informally, some kind of. conversational follow up to the last comic. I'm trying to get the atmospheric conversational whimsy out of my system because I have a vision of the vatican as a body in active decay, a point of infection spreading out and poisoning the well, a jaw unhinged that people walk into over and over, and I am so close to figure out how to convey this visually. maybe.
#not that there's anything wrong with atmospheric whimsy but i kind of want to get into the gross body horror of it all#literally. allegorically. for the vibes. its just hard to pin down the abstract thought of 'oh we should High Rise the Vatican' you know#(High Rise by JG Ballard is what i'm referring to here) like how do I achieve this. well. first. is i must lay out the vatican and become#intimate with the visual set pieces. then i can talk about how this building could literally be hazardous to your health#however. drawing the vatican. is very. uhhhh. man I do not know enough about medieval-renaissance architecture to be inventing#anything and that one book that collected interiors of rooms and houses in renaissance art is NEVER ANYWHERE EVER#and if it is then it's always around when i cannot afford it. i feel like i am in a specific kind of torment torture box#i will not be defeated tho. i can design a vatican through other means.#ANYWAY. i think antidepressants would've made ascanio an unstoppable menace in the vatican#there's a bunch of stuff being referenced here but my pdf reader does not want to cooperate with me so basically we're playing around with#ascanio's household staff (alessandro) that whole thing wrt to ascanio & acts of piety/charity (such as covering dowries etc)#uh. that's it! this time i didn't accidentally call giuliano by his brother's name. which is . sherhhg. so there's a fic i was writing.#italian renaissance tag#komiks tag

#one piece#sanji#black leg sanji#everysanji#punk hazard#ch658#so today was my first day at my new job up in the mountains#its absolutely gorgeous up here btw its already snowing out here in mid october#but anyway we did the normal like. orientation go over the handbook stuff#and then we got sent with our supervisor for back of house and.#me and one of the other new guys struggled so hard to build a shelf#TBF the guy said 'leave a space on the bottom for the big pots'#so i didnt think we should get the bottom shelf on there. uhm.#we had to put two layers on sideways and its probably not the best shelf out there#BUT IT WORKS.#anyway after we finished that i got really dizzy so i had to go sit down#i've been at higher altitudes but u do really gotta take it easy for a bit#anyway i hope i'm more serving food to people than cooking it. which is still part of boh#i just dont want to be a line cook entirely...#but i can grill burgers and shit i just. prefer to do other things#i always preferred to do like assembly when i was boh at the a&w. and fry station was fine too#i just like interacting with people though

Tea time with Hassel is fucking wild. So far he told the director that:
- he bought a random woman a rose because it matched her clothes, then he was surprised when she came by the next day to ask him out? He then made a scene and demanded the rose back??
- he likes clean things because it's fun to make them dirty ??!?!?
- we're not getting rid of him unless the director personally sends him away ...
That last one btw was extra hilarious bc I was too lazy to look at recipes, so I was like eh let's make it super strong, let's put this salted plum in it too that's going to be disgusting (aka match his personality) and then he apparently was like yum you get an interaction and also you're not getting rid of me now lol

my idiot uncle is getting dragged into another get rich quick scheme again. this time he's paying for a course to learn how to set up ai agents. what for?
well he thinks it's a great business opportunity!
i'm gonna ramble in the tags for a bit.
#ignoring the ai part he has nothing to incorporate it into nor does he know the first thing about potentially doing that#like. he has no product or service that can benefit from it. and im not even sure he even knows what a json is#he's been doing this for... 20 years???#first it was that grocery store he set up on the road to the mountains that only ever sees any people during summer#then it was the wildly illegal slot machines of which half got confiscated and the other half is still collecting dust in the old house#then he did a soldering course. never did any soldering work afterwards#then it was my deceased uncle's truck that he was 100% going to use to work. it's abandoned in the farm house.#then it was my deceased uncle's audio equipment that he was 1000% going to use so we were asked not to sell it. abandoned in the old house.#then it was the electronics shop of which there were already a lot in town and they all cannibalised each other so it lasted five months#then he wanted to sell butane gas. he does not have a building suitable for storing butane gas so he could not get a license for it#then it was that thing he bought that could change the odometres of cars to lower the distance traveled. no demand for that one.#then he stared saying that he was going take out the gold copper and lead out of electronics and sell it#there is a room full of old computers and parts in the old house. untouched. a fire hazard.#then he got into an online ponzi scheme. the kind you put a little bit of money in and you get to take a little more#and then you put a large sum in and they fuck you over#oh and he got both into nft and crypto as well. got rug pulled in both.#and these are only the ones we know of because he bragged about them. his wife says there are a lot more we don't know about#i think the issue is that when he was 18 he got lucky with his first business (that my grandpa paid for in full)#that one made a lot of money but it was a fad. think cyber cafés. that kind of thing. gone by the time tech got more affordable.#he blew up the money on random shit at the time and he's been trying to replicate that success since#but the thing is that back then he was just lucky that he got in early#he does not have a business sense he is not an insider in anything nor is he good with money but he is convinced that he is#he has been hurting ALL of our finances for decades because we keep rescuing him out of pity for his kids#and im sick of it. i cannot wait for the youngest to turn 18.#it's almost funny because every once in a while mum grandpa and i have a moment where one of us goes#'hey guess what [uncle] is trying to get into now'#and it's a bonding moment. we bond over being so tired of his shit.#he is the glue that keeps us together

Before you decry someone's post because "nobody is saying that, you're just making up a strawman to get mad at" you should check to be sure there's nobody in the notes saying exactly that, and you should be very, VERY sure that there's not, say, a post with tens of thousands of notes floating around that says exactly that
