makes statement. (I still have so many questions about this incident. Did M leak it as a reminder? Was the statement to cover herself? Why all the edits to the original?)-H goes to coronation alone after weeks of "will they/won't they" on Archie's birthday-M does pap "hike" w/ Marcus and pilates gal pal-H & M appear at Laker's game w/ staff. M seems to reject a kiss attempt by H-Ms. Award! Hertz! CATASTROPHIC CAR CHASE!!! (that we wouldn't have known about if they didn't make a statement)-H back in London to give ridiculous witness statement and testimony-Spotify cuts ties, "effin grifters", rumors NF wants out too, people becoming more comfortable spilling tea about them (like the Air Force 1 story that was almost a year ago..notice that mouthpiece does not make "statements" for any of these)-M does sad pap stroll-H & M appear for the first time together since car chase, exiting an office or something-Seen w/ kids for the first time since (last July 4th?) on July 4th-M does solo pap walk to farmer's market-H & M make awkward video of them calling some teens-H & M spotted together w/ pilates lady's husband...this is still too fresh to really understand what's going on hereAnd I think that brings us up-to date! LMK if I forgot something or anything is out of order.I'm not adding anything prior to HMTQ's death. I feel like that was a pivotal moment in their relationship, perhaps the beginning of the end. post link: https://ift.tt/adq72ph author: okfine_illbite submitted: August 05, 2023 at 12:16AM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

So On Friday, June 12, 2022 we were served a summons to court because they are trying to evict us. After speaking to my mom she suggested I’ll make my way to housing court myself and report what’s going on. I have all my evidence I need to bring. The only issue is I can’t afford to get to the court and I’m not comfortable with taking the T because of my legs.
I was approved for the ride but this is too much of a short notice to call them to get there. So on Monday I need to get to the court house. It’s not local so I’m going to need to take a Lyft.
I also found out some shocking but not surprising news. We know how landlord can be evil, greedy and shitty. Well my previous landlord took it upon himself to still claim me as his tenant and has been receiving rental assistance in my name ever since we moved out. Which means from September until now!
He legally was supposed to report I moved out to my rental assistance coordinator. This man is the reason we are in this mess now. He told us he is renovating so we had to leave which has left us to find this annoying, more than likely a scam, of what they are calling “housing” apartment. We had no time to do background checks because 6 Black people were going to be homeless. So I’m going to need to find a lawyer and going to need help raising funds to find someone who can take my case. I contacted GBLS and I am waiting for them to call me back. I’m waiting for my hosing coordinator to get back to me with more details to see if their lawyers can help me fight this case. This is nerve wracking because why is this white man running a scam in my name. Like yooooo I could lose this assistance if it comes down to this. I have this assistance until I’m 25 and this man is fucking with it.
Now we are on a housing crisis. They are reporting they didn’t receive rent for December & January when in fact RAFT has approved it and we have documentation of that. We in FACT paid first and last rent and they made us pay for October when we moved in late September apparently that’s legal but I think it’s unethical since we paid 1st and last. We also been experiencing inhabitable problems with our home. Which I’m going to list out so it’s clear how long this has been going on.
1st problem was when we noticed our house was not warming up. It was now getting closer to October and we had to come to you guys and ask for blankets and shits. Our bedroom has door that leads to our front balcony. Wind would blow through the cracks of the door, cause the floors to be extremely cold. My boyfriend and I had to hang up blankets that were donated to us so we can block out as much air as possible. They “fixed” the problem a few days later the heat didn’t work again. Some heaters worked but the ones we needed didn’t. They told us it was a electrical problem which needed a handy man to come out to fix it. They fixed it and the heat was good.
2. Soon after we notice the circuit broke. It happened in my sleep and woke up like why is everything dark my boyfriend goes something blew the fuse. I’m like ugggh let’s report it as an emergency. So I go on the bungalow app (the housing company we renting from )to repot the problem. They told me I had to fix it. So my boyfriend and I had to risk our life and switch it back. Then this problem kept happening. From using our space heaters, blow dryers, sometimes it would just go out just to go out and I told them this kept happening. They did nothing. We then noticed only half the house goes out which told us that half the house is on a different break or so. when the snow fell we had to use an orange extension to run from our kitchen to our bedroom so we can use our lil Space heater. It was a small one you get from family dollar. They haven’t done nothing about it and I’m afraid with the rate we are going and how hot it’s getting too many a.c May throw it. I’m not sure. I told them the door is the problem so they temporary sealed it with some weather tape which didn’t help, which then had my boyfriend and I sleep in the living room. Which gets just as cold and hot as the other room. Both rooms are in the front. Idk why they didn’t check to see if everything works in this place before renting.
