rewatching World Trigger. I forgot how gay it was. Osamu straight up says "hey Yuma. I know that we've only known you for like five days, but I can't help but notice that you aren't doing anything with your life right now. Mind if I borrow it for a bit?"

And then Yuma responds with "while its true that we've only know each other for like five days, your kind yet stubborn nature has compelled me. Sure. Why not? From this moment on my life is yours to do whatever you want with. One condition, though. You have to be my boss" and then throughout the story he occasionally makes these little remarks like "I'd do anything my captain (osamu) asked me to."

Like bro what? I really don't think that Osamu fully realizes the weight of the loyalty he somehow managed to earn from Yuma. I don't think he could realize it. From his perspective he cringefailed his way into b rank while Yuma did all the work. "And now Yuma would kill or die for me" is just not a conclusion that would ever occur to Osamu based on the avaliable evidence.

And like, what's going on here from Yuma's perspective? I get that he was a man on the brink when the story started, pursuing a sincerely suicidal plan, and then said plan failed and he was left with absolutely nothing, but I still feel like there has to be more going on here. He decided that he would follow Osamu through hell and back the very same minute that Osamu asked anything of him at all.

It's like, combat is all Yuma has ever known. He doesn't see any future for himself at all, but he especially can't imagine a peaceful one. But he's not a bad kid. He doesn't go out of his way to hurt people. Osamu has proven to be a pretty decent person, willing to sacrifice himself to save the lives of relative strangers. Maybe, the way Yuma sees it, yeah he's a weapon, but if he follows Osamu at least he'll be a weapon pointed in the right direction. He'll fight because it's all he knows how to do, but osamu would only ever ask him to fight for worthy causes. Y'know?

Anyway. The point is that Yuma accepted helping Osamu as his new purpose in life after knowing him for less than a week, and that's A Lot, no matter how you look at it.

i think one of the most horrifying (in a good way) subtle hints abt how much ishgard has glorified the DSW and normalized the fighting and the necessity of knowing how to kill is honoroit. no, legitimately.

that boy is like ten years old (early-mid teens at most) and is already a small itty bitty little soldier who’s expected to be ready and willing and able to gear up in actual maille and be given a weapon and be ready to fight dravanians if the need arises. iirc he literally participates w/ emmanellain on the final steps of faith when nidhogg brings the horde to bear against ishgard. even the resident level-headed designated good guys in edmont and aymeric see no issue with this. it’s just normal to ishgardians that children will participate in a war alongside other house knights.

I dont like this theory. both because I'm… EXTREMELY ATTACHED TO CASSIEL IN A CERTAIN OTHER CONTEXT… and because I'm more inclined to look for Crowley by searching "Which angel was the Serpent of Eden" and going from there. there are a few good possibilities (when I'm less swamped with finals I will edit this and post my top 2 or 3 options), though Cassiel and Raphael are not among them. however, in the spirit of fair debate, Cassiel is the Angel of Time/Lord of Time. I don't think I have to specify WHY this is relevant.

I haven’t got a clue as to how stupid my theory I’ve got going is going to be, but it is something that I’ve thought about for awhile. I am not of Christian faith and so after some research and a now very dark and satanic looking browser history, I present my theory:

I do not agree nor think that before the fall, Crowley was the Archangel Raphael. A bit plot hole in this is that, as far as I know (again, not Christian and so some of my info may be false), Raphael never fell. It is mentioned in the script and visibly executed on the show that Crowley’s real name is, in fact, a sigil.

It is rather difficult on the show to make out exactly what Crowley puts as his name but it looks similar to the ‘&’ sign.

Another plot hole that interferes with Crowley being Raphael is sigils. Raphael’s sigil looks nothing like what Crowley wrote on the clipboard.

While this is aside from my inteded theory, it does branch out into another pending question of: Who was Crowley before the fall?

AGAIN, I am not Christian and so a lot of the information that I am getting is off of various websites of which I do not know how reliable they are. I don’t know these things for myself and so I participate in 20+ minutes of research and about 5 satan-worshipping website to get the information that I am bringing you guys now.

So WHO is Crowley, then?

Well, I theorise that Crowley is not the Archangel Raphael, but the Archangel Cassiel.

I originally saw Cassiel in a list of demons/fallen angels and their sigils and decided to investigate further. But from the OG website, lo-and-behold, Cassiel’s sigil looks remarkably like the vague shape that we received for Crowley’s sigil.

After I investigated further about Cassiel, it brought in some ties to the show and even some other theories I’ve seen.

I do not remember who it was exactly who posted it on Tumblr, but I remember reading a theory on how Crowley originally owned Aziraphale’s flaming sword (of which was passed down to the principality after he fell), which was what got the demon’s attention in the first place. The theory points out that Crowley’s immediate inquires about the sword were rather pointed and almost out of the blue. The theory is very intricate and I will link it if I can ever find it again. I am mentioning this theory because our boy, Cassiel, ALSO wielded a sword.

I believe that it is possible that Crowley could have been the Archangel Cassiel before he fell, but here are some ways that he ties in with Crowley:

- Cassiel means ‘speed of god’. Who goes 90mph in central London??

- Cassiel is depicted in art with red hair

- Cassiel is known as Archangel of Saturn, obviously being an angel of high ranking. Crowley can be seen as being fond of space and also having helped built certain stars and galexies.

- As mentioned before, the shape of Crowley’s sigil name resembles Cassiel’s sigil.

- The Archangel Cassiel can be depicted as or known for having the symbol (not sigil) of a dragon. Crowley had the former appearance of a snake and has serpentine eyes.

If anyone with a firm knowledge of Cassiel has anything to add, tell me and I’d love to add it to my theory. Again, I don’t know how dumb this may sound to people with actual knowledge of Christian lore and the angels, so please excuse my ignorance of the subject.

Funds for Haiti and Haitian Americans

A Haitian American woman with long Covid and her daughter with cancer have both been struggling to raise funds that would help them during their illnesses. Both of them live in the Midwest, which is where a lot of the most recent fear mongering has been centered.

COJEHA is a Haitian organization that provides financial support for youth, teaches agricultural skills, helps ensure children attend school, and teaches other soft life skills. They're working on building a farm with fish and vegetable crops where teaching occurs, which will also increase local access to fresh food.

P4H Global is the organization that has been working on building the canal connected to the Massacre River, another agricultural project. They have also been working to support education in Haiti, with both teachers and students.

The Haitian Community Center in Springfield, Ohio. Springfield's food bank, community health center, and a local Catholic organization that provides aid are also accepting donations.

Richard Pierrin is a journalist who has had to flee Haiti and is trying to get a visa that will allow him to work, and that doesn't end after 3 months.

I think one of the hardest things I am having to learn/unlearn is that just because you made someone you care for upset, doesn’t mean it’s the end of the relationship. Just because you pushed a bit too far and they said to stop doesn’t mean that they will hate you forever and ever and ever. What it means is that they are setting a boundary. They are communicating to you that you have upset or hurt them. What you then do is acknowledge it, apologise, and don’t do it again. Might it be a bit tense after that? Yes, because that person has every right to be emotional about it. Does that mean they will hate you and never talk to you again? No it does not. It is okay for whatever relationship you have to go through rough patches, to have bumps in the road. Because without those bumps, you won’t build the skills you need to communicate past them and grow as individuals.
