More of these molt tree cuties, because how can I limit myself to a handful of favorites? Note that there are two bulbuls here - the Cape Bulbul ended up being replaced with Red-whiskered on the final version, mostly because more people were likely to recognize the latter as a typical bulbul.

November 11, 2024 - Yellow-necked Greenbul (Chlorocichla falkensteini) Found in three separate ranges in western Africa between Cameroon and Angola, these bulbuls live in forests, savannas, shrublands, and cultivated areas. They eat berries and other fruit, including small peppers, as well as insects, foraging in pairs or small family groups and sometimes joining mixed-species flocks. Only one of their nests has been described, a shallow cup built from bark, leaf stems, and fine grasses in a bush. Females are thought to incubate clutches of two eggs alone but both parents feed the chicks.