3. Then we noticed there was a mouse roaming around. Which was not alarming. I contacted bungalow and they laid some traps. As long as some bug traps too
4. Then There was a roach problem because the 1st floor neighbors moved out and had cause them to come upstairs to the 2nd and 3rd floor. The property manager called me and ask have we seen roaches. I go yeah I have I reported it to bungalow and they haven’t sent someone yet. She goes I’ll get an exterminator to do something about it. The exterminator came and did a spray and laid some traps. Then about 2 months later I saw a bug roach on my tv stand and so I reported it. This problem is fixed for now.
5. Our stove started leaking gas. Our
oven wouldn’t turn off. This problem started in December 2021. We noticed after cooking with the oven it wouldn’t turn off after we switched it to off. We had to literally take the knob off and turn it with pliers. I’m not strong enough so I had to have my partner do it. Which is annoying. Sometime the oven would be on for a full week or less because nobody could turn it off. They tried to replace the knob as if that was the problem. I felt like they started to undermine our issues. We decided to avoid the oven and just use the toaster oven which was annoying as hell. Suddenly around February-March I started smelling gas. I got so scared that I just stopped cooking completely cause I thought I would blow us up. Which had us reach out and rely on mutual to help feed us. I checked and made sure our stove was on correctly. I reported to them the oven wouldn’t turn off, so they decided to send a repairman. He did nothing. So From December up and until the end of April the oven-stove debacle started to looking like it was coming to an end. The end of April is when the problem got fixed and guess who fixed the problem?? Somebody who I thought worked for them but turns out she does not. When I first moved in I saw a sign that read “property manger” with contact information to call her. I told her who we were and she was shocked that somebody moved into the 3rd floor. I’m like did they not tell you? She goes no. I’m like woah. So fast forward she told me she only suppose to manage the 2nd floor and that the landlord has bungalow running the 3rd and 1st floor. She was helping us out of her kindnes of her heart.
I called the property manager one night after being gone all day as well as my family and we got home and noticed the hot water wouldn’t turn on. I started to just avoid bungalow because they would take 3-7 business days to get back to us. There’s no direct phone number to call so I had to call her. I felt bad cause it was like 630 pm and if we knew sooner the problem would of been fixed. The issue was fixed the property manager has informed me the water ran out the tank or so. Which was an easy fix luckily.
Which means bungalow has not made any fixes. Our circuit still switches. Which I’ve reported numerous times.
Recently we notice the water pressure is low. It’s not spraying as hard as before I’m not sure if that’s a sign that it’s running out of water again.
Our toilet is running like crazy and I have repo that.
With all this being said, with most of us being unemployed due to the pandemic, physical and mental disabilities we owe them in back rent. They are claiming we owe them over 20k in rent. Although we paid December and January they are claiming they didn’t get it from RAFT. We have proof that raft sent it. This also includes June as well. With all the reoccurring issues being inhabitable they dont deserve a dime.
I’m a lil paranoid now since I’m waiting to here back from my housing coordinator to see if they can help me out with this situation with my previous landlord and current landlord. It’s sooooo much happening.
I feel stuck. I still want to clean homes so I can pay a portion of my rent off so they are taking us to court. But I’m not even sure if I can right now with how much my mental health is deteriorating. All of this is to say I am really desperate and in dire need of EXTREME help. I’m crying, I’m a unstable mentally. I’m masking my feelings so nobody knows what I’m going through.
I am coming to as my community to see if you guys can help me out. I’m a black trans woman who is facing an eviction. If you know me in real life you would know I’m a very multifaceted. I’ve done work from volunteering, activism to performing live on stage with true colors out youth theatre troupe, I’ve worked at Boston glass as a peer leader. I’ve done ballroom and walked balls numerous of times from 16-21 years old. That’s to say Im not a sketchy person. I made my name in Boston. I have talents. Right now I’m stuck completely.
I’m going to need funds for transportation, lawyers, getting help to pay off a portion of the rent we owe ($500-$1000). Getting out the house more since mentally Being here is driving me crazy. Start looking for housing in other places as well.
I have called the city on this house 2 times the city never showed up.
I been going through a downfall ever since July 2021 and I just need 1 form of stability before I lose my mind completely.
I know they can’t evict us legally since we have another form at RAFT pending. It’s just tiring and exhausting not being able to do anything. I’m being fucked over by 2 landlords 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 why would he do this to me ??????? I don’t bother anybody. I just wanted to pay off my rent and now I possibly can’t.
If you have made it this far, I am sending you a virtual hug for sitting here and getting a glimpse into my life and understanding me a lil more better. I’m terrified.
If you understanding how Black trans queer low income individuals life are you would know this is the most shittiest situation I’ve been in legally. For anybody of this identity to go through. I have ptsd, stress, depression, anxiety, arthritis and shin splits. I cannot be unhoused.
Please prioritize me I’m a Dark skin Black trans NB woman. June is pride month and without Black trans women like me pride would be so boring. I’m not letting my history be erased. Juneteenth is approaching. My people have fought hard to be recognized and y’all already know how many of us feel about this sacred day being recognized legally. Nonblack people get the day off while I have to clean homes yeah that’s so disrespectful.
One of the most historical Black months we have and I, a Black person, is facing an eviction and is having a scam ran on me. Two white companies are trying to take me down. How can my previous landlord take advantage of this nonprofit who is helping me until I’m 25 years old. According to my housing advocator he has claimed over 35k in assistance
Please help me 😢🥺🙏🏾

The ‘fake landlord’ scam destroys lives in Detroit. But culprits rarely face consequences. June Walker, a 65-year old woman from Detroit, Michigan, finished paying off a rent-to-own house in more than 2 years believing it would be her forever home. But she is now facing eviction after apparently being a victim of the “fake landlord” scam all along. In January 2019, Walker was finding a house with a more affordable rent when she was shown the bungalow which was in poor condition. The house, which she was told costs $15,000, had missing windows, doors, furnace, water heater, and some plumbing but she thought she could fix it. A property manager named Maurice gave her a copy of the deed, which appeared to be from the owner of the house named Derrick. She found some parts of the document odd but she couldn’t quite point it out since she had never seen one before and she just trusted Maurice. After signing the rent-to-own agreement in February 2019, she moved in and gradually made repairs to the house. She saved up her money and set aside most of her disability check and made her final payment last spring. “For a person like me to be a homeowner — someone with $700 a month income — and to be able to buy a decent home on a land contract and get it finished? You know, that’s an accomplishment,” Walker told NBC News. However, when it came time to put the deed in her name in April, Derrick can no longer be reached out to set an appointment. She tried calling Maurice, who used to come to her to collect rent each month, but his phone number no longer worked. Ultimately in June, she received trespassing summons in the mail. She initially thought it was mistakenly sent to her but when she appeared at her virtual court date and was connected with a lawyer, she learned she may have been a victim of a scam. According to court records, the house was bought by a Pennsylvania company called RHMS Group in 2017 and was sold to a Florida company called Boccafe LLC on June 2. Both companies had no idea that Walker was making payments on the house. {Article) #BlackNews #NBCNews ✨👉🏾 Kindly FOLLOW Our New Page @wonderwombman2 👈🏾✨ https://www.instagram.com/p/CWLZz9OLMas/?utm_medium=tumblr

The protesters have taken over 12 homes and plan to remain in the properties indefinitely, organizers said.
“With this health crisis and this housing crisis, we need every vacant house to be a home for those who don’t have a safe and stable place to sleep in,” said Ruby Gordillo, 33, while standing on the porch of a two-bedroom bungalow before moving in with her three children.
Gordillo and others involved in the protest have said they were inspired by a group of homeless mothers in Oakland. Late last year, those mothers took over a vacant, corporate-owned property and, after they were evicted, secured backing from Gov. Gavin Newsom to force the Bay Area property’s sale to a community land trust.
Like the Oakland moms, the protesters in El Sereno are affiliated with the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, an organization that has advocated several statewide measures to expand rent control and tenant protections.
The L.A. protesters, who call themselves Reclaiming Our Homes, say their push is all the more urgent because of the spread of the coronavirus and the disease it causes, COVID-19. Public health experts are calling for increasingly stringent measures, including asking people to stay indoors and to keep their distance from one another to slow the virus’ spread.
Though Newsom, L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti and other elected officials have called for housing homeless residents in hotels, motels and on public property, the families say they haven’t acted with enough urgency.
“Since they’re not, they’re being unjust,” said Martha Escudero, 42, who has spent the last 18 months sleeping on couches in East Los Angeles before moving into the Caltrans-owned home Saturday. “We have to do this.”
